The US intends to present Iran with three baseline demands for reentering negotiations: a total ban on uranium enrichment on Iranian soil, the removal of all highly enriched uranium Iran has stockpiled, and limitations on future missile production. According to reports on Wednesday, another round of talks between the parties is scheduled for next week – the first since the military campaign in Iran began.
These conditions indicate that not all of Iran's enriched uranium was eliminated during joint US-Israeli strikes. On the eve of the campaign, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed Iran had amassed 408.6 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% – enough for more than 10 nuclear bombs if further enriched to weapons-grade 90%.

The US demand carries an implicit warning: if Iran refuses to surrender its enriched uranium, it risks facing another military strike. That threat is underscored by the dual strategic success of the recent campaign – severe damage inflicted by Israel on Iran's nuclear program, with potential repercussions for regime stability, and the US attack that signaled a firm commitment to preventing Iran's return to the nuclear path.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog, Director General Rafael Grossi said Iran must let its inspectors return to its nuclear sites and account for the missing 400 kg of 60% enriched uranium — sufficient material to make 10 nuclear bombs.
Iran reportedly moved the stockpile before US strikes. However, the Iranian parliament is considering withdrawing from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and stopping Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA.

Tulsi Gabbard: Iran Could Build Nuclear Weapon 'Within Weeks' Amid Escalating Tensions
Shifting US Intelligence Assessments Add Pressure as Iran-Israel Conflict Deepens Former US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Iran nuclear has issued a stark new warning that Iran may be capable of producing a nuclear weapon “within weeks,” a sharp shift from her previous testimony just months earlier where she stated Iran was not actively building nuclear arms. Gabbard’s updated assessment aligns…

Watching people play through expert modpacks like Gregtech and Nomifactory is so funny.
The first episode will just be like, "Ok, so the first step is to actually collect 73836 rocks to knap into basic stone "tools" (sharp rocks) so that we can finally obtain the sticks and logs that we need to make actual tools (this part took at least 45 mins). Now with this, we are gaming. Consequently we can now find and use clay to make vessels for melting metal."
Then they embark on an adventure to find somewhere with rhyolite, an extrusive igneous rock that makes up the ground (you can find copper ore there) (getting all the copper took three hours) (all of this information is in the video). By the end of the first episode, they've got maybe an anvil, maybe some tools, and it doesn't seem like they're anywhere close to the industrial revolution.
Fast forward 6 (six) episodes, and they'll be saying shit like, "In order to make the next level of electric furnace, we need Naquadah and Lumium, so we're going to send our tier 5 Microminer into our 5x5 Microverse to reap our bountiful rewards. In the meanwhile, let's hop into the End using the end cake and harvest Krypton from the atmosphere (because that's apparently a thing) to increase the efficiency of our Naquadah furnaces."
But oh no! It turns out, to make the circuitry for this, they need tetrachloropolybutylethanobenzoate (C₆₄₈₅H₁₂₆₆Cl₄) and polybenzimidazole (C₂₀H₁₂N₄) (This one's an actual thing) (obtaining this will make commenters say that you have reached, and I quote, "Stage 2 Greggification"), its process of acquisition being somewhere between TREE(2) and TREE(3) steps long and requiring you to build so much industrial machinery you have to migrate to a space station just to avoid cluttering.
All of that and they'll still be at the Insane or Ludicrous Voltage tier (tier 6 to 7 out of 10)

Where is Iran's 400 kg stockpile of 60%-enriched uranium?
U.S. VP J.D. Vance was unable to confirm its status in an ABC News interview. IAEA head Rafael Grossi said in CNN that he was unaware of the damage dealt to the Fordow nuclear facility.

Hmm instilling the fear of weapons of mass destruction among the general population in order to bomb a country in the Middle East that does not have any weapons of mass destruction that we know of… Where have I heard this one before?

So it turns out gas centrifuges actually separate isotopes *axially*.
The closest comparison might be a cyclonic filter.

I like this thing that happens in a world driven by profit at all costs when a country decides to ban a form of energy production and then buy energy at a markup from someone else who produces it using the now-banned form.

The best thing about having gotten back into really reading this year, I think, is just to have all this information fizzing around in my head and getting to play red string theory with all the books I read at different times and for different reasons that all end up cross-pollinating with each other. Like my brain is still soup in a lot of ways but it's Soup with Ingredients now. stew with enrichment
