They were hanging upside down from a tree, something that was made harder thanks to their mask. Their blood ran to their head and they held their mask in place, unwilling to risk letting it fall when someone could stumble across them but also not wanting to admit defeat to gravity.

They were trying to sort through their thoughts, usually they'd climb a tall building or something to clear their mind, but that wasn't an option right now, so they took one out of Spring's book and did this instead.

Of course, Spring didn't have to worry about the blood rushing to her head like they did, so it was arguable if they were actually getting anywhere.

It was strange. Everything felt lively, yet quiet. Things were definitely happening, but never where they were, and if anything big was happening, clearly no one felt the need to include them or ask for their help.

And that was fine.

That was what they told themselves, anyway. They had always intended to leave distance between them and the rest of the team. It was better that way, no one really needed to know them. Sure, V had accepted them, but there was no saying if anyone else would.

That logic didn't hold up as well as it used to. Not after everything that had happened, from the bots showing up to everything that was Halloween and so on.

They swung slightly back and forth, deep in thought. Honestly, they were distracted by their own thoughts and probably a bit too easy to sneak up on.

I recently discovered these blogs on my recommended, and was INSTANTLY captured by the dozens of stories, personalities, and intricate threads of lore. I will definitely make a neat little list of all of the blogs I have found thus far to make it easier for me to navigate this new universe.

At this point, we have no idea what to do about these people. We have like 5 medics. And double the amount of soldiers. We aren’t replacing anyone. We didn’t have anything to do with the creation of quiet Spycrab that is just a HUMAN BEING having fun on the internet. They saw something they liked, and they joined us. It wasn’t their fault that someone who left the server willingly decided that they had to be the only Spycrab. It’s not quiet crabs fault that the original Spycrab left. None of it was their fault, but they are getting the pain for it.

And they don’t deserve that. That is someone with thoughts and feelings. Someone with a life, dreams, and sorrows. Someone who found something, a community, that they wanted to add to, and got shot down for wanting to have fun, just like the rest of us.

We, the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual mercenaries are people. We are human beings. This is all for fun. If you have personal beef with someone, don’t take it public, don’t soil the name of an entire community because you find distaste with one.

There are people behind the screens. Behind the blogs. And they don’t deserve what you people are saying to them because a small group of people decided that one day a group THEY joined WILLINGLY with ZERO STRINGS attached wasn’t good enough for them.

Please, have some SEMBLANCE of humanity, because they are trying their very best.

It's the same, loud engine again. This time though, V is happy to be on it. Happy to be out. The sun is setting over the horizon and she speeds openly over the abandoned desert road. She's learned that no one bothers to monitor the roads like these. The daily heat is beginning to die away as the sky transitions from bright blue to a soft purple.

She's finally found the time and energy to ride back out to talk to Esme. With two legible copies of A Wrinkle In Time no less!

You've outdone yourself this time. Remembering to talk to your friends? Unheard of!

She pulls around to the front of the greenhouse, gentler with her arrival this time. She parks the motorcycle and takes off her helmet, trading it for the books.
