btw. i found teloschistes chrysophthalmus at a state park yesterday. not just on a fallen branch but also on another, separate piece of fallen bark a few inches away from one another! they're both very small, like the size of dimes, it was actually kind of crazy. it's the first time i ever found them myself, they aren't terribly common lichens to come across! they're also one of the only species of fruiticose lichens native to iowa. will post pics to emphasize how unbelievably small and complex they are but they're in a freezer right now being de-bugged.

also the count for equisetum stands this year is now 5 and the slime mold sighting count is now 2!

i wonder what happens to lilac's soul once asriel gets defeated? does it go to kanako and if so would it stabilize their amalgamate body?

Hello anon im so sorry this ask is like 4 months late!!

Three possibilities since in recent weeks ive been back to thinking about lilac and thinking about different possibilities in a post pacifist scenario. (this answer does go back on that time i responded to an ask and said i imagined the damage to their body would be too severe to be able to come back from, errr i stopped thinking lilac for a bit and when i came back i’ve been exploring any many routes as possible of what could happen to them without restraint, sorry for the inconsistenties)

1. Their soul is capable of going back to their body despite the massive amounts of damage (lilac is coming back with one heck of a scar 100%) + lilac’s consciosuness fades from kanako as an amalgamate as a result. Lilac would at least still have some memories of their time being stuck with kanako’s consciousness but it may be a little foggy at times. Theyd still be protective of kanako but mega guilty for feeling like they left her alone.

2. Soul does return to lilako (lilac kanako amalgamate) and adds a a whole lot more stability to their body. Lowkey making me picture something like a dreemurr-reborne situation to anyone who remembers? They start to lose color and stability if lilac and kanako disagree on a matter or are emotional.

3. Soul does not go anywhere. It can’t return to the body and it isn’t compatable with lilako. Its rediscovered back in the jar as characters puzzle what to do about it. They ultimately keep preserving it until further notice. Its, surreal, to say the least, for lilako, when they were consulted about the situation and allowed to see the soul in its container. Almost freaky when looking at it and just feeling a lack of a connection to it.
