RIGHT?!?! and they lived happily ever after in love 🤪😘
Tumblr media
Haha, I definitely had way too much fun writing this one 😂 I absolutely loved the idea, and honestly—even if it’s not my best work—I don’t even care because I enjoyed every second of it 🤭
So let’s just dive right in, shall we? 😉 Hope you enjoy it, love 💕
Tropes & warnings: William Nylander x reader, Rasmus Sandin's sister - friends to lovers, alcohol consumption, soft!willy & ofc protective!Willy, mention of sexual intercourse, language
Words count: 4.4K
My Girl I William Nylander (ft. Rasmus Sandin) ✐
Rasmus Sandin was everything you loved and hated in equal measure.
Your brother, your rival, your favourite punching bag and your fiercest protector—all rolled into one maddening, irreplaceable person. Two years older, and he never let you forget it. Growing up, everything was a competition: who could sprint fastest through the snow, who could score more goals in the driveway, who could get under Mum’s skin quicker.
You fought over stupid things and made up just as fast. You stole his hoodies and he changed your phone background to the worst selfies imaginable. But the moment someone else tried to mess with you? Rasmus was there. No hesitation. No questions asked. He’d step in with that fire in his eyes like don’t you dare touch what’s mine.
He was your safe place before you even knew what one was.
And as you both got older, his world started expanding—and so did yours.
When Rasmus was drafted to the Leafs in 2018, everything changed. He wasn’t just your annoying older brother anymore—he was playing pro hockey in Toronto. By the time the 2019–2020 season rolled around, he was wearing blue and white for real, living in a downtown apartment he shared with none other than William Nylander.
That’s when you met him properly.
William wasn’t just the funny guy from Rasmus’ training camp stories anymore. He was there. The quiet one with the sharp eyes and even sharper sense of humour. He had the charm, sure—but not the kind that made you feel small or like a joke. William was the type to ask how you were really doing, to remember the answer the next time you saw him.
At first, you figured he was just being polite. Friendly. You were Rasmus’ sister, after all. That came with certain unspoken rules.
But then he kept asking if you’d be at the games. If you were coming to team dinners. If you wanted to hang out after practice. He started texting you out of the blue—sending you memes, TikToks, photos of Rasmus doing something dumb at home. Little things. But they added up.
You didn’t live in Toronto, but you spent a lot of time there during that first season. And the more time you spent around William, the harder it became to tell where friendship ended and something else quietly began.
Rasmus never questioned it. He’d known William since 2016, long before he was a Leaf. He trusted him completely. To him, William’s attentiveness was just typical Willy—loyal to a fault, always looking after his people.
You were part of those people now. That was all.
But to you, William started becoming more than just part of Rasmus’ world.
He became yours too.
And you tried—God, you tried—not to read into it. Not to hope for something more. You told yourself over and over that he only saw you as Rasmus’ sister. That he was kind to everyone. That he was just being nice.
But it got harder to believe that when he made sure your coffee order was already waiting in the car after morning skate.
When he pulled you aside at team events because he could tell you were overwhelmed.
When he watched you laugh across a crowded room like he couldn’t look away.
One night during the second season—early on, when you were still trying to prove you could hang in the Toronto scene—Rasmus had invited you out for drinks with the team. You didn’t want to be the little sister clinging to the edges of the group, so you drank more than you should’ve. Tried too hard to keep up with guys who were built like machines and used to the lifestyle.
By the time you stepped outside, the city lights were spinning, and the sidewalk didn’t feel quite steady beneath your feet.
“Hey,” a voice said, gentle but firm. “You good?”
You blinked up at William, dazed. “I think the tequila won.”
He smiled, just a little, and offered his arm. “Come on. Let’s get you back to the apartment.”
You vaguely remembered leaning on him in the Uber. Him helping you out of your shoes. A glass of water pressed into your hands. William sitting beside you on the couch until you fell asleep.
When you woke up the next morning, head pounding and cheeks flushed with embarrassment, you found a glass of juice, two Advil  on the coffee table, and a text message.
Don’t try to outdrink NHL players. We’re trained for this. —W
Your heart thudded for reasons that had nothing to do with the hangover.
From that day on, things between you shifted. Slowly, quietly, without ever being said out loud.
William became your best friend in Toronto—second only to Rasmus. Someone you could talk to about anything. The kind of friend who noticed when your smile didn’t quite reach your eyes. The one you could sit in total silence with and still feel seen.
You helped him through the ups and downs of his relationship, offered advice you pretended didn’t sting to give. You held back your feelings with both hands because friendship was better than nothing. And because you were scared that crossing that line might ruin everything.
You were good at ignoring the ache. At pretending.
But William?
William had always been harder to read.
And sometimes—just sometimes—you wondered if he was pretending, too.
_
Now, a few years later, things looked a little different.
Rasmus had been traded to Washington a couple of seasons ago. He’d adjusted quickly—new team, new city, new phase of his career—but you knew there was still a piece of him that missed Toronto. The friendships he’d built here, the sense of home. William.
You came with him this time. It was your tradition, sort of. When the Capitals played in Toronto, you flew in to support him. You weren’t staying long, just a long weekend, but it felt like coming back to something familiar.
Rasmus had warned you the Leafs were on a hot streak—“don’t get your hopes up,” he muttered as you zipped up your jacket before heading to Scotiabank Arena. And sure enough, the Leafs pulled off a win.
Still, it was a good night. You hugged your brother after the game, stole one of his hoodies like old times, and stood in the hallway near the players’ lounge catching up with William, who’d already loosened his tie and had that flushed, post-game glow.
“You staying for the Sens game tomorrow?” he asked, tipping his chin toward you as he leaned against the wall, still catching his breath from the ice.
“Thinking about it,” you replied, smiling. “Unless you think I’ll jinx you again.”
He grinned, eyes flicking over your face. “You can jinx me anytime you want.”
You blinked. He said it like a joke. He always said things like that like a joke.
Except tonight… it didn’t feel like one.
You ended up staying.
The next night, the Leafs lost to Ottawa in overtime. William was annoyed, not outwardly, but you could tell. He had that subtle edge to him—quieter, more withdrawn. Still, when someone suggested going out for a few drinks, he nodded. “Yeah,” he said, glancing at you. “Let’s go.”
You weren’t even sure what felt different about the night—just that it was. The atmosphere was looser. Everyone seemed a little more grown-up, less reckless than they’d been in those early Toronto days.
You weren’t Rasmus’ teenage sister anymore, either.
You felt good tonight—comfortable in your skin, confident in a way you hadn’t always been around the team. Maybe that’s why you didn’t think twice when someone from the Senators’ roster slid into your space by the bar.
He was charming at first. Too charming. Smiling a little too wide, talking a little too close. You tried to laugh it off. To shift away. To politely decline.
But he didn’t take the hint.
“You sure about that?” he said, tilting his head. “Because I’ve seen the way you look at me.”
“I haven’t been looking at you,” you said calmly. “And I’ve already said no.”
“C’mon, just one drink—”
“Sorry,” a voice cut in, low and measured, “but my girl said no.”
You froze.
The tone was calm, sure, but it was laced with something unfamiliar—something sharp, protective, and entirely unshakable.
You turned toward the voice, pulse quickening.
William stood behind you, hands at his sides, posture relaxed in that effortlessly cool way he always carried himself. But his eyes—those were different. Steady. Cold. Focused entirely on the man standing a little too close to you.
The Senator—some third-line winger with a smug smirk—raised his brows, looking between you and William with amused detachment.
“Didn’t realise she was taken.”
William’s jaw flexed. “She is.” He didnt blink. “By me.”
The guy gave a snort, clearly not taking any of it seriously, and backed off with a casual shrug, disappearing into the crowd with his drink and his ego intact.
But you stood there, frozen, as the weight of William’s words hung thick in the air between you.
My girl.
You blinked at him. “By you?”
William’s eyes softened when they met yours, but there was no trace of hesitation in them. “Yeah,” he said quietly. “By me.”
Your stomach flipped. It was like everything you’d tried to suppress—every late-night text, every subtle glance, every shoulder brush and shared silence—had suddenly broken through the surface.
“Is that… new?” you asked, your voice barely audible over the hum of music and laughter around you.
He gave you a small smile. The kind he only gave when it was just you and him and no one else watching. “I don’t think so.”
You stood there for a second, still rooted to the spot, processing the words. The way he said them so calmly, like it wasn’t something monumental. Like it hadn’t just shaken the foundation of everything you thought was settled between you.
You let out a slow breath. “So, what now?”
William glanced around the bar, then looked back at you, tucking one hand gently into the pocket of his jacket. “We could stay and pretend like nothing happened.”
You arched a brow. “You think I could actually do that?”
He smiled again, a little more mischievous this time. “Didn’t think so.”
You laughed—nervous, but real. Then, without another word, he reached for your hand. Not forcefully. Not dramatically. Just… casually. Like he’d done it a hundred times before.
You let him.
You didn’t say anything as he laced his fingers through yours and gave a light tug, leading you through the bar. Past the crowd, past the flashing lights, past your brother, who—thankfully—hadn’t witnessed any of that.
The moment the door shut behind you, the cold night air hit your cheeks, sharp and sobering. But you didn’t feel unsteady. Not this time.
William stopped at the edge of the sidewalk, turning to face you.
His hand was still in yours.
“I didn’t plan on saying anything tonight,” he admitted, voice low, almost lost to the sounds of traffic in the distance. “But when I saw him not backing off…”
Your heart thudded. “You didn’t like it.”
“I didn’t like how he made you look,” William said, eyes searching yours. “Like you wanted to disappear. And I’ve never seen you look like that.”
You swallowed hard. “And calling me your girl…?”
“Felt right,” he said simply. “Did it feel wrong to you?”
“No,” you whispered.
And then he stepped closer. Not hesitating. Not unsure. He reached up, his knuckles brushing your cheek, his touch featherlight.
“I should’ve said something sooner.”
You leaned in without even realising you were doing it. “Yeah,” you murmured. “You should’ve.”
His lips twitched. “You mad?”
“I’ll let you make it up to me.”
William grinned. “Deal.”
Then he kissed you.
Soft at first. Like he didn’t want to spook you. Like he was making sure you had every chance to pull away.
You didn’t.
You leaned into him, hands curling in his jacket, heart pounding as the kiss deepened—not desperate, but certain. Years of stolen glances and unsaid words finally blooming into something real.
When you broke apart, his forehead rested against yours, both of you a little breathless.
“Rasmus is going to lose his shit,” you said.
William chuckled. “He’ll be fine.”
“You sure?”
He kissed your cheek. “Not even a little.”
You laughed, and he squeezed your hand. “Come on. Let’s get out of here.”
And as he led you down the sidewalk, the world suddenly felt a little quieter. A little steadier. Like you’d finally found your place.
Right next to him.
The condo was still and quiet when you walked in, save for the faint hum of the city outside the windows. William locked the door behind you, tossing his keys into the dish by the entrance with a soft clink.
Neither of you said much.
You slipped off your coat, your fingertips tingling with anticipation. He hung his up beside yours, then turned to face you—and for a second, neither of you moved.
It wasn’t awkward. It was charged.
Years of friendship, of toeing the line, of pretending—all of it—sat in the small space between your bodies, crackling like static.
William stepped toward you slowly, like he didn’t want to rush this. Like he already knew this moment was going to live in his memory for a long, long time.
“You okay?” he asked softly, voice thick with emotion.
You nodded. “Are you?”
“I’ve never been more sure about anything.”
That’s when you closed the distance, your hands finding the hem of his shirt as your mouth found his again—more sure, more urgent now. He responded instantly, his hands settling on your waist, pulling you closer until your bodies met in the middle.
You could feel his heartbeat under your palms, fast and steady.
“Do you know,” you whispered between kisses, “how long I’ve wanted this?”
William pulled back just enough to meet your gaze. “Probably not as long as I have.”
You smiled, breathless, as he guided you through the living room toward the bedroom, pausing only to press his lips to yours again, and again—like he couldn’t quite believe this was real. Like he was making up for lost time.
The moment you stepped into his room, it felt natural. Familiar. Like you’d already been there a hundred times—but this time was different.
He helped you out of your sweater, fingers brushing lightly across your arms, his touch reverent. When you reached for the buttons on his shirt, he stilled your hands with his own.
“Hey,” he said, voice low. “We don’t have to rush this. We don’t have to do anything tonight.”
You looked up at him, heart full. “I want to. With you.”
That was all he needed.
The rest of your clothes fell away slowly, not in a blur but in a sequence of soft, deliberate touches—every movement quiet, careful, like unwrapping something fragile. His mouth traced every inch of your skin like he was learning it from scratch, like he’d waited so long he didn’t want to miss a single detail.
There was no performance. No pressure.
Just warmth. Soft laughter between kisses. Foreheads pressed together. Gasps shared under tangled sheets and whispered promises exchanged with fingertips on bare skin.
At one point, William paused, his thumb brushing along your jaw. “You still good?” he murmured.
You nodded, whispering his name, and pulled him back in.
It wasn’t just sex.
It was a culmination. A release. A confession you’d both been too scared to voice until now. You moved in sync, every shift and sigh answering a question that had hung between you for years.
Afterward, you lay there with your head on his chest, his fingers drawing slow circles across your spine, the silence no longer heavy but full.
“Okay,” you said after a long stretch of quiet. “That was…”
He glanced down. “Yeah?”
You tilted your chin, meeting his gaze. “Really damn worth the wait.”
William grinned, kissed your forehead, and pulled you a little closer. “Told you I’d make it up to you.”
_
The morning light filtered in through the curtains, soft and golden, warming the space between tangled sheets and quiet breathing. You stirred against the familiar rhythm of William’s chest rising and falling beneath your cheek, your limbs still lazily draped across his.
It was peaceful. Cosy. Your entire body was sore in the best way, and your mind floated somewhere between sleep and satisfaction.
William shifted slightly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Mornin’,” he murmured, voice thick with sleep.
You hummed, eyes still closed. “If this is a dream, I’m suing someone when I wake up.”
He chuckled, low and warm. “You’re very real. Trust me.”
You were just about to kiss him again—slow and soft, like it was the only thing that mattered—when the click of the front door echoed through the condo.
William froze. You blinked.
And then came his voice.
“Yo, Willy? You awake? I brought coffee.”
Your entire body locked up. William sat up like someone had electrocuted him.
“Shit.”
Your heart dropped to your stomach. “RAS?”
William jumped out of bed, grabbing his hoodie and pulling it over his head in a panic. “He wasn’t supposed to come until eleven!”
You grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around yourself like a human burrito. “What do I do?! Where do I go?!”
William looked around the room, wild-eyed. “Uh—closet?”
You stared at him. “I’m not hiding in a closet like this is some bad high school rom-com.”
“Okay, then under the bed?!”
“WILLIAM.”
His eyes darted to the ensuite bathroom. “There. Just—just go in there and lock the door. I’ll distract him.”
You didn’t have time to argue. You grabbed your clothes off the floor, scampered into the bathroom, and softly closed the door just as Rasmus’ voice got louder.
“I swear to God, if you’re still asleep I’m leaving without you,” he called, his footsteps coming closer.
William cracked the bedroom door and stepped out, running a hand through his hair like he could somehow will himself to look casual.
“Hey, man.”
Rasmus frowned. “You just woke up? I texted you twenty minutes ago.”
William forced a yawn and leaned against the doorframe. “Yeah. Long night.”
You sat in the bathroom, clutching your shirt to your chest, trying not to breathe too loudly.
“Is someone here?” Rasmus asked suddenly, peering past William toward the bedroom.
“Nope,” William said way too fast. “Why would someone be here?”
“I heard something. Like… a door close.”
William shrugged. “Window. Wind. I dunno, man.”
There was a beat of silence. Then: “Wait. Is there a girl here?”
William cleared his throat. “Define ‘here.’”
“Oh my god. You do—you hooked up last night?”
You facepalmed.
“Well,” Rasmus continued with a smirk, “good for you, I guess. Wait—do I know her? Who is it? Someone from the bar?”
William looked like he was going to combust. “Dude, don’t worry about it.”
“I am worrying about it,” Rasmus said, crossing his arms. “This is my best friend. In my former apartment. I deserve details.”
Your phone vibrated in your hand with a text from William:
he’s not leaving. SOS. u ok in there??
You typed back with trembling thumbs.
I’m hiding in your damn bathroom with your hoodie and zero dignity.
“Okay, you’re being weird,” Rasmus said. “You’re always weird but now you’re avoidance weird. I’m going in there—”
William panicked. “NO!”
Rasmus froze. “Why not?”
“Because,” William said, his voice cracking slightly, “because I… spilt protein powder everywhere.”
There was a pause.
“William, what the hell is going on—”
The bathroom door opened slowly.
You stepped out in his hoodie, makeup smudged from sleep, bare legs and messy hair giving away everything. You weren’t even sure why you did it. Maybe it was the sheer ridiculousness of hiding like a teenager, or maybe it was the look on William’s face—cornered, panicked, helpless.
Either way, it was too late to turn back now.
Rasmus blinked. His eyes dropped to the hoodie. Then to your face. Then to William.
The silence was deafening.
“WHAT THE ACTUAL F—”
“Okay, okay!” William practically launched himself between you and Rasmus like a human shield. “Just—let’s all take a deep breath.”
“You’ve gotta be joking,” Rasmus said, eyes wide, voice rising. “YOU AND HER? IN YOUR BEDROOM?”
“I mean,” you said weakly, “it’s not like it’s the first time I’ve been in his apartment—”
“Not helping,” William muttered.
“How long has this been going on?!” Rasmus demanded, hands flailing. “What happened to bro code? What happened to boundaries? And you—” he pointed at you, “—you’re supposed to tell me when you’re secretly hooking up with my best friend!”
“I wasn’t aware we were scheduling announcements,” you said flatly.
“I lived with you,” Rasmus said to William, still spiralling. “I trusted you. I defended you. I told people you were like a brother!”
William winced. “To be fair, this is kind of your fault. You introduced us.”
“I’m going to pass out.”
“Okay,” William said, clapping a hand on his shoulder. “Deep breaths. Remember the skating plan? You love skating.”
“You love ruining my life!”
William turned to you quickly, voice low. “I’m gonna get him out of here before he actually combusts. Stay. Chill. I’ll text you.”
You nodded, trying not to laugh as Rasmus muttered what sounded like Swedish curses under his breath and slapped William’s arm away.
“Touch me again and I swear to God I’ll throw your skates in the lake.”
“I love you too, man.”
Within a minute, the front door closed behind them, and the condo fell blissfully silent.
You let out the breath you hadn’t realised you were holding.
Your phone buzzed with a message from William.
okay that could’ve gone worse 😅 take your time. shower’s yours. spare key is in the drawer by the sink—just lock up behind you. also, I’m in love with you, in case that wasn’t obvious. ❤️
You smiled, warmth blooming through your chest as you set your phone down and padded toward the bathroom.
Despite everything—despite your brother very nearly imploding this morning—it still felt like the best possible kind of disaster.
And honestly?
You wouldn’t change a thing.
_
It wasn’t until halfway through their friendly skate at the outdoor rink that the other guys started noticing it.
“Okay,” Calle Järnkrok said, gliding up beside Rasmus with his stick resting lazily on his shoulder. “What’s up with you and Willy? Did he forget your birthday or chirp your flow or something?”
Rasmus didn’t look up from retying his skates, jaw clenched like he was one wrong word away from snapping his stick in half.
“Nothing.”
Calle raised a brow. “You sure? ’Cause you’re staring at him like he borrowed your car and returned it without the brakes.”
“He didn’t borrow my car.”
“But he did something?”
Rasmus let out a long, frustrated sigh. “He’s just… being William.”
Calle smirked. “Did ‘being William’ include sleeping with your sister?”
Rasmus choked mid-breath.
“How do you know?!”
Calle laughed. “Bro. You stormed out of his apartment this morning like it was on fire, and he’s been walking around grinning like he just scored the game-winner at the Olympics. Everyone knows.”
Rasmus muttered something in Swedish that Calle wisely chose not to respond to, and skated off with enough force to spray snow halfway down the rink.
You were the last to arrive at dinner.
The group had gathered at your favourite cozy restaurant in Toronto, a mix of Leafs, Caps, and a handful of mutual friends. You spotted Rasmus immediately—arms folded, expression grim, sipping a beer like it personally wronged him—and William beside him, visibly trying not to smirk.
You slid into the seat across from them, offering your brother a cautious smile.
“Hey.”
Rasmus gave you a stiff nod. “Hi.”
A heavy pause settled over the table.
“I like your hoodie,” you added lightly.
“It’s his hoodie,” Rasmus muttered, eyes narrowing at William. “I know it’s his hoodie.”
Calle, seated beside him, let out a bark of laughter. “God, this is better than Netflix.”
Dinner continued mostly without incident—mostly. The food was great, the wine even better, and the table was loud with stories and laughter… all except for Rasmus, who hadn’t smiled once.
When dessert arrived, he set down his fork and cleared his throat.
Everyone quieted instantly.
He looked between you and William, jaw tight, clearly running through whatever speech he’d practiced in his head a dozen times since that morning.
“I’ve been thinking about this all day,” he said, voice serious. “And I’ve come to a conclusion.”
William shifted in his seat. You sat a little straighter.
“Yeah?” you asked.
“I hate it.”
“Ras—”
“No, let me finish,” he cut in, raising a hand. “I hate that I walked into my best friend’s place and found my baby sister creeping out of his bedroom. I hate that I had to process all of that before I’d even had my first coffee. And I hate that you made me experience every protective older brother cliché in one single, horrific morning.”
You bit the inside of your cheek to stop from smiling.
Then Rasmus turned to William, and the mood shifted ever so slightly.
“But,” he said, quieter now, “I also know you. And I know you care about the people in your life more than most guys in this league. And I know you’d never hurt her.”
William met his eyes. “I wouldn’t.”
“And if you do,” Rasmus added, deadly serious, “I will personally bodycheck you into next season.”
William nodded solemnly. “Fair.”
You blinked. “Wait… is that your way of giving us your blessing?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“But you implied it.”
“I implied nothing.”
“You implied everything,” Calle said, grinning into his drink. “We all heard it.”
Rasmus rolled his eyes and picked up his beer again. “Whatever. Just don’t make me witness any PDA or I swear I’ll eat dinner in the kitchen.”
You grinned, leaned over, and pressed a kiss to William’s cheek.
Rasmus dropped his fork like it physically pained him. “You’re both dead to me.”
The table erupted with laughter.
But later—when the noise had softened into background chatter, and everyone was leaning back full and happy—you caught your brother watching you and William with something that wasn’t quite a glare.
It was quieter than that. A little weary. A little soft.
Like a surrender.
Like trust.
The kind that only comes from someone who loves you both.
And that was more than enough.

I love inventing terrible in universe fandom drama.
Gavintwt fell into a couple months of terrible discourse about Klavier’s sexuality. people argue about whether he's gay or just queerbaiting and then people argue about how this is invasive actually and real people can't queerbait and Klavier is just openly queer the whole time with a song literally titled "my boyfriend is the prosecution's witness". blissfully unaware.
There's a trend of Gavinner stans committing crimes or messing with crime scenes just to be prosecuted/called as a witness by Klavier. he has to put out a formal statement imploring his fans to pursue other methods of getting his attention:
Tumblr media
just. please. stop. please.
A few years after the disbarment someone digs up an old viral post that's like
📖 tilthat February 15, 2018 TIL that during a case in 2016, a defense attorney cross-examined a parrot during the final day of court. The defense won the case. 🐢 tortise-law February 15, 2018 Sit your ass the hell down this motherfucker's name is fucking Phoenix Wright and you don't understand how fucking batshit that case is. He was defending prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, who he had previously DESTROYED THE PERFECT RECORD OF. And it STARTS with Wright proving a witness didn't actually see the murder because they were searching for the goddamned Loch Ness Monster. And not only that, the case ends with him ACCUSING THE OTHER PROSECUTOR, MANFRED VON KARMA, OF ORCHESTRATING THE WHOLE MURDER AND KILLING EDGEWORTH'S FATHER. AND HE WAS RIGHT???? LIKE???? 🎩 gay-ramarye February 16, 2018 holy shit reading this guy's wiki page is a fucking trip. not only does he have a perfect win record, that defendant immediately followed this up with FAKING HIS OWN DEATH??? spacejamminninja-deactivated2018 February 16, 2018 How is this not a tv show already. What the hell do you mean he faked his death 🪶 is-the-hawk-video-cute February 17, 2018 tbh if my defense attorney cross examined a parrot and accused the opposing counsel i'd fake my death too 🌸 pinkprincess February 18, 2018 japanifornia cases are just Like That i have never heard of a normal one.
and gavinblr suddenly realizes that that was the dude Klavier got DISBARRED a couple years ago. viral sensation parrot cross-examiner Phoenix Wright. the fandom goes crazy for a few days but then Klavier does a new photoshoot and they all move on.
A post joking about shipping Klavier’s brother with the guy Klavier got disbarred becomes a huge meme in gavinblr and a subsection begins writing ironic Krisnix RPF that progressively becomes genuine and then turnabout trump happens and the fandom explodes again. Half the Krisnix shippers jump ship to Klapollo because they felt weird about shipping a murderer (and did you SEE the Kitaki case? Klavier was sooo flirting with the defense <3). The other half doubled down and reveled in the angst potential. Part of the Klapollo shippers started truthing. They study court transcripts to prove that Klavier and Apollo are in love if not already dating. Unfortunately they’re right.

i do have a bit of a guilty pleasure for those "character's social media" posts but i never actually rb any because i always feel like theyre so unrealistically curated that it takes me out djshdjhdkjsk so it got me to thinking about the pitt character's social media usage. um. here's some thoughts. enjoy

mohan
has an instagram page, but not the app, she deleted it sometime in med school. sometimes re-downloads it, but seeing everybody she knew and having to update on her life fills her with so much anxiety that she deletes it again. icon is her childhood cat and her page has a handful of random posts from high school and undergrad w/ minimal captions, but that's it.
linkedin warrior. she loved linkedin, huge linkedin advocate. fell off after she started residency, and has a sort of hatred towards it that makes her feel like she's betrayed herself.
pinterest where she keeps boards that make her feel inspired. quotes, imagery of who she wants to be and what the space she wants around her to look like.
storygraph, not goodreads because she doesn't want to support amazon. always sets her yearly reading goal so high that she cannot possibly reach it - i.e. she reads 5 books one year, that means she should be able to read 20 the next. disappoints herself and ends up avoiding reading altogether because of it. needs to delete storygraph or stop setting a goal.
santos
instagram is sporadically updated, aims to look sarcastic and cute. posts only reach back to the end of medical school, she archived everything before that.
tumblr. absolutely a tumblr user. account was made when she was in middle school, and i'm gonna say it was for the purpose of posing about xena warrior princess, buffy and supernatural. now is kind of just an aesthetic blog, for the most part. can go months without posting then will reappear, post like 30 unfiltered thoughts in a row, and disappear.
private twitter she made in undergrad, yaps and yaps and yaps. way to stay connected with both irl and online friends.
tiktok addict... she goes to sleep doomscrolling.
DOES have a linkedin she was forced to make for a class in undergrad. no profile picture, no information besides her name, and her only post says "balls" (mohan is scandalized bc "trinity! this is going to show up when people search your name" "(shrug) hasn't been a problem")

active on both instagram and tiktok, sporadically posts fit checks. has a pretty good amount of people following her. feed curated so she can look mysterious and cool, captions often quotes or song lyrics. posts photo dumps and random thoughts on her close friends story a lot.
fitness tracker apps - loves myfitnesspal. she does, in fact, track her food each day to make sure that she's eating enough. finds it to be a really helpful reminder with a busy schedule.
linkedin casual. it's professional, it works. it exists, but she doesn't like posting on it. tries to post once every few months or so - maybe about publications or job updates.
still uses snapchat, got into the habit in high school and some of her friends are still pretty active w it
private twitter where she occasionally posts, mostly just retweets stuff that makes her laugh. santos and ellis follow each other, ellis absolutely terrorizes santos in her replies.
abbot
you will find nothing except a facebook that hasn't had consistent posts since his spouse died (~2013?). a lot of it is posts of them, from them. some shares of memes or interesting news, in between. since they died, there's a sporadic photos from his life but it's maybe a handful of posts. he only started posting again in 2015, and hasn't posted since 2018. every year on his birthday, a splatter of people still wish him a happy birthday.
somewhere out there, there is a twitter he made in 2008 under a handle that has nothing to do with his name. he has noooo clue what the username or password is. my omniscient self says there's a few retweets and maybe a tweet making a stupid joke before he abandoned it almost immediately.
not exactly social media but: huge physical media advocate, only has some music on his phone as like. "commute music." but otherwise likes collecting vinyl and CDs. refuses to subscribe to streaming services. knows how to torrent and will only watch tv/film that way, besides going to the cinema or finding stuff on places like the internet archive/going to the library.
collins
has an instagram she sporadically posts on, posts go back to 2012. mostly posts scenery pics. her profile photo is a candid that robby took when they went on a trip somewhere pretty and scenic together. she hasn't really posted as much since they broke up (~2021, heather starts residency at ptmc next year) because every time she looks at that profile picture, it stings. she hasn't really had time to think about changing it with finishing up med school at the time and starting residency, and she's at a point where she doesn't really want to change it. it was a fond memory. anyway... hasn't made a post since 2022, but sometimes opens it up and reposts something in her story.
linkedin that used to be more active in her undergrad and finance days, keeps it updated.
facebook she posts on a few times a year, probably. just has it for family, at this point. photos from important events, comments on family's posts, some reposts of stuff she found interesting/funny.
robby
younger robby was a punk and he was active on forums specific to his interests - focusing on different bands, world & american politics, the punk scene specifically.
made a twitter in 2008, still sporadically active. likes to post "witty" commentary and mostly retweets things he finds funny or politics.
has a facebook that he used to be extremely active on when he made it (adhd farmville addict). has not posted in a few years.
instagram with maybe about 5 posts from 2012-2014. has some tags from heather, posts that he logged in only to like and comment on. profile picture is also him from around that time, trying to look cool with sunglasses on. bio is some quote from a classic book.
goodreads - reads a lot, actually, and wants to catalog and review each book. sets a goal of about 20 books per year, and often exceeds it. pretentious commentary is his fav thing to add to a goodreads book's review section.

Six years ago today, I cried seeing this livestream for the first time.
Six years ago today, I was jumpscared coming home from another day at middle school with Failboat preparing to stream the 3DS Miitopia Finale in its entirety. I spent the rest of my afternoon that day watching Dan conclude that chapter of the series in the best way he could’ve at the time. And it was awesome.
Six years later, this silly little sendoff still gets me emotional. Six years later, I’m days away from graduating high school, knowing that a third installment of the Failboat Mii Making Lore is coming out around the next year. It’s funny, back when this was first being streamed, I wasn’t even sure we would really get a Season 2.
I remember being so confused on why Dan would make Mar of all people the Dark Curse after multiple streams of him asking when he had the chance to make a new character again, everyone had no clue at the time just how vital Mar as the first Dark Curse would be to NEW Miitopia. Dan had also brought up the idea of a “where are they now?” segment with The FailFleet Miis constantly, especially during the finale…
…and now, over 6 years later irl and 33 years in-universe, we just might be able to see that segment and so much more play out with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. Chances are, this is gonna be the last anniversary of Famiily being streamed where we don’t have official timeskip lore for the Non-Incident members of the group. I’ve waited so long for more canon content with these guys, that actually getting future stuff with them confirmed just doesn’t feel real to me!
I was so excited seeing Erica and Chi (+ C!Fail) make their grand returns in Failtopia S2. Even if the S1 Miis aren’t considered fan favorites (apart from Rose, and even then just barely) like those characters were even back then, I’m hoping with how long it’s been since we’ve seen the rest of The FailFleet Miis, along with the crumbs of lore we do have on them all having so much potential, that their returns are just as spectacular and worth the wait! For the longest time I thought Dan just wouldn’t care about the non-fan favorite S1 cast, but it seems like the new Tomodachi announcement had reignited his passion for The FailFleet Miis! Like, I saw that enthusiasm personally! that being said, I would NOT blame him if he decides to find some excuse to write Joker out in S3.
If I learned anything from that conversation with Daniel lore-wise, it’s that he’s cooking up something good with the characters in Living the Dream! Honestly, I can’t wait to see what all the characters from both seasons are up to in the year 2051! I was iffy on the timeskip at first, but it’s starting to grow on me!!
Bringing this back to Famiily… I just can’t stress enough how much I love Failboat’s 3DS Miitopia series as a whole!! Yes, it’s very obviously 2018/2019 with the memes and characters on his file. Daniel’s commentary and voice acting can be kinda cringy, some of the lore he makes up on the spot can suck, he pads out the story a bit with random side quests cuz he wasn’t ready to end things off, it created the Furrboat bit (which i don’t mind personally but still)… and I still love and cherish it with all my heart. I can’t think of many fandoms out there that make me want to know the whereabouts of goofy looking knockoff characters inspired by Lancer Deltarune and Shrek. I understand why people generally skip S1 when getting into Failtopia nowadays, and maybe this is my bias talking since I remember when it was only S1 and the fan content was next to nothing, but I really recommend giving it a watch if you can handle watching 2018 Era Failboat play a video game for over 24 hours!!
also can I just say that with what we know about both canon Failboat Lore and fanon stuff….. that title is so ironic dude TFFM are NOT a healthy group in the slightest. It’s a bit hilarious to me that the name he chose for the final episode was that 😭

the results of the byler survey: part 1 and 2
Tumblr media
thank you to everyone who participated in this survey. in the end, i got 346 responders after leaving it open for around a week.
if you don't want to see a long post and you have twitter, the thread i made with the exact same information/commentary is here. but let's get on with it!
(if you've read this all and missed the link at the bottom, here's the link to part 2 of this breakdown)
part 1: being a byler shipper
what season did you start shipping byler?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the most popular result was season 2, with 27.9% of people voting for it! this was closely followed by s2 vol 1 (25.5%), season 3 (19.9%), season 4 vol 2 (15.5%) and season 1 (11.1%) in last place. without splitting the volumes, most people (41.1%) started shipping byler during season 4!
what year did you start shipping byler?
Tumblr media
most people (56.9%) started shipping byler from 2022-2025. shoutout to the 8.5% of people who started shipping in 2016-2017! 16% of people started shipping in 2018-2019, and 18.7% in 2020-2021.
where are you currently consuming byler content?
Tumblr media
there were a few write-in answers for this, which i tried to include in the graph! twitter (82%), tiktok (77.6%) and tumblr (77%) are the most popular websites. this also reveals the sample size bias as i only promoted this on twitter and tumblr, with more people replying to my original tweet than my original tumblr post. so take everything with a grain of salt!
where have you consumed byler content in the past?
Tumblr media
not huge changes from the last question - this might've been confusingly worded based on some write-in responses. shoutout to past amino survivors!
where have you posted byler content?
Tumblr media
again, quite a few write-in answers which i tried to accomodate for. shoutout to the lurkers in the 22.7% who have not posted anything!
do you read byler fanfiction?
Tumblr media
a high percentage (84%!) of the byler fandom does read traditional byler fanfiction! only 3.8% of survey takers said they have never read any byler fanfiction.
where have you read byler fanfiction?
Tumblr media
ao3 is unsurprisingly the most popular place to read fanfiction! a few write-ins clarified that they have only read socmeds on twitter.
have you written byler fanfiction?
Tumblr media
quite a few bylers have, with 38.5% of survey takers having written byler fanfiction!
where have you posted byler fanfiction?
Tumblr media
if you took this survey earlier, you might have not seen the option of writing but not posting - i added it a bit later after getting so many write-ins. this ended up being somewhat popular, with 19.7% of people later choosing that option.
what other forms of byler content have you posted?
Tumblr media
a lot of write-ins for this one! i lumped memes/jokes/shitposts in one category on the graph.
have you ever shipped mileven?
Tumblr media
47.5% of survey takers were converted into bylers at some point! shoutout to the 4.1% of multishippers - thank you for helping maintain the peace :)
what season did you stop shipping mileven, if ever?
Tumblr media
most ex-mlvn shippers (28.1% of total survey takers) stopped in s3. after that, it was s4 v1 (8%), s2 (5.9%), s1 (4.1%) then s4 v2 (3.8%).
do people in your life know you're a byler?
Tumblr media
17.2% of people said no one in their life knows they ship byler! however, for most people (37.6%), a certain group of people knew. 28% said close friend and family knows and 17.2% said that everyone knows! byler pride!
do you know people in your life who ship byler?
Tumblr media
most people also know other bylers who did not have to be convinced (38.2%) (shoutout to my irls stalking this account...). the 2nd most popular answer was knowing no one (33.5%), and 22.3% successfully converted people!
part 2: the endgame of byler
(note: this originally came out before the teaser, which may or may not have changed ppl's opinions)
do you think byler will be endgame?
Tumblr media
there is room for more nuance later, but overall 89.2% of survey responders said yes, they think byler will be endgame! keep the faith!
how confident are you that byler will be endgame?
Tumblr media
the average confidence level of a byler endgame is 7.67/10! the mode for this data set was 8, with 25.4% of responders choosing that. 16.2% of people are 100% sure!
how confident are you that mlvn will not be endgame?
Tumblr media
the faith in mlvn not happening is stronger than byler itself, with the average response of 8.38/10! 10 was the mode of the dataset, with 42.8% of people having zero faith in mlvn happening.
when do you think byler will be endgame?
Tumblr media
57.8% of people think byler will be endgame by volume 2, followed by 33.5% of people thinking it will happen in the finale. 4% of responders thought it would happen in volume 1!
how do you think byler will be endgame?
Tumblr media
the options i wrote aren't completely nuanced, so i hope people found one they could relate to! 65.1% think it will be very clear! 19.8% think it will be partly ambiguous, 7% think it will be ambiguous, and 4.7% think it will be open!
if byler is not endgame, do you think it will be queerbait?
Tumblr media
71.7% of people think it will be queerbait, and 24.6% of people think it would partially be queerbait! only 3.8% of people said they don't think it will be.

but wait, there's more! click here to go to the second post breaking down more results.

MUN GETTING TO KNOW YOU
respond to the following prompts out of character, then tag others you'd like to get to know a little bit better.
roleplayer name: Lore roleplayer pronouns: they / them / he / him muse name: Kerry Lange (on this blog)
preferred communication: Discord, Tumblr IMs, dash comments. whatever is cool.
experience: i've been in the tumblr rpc since 2012 which was the year i graduated high school. i did however take a long fucking hiatus between 2018 to 2024 with some sporadic activity in between. so i've been around for a long time and lurking for some of it. when i first started writing here I was writing in both the game of thrones community and the once upon a time community. i also wrote dexter morgan for about 4 years.
preferred roleplay type: i am a multi-para writer. I can't help it. small things like text message threads or small dialogue threads end up turning into multi-para if I'm building a strong rapport. plotting is also fun but i like to plot after chemistry has been established. i feel like plotting in the beginning kind of pulls the fun from it for me.
pet peeves & dealbreakers: i think when people police the way others write or when they go off on their holier-than-thou tangents on what's allowed and what's not allowed to be written about in the rpc. sometimes it feels like there's this giant purity culture back on the rise and i totally understand that this might be an unpopular opinion but, i think it's unkind and sometimes unreasonable to knit-pick other people's interests or writing. i believe in the block button to curate your own space. i think it's cool to not interact with everyone that's around. and that's reasonable and inconsequential. and yes there's a difference between actual nefarious activity on the internet and writing difficult topics.
plot or memes: memes! 100% love memes. they sometimes blow up into the coolest and most elaborate threads. and the plotting ends up doing itself.
long replies or short replies: i do like both but i always accidentally fall into para writing.
best time to write: currently suffering the thankless experience of student teaching. but usually when that isn't happening, i write early or i write late. both feel comfortable to me. midday i'm more of a private creative and like to write my own stories or read.
are you like your muse?: sometimes. kerry and i and a lot of my muses and i are very intertwined. i put a lot of myself in all of my muses.
tagged by: stole off the dash! tagging: @tohilt @0fbabylon @grote5querie @sunmad @malefikant + any other homies interested

Once Upon a Time Fanfic/Writing Master List
Hello everyone!
I'm in the process of revamping my blog mostly to make things easier for app users. The old master list will be deleted, and this list will be in its place due to outdated info and links since I no longer use FF.net and now only use Tumblr or Ao3. Please also keep in mind my OUAT works were posted originally back in 2015-2018, and while I will always love OUAT and will still talk or nerd out about it with anyone, I no longer really write for it.
List of works is below the cut. Enjoy!
All Killian and Henry Step Father/Son bonding stories:
“Well, You Do Have My Chin” (one-shot)– Season 7 AU (not Fix-it fic) in which “Somewhere in the translation it’s lost that Killian is Henry’s step-dad, so Henry just says his dad, leading to a “well you do have my chin,” commentary from Killian. And when the curse breaks they just squint at each other for a really long time.“ Captain Cobra centered fic with background Captain Swan, Hooked Queen Friendship, Glass Believer, OutlawQueen (((This is my pride and joy, out of all the stories I’ve written so far, I’m most proud of this one and I hope you guys enjoy it too. It was one of those prompts that just completely ran away from me and turned into a monster of a one-shot lol)) [Ao3 link]
“Never a Dull Moment” (Completed)– “In which the land of untold stories should have been a warning that it wasn’t just fairytales that were real.” This is a Captain Cobra centered fic, set 4 years after season 6 and before season 7. Warning of language, Killian Whump, and BAMF!Henry. [Ao3 link]
“Can You Not Be ‘That’ Dad! (two-shot)– “Imagine Henry trying to explain internet memes to Killian” “Or in which Henry comes to regret his decision, tenfold.” with an added bonus of Wish Hook at the end. Captain Cobra centered fic (established pairings, and if you squint you’ll get a little bit of Hooked Queen at the end with Wish Hook and Regina) (2nd chapter is simply a requested continuation prompt) [Part 1]  [Part 2]  [Ao3 link]
“When Everything Shifts” (one-shot)– Henry’s thoughts on the topic of fathers. With thoughts of his own father, to Hook and the transition of him becoming Killian, to step-father, and eventually someone that Henry sees as more than just a father figure, but as a second father. [Ao3 link]
Family/Gen KnightRook Father/Daughter bonding Stories:
“Sing Me Sweet Lullabies and Chase the Demons Away” (one-shot)– Season 7, father/daughter bonding. “Or in which sometimes even Papa’s need to be sung too.” [Ao3 link]
“Bed Hog” (one-shot)– Alice is a bed hog, plain and simple. Family gen with a side of Curious Archer [Ao3 link]
“Christmas Memories” (one-shot only posted on tumblr)– (Post-curse and post-poisoned heart issue). Alice, while flipping through the Christmas Movie laden channels, thinks back on her real and fake childhood. (Curious Archer mostly, but with some KnightRook feels)
“The Dreaded Why” (one-shot)– (season 7) “In which Alice is a very inquisitive little girl, and ‘why’ will be Killian’s undoing” (KnightRook fluff and feels await you my friends! Enjoy!) [Ao3 link]
“Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum” (one-shot/snippet tumblr only)– Alice enjoying playtime with her papa.
“It All Comes Crumbling Down” (one-shot/Part 1 tumblr only)– just a snippet of tower living, and how young Alice could have been when Killian got cursed with the “Poisoned Heart”
“And the Flames Consume Us All” (One-shot/part 2 tumblr only)– Continuation of “It All Comes Crumbling Down” But in Alice’s POV.
“Panic” (one-shot tumblr only)– Alice dealing with the claustrophobia of crowds throughout her years, and the wonderful people who have helped her through it (Mostly KnightRook, with a blink of Curious Archer, and a brief appearance of Ella’s mom).
“Flat Lining” (one-shot tumblr only)– “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.” A timeless lullaby that transcends all realms. (KnightRook feels galore)
“Killian Takes Alice Home After the Curse Breaks” (just a short snippet)– this came after seeing Killianmesmalls and thesschesthair’s post about what would happen or what they’d liked to see…
“A Broken Feeling, Like a Broken Figurine” (short snippet)– Just a tiny snippet of the white elephant decision and repercussions seen from Alice’s point of view.
Hooked Queen Stories:
“The Conundrum That Is Regina Mills and WishRealm Killian Jones” (one-shot tumblr only)– “In which Henry asks what even is his life anymore” where somewhere along the 11 years between helping the Resistance and landing in HH, Regina and Wish Hook go from friends to something else entirely.
“Darling, I’ve Got The Cold Christmas Blues” (one-shot)– Everyone has a place to be for Christmas Eve, whether volunteering at the local soup kitchen (Tilly and Rogers) or spending it with family and friends. Everyone that is except Roni/Regina. Not when she can’t afford to have her bar closed for even a single night. [Ao3 link]
“The Cake” (Short snippet tumblr only)–Regina was only trying to look out for him. He wasn’t aware of the danger he was in. Didn’t mean she didn’t feel guilty about it.
Captain Swan Stories/snippets/one-shots:
“Misadventures of the Jones’ and their Cat” (multi-chapter snippet series)– Just a series of ongoing short snippets involving the life of the Swan/Jones/Mills household with their latest addition to the family, Orion. (Mostly Captain Swan Cobra, but other pairings and characters may make an appearance, and will possibly go into season 7 territory). [Snippet 1: Hello Beastie][Snippet 2: A Name][Snippet 3: Stowaway]
“Emma and Killian’s room headcanon” (snippet/ideas)–reblogged from Bleebug and thesschesthair (but mostly chesthairs’ humorous two cents that i couldn’t help but add my own too).
Hooking Utensil/Captain Cook Stories/one-shots:
“Break Down” (one-shot tumblr only)–Sabine isn’t having a good day. Thankfully Rogers is there to help.
Written Snippets and other Once Upon a Time One-shots:
“Killian with a drunken Browine” (snippet)– the little gnome-man singing sea shanty’s in Killian’s pocket ((((I do have an actual one-shot and not just a snippet, planned out for this, just gotta find time to write it))))
“Of Humor and Hi-Jinks” (one-shot tumblr only)– (Post curse and poisoned heart) Alice and Henry team up for some hi-jinks in Hyperion Heights, leading to Killian bailing them out. ((Mostly KnightRook and Captain Cobra 2.0 (with bro-tp, Curious Believer between Alice and Henry). There’s also background canon, and non-canonical pairings, off to the side)).
“Holiday Fiasco” (one-shot tumblr only)– The curse breaks at the most inopportune time, and with all the running around; the looming holiday managed to slip from the HH gangs’ mind. With it being too late to cook a Christmas Eve dinner for 10; a lucky reservation at a restaurant is placed and the resulting shenanigans ensue. (All canon and non-canonical pairings of the romantic, familial and bro-top verity make an appearance)
“Rock-a-bye Mermaid” (one-shot tumblr only)– Killian and the crew stumble upon a treasure chest (looted from other pirates), that isn’t a treasure chest at all, but a crib. And inside, is a small infant mermaid. The decision to keep it and the chaos resulting from that decision ensue. (just a fun little piece born from a comic)
“Happy Hour Hysteria” (one-shot tumblr only)– (Season 7) Flu season has hit Hyperion Heights and Regina is in over her head at the bar. Thankfully Henry and Rogers are there to help.
“When Will the Storm End” (One-shot tumblr only)– His mother was always a ray of sunshine, even in the roughest of storms. It was only fitting, that the sky would mourn her loss too. (Somewhat of a companion piece to “Flat Lining” only because I use the “You are my Sunshine” lullaby)
“Dig” (snippet)–a headcanon from thesschesthair that inspired the feelsy snippet with Liam and Killian digging for Silver’s treasure.

❛ && like tokyo after a godzilla rampage,                                     I WILL REBUILD MYSELF. ❜
indie bill dickey && aaron winkleman from the eltingville club. heavily headcanon based. written by wikia. est. 8/17/2018, rebooted 2/6/2025. bill's bio || aaron's bio
rules below.
MUTUALS  + FOLLOWING
I’ll only interact if we follow each other. However, non-mutuals can still like posts, reblog posts, and send me asks if they desire to. I only want to write threads with mutuals because it’s less stressful.
As for DUPLICATES? If there are any other Bills or Aarons, I'll be happy to follow! Obvs if ur a Bill, I'll just write Aaron with you, and vice versa!
This blog is also very accepting of OCs and crossovers.
CANON DIVERGENT
The ending/the two last comics of Eltingville were bad. The one where Bill gets a job at Joe’s and the other where they’re adults. I felt it was poorly written, Bill was out of character and exaggerated for a forced plot. He was written out worse than he actually is (which is saying A LOT). Therefore, they won’t be acknowledged at all in my portrayal and never happened on this blog. This blog mixes both canon from comics prior to the ending, and show/pilot, as well as being heavily headcanon based. P.S. Bill is NOT a sexist, this blog will not depict him as such, and he will befriend fangirls without question.
Aaron & Bill are also twins (although living in separate households due to parents' divorce). In the comics, it's never stated that Aaron has any relation to Bill, so... this counts as a canon divergent take I suppose! :')
Triggering content
Bill & Aaron are usually minors, that means there will be NO smut on this blog. There may still be suggestive humor/themes, but never smut. This blog may or will contain the following: Strong language, minor blood / violence, self harm, suicide ideation, depression, drug / alcohol abuse, and child neglect / abuse. All triggers will be tagged.
I have nothing you need to tag for me!
GODMODDING + METAGAMING
Please don't do either!!
SHIPPING
This blog is multiship, and will ship either either chemistry or pre-establishment upon plotting. However, I'll only ship with muses around Bill's & Aaron's age.
REBLOGGING
Anything but threads are rebloggable! Because typically my partners don’t like threads to be reblogged. Whether you’re a mutual or not, feel free to reblog my ooc posts, my shitposts, memes, my art. (highly encouraged!) I don’t mind at all!!! 🥺🥺🥺 Also, if you sent in a meme or anything in the inbox, you’re very free to turn it into a thread.
MUN EQUAL DOES NOT MUSE
Both Bill and Aaron are big, big, biiiiiig jerks. Their comments & views do not reflect the mun's!
GRAPHICS + ICONS
I made all graphics on the blog unless stated otherwise.
MUN
Hi hi hi! I am the mun, you can call me by Wikia or anything, I am 26 years old. If you made it down here, I just wanna say that there’s no password to send and thank you for reading and respecting my rules! I hope to write with you soon. ❤︎

There was a time when Mark Zuckerberg didn’t regard mainstream media as the enemy. He even allowed me, a card-carrying legacy media person, into his home. In April 2018, I ventured there to hear his plans to do the right thing. It was part of my years-long embed into Facebook to write a book. For the past two years, Zuckerberg’s company had been roundly criticized for its failure to rein in disinformation and hate speech. Now the young founder had a plan to address this.
Part of the solution, he told me, was more content moderation. He was going to hire many more humans to vet posts, even if it cost Facebook considerable capital. He would also amp up efforts to use artificial intelligence to proactively remove harmful content. “It is no longer enough to give people tools to say what they want and then just let our community flag them and try to respond after the fact,” he told me as we sat in his sunroom. “We need to get in there more and just take a more active role.” He admitted he had been slow to realize how damaging toxic content was on Facebook, but now he was committed to fixing the problem, even though it might take years. “I think we're doing the right thing,” he told me, “It’s just that we should've done it sooner.”
Seven years later, Zuckerberg no longer thinks more moderation is the right thing. In a five-minute Reel, he characterized his actions to support it as a regretful cave-in to government jawboning about Covid and other subjects. He announced a shift away from content moderation—no more proactive takedowns and downranking of misinformation and hate speech—and the end of a fact-checking program that aimed to refute lies circulating on his platforms. Fact checks by trusted sources would be replaced by “community notes,” a crowdsourcing approach where users provide alternate views on the veracity of posts. That technique is the exact thing that he told me in 2018 was “not enough.” While he admits now his changes will allow “more bad stuff,” he says that in 2025 it is worth it for more “free expression” to thrive.
The policy shift was one of several moves that indicated that, whether or not Zuckerberg wanted to do this all along, Meta is positioning itself in sync with the new Trump administration. You’ve heard the litany, which has become a meme in itself. Meta promoted its top lobbyist, former GOP operative Joel Kaplan, to chief global affairs officer; he immediately appeared on Fox News (and only Fox News) to tout the new policies. Zuckerberg also announced that Meta would move employees who write and review content from California to Texas, to “help remove the concern that biased employees are overly censoring content.” He disbanded Meta’s DEI program. (Where is Sheryl Sandberg, who was so proud of Meta’s diversity effort. Sheryl? Sheryl?) And Meta changed some of its service terms specifically to allow users to degrade LGBTQ people.
Now that it’s been a week since Meta’s turnaround—and my first take at Zuckerberg’s speech—I am particularly haunted by one aspect: He seems to have downranked the basic practice of classic journalism, characterizing it as no better than the nonreported observations from podcasters, influencers, and countless random people on his platforms. This was hinted at in his Reel when he repeatedly used the term “legacy media” as a pejorative: a force that, in his view, urges censorship and stifles free expression. All this time I thought the opposite!
A hint of his revised version of trustworthiness comes from the shift from fact-checkers to community notes. It’s true that the fact-checking process wasn’t working well—in part because Zuckerberg didn’t defend the checkers when ill-intentioned critics charged them with bias. It’s also reasonable to expect community notes to be a useful signal that a post might be fallacious. But the power of refutation fails when participants in the conversation reject the idea that disagreements can be resolved by convincing evidence. That’s a core difference between fact-checking—which Zuckerberg got rid of— and the community notes he’s implementing. The fact-checking worldview assumes that definitive facts, arrived at via research, talking to people, and sometimes even believing your own eyes, can be conclusive. The trick is recognizing authorities who have earned public confidence by pursuing truth. Community notes welcome alternate views—but judging which ones are reliable is all up to you. There’s something to the canard that an antidote to bad speech is more speech. But if verifiable facts can’t successfully refute easily disproven flapdoodle, we’re stuck in a suicidal quicksand of babel.
That’s the world that Donald Trump, Zuckerberg’s new role model, has consciously set about to realize. 60 Minutes reporter Leslie Stahl once asked Trump why he insulted reporters who were just doing their job. “You know why I do it?” he responded. “I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.” In 2021, Trump further revealed his intent to benefit from an attack on truth. “If you say it enough and keep saying it, they’ll start to believe you,” he said during a rally. A corollary to that is if social media promotes falsehoods enough, people will believe those as well. Especially if formerly recognized authorities are discredited and demeaned.
That discrediting is exactly what Zuckerberg and his host Joe Rogan engaged in during a 3-hour conversation in Rogan’s Austin, Texas, podcast studio. This was Zuckerberg’s only appearance to explain his actions, another sign that he’s not kowtowing to a media establishment that he no longer feels is trustworthy or worth paying attention to. Zuckerberg and Rogan went on at length about how podcasters and influencers were more popular than mainstream reporters, because no one trusts those institutions anymore, and celebrated statistics that indicate that many people get their news from social media these days. (Though it’s still far from the dominant source.)
Look, I am a fan of podcasts, especially the epic multi-hour interviews like Rogan’s. But as a replacement for reported news? That’s a disaster. Reporters make countless phone calls, dig through mountains of documents, and travel all over the globe to try to make sense of the world. Podcasters glean their knowledge from those reports—and maybe just as much from biased grifters, random anecdotes, and paranoid visions. Also, as interviewers, some podcasters are entertaining but not rigorous in posing tough questions. No wonder Zuckerberg chose Rogan as the single place to defend his decisions. Rogan didn’t challenge him on whether his decisions were a sop to the incoming president—he congratulated him.
In the same week that Rogan’s podcast dropped, Peter Thiel—the billionaire VC who led Facebook’s initial funding—published a piece in the Financial Times that resonated with the Zuckerberg/Rogan theory that the media shrouds things in darkness rather than sunlight. Thiel adopted a friend’s terminology to include the media in a sweeping conspiracy called The Distributed Idea-Suppression Complex that limits public discussion. He chortled that the internet, presumably under Trump’s influence, is helping “our liberation from the DISC prison.” (Somehow the Financial Times, which is as legacy as the media gets, escaped this prison to publish Thiel’s piece.)
Thiel’s examples of media suppression were a few cases where mainstream media–though not all of it– exercised perhaps too much caution, like the JFK assassination or, more recently, Covid. But on every single day, the thousands of journalists who still have jobs seek truth by gathering facts, whether it’s to locate a mayor’s nighttime peregrinations or to show how the FBI could have acted faster to stop a notorious swatter targeting high schools. Without facts, we cannot determine whether a cabinet nominee is worthy of a position, whether it’s proper to aid an ally, or why fighting fires in Southern California is so difficult. Of course I’m biased, but this seems rather obvious. The practice of journalism is already threatened by a post-internet failure of its traditional business models. What it didn’t see coming was a horrifyingly effective political attack on its very foundation.
And now the guy who runs the biggest social networks in the world—and boasted on Rogan that because he can’t be fired, he will do anything he damn wants—has cast his lot with those who seek to tumble the distressingly vulnerable house of facts. Yes, it’s tough to control disinformation at scale. But Zuckerberg has accumulated over $200 billion of personal riches by building a platform that is part of the problem. He owes us something better than forcing his 3 billion users to sift out facts from lies, all while waving a checkered flag to the liars.
Zuckerberg knows better—after all, he let me collect facts on his company for three years. Afterwards, he messaged me congratulations. He didn’t agree with all my conclusions and said I didn’t get everything right (no examples), but he noted that he appreciated the time and effort I spent to produce a nuanced account. You know, what journalists do. On the Rogan show, Zuckerberg talked a lot about restoring masculinity to corporate culture. Maybe he should man up and fight for truth.
Time Travel
In our 2018 interview, Zuckerberg was excited about building up the company’s content moderation forces and using AI to proactively take down content like hate speech and misinformation—a policy that he slammed the brakes on earlier this year. At the time, the company faced a crisis over its hosting of fake news during the 2016 election.
Before we wrap up I ask him—has this crisis made Facebook different?
His answer is both no—the mission is the same—but, in a way, yes. "I really think the biggest shift is around being more proactive, around finding and preventing abuse. The big learning is that we need to take a broader view of our responsibility … It is no longer enough to give people tools to say what they want and then just let our community flag them and try to respond after the fact. We need to take a more active role in making sure that the tools aren't misused."
Zuckerberg recognizes the difficulty of remaking his systems to proactively catch harmful content. "I think this is about a three-year transition to really build up the teams, because you can't just hire thirty thousand people overnight to go do something,” he says. "You have to make sure that they're executing well and bring in the leadership and train them. And building up AI tools—that's not something that you could just snap your fingers on either … We'll never be fully done. But I do really think that this represents a pretty major shift in the overall business model and operating model of the company."

INTRODUCTION
Hi!! My name is Lizzie! Figured it was time I introduced myself!
Age: I’m 18
Where I live: I’m from South England
Pronouns: She/her
Sexuality: Lesbian
Who am I?
I’ve been a fan of Stranger Things since 2018, and a Byler truther since 2022.
Id say i’m someone who values, above all else, kindness, humour and creativity. If there’s anything i want to achieve online or offline, it’s to appreciate the people in my life more and encourage others to always be curious! The most valuable answers are the ones that invite more questions.
My hobbies include painting/drawing (specifically portraiture - I use oil paints, watercolour, gouache and pencil — i really want to get into digital art also!), skateboarding, knitting/crochet/sewing, writing, reading, editing, vlogging, and listening to spotify like my life depends on it!
Some little things I love:
byler
The sighs my dog makes like he lives a hard life
garden spiders
old videos
my parents
rain and thunder
my bedroom
Sci-fi and science
retro technology
lace
urban decay
jewellery
the colour pink
my queer friends
my straight friends who really don’t get it but have my back anyway
Things i hate:
generative AI.
any and all forms of discrimination
media illiteracy

Tiktok: @ lou_2111 and @ lizbetlovesbyler
I’m somebody who has struggled with a lot of comphet and internalised homophobia in the past, especially so in the last year, so a lot of my work on here is inspired by that experience and the value of acknowledging it.
My blog mainly focuses on Stranger Things (specifically Byler) but there are other fandoms you may see me indulge in/reference from time to time!
Film
The Black Phone
The Hunger Games
The Goldfinch
TV
Stranger Things
Squid Game
Anne With an E
Alice in Borderland
IANOWT
The Last of Us (game also!)
Black Mirror
Comic/Animated Media
The Promised Neverland
Heartstopper
Attack on Titan
Into/Across the Spiderverse
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory
The Owl House
Amphibia
If you couldn’t tell, I’m a SUCKER for queer/queercoded media and media with social commentary. I believe film and television today hold upmost power in influencing pop culture and politics, which is what makes analysing media so important to me. (Especially with BIG shows)
I’m currently in the middle of my A-level exams (English end-of-school exams) for Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I take the most interest in Physics, largely influenced by my early obsession with Sci-fi (Star Trek, Dr. Who and – of course – Stranger Things), and I hope to begin my integrated masters in the subject next year. I never have, nor plan to, take any legitimate classes or courses on film, film history or film media, a lot of my ideas are influenced by what i’ve learnt online in my free time.
Most of my work will include fanart (once i can afford a new laptop), fanfic, analyses and general shitposts/memes.
I hope to become a lot more active once my exams are done - they feel like they’re going on foreverrrr.
Always open to DMs and Asks!
Thanks for visiting my blog!

Post-canon Viktuuri intimacy: my love of writing the most tender filth imaginable
I think I'll always love writing post-canon Viktuuri smut, because in my fluffy little head, Yuuri and Viktor have the most filthy yet tender sex imaginable. It's particularly fun to write about their kink life, imagining what a few years' experience of unraveling Viktor time and time again might do for Yuuri's confidence...
If you've read my work before, I imagine you know I love writing Dom Yuuri. The most recent chapter of my married Viktuuri 2018/2022 Olympic Games fic -- Chapter 17, meaning there are only 4 chapters left until the end of part 1! -- features a pretty lengthy sex scene, and given the heightened emotionality of this particular day (i.e. the one right before Yuuri's last ever competitive skate), it was really fun to write.
It also includes mention of one of my favorite headcanons in the overall 300K+ word fic series: that Yuuri is not only a talented athlete, but singer as well. In fact, since gaining confidence in his skating as well as his relationship with Viktor, it's long been a dream of his to skate to his own music one day in competition. He finally does so in his last ever competitive season, which culminates with the Bejing 2022 Olympic Games.
Below is an excerpt from this most recent chapter, which I hope piques your interest in checking out this story or my other YOI works (which are basically all explicit...lol, what can I say?).
Note: content warning for explicit sexual content, Dom/sub power exchange
Note of context: on this particular day, Viktor is in a feminine mindset. She came out as genderfluid post-retirement, and sometimes uses she/her/hers pronouns
Given Yuuri's impressive stamina, Viktor decided to help things along by beginning to twist her wrist and pulled off for a few seconds so that she could administer a few full strokes.
“I love making you feel good…that’s all I ever want to do,” she whispered, glad when her husband opened his eyes so that they were looking at one another. “You deserve it, you were so beautiful yesterday. And not only your skating, but your singing, too.”
Her eyes actually grew wet when she said the words, but she knew Yuuri would understand the sudden onslaught of emotion.
Viktor had been hearing ‘Gold’ all season long, but never in a million years would she have guessed that Yuuri had recorded a surprise version of it: one that featured his own lead vocals instead of Yukimi’s. Though her love had skated to the sound of his own voice before (at the 2018 World Championships, in a tribute during her last competition), this was the first instance in which Yuuri had skated to a song of his own creation.
It had long been a dream of his to do so, and Viktor hadn’t even really been able to pay attention to the first thirty seconds of Yuuri’s performance yesterday, what with the way she’d broken down, sobbing. Her uninhibited reaction had been the subject of quite a lot of memes, but she couldn’t bring herself to feel even the slightest bit embarrassed. She hadn’t even realized that she’d grabbed Phichit’s sweaty arm – he had literally just come off of the ice after his own stellar performance – and had been grateful that he hadn’t minded when she’d begun to blubber all over him (then again, Phichit had cried a bit, too).
It spoke volumes about their relationship that even with the very wanton activities they were currently engaged in, a distinct softness entered Yuuri’s beautiful, gold-flecked and chestnut colored gaze.
“I could never have done it, if not for you watching me, Viten’ka,” he whispered, bringing his forehead slightly down to meet her own. “I’m so happy I got to surprise you like that.”
Viktor was proud that even as her vision grew blurry, she managed to keep up her ministrations. She giggled quietly at the sweet way her spouse kissed at some of the tears that spilled over, but the sudden heightened emotion receded, replaced with the earlier eroticism when she gave a particularly deft twist of her wrist.
“FUCK!”
She recomposed herself, bringing her mouth back down and attempting to fit the entirety of Yuuri’s dick inside. When it hit the back of her throat, she hummed, satisfied at the second loud thunk! that resounded.
“Ah! Vitya!!”
Viktor immediately pulled off with an unabashed slurping sound, but before Yuuri could protest, she sunk back down, taking his cock all the way to the back of her throat, yet again.
“Swallow around me, honey,” he ordered, the firm directive sending another heady pulse of fuzziness right to her brain.
She did so with enthusiasm, nearly losing her goddamn mind when her husband brought his hand up to her throat, lightly massaging it so that he could feel himself inside of her.

Feel like I need to give Steven universe another chance, I feel like I was too harsh on it for many years.
I'll be honest, I never really got into Steven universe, during the time it started airing, I was growing into my "all modern cartoons are dumb" phase due to me beginning to leech of other people's opinions on the internet and thinking what they said was right. Along with me having a very skewed perception of queer people due to being exposed to a lot of really edgy memes as a teenager, although I would be there would be some instances where I've given some shows a chance like star vs., the loud house, and some others that I'm probably not thinking about although I do know that I fell out of watching modern cartoons again out fear of being judged.
that phase of my life would finally go away when I hit my early 20's and overtime I would begin re watching many cartoons I haven't seen in years, from classic cartoons from the 1930's to 1940's and even watching one show in particular that I never saw, that being the 2018 She Ra reboot, A year before watching she ra I began learning a lot and becoming more aware about various issues that queer and other marginalized groups of people were facing and learned to take them much more seriously, I was also trying to heal from a lot of bad personal experiences that I would prefer to not speak about here. watching She Ra was a massive part of my egg cracking phase, it was one of those things that made me realize that I was very fascinated with lesbian/wlw relationships, quite literally cheering for catra and adora to kiss in the lips, which is another thing I did when I first saw princess bubblegum and marceline kiss in the series finale for adventure time back when it came out. The show would inspire me to have a lesbian relationship between two of my original characters, Melanie and Grizzly, something that has stuck to this day.
While writing those two characters, I had a bit of a panic in terms of what my true gender identity was, especially because I began to realize I felt a similar way about myself in a similar way that Grizzly felt about her self, for context, Grizzly is a trans woman, so I ended up spending a couple of months trying to unpack my own identity and trying plenty of labels and rethinking my entire sense of fashion. Thus leading me figure out who I truly am, a non binary trans woman and also a pan lesbian. Which was around 2 years ago. and even with in the span of those two years and even this year, I have changed so much as a person, I've gotten back into so many things that I have suppressed for so many years (examples: Minions and ugly dolls, specifically the original toy line, not the movie) thanks to the encouragement of my own partner who I have happily been in a T4T relationship in for the past year, and within the span of that year, I feel like I've grown so much more rapidly and healed from my past experiences much better since we both fell in love. (also dear if you're reading this I love you so much and I'm going to love you for the rest of my life, you are the best human being I've ever met)
Now you must be wondering what the hell this has to do with Steven universe, basically, what I am trying to say is that with the immense amount of personal growth I've gone through, and how much I've become more comfortable with liking things I was a afraid to for so many years, I feel like Steven universe would be symbolic of that growth I've gone through in a way, that and of course I want to give the show another chance in general, now of course, I am aware that it is far from perfect, but it is something that I've grown to respect for how much it paved to way for LGBT+ representation in animation and just having an overall impact on cartoons that we are still seeing today. That show is basically has the same level of impact that shows like Adventure Time, G4 My Little Pony, and Gravity Falls for how influential it is to the current landscape of cartoons and the community that we see today. Also from what little songs that I've heard from the show, they are really good, especially stronger than you, not only that song is really good, but also it just brings me back to my undertale phase when that game was at the peak of it's popularity.
Okay, I feel like I've said everything I've had to say about steven universe, I not really sure how much the show is going to fully pull me into it, but I still think it's worth a try. Although I do have one more question to ask to those that see this post, has anyone else gone through a similar phase of hating steven universe like I did?

Anyway in case anyone was wondering why I do firmly aver I did not get to DPxDC from DC and am not a DC fan despite having consumed all of the Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad runs up to 2018
(And have an exciting grab bag of shows, movies, and assorted trivia under my belt besides
Batman vs Dracula was fucking great fight me)
It’s because DC as a whole is hostile as fuck to the concept of being a casual fan
(And about 90% of the main heroes annoy the hell out of me for the very tropes that DC is known and praised for in their heroes I am here for villains, antiheroes, and sidekicks exclusively)
There is no such thing as consistent characterization, especially as you consume more content or fall down a rabbit hole, and the rabbit holes are ENDLESS
Everyone cameos everywhere else, referential jokes are often dropped in as Easter eggs for people who have read every single other DC comic put out in the same decade and yet within the same comics you get glaringly inconsistent characterization and different retcons for the same events
Big stories are retold and retconned every couple years, we got 3 separate Spiderman origin movies and the exact same Batman origin in more than half the live action movies; DC PAYS PEOPLE to make up their own different versions of canon events
There is a REASON that the Marvel and DC cinematic universes are both officially divorced from comic canon; the sheer volume of canon content is inaccessible to most of the population, and DC and Marvel know it
That’s why the New 52 was a big divorce from all previous canon too - it’s an on ramp for new fans, because sorting through the web of old content is off putting as fuck
It’s the one thing not a single DC fan I’ve spoken to who complained about “canon characterization” has bothered defending or even acknowledging, and yet it has been the core of all of their arguments:
“Canon is what I want it to be, not what any of the sources say”
And listen, I was a Torchwood fan, we were the archetypal example of “canon only happened if I acknowledge it” (so sad that show ended after only two seasons and nothing else ever happened again Children of Earth who), you just gotta acknowledge that that’s what you’re doing
But you frankly cannot have a serious conversation about canon characterization with someone who does not acknowledge entire swaths of canon and cannot understand why that makes their argument completely invalid
Any kind of conversation about the “right” characterization for a DC character necessarily has to involve the acknowledgement that it’s your personal preferred characterization, not a One True Canon, because I guarantee there are canon incidents for every single big name and most of the small ones that directly counter the ones you like
You may note I share a bunch of posts with things like “My Batman would never do this”, as opposed to “canon Batman would never do this”
Hell, on Batman specifically there are hundreds of beautifully put together posts talking about how the different canon runs get him wrong; I too prefer a Bruce Wayne who does genuinely care about his family and tries to protect them, but isn’t perfect or always right over the massive asshole elitist who just grunts and treats them like soldiers
Canon Batman slaps his kids around, it’s the meme that broke containment and you don’t have to like it or accept it as something your Batman would do!
But it’s still canon
Both versions have a massive well of canon support, and exist simultaneously in the multiverse
Every single characterization of a character is true and exists in the multiverse
And that is why the idea of a “canon version” of any DC character is utterly meaningless
TL;DR: write DC characters however the fuck you want and do not worry about it for more than 10 minutes together, that is what the paid DC writing staff do
There will be at least two pieces of canon media to back up whatever interpretation of the character you pick
Not everyone will like that characterization or agree with how you see the character, and that is all fine and good! But “canon” is meaningless in this context, neatly encapsulated by the “multiverse” explanation
Everything is canon, which means that nothing is canon

Quote
he hallmark of her thought is the exhortation to discipline and self-effacement, the impossibility of which is no deterrent to her insistence upon making every effort to reach it. A word that occurs frequently throughout her writing is the Greek “metaxu,” a preposition meaning simply “between”; for Weil (influenced by her reading of Plato) “betweenness” came to signify education, mercy, and grace, which allow the corrupt world to reflect, however darkly, the eternity of God’s goodness. “This world is the closed door. It is a barrier,” Weil writes. “And at the same time it is the way through.” Her way through, in her actions and on the page, was the way of torment, of cultivated loss, of the paradoxical hope (from the deep sources of Christian mysticism) that in the greatest depths of darkness, a light will be found shining. Life and thought rarely correspond so closely; it is unsurprising, then, that Weil’s strained biography has long been a source of morbid fascination. In a 1963 review of a collection of Weil’s essays, Susan Sontag — echoing T.S. Eliot, Albert Camus, André Gide, and others before her — identified in Weil a necessary corrective to the cult of power and progress in the modern world. Sontag argued that no one could possibly agree with Weil’s oracular pronouncements on religious renewal through self-erasure, much less take her advice, but that we must continue to read her because that very intensity offers a shock to the overly polite postwar liberal consensus. For Sontag, Weil was an otherworldly exemplar, the outer limit of spiritual and intellectual asceticism, emphatically not a role model. It’s an assessment that shaped much of the Anglophone perception of Weil’s life and thought through the end of the twentieth century. Under more or less the same aspect, Weil haunted a few texts earlier this millennium, like Chris Kraus’s genre-blending essay Aliens and Anorexia (2000) and Anne Carson’s collection Decreation (2005). But a different Weil has appeared in recent years, especially after the election of Donald Trump in 2016, when she began to be marshaled as a figure who, as Robert Zaretsky declared in The Washington Post in 2019, “diagnosed America’s current political malaise.” In 2018, the French literature scholar Christy Wampole wrote in Aeon that “in a society whose most distinct feature is alienation, Simone Weil proposes ways to feel at home again.” In 2023, researcher Justine Toh argued in The Guardian that Simone Weil might just be the one to convince “the comfortable classes” to make the radical changes needed to save the world from ecological collapse. In a sordid twist of the kind social media has perfected, Weil has also become a mascot for misguided youths seeking to blend a fetishized Catholic ritualism with aestheticized eating disorders: memes and graphics free-associate Weil’s name and face with half-knowing coquettishness, inane religious references, and anorexia, mirabilis or otherwise.
Whose Weil?

Todays rip: 16/09/2023
Plains of Des-passing-to
Season 3 Featured on: SiIvaGunner's Highest Quality Rips: Volume A
Ripped by UUN4
youtube
I tried to really rack my brain this week over more recurring song sources that I hadn't yet featured in posts. Not that there's anything preventing me from featuring multiple rips with the same source for their joke, of course, but I find it really interesting to write about the history of jokes on here, and I only really get that opportunity when its a joke's first time. After only a small bit of searching I would land on the subject of today's video: the legendary Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
Its a song that I'm sure a lot of us still can't get out of our heads for, perhaps the wrong reasons - during its prime time in 2017, it was ridiculously overplayed on all sorts of radio stations and music events in general. It became the new "annoying trend", so to speak, akin to something like Justin Bieber's early work (how ironic) and...Ed Sheeran music, I guess? Keep in mind that me writing this is one of the most out-of-touch people with the world of music - I'm just speaking from what I've accumulated from talking to others, lol. Either way - for as popular as Despacito would end up being, it developed a sort of hatedom by the time 2018 rolled around. And ironically enough, I think that hatedom is part of what makes Plains of Des-passing-to so good.
Because lets face it - after a whole year of it playing EVERYWHERE on the radio, the last thing people wanted in 2018 was to hear *more* Despacito - it really didn't matter how good the song was, at that point. Yet for as hard as it was to admit, we'd all grown a collective familiarity to the tune by 2018, which Plains of Des-passing-to exploits so god damn well. It's an arrangement of the aforementioned song in the style of Strike the Earth! from Shovel Knight - but its a fucking incredible arrangement in a way I still find hard to believe is real. ALL pieces of the original two tracks used are replicated - Strike the Earth!'s more low-key opening, the lead-up to Despacito's main chorus, the percussion alternates between feeling taken from one or the other - its so much more than just an arrangement of one song in the sound of the other, its a full-on marriage of the two. And for as much as we all hated Despacito, this arrangement reveals the truth:
The song's a fucking bop!
With UUN4's talent and the Strike the Earth! instrumentation replacing the otherwise overplayed original, everyone in the comments section came together and effectively admitted defeat to the 2017 demon. It was absolutely incredible to witness first-hand back as Season 3 was happening, to see just about everyone accept this song that they'd previously loathed as mainstream-pop garbage. And though the meme hasn't exactly become a "mainstay" on SiIva, it makes me so happy to see rippers and fans alike acknowledge just how much potential the song has to sound good. That, or my 2017 brainwashing still hasn't been healed.

✿ did anything major change when you started writing [fic] to when you finished?
Link to the ask meme!
Alrighty so for reference, the first fic I am certain I wrote was one I started in 2014, which means I've been writing fic for 10+ years now. Which is uh. Wow. That's a long time!
Since then my writing style has changed a lot. For starters, I haven't written anything in first person in years. That old fic, named Genesis TT (for Time Travel), was in first person, and I think over the next year or two I wrote a few more first person fics, but I haven't at any time in the 2020s and probably haven't for a bit before then so that's one major change.
A more recent change is swapping from past tense to present tense, though that's something I'm flip flopping a bit on. I read a few good fics (and maybe a real book or two?) in present tense, enjoyed it, tried it out myself, and have been having fun with it since. Still, some of my current WIPs were started in past tense, so I've kept them like that just so I don't have to swap every word. Although...looking at Genesis TT again, that fic is in present tense! Wow. I wonder when I swapped to past tense then, since everything else I can remember is in past tense, hmmm.
Another big change is writing method. I started out on the family computer using Microsoft Word when I had the time to myself, before moving using Google Docs on my phone, which I used from probably 2015 to 2017 or 2018 when I got a laptop. I think I still ended up using my phone a lot until college, where I transitioned to mostly laptop writing, and at this point the vast majority of my fic writing is done either on my laptop or my PC. Part of that is because two of my current main WIPs are over 100k words and I can't really add anything to them without the app on my phone crashing. I still use Google Docs to write, though I've thought about switching from time to time. It works well enough for my purposes though, so I'll probably stick with it for a while longer. I like being able to work on fics on my phone, even if I can't work on the long ones, for times when my laptop is charging, I have a sudden idea, or I'm out and about and bored enough to want to write.
As for content, beyond changing fandoms I think I've also drifted further towards angst over the years. My love for character studies has held strong even if I didn't know what they were called back in the day, but more and more of them look at what it's like to put a character in a bad/unfortunate/angsty situation because I find it fascinating to push a character toward their limit. It's fun trying to get into their headspace. Maybe it says something that I keep going toward the dark ones but uh, I'm going to chalk it up to my love for drama and how angst lends itself to that.
Finally, the biggest change in my writing is EDITING. I did not edit back in the day. Sometimes I would post chapters without even *proofreading*!!! Over time I've started doing a much more thorough pass-over, as well as additional drafts. Recently I've also held off on posting several multi-chapter things until I've gotten most of the way through the story, so that I can go back to change things as I make decisions later on that will help with consistency. It makes writing take a lot longer, but I'm generally satisfied with the results.
Thank you for the question! If anyone else wants to participate, click on the link at the top of the post. I'm happy to answer questions about my writing in general, or specific fics, whatever you're interested in :)
