Cornbread's Texture Fixer Devlog v0.9.0 - Beta 6 December 20th, 2024
while making longer posts that require a lot of screenshots kinda sucks, i otherwise really like these devlogs. they give me an opportunity to ramble about stupid bullshit that no-one else cares about. they also give me an opportunity to give context to my more... contextless posts.
for instance, last week, i posted this image, simply captioned 'woops':
i tagged this with "cornbread's texture fixer", since it was an issue in that pack specifically, but explained nothing else.
to clarify, this was not an issue with the current public version of the pack (Beta 5) like the mossy cobblestone walls are, but rather, an issue with last week's development version.
in vanilla, dogs are off center. this is something that had been brought to my attention via youtube video a few days prior, and so i shifted the model over a pixel to center it, making the amateur mistake of assuming dog armor would come with. this week, i have shifted over dog armor so that it is not visibly misaligned when Beta 6 releases.
also the lead attachment point but no-one would have noticed that anyway.
as for the rest of this week's progress, the first thing i did was make pale oak hanging signs use the stripped log texture for particles, like this pack does with other hanging signs. i did not intend to wait for the third week of Beta 6's development to fix this. i simply forgot they were in the game.
speaking of pale oak hanging signs, has anyone ever noticed that pale oak regular signs look really bad on bedrock edition??
one of the colors is just... straight up not the right one.
anyway, i've replaced it with the java edition texture, so it's fine now.
books and enchanted books have their rarities swapped in vanilla. like, i get that i'm really stretching the premise of a pack called "cornbread's texture fixer", but like... come on mojang. it's been fucked since 1.21.30!
the current line in the changelog for this reads "Managed to fix the rarities of Books and Enchanted Books, with literally negative help from bedrock.dev. Thanks for lying, y'all." which i will probably make less mean.
by which i mean, i'll make it Even less mean. earlier in the week it called them fuckasses.
fun fact! enchanted books ignore the normal rarity rules, both in terms of being uncommon instead of rare and also in the fact that they do not change rarity depending on whether or not they have enchantments.
the button for expanding and contracting the sidebar in the dressing room and marketplace is misaligned. i've fixed it, which is a thing i can do because the sidebar is stored on a different file than the rest of the dressing room.
the texture is also misscaled (like everything else in this game), but it looks comically small when i try to fix it, so i'm not sure what exactly i want to do about it. not like it's noticeable at 3x UI scale anyway.
aaaaand that's it for this week. i wanted to do more, but everything else i can think to fix would be really annoying.
i think, apart from all the parts of the pack that denote which version it is, Beta 6 is done now. should come out either tomorrow or maybe the day after if i'm tired.

Gengar looks at the Pansage, and the pansage looks back at them. A lot more terrified than the Gengar thought they’d be, even after ran to hide. The air felt stiff, till Arachnia put oranges, and cinnamon sticks in a ceramic bowl of water.
Gengar observes that Arachnia changes the ice-stone with a fire-stone. Just rare items, used for convenience, how rich.
Gengar looks over the market counter for the berries and wood boxes filled with ‘green tea or ‘tea’ as carved in footprints. Odd. But it had patterned leaves and a painted color, so that helped.
The Pansage was gone, the door having a smoke of dust.
Gengar strolled around the market, looking at the Zorou and Phantump playing in the middle of the street around the stained glass of the moon with a crashing star being hit by the sun. Their parents watched between the warehouses, in chairs with swirls patterned on the back, drinking herbal tea from the green camping bag the taller tree had.
They glared looking at the Gengar strolling through the other side of the market, near the end of a sturdy little cafe being quite tall over an Aggrons height.
“Hope you take your egg on a nice walk, heard it nice for their soul to gather the energy around them.”
A Kadabra advises, leaning their legs on the table.
The Gengar glances at their card the one on Kadabra's thumb is shaped like an ornate mirror with a reflective surface in luminous colors, a card with eyes in darkness with distorted borders effect and the third one is not so visible.
Gengar smiled and nodded.
…
“I think the egg they have might be fairy type,”
“How”
“Because I'd hear, and read that Gengar believes that having Aggrons blood is good for their kid, cause of them thinking ol cave divers are a dragon type.” Kadabra slams their cards on the table, showing the last cards a haunter. “That's a why”
The muscular-type Pokemon smiled and rested their hands to look at the Kadabra conspiracy, “Isn't that a little odd?”
“Yes, that is. A typing blood for some superstitious reason and Gengar usually lived here for the human era that was a common superstitious. Gengar might know some dead humans.”
“And… What?” The Pokemon got slapped on the back of the head by a palm, “You don't know what you're talking about, reading Pokemon's mind made your brain scramble.”
“I was there, I just haven't seen Gengar come out often or at all.”
“Yeah but know we might, just with an egg.”
–
Gengar takes their egg on a walk
Gengar looks at the sign with a purple Rattata with a mustache and train station cap.
Looking over the railway station they found themselves. They walked up the stairs with white tiles, up from the dirt path of railways.
“Well good afternoon, I am the train conductor of the station supervising the train tracks welcome.”
Gengar adjusted holding the egg, “Hi…”
“You came out of the railway, well that's unsafe. But I guess from being a ghost type and all, it wouldn't phase you. ”
Rattata peaked over the egg.
“Oh you have an egg, congrats, is it yours.”
“Yeah, em” Gengar looked at the egg, “Found it.”
“Have this.”
Gengar received thin yarn, twiddling the tail of the yarn in its Rose onyx shade (Purple).
“This is a secluded part of ‘Rayvoush Bay’ because it's under my operation for when the train comes in.”
Rattata took Gengar to the next route, to a nice bustling of water and light right on top of the center.
“Visit Frillish’s Grills, they have nice shells.”
Rattata waved, hopping off from the barrel.
Gengar was in the middle of the market, there were a lot of wide bridges and a lot of water sidewalks. Seeing some Magikarps cross paths, and looking down to see its own market to blurry, but the guess was close guess.
Gengar hobbled a little over to more of the land area, that had smaller water paths for fish pokemon to make trades with the rodent marketers.
Gengar could hear the wings flapping overhead, and a crisp orange leaf fell into the water paths.
They pass gazes with a Lucario. Gengar stopped by to look at some heaters, “Oh hey did you come with that Lucario.” Gengar's smile faded as they looked at Lucarios chivalrous stare.
“No.”
Gengar is a bit scared all in all. Just would it be awkward to go in the shadows, they couldn't bring the egg with them… They didn't fully trust themselves it wouldn't break the egg.
Gengar walked down the patterned tiled path more bluer than the second, finding a subway exit.
Gengar had redecorated.
Organized, fixed the place, and rearranged the contents of a box of old collected electronics. Some were gifts from scares, and some were found fair and square.
Gengar had unfolded a patchwork knitting blanket that mostly bled in the pinkest of shades.
The first patch in the right corner was of a mushroom, the second patch was a cloud, and the third was moss shrubs on a tree growing small clusters of purple flowers.
Down the tree and on the second row of patches was a pinned purple mirror on the swirls of the carefully knitted tree, then the star, and then another pair of clouds with flowers.
On the last row, the full Moon sparkled with small purple stars, the second patch was grass with purple knitting, and just by the tree was a stack of purple books.
Gengar turned it around; determination sparked a clear blaze in their eyes.
{This is slapped on part because turns out, up, those words are 957 around it. Wich is good, but ima cut some parts up for conflict cause I ain't editing all that Fr need beta-erader but hey this might be good. Still using prompts, even if its unexcpect}
“Hey! You have a Clefairy’s egg?”
Gengar looked to the entrance of their home, resting on their arm. Seeing a Bunnary with belts and a roll-out bag. Oh yeah and the same Lucario they had seen before, and without the blur of the small crowd their fur is a bit dirtied
“You know as a ghost-type Pokemon the only thing you can do is steal heat for yourself.” The Bunneray gripped their bag, “That Egg won't make it through the winter.”
"So?"
The Lucario beside them’s ears flicked more inwards, pointing at Gengar “... Ah.”
Gengar felt threatened, in their home. What point do they have to come down here? Do they like hunting?
“Hold it right there!”
The Lucario shouted.
“Is anyone here too scared to ask why this Gengar had an Egg!” The Lucario called out.
The Pokemon murmurs ‘Hey fights gonna happen’, Putting Gengar at ease from fully getting up.
The Lucario started to go on a tirade of mournful song, of the swanne’s migrations mourning.
“What you gonna do, you're a cliched fool. You know that don’t you.”
“If I'm cliche what are you.”
Gengar’s eyes dimmed and sharpened arresting glare. Flinching the Lucario from their half-made stance, their feet patting the dirt in adrenaline.
Gengar gets themselves up, placing the egg behind one of the rocks.
“It’s always the less self-aware ones that are for me.”
The shadows seemed darker or was the Gengar in the shadows? Gengar eye’s intrinsic aura is overshadowed by Gengar's glare. The Lucario froze from taking their last step away.
Gengar shouted, causing to Lucario flinch, “A day of cliches! How Unbearable” A melded fist of shadows hit Lucario straight in the head,
"A day of the Frillish and a day of no task, how disappointing you showed up."
The Lucario seemed faster. Taking a few steps back a bit faster, and zigazing with their claws melding into steel.
Lucario's paws ached, weighing them down at the thought of using ‘steel claws’ again. Lucario adjusted their stance back up.
Gengar was feeling curious punching the Lucario around, until there was the Lucarios head smacking theirs in an agonizing migraine.
Gengar didn't learn any other moves, and might just break the aura detected. Was it even used in battle? I mean it'll probably hurt.
Gengar sure might've been amature in some aspect of being a ghost-type, maybe not average but not bad. There were just posing curses that worked well too.
Making their Bunnery friend have to frag them all the way back from the steps of their homes.
The 3 Finneon circling that usually pool river knew about the curse. The old Clamperl and Shellder couples sure enjoyed the little fight. The Pansage only stared down at the Gengar. After looking at the Pokemon in the river, he tried looking at the Pokemon watching from the cliffside.
The Kadabra beside them was only just as entertained.
"Yknow maybe this is a good resting spot for an old sport like me."
A Qougsire hit the tree, "Sure, and I won the deck of colorful card games from stealing your third card sour Litten"
"It was a rare card"
"It wasn't even shiny like the mirror"
"Yeah, I just could've had a cool combo"
"Haha, yeah it would've been."
Qougsire mumbled the last part out quietly, "I don't know how the game works"
The Kadabra pointed from their tree wagging the hips, "Hah you were fluking!"
"I just joined the game, it felt obvious."
Aggron was one of the many Pokemon that were there, with a Hoothoot kid on their head and a Swanne next to them. They were on the other side of the cliff, being able to see the Gengar from in between the trees.
"Is the Gengar gonna eat us"
"Mm maybe"
The Aggron watched the Gengar pick up their, hidden from the rocks.
Entering back to their den, the Gengar pats the Clefairy egg. Wishing to tell it something more, of things they don't truly know. Because some fears just don't seem reasonable to always tell a child.
Let alone one that hasn't even hatched out of its cradle.
Gengar floats up to their homey room, placing the Clefairy egg on the willow tree's leaves cushions, and pin missiles. With one little wooden thorn, blood dried off on the leaves too.
The Gengar sighs and lays down beside the egg.

Woops, I accidentally colored some more sketches!
I wasn't planning on publishing these, since they have multiple anatomy mistakes in them (these were sketches done in-between, not focusing on how to *actually draw correct* so yeah... they were meant just for my own fun 🙄😏)
I was going through my sketch folders and suddenly found the urge to experiment a bit with the color process. I wanted to do more muted colors, a more paint-ish style on a sketch and one with more explicit backlight.
And then this happened and I love them too much to keep them locked away in my folder 😭🥰💁♀️ (zoom, originals and some more sketches under the break)

(yes I edited some line art mistakes from the original to the colored versions)

Celebrity Sighting
Last week from an outsiders perspective it would look like, based on our excitement, we had ourselves two celebrity sightings in one day. In normal peoples lives, celebrity tends to be a term used to describe some Instagram famous model à la Kardashian. However, having the lives of urban planning and architecture interns changes the meaning of the word. We had the chance to sit down with two very inspirational, impressive, successful experts in their field. These people define what it means to put your work first, be successful, and strive to work for the people to make the world a better place. Our amazing boss, who’s more like a sister at this point lets be real, @Maya Tapiero where ya at, has so many amazing connections to people she is able to put us in touch with to meet to help determine and learn in what path life can take us, how we can direct it and why or where we should be focused in order to achieve what we want in this lifetime.
Go on #ImListening....
First we met Dana Gazi. At the age of 41, Dana has recently opened a private firm with a small handful of partners. Dana is possibly one of the busiest people in Jersualem, and we managed to track her down and get a quick run through of her journey from Kabbalah to the Gay Pride parade. We met in her office, an intimate and inspiring environment, beautifully decorated with style and work in mind. While Dana is currently in the process of getting her masters in Urban Planning, she received a bachelors in Jewish studies, specifically focused on Kabbalah (mysticism), then continued to study Social Work. When looking for a job, she turned to the municipality who said, “we need an urban planner, heres your job”. With no prior knowledge or background in the field, Dana was was completely thrown into the situation. Despite this she always put 200% of herself into her work. She worked as a Community Planner in Kiryat Yovel and Givat Ram for 5 years, always quick to learn on her feet. She described herself as someone who, while over the years has calmed a little, is always ready to fight her way to get her message across. She is the perfect Community Planner in that way, as she sees a need for the people and has the ability to give them a voice. Through her work there she found a need to focus on public participation. She saw that the only way to help the people was to hear the people and make them feel heard. She explained that the BEST outcome happens if you can hold many conflicting ideas and messages that you’ve heard from the people within your mind, and form them into something great.
---Our faces when we try to get on her level and do just that---
#ComeAgain?

Her final project before moving to the private sector came from seeing an ignored need. The city had been planning to double the amount of residential buildings in the already over populated area. She and her now partner, (forget his name woops) came to the committee with concerns. They saw that this would ruin not only the environment but the quality of life in the area. The committee, in turn, essentially said “if you think its so bad, you find a way to do it.” The two had three months to come up with an entirely new plan. So, they hit the ground running. With that focus on public participation in mind, they spent a month and a half interviewing anyone and everyone. They then used all this information to not only come up with a new plan, but include documents and regulations that would need to be applied. In the end, 90% of their plan was used. After this success, Dana and her partner saw not only their own potential, but the potential of the people. They opened their firm which works with companies and governments alike to work with the people for the people...
Some of her firms most recent projects include organizing programming for Pride Month in Tel Aviv, tapping into her instinct for connecting with people and focusing on public participation to make it one of the most successful Pride Months the city has ever seen. Her team is also working on a new green and sustainable street on General Pierre Koenig street in the neighborhood of Baq’a in Jerusalem with benches, greenery, and pops of color to make it beautiful and fun! One of the issues she raised that’s close to her heart, is that many immigrants want to move to Jerusalem and in order to do that area needs to be rebuilt and in effect becomes much more densely populated. But, there are already so many housing projects and residential areas that need to be improved, that don’t get a steady supply of water or are in desperate need of a basic sanitation upgrade, that neglecting to help those people is wrong. She is continuously and tirelessly working this angle with hopes to have a better future for everyone.
After being blown away by our meeting with Dana, we were lucky to meet with an equally impressive Greek architect by the name of Elias Mesinass. A master of all trades, I think the simplest thing to say about him is that he studied architecture and sustainability in Israel and at the Yale University in Connecticut. While originally from Greece, Elias is constantly involved in different projects. The edited list he ran through included everything from working as a Urban/Community Planner for the German Colony in Jerusalem, to traveling back to Greece to help in synagogue restorations and architecture, programming and organizing Eco-week in Jerusalem, teaching in Holon and Sde Boker and, in collaboration with a landscape designer, helping to redesign the outdoor garden of the Nature Museum next to the municipality in the German Colony, where his official office is. While technically he is working part time for the municipality, it is truly a full time job. Its fascinating that he is willing to extend himself this much and take all this on because he is so devoted to doing what he does and making the world a better place through architecture and design.
Does putting mirrors on all the facades count as making the world a better place? .. it is very conducive to taking better pics... but people inside can definitely see every pose we strike... #awks

A crucial point he made is that design and architecture are so much more than the magazines. A lot of professionals will design in order to get their work into a pretty magazine. But truly caring about what the world and the people need is not about making it into a magazine. Whether your project is big or small, Architecture, Urban Planning, Sustainability and Design are all fields in which at the end of the day you feel accomplished having made even a small difference wherever you are, its not about fame or recognition at the core. He learned a lot of his theories from an Egyptian architect, Rass Al Hatri, that he met once in his youth on a class trip. He said at the time he didn’t understand the architects words and that they only made sense years and years later. To Elias’s understanding now what the architect said meant to go around and look at the communities, talk to the people, see the areas that need improvement, find out why, research how, and start there. This is one of the pieces of advice he left with us.
While doing research for this internship, we came across something called the “Creative Class”. The creative class is a term that basically categorizes a group of professionals working in the field of the arts or design and separates them from another category of professionals working more in the realm of business, administration and health care. Richard Florida, the man who created this term and used it within his vernacular states that “along with problem solving their (Creative Class) work may entail problem finding”. This idea ties in very well with the concepts Rass All Hatri told Elias Messiness. This statement is at the very core of what is corrupting the professional world of architecture, urban planning, and design. If the main focus is to create new problems, who will focus on the ones that already exist? It is similar to what Rass and Dana both said. There are people, communities and areas in the world that need improvement, that are living below what is considered a healthy standard of living. So when professionals look to design for the sake of getting featured in that magazine its usually very possible that they will neglect to focus on the real issues at hand. Thankfully more and more often contemporary architects and planners see the importance of public participation. They enrage the communities to help themselves, and they do everything they can (ideally) to help those communities. They do this by considering the inhabitants and people using the spaces when they design and to do their research to learn from previous mistakes of others planners. Unfortunately, this practice was only been brought to the spotlight in the late 20th century. If any of you have ever read Jane Jacobs book of “The Death and Life of Great American Cities”, you will see that this wasn’t always the case.
While telling us exactly what path to take, what to study and where to learn, is something neither one of these people could explicitly tell us, hearing how they ended up where they are and what drove them there was eye opening. As you can see, one of them was thrown into a new situation and made the best of it and is now a mover and shaker in her field. The other went down the path he was interested in but is constantly evolving and taking on new projects that stretch into a plethora of different disciplines that, contrary to popular belief, are all very important aspects of this field of work. This world is huge and if you make the right connections and are passionate about what you want to do then you will get there and whatever it is you end up with will be meaningful. The best advice we can give to you as well as ourselves is to learn as much as you can. Pay attention to every conversation, because everyone has something to teach you. Take in every sight, ask every question and meet everyone you can. The most influential and successful people are the ones that are able to find their passions in seamlessly tying together many different disciplines in harmony.
Someone call TMZ because suffice to say, this was probably some of the most meaningful and interesting celebrity sightings to date.

So I decided to analyze every single corner goal liverpool have conceded since the start of 16/17 to see if there was a pattern. There is.
Crossposting this from r/soccer, slightly changing up the language to be a bit less of a dick towards Liverpool
So as we all know Liverpool have gotten quite a lot of shit for a while now due to setpiece defending, corners in particular. I figured I'd try to find out where the problem seems to lie and whether it's more down to organization or just general incompetence.
Note: since not all of us easily recognize every player, let alone Hull City mids who are probably not even at the club any more, I'll usually be referring to them by the colors I assigned to them on my still images. If many of you find something particularly unclear then I will edit this post later.
1. Hull City (H): 3-1
Immediately we notice an odd setup: black is standing in no man’s land while yellow has to worry about 3 players potentially running into his zone. At the far post it’s a 2 vs 2 situation which is far from ideal. Black should be much further back to deal with no 25 and no 5s run as blue is already sufficient cover for his area. No 5 ends up in the duel which doesn’t get properly cleared. At this point green (Clyne) has completely let go of his man to track blue’s run which was entirely unnecessary. Woops.
2. Swansea (A): 1-0
This one actually isn’t bad. Blue covers the far post man so yellow can help in the center if needed, near post is completely harmless and there’s pretty much no chance for a Swansea overload anywhere, even in the center. However, blue ends up ballwatching too long and misses his man by about a yard, who heads it back for a rather unlikely tap in complete with questionable goalkeeping. However, during all this red lets his man chill in an extremely dangerous position at the far post.
3. West Brom (A): 2-1
Unlike the last example where 5 potential Liverpool players were able to provide cover in the centre, this time it’s only 4. Odd considering we’re talking about West Brom’s airforce here. I think having yellow take over blue’s zone to have blue as an extra man in the middle would have been better, since 2 men entirely dedicated to mark 1 near post man is overkill. A center player ends up rather impressively winning the aerial duel resulting in a goal.
4. Swansea (H): 0-1
Not keen on repeating the same mistake twice, Liverpool now use a whopping 6 men to defend against 3 men running into the center area. The downside is that Fernandez (a center back FYI) is covered by only Henderson who is 7 cm shorter and not exactly known for his heading ability. Unsurprisingly, Fernandez wins the aerial duel. After that, 4 liverpool defenders fail to cover 2 guys leading to the goal. Very alert guys. At least the closest one could have made an effort.
5. Hull City (A): 1-0
So this one is just terrible. Yellow (Henderson again) has to deal with 3 guys running into his area all by himself with only Emre Can even somewhat nearby to provide coverage. All the while 3 players + the goalkeeper are worried about 1 guy in the 6 yard box. What the hell was the plan here? Did they really think having 5 players run backwards was more efficient than covering their zones? Did a triple substitution just happen and Liverpool forgot to reassign the roles? Were they that convinced they would all go running towards the near post? (Actually we'll get to such a situation later). This also leads to Red having literally half of the penalty area all to himself a few seconds later. If the ball had dropped to that guy and he’d tapped it in it would have been talked about for ages. But alas, it took a far less threatening ball and a goalkeeper mistake instead.
It’s worth noting at this point that all 5 of these goals were indirect. None of them were assisted by the corner taker and they all needed an extra touch before leading to a shot. At least Liverpool don’t seem to give away too many threatening shots so far. It seems like a lot of these goals are just failed clearances landing at the right place.
6. Everton (H): 1-1
Everton’s short corner threat pulled Red out of position leading to a 3 vs 4 situation at the near post. Yellow has to worry about both his zone and helping out to deal with Lukaku if necessary. It seems Everton wanted to take advantage of this by trying to reach Lukaku indirectly, watch how the headed pass seems to be aimed wide and how Lukaku rather effortlessly moves past his man to get to the far post. So yellow makes the call to pull away from the center meaning green has to defend number 5 by himself. Unfortunately he (Firmino) wasn’t really paying attention and not only lets number 5 run but also fails to close down the goalscorer immediately after. All around just very bad defending by him. It seems like Koeman must agree that trying to head it through is the best way to score corners against this Liverpool side.
7. Crystal Palace (H): 1-2
The final goal Liverpool conceded in 16-17 and it’s by Benteke on a corner, how poetic. To be honest, this one seems okay as well, with what should be 2 people challenging Benteke in theory (Wijnaldum kind of leaves Can to it a second later), 3 vs 2 on the near post, no far post threat. The goal happens because a) somehow near post man gets a pass through that mess and b) yellow (Emre Can) didn’t think tracking the run of one of the biggest aerial threats in the league 9 meters from your goal was all that important. Note how blue (Lucas) sees Benteke coming but is stuck between deciding to cover the center or the guy annoying Mignolet. He makes the wrong call. Guys, either trust your goalkeeper to deal with the one fella or put a man there to help him out, none of this half and half shit.
8. Watford (A): 1-0
This one is odd. 4 vs 2 at the near post while blue is stuck defending 3 defenders at once (where have I seen that before?) There seems to be a communication error on who’s supposed to be picking up who. Green, red and blue end up all tracking blue and green target even though someone, probably red (Lovren), should have been tracking Okaka who runs off freely. Lovren and yellow (Firmino) seem to switch targets at the last second. By the time Firmino is with Okaka he is powerless to stop the 180 pound momentum carrying striker. Yet again, the goal took an extra touch to happen.
Also worth noting that despite 3 men accidentally doing the work of 2, they still manage to let Watford’s number 3 escape to the far post.
9. Watford (A): 3-3
Kind of similar to the previous goal, with a striker moving inwards leaving behind a pretty clueless defensive line. However this time they all run forward making the lack of response by Liverpool’s defense even more inexplicable. Maybe Liverpool were sick of leaving massive gaps at the far post they decided to stay there? Or maybe they were just knackered. Anyway, the goal itself seems questionable and rather flukey but it could have just as well been a near post header if the cross was better and Liverpool would have stood no chance yet again. Hell they didn’t even track this guy’s very late and far run, it’s like they knew they’d concede. Because they’re Liverpool, and that’s what they do. And we wouldn't want them any other way.
Conclusion: Liverpool aren’t great at defending corners, but surprisingly rarely do they ever concede a threatening shot directly from them. The fact that none of these corner kicks were assists is a pretty interesting and even kinda ridiculous stat. Most danger comes from bad defending by people who can’t be arsed tracking their man once they see the cross is landing somewhere else. This never happens through the middle, unless you’re West Brom in which case obviously the normal corner rules do not apply.
TL;DR: If you want to score a corner against Liverpool, aim for your biggest off center guy and let everyone else just run forward to score the inevitable tap in after it doesn’t get cleared.
Bonus: this didn't lead to a goal but it was still so unbelievably bad I found it worth mentioning: granting Harry Kane a comical amount of mouthbreathing space. Seriously, just look at this. Wow.
