Violet is teeny and frail the way that so many ya female protaginists are. But the difference is that the story recognizes her weaknesses and addresses them. Everyone can see she is breakable but what makes her scary is that she's fully willing to break herself to get what she wants. She isn't just anger in a cute tiny package she is rage shoved into a glass bottle with a crack running up the side. She doesn't just fight through pain, she functions in pain constantly. She's brutal and resilient and so willing to throw herself on a knife just to give others a better chance at survival.

41. what is the weirdest story idea you’ve ever had.

I’m going to go story in general, because the fic ideas I’m willing to talk about on here are all pretty tame. I have this short story idea floating around in my head about this woman who has to physically take her face off with a scalpel and put on a different face depending on who she’s talking to. It’s a fairly obvious metaphor, but also decently weird, I’d say!!

it's so funny to see the craze for fourth wing die out in real time. book two finally came out in paperback and my boss ordered 30 copies of the sprayed edge edition for the shop and no one is buying them. we actually haven't sold a single book from the series in months. i haven't had to talk about the series with any customers in so long because of it. it's glorious

YAPPING AGAIN!

I AM CURRENTLY READING FOURTH WING AND IT IS GREAT.

I love everything about it. I love the dragons. I love the world building. I love the main character because she isn’t a mary sue but she isn’t like weirdly masculine(?) either. She doesn’t get hyper sexualized and she is actually badass without being insane. I LOVE THE LOVE INTEREST!!!

Xaden is like my ideal man guys omfg I would wife this man in a heartbeat GIVE ME THE BAD BOY WITH A TROUBLED PAST! He isn’t like insanely cruel or abusive and he cares about her so much while also being cool and mysterious and he would kill for her so quickly but also knows she can take care of herself it’s just UGH!

I get so excited while reading I cannot contain myself. I’m usually a quiet reader but this book has me giggling and stimming and falling apart like a child.

Amazing, I’m on chapter 30 and it’s fantastic(smut warning tho)

I can’t wait to read the second one afterwards, I am ecstatic. I love this kind of fantasy and romance where it’s nicely balanced and well written. Just perfect, one of my top books for sure.
