So to get things straight, I'm no author, nor really good with words if I'm being honest, but I AM DEEPLY OBSESSED WITH EIGENMACHINES

MPREG in my head is actually just a secondary part for a much much larger thing within Project Anaximenes, yes, well they took Anaximander already so why not grab the similarly named guy

ANYWAYS

what's Project Anaximenes?

This is not real I JUST NEED TO SCREAM THIS BECAUSE I WROTE TOO MUCH FOR A FUNNY MPREG EIGENMACHINE JOKE

Project Anaximenes is a Project proposed by PHMD along with the cooperation of Site-17 and Pilcrow-Minkowski Multidisciplinary Division to basically breach into the storyline themselves and rewrite canon.

And they'll expect that the authors and readers of their narrative will counter this and thus create MPREG, a way to isolate their narrative from alterations whilst keeping their alterations intact.

The ideal narrative anchor.

I haven't made the narrative rewriting machine yet... And maybe never will :3

Anyways HERE'S THE BABBLE PART

P.M.C. Multidisciplinary Division employed different parts of the remaining hyperspecific applied metaphysical departments around the Foundation to basically conceptualize and construct the 2 machines for Project Anaximenes.

The person who designed it, is Director Renan Minkowski, Applied Metaphysician and the Head of Eigenmechanics, and yes Applied Metaphysics gotten employed to make Eigenmachines so much they have a whole division for that now

ANYWAYS REAL BABBLE TIME

What this entire thing is basically a giant metaphysical narrative gyroscope, you know how the Hero's Journey goes on a loop? Well what if you spin that cycle really really fast, maybe so fast that any alterations, any deviations, would just kick it back up to stability until it loses momentum

Narrative Momentum, "momentum" is basically an idea in storytelling I somewhat thought about, which is basically the sequence of events that keeps the story going, no gaps, no fillers, all relevant information to all the cycles of the monomyth, and if you keep that momentum up, you wouldn't be able to break it with a continuity change.

And this shit abuses the hell out of causality because of that.

Now to the specifics

This is basically converting Narrative potential, to Narrative momentum

Where do you get narrative potential?

Well... I wouldn't saaaayy.... Because it's very unethical sourcing but let's just say there's a certain group holding upon a certain narrative archetype that usually holds out such big protagonistic potential due to... Lets say unfortunate circumstances, and since this group is basically young... They don't have those energies released

And you can harvest those

And you can accelerate those narrative energies with a fate accelerator of some sort, or kismekinetic force

Transformed into a static normal narrative

And the narrative forces drive a differential forward

And spins the narrative gyroscope around

I’m gonna shove everything under the readmore but it’s finally time for me to yap about my transmasc Placeholder McDoctorate headcanons. Buckle up chucklefucks!!

INTEGER had already tore McDoctorate’s identity asunder. Cracked it open, scooped things out, left a gaping wound in its wake. A name that doesn’t belong to you, that you don’t want but can’t seem to get rid of, thats worn like a mockery and burned into you like a brand. And now everything feels off kilter. Because sometimes you get your identity abstracted and it opens all sorts of insecurities you didn’t even know you HAD till now.

Placeholder doesn’t really get Why things feel extra weird and bad until the building of the REISNO Cannon swings around in 2020. Because if anyones gonna get their egg cracked in a fucking causal loop its gonna be this guy LMAO. And that’s exactly what happens. Amidst the back and forths about the eigenmachine, Placeholder notices that this future self sounds… different? And is quite cheeky about it whenever asked! It gets Placeholder thinking about things, and before the connection is severed, future!Place nudges his past self in the direction of a certain Site-43 memeticist we all know and love. It leads him to properly meeting Lillihammer for the first time. Aaand also because if theres on thing I learned from Bury the Survivors is that memetics and countermemetics can spot an egg like it’s their job LMAOO. It’s there that he learns being trans is like,,, an option that he has and Realizes thats what he is.

And from there, transition becomes a matter of reclamation for him. A way to reclaim control over his identity and how people perceive him, after INTEGER took that away when it stole his name. He decides to undergo HRT and start T instead of using something like 113 because he wants to put that control directly in his own hands — wants to administer it to himself as a repeated assertion that he is in control of his identity. Also because his science nerd brain likes handling syringes with chemicals in them, thats an added bonus. AND he can track the changes and progress with CHARTS. He fucking loves charts and data.

While the name curse is still a problem and source of discomfort (it’s half the reason he insists people call him ‘Place’, even in professional settings, as it feels ever so slightly more ‘normal’), he regains some assemblence of control over himself. And he still ascribes to one day tear himself free, so that he can fucking choose a name.

The astute may notice unintended consequences in hinging him transitioning/realizing he's trans to the REISNO Cannon and yeag. yeag. para!Place still realizes, just a bit later and also In the paradox, but doesn't get the materials to transition until in Admoline; where he just synthesizes that shit mad science style because he spent twelve years wanting to eat glass about this tbh. Guy who has 100% injured his ribs with improper chest binding.

Theres a metaphor in here to realizing your trans while also living in a horrific situation that means you can't acquire the means to transition in a way thats make you feel comfortable with yourself. Stares into the camera. Anyways yeah there’s all my yowling about shenanigans thats been living in my head rent free for actual months

Hey i just wanna say first, thanks for introducing me to admonition. The idea of the foundation characters discovering their world is fictional and having the hubris to try to bend the rules of their fictional world is just SUCH a great take on the idea of “man vs god”

SECONDLY have you listened to Slide into the Void by The Stupendium because i feel like it fits Admonition almost to a T.

What's your favorite admonition scp?

Easiest question on Earth, SCP-7243 hands down. Imo 7243 is probably my favorite article on-site just in general. It's a deliciously written piece of character-centric writing that makes it really standout against the previous four main episodes because we actually feel for the characters in the situation. Previously it's been "Wow that's FUCKED" and the cool tech/parascience, but Existential Abatement comes in swinging with such heavy character focus there's a few times where I forgot there's TWO eigenmachines in this article. Like I remember re-reading it, hitting the description + main image of the SCP itself and going "Oh fuck right, there's an anomaly." and tbh it's peak. It's such peak. The braided storytelling, the character drama, the images, the mood fucking everything. And hey there's plot progression too! Reynders shows she's got involvement in said plot, and we get a tiny bit of insight in wtf PHMD is up to through the ending part. The final moment where Dougall walks into MAGIC DRAWER and Amelia's screaming is just. hough. god. its peak I'm sorry American I'm sorry Canda it is genuinely peak.
