TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what are your character’s abilities?
lich physiology and ( necromantic ) power bestowal.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level three.
what can your character do?
with lich physiology, he is completely immortal through his phylactery and can raise the dead. once risen, they’re connected to him psychically. he can mutate/give powers to the dead, but typically needs to reanimate them himself.
what can’t they do?
if his phylactery is destroyed, santiago will die. he can’t bestow powers on anyone alive.
what are their weaknesses?
santiago has to keep his phylactery within a certain ( reasonable ) range of him at all times, making it more difficult to hide away. he has to be within a block’s range of someone dead to revive them. he cannot bestow multiple powers on one individual, choose what power they will receive, or take them away once they’ve been given.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
at three years old, he started being able to raise the dead. just small animals, but enough for his parents to notice. he was essentially raised knowing about what he was.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
yes, because that’s the only way he can keep his power and remain in control... and also be dead. he wouldn’t want to become the one thing he hates, the living.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
the affairs of living society is completely their own, but what he wants to accomplish in the short term is bolstering his forces to at least half the city. and long term? well, naturally, destroy all life on earth.

what is your [ /character’s ] ability?
↳ CHAOS MAGIC + PSYCHIC PROBABILITY MANIPULATION. able to harness chaos magic, analyn shapes & manipulates this magic for different effects, such as forming tangible constructs of energy or casting spells without incantation. born with natural chaos magic already flowing through her, these powers manifest as a luminescent purplish mist / vapor mixed with black smoke emanating from her hands and body. they’re reliant on movement and focus, which means her enemies or opponents can stop her from using her powers by disrupting her concentration or restricting her movement. TL;DR. peep this doc here for a COMPLETE BREAKDOWN ♡
what is your [ /character’s ] government-assigned classification level?
↳ level 4.
what can you [ /your character ] do?
↳ as a whole, she’s got a real special blend of both her natural chaos magic & the psychic probability manipulation, that she absorbed from her brother. in a whole, she’s capable of incredibly vast psionic feats, as well as acts of sorcery & probability control. described as a being that’d tear apart the ones loved most, from the inside. something dreadful & to be feared ( though outwardly, she’s appears to hold no such threat. on the inside, there’s a constant storm brewing. waiting for the snap, to unleash everything it’s capable of ).
what can’t you [ /they ] do?
↳ though analyn was born with natural chaos magic already, mastery over what she’s currently capable of took quite literally her entire lifetime. even with everything she’s accomplished, there’s still so much she hasn’t even begun to tap into yet. this is especially the case with the power she absorbed from her brother. while it’s mainly still something that acts of it’s own accord ( similar to jules ), she’s managed to acquire much more of a grasp on it.
what are your [ /their ] weaknesses?
↳ contrary to many of the myths surrounding her innate power, analyn’s specific blend of ability must be completely balanced. both over AND under use of her chaos magic can have severe consequences. too much usage could lead to being completely succumbed to the natural input of chaos residing within her & corrupting her very being. more usage of her ‘ more advanced ’ abilities, cause an inky black to creep steadily from fingertips to up to her forearms. coincidentally, under use of it, can lead to the same thing. analyn’s chaos magic is heavily emotionally based. mainly in times of distress, will her control become void & the magic will act of it’s own accord.
how did you [ /they ] first come to the realization that you [ /they ] were a mutant?
↳ she was born with natural chaos magic already. it’s unsure where / how it came to be, just that from the moment her eyes opened, she’d become something extraordinary. while it didn’t necessarily REAMIN dormant, it hadn’t TRULY MANIFESTED itself to full-scale until she was around six or seven. ALSO WHILE TECHNICALLY analyn’s CAPABLE of using the FULL EXTENT of her magic, there’s a LIMIT as to HOW MUCH she’s able to unlock consciously. as previously stated her powers are HEAVILY LINKED to her emotional / mental state. for example, her power absorption, it wasn’t something she’d worked at earning. instead it happened on a whim, after the breakdown that’d come with viewing her brother’s deceased body. such is the case with all of her techniques, they happen & are learnt ON A WHIM. which leads to believe that at some-point, she’ll gain COMPLETE CONTROL over the magic & be able to bend it on will.
if given the choice, would you [ /they ] remain a mutant? why or why not?
↳ it’s very on the fence. while she could never bring herself to purposefully inflict harm / damage onto a person, it’s happened unintentionally on more occasions she’d care for. with each time, it’s been on the manifestation of a newly acquired technique. still, with her chaos magic evolving throughout her adolescence alongside her, analyn simultaneously, cannot fathom a life without being who she is. as it’s truly become integrated into her everyday life.
what do you [ /they ] hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
↳ a world in which both humans & mutants alike, can live without the worry of dispute from one another. is she naive enough to believe that it’s something that’s attainable, absolutely. knows not all mutants are as human passing as herself & face even worse scrutiny than herself & just wants a place of cohesiveness.

The Mutant Problem. Cameron White. Task 001.
what is your character’s ability?
Technology Manipulation. The power to manipulate technology. Sub-power of Science Manipulation. Variation of Object Manipulation. Opposite of Nature Manipulation.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
Level 3.
what can your character do?
Users can Create/manifest and manipulate technology, the sum of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives. However, most users only can exert control over technological constructs, such as computers, robots, hardware, and other devices that can be termed as "technology", in any way. Manifested as a special form of electrical/telekinetic manipulation, a special form of "morphing" which allows physical interaction with machines, or even a psychic ability that allows mental interface with computer data.
Most users can control the flow of intricate machinery, and assemble or disengage their programming at will and operate most technology at distance. A variation of Electricity Manipulation, they control specific electrons and instructs them which items to engage or disengage and may be able to use the electric impulses to gently control smaller metal parts.
what can’t they do?
Cameron is unable to use her powers to create techno-portals, assimilate or take on any physiological form of technology, or any other physical manifestation of technology. She’s only able to work off that which is already present and functioning. Broken technology, or anything too old is also unable to be manipulated by her powers. She needs to restore it to working order in order to be able to manipulate it.
what are their weaknesses?
Cameron must be in close proximity to whatever item she’s working with in order to effect it. She is rendered useless outside of a modern, urban setting where technology is common place, and plentiful. She can also be weakened by anyone with the ability to “crash” (another type of mutation) technological powers.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
It was a fight with her Uncle, as it always seemed to be. She doesn’t remember the content of the fight, probably something to do with her skipping school or her grades slipping. But, she ended up frying his laptop that was sitting on his desk on accident. Just a burst of anger, and the thing was popping and going black before she knew what she was doing.
if given the choice, would you they remain a mutant? why or why not?
Cameron would stay a mutant. Life was hard enough before she became one that she never saw that alone as a hinderance or help to her life. Not until Kappa, but even then, it’s always been who she is. Without her powers, she never would have escaped. She never would have met Tris or Danny or Charlie. She doesn’t know who she’d be without them. Despite all the suffering she’s been though, she’s proud of being a mutant, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
She wants to exist without having to worry about being kidnapped again. The disbanding of AMMO is at the top of her list of things to witness. She wants to see anyone who’s been captured by AMMO or fringe groups like it released, and treated right after the fact. It’s the least they all deserve. She also wants to see people try and understand power rather than fear it. She knows there are fringe groups who believe in some strange supremacy, but Cameron wants nothing more than equity.

what is your character’s ability? unicorn physiology.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level? level three.
what can your character do? most basically, kinevart can transform into a unicorn, and that is the form in which she spent most of her life. in unicorn form she appears as a large white horse with a long, spiralling horn from her forehead, with lavender coloured eyes and silvery mane and hooves, and silver blood. in human form, she appears mostly human apart from her blood, which always remains silver. consequently, her skintone always appears a little odd, somewhere between ethereal and sickly, and if she blushes her cheeks go silvery grey rather than rosy. the blood vessels in her eyes are silver rather than pink/red, though that’s hard to see unless you’re right up close, her tongue and gums are white, and the veins visible in her wrist show silver too. at a glance she seems strange, and on closer inspection it’s very obvious she’s a mutant for these reasons. ( more below . . . )
she can heal sickness by several methods. the touch of her horn, or application/consumption of her blood are most common, but in human form she is able to heal through touch. Generally her human healing is less potent: in order of strength and speed of healing, it’ll be blood > horn > human touch.
can render poisoned liquids/foods potable. this also applies to rotten food or anything that would otherwise make people sick. she can only do this in unicorn form, by stirring the liquid with her horn or otherwise inserting her horn into the substance.
purification. kinevart can remove all evil or negativity from an object or person, eg corruption negation. related, she has a pure heart and thus cannot be corrupted, and innate lie detection.
guardianship. kinevart was the guardian of a forest in her home country in armenia, though the forest has now been destroyed. this leaves a hole in her heart that cannot be filled, as well as an instinctive and desperate need to nurture (her daughter is her main outlet for this nurturing desire, but she also finds great fulfilment in healing clients in her shop).
indomitable will. immune to all forms of temptation/mind control, will never surrender in the face of pain. this ability has wavered since her forest’s destruction and it is now not an innate power, but something she has to focus on to use.
danger detection. spidey sense, mostly applies to herself and her forest (she could feel when every tree was uprooted, and indeed felt something die within her when the last tree fell), but this also extends to her daughter. they have an invisible bond that allows them to know that the other is safe. again this power is muted slightly since the forest’s destruction and so is slightly less intuitive.
what can’t they do? kinevart can’t heal herself; her healing powers only work on others.
more or less covered in the above section, but her abilities have been muted since the loss of her forest. her daughter’s powers are lesser still, and kinevart suspects that if lucy chooses to have children, they may even just be human. i guess you could say lucy is... the last unicorn! (alexa play the opening titles from the last unicorn)
what are their weaknesses? a lot of kinevart’s strength came from their forest. now it is destroyed, she is weaker. previous sarkis’ enjoyed long life, but kinevart will only have a mortal lifespan. there is also now a sense of loss and longing that can never be repaired.
while she can purify evil/negativity, the inherent purity of her mutation can conversely have a corrupting effect: those that have a great deal of greed in their hearts will seek to destroy her unless she can purify their evils first.
due to the better part of her lifetime spent in unicorn form, and then general biological upset from her time at barnum, kinevart retains horselike digestion even in human form. she requires a very high fibre diet, is very prone to tummy aches if she eats meat, and has to snack constantly. her top treats are very dark chocolate, bananas, and almonds, but she’s also keen on grapes.
how did you they first come to the realization that you they were a mutant? she always knew. kinevart was born in human form to a woman in human form but slipping into unicorn form came naturally. she felt as much a foal as a child growing up.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not? yes. kinevart is more comfortable in her mutant form than when she appears human, and the fact that she has to stay human most of the time for her own safety really causes her stress. she can imagine nothing more dehumanising than being human, funnily enough.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term? sooooooo, tbh? kinevart doesn’t hugely care about mutant rights/other mutants. she just wants to be back in her forest and left alone with her daughter. since that is impossible, she has a bit of a vengeful streak and is rather anti-human unless she can detect great goodness in them. politically, the idea of humans discussing mutant rights makes her sick, and she’s probably one bad day away from becoming an eco-t3rror1st. censoring that word because i don’t want to get targeted ads from mi6 teehee

what is your character’s ability?
Dream Walking. Kaya has the ability to enter the dreams of another and influence that dream, as well as allowing them influence over it too.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
Level 1. It’s a pretty benign mutation.
what can your character do?
When he is awake, Kaya can enter people’s dreams. It’s generally quite disorienting for the dreamer, as it forces people into a lucid dreaming state, but if they experience it repeatedly they can acclimatise. Once there, Kaya can control the dream: change the clothes or the appearance of the dreamer, change the whole landscape, make things appear. Essentially he’s omnipowerful, but only in the dream. Once the dreamer awakes, it all melts away.
There’s no distance limit to this power, but he does need to know the person before he can reach them. The ‘knowing’ can be something as simple as a photo or a video of the person but it might take him some time to ‘locate’ them. The better he knows someone, the easier it is for him to find them. He has liaised with the police over a few missing person cases, but as the missing person often doesn’t know where they’ve been taken, there’s only so helpful he can be.
what can’t they do?
He can’t enter the mind of anyone that’s awake, and he can’t use his mutation while he’s asleep. He can’t do anything ‘real’ i.e. anything that changes or happens or bleeds in the dream ceases to exist upon waking. The only exception is if he says something hurtful; obviously the person’s feelings will still be hurt on waking.
Incidentally, Kaya isn’t sure if this is part of his mutation or simply a personal quirk, but he’s never been able to remember a single one of his own dreams; not one fragment, no nightmares, nothing.
what are their weaknesses?
For psychically powerful people, it’s possible for them to kick him out of their dreams if they don’t want him there. Drugs/alcohol make it pretty much impossible for him to access someone’s dreams, too; this is how he was aware of just how bad Delia’s drinking was towards the end of their marriage.
He is also very vulnerable when he uses his mutation. Externally he goes into a trancelike state, totally unaware of the world around him, though it’s possible to shake him out of it.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
At a sleepover when he was 9. He couldn’t sleep, and his friend was whimpering like he was having a nightmare. Kaya watched him curiously, and concentrated so hard he slipped into the dream. It was a childish nightmare with monsters, but Kaya willed swords into existence for them and they fought them off. The next day, the friend didn’t realise Kaya’s presence had been real; he told him with great excitement over breakfast about the great battle of his dreams, and Kaya realised what he’d done.
if given the choice, would you they remain a mutant? why or why not?
Yes. It gives him a more intimate way to stay in touch with people than phone calls or texts. He is aware that sometimes, it reaches a point of being bad for him; he relies a lot on fantasy and make believe. There’s something addictive about the all-encompassing unreality of dreams, but he’s got it under control for now.
Because his mutation isn’t visible, he’s never really received any trouble for it. So all in all, he has no reason to resent it, though he is sympathetic towards the struggles of people with more visible differences that have to face distrust or persecution.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
He’d like to see more universal acceptance, of course. Legislation to make mutants a protected class in line with queer people, disabled people, poc, etc. However, he is not at all outspoken about mutant rights, and is slow to admit he’s a mutant himself; the need to keep himself safe so he can be there for his kids ensures he keeps his nose very clean.

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what is your character’s ability?
shark physiology.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level two.
what can your character do?
breath underwater, swim at high speeds, adapt to low-light environments, bite through almost any material, and possess a strength beyond both human and shark capacities.
what can’t they do?
hide what he is! he is permanently stuck partway between man and shark. and control bloodlust when it activates…
what are their weaknesses?
dry environments. extreme heat or cold. electricity.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
as someone who was born looking different, fins has always known.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
while curious about human lifestyles, fins has lived his whole life as a mutant and is comfortable like that. he wouldn’t want to change himself, even if it would be easier to get by. he can be ashamed AND want to remain how he is. he’s got layers!
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
his own experience with society is... pretty limited. that said, he would love to be able to walk down the street without causing a panic!

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what is your character’s ability?
bat physiology.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level two.
what can your character do?
he has features and abilities related to mammals in the order chiroptera. this allows him to do things like use echolocation, and with wing manifestation, fly.
what can’t they do?
make himself appear any more human, or more batlike, than he naturally is.
what are their weaknesses?
more susceptible to contracting disease, albeit also better at fighting it off. ( net zero weakness? ) not any less vulnerable to anything that could kill the average person.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
as daniel was born like this, he and his family have always been aware of his status as a mutant.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
pre-kappa, the answer might have been yes. it may have been something that caused struggle in his life, but through perseverance he was almost to the point of being proud of it. now? he would give anything to be normal. anything.
what do you they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
he does hope to see the fall of any and all mutant research programs that the government are running, but recognizes this is unlikely and isn’t to the point where he would seek out activism, himself. in both the long and short term, this is what he would like to see, though.

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what is your character’s ability?
corruption manipulation.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level four.
what can your character do?
control and manipulate the forces of corruption, particularly of the moral variety. this allows him to take control of the minds and hearts of others ( with certain limitations ), destroy bonds, adaptively regenerate from damage, augment/corrupt other’s abilities, and more.
what can’t they do?
fully control/turn off many aspects of his ability. social magnetism is always on to some degree, whether he wants it or not. he can’t control others for long periods of time, or from great distances. ( people in particular are much more difficult than less-complex beings. ) phase-morphing is hit-or-miss and often results in embarrassing situations. fallen physiology can’t always be controlled and usually ends up with the loss of ( if any ) reasonable conscience.
what are their weaknesses?
the use of his powers comes at a heavy cost—corruption sickness. too little use will cause weakness, too much causes an overload which will physically corrupt him until he can expel the excess corruptive energy. he can’t control people or objects for long periods of time or at long range. he is extremely susceptible to any abilities having to do with purification, and his offensive powers are useless against those with corruption immunity.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
differences were always apparent in his appearance, so he was aware of his status since birth. however, the full extent of ezra’s abilities set in around the usual time—adolescence. the first developed application was darkside view, or the power to see the corruption in others.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
absolutely. at this point in time, ezra has no love for humankind and fully sees mutants as their future overlords. he would rather die quickly and painlessly than to be rendered one of them.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
ezra hopes to see the world burn from the inside out, knowing that from those ashes there will be only one victor—mutantkind. short-term, he hopes to make life as miserable as possible for the humans in ( and out of ) power. long-term? eradication seems more appropriate.

what is your [ /character’s ] ability?
↳ doppelgänger physiology + psychological mastery
what is your [ /character’s ] government-assigned classification level?
↳ level three
what can you [ /your character ] do?
↳ innately & through practice, rion is a master of psychology, the scientific study of mind and behavior in humans & non-humans. this enables them to treat mental and emotional problems, figure out how others function and work, & how they would react in specific situations. + in this particular case, he’s biologically a look-alike ( or a double ), of his twin. while obviously related, he’s more of the mythological version of a doppelgänger. an actual evil twin.
what can’t you [ /they ] do?
↳ applications such as omni-genetic archiving, shapeshifting/omnifarious, morphamerge, species-shifting, summoning & dna replication, are all out of their reach. while capable of choosing which applications over rule which, rion’s natural charisma & charm, are always active. there isn’t a way to flip the switch off, which leads to others constantly attempting to befriend them & become close. users of indomitable will & personal mastery of a higher level, are unaffected by their psychological mastery.
what are your [ /their ] weaknesses?
↳ innately having mastery of psychology, he had to learn to tune the details of this ability. such as their truth & lie detection, which led to rion having horrible anxiety & paranoia at one point. as he grew older & grasped these applications, the issues mellowed out mildly, although he still struggles with it occasionally. ESPECIALLY when it regards new places & people. mutation wise, there isn’t anything that truly makes them a harmful threat. even with the ability to replicate + mimic other’s powers, it’s never truly as power as the original. meaning, in certain scenarios, rion could very well be over-powered. which is where their martial arts, sparring & weapons training come into play.
how did you [ /they ] first come to the realization that you [ /they ] were a mutant?
↳ around adolescence officially. with the dual developments of their fear inducement & lie detection, it was truly confirmed that he was a mutant.
if given the choice, would you [ /they ] remain a mutant? why or why not?
↳ without a doubt, yes. having had to live in the shadow of their sister’s apparent perfection, his powers set him apart from her. while she also has doppelgänger physiology, it’s much more tamed than rion’s.
what do you [ /they ] hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
↳ in all honesty, they don’t care. far as their concerned, the world’s fucked regardless of anything mutants or humans do. they’re the embodiment of ‘ here for a good time, not a long time ’ & is just out to do what he does best. party, bake & kill.

the mutant problem !
what is your ability?
werecat physiology + ritual magic
what is your government-assigned classification level?
level three
what can you do?
WERECAT ABILITIES:
retractable claws: self-explanatory. always present, unlike, say, fur. but, as mentioned, able to retract them.
transformation: able to transform into a cat-like being. she can do this by her own volition, save for each harvest moon. after completing the ritual, she’ll be in her werecat form for the next 24hrs with no way to transform back.
camouflage: due to her catlike nature, she is able to go undetected much easier than any human or mutant.
hyper climbing: able to climb literally anything with ease. completely slated rock? not a challenge!
supernatural condition: best to just refer to the page for all the supernatural condition stuffz!
predator instinct: when in werecat form, she’s always looking for prey.
regenerative healing factor: …heals easily? what else!
RITUAL MAGIC:
semi-immortality: she’ll live forever… conditionally. see below.
ritual empowerment: this is what grants her her semi-immortality. as long as she metabolizes a soul each harvest and wolf moon, she will live on. the second she doesn’t ? her real age catches up to her :\
metabolization: every harvest + wolf moon, she has to metabolize the soul of any given person, doesn’t matter who ! they die, then resurrect. maybe she’ll send them to santi if they’re too smart and autonomous, maybe she’ll keep them if they’ll do her bidding.
purification: can purify evil to become good. a bit ironic ( though, to be fair, 85% of the atrocities she commits are in the name of self-preservation which is why her vibes are good enough that she can work with kinevart hafosdil ).
the rest of the subpowers are pretty much what you picture when you picture the words ‘ritual magic’ ? like, she’s able to get what she wants out of ritual sacrifice and ‘spells’ that, after all of the ingredient have been collected, are activated by pheromones ( not something supernatural ).
what can’t you do?
she can’t choose what kind of undead being her little guys will come back as… and she wishes she could ! if they could just all be the ‘follower zombies’…
she has yet to find a way to become fully immortal. 200 years and still searching for the fountain of youth…
what are your weaknesses?
her magic won’t work – or, if nothing else, won’t be as strong – if she doesn’t have her ‘ingredients.’
if she doesn’t metabolize a soul every harvest and wolf moon, she’ll become mortal and her age ( see: 242 ) will catch up with her.
she can’t control how long she’s in her werecat form for on the nights of a harvest moon.
how did you first come to the realization that you were a mutant?
she has never identified with the word ‘mutant,’ having used the word ‘supernatural’ for over 200 years before learning about her status after tests performed by james ‘starcaller’ baird.
however, while her ritual magic had been with her for decades in her moon-obsessed community, the activation of the werecat gene did not come until… much later in life. an attack on the community for their suspicious beliefs ( …1800s deep south usa… ) led to her and another making an offering to the harvest moon in exchange for the community’s safety. a complete fluke that the secondary mutation activated then, but it did ! and they were slaughtered !
if given the choice, would you remain a mutant? why or why not?
oh, definitely. the sense of power age and… literal power gives her ? it’s addictive. not to mention, death terrifies her.
what do you hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
she’s not much of a mutant activist… like, she really couldn’t care less ! it is what it is. it’ll be what it’ll be. she’s just chilling, leading moonscar for two centuries.
#forwardtask#so zombie island of me!!! <3#i have the mind of a master.. mastermind.. what's that? i don't know. but im just so creative like that!!

THE HUMAN CONDITION
when did you first become aware of mutantkind?
it was sort of just this... gradual process, but ford’s known since they were very young. you know, you hear about weird happenstances... see those happenstances... eventually become old enough that you can recognize what, exactly, politicians mean when they’re talking about their stance on mutantkind.
how did that realization affect you?
even if they’d been an adult when they found out, it wouldn’t have fazed or surprised him. there are stranger things in the world ( even if he makes half of them up ) and, as an imaginative horror/gothic novelist who liked comics as a kid ? if nothing else, they would’ve found it super cool !
how do you feel about recent strides in mutant acceptance? are you supportive? why or why not?
they’re in support, sure, but it’s not the basis of their life in the slightest. have some mutants inspired them in all of their careers ( but... especially as a ghostwriter and an oddities shopkeeper ) ? totally ! but inspiration’s about as far as it’s gone. outside of that, mutants just... exist.
what do you hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
again, they don’t think much about it ! gifted in that way ! but they’ll sign some pro-mutant petitions, they’ll donate a penny or two to pro-mutant causes, they’ll go to pro-mutant rallies for half an hour. a great performative activist for them. but yes, they do hope to see a day that they’re accepted -- again, it just isn’t on their mind much !
if given the choice, would you remain a human? why or why not?
tough choice. he’d probably choose to be a mutant with an invisible power that’s either low-level or super high-level, no in between. but it’s not something he dwells on ! at all !
what power do you think they would have, if born a mutant?
y’all KNOW i love finding some fun mutations, so i’ll have to come back to this with a more thoughtful answer later, but. just for funzies. ghost physiology since they were a ghostwriter.
#forwardtask#ford: *has two mutant siblings* // also ford: eh signing this petition is enough.#(granted idt he knows but.... nonetheless....)

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what is your character’s ability?
werewolf physiology.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level three.
what can your character do?
along with enhanced senses, strength, etc, raul can take the form of a part-wolf, part-human monster.
what can’t they do?
currently, he can’t transform at will or control himself when a transformation does happen without consuming copious amounts of animal blood. and a small amount of human blood.
what are their weaknesses?
extremely acute senses leave him vulnerable to sound-based attacks. he is highly allergic to silver, which will physically burn his flesh. while hardier than the average human, he isn’t immortal and will die to grievous injuries.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
his family boasts a long line of wolf-like mutants, and most in the family are mutated in some way. raul discovered he was among them when puberty hit, when his first real transformation took place.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
at present, no. he considers his mutation to be more of a curse.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
he hopes that mutantkind can move forward from the oppression they face and work toward a future where everyone enjoys tolerance and equal opportunities.

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what is your character’s ability?
necromutant physiology.
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level three.
what can your character do?
terrence is functionally immortal, as until their body is completely surprised, they can’t die again. as well, they’ve found they can physically alter their undead dna in order to physically augment themselves. given that he is clinically dead, he’s immune to most forms of external control.
what can’t they do?
at present, he can only minorly mutate himself—and he can’t use it to slow down his rate of decay... or change what can.
what are their weaknesses?
while dead, terrence is still actively going through the process of decay. unless he consumes flesh ( preferably already dead... ) he can’t maintain himself and will eventually crumble into dust. he is also weak to all manner of holy or blessed defenses. direct sunlight is actively harmful to him if he doesn’t take precautions and layer up.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
at the start of puberty, they developed the ability to heal themselves of minor injuries and discovered that they were a mutant... but it wasn’t until after a stage accident that he found out the full extent of his powers.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
they’re completely indifferent to either fate.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
at present, they have no real opinions on the strife between them. he doesn’t have the emotional capacity to care anymore and hardly notices anti-mutant sentiments in his own life.

the mutant problem !
what is your ability?
time travel + electronic communication
what is your government-assigned classification level?
level one. poor guy is time’s bitch and the only other thing he can do is communicate thru tech :(
what can you do?
jump forwards and backwards in time, though he’s never had much control over it and, whenever he does hop, it tends to be to somewhere in perilous conditions. he can communicate through radio and television broadcasts by intercepting the airwaves. he used to rely on morse code for the former and be completely unaware of the latter, but he can now project this thoughts through the radio and what he wants to see on the television. he can do this with other electronics, too, but those two are his most used.
what can’t you do?
he can’t seem to control where he hops in the timeline. while that’s something he could probably get a grip on, he’s not sure he wants to try up until he knows when the fallout that he spent four years in will occur.
what are your weaknesses?
again, can’t really control where he hops, and it usually winds up being somewhere in poor condition.
how did you first come to the realization that you were a mutant?
well, first, he was suddenly in a different time -- so that was one marker of time travel ! as for tech, it was a slower discovery that was launched with ed managing to tell him that he had activated his radio and communicated to him through morse code. the morse code eventually transformed into his general thoughts, and, so long as he had something technological with him, it would transfer whatever someone said to him right to his mind. he knew by the time he was 18 that he could intercept airwaves from long distances so... if nothing else, by 18, he knew he was a mutant. might’ve been a bit of a himbo if he didn’t put two-and-two together before...
if given the choice, would you remain a mutant? why or why not?
toughie ! had he not seen the fallout, it would be a tentative no. he likes the tech aspect, but bouncing back and forth at random intervals ? nah :\ but, because he has seen it, he wants to be alive to change the fate ! and, to do that, he might need his ability ! so... very, very, very, very tentative yes.
what do you hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
he has bigger things to worry about than mutant acceptance. he trusts it’ll come, anyway -- acceptance always does, it just takes time.

TASK 001: THE MUTANT PROBLEM
what are your character’s abilities?
omen embodiment and death sense
what is your character’s government-assigned classification level?
level one.
what can your character do?
david, as the embodiment of a death omen, can take on a different appearance. or rather, a normal appearance. his true shape is considerably more disturbing than the human skin he wears—a mixture of living and dead tissues, cloaked in ragged, ever-molting feathers, and topped off with a disfigured raven’s visage. the deeper his trances, the more his true shape is revealed. at its highest point, he’s made of pure black marble. outside of taking a fully human shape, his only other ability is an all reaching death-sense. he has seen every horrible calamity that has ever happened, ever will happen, or is happening right now. fun!
what can’t they do?
control the visions. he can zero in on someone specific, but no matter how much he fights it, the rest will break in and rattle him. since the human brain isn’t meant to hold that much raw information in it, he is in absolutely terrible shape. he has wings, but he can’t fly.
what are their weaknesses?
most normal human weaknesses, save from being slashed to death. i’d also say knowing of every death ever is a bit of a weakness, too.
how did they first come to the realization that they were a mutant?
from the moment the word was introduced with a real meaning, which is when he had brutally torn out his own eyes. usually, they don’t grow back. and then the being aware of the deaths of everyone around me made sense, too.
if given the choice, would they remain a mutant? why or why not?
no. absolutely not. if a cure is found, he wants to take it.
what do they hope to see change in the future, with respect to the current strife over mutant acceptance? short-term? long-term?
he honestly wants everyone to give up on living like he has, because maybe it will be less painful if everyone gets it all over with. sadly, not how it works.
