Columbo S10E4 “Death Hits the Jackpot” (1991)
Fern...spotted at 3:25? Do we think a print of a drawing counts?
Tumblr media
Not happy with that? Well, how's a painting of a fern?
Tumblr media
Finally, at a funeral, we get a real, albeit cut, fern.
Tumblr media
Finally, because I'm stubborn, here's a real, live, uncut Boston fern in the ultimate combo, at 1:22:46.

dubcon/noncon scenario, fem!reader on a wildlife sightseeing tour in Africa, getting separated from her tour group and fucked silly by a group of humanoid crocodilians (they’re bigger and stronger than her, chubby, and have cocks bigger than anything she has ever taken), and the tour group doesn’t notice her absence and leaves without her, so nobody’s coming to rescue her from her captors (or their numerous friends that they share her with)
Wow, re-reading this prompt, I may need to add it to my "revisit in case of emergency" list, because what shook out doesn't quite fit... Having said that, here's
Kabr0z Writes episode 87: Crocodilian
Find the rest of the Kabr0z Writes anthology here!
CWs: noncon; kidnap; oral sex; group sex
A/N: All hail Sobek! Lord of semen!
Having said that, I realise that my Egyptian geography is about 2000 years out of date. So expect some weirdness with that
#######################################
Kayaking up the Nile. It's been on your bucket list for years, and now you're finally here. You'd already ticket Alexandria off the list, then Cairo, Luxor and and now you're on the way South to Heirakonpolis, hitting all the important bronze age archaeology on the way to Abu Simbel.
Of course, you'd left the glittering cities behind in the Nile delta. This far south the riverbanks fade between farmlands and overgrown nature. You'd learned the hard way that farmers aren't keen on random tourists portaging their boats and pitching their tents on their land, so you found some relatively solid ground to drag your kayak onto, set up the pop-up tent in your pack and crawled into your sleeping bag,
You woke to a tearing sound, the thin canopy of the tent rent open. Three men stood over you, crocodile-headed and well-built. Each had a spear in one hand, a shield in the other. You went to scream. The butt of a spear hit you in the head, and you were silenced.
A cold stone floor beneath you. Shadows flickered on massive sandstone blocks, cast from flames you could hear in the corners of the room. You tried to look without being spotted, turning your head ever so slightly. One of the men noticed you. He yelled something. You don't know what he said, you'd never even heard that language before. Two sets of footsteps echoed down the hall, hurrying towards you. Strong hands lifted you, carrying you between two of the men as they walked.
Measured, perfectly drilled steps took you out of the room. The chamber you found yourself was huge. A ceiling at least thirty feet above you, held up by pillars as wide as a man is tall, decorated with fern leaf motifs. A statue stood at the end of the room, presiding over the altar you were being carried to. Twenty feet tall, at least. A man, tall and thin, in that way that Kemetic statues are. A tall crown sat atop the head of a crocodile. One hand clutched an ankh, the other a staff with topped with a feather.
Sobek.
Your mind raced. You weren't an expert on the Kemetic religion, but they were generally good natured gods. Human sacrifice is rare, normally it's bread or something related to the god's domain. Sobek was the god of the Nile, he dictated the ebb and flow of the yearly floods. There was something else as well, something you couldn't quite...
Oh. Yeah. That's how he controlled the floods. Legend has it that every year, Sobek would masturbate into the Nile, the river swelling with his semen. Indeed, in years where the flood was too low, the Pharaoh would ceremonially jack off into the river to try and appease him.
Suddenly, this all made a little too much sense.
The men lay you on the altar. You shivered from the sandstone under you, looking between the reptilian chin of the one above your head, and the maw of the one holding up your ankles, spreading you apart as his hips rubbed his cock against your pussy.
The one above you removed his loincloth, baring his cock to you. It hung over you, scaled and ridged. He pinched your nose, holding it shut as you tried not to breathe, not to give him the opportunity.
You failed. Instinct took over and your mouth opened to take a breath. It filled with cock instantly. You tried to bite down on it but he didn't seem to notice, the scaly skin unbothered by your teeth. He took it slow, crooning gently at you as he pushed himself into your mouth.
The other had finished rubbing himself against you, bracing his tip against your entrance as he leant gently on you. Your body let him in and you whined as every hard ridge and bump massaged the inside of your cunt.
It was like his cock was made for you, every move stimulated you in just the right way to raise goosebumps on your skin despite the tropical climate. You moaned slightly, the sound muffled by the cock in your mouth.
They both sped up, moving just out of sync so one pushed in a moment after the other. The third stepped up beside the altar, chanting to the god looming over you, cock erect and throbbing. His hands caressed you, one holding your right breast, rolling the nipple under his thumb, the other massaging your clit as his comrade fucked you without pause.
Your cunt clenched and wept, the sound of your arousal audible over the steady Kemetic chanting of the men. Your legs shook, one hand on your tits, the other holding the scaled wrist of the one in the middle. You bucked your hips against the cock in you, tongue rolling around the one in your mouth. Sticky precum coated your tongue as it worked on the length pistoning into your mouth. You drank it down, every gulp warming you.
The third one let go of your tit a moment, just long enough to guide your hand to his already dripping member. Your fingers closed around it, pulling him off in time with his chants.
The prayers grew in intensity. Every syllable brought you closer to your peak.
The cocks pulled out of you. All three pulsing over you, spurting hot cum as your hand rubbed your clit. You wailed in orgasm as the crocodile-men covered you in a stream of sacred cum, coating your skin, getting into your hair.
You fell back, exhausted, stroking the scales of the men standing over you.
Above you, an ancient god smiled
###############################################
Well. The next time I think to myself "I'll leave it here tonight and finish this part before I start my shift tomorrow" please slap me.
This won't interrupt regular posting, you'll get Episode 88 tonight, as scheduled. For now though, I'm playing some Stellaris.

sienna and fern + 4 and 15
4. How would they describe each other if asked? Physically? In personality?
Fern will say that Sienna is very pretty and that her feathers shine beautifully in the sun. She would describe her as a kind and extremely smart person who seems to prefer solitude most of the time and likes to organize things.
Sienna would describe Fern as if she was writing a scientific article about her. Tall, pale, rough fur and leaf-shaped curious eyes. She would say she is "too nice for her own good and either very brave or too stupid to see that the world can hurt her". (She sounds rude and cold but she likes Fern. She knows how it feels growing up with no friends your age and is fascinated by how fast Fern managed to befriend everyone.)
15. Do they trust each other? Why or why not?
They do. Sienna knows that Fern just... doesn't have any ulterior motives on her mind. She's straightforward about almost everything and doesn't feel good about lying to her friends.
Fern trusts Sienna for almost the same reason. Sienna is very blunt with her words but that is what makes her trustworthy and Fern knows it. ( And no she wouldn't just trust anyone. She's very kind but not naive. She may not know much about the world but her mom made sure she knows who to trust. )

BoughClan Naming System
boughclan and its neighbors along the coast abide by a strict naming system which is simple, but effective for cats of the clans to quickly identify each others' skills and life stories. naming ceremonies are not only held for major life transitions, but also for cats who display new proclivities for skills they hadn't shown before, such as cats who retire and become particularly adept at telling stories. name changes are celebrated not only within the clan, but also at each gathering as part of clan news.
as such, most suffixes have specific meanings, and many are reserved only for cats who take up specific roles. for cats who are generalists, or who have not yet displayed a particular proclivity for a specific skill, there are generalist suffixes which usually serve to affirm the cat's given prefix. attitude toward generalist suffixes varies between clans and individuals; some find these prefixes to be an honor and a sign of a dependable cat, while others find them boring and uncreative.
prefixes are generally given at birth based on the color of the kit's fur. in exceptional circumstances, such as an outsider joining the clan, they can also be based on other striking features such as eye color, body size, or, very rarely, scarring.
name changes are never issued on the basis of disability, nor are cats ever forced to retire if they have a disability.

We know Eli likes taking a lot of nature photography, but what is usually the nature of Krows art? In the past and now currently, is it a mixed bag? Like general content wise.
What kind of art style does he usually have? I know he does a little bit of everything but, what are preferred mediums or mediums he uses most often? What medium does he wish he did more?
Is there any reoccurring themes in his art and does it depend on medium [ex: may sculpt v diff things than he paints]?
Also does he have plans to get any more tattoos in the future, thinking about I because he designed his own tattoo.
In the past, it was a mixed bag and whatever he could get his hands on, which usually meant pretty cheap ass art supplies. So him being out on his own... kind of partly why he goes a little nuts spending a lot of money on REALLY good art supplies. Having been without good paints, pastels and the like, and now knowing what it's like to use them, it's hard to go back lmao. The content of his art was a variety of things. Places, people, things. Dreams he's had. A song that inspired him and painted an image in his head and he needed to get it down. In present, it's basically All Dove, All The Time, in some fashion.
For art style, the best way I can really explain it is like... a blend of the masters of the Renaissance, Van Gogh and Monet. So fairly realistic proportions but pretty vivid colors and impressionism going on. He absolutely loves painting with oils. Water colors is fun too and he loves like, using WEIRD means to paint. Not just a paint brush, but getting effects from using say... a fern leaf, a feather, a dried bouquet, a comb. All kinds of stuff. He also really likes for pieces to have real physical strokes, so you can literally touch and feel it once its dry.
Sculptures he leans more towards defined subjects. Painting and drawing you see more abstract works. With sculpting he loves the 3D space of the medium, so loves to be able to capture the likeliness of a subject (which these days is, well, Dove)
As far as tattoos go, he hasn't really thought about it. He probably would consider getting one about Dove. Obviously because Dove is... flexible in terms of who they are, I'm not gonna draw a design for what that tattoo looks like, or where it'd be. You all are welcome to headcanon whatever though.

Columbo S10E5 “No Time to Die” (1992)
Feather leaf fern spotted at 2:19!
Tumblr media
This episode is notable for being the only Columbo episode not to feature a murder, as it is about a kidnapping. It also features my favorite non-recurring character, Tubby Comfort. He's absolutely written to be fatphobic comic relief, but as a person of similar appearance and stature, I would love if my job was to be a criminal informant with a weirdly cuddly nickname who lounged in the sauna eating fruit all day. That sounds awesome.

Tumblr media
The Davallia shrub is a perennial that belongs to the fern plants. It is characterized by rapid growth and is a representative of the Davallium family. Popularly, such a plant is also called "deer's foot" or "hare's foot". In nature, it can be found in the tropical latitudes of Asia and Australia, as well as in China, Japan, Java and the Canary Islands. Due to the spectacular and rather unusual appearance of the dahlia, it is considered an exotic plant.
The shrub is native to the tropical part of Asia, as well as from the island of Fiji. It is a perennial epiphytic fern and is considered part of the Davalliaceae family, which was named after the Swiss botanist E. Davall. A characteristic feature of this plant is its spectacular silvery or brown hairy rhizomes. They are able to "climb" over the edge of the pot in which the bush grows, which certainly attracts attention. It is thanks to this that experts called the plant "hare's foot".
The bush can reach a height of 10-20 centimeters. This is a fast-growing plant, so all phases of its development are accelerated. Davallia does not form flowers, like all other ferns. The length of the finely feathered evenly dissected leaf plates is about 15 centimeters. It has a bright green color. The shape of the leathery vaya is triangular.
This is a perennial ornamental deciduous plant that doubles in growth during 1 season. It is not demanding to care for.

FlickerClan’s Legacy
Chapter 11
Hollowrunner stretched and padded out of the warriors’ den after an afternoon nap. The sun sat low in the sky. Her duties were done for the day. The dusk patrols already chosen, apprentices training or resting, and she had one last thing to do before the light slipped away: a much-needed outing with Jasminelarch, under the clever disguise of herb-gathering.
She flexed her claws happily as she stretched, nothing would keep her from this.
“Hollowrunner! Just the face I wanted to see,” purred a familiar voice.
She blinked herself more awake, only to find herself nose to nose with Orangesun. His long dark ginger fur brushed the ground and his yellow eyes were as mellow as always, unreadable behind an easy smile.
“Hello, Orangesun,” she mewed. “You’re not here for a patrol. So what is it? Am I due for mediation? I’ve been trying not to mutter about curses or ghosts since Amberripple nearly clawed my ears off.”
He laughed. “No, no. The whole Clan’s already heard about your little spat. But I’ve heard something else...something about you and Amberripple. Something about kits.”
She stiffened.
“And what would that be?” she asked, her voice steady.
“You were wondering about having kits of your own one day.”
Hollowrunner narrowed her eyes. “Maybe. I’ve had a hunch. Why exactly do you care?”
“Kits are a massive responsibility,” Orangesun said, purring in a honeyed tone. “I’m sure you know that. But it’s more than feathers and mossballs. Are you sure you’d be a good mother?”
The words were spoken softly, but Hollowrunner heard what was beneath them. She felt the doubt and the judgment. Maybe even fear. They struck her like thorns. It made her fur prickle.
“I’m going to be a fine mother, Orangesun.”
There was a stillness in her voice that left no room for argument. She wasn't quite sure what made her so certain, but in the moment she felt all of the confidence of StarClan in her chest.
She turned before he could speak again and padded away.
Jasminelarch stood at the edge of the clearing, sunlight against his shoulders. He waited like a soft leaf in the breeze. His ears flicked as she approached. “What did Orangesun say? I swear, if he hurt you—”
Hollowrunner pressed into his side. “He was fine. Let’s go before our duties catch up to us.”
They left camp at an easy pace, paws brushing through the soft ferns as the forest made way before them. Jasminelarch led the way to the flower field. A place they both knew well, nestled between the rolling hills on the far edge of FlickerClan territory. It was late enough in greenleaf for the flowers to be tall and full, their colors painting the field in brilliant reds, purples, and golds.
They spent the first while in silence, collecting plants that would impress even Bluegaze. Jasminelarch tucked herbs into his chest fur with care. Hollowrunner, for once, didn’t speak about curses or omens. She just breathed in the scents of the plants and watched Jasminelarch in his element.
Then Jasminelarch flicked a petal at her nose.
Hollowrunner blinked in surprise.
He darted away with a teasing grin, his tail flashing through the wildflowers.
Hollowrunner stared after him for half a heartbeat, then gave chase.
They raced across the field like apprentices again, petals flying behind them in streaks of color. Jasminelarch was faster than she remembered, but she was stronger. She caught up just as the sun met the horizon. With a playful growl, he tackled her gently into the tall flowers and they tumbled together into the clearing.
Petals floated through the air like rain.
They landed in a tangled heap, breathless with laughter.
Hollowrunner blinked up at the sky, face warm with something she didn’t want to name yet. Jasminelarch was beside her, watching her with a soft smile that said more than any words could.
The world felt quiet. The previous cold and whispers on the wind were nowhere to be found as she bounded through the flowers with Jasminelarch.
Sheepshade had looked so proud earlier that day, stepping into her new role in the Clan. Hollowrunner wondered... Would she look that proud someday? Would the Clan ever see her the same way? Would they greet her with gratitude when she became leader?
And if she never did, if something happened to her, would they carry her kindness forward, pass it on to the kits who would one day be warriors?
She glanced sideways at Jasminelarch and felt a quiet blush rise under her fur.
And then, as if summoned by the weight of that thought, Amberripple stepped out from the edge of the field like a memory made real.
Hollowrunner sat up in surprise. “Amberripple?”
Jasminelarch’s fur bristled. “Why are you here, Amberripple?”
The queen’s expression was unreadable, but her eyes held no fire. “I didn’t come to argue."
Jasminelarch looked between them, uncertain. Then he moved closer to Hollowrunner and brushed his tail along her flank, curling it softly around hers.
Amberripple sat across from them. Close enough to be heard, but not close enough to crowd. The silence stretched between them, its presence overwhelming.
“I’m sorry,” Amberripple said at last. “For what I said before. You didn’t deserve that.”
Hollowrunner nodded toward Jasminelarch, and he dipped his head. “I’ll give you two a moment,” he murmured before slipping off into the flowers.
Hollowrunner stared at the grass beneath her paws. “You were grieving. I understand.”
“I still shouldn’t have blamed you. The rogues… that wasn’t your fault.”
The silence that followed wasn’t sharp anymore. It was soft. Exhausted. Amberripple’s tail twitched once, then sat still.
"I'm terrified, Amberripple," Hollowrunner admitted. "These stories hang over FlickerClan like pine branches, but no cat ever wants to explain them. I have only had a few moons as deputy, but I expected to learn more than this. Instead, all I feel is more paranoia that something may go wrong the same way it did with Graystar."
Amberripple's expression softened. "One day I will tell you what I remember. I don't wish to, and I am sure that is one reason why so many cats are hesitant to give you answers...Great StarClan, when I heard you spoke to Scorchfern it was as if this fear I thought was gone came over me again. It is difficult to speak about these things, Hollowrunner. Think about how you might feel speaking to an apprentice about Graystar."
The two cats found themselves in silence once again.
“Do you ever think about Piperstar?” Hollowrunner murmured.
Amberripple didn’t respond at first.
“Sometimes,” she mewed. “I try not to. She was… complicated.”
“I don’t want to become her,” Hollowrunner whispered. “But I don’t know what to do with everything I’m feeling. I’m scared. Not just of curses or ghosts. Of what kind of cat I’ll become if I lose too much more.”
Amberripple didn’t offer wisdom or comfort. She just shifted closer and lay down beside her in the tall grass.
They stayed like that as the last of the sun dipped below the horizon.
"Then think about the sky with me for now, Hollowrunner. Look towards the clouds."
Above them, the sky shone in golden and soft reds. Hollowrunner lifted her muzzle toward the clouds.
Jasminelarch returned quietly, brushing his pelt against hers as he lay down again.
Amberripple followed Hollowrunner’s gaze and lifted her tail to point at a drifting shape.
“That one looks like a rabbit.”
Hollowrunner squinted. “It looks more like a plump squirrel to me.”
“There’s a flower,” Jasminelarch added, pointing to another. “There, see it?”
The three of them lay there, bathed in the warm hush of sunset, pointing out shapes in the sky like kits at the edge of the nursery.
The light dimmed. The grass swayed gently around them.
After a long silence, with only the rustle of petals and the faint hush of twilight, Hollowrunner spoke again, the words shook in her mouth, but not out of fear, but instead out of a strange certainty.
She drew in a breath, then let it out slowly.
“You both must not tell a soul yet,” she murmured, her voice barely audible enough to hear above the crickets. “But I… I think I’m pregnant.”
The words hung in the air like pollen. This came from nowhere, yet Hollowrunner could not be more certain.
As the clouds passed by she wondered how the mother she never met felt when she had this same realization. Did she look at the sky as Hollowrunner did? Was she scared?
Jasminelarch’s head turned quickly, his golden eyes wide, but warm. Amberripple looked over, too, ears tilting gently, her gaze soft and steady.
“I’ll announce it to the Clan soon,” Hollowrunner added, her voice trembling with emotion she tried to contain. “But I trust you both. An experienced nursery queen not afraid to claw my nose off if I'm wrong and my mate. I am lucky StarClan gave me both of you."
Jasminelarch brushed his flank against hers, his purr deep and immediate. “We’ll be with you, every step,” he promised.
Amberripple didn’t speak at first. She just rested her tail lightly against Hollowrunner’s. “You’ll make a fine mother,” she mewed at last.
The three of them lay in silence, curled into the hush of the coming night.
No more words were needed.
Above, the stars blinked into being, slow and deliberate. Below, the tall grass rustled softly around them, like a lullaby sung by the earth itself.
And though Hollowrunner knew she should return soon, and she knew that questions would come if she lingered too long; she let her eyes drift shut for a moment longer.
Perhaps her paranoia was only her worry of handling her duties and kits...perhaps there was nothing more.
StarClan and those around her would guide her enough. She was deputy for a reason.

Random bird facts! (Mostly about birds from my country cause that's all I really know but they're really weird birds here so you get some neat facts!) . My country's airforce mascot is the Kiwi bird. A very well known, FLIGHTLESS bird. Which I will never not find funny. . When we were trying (and failing) to do a flag design referendum, one of the actual flags proposed was a clip art and ms paint rendition of a Kiwi bird with laser beams being shot out of its eyes. Sadly, that option did not make it to the final voting stage. But it got close. . Kiwi birds lay a single egg that is roughly about 2/3rds of its total body mass. The thing is MASSIVE for it's size! How it doesn't kill the bird is still a mystery. . Kiwi bird feathers are very similar to fur, they have WHISKERS, they take up the same evolutionary niche of most rodents, and their nostrils are at the tip of their beak rather than the base like most other birds. The point of the nostrils being there is to help them sniff out little grubs and fruits in the leaf litter on the forest floor, but it also has proven useful during floods as they will simply flip their beak up like a snorkle and bob their way to dry ground. They're not great at swimming but they are great at floating. . Kiwi birds are nocturnal and watching them play on trail cams and nightvision cams is incredibly entertaining, they are so goofy, highly recommend. . Most of my country's birds are flightless as the islands they live on were mostly predator free until the introduction of humans. Due to the isolation, they all ended up evolving to take up a lot of evolutionary niches that would normally be filled by other animals. We have birds that are very similar to rodents and we used to have bird that took up the grazing/hunting niche that looked like massive ostriches called Moas, they most likely hunted smaller birds and grazed on ferns and grasses, and the only thing that dared to hunt them before humans was a giant fuck off eagle that was known as the largest eagle in earth's history called the Haast eagle. Sadly they both went extinct but we still have viable dna stored in labs so....could possibly bring them back? Maybe? Not sure if that's a good idea as they probably wouldn't do well with humans.
. We have the world's only alpine parrot! The Kea! They're our equivalent to crows as they are just as intelligent, but like if a crow had a knife and knew how to use it cause Keas have massive beaks and no fear of humans and have been recorded tearing open CARS to get inside because they saw something they wanted. Tourists are often told to NOT feed the Keas and keep all shiny objects and food hidden in the trunk of the car so the Keas won't see it through the windshield because they CAN and WILL destroy your car/purse/vehicle/bags/etc... to get what they want. They are not actively malicious btw, they're just like toddlers with inhuman strength and no sense of boundaries. They're very curious and playful, again they're very similar to crows and ravens, and they love playing in the snow! . We also have Kaka's, the Keas slightly more shy and better behaved cousin. Only slightly though. I got bit by one who saw I hid a bag of chips in my backpack and it landed on me to try and undo the sipper on it so I wrapped my arms around the bag to hold it shut and it literally looked at me and slowly pinched my arm with it's beak while staring at me like "open the bag, OPEN THE BAG! I want treats!!! How dare!" Didn't break skin but still, little guy was basically threatening to eat me if I didn't give my chips.
. Kakapo are our super endangered flightless parrots that look like fuzzy green melons I swear. There's been attempts to try and get them repopulated but unfortunately, unlike the Kea and Kaka, Kakapo are very....stupid when it comes to reproducing and I will not say more.
. We have giant fucking pigeons called Kereru and they are notoriously bad at flying to the point there are warning signs on roads near where they live that warn drivers of them potentially falling out of the sky.
. The majority of our birds are named after Pokemon naming conventions! As in Pokemon are named after the sound they make, and our birds are too! If you listen to their songs or the sounds they make (such as with the Kereru, it's mostly quiet but it has a whistle feather that makes a sound when it flies which is the sound it's named for) they sound very similar to their names! I think it's cool!
. We have burrowing penguins.
OH THESE ARE WONDERFUL!
I actually knew quite a bit about the Kiwi bird because I did a presentation on them in middle school for some reason (we all had to pick an animal and I was a weird kid I guess) but I love the bird facts :D thank you!

I know this isn't how your au goes but inspired by your posting I have an au where Fire just adopts all the kittens. Poly relationships are implied but the important part was the kittens for me. I made it FireTiger exes because I thought that was funnier, so he gets Bramble and Tawny. Then him and Graystripe raise Storm and Feather together. Cloud of course. Then I figure he can also become a father to Fern and Ash because he's around them all the time. And then incorporate my idea of SandDustFire being the parents of Leaf and Squirrel (where leaf is genetically Dustpelts). Not sure how I'm going to handle Gray and Millie yet tbh. Also have to find a new boo for Fern.
Gosh, I just adore all these connections. Fire/Sand/Dust is top tier imo. Sandstorm and her two boyfriends she has wrapped around her paws. Big families like that just make me happy. <3
