She'll bargain her body and end up falling in love...
Desperate to escape Earth and the overbearing chieftan who wants to make her one of his miserable wives, Shansa's only option is to flee with the Torians who visit her village regularly. The alien traders are willing to do just about anything for the right price, and Shansa's in no position to bargain over their terms.
Fortunately for Shansa, working off her transport debt in a luxury pleasure house turns out to be anything but a hardship. Every alien she meets has some new and fantastic way to drive her wild with ecstasy. It's not long before she begins to see herself living this life long after the Torians are repaid.
But when Shansa meets an alien who wants her all to himself, he threatens a lot more than just her very enjoyable gig.
This book is a standalone and contains a lot of aliens and a lot of pleasure!

Crew Skills
Trying to get Theradius's crew skills up.
Because he's a boosted character, he's the only one where he has enough companions to send 3 out at a time (one crafting allowable if you have a crafting skill; 2 gathering - if you are preferred status). My boosted character as a whole is a gatherer: so he has bioanalysis, archaeology and scavenging. His archaeology is at 100% so he's just upping his bioanalysis and scavenging.
Since my Legacy bank is not at a couple hundred million, I've been holding off on getting gold or purple gifts and upping Theradius' companions influence levels. I've just been giving his companions gifts as they drop depending on their affinity to "large" influence.
Kaiza is the companion gift vendor on Imp-side and on Star Forge, I tend to frequent her booth frequently because there I have the credits to cough up in order to buy my toons' companions' influence levels to L50.
Meanwhile with my Satele Shan toons, I have to deal with having to subsist on whatever companion gift drops there are from knocking off NPCs in the game. Hence the reason my poor companions are at influence levels that are laughable to most wealthier players with billions of credits. I just don't have the "millions" of credits that allow me to buy 100 companion gifts at a time to increase their influence levels.
So far Gault (because of gift drops) and Lana Beniko are my two main companions that I take on missions mainly because they're top level. If I have Lana with me I usually send Gault, Aric and Torian on crew skills gathering missions. If I accidentally key in Lana in one of the crew skills missions, I'll summon Gault to accompany me. Trust me, I've done that a few times now.
It took a lot of grinding (heroics) and undone planetary missions (I realized that when your character gets boosted, it doesn't do the planetary missions for you, it only completes all your class-stories; the planetary (purple missions) and exploration missions are still there for you to complete and those are lost credits to anyone that doesn't go back and grind through them. I went up six levels going from Korriban to Alderaan working through them and still have to work through till Corellia just to make sure that I have all those completed. Then I can do the bonus missions and the daily heroics to keep piling in the credits. I still haven't figured out the "economy" of the GTN yet, so that might come later to figure out how to get a few hundred million credits which will help my Legacy out.
Gault appears to have a high opinion of his capabilities. Theradius Vol: Do not fail me, Rennow.

swtor question meme: 9 (fav planet) and 30 (companion you wish you could have on another class)?
Oooh these were super fun!
9: Favorite planet?
Honestly? Zakuul. I just love the aesthetic. I wish there had been more opportunity to really explore more of it.
30: A companion from one class you wish you could’ve had on another class?
When I was playing early on, I always thought that Torian would have been an interesting companion for one of the Jedi classes. But this could also be because I have a longstanding Torian fixation. And I've been playing my BH so he's even more on the ol' brain than usual.
Thanks so much for the ask!!! 😁

Today is a very special episode of You Are What You Love! Host Marissa Tandon, talks about her own relationship with media and fandom, and how that relationship (especially with fan fiction) gave her the tools to become a writer herself. We're sharing the first episode of That Vampire Show on the feed, as the making of TVS was a big part of You Are What You Love coming together.
If you haven't listened to That Vampire Show yet, it's a fiction podcast that explores fandom and mainstream media's relationship with it. Kat Wright, a high school senior and fan fiction writer, wins a contest for her favorite TV show, Bloodlines. What she doesn't know is that the show's creator, Warren Young, has chosen her story because he hates the way the fandom perceives the villain of the show, Luther -- Kat's favorite character. She wins a trip to set, and her meeting with Warren derails her senior year, and changes the course of Bloodlines forever.
Some of the cast and crew of That Vampire Show has been featured on You Are What You Love's first season. Each episode, guests talk about the piece of media that changed them most as a person.
Lauren Grace Thompson, the voice of Kat Wright, talked about Supernatural, how the Winchester brothers helped her and Marissa process teenage girlhood, growing up in the superwholock generation, and how fandom has changed for the good and the bad as TV consumption has.
Gabriel Urbina, one of the writers on Season 1, talked about Buffy The Vampire Slayer, what to do when a creator lets you down, and what it was like to be the only fan of Buffy in his town growing up.
Berklie Novak-Stolz (@icaruspendragon), a new writer on Season 2, talked about Supernatural, how she wants to make everyone feel safe and seen through fandom, and how media can save us from grief and personal tragedy.
And Torian Brackett, voice of Freddy Graves / Callum Rainier, talked about Dungeons and Dragons, how the game helped him find community and healing during quarantine and life changes, and how the game has helped him with his voice acting work.
We hope you enjoy getting to know the people behind That Vampire Show in the best way we think you can: through the media that makes them up.

SWTOR: Returning companions wishlist
I like the way the class story companions are being incorporated a little into the story since Ossus. Like everyone else, I'd like more - but it's a start. (Spoilers for everything up through the current story beat, Whispers in the Force) I especially like that they are using these small story beats to introduce companions who really should have been part of the story all along. Akaavi's been sorely missing from the other Mandalorian content like the chapter in KOTFE and Spirit of Vengeance, and it's good that they are finally incorporating her. They found a plausible way to use Zenith. And if you didn't kill that Zakuulan person they found a way to use him again, and to compensate if you did kill him. I really hope this continues and that we see more companions being brought back. My wish list: Vette. I saved Vette, and I'd like to see her again. Torian has had lines and scenes regardless of that kill option. I know Vette doesn't fit into the Mandalorian storyline, but um, the woman spent a lot of time exploring tombs and knew how to unlock things that confounded the Sith, so I would have to think there's a place for her in a storyline about ancient Sith/Force artifacts. Talos Drelik. I am going to tell myself that the only reason we have not seen Talos yet is because they are cooking up a wonderful part for him in 7.0. I hope. He's been woefully underused. I've said before that his expertise could have come in really handy in KOTFE, KOTET and the traitor arc. Talos will not work for the Republic, and he's canonically left the Alliance for Republic Commanders - he sends in his resignation from the Alliance after Ossus if you're Republic. That can be a problem. All the same they managed to use Zenith for a mission, and he's very vehemently opposed to the Empire. So I have to think there's a way to maybe, I don't know, have a Republic commander steal from Talos's workshop while having Imperials work with him directly. Raina Temple. She has made it clear she wants nothing to do with the Empire or Republic now, given her letter after Ossus. I can't say I blame her at all. However she's the Alliance's liaison with the Chiss Ascendancy, and that has been left hanging. Thus, she could be used for storylines involving missions with the Chiss for commanders on both sides, both loyalists and saboteurs. The Commander canonically destroyed the Chiss Ascendancy's failsafe - something tells me they have more weapons tucked away that we don't know about, though. Ashara Zavros. Ashara says in the class story that she's neither Jedi nor Sith now. She continues that theme - if you ask Master Ranos about Ashara, she says that sometimes Ashara is the hero of the stories that are told about her, and sometimes she's the villain. In the Alliance base she's on the DS side of the room, channeling the Dark Side. That all means that Ashara could potentially work for both sides. I could see her cooperating with more open minded and neutral Commanders and shying away from the ones that are dogmatically fanatic about either the Jedi or the Sith. She might be way more receptive to working with someone who has split with the Jedi like Satele Shan and her enclave's students, or with Zakuulan Force techniques. And of course you found her on Voss, so there is potential there for stories. Risha Drayen. Risha's a queen, a pirate and an all-around interesting person, and this would give the devs a second chance at reuniting her with Vette. Given that piracy seems to be on the rise in the galaxy, what could Risha's knowledge and expertise provide to the Alliance on either side? Mako. We already have Mako's girlfriend working in the Alliance more actively now. Let's bring her in, too. She's a data broker with a lot of experience finding things in the underworld, which could come in handy on both the Mandalorian and piracy storylines. Andronikos Revel. As long as we're speaking of pirates, how about hiring Andronikos for a job? Dude was able to get into an Eternal Fleet ship on his own without being vaporized. More than one, in fact. I
can't see Andronikos working with the Republic at all, but we could have a Zenith type situation where one side works with him and once side plays him. Blizz. I have no idea what Blizz could do, but I just want the little guy to come back and have another fun storyline. Vector. Vector has some very interesting insight on Darth Rivix, and he's a liaison with the Killiks. And a diplomat. Surely they could find something for him to be involved with here, right? Felix Iresso. Dude has a holocron in his head. Dude has a holocron in his head. In a storyline about ancient artifacts, FELIX HAS A HOLOCRON IN HIS HEAD. And hmmm, Malgus has a scar on his temple too. Do you think...? I'd love to see Felix have way more to do because he's such a wonderful character and has been so underused. I don't think he would be married to working for the Republic either, given how they abandoned him. He could be open to working with Commanders on both sides, particularly those who kept their Alliance technically separate and are more even-keel. Pierce. I'm really surprised we have not seen him yet, Imperial-side. He's a Black Ops strategist. You have to think Pardax would want his help. Fourex: Same on the Republic side. Fourex's propaganda is something that might help the Republic right now.

“Like so, riduur…kat-tay-LEER da-RAH-soom.”
“Kat-tay-LIR—”
“Leer, think two ees in Basic. The letter’s a bit weird in Mando’a.” Senya shot Shae a rueful smile, and Mandalore the Avenger threw back her long red braid with a laugh, wispy strays forming an auburn halo about her head. “You’re doing great, riduur; it’s hard picking up a new language, especially when it doesn’t use the same grammatical cues as Zakuulan or Basic.”
“And you didn’t have an overbearing father forcing you to learn everything, Buir.” Arcann drawled from where he was underneath Shae’s speeder, his face striped with oil and a bit of grease, blue eyes bright over his smile. Senya couldn’t help smiling back, warm and happy, because her lone living child was so at peace with his rebirth, with this, with them…Hell, he was picking up Mando’a faster than anyone else on base, but then again, the Mandos had taken him in like a lost son, Shae particularly. Torian chuckled low and rich from his perch atop the speeder, working on the upper half of the engine while Arcann took care of the transmission, and Senya found herself happy to have a second son again, if in name only.
Torian Cadera and his wife, a former Togruta bounty hunter-turned-adopted Mando, had been mostly adopted by Shae, and while Chromi was out and about taking care of things, Torian had elected to help his newly adopted brother with the repairs that Shae had, quite frankly, gotten too old to do. Not that that had stopped her, of course, but Shae had allowed Arcann and Torian to take over, while Senya eased her out, swearing and muttering under her breath about being too old for this shit, etc, etc.
“No, that is true, but still, I should at least be able to say that phrase, Tyth knows you tell me it enough.”
“It’ll come with time and practice.” Senya flushed, just a little at Shae’s sweet, quiet smile, and she took her riduur’s hand, conscious of the fact that she stood almost a head taller than the other woman. Then there was her power in the Force…Senya still felt like the odd duck out, though Arcann had made himself useful enough to blend in admirably. But then, he and Thexan both had felt better with their fellow soldiers on the battlefield, rather than the cold confines of Zakuul’s palace. Vaylin too, though Senya had always been less sure of her youngest…but she shook those sad thoughts away, longing for her children, and knowing that at least they were at peace once more in the Force.
“So it will…How about we go find ourselves a bit of dinner? We’re old ladies now; we can’t skip meals.” Shae pulled a face at that, and Torian laughed, falling back a little at her expression.
“Admit it, Mandalore, you’re no orochick any longer.” She swiped at him playfully, and he grinned, cheeks dimpled and eyes crinkled shut, and Senya laughed, catching Shae’s hands and pulling her closer.
“Old my ass, Cadera, don’t make me swat you like your buir should have.” Shae ruffled his hair, though, grinning despite her protests, and let Senya drag her off, while Senya failed to hide her smile. “I see you smiling too, riduur.”
“Yes, well, it’s nice to listen to you…even if you’re a bit over the top.”
“Hey now, I’m downright boring for Mandalore; trust me, some of my predecessors weren’t that nice. But…eh, that’s old news. C’mon, let’s hit the cantina; that C2 droid found the best chef in the galaxy.” Senya chuckled at that as they took the elevator back up to the main deck of the base, protected by the heavy cliff overhang, with the rest of the Alliance stronghold carved into ancient bedrock. Odessen as a planet was relatively young, and life on the planet hadn’t progressed to sentient yet, which had made it perfect for the Alliance…and having been so young in the galactic record, it was also that rare planet that hadn’t been explored yet, hence the first come, first owned philosophy.
Not that their Commander had claimed the planet for herself…no, Ionial had taken care to file everything neatly, and for a Jedi Knight, that was a rare perk. Then again, she was married to Theron Shan…and as he was the main Operations manager to the whole of the Alliance, Senya had a feeling that paperwork was something that poor couple dealt with even in the marriage bed.
Certainly, she was perfectly fine shacking up with Shae in her old age; Mandalore had baggage, but so did she, and though they did have responsibilities…they could set them down for a time. Shae, however, nudged her out of her thoughts with a careful touch to her elbow, and Senya glanced down at her riduur, eyebrows raised…and followed Shae’s line of sight to one of the tables in the back room, empty but for a familiar figure in long graying braids, her slender hands wrapped around a mug of tea, her beautiful face pinched with weariness and sorrow.
“…That’s Satele…”
“So it is…Senya, love, how much to you know about the Grandmaster?” Shae murmured as they accepted their drinks, and Senya chewed her lip, reviewing everything she’d learned about the former leader of the Jedi in the last eight years.
“…I know that she was the Grandmaster, and though she still holds the title, she is no longer the speaker for the Jedi. I know that she helped train our Commander…and I know that she’s Theron’s mother.”
“…She’s a hell of a warrior, in the speaking halls and on the battlefield. I’ve gone up against her once, and out of respect, I’ll never do that again.” Shae replied softly, and to Senya’s surprise, the Mandalorian took her hand, guiding her to the room. “And out of respect, I think she needs a friend.” Senya glanced back up at Satele’s face, and even at this distance, Senya could see tears sliding down her cheeks.
“…You might be right about that. A moment…” She leaned over to the waitstaff who took their order, and hurriedly ordered a third meal of Alderaanian stew and fresh veggies, and Shae nodded approvingly. They made their way to the back room, and it was Shae, her eyes frank and kind, who slid into the booth opposite Satele’s seat, and gently clasped the Jedi’s hands. Senya joined her as well, her own long hands joining Shae’s, and that brought Satele’s eyes up slowly, tears streaming down her face, her pain so strong that Senya instinctively reached for the Force to help calm her. That seemed to help, just a little, and Satele took a deep, shuddering breath.
“…Can we ask what happened?” Shae asked gently, her tone as soft as Senya had ever heard it, and Satele gave a weary, wet laugh.
“…I tried to talk to my son, and utterly ruined things. Again.” She swallowed, with difficulty, but cleared her throat and took a shaky breath. “Theron…and I have a…well, complicated is too strong. We don’t have much of a relationship at all. I…when I got pregnant, I didn’t think about him, I didn’t think about being a mother…I was too worried about being found, about figuring out what I could do with him. My master, Ngani Zho, took him and raised him…I stayed for six weeks to nurse him until we’d found a formula that worked, but that was all. And I left him.” Satele’s voice broke at that, and both women slid around to hug her, letting her weep into their arms. Senya’s heart ached for her; she’d been raised with no attachments, to have no attachments, and no matter what the Jedi might say, that was something that damaged the very soul.
For all that she mourned her children, Senya was grateful that she’d been able to love them so fiercely. Not being able to care for her babies like that…it horrified her to her very core. One glance at Shae over Satele’s braids, and Mandalore’s eyes were shuttered, angry, and grieving too. I could hate the Jedi for what they’ve done to people…even the Sith cherish their children.
“I am such a horrible mother…” Satele was whispering now, and it was Senya who shook her head, voice low but fierce.
“You are no such thing. You are a woman who was forced to make a choice, with little regard to your own heart.”
“But…the Code…”
“Blast the Code.” Shae’s voice was as sharp as vibrosteel, and Satele flinched, just a little. “Sorry, but…Satele, you wouldn’t have made that choice if you’d been like me, would you?” Satele froze, and for the first time, Senya sensed someone just outside their door, listening…she closed her eyes, opening her mind, and to her shock, it was Theron. He was frozen on baited breath, his eyes wide, and Senya amplified the sound in that room, just a little, just enough…both Shans needed to hear this.
“…No. No, I wouldn’t have…if I’d been…normal…like him…I’d have kept him. If Malgus hadn’t been hunting me…I would have been overjoyed to be a mother…” Satele whispered, but it was enough; Senya heard a bitten off sob outside the door, and she reached behind her, grasping the younger man’s sleeve and gently tugging.
“Theron, you need to come in here.” She called softly, and he shook, but he obeyed her, watery golden eyes a match to his father’s, wide with worry and nerves…and it was Satele who watched him, tears still burning down her cheeks, who reached out for his hands.
“Theron…”
“…You really would have kept me?” His voice wavered, and Senya clasped his shoulder, willing all the love she could feel pouring from Satele into him, knowing he was only just Force sensitive enough to catch it.
“Yes. Yes, I swear, I would have…I would have needed Master Zho to help, because I was…I had no idea what I was doing…but I would have brought you home and to hell with anyone else.” She whispered, and he closed his eyes, lips twisting in pain. “Theron, sweetheart, I’m so sorry…”
“I’m sorry for what I said…I’m sorry, Mama…” He whispered, and Shae hopped up out of the way to let mother and son embrace tightly, both of them sobbing as the dams broke between them. Senya managed to order a fourth meal too, and when they all arrived, she laid them out neatly. Soon, Theron and Satele had calmed enough to sit back down, this time opposite one another with Senya sharing the seat with Theron, Shae on Satele’s side.
“I know you two are probably exhausted, but you need to eat.” She declared, and Theron’s lips curled up in a half-smile, used to Senya’s Mom skill by now, while Satele managed a wan smile and Shae openly grinned.
“Thank you, Senya, Shae…”
“Yeah, thank you…I’m so sorry I yelled, Mom…” Satele only shook her head, eyes softer now, and clasped his hand.
“You were right to yell about that. I never…” She paused, took a deep breath, and continued. “I should have talked to you about all of this…really, I just should have talked to you. I know you felt like the dirty secret for years…and understandably so. I treated you as such, and Jace…” Theron sighed, wincing, and she nodded. “I owe you a lifetime of apologies.”
“…No, just the one is good, Mom. You did give me to Zho, and without him, I would have…well. He explained a lot, especially when I flunked out of the temple; he could have told me to bug off, but he kept in touch, helped me get into the SIS, even went with me to get my implants in. And he never faltered when I asked if you loved me; he always said yes, looking me dead in the eyes. I…didn’t always believe him, but he always said yes.” Satele smiled, just a little, and it was Shae who spoke up, having stayed quiet through most of it all, uncharacteristically so.
“He sounds like a good guy…I’m guessin’ he’s gone to the Force, isn’t he.” Both Satele and Theron nodded, twin expressions of pain marking their faces, and Senya closed her eyes, pulling a well of comfort and care from her core and filling the room with it. She had always been a master at controlling her emotions, in no small part because she was so strong with her empathy, and Satele gave her a fragile smile, so shy and tiny, that Senya couldn’t help smiling back.
“Thank you, Senya…and yes, he is. But he went down in battle, as he wanted, protecting his boy.” Theron was picking at his steak now, his jaw tight, but he heaved a sigh.
“Yeah, he did…it…it was hell watching him die in front of me. But I wouldn’t want him to go any other way; whatever else happened, he was a warrior, and he didn’t let any fight go past him without taking a swipe. But he’s at peace now…kinda wish he’d visited, but…I figure I’m doing a good job if he isn’t coming back.”
“Or you two didn’t need me until now.” The voice of an old man, far older than Satele or Shae, even, filled the glowing spot now hovering next to the table, and Ngani Zho, glowing blue and smiling faintly, stepped from the shadows, giving Theron a gentle cuff on the ear, and tweaking Satele’s nose. Both made the Shans break into startled laughter, and their Master smiled fully this time, leaving Shae and Senya speechless. Force ghosts were…a rarity on Zakuul, if at all; Senya had sensed Darth Marr’s spirit on Odessen, alongside Satele at times, but only just, and never had she sensed Thexan or Vaylin…Shae looked almost frightened, and Senya clutched her hand, broadcasting calm.
“So, you two finally talked it over…about damn time.”
“Master Zho…”
“Don’t you give me that, it’s been long enough. Take your time, feel things out, but let the Code go, Satele. At this point, it matters, but not more than your boy…and Theron, so help me if you don’t cut out the swearing—”
“Look, I’m a leader now, I’m gonna swear a lot more—”
“I will appear in front of your wife and complain to her.” Theron froze, and Zho crossed his arms, looking as smug as a Force apparition could. “With her old master in tow.”
“…Orgus passed on.”
“Wanna take that bet, son?” Another crusty old man’s voice sounded, and the former Jedi Orgus, short-haired and taller than Zho, leaned over the other ghost’s shoulder. Theron blanched, while Satele burst into relieved laughter, leaning back and reaching over Shae’s shoulder to give the other Jedi a brush of her fingers. He chuckled and squeezed her hand before vanishing, and Zho smiled down at her.
“Now then, any more complaints I should know about?”
“No, thank you, Master Zho…and thank you for coming to see us.” Satele murmured, and he leaned over to kiss her forehead, his eyes calm and warm, then he leaned over to do the same to Theron, who hugged the old man tight, despite their bickering.
“…Tasiele would have been proud of you both. She loved you so fiercely, Satele, and Theron…your grandmother would have fought tooth and nail to bring you into the Temple from the start…But she left us far too soon. It’s hard, losing your soulmate…” He gave them both a wan smile, Satele’s mouth open in shock, Theron’s eyes wide and his jaw hanging slack, and Zho chuckled. “Never did really care for the Council’s strict policies…maybe that’s why we had a secret marriage, and why when you were born, Satele, we kept things quiet. Kinda blaming Revan and Bastila for starting a line of rulebreakers…”
“Father…” Zho gave a warm chuckle, and kissed his daughter’s brow, then his grandson’s, and vanished once more, his revelation leaving both Shans speechless, while Senya and Shae made to get up and back out. Satele came her senses, and shook her head, taking a deep breath. “Shae? Senya? Please, don’t go…I’m sure that was…absolutely bizarre for you both, but please, stay…” They shared a look, and at Shae’s quiet nod, sat back down; Senya was on firmer ground here, if only just, but Shae looked…spooked, for lack of a better word.
“…So, I’m guessing you never knew…?” Shae murmured, and Satele shook her head, eyes closed.
“I knew my father was a fellow knight, but…my mother died when I was a child, and I was already with Zho as his padawan. He was always just Master to me, but kinder, gentler…at the same time, stricter. Now I understand why…” Theron gave a huff of a laugh, and Satele cracked a smile at him.
“It all makes sense now…Force, it must have killed him to keep that secret to the grave…” Theron murmured, and Satele squeezed his hand.
“I think that’s really why he came back…to prove that we had more than just a shared Master…that there’s always time to fix things.” Theron smiled at that, really smiled, and Senya was struck by just how much like his mother he looked in that moment. He took after his father in eyes and coloring, but his smile was all his mother’s, with a touch of Zho in there in the quirk of his lips.
“Yeah, there is…” He leaned up, kissing her on the forehead, and sighed. “But duty, unfortunately, owns my sorry ass, and I need to go get things in order. Love you, Mama…make this a…thing? Maybe tomorrow?” He asked, sounding so unsure of himself, and Satele kissed his forehead back, both hands cupping his face.
“I love you too, Theron. Go, and call if you need any help at all.” He shot her a weak grin, and sped back off to work, while Satele slumped back into the cushions with a weak laugh. “…You both are looking at me like I’m crazy.”
“Nah, just figured you were overwhelmed.” Some of Shae’s easy-going nature had returned, and she motioned for the Jedi to keep eating. “Eat up, no point in wasting good food.” Satele obeyed, and by the time the three women had finished their plates, Senya gathering up all four dishes, Shae was gently rubbing Satele’s shoulders, and Senya knew that look in Mandalore’s eye.
They’d talked it over extensively over the last six months they’d been together; if there was anyone they might wish to add as a third lover…Satele was first on the list for both of them, and Senya could already feel the beginnings of a dyad between herself and Satele, which, had she not taken the time to research it on the Holonet…
“…thank you both. Sincerely. I…I thought for sure it was all over, that…that Theron would never speak to me again…” Satele murmured, and Senya cuddled up to her other side, rubbing her upper back while the Jedi leaned into them both, melting a little from the gentle touches.
“He’d already came back in the short time we were there…” Senya murmured, and Satele gave her a weak smile, gray-blue eyes weary but relaxed.
“Still. Thank you. For listening. For feeding us…and for not running away screaming at the ghosts.”
“…It was creepy as fuck, but you’re cute enough to make us stay.” Shae sighed out, and Satele burst into laughter, cackling a little as Senya hid a smile. “What?!”
“Oh Force, Shae, I know we were enemies once, but you always know how to make a woman laugh.” Shae grinned at that, looking smug, and Senya just chuckled.
“It’s a strong skillset of hers…just like my empathy is mine. Satele…I can feel the loneliness rolling off of you in waves. It’s been with you for years…” She calmed down, sighing a little, and Senya probed the tentative dyad with careful touches, smiling as Satele closed her eyes and probed back, understanding and a little joy warming between them.
“…so it has. So it has. Your empathy…small wonder you walled yourself off, Senya…” Satele’s eyes were calmer now, and she glanced at Shae, making sure that the lone non-Force user was also in the conversation. “You two…I was surprised to see you two together, but at the same time, I was happy for you…” She trailed off, looking vulnerable now, and it was Shae who spoke up again, this time her voice softer, that familiar rasp Senya’s favorite sound in the world.
“Well, if you wanna give it a shot, riduur, we’d love to have you in the middle. There’s something already with Senya and you, right?”
“How…did you know…?”
“I might not have the Force, but I can read bodies almost as well. And Senya said she’d sensed something the first time she’d met you, a…dayd, right?”
“Dyad, but close enough. A bond, between two souls through the Force. It’s rare…but it’s strong.” Satele bit her lip, worrying at it, and Shae gently took her hand.
“Riduur. Satele. There’s been a bond between us too, we were both just…too indoctrined by other bullshit at the time to see it.” Those blue, blue eyes, warm despite all the storms they’d weathered, watched both her riduur…and her riduur-to-be with a calmness that not even Senya could call up. “I lost my daughters…you lost your whole family. Senya lost everyone but Arcann, and for a time, she’d lost him too. We lost our lovers, and in time, discovered that those weren’t what our hearts had longed for. I had a long time to figure my heart out…have you?” Satele seemed to think on it for a long, long time, dipping her head to stare at her tea; neither Senya nor Shae were impatient, though, holding her hands, Senya radiating love through the bond, Shae’s eyes never leaving Satele’s face.
When those eyes lifted again, though, both women were shocked to see that the storm clouds in Satele’s eyes had parted, leaving sky blue irises, with a hint of gold glimmering in the centers. A warm smile, rich and bright and so lovely it made Senya’s heart ache to see it, and she leaned in, kissing first Shae, then Senya full on the lips, pulling them into her arms.
“…I have. I found where I belong.” Shae grinned, bright and fierce, and Senya laughed, happy as joy from deep within welled up and overflowed, Satele’s power second only to her daughter-in-law’s.
“Good. ‘Bout damn time. C’mon, you two…let’s go let the brats know.”
“Arcann will be thrilled.”
“Torian’ll probably just call me a gold digger, the little shit.”
“…oh crap.” Senya paused as Satele froze, her arm over the Jedi’s shoulder while Satele’s arms were around their waists, and she touched Satele’s cheek, worried.
“Love, what’s wrong?”
“…Theron’s going to kill me.”
“Nah, probably just bitch about it. Hey…” Both of them stared as Shae got a wicked grin on her face, and suddenly, Senya understood exactly how Hylo felt whenever Gault opened his big fat mouth. “We could stage a strip Pazaak tourney. Let the kid really understand what trauma is.”
“Oh Force, Shae, no.”
“…I have a better idea.” Satele’s voice was smug, and she pulled out an old datapad, pulling up a file that crackled for a moment before clearing, revealing a tall man with long dark hair in a half-pony tail, his robes a bit disheveled.
“Is this thing on?”

OC Talk #10
🎵✨My OC Ships as 90s songs!✨🎶
(Quick portrait of Saxan as 90′s rockstar, he’s kinda not thrilled to be there or maybe he’s just being a typical sleepyhead?)
[Spotify Playlist]
As usual the list will be long with some lyrics pasted on like the previous 2020 songs list. Up to the year 2000! P.S: I’ve actually had this for months but RL went awry and it resulted in this collecting dust in drafts...
( Arcann x Aryuni )
Westlife - Miss You (1999)
I can't sleep, I just can't breathe When your shadow is all over me baby Don't wanna be, a fool in your eyes 'Cause what we had was built on lies And when our love seems to fade away Listen to me hear what I say
I don't wanna feel The way that I do I just wanna be Right here with you I don't wanna see See us apart I just wanna say it straight from my heart I miss you
Björk - Hyperballad (1995) (To Arcann)
We live on a mountain Right at the top This beautiful view From the top of the mountain Every morning I walk towards the edge And throw little things off Like car parts, bottles and cutlery Or whatever I find lying around It's become a habit, a way to start the day
I go through all this Before you wake up So I can feel happier To be safe up here with you
Take That - Back For Good (1994) (To Aryuni)
Unaware but underlined I figured out this story, it wasn't good But in the corner of my mind I celebrated glory But that was not to be
In the twist of separation You excelled at being free Can't you find a little room inside for me
Aerosmith - Crazy (1993) (To Aryuni)
You know you drive me up the wall The way you make good on all the nasty tricks you pull Seems like we're making up more than we're making love And it always seems you got something on your mind other than me Girl, you got to change your crazy ways You hear me?
That kinda loving turns a man to a slave That kinda loving sends a man right to his grave
I go crazy, crazy baby, I go crazy You turn it on Then you're gone Yeah, you drive me crazy Crazy, crazy for you baby
Extreme - More Than Words (1990) (To Arcann)
Saying "I love you" Is not the words I want to hear from you It's not that I want you Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy It would be to show me how you feel
More than words Is all you have to do to make it real Then you wouldn't have to say That you love me 'Cause I'd already know
( Duriello x Enzaran )
Shania Twain - You’re Still The One (1997)
Looks like we made it Look how far we’ve come, my baby I’m glad we took the long road We knew we’d get there someday They say, “I bet they’ll never make it” But just look at us going on We’re still together, still going strong
Björk - Venus As A Boy (1993) (To Enzaran)
His wicked sense of humor Suggests exciting sex His fingers they focus on him and touches He's Venus as a boy
He's exploring the taste of him Arousal So accurate He sets off the beauty in him He's Venus, Venus as a boy
Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way (1999)
You are my fire The one desire Believe when I say I want it that way
But we are two worlds apart Can't reach to your heart When you say That I want it that way
Bryan Adams - (Everything I Do) I Do It For You (1991) (To Duriello)
Look into my eyes You will see What you mean to me Search your heart Search your soul And when you find me there You'll search no more
Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for You know it's true Everything I do I do it for you
( Eniriva x Torian )
Aerosmith - I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing (1998)
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender I could stay lost in this moment forever Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Lying close to you feeling your heart beating And I wonder what you’re dreaming Wondering if it’s me you’re seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we’re together I just wanna stay with you In this moment forever and ever
Jennifer Lopez - If You Had My Love (1999)
If you had my love and I gave you all my trust Would you comfort me? And if somehow you knew that your love would be untrue Would you lie to me? And call me baby
Now if I give you me, this is how it's got to be First of all I won't take your cheating on me Tell me who can I trust if I can't trust in you And I refuse to let you play me for a fool
Tina Arena ft. Marc Anthony - I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You (1994)
Moon so bright, night so fine Keep your heart here with mine Life's a dream we are dreaming Race the moon, catch the wind Ride the night to the end Seize the day, stand up for the light I want to spend my lifetime loving you
Heroes rise, heroes fall Rise again, win it all In your heart, can't you feel the glory? Through our joy, through our pain We can move worlds again Take my hand, dance with me, dance with me
*NSYNC - Tearin’ Up My Heart (1997)
It's tearin' up my heart when I'm with you But when we are apart, I feel it too And no matter what I do, I feel the pain With or without you
Baby don't misunderstand, What I'm trying to tell ya In the corner of my mind, corner of my mind Baby it feels like we're running out of time
Let it go If you want me, girl, let me know I am down on my knees I can't take it anymore
( Ezekiel x Avelyn )
Faye Wong - Eyes On Me (1999) (To Ezekiel)
I kind of liked your way How you shyly placed your eyes on me Did you ever know that I had mine on you?
Darling so there you are With that look on your face As if you’ve never hurt As if you’re never down
Shall I be the one for you? Who pinches you softly, but sure If frown is shown then I will know that you are not dreaming
Seal - Kiss From A Rose (1995) (To Avelyn)
There used to be a graying tower alone on the sea You became the light on the dark side of me Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill But did you know that when it snows My eyes become large and the light that you shine can be seen?
Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the gray Ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the gray
Britney Spears - Sometimes (1999)
You tell me, you're in love with me That you can't take your pretty eyes away from me It's not that I don't want to stay But every time you come too close, I move away I wanna believe in everything that you say 'Cause it sounds so good But if you really want me, move slow There's things about me, you just have to know
Sometimes I run Sometimes I hide Sometimes I'm scared of you But all I really want is to hold you tight Treat you right, be with you day and night Baby, all I need is time
Janet Jackson - Every Time (1997)
I'm scared to fall in love Afraid to love so fast Cuz everytime I fall in love It seems to never last
Everytime your love is near And every time I'm filled with fear Cuz every time I see your face Could it be that this will be the one that lasts? The fear does start to erase every time Oh could it be that this will be the one that lasts For all my times
( Jaesa x Rionnic )
Mr. Big - Just Take My Heart (1996)
It's late at night and neither one of us is sleeping I can't imagine living my life after you're gone Wondering why so many questions have no answers I keep on searching for the reason why we went wrong
Where is our yesterday You and I could use it right now But if this is goodbye
Just take my heart when you go I don't have the need for it anymore I'll always love you, but you're too hard to hold Just take my heart when you go
Bon Jovi - Bed Of Roses (1992) (To Jaesa)
With an ironclad fist I wake up and french kiss the morning While some marching band keeps its own beat in my head While we're talking
About all of the things that I long to believe About love, the truth, what you mean to me And the truth is Baby you're all that I need
I want to lay you down in a bed of roses For tonight I'll sleep on a bed of nails Oh I want to be just as close as the Holy Ghost is And lay you down on a bed of roses
Toni Braxton - Un-Break My Heart (1996)
Don't leave me in all this pain Don't leave me out in the rain Come back and bring back my smile Come and take these tears away I need your arms to hold me now The nights are so unkind Bring back those nights when I held you beside me
Un-break my heart Say you'll love me again Undo this hurt you caused When you walked out the door And walked out of my life Un-cry these tears I cried so many nights Un-break my heart
Mariah Carey - My All (1997) (To Rionnic)
Baby can you feel me Imagining I'm looking in your eyes I can see you clearly Vividly emblazoned in my mind And yet you're so far Like a distant star I'm wishing on tonight
I'd give my all to have Just one more night with you I'd risk my life to feel Your body next to mine 'Cause I can't go on Living in the memory of our song I'd give my all for your love tonight
( Jurbiend x Vianiel )
Madonna - Frozen (1997) (To Jurbiend)
You only see what your eyes want to see How can life be what you want it to be? You’re frozen When your heart’s not open
If I could melt your heart We’d never be apart Give yourself to me You hold the key
Backstreet Boys - Shape of My Heart (2000) (To Vianiel)
Baby, please try to forgive me Stay here don't put out the glow Hold me now don't bother If every minute it makes me weaker You can save me from the man that I've become
Looking back on the things I've done I was trying to be someone I played my part, kept you in the dark Now let me show you the shape of my heart
Björk - 5 Years (1997) (To Jurbiend)
You think you're denying me of something Well I've got plenty You're the one who's missing out But you won't notice 'Til after five years If you'll live that long You'll wake up All loveless
I dare you To take me on I dare you To show me your palms
What's so scary? Not a threat in sight You just can't handle You can't handle love
Cèline Dion - My Heart Will Go On (1997)
Love was when I loved you One true time I'd hold to In my life, we'll always go on
Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on
( Keoven x Avery )
Dido - Thank You (1999) (To Keoven)
I drank too much last night Got bills to pay My head just feels in pain I missed the bus and there’ll be hell today I’m late for work again And even if I’m there they’ll all imply That I might not last the day And then you called me And it’s not so bad
Westlife - Swear It Again (1999) (To Avery)
I wanna know Whoever told you I was letting go Of the only joy that I have ever known Girl, they were lying
Just look around And all of the people that we used to know Have just given up, they wanna let it go But we're still trying
So you should know this love we share Was never made to die I'm glad we're on this one-way street Just you and I
Whitney Houston - I Have Nothing (1991) (To Keoven)
I don't really need to look Very much further I don't want to have to go Where you don't follow I will hold it back again This passion inside Can't run from myself There's nowhere to hide
Don't make me close one more door I don't want to hurt anymore Stay in my arms if you dare Or must I imagine you there Don't walk away from me I have nothing, nothing, nothing If I don't have you
(Spoiler: LOL The Bodyguard anyone? XD)
Mandy Moore - I Wanna Be With You (2000)
So I'll hold you tonight like I would if you were mine To hold forevermore And I'll savor each touch that I've wanted so much To feel before, to feel before How beautiful it is Just to be like this
Oh, baby I can't fight this feeling anymore Drives me crazy when I try to So call my name and take my hand Can you make my wish, baby, your command?
( Nadia x Vyria )
Marc Anthony - I Need To Know (1999) (To Nadia)
They say around the way you've asked for me There's even talk about you wanting me I must admit that's what I want to hear But that's just talk until you take me there
'Cause I need to know I need to know Tell me baby girl 'cause I need to know
Westlife - Nothing Is Impossible (2000)
Isn't life strange A total mystery As we passed each day Did you notice me?
And I know girl You've been looking at me And I know now That you and me were meant to be What would it take to realize That in my heart No matter what they say
No matter what they say When it comes to love Two hearts are inseparable No matter what they say When it comes to love Nothing is impossible
Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me (1997)
Kiss me, out of the bearded barley Nightly, beside the green, green grass Swing, swing, swing the spinning step You wear those shoes and I will wear that dress
Oh, kiss me, beneath the milky twilight Lead me out on the moonlit floor Lift your open hand Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance Silver moon's sparkling So kiss me
Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You (1999)
Maybe it's intuition But some things you just don't question Like in your eyes, I see my future in an instant And there it goes I think I found my best friend I know that it might sound More than a little crazy but I believe
I knew I loved you before I met you I think I dreamed you into life I knew I loved you before I met you I have been waiting all my life
( Saxan x Linnea )
Jennifer Paige - Crush (1998) (To Linnea)
It's raising my adrenaline You're banging on a heart of tin Please don't make too much of it baby You say the word forevermore That's not what I'm looking for All I can commit to is maybe
So let it be what it'll be Don't make a fuss and get crazy over you and me Here's what I'll do I'll play loose Not like we have a date with destiny
Vanilla skies White picket fences in your eyes A vision of you and me
STEELHEART - She’s Gone (1992) (To Linnea)
She’s gone, out of my life I was wrong, I’m to blame I was so untrue That I couldn’t live without love Come back into my arms I’m so alone I’m begging you I’m down on my knees Forgive me
(Spoiler: LMAO that escalated quickly)
Westlife - If I Let You Go (1999)
Night after night, I hear myself say Why can’t this feeling just fade away There’s no one like you Can speak to my heart It’s such a shame we’re worlds apart
I’m too shy to ask I’m too proud to lose But sooner or later I got to choose And once again I’m thinking about Taking the easy way out
But if I let you go I will never know What my life would be Holding you close to me
The Corrs - What Can I Do (1998) (To Saxan)
What can I do to make you love me? What can I do to make you care? What can I say to make you feel this? What can I do to get you there?
No more waiting, no more, aching No more fighting, no more, trying
Maybe there's nothing more to say And in a funny way I'm calm Because the power is not mine I'm just going to let it fly
Bon Jovi - Always (1994)
It's been raining since you left me Now I'm drowning in the flood You see, I've always been a fighter But without you, I give up
I can't sing a love song Like the way it's meant to be Well, I guess I'm not that good anymore But baby, that's just me
And I will love you, baby, always And I'll be there forever and a day, always I'll be there 'til the stars don't shine 'Til the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme And I know when I die, you'll be on my mind And I'll love you, always
( Vaylin x Riornivo )
Backstreet Boys - As Long As You Love Me (1997) (To Vaylin)
People say I'm crazy and that I am blind Risking it all in a glance And how you got me blind is still a mystery I can't get you out of my head Don't care what is written in your history As long as you're here with me
I don’t care who you are Where you’re from What you did As long as you love me
I’m trying to hide it so that no one knows But I guess it shows When you look into my eyes What you did and where you’re coming from (I don’t care)
(Spoiler: he does care)
Aaliyah - Try Again (2000) (To Riornivo)
What would you do To get to me? What would you say To have your way? Would you give up? Or try again If I hesitate to let you in? Now would you be yourself Or play a role? Tell all the boys Or keep it low? If I say no Would you turn away Or play me off Or would you stay
Björk - Come To Me (1993) (To Vaylin)
Come to me I'll take care of you Protect you Calm, calm down You're exhausted Come lie down You don't have to explain I understand
Jump off Your building's on fire And I'll catch you I'll catch you Destroy all that is keeping you down And then I'll nurse you I'll nurse you
Sheryl Crow - Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) (To Riornivo)
Darling I'm killed I'm in a puddle on the floor Waiting for you to return Oh what a thrill Fascinations galore How you tease, how you leave me to burn
It's so deadly my dear The power of having you near
Until that day Until the world falls away Until you say there'll be no more goodbyes I see it in your eyes Tomorrow never dies
Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (1998)
And I'd give up forever to touch you 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be And I don't wanna go home right now And all I can taste is this moment And all I can breathe is your life When sooner or later it's over I just don't wanna miss you tonight And I don't want the world to see me 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am

Completely unrelated to an ask prompt I'm just bored so rate all the swtor companion crews from your most to least favorite.
*rubs hands together* excellent i needed something to procrastinate on anyway
OKAY. so. my least favorite crew probably has to end up being the consular crew, i’m sorry guys! i would actually die for Felix, and Nadia is precious and needs to be protected, but i could take or leave the other three (although Zenith makes an interesting companion for a ds consular). overall, i’d give it a 5/10, with a fem consular automatically bumping it up to a 6/10 because Felix is wonderful.
next up, at a solid 6.5/10, maybe 7/10 if i’m feeling generous, is the Trooper crew. Elara is my Wife and i actually love the extremely overenthusiastic war droid you get but other than that, most of them don’t stand out too much? but they’re a solid squad for the trooper, i respect that.
next we have the smuggler crew, who cannot rise above a 7/10 because of Corso. i’m sorry, i really am, Risha and Akaavi are fabulous, but Corso. just. Corso. i had to play a male smuggler because i could not handle the farmboy.
after this, bounty hunter crew, 7.5/10, physically incapable of going higher because i want to throw Skadge out an airlock. but they also have Gault and Blizz, who are amazing, and Torian, who i also love dearly, and just. the aesthetic of the four real companions and the most prestigious bounty hunter in the galaxy causing chaos and running around in a stolen, remodeled school bus is so fucking funny.
8/10 would be the agent’s crew. i actually really enjoy all five companions (yes, even SCORPIO, she doesn’t turn into a bitch until kotfe, at which point i will gladly murder her), Vector is one of my favorite base game romance options, Lokin is such a unique character, i don’t like Kaliyo so much as a person but as a character she’s a fascinating part of the agent’s crew and has the dubious honor of being the only older woman who isn’t dependent on the player character for at least part of the story, so there’s that, and then Raina is a delight and has such a cool story.
sitting at a solid 9/10 for literally two people is the knight’s crew. Scourge and Kira are possibly my favorite companions in the game. i adore them SO MUCH. Scourge is such a horrible dramatic bastard man and his and Kira’s dynamic in the expansions is possibly my favorite part. the entire time spent wandering through Satele Shan’s ship? Scourge’s “I NEED MY SPACE” line? please just kill me now. for the rest of the companions, T7 is a precious droid, i really could care less about Rusk, and i’d like to throw Doc out an airlock please. multiple times, preferably.
10/10 is the warrior’s crew. like, i don’t much care for Broonmark or Pierce (mostly i get tired of the “black ops black ops black ops” every time Pierce opens his mouth), but they’re both interesting characters that have a lot to add to the story in terms of the warrior’s arc. Jaesa and Vette are both WONDERFUL, i cannot overstate that, and gods, Quinn my beloved, i have so many Thoughts about him and my warrior and how that goes and i love the fact that we get to have a companion who isn’t completely loyal to us the whole time and i wish the game explored the fallout of that more! the quinncident is so interesting! please bioware i’m begging you explore the consequences of the things you put the player character through (where is my knight’s fucking Vitiate trauma you fuckers-)
finally. 12/10, literal perfection, could not have asked for a better crew - the inquisitor. the ancient Dashade assassin that eats Force users and shows his affection with death threats! the overenthusiastic archeologist with very little concept of “oh Sith temples are probably dangerous and i shouldn’t go there without a Sith”! an actual apprentice from Korriban Nox gets to train! the half-fallen Jedi who is also the Single Impulse Control on this ship! the disaster pirate husband who brings his girlfriend LITERAL SWORDS to show his affection oh my god has there ever been a more perfect ship in existence i think not. i think not.

Characters: Torian Cadera, Noara Starspark, Balic Cormac and Elara Dorne-Cormac (I have no idea if she will ever take his name, but they are totally married so that’s how I am writing it haha) Story: Jedi Sitters Word Count: 3458
Note: This fic was inspired by this piece of art by @jemichiart, and the name for the little Rishii baby totally taken from @outcastcommander’s suggestion. This also ended up much longer than I expected, but I enjoyed writing this so I am not sorry. EDIT: I am however sorry I forgot to add the tags and link to the picture. Oops.
The sharp tang of blood filled the air as Torian made his way through the Rishi jungle, rifle held ready in case he needed it. He had set off that morning to go hunting but, apparently, he wasn’t the only being on the prowl for a challenge. Whatever had spilled the blood tainting the air had apparently already found it’s prey. He followed the scent, giving in to his curiosity that soon turned into alarm when he identified where the smell of blood came from. Not further into the forest, where wild beasts were known to roam, but into a small clearing he was familiar with. A clearing that housed several huts belonging to a small tribe of locals.
Blood spilled there couldn’t bode well at all.
They were a peaceful sort, the Rishii, despite being natural born predators. Despite their sharp claws and beaks, and ever sharper eyes, Torian ahd always found them to be a kind and welcoming bunch every time he visited their home world. Now that he called the tropical world home as well, Torian had hopes of befriending one or two of them. While he had never heard of a Rishii Mandalorian, the idea of one excited him and he’d welcome any of their number into his hunting party.
Stopped at the edge of the clearing, Torian observed the carnage with a keen eye. Several structures were only partially standing, walls and roofs caved in. Not a single dwelling was left as adequate shelter from the elements. Bodies, all belonging to the feathered locals, laid out across the ground. Claws, far larger than any he had ever seen a Rishii possess, had carved up the bodies the same way they had destroyed the buildings, gouging the ground to leave long, deep grooves in the packed dirt.
Torian sighed heavily, he was no stranger to death but there was always something tragic about the loss of innocent lives. These people were not warriors, not soldiers. They were families, with elderly and young among them. Now he was grateful Noara had not joined him this morning, she was not a hunter but enjoyed exploring the wilds at his side. Death, especially senseless deaths like these, always weighed heavily on her. Where Torian observed the carnage with a sense of sadness at the loss of life she would feel the full weight of grief bearing down on her chest. He loved the former Jedi with all his heart, but her upbringing in the Order still influenced her to behave in ways he didn’t always understand. It kept life interesting.
The sound of something hitting the ground pulled Torian's attention away from the bodies laid out across the clearing. Keeping very still, he strained to hear any other signs of life. Perhaps something in the damaged huts had shifted he wondered. But then a second, clearer sound filled the air. Cracking.
Moving quietly, careful to step around the bodies and blood, Torian entered the clearing and looked for the source of the sound. Nothing was out of place in the first partially standing hut he investigated, nor the second.
At the threshold of the third Torian froze in place, shocked still by what he found as his heart pounded loudly in his ears.
Sprawled out on the dusty floor was a small creature and, though he had never seen one before, it was obvious to Torian it was a newborn Rishii ik'aad. A baby. Something thick and shiny soaked the ik'aad's feathers, pieces of shell caught in the viscous liquid and littering the area almost like shrapnel from an explosion. It looked as though the egg that little thing once resided in had been stashed into the cabinet above where it sat, the door hanging open on a crooked hinge.
It wasn't hard to make the assumption that someone, possibly one of the child's parents, had stashed the egg away in hopes of safety. Luckily the door had held after the damage to the walls had displaced it until the danger had passed. And, equally lucky, was that the ik'aad had been ready to hatch.
Stepping into the destroyed hut, eyes far too large for the small ik'aad's face, lit up in delight when he came into view. Slinging his rifle over his shoulder, Torian couldn't resist carefully scooping the ik'aad up into his arms. The little thing barely weighed anything at all and his chest tightened at the idea that it was made an orphan the same day it was born. Torian was still a baby when he lost his parents, but at least it hadn’t been the exact same day. A foundling before even getting a name. Brushing some of the shell pieces off soggy feathers, he did his best to check if the child was healthy but truthfully didn't know what he was looking for.
The question of what to do never entered Torian’s mind, there was no debate to be had. Until he could find the ik’aad’s family, if any lived, the foundling was his responsibility. First thing first, he needed to make sure the newborn was healthy. Glancing around the hut, Torian grabbed a large red cloth and shook the dust off before wrapping it around the child. It was a warm day, as was the usual on Rishi, but he didn't want to chance the child catching a chill from it's soaked feathers. Once satisfied that the makeshift birikad would hold the ik'aad securely against his chest, he was quick to leave the destroyed village behind and head back into the forest.
Head turning all around so much Torian was concerned the ik'aad would injure it, the infant cooed excitedly while taking in the world for the first time. It was all Torian could do to keep from laughing, the pure joy of seeing the world with new eyes was infectious. When he reached the rough path he had taken into the jungle, no longer having to duck under branches, Torian switched from a quick pace to a jog. He wanted to get the ik'aad home as soon as possible, not only did the newborn need to be examined by a trained medic but he also had no idea what kind of food to provide. Luckily, when he had left, Noara had said she expected her brother and his wife to come by soon.
Balic Cormac, a giant of a man, wasn't Noara’s sibling by blood, but by choice which meant more to Torian in the long run. He had grown up without his blood around and Noara's had given her away. Better to rely on the family that chose to love you when you needed someone. As luck would have it, Balic's wife Elara was one of the most widely versed medics Torian had ever met. She should be more than capable of giving the little Rishii a proper checkup.
The ik'aad made an odd huffy noise, one that sounded almost put out and made Torian grin widely. "Don't worry ad'ika, you'll get a better look later," he said, smoothing his hand over the ruffled feathers slowly drying on the child's head. He'd make sure the kid got an eyeful before they decided what to do with him.
Walking into the Clan Compound Torian was struck with the still unfamiliar feeling of being home, a warm sense of contentment and belonging that he savored. It wasn't something he had experienced often in his life, having an actual home instead of just a temporary accommodation. When Noara had started talking about wanting to settle down, leaving the saving of the galaxy to others while they moved on with their lives, he hadn't been too particular about where they ended up. As long as he could hunt, house his clan and be with his wife he was happy.
Settling on a tropical world, one with plenty of beaches and ocean to keep Noara happy and thick forests and plentiful fauna for hunting had turned out perfect. Even the base they found was exactly what they needed, large enough to house everyone and any new members the clan might welcome in the years to come and all the animals Noara had taken to rescuing, while being secure enough to defend if they ever needed to.
They even had enough space to put in their own little medical center, which was where Torian headed first. With the Cormac's visiting, it was fairly likely they would either be checking the set up of the new infirmary equipment as Elara had been their main consultant on what they needed, or up in the cliff-side apartment he shared with Noara. Elara was a very driven, serious woman and he would be surprised if she didn’t want to get straight to work. Also the infirmary was closer to where he exited the jungle.
Barely inside the door Torian knew he had made the right choice. The murmur of voices drifted down the corridor toward him and he smiled. He had no idea how Noara would react to him coming home with an ik'aad strapped to his chest and, honestly, he was looking forward to finding out. She found far too much amusement in surprising him with the newest beastie she had decided to take into their home, it was only fair to turn the tables on her.
Several people were gathered inside the infirmary. Balic was leaning against the wall, not far from where his wife worked and even slumped down slightly he was still head and shoulders over everyone else. Several of the younger clan members, all in varying colors of armor, watched the blonde woman with rapt attention as she gave them a rundown of how to use a new scanning device. Noara was lying on the hospital table, obviously playing the lab wamp rat, and doing a good impression of an injured patient until she looked toward the door.
Sneaking up on Noara was almost impossible for Torian, she claimed to be able to feel him with the Force. He believed her, but it was still a hard sell. She claimed it wasn’t the same as how she felt another Force user, but something special because of their connection. She could feel him when he was near, even sense a bit of his moods if she tried.
Of course that didn’t mean he wasn’t determined to try, and someday he was going to manage it.
Instead of pretending to be hurt, Noara smiled brightly when he stepped into view and he could see the moment she noticed the ik'aad. Her eyes widened in surprise and she jolted up off the medical bed, head almost colliding with Elara's who had leaned over during her lecture. Only Balic's large hand yanking his wife backward saved them both from having their bells rung.
"Cyare," Noara said, pushing off the bed and hurrying toward him. "Meg vaar gar ganar?"
Muffled laughter broke out among the younger vod in the room. Noara had been working on learning Mando'a for a few years now, but like now still managed to get some words mixed up much to the younger generation's amusement. Instead of asking what he had, she instead spoke a gibberish phrase about what he had undeveloped. Or half grown, vaar, could mean either.
Cheeks flushing, Noara knew what the laughter meant but instead of reacting further she peered curiously at the ik'aad. "Who is this?"
Torian leaned his head down to brush his lips against her forehead, eyes fixed on the vod still smiling about her slip up. It was of course a message, to remind them she was their alor's riduur. Noara was more Mando than he could have ever imagined a Jedi turning, but part of him still worried about her being accepted by his peers. He knew first hand that it was possible to be Mando and still be treated like an aruetii. He'd be damned if he would let anyone make Noara feel like she wasn't enough.
Turning their head, the ik'aad looked up at Noara with wide yellow eyes. Noara returned the interested stare, reaching out to run her fingers through the matted feathers. "Poor little guy needs a bath," she said, raising her eyes to frown at him. "Are you babysitting or something?"
"Or something," Torian laughed before giving a quick explanation of his day. His story had the attention of everyone in the room and Elara was at his side before he had even finished.
"You should have said it was a newborn sooner," Elara chided him, holding her hands out. "Let me take a look."
Nodding, Torian braced one hand on the ik'aad's bottom before untying the birikad. Once it was loose Elara had the little one in her arms and was making her way back to the exam table.
There was perhaps a split second between her stepping away from him and the loudest shrieking he had ever heard come from a sentient being's lungs. Noara gasped as Torian darted around her, beelining for the table.
"What did you do?" he demanded, leaning over the table to see the small Rishii ik'aad lying on the bed and looking completely fine. Even the squalling had stopped, the moment he leaned over the table. Confused, he looked at the former Havoc Squad medic.
Humming thoughtfully, Elara shifted to block Torian from view. Again the ik'aad started crying loudly. Moving back, the cries stopped the moment golden eyes met Torian's. "Stay right there, where the child can see you."
Noara stepped up beside Torian, pulling a stool over for him to sit on and stayed by his side as Elara examined her new patient. This time the instruction she gave the watching vod was more hands on than the lecture she had given over Noara's 'pretend' ailment. Torian didn't pay much attention to the words she was saying, explaining everything she did, instead he was drawn to the small Rishii's eyes that seemed glued to his face.
Finally Elara set her instruments away, lifting the ik'aad and passing him over for Torian to hold. She delivered her prognosis with a bright smile. "That is one perfectly healthy Rishii baby boy you have there Torian."
"He is such a cutie," Noara said, perched on the edge of the table behind him and leaning over his shoulder to run her fingers through the boy's feathers again. "If his parents are dead, what do we do with him?"
Torian frowned, he hadn't thought that far and now that he was holding the small boy in his arms it just felt... right. Like he was meant to take in this foundling as his own, as his son. They had talked a little about children, though nothing in certain terms and had never discussed adoption. It was as much a part of Mandalorian culture as armor and fighting, they even had a set phrase for it.
How was he going to tell his wife he wanted to make them parents without even discussing it? Watching her smile as the boy gurgled happily at her touch, he had a feeling it wouldn't be too hard to convince her.
Before he could work up an idea of how to start that conversation, Elara cleared her throat to get their attention. "Actually, you should know that Rishii infants are known to imprint on the first person they see."
"Imprint?" Noara asked, frowning in confusion and the words sunk in for Torian. He knew what it meant, but never imagined a sentient species did it. By being the one to find the boy he had all but sealed the question of their future.
"It's a long lasting attachment to the first individual or object a creature sees after hatching. It's common in avian species," Elara explained in her serious manner before smiling. "Based on the child's reaction to being separated I can only assume he has imprinted on Torian."
"So that means..." Noara's voice trailed off as she looked between the boy and her husband. "Are you a dad now?"
Torian pulled his son closer at the hitch in her voice, "I guess, I mean I want to know how you feel about it before deciding anything."
Noara watched him carefully for a long moment before looking up at the crowded room. "Could we have some privacy please?"
"Of course Noara-doll," Balic said before pushing off the wall where he was leaning. He started herding the training medics out of the room before dropping a kiss on the top of Noara's head and leaving with his wife tucked tight against his side. On the way out the door Elara called back that she would arrange for some proper food to be up in their apartment for the boy.
Once they were finally alone Noara shifted closer on the bed to wrap her arms around Torian's shoulders, her chest pressed up against his back. She laid her hands on top of his, helping cradle the child against his chest. When she spoke her voice was steady, though little more than a whisper in his ear. "Are you ready to be a father Torian? I know we've talked a bit about it, but this would be starting now. No time to come to terms with it or get cold feet you know?"
"As sudden as it may feel, I think I am." Torian turned on his stool, dislodging her arms so he could watch her face carefully, "what about you? Are you ready to be a mother?"
"To be honest, no. I don't feel ready at all," Noara said, sighing sadly. "I still don't really know what a mother is? How to do it, you know?"
Holding the child with one hand, Torian cupped her cheek with his other one. "I don't know what being a father is like either but together I have no doubts we will figure it out."
"He'd need a name," she said after a tense moment, leaning her face into his cheek with a smile, "if we can't even manage that what kind of parents would we be?"
Torian laughed, the anxious worry he hadn’t really noticed in his chest relaxing at her smile. "Fair enough. Any ideas?"
“Not sure, never named anyone before.” Noara looked down at the boy tucked against his chest. "His eyes look like little suns don’t they? So bright and full of life."
"What about Tranyc?"
She frowned, "that's Mando'a right? Star... something?"
Torian nodded, impressed that she caught the unfamiliar word. "Star-burned, but that's the literal translation. 'Sunny' is a more true meaning."
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Yeah, I love you Torian," Noara said, wrapping her arms around his shoulders again and kissing him. "And loving this little guy will be no burden I’m sure."
“No I don’t imagine it will be,” Torian said, standing and taking one of Noara’s hands to draw her off the table to stand in front of him. Adjusting his hold on Tranyc, he situated them so Noara was helping hold his son between them. “We should make it official, well as official as Mandalorians ever are.”
“I take it there is a set way to do this?” Noara’s eyes had a teasing gleam in them as she smiled up at him, “so tell me, how do we make Tranyc our son?”
Torian’s heart felt like it could burst, gratitude and admiration for Noara’s easy acceptance of their son almost overwhelming him. He had to clear his throat before being able to speak the adoption vow. “Ni kyr'tayl gai sa'ad.”
“What does that mean?” she didn’t look up as she asked, her eyes fixed on Tranyc’s bright smile.
“I know your name as my child.”
“Very Mandalorian, direct and to the point. I like it.” Noara placed her hand on Tranyc;s head and repeated the vow. Like when they had spoken their marriage vows months before, it took her a few times so get the pronunciation exactly right. When she finished, she gathered their son in her arms and pressed a kiss to his cheek before laughing. “We really need to bathe our son,” she said, “and Elara should have an idea of what to feed him by now.”
Torian wrapped an arm around her shoulders, guiding Noara out of the infirmary. “Let’s take our son home,” he said, the words making him feel like he could fly. His entire life Torian had wanted a family, one that he could do right by. The way his father hadn’t. The way Noara’s parents hadn’t. They had both grown up without a family but together they had made one all their own. And, other than perhaps the day Noara agreed to marry him, Torian had never been happier than this moment.
Translations
Ik'aad - baby; child under 3 Birikad - baby carrying harness Ni kyr'tayl gai sa'ad - adoption vow - lit. I know your name as my child.

The Sithilis Legacy

@swtorpadawan tagged me in a pretty cool KOTFE/KOTET report on their Legacy. ((sorry it took me so long to follow-up!)) Most of my toons exist independently, but there is a sibling trio. I haven’t taken every single one of my OCs through the expansions yet, and some are actually going to skip the Zakuul stories entirely. These are the ones who aren’t going to skip straight to Onslaught.
Tagging (srry if you’ve already done this) @vespertine-legacy, @commander-ralyle, @reliciron, @alexithemandalorian, @blackwolfmajik, @thelastenvoyyy and whoever else feels like doing this.
((RL is keeping me pretty busy so I will start with my main and flesh out the rest of my outlanders periodically))

Name: Kalligula Kallig
Gender: Male
Species: Miraluka
Status / Position: Alive / Dark Council Member, Commander of the Eternal Alliance, High Lord of the Imperial Hand
Relationship: Lana Beniko
About Him: Kalligula was born on a sparsely populated planet on the fringes of Republic space. The planet was known for unusual ruins and a strange cannibalistic species of red-skinned aliens who live within the planet’s hollow surface. What none of the local inhabitants knew was that the planet was once one of Lord Kallig’s harem worlds and most of them were his descendants and the crimson cannibals were descended from his Sith rivals and apprenteces. Twi’leks, Humans, Togruta, Miraluka, and others all lived in rustic harmony on this world until the Sith Empire invaded and annexed the planet.
Before the invasion, Kalligula and his twin brother, Zarmod, spent their youth exploring and playing games with their older sister. Kalligula and Zarmod were both strong with the Force and caused no end of (harmless) trouble for their sister. The invasion was traumatic and Kalligula scarcely remembers being separated from his family. He considers his youth to have been some sort of dream and his real life began when he was selected to train as a Sith.
As a slave, his entire life revolved around mastering aggressive Force techniques and martial arts. Kalligula was spared the worst of typical slave treatment in the Empire, but he was no less bruised and frightened for the majority of his waking hours. He developed a deep cynicism and succumbed entirely to Imperial indoctrination. Kalligula started looking up to Darth Malgus and looked forward to hearing his voice on the holonet describing minor victories against the Republic.
By the time he arrived on Korriban,Kalligula was ruthless, conniving, and manipulative. His treatment of Khem Val, and later his other companions, was worse than his own treatment at the hands of his previous masters and tutors, but he eventually came to feel less lonely and cynical. Kalligula’s conversations with Ashara also changed his outlook more than he would admit. The romance that developed between them further changed his views. His priorities changed from acquiring as much personal power as possible to changing the Empire from within to be a more rational society.
The events of Illum had a lasting effect on Kalligula. He believed Darth Malgus had the right idea, but failed to work with the old guard and doomed his own movement. In a twisted way, it was a great joy to defeat his former idol in combat.
Years later, when Lana and Theron were helping Kalligula form the Alliance, Kalligula remembered the lessons he learned from defeating the Revanites and Darth Malgus. He was committed to not repeating their mistakes.
He is still loyal to the Empire and hopes to incorporate his highly trained diverse forces into wider Imperial society.

Name: Lunfear (her true name is too difficult for non-Chiss to pronounce)
Gender: Female
Species: Chis
Status / Position: Alive / Commander of the Independent Eternal Alliance
Relationship: Theron Shan
About Her: Lunfear is hails from a noble family in the Chiss Ascendancy. She was part of a joint-forces project between the Ascendancy and the Empire. Lunfear eventually worked her way up through Special Forces and branched into Intelligence. The work suited her just fine because she was able to explore her fascination with the Force. She approaches the Force clinically and has little patience for spiritual nonsense. Darth Jadus interested her the most out of any Sith she met.
Lunfear met her match when Theron Shan helped her on Manaan. Their work together lead her to see the value of Republic allies.

@swtorpadawan tagged me in this meme, and I am hella into it. This is my favourite musing bc swtor in the canon of star wars is fucking hilarious. On a side note, for anyone who does this and chose only one oc, but has thoughts about the others oh my god do and let me know. Im a snoopy bish give them all to me. In this case I’m going to try to keep it brief while covering my main four, Viticalia, Thomsyn, Belville and Montym. Partly bc I’ve been thinking about their dynamics for a joint Alliance Commander AU lately
This got really long, bc I couldn’t choose one, and Im a wordy bish, so I’ve put the actual answers under the cut, so as not to kill everyones dashes
What would your OC do if they were thrown through time and into Star Wars the Clone Wars:
1. Who would they fight for?
I think most of them would either end up going independent or siding with the Republic. Montym and Belville would actually be the most likely to commit to the Republic, they’re both two people who value loyalty and understand that sometimes things need to be changed from the inside out. Thomsyn I think would stay with the Republic, but may end up with the Grey Jedi. She isn’t inclined to this whole “just peacekeepers” deal and would want to take the fight to the Sith directly. Viticalia would be an independent, committing to neither except for who would pay her most, or just destroy the CIS and take her place at the top of it. She would not be willing to submit to being ordered around by Dooku, or lord forbid Grevious or Ventress, and she definitely wouldn’t appreciate Sidious being unwilling to step up on the frontline with his troops.
2. If not a force user, would they keep their job (Would a trooper still work for this new Republic and would an Agent be loyal to the Separatists?)?
Bel would probably make a play to join the SIS. And then immediately question how the SIS went from agents like Theron to seemingly having the capabilities of two people and paperclip. I’m just saying how did no one put any of the diddly dang dots together. He’d be the type to pull off an op and then basically drop it at the Jedi’s feet like “here, give me a job.” I’ll get into why he would go to the republic in a bit.
3. Who would they hate?
Vits would despise Dooku and Sidious. She would like Ventress but find her training considerably lacking. She understand some cunning, undercover work, and what it can do, that’s why she and Bel get along, but the lack of commitment to stand beside your men and fight with them is something she despises.
Thomsyn would have some problems with the way the Jedi, but she and Montym would both have a much bigger problem with Senate oversight. They’re both used to working with politicians, but the inability to work without that oversight would bother them. Neither of them think the Jedi are infallible, but they both have a big problem with the idea of needing politicians to greenlight things like humanitarian missions.
Bel would have a huge problem with the Jedi that he keeps under lock and key. Part of it would be due to Kothe. The other part is...well he’s seen what happens when Sith lead, he doesn’t really think the Jedi should be given military power for their ability with the Force either.
4. Who would they get along well with?
Bel would actually get along really well with GAR Specforces. I think he’d adjust pretty easily to them, and people like Skirata and Vau would be comfortingly familiar as Bel actually got along really well with Shae and Torian. And he would very much enjoy the troopers, he understands their mindset, and especially with the Commandos, they understand the importance of intel people like Bel are meant to provide. He’d also be all in to spar with the ARC’s, and hone his skills against theirs.
Montym would have had a romantic crush on Obi-Wan within five seconds of the man dramatically dropping his cape and that’s really all there is to it. He would also get along well with Senator Organa.
Like I said earlier, I think Vits would have liked Ventress, and probably tried to poach her as an apprentice in a damn second. Thomsyn I’m not really sure who she’d get along with best.
5. What would they think of the Jedi Order?
Viticalia has, and always will be fascinated by the Jedi in that sort of detached, research-esque way. Otherwise she doesn’t care about them much, although she does find it a bit amusing to watch some of them tout the ideals of the Republic as things go down hill. She at least never had any misconceptions about the Empire. Thomsyn and Montym sort of understand how the Jedi could have come under such heavy control of the Senate. They both would have hoped for better, but aren’t that surprised, not after Saresh.
Bel could not care less about the Jedi. Likes them well enough individually for the most part, but that’s his approach to any and all force users really.
6. What would they think of the “rule of 2” Sith?
Viticalia thinks its the stupidest thing ever. Probably starts taking on as many slightly sensitive people as she can and calls them her Apprentices just to piss off these new “Sith”. Really she’s just adopting herself a bunch of children, but it counts and that’s all she cares about.
7. What would they think of having a clone and droid army fighting instead of typical soldiers?
Bel understands what its like to be treated as less than a person. As an asset only. It’s still something he does to himself, thinking about himself as only an asset or a liability, which is a mindset Theron’s working on having him get rid of. So he would sympathize pretty heavily, which is part of why he’d go to the Republic. He’s turned the tide of a war and saved countless of his coworkers in the military before, he would try it again.
Viticalia and Thomsyn would have more practical issues with the idea a droid army. They aren’t creative, they can’t interpret, and they aren’t built for every situation. Thomsyn however would have a lot of problems on the legality of clones, whereas Vits is used to slavery and is prone to forgetting about how that works.
Montym thinks the whole idea on either side is terrible, for various reasons, but cannot stand that clones are not legal citizens but the Republic uses them anyhow.
8. If Republic - if they became a general in the army what would their relationship with their clones be like?
I think Montym would accept a position as a General, Thomsyn...maybe for a while. Montym is a little better with handling the cost of war, whereas Thomsyn counts on herself to keep everyone around her alive. I think they’d both be on good terms with their troopers, Montym would take a bit longer, he’s quiet and a bit...odd, but when he likes people he makes it clear. Thomsyn would get close to them quickly, and each death would hit her pretty hard.
9. If Imperial - what would they think of the complete lack of sith and excess of droids in the Separatist army?
Viticalia has soooo many problems about tradition with the way the Sith operate, but in particular thinks the CIS is...stupid. The idea of a civil war is fine, sure, but their execution is lacking. Bel thinks they’re stupid but also finds it very funny. Terrible tactics, questionable leadership, not a good spy in sight... but he also thinks the way the Republic has alienated so many of their own...well he’s seen it before with Imperial worlds, and after Saresh it isn’t surprising. He’s largely disillusioned and just wishes someone would learn from their mistakes already. Part of what would push him to join the Republic in this case would be that he values peoples lives a lot more than droids, and he hasn’t valued the Sith as leaders in a long time, so he has no reason to go to the CIS and as far as he’s concerned, Republics got the better chance.
10. Consider they were born in this era - where would they fit in Clone Wars canon?
This I’ve actually thought about this a bit. Thomsyn and Montym would be still pretty much the same, Jedi, although Thomsyn would not have joined the Grey Jedi in that AU as she would be more accustomed to what this Republic is like. Viticalia I would go with a Jedi who leaves the order eventually, simply because it would be really fun to explore a much more light-sided Vits. Bel’s a bit more difficult to place, in a society that doesn’t put as much importance on genetics and perfection, he would have the chance to do whatever he liked, which he didn’t in the Empire. In an au that follows his canon life a little better, he would probably join the SIS, but more likely as an anaylst or undercover agent, not as a sniper and agent.
Honestly time travel and born in that era, they’re def aus I’ve thought about writing

I couldn’t decide between Arisa and Aayes so here’s both!
Arisa’s bluntness has gotten her in a lot of trouble. She thinks it’s kind of funny, honestly. She thinks it was flattering, in a way, that the Republic tried to hunt her down after she took down Kellian Jarro. She’s not a fan of the Republic, but she respects them somewhat more than the Empire. She also really hates Sith(with literally two exceptions). She secretly hates herself for letting Torian kill his dad.
Aayes, between her adoptive sister Xenli and half-sister Adira, has the most brain cells. She’s also very accomplished at healing and at diplomacy. She has never felt like she fit in with the Sith and wishes to explore other cultures. Also, don’t ask her about her relationship with Tyrans. Even if she is willing to open up about it, she’s either going to get uncomfortable or she’s going to start crying.
