6 actors I find ridiculously attractive:
Jack O'Connell (SAS: Rogue Heroes) Robert John Burke (Dust Devil) Charlie Vickers (The Rings of Power) Josh Stewart (The Punisher) Callan Mulvey (Firebite) Rutger Hauer (The Hitcher)

btw if you liked the, "vampirism as allegory for white supremacist ideology" element of Sinners (2025). Dir. Ryan Coogler, you should check out the series Firebite (2021). Dir. Warwick Thornton where vampirism is a metaphor for the colonialism and attempted genocide of Aboriginal peoples 🖤💛❤️

I think one thing that Deadloch has done really really well, in my opinion is mixing in overall popular music and australian stuff.
Like, yeah the Choir is singing Divinyls classic 'I Touch Myself' in the first ep, but I know that in the US that song is a one hit wonder, outside of some of the Kylie songs mentioned in episode I don't things like Pash and Boys in Town crossover internationally, and I love that.
Something Australians are historically really self consious about is our national identiy, especially in our art, becaucse we want to be true but that requires the moritfing idea of acknowledging what Australians are like and what would the Brits think?. this is called Cultural Cringe, and is also experianced by a lot of places in the work, especially in the Anglosphere if you arent a white Yank or Pom.
Not for nothing, this Cultural Cringe has been fought back against since the term was coined and in the early wave of international streamer co-productions you get some great, earnest Australian stuff; Cleverman and Firebite being the most prominant imo. both of those shows ALSO do great stuff with music- I will NEVER be over Rob Collins singing 'Black Boy' in the pub. Those two shows run into the issue of A) not being well marketed, and B) having an even bigger level of Cultural Uncanny Valley to scale. It's telling that of the two Vampire show's staring Australian men on AMC, the one with a white australian lead gets more praise 🙃
But yeah, its just really nice to see Australian characters listening to and talking about Australian music in the show with an arts festival setting. More of Australians talking about Australian things pls

ok firebite is 🤌 very good i am much enjoying. Sending me back into my childhood a bit but I'm definitely keen for more. Like already we have the vampire vs mob and our heroes vs bloodhunters conflict set up. And the character dynamics and conflicts qnd tidbits of backstory and and and *devolves into unitelligible shrieking and gibbering*
firebite is on tv tonight and i don't have to work until late tomorrow so i can stay up qnd watch the aboriginal vampire hunter show 🥰🥰

random, but i see this image go around a lot and get used for memes on pinterest (mainly brandit aka firebrand x HABIT ship memes) ↓
Tumblr media
i just wanted to say something about it ☝️🤓
it was uploaded (im assuming) years ago, so not many know where it originates from. due to the heavy editing and dark + purple theme, people often assume its firebrand and HABIT. ive also seen people claim this is a screenshot from the video "Next" on the everymanhybrid channel.
i just wanted to clarify that neither of those things are correct, this photo is not connected to everymanhybrid or tribetwelve. this is just a picture of adam rosner and evan jennings dressed as HABIT during a con event back in 2014. this picture was taken and uploaded by a fan awhile back.
someone saved the photo and added a filter to make it seem more like firebrand and HABIT, which caused this confusion.
i think im pretty good at piecing together where slenderverse related media comes from, so if you have any pictures you are curious about, feel free to ask me about them ‼️ i will do my best to give you answers :D

Right like I've been waiting for the media brave enough to make vampires a metaphor for colonisation/capitalism/patriarchy/all kinds of oligarchies leeching off the inferior classes ykwim.. and I thought Iwtv the show was going there with Lestat and the Theatre des Vampires but apparently I was hoping too much...... when inevitably the question of vampire loneliness and nihilism comes up I'm like you could literally do anything, every person you love you could make them immortal, try every single hobby on earth, educate yourself so much you single handedly find the cure for cancer idk and you choose to rot in your living room instead............ bruh
omg YES. vampires as metaphor for capitalism would be sooooo sexy. I agree iwtv was such a let down! I will suggest to you, if you're looking for a show that uses vampires as a metaphor for colonialism, PLEASE give Firebite a try if you haven't already!! it's a tv series about Aboriginal (Indigenous) father/daughter vampire hunters set in version of Australia where vampires came as part of the colonising force that invaded 200 years ago. It's SO GOOD. I wrote about why I loved it here:

AMC said themselves, they don't want to make something for everyone, but rather shows that are everything for someone
Oooh where did they say this? Because a) I love that as an ethos and b) IWTV is EVERYTHING for quite a few people, so it definitely fits that bill. Rolin said that to a fan on camera, I remember, that he's never had the experience of knowing that for a small portion of the world's population, they are making *the* show
I think it's actually a Rolin interview where he says that specifically is AMC's approach, and I can't find that exact interview now (typical, haha), but Dan McDermott who's Head of Original Programming at AMC did say basically the same thing in an interview with Vulture back in 2021:
We’re not all things to all people. We’re more about super-serving specific audiences [with] content that they already have a demonstrated affinity for. To use retail as an analogy, there are big box stores out there that the whole family can walk into and everybody can get something for themselves. And then there are more highly curated boutiques, whether it’s Nike or Lululemon or a Gucci, that are all about craftsmanship and bespoke, highly curated offerings. We clearly are in the latter category, and we think that’s our advantage. We’re not competing with the Netflixes and the Disney Pluses and the Amazons. They’re in an arms race to find mega-ginormous content that they can spend a fortune on. That’s not our business.
The whole interview is actually an interesting read though in how AMC is thinking strategically, if you're interested in that sort of thing, haha.

Man I really hope that Jada Alberts and Rob Collins show up in Deadloch season two, I miss them and I think both are from the NT, so it'd be cool to see them in the same show again

if brandit/firebit had one wholesome song, it'll def be bluish by animal collective
"I'm getting lost in your curls
I'm drawing pictures on your skin
So soft it twirls" - Habit to Firebrand
"I like your looks when you get mean
I know I shouldn't say so but when you
Claw me like a cat, I'm beaming" - Firebrand to Habit
OOUGHHHHHH,,;,,;;;;;;; NO IM NOT OKAYUALL
"When we do talk from far away
It's so hard for me
Only to get the urge to kiss you there" - I LOOOVE the idea of both missing each other so bad
there's SO MUCHMORE I WANT TO SAY but ill just stay shut,,, for now
