I'M SORRY did they give Maxine ocd?? (not angry, more like just really surprised) like the light switch and then the "Wrong. Everyone I love will die" and having to flip the light switch again, like that's intrusive thought + compulsion. Was this intentional? Are the writers aware that this is an ocd thing???

#i swear by the end of this show maxine will just be me #like she's so much like me and now even more??#tbh this show deals a lot with mental health issues but with maxine it's never really brought up In The Show #at least from what i remember #she's usually kinda portrayed as this overexcited kinda annoying best friend who makes everything about herself #but really #with how she is and especially with her internal monologue #she so clearly has adhd #and a lot of the things maxine gets criticized for in the show and also in commentary is just things people with adhd experience #like i can relate so hard to feeling insecure about being too much #not wanting your friends to think you make everything about yourself #maxine has so many adhd experiences and now that light switch thing is a really obvious sign for ocd #i would really love if they explore that side of her more but tbh i'm not sure they will #i can't really identify if the writers are genuinely writing her as a character with adhd and ocd of if those characteristsics are just use #to be like haha funny #all the other characters with mental heath issues get serious moments where they show how hard it is #but maxine really doesn't #and having adhd is hard and there's a lot of sides to it that are really stressfull and not at all funny #so idk #hopefully they show those sides for her too #maxine baker #max baker #ginny and georgia #ginny & georgia #lea's random thoughts #adhd #ocd

tbh characters like galadriel are more important now than ever. there's morfydd clark saying that every time she's played a human woman, shame has been at the heart of the character, but there is no shame in galadriel.

galadriel turning her back on the ethereal light of elven heaven to hunt down and savage a demigod with her dead brother's dagger, only to accidentally fall in love with that demigod isn't the fragile, guilt-laden journey we're used to seeing women undertake.

it's unapologetic. it's defiant. it's staring into the storm and deciding you have the right to step forward into that tempest. (a decision men have made time and time again in story and in song while women are rarely given the opportunity.) she's not watching the rings of power from a distance. she's the heart of the show, her delirious appetite to kill sauron the only reason the story even exists in the first place. and yes, for those knowingly or unknowingly anxious about women, it's a hard watch. that's exactly why they should watch it.

i love galadriel. i hope she never takes her hand off the hilt of her sword. i hope she never learns shame.

as much as I love batgirl 2024, I have to admit the lack of Barbara Gordon mentions in the whole series so far, especially with the first arc having such a big theme of motherhood/daughterhood and the things that comes with it, makes me soo sad. Barbara was the first person Cass actually considered as a mother! Barbara, although she wasn’t the best at it at first, truly did try to understand and love Cass unconditionally even when she was separated from the Bat mantle! And that panel where Cass overhears Barbara tell Dick that she doesn’t know how to really care for Cass could’ve been the perfect parallel to the whole “is a Mother just being connected by blood? No, Something more is owed/Being a daughter is more than being connected by blood” lines that Cass says in the last (current) issue because Barbara, though she did not physically bring Cass into this world, has sacrificed SO much for her, and in return Cass gave so much back.

#don’t get me wrong I love Cass and Shiva’s dynamic and how it is being explored.#however I DO think you can make an excellent story about the two and their dynamic without Shiva taking a traditional ‘caring’ mother role-#-she realistically did not want or care for at least since after Caroline-and essentially Shiva’s old life and softness-died #although I guess you could say that since Shiva is both reminded of her lost softness and Caroline through Cass-#-Cass symbolizes Shiva’s softness and Caroline reborn especially considering Shiva literally points this out.#I think Shiva and even Cass certainly ‘sacrificed’ for each other and Shiva does care for Cass-#-but it’s not really in motherhood hence Shiva is not ‘soft’ enough for that. And it is not sisterhood-#-because Shiva sees way too much of herself in Cass (i.e “im an open wound” line) so that Shiva cannot fully project Caroline onto Cass.#I would say it is something between those lines. But care and fondness/longing for something lost long ago does not equal motherhood to me.#anyways sorry!! back to babs and cass <3 #mainly referring to that issue where Barbara says to Cass “People will forget about me [as batgirl] and that’s ok”-#while essentially handing Cass the title as Batgirl.#Barbara sacrificed the mantle she so loved-the mantle she was angry and devastated and overjoyed and is/was a part of her-#because Barbara believed in Cass and her spirit more than hers. more than anyone’s.#Barbara gave Cass giant leather wings to take to the sky with. SHE LOVES HER SO SO MUCH SHSHDHSKSMSN #Barbara wanted Cass to experience the same joy and freedom she got out of being Batgirl. and in response Cass states-#-“I will never be as good as you” because Barbara IS batgirl still in spirit. And as far as Cass was concerned she will never be as good-#-she will never be as self sacrificing as Barbara no matter how many bullets Cass takes for people.#AND THIS IS SUCH A BIG AREA OF CONFLICT BECAUSE BABS WANTS CASS TO BE HER OWN PERSON SO BAD #SHE WANTS TO LEARN WHAT CASS LOVES AND WHAT CASS SMILES AT SO SHE CAN MAKE CASS SMILE ALL THE TIME #SHE WANTS CASS TO BE MORE THAN BATGIRL BUT ALL CASS WANTS IS TO BE BATGIRL #WHICH IN TURN MAKES CASS WANT TO BE MORE LIKE BARBARA-OR ESSENTIALLY MORE UNLIKE HERSELF-#WHICH MAKES BABS INCREASINGLY MORE DESPERATE TO LEARN ABOUT AND LOVE AND SEPERATE HERSELF FROM CASS-#WHICH THEN MAKES CASS SO DEVASTATED BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO BE LIKE THE PERSON WHO ESSENTIALLY BIRTHED HER. Uzi being comfortable with V in the finale is so so funny. Includes her in the little secret handshake without a second thought and without even looking. Feels secure enough to both bat away V's gun at first and THEN lean back on it while steadfastly ignoring her. Like girl you're not concerned at all. You knew she wouldn't kill you. #toh hunter #the owl house #hunter noceda #hunter deamonne #smol hunter #toh edits #loz's edits #putting therapist-related notes here in the tags: Understanding Willow is my fave Season 1 episode --#coz exploring mindscapes..seeing your inner selves - esp the inner child - is a metaphor for something you can absolutely do in therapy #so this scene can easily be something that Hunter's therapist is guiding him through. in his imagination #it might not necessarily require the use of the same spell that Eda or the CaTTs used to enter Willow and Belos's mindscapes #and besides - for those episodes..other people were exploring their mindscapes. so this is different I guess #it could easily be a therapy exercise to connect to his inner child #and note: this is different from EMDR therapy as per my EMDR-related Hunter posts. this could be under a diff style of therapy --#such as Internal Family Systems (IFS therapy)#if it's EMDR...then it'd likely involve both Hunter's therapist & him exploring his memories. Hunter reports to the therapist what he sees #and the therapist would not be allowed to interpret the memories by himself/herself/themselves #his/her/their job in EMDR would be to reflect whatever Hunter shares back at him and guide him towards integrating traumatic memories

I'm alive, istg, and trying to love drawing again so I had to draw my BOY! My son, even. I think it's neat if there's some Viltrumite weirdness, so obligatory sharper teeth + the weird glow affect you can see some animals' eyes. I think Debbie should be vibing downstairs only to get jumpscared by the new set of glowing eyes coming down the stairs for some water. Bonus points if Mark starts floating around, and thus has no footsteps.
