I don‘t wanna live my life actually I just want to draw. Wdym I have to do anything else but that? My body, my mind, my soul, it‘s there as a vessel for my art. Don‘t make me go work please :( I wanna be a free spirit aka sit in my bed 16 hours and draw then fall asleep then repeat. Like I‘m not even kidding. I dont wanna be a part of this economy.

I love when people from first world countries decide to share on tumblr for the bilionth time that they're using animals products since they're "sooo enviromentally friendly and use the WHOLE animal uwu"
Meanwhile, 80% of the deforested area of the amazon rainforest is used for cattle ranching. But sure, feel free to tell me how eco-friendly your leather is as the tanning poisons our rivers or how important meat is for european culture while latin america burns for your double cheeseburger.
Don't worry, I totally understand it's too much to ask for you to stop eating meat in the name of the planet, animals, and us third-worlders who will be affected the most by global warming.

"why is there no design in anything anymore" there aren't designers anymore. like that is the answer. there are maybe 3 people on the planet still employed in graphic design and they are paid less than half of what their time is worth

(Article is from The Verge)
I don't know why this is something we still have to explain: if your industry cannot exist without being destructive, then your industry shouldn't exist.
The entitlement from corpos, to say without shame "But we won't be making tons of money if we aren't allowed to exploit people!" like it's a normal, socially acceptable thing to say, is unbelievable.

Exploiting labor is never ok, but it's especially heinous when it's the unpaid labor of a romantic partner or caregiver.

"i do not dream of labour" is one of the worst pseudo-marxist taglines that western leftists have co-opted because when you ask them what they do dream of, they say traveling, studying, and creating art. broski, who's flying the plane to take you to prague? who's the security at the library with the texts you're studying? who are the clerks in the museum showcasing your art? like bro, you do dream of labour. you just dream of someone else doing it so you don't have to! you merely want to outsource the labour and make it invisible.

cost of living crisis bad yes but sometimes I think about the calculations about that one ancient tunic and think ‘well it’s nice that 1 bland outfit doesn’t represent the equivalent of $38,000 in labor anymore’

The fact that most European companies treat their non-European employees like shit- despite the fact that Western Europeans enjoy the highest level of workers' rights in the world- just because they can get away with it in the United States or whatever is proof why regulations are needed.
European workers are only treated better than their American counterparts because there are laws protecting them, not because European corporations are so much more humanitarian than American companies. Never forget that under capitalism companies will exploit you for all you're worth and all they can legally get away with.
