I spent so much money 💰, time, effort, hours, on that, n not only was I exhausted, but it was so glitchy, n #Niantic kept trying to Gaslight n mitigate it downplaying it like all the PLAYERS were doing something wrong. They even blamed my phone 📱or my connection. I'm Level 42, over 37.5 million XP, n I've been playing since 2016. I'm NOT a noob. Come on!

Anyways, I was so grumpy 😾 that I didn't feel like posting anything. But I shot so much .

These are the PLAYERS whom won the Avatar contest. I only saw 1 girl tho. I liked this idea a lot. But, the event was so stinky that I just didn't have it in me to blog about it.

Jauz, Habstrakt, Gammer, & More Reveal Where Some Of Their Most Famous Samples Come From

Sometimes, people are just in the mood to come clean. And sometimes it turns out like this thread of quote tweets yesterday from the likes of CLB, Chris Lorenzo, Jauz, FuntCase, Gammer, and Habstrakt spilling the beans on “stealing” samples from some of their friends on some of their most famous works.

Of course, we use the term “stealing” very lightly and only in conjunction with the artists’ own admission, but it’s really just friends sharing until someone gets mad enough to say something about it. But from all of these replies, it seems everyone is in good spirits about it all.

Sometimes it’s a kick, sometimes it’s a snare, sometimes it’s a synth … whatever it is, some of these samples and elements made these songs what they are. Perhaps all at once most surprising and most obvious, the opening chords from Gammer’s “The Drop” came straight from the stems of Porter Robinson’s “Sad Machine.”

Habby came over one day to my old house with @Ghastly and all of us were working on a song (that never got finished) and during that Habby gave me a few of his Operator racks, and after a good bit of tweaking one of those ended up becoming the sound for Higher with Netsky

Porter Robinson Asks, “Am I EDM?” [TWITTER POLL]

Is Porter Robinson EDM?

Arguments could surely be made for both sides — in the broadest interpretation of the term, he is absolutely within the confines of EDM, as he makes his dance music electronically. On the other hand, there’s a group that interprets the term to be one denoting some degree of commercialization, music that would be welcomed on the main stage of a festival. Though even that doesn’t really disqualify Porter from the term, as he’s certainly become big enough to warrant main stage billings.

Still, the question was posited by the man himself yesterday and currently, at time of publishing, has over 37,000 votes. Right now, 77% of responses (approximately 28,771 votes) say that he’s EDM, around 8,600 disagree.

It’s also worth looking at the responses from some of Porter’s contemporaries, as “EDM” has always been a bit of a contentious acronym.

i always see us as dance / electronic artists. only because edm for a time was branded as cheesy “let’s get crazy” basic thing
