Dooa is a grieving and tired Palestinian mother taking care of her son, Omar, who is non-verbal and only 5 years old. They have escaped Gaza and now are residing in Egypt, but the rest of her family are left in Gaza.

Before the genocide, she used to run an embroidery business, she is restarting it again to raise funds for the rest of her family’s escape and for the safety of her child and herself. She was able to buy a sewing machine with the funds she’d raised, now we just need a little more so that she could reunite with her family and give her son a proper education.

I can only imagine how difficult it is to run a business alone and managing an autistic child. Please lend your support and donate atleast 40 dollars, that much is enough.

You would think that after nearly nine months that the Western world would realize that anytime someone asks Israel to not do something, they double down on it? I wish that they would stop wasting everybody’s time, especially the Palestinians, and just force the Zionists to follow their orders for once instead of thinking that begging for them to stop would work.

On an unrelated note, I envy how some people are still able to go out and fight for the Palestinian people despite the many heatwaves in the world. I don’t do very well in the heat and I kinda shut down because of it. I don’t have the Palestinian endurance, okay! And even they have a limit or else they wouldn’t be trying to cool off in the ocean. That’s what happens when you release a bunch of toxic chemicals into the atmosphere when you drop a bunch of bombs on a few cubic squares of miles of land.

remembering the great lost in nature by forest fires in my country, as a regretful 'mindscape'.

each year, with the global warming added to the mix, fires get more intense and even harder to fight in Portugal. this has lead to a lot of natural matrimony woods and lands reduced to ashes, the loss of houses, livelihoods, as well as great losses in animal and even human lives. even after 5years after these recurring incidents, most the people still not have the necessary help to rebuilt their homes and their way of living..

use fire with consciousness and responsibility, fire burs in a day what takes nature 10 to 100 years to rebuild.

On Melanie Martinez and merch from problematic artists

Recently there have been many people flocking to cover this situation that has recently resurfaced from 2017, which state that the musician Melanie Martinez SA’ed her friend, Timothy Heller.

First, it is incredibly disheartening to find that so many people are rushing to their favourite artist’s aid, rather than believing the victim. While it is well and normal, healthy even, to ask for proof of such events, there are EXTREMELY few cases of SA that have a perfect set of evidence, rather than the victim’s word.

The throngs of fans verbally harassing Timothy online about loving Melanie and her music, and berating Timothy for speaking out is absolutely disgusting. It’s been made very clear who actually cares about and supports SA victims, and who only supports them until the alleged assaulter is someone they look up to or know. On that matter, you do not know Melanie Martinez. People stating “She would never”, DO NOT KNOW HER. SHE DOES NOT KNOW YOU. Anyone is capable of it, that’s why anti-SA movements and believing the victim exists.

But to the point I wanted to get to, many fans who do believe Timothy are scouring the internet to find ways to discard merch and find artists that make similar music to Melanie’s. Now, it is not outside the realm of reason to separate the art from the artist. While yes, streaming music does technically support the artist monetarily, one Spotify stream (depending in location) gives an artist $0.003-0.005. The best way to go, however, is finding artists that do covers or make similar/inspired music.

On the topic of discarding merchandise, you do not have to get rid of anything. In fact, it is far more healthy, sustainable, and a big fat F-you in Melanie’s face. If you have a T-shirt, turn into a painting shirt or a pyjama shirt. If you have vinyl or CDs, listen to them. If you have her perfume, use it all up. If you have concert tickets, either sell them or go to the tour and enjoy the music. The biggest “screw you” to a multi-millionaire is to completely use their product, use it beyond repair, and then simply don’t re-purchase it.

This over-consumption and sense of urgency, almost, to discard these expensive items is telling of our current economic climate. Wear the T-shirt until it’s covered in bleach or full of holes, listen to the vinyl or the CD until it’s scratched beyond repair, put some water in the perfume bottle to get that last bit of scent out. Then, and only then, should you consider discarding anything.

To re-emphasize, that is both a giant “F-you” to the artist AND incredibly sustainable for the environment. This has been a long post but it is something I, and many others, feel strongly about. My heart goes out to any victims of violence and SA that were not believed, or that could not speak out. From one victim to another, I believe you.

hey, I don't know if Tumblr knows of the wildfire situation right now in Portugal because of everything else in the world right now, but I think it's still something worth talking about and it's a great opportunity to again raise awareness about forest fires and about not throwing your damn cigarette on the floor because that can do serious damage.

if you aren't aware, for the last 4 days, there have been serious fires in a lot of areas in Portugal and they're spreading really quickly (for measure, over 60 hectares of forest have burned down in the last 4 days which isn't a lot of you live in a big country but Portugal is smaller than lots of US states). I live in Portugal, and luckily I haven't been seriously affected by the fires, but I do have lots of family and friends in areas where the fires are destroying everything, and everyday I'm asking my family if they're ok. I have been spending my entire day fearing that the people I know have been hurt, and I truly wish the best to all the people whose house was destroyed or knew one of the victims that died.

And it's not just the fires that are affecting people; the air quality near the fires sucks. The sun and moon have been red and since yesterday I have seen more and more people wearing masks on the street because there are ashes everywhere. Again, I'm very grateful that I am not in a dangerous area, but this is awful. I feel like it's COVID all over again.

These fires have had various causes, and at this point I don't even know which one was the worst. What I do know is this: the temperatures are high, the wind is strong, and the humidity is below 30%, which means that all the plants are dry, and one cigarette not put out and thrown on the floor can cause a huge fire that will spread very quickly (because of the wind). If you smoke, please don't throw any cigarettes on the ground. One of those can cost hundreds of people houses, money, and even some people, lives.

I hope someone sees this post. The world that we live in has a lot of stuff like this and worse than this happening, and it's so important that people know. And if you live in Portugal, are Portuguese, or have family/friends that are Portuguese/live in Portugal, I am with you hoping everything turns out ok.

small same day update: one of the biggest fires is under control, but they say that things can change throughout the night. air quality's also supposed to improve, we'll see

next day update: from what I know the fire situation is basically the same but I think that things are getting better since the air is much better, the sky is blue again, and in the early morning the sun was red but it went back to regular white
