The worst thing that ever happened to Eddie Munson is a spinning studio opening in the building next to the neighborhood store he runs with his uncle.

"That's the third one today," Eddie whines as soon as the door snicks shut behind a woman with a glossy high ponytail and electric pink polka dot Lululemon sports bra and bicycle short set.

"You see her ponytail?" Nancy asks. She's flipping through a stack of flashcards. "Never seen a twenty-five year old look fresh off a facelift."

"I hate them so much. What kind of job is 'cycling instructor' anyway?"

"I'm concerned about the amount of makeup they wear to workout. That's gotta be bad for the pores."

"I'm concerned about the collective IQ holding that operation together. Like, do they know how to get out if there's a fire alarm?"

Nancy shoves him, but snickers too. It's not like he really has anything against the instructors. They're fine. Polite and usually harmless. It's the principle of it. It's not fair, that they get to continue into an adulthood that's still all about them being pretty and popular, without any substance.

"You've done college bio," he says. He notices a couple of cereal boxes have fallen over, hops off the counter to push them back in place. "What are the chances their muscles are so big it's cutting off the blood flow to their brains? Is that a thing that can happen?"

There's no response from the front of the store, which isn't unusual. Mostly, she lets him talk and chimes in when the mood strikes. Since she seems uninterested in offering her input, he straightens the cereal and keeps gabbing.

"The other day, one of the guys came in, and his shorts were so tight, I could see his balls. Not just the outline, but the wrinkles. I could almost make out individual pubes. Is that one of those things where they pretend they're limiting drag, or whatever, to improve their speed? Even though it's a stationary bike--"

He turns, the shelves straightened, and literally only three feet from him is one of the aforementioned cycling instructors. Unfortunately, he's the most beautiful man Eddie has ever seen. Even more unfortunately, he definitely heard Eddie making fun of them.

"Uhh," Eddie says.

The guy smiles. "Sorry, my giant muscles make it hard to get around sometimes."

And Eddie just. Like. What the fuck. "That must make it difficult to cycle." God, god but this guy is so fucking, devastatingly hot and all Eddie has done is antagonize him. And not even intentionally!

"I get by," he smiles and Eddie almost swoons. "Hey, when I bend down, can you let me know about the ball sitch? I have a wholesome image to maintain."

Is he flirting? It seems like he's flirting? But that's weird, right? He caught Eddie talking shit, why would he--

"It would be my pleasure to look at your balls," his mouth says before his brain can catch up.

The guy snorts, smile getting bigger. "I don't know, now I might be self-conscious. Might have a wayward pube."

"How will you know if someone doesn't take a look?"

The guy steps closer, cocks his head to the side. He's got this impressive sweep of hair that barely tumbles, his throat dotted with cute little moles and freckles. Eddie's mouth is watering, why is his mouth watering? "I usually get to know someone a little bit better before they get that privilege."

For once, he's speechless and now he's blushing, can feel it up to his ears and down to his nipples.

The guy leans even closer, breath ghosting against Eddie's skin. "Too bad you hate exercise instructors."

This social interaction has already been a disaster, but he makes it even worse by responding with an indignant squeak.

The guy winks, can't hide his genuine amusement at Eddie's expense. "You ever want to make it up to me, you can come to one of my classes."

With that, he walks up to Nancy at the counter, and Eddie gets his first look at the single most glorious ass he's ever seen. His mouth literally drops open as he watches how it jiggles, perfect and round, and he wonders if it would be too much to fall to his knees and worship it right then and there.

Eddie's dumbstruck for a little too long, almost misses as the cycling instructor heads for the door. "How can I take your class if I don't know your name?" He shouts.

The instructor half turns, the sexiest, smuggest smile on his pretty face. "It's Steve!" He yells back.

"I'm Eddie!"

"I know!"

The door closes and he turns to Nancy. "How--how did he know my name?"

Nancy rolls her eyes, goes back to her flashcards. "You're wearing a name tag, you absolute dork."

Eddie knows he's a man of weak will. Is not completely surprised when, after a month of meanly flirtatious interactions, Steve leans across the counter to taunt, "you do one cycling class with me and I'll take you out to dinner."

He's fresh from a workout, hair still damp and messy from the shower. Eddie thinks he's about to lose his mind, desire a clawing beast gnawing on his bones.

"Oh, so I might finally get the opportunity to check out your balls?"

Steve's cheeks go very pink, and something tight and hot tugs in Eddie's abdomen. "If you play your cards right."

While trying to put together a production of Much Ado About Nothing, the characters’ lives become intertwined with those of whom they are playing. Self-proclaimed perpetual bachelor Steve and his bff Carol audition for the fall production, with Steve being cast as the aptly assigned role of Benedick. Meanwhile, unsatisfied romantic Eddie and his sunshine Chrissy also audition because the only other options are some horrific minstrel show that is severely out-dated, or Cats in the Spring and there’s no way. Eddie receives the part of Beatrice, Benedick’s down-fall. Both have their own reasons for being hesitant about the production, but when Carol and Chrissy seem to spark an intense romantic interest in one another, their lives become significantly more complicated.

Or: A Much Ado AU that unfolds the way all Shakespearean comedies do.

The Duffers are those guys who hate women so much they end up writing dudes who obviously want to date other men, and leave you with the distinct impression that they probably would but for the lack of pussy. I would put money down on them being those kinds of guys themselves.

Steve has had chemistry for days with just about every dude he's ever shared screen time with. They had my man Billy out here acting feral over him and apparently a little chest hair on display was enough to make Eddie forget the past and decide that Steve was a decent dude.

He's out here gazing into eyes, and engaging in these interesting male relationships with gas for miles, while his relationships with women are so limp.

They keep reinforcing that Steve actually finds women boring and shallow, and that he's really looking for a girl with "masculine" traits who is gonna boss him around and keep him on his toes.

Seriously. He's plenty attracted to women's bodies and happy to get his dick wet, but the show repeatedly goes out of its way to tell us that the first girl to truly get under his skin and touch him, was "not like the other girls."

Then they have him fall for Robin (also not like the other girls) so hard, that apparently it cures his latent homophobia from season 1 and they become bffs for life . After Robin, other women continue to hold physical appeal for Steve, but they take actual screen time to make sure we know that Steve finds all of these encounters meaningless and he is not so secretly pining for his gun wielding, take charge, bossy pants, ex-girlfriend.

According to the Duffers, the thing that makes Robin & Nancy 'special' is that they don't act like typical girls, but rather a lot more like these bros he has no problems heating up the screen with. LAMO. I can't.

I just think it's funny how we don't actually talk about this. I mean the obvious problem here is the Duffers don't like women, but the fact that Steve doesn't really like them either seems to fly over most people's heads.

Heard this is the place for Jonathan aus so here’s something I’ve been brainstorming

Mamma Mia AU

Jonathan has always wondered about his birth father but all Joyce ever told him was that it was summer romance, and he’d gone long before she found out she was pregnant. But one day he stumbles upon her old diary and discovers he has not 1 but 3 potential fathers -Jim Hopper, Bob Newby, and Murray Bauman- and decides to invite them all to his upcoming wedding.

- Lonnie is Will’s dad but not Jonathan’s, he met/married Joyce after Jonathan was born and they’ve since divorced

- Was thinking Nancy as Skye but could be anyone you ship Jonathan with

- Joyce unfortunately doesn’t have female bffs in ST so the best I got is Karen in her divorce era as Tanya and maybe Mrs. Henderson as Rosie and yes they were totally in the world’s first girl power band

- Can play around with setting, dealers choice if it’s still a musical

Okay first of all, love that I'm apparently gaining a reputation as someone who loves and appreciates Jonathan Byers and will always accept AU ideas for him, because that's exactly who I am

Second of all, oh my god?? I love this so much??

I've actually thought about the possibility of a Mamma Mia AU in the past, but with either Nancy or Chrissy as Donna, and some combination of Jonathan/Eddie/Steve/Billy/etc. as the potential fathers, but this version is so much funnier because the idea of Jonathan being the main character of a musical is so unlike him 😂

Even better if it is still a musical, but he's the only one who doesn't sing lmaoo

Casting here is so spot on because if Joyce ends up marrying Hopper, that means Murray will end up being gay, Bob will get together with Claudia Henderson (which, frankly, adorable), and Karen Wheeler will flirt shamelessly with a bartender (Billy?) that's way too young for her (accurate)

Either Nancy or Chrissy would make a great Skye, plus Eddie and Steve could have bit parts as Jonathan's groomsmen who try to help him figure out which is his real dad 😂

Hellcheer addition! (ignoring the 1 like thing as I just want to write about these two crazy kids) 1. Chrissy being single. 2. So I don't have just one, but the music from the soundtrack 'I wouldn't remember me either' which plays for them? It's a beaut! (bit of a cop-out answer this one, sorry). 3. The ship observed by other people (so alternative POV's - Max, Jason, Dustin etc.) 4. Has to be my own as we only got one damn episode. 5. In the woods, when Chrissy says 'me?' so cute and Eddie is just soft and silly. 6. When Eddie heads back to the trailer with Steve/Nancy/Robin in the Upside Down and there's just a missing 'oh shit this is where Chrissy died' moment I would have liked to see. 7. (god this is tough as there's loads) Eddie being really really into eating Chrissy out. 8. I've seen a lot of fics that take Jason's character maybe too far (though yeah, he was a lunatic in the show). I don't think he'd harm Chrissy. 9. The 'opposites attract' angle. They have no business being so perfect for one another - but they are (second option would be how hot they are as a couple). 10. That Eddie would have to step on Jason's toes pretty severely (thanks Joe) and it would be messy. Ideally Chrissy would end it before getting with Eddie. 11. Deffo canon, thanks, but yeah I need them to come back to life in season 5 for more... Time travel? Alternative universe? Come on, Duffer Brothers. 12. Baldur's Gate 3... I could see them both as Bard's but maybe Chrissy could be a Cleric. Chrissy's BFF is clearly Karlach and Lae'zel scares tf out of Eddie (someone write me a crossover with the whole party being there?) 13. Eddie's easier to write than Chrissy, I think. Some authors really NAIL Eddie. 14. I've not been drawn to another pairing from Stranger Things in the same way - but I do like Chrissy shipped basically with anyone ('cause she's pretty). 15. Chrissy. I'd give her a big hug and we'd hang out watching 80's flicks. My girl needs love and take out. 16. The only way I could see this playing out is if one of them tries being all stupid noble and self-sacrificing. Eddie might so Chrissy goes to college (if she wants to stay behind with him) and Chrissy might because she doesn't want him to get hurt by Jason etc. It wouldn't last. 17. I think so - both have vulnerable spots which everyone can relate to. I find myself very similar to Chrissy (especially at her age). 18. I didn't like Eddie leaving Wayne to find Chrissy's body, but I get that's a character choice and he was scared af. 19. Lots? (and I'm new to the fandom). More are incoming, sorry. 20. You know, I didn't get sucked in when I first watched season 4 but on a re-watch? Yeah. Besides Billy, no other character's mistakes get excused like the fandom and the show does with Nancy. She's allowed to be shitty towards others because of trauma, and in the show, nobody seems to have any problems with her. I so badly wanted Robin to be more mean to her, especially after Nancy was bitchy in the library. I'm just saying Robin wouldn't have let this slide with Steve. Or I wanted Steve to be more hurt. I wanted Nancy to feel out of place in the group, suddenly having to work with her ex and his bff. I wanted her to actually reflect on things, but nope, everyone loves her, and she can do whatever.

Even when she apologized to Steve or Jonathan, it wasn't really an apology. She let Steve interrupt her, label himself as a shitty boyfriend, and called it a day. In s3, she told Jonathan she's sorry for the things she said and got interrupted again by Jonathan this time, who told her no she was right. And then she said to him "well never doubt me again", kinda taking back the apology. And this is why I can't see when people say Nancy has so much character growth, when fundamentally, she stays the same. She makes the same mistakes over again, and it doesn't matter because people will be obsessed with her. The only growth she had was her confidence shooting a gun, which canonically doesn't even matter because you need fire to combat those monsters lmao.

I would have loved more tension between Robin and Nancy, and not in a way that could be misconstrued as homoerotic, or whatever. Like... these two have been in the same class for how long and Nancy didn't even recognize her in S3 😂 personally, I would have held such a grudge

honestly, I want to see a scene in S5 where Steve gets mad, because he said the plan at the end of S4 was shit, but they did it anyway, and now Eddie is dead and Max is in a coma. let him be mad. let Nancy have to contend with making the wrong call. some personal growth, please, duffers??

Stranger Things dr dreams/Memories

3/14/24 It's been awhile, I know I've been focused on other drs. But I think Billy & Eddie miss me because I keep having dreams with them in it that could be memories. Firstly I obviously need to finish reading Eddie's ST book 'Flight of Icarus' because I had a dream that I was in Eddie's motorhome but it was huge! Then Eddie, his BFF Ronnie (who is not in the show) and I were taking these pills that looked like amber, they were performance enhancers but for musicians. Then Eddie layed down on the couch and I watched him, rubbing his head so he didn't fall asleep cause I was worried he would be unconscious. He got irritated at me for "babying" him, and then that manager Paige showed up and he became really happy and bounded up to her. While I just looked at her annoyed "Oh yeah you'll be nice to her." She wanted to talk but I refused saying I needed to be alone. I dislike her for good reason…The rest of the dream was all over the place and not Hawkins related. Though I think we were in California.

Speaking of…I'm pretty sure Mandy and Billy move there or already have because I had another dream where Billy and I lived in this big 2 story house (Think The Gilberts house from TVD) I also met Billy's older brother, pretty sure his name was Dacre lol, he looks like Billy but with wavy (not curly) light blond hair, wearing a leather jacket with a bunch of pins and buttons all over. I can defintly see where Billy gets his style and charm from. He was flirting with me and Billy was getting upset and Jelous. "Get your own girl." Then Billy pulled me into a room still upset, I managed to appease him by making out with him, until Eddie showed up who Dacre apparently knew because he gave him a big hug and said "Hey Eddie My man! how've you been?" They got to talking idr about what but then Eddie glanced upstairs where we were and told Billy's brother he had something to do. He headed upstairs and I'm pretty sure we had a threesome…I'm not sure if that was just me day dreaming though as I was starting to wake up.

3/23/24 Had a short memory of Steve and I sitting on a roof. Drinking, cuddling and watching the stars. Must have been when we were together. Then another one of Billy and I pulling Eddie and Chrissy from the upside down.

4/12/24

I had a memory while asleep of my dr self (Mandy) with Billy, Chrissy, Steve and Eddie. I'm sure it was during S4 and we were either at the Creel mansion or Nancy's house I'm not sure because all I saw was the bannister we were by. It was dark. We were getting ready to leave (I think Nancy and Robin had left already) Billy and Steve were arguing over who was going to drive. Steve snapped "It's my car I'm driving!" Billy shook his head but didn't say anything.

We got into the car, Chrissy first then me then Billy. Billy grinned, "Hey at least I get to be by the girls." Steve didn't look to happy idk why, we're not together anymore, I'm still with Billy. Steve probably still likes me oh well. Anyway I remember putting my hand on Chrissy's leg and Billy putting his hand on mine and giving each other flirty looks. idk where we were headed.

Update: After doing a reading I figured out where we were headed and why Chrissy was there. Since she died, or we thought she did. Turns out she's stuck in the upside down after we thought we lost her, we find out that Chrissy is alive. (after Billy jumps into watergate, he goes first instead of Steve) We help Eddie get her (via his trailer) where he finds her alone. Then we escape. We then drove to either reunite with Hopper or just go to his place. But we still have to face Vecna later on.

Also the conversation that took place between Steve and Eddie actually takes place between Billy and Eddie in my dr. Eddie thanks Bily for helping him and thinks he's metal for what he did to the bat (Billy gets the Ozzy reference) he then talks to Billy about me and that we need to make up. Which makes sense because in our relationship he is very much the peacemaker.

I also take Max's place in the beginning. I watched more episodes hoping to get memories but I got flashes and resonance from my Marvel dr instead lol (Since El's time at Hawkins Lab is similar to mine in Hydra.)

11/10/24

It's been a hot minute 'cause I've been focused on other drs!

But I had memories while doing a reading with Billy and Eddie. Firstly Billy and I are still engaged but I also think we have a child now or I'm pregnant… We're all still together but we've hit a rough patch, especially Eddie and Billy. We're in California now but Eddie's been persuaded by that scam slutty manager Paige, like I thought would happen…I think she tried to come onto him or he cheated when he was high & because of his career and money. I already had a feeling and we're young so I'm not too upset about it or as upset as Billy anyway…Billy feels betrayed and starts using again which we fight about, Dacre lends me an ear to talk to and in my vulnerable state we end up kissing, I don't think we go any further than that and he does apologize but Billy is still upset when he finds out. We make up though, him and Eddie are still on thin ice but they do still love, miss and think about each other a lot. Eddie and I are on better terms and I do forgive him.

Oof poor Eddie, his crush is being distant and his bff is being a dick! Also poor Jonathan, he was so excited to go on his first date w Nancy and instead of getting support from Steve he gets insulted and has to deal with the fallout ☹️ It’s interesting to see how Steve’s inflated ego has kinda caused his latent toxic masculinity to rise up a bit. Especially his needing to feel superior to others. Wonder if the group will manage to fix his hubris before it gets him kicked off the show like Joey was 😂😉 Maybe a potential solution for the future could be setting up a Douchebag Jar for Steve like in New Girl lol.

Eddie was definitely having a tough time in the last chapter 😂

But the good news is that Jonathan wasn’t even all that insulted by Steve’s comment—he’s got thick enough skin that it barely made an impression. He’s happy with Nancy now, and doesn’t care if either of the other guys wants to date him lol.

I had fun with Steve in this last chapter, letting him be such a diva. I know that in the show, he hasn’t looked back since he became a certified Good Guy, but I think that if the circumstances were just right, he could possibly slip back into his old, douchier ways. Not permanently though—he’ll get his ego in check before too long!
