Freddyue headcanons on how they met
They met similarly to the animated shorts but the reason Freddy ended up meeting her was because he got into a pretty nasty fight with a bunch of miramon that overwhelmed him and he was later found unconscious by civilians before the Shadow Decree could locate and retrieve him. Civilians at first weren't sure if they should get him to a veterinarian or a doctor. Eventually they decided to get him to an hospital but because of being an esper and his canid/human anatomy the hospital requested Heng Yue to come help.
Freddy was unconscious until a few minutes later that she arrived and when he woke up he immediately became a problem. He was obviously upset, like someone who got woken up before they wanted to but he didn't actually snap at anyone, he was a problem because he just straight up stood up and tried to leave despite his injuries. Heng Yue was the only esper near and she was forced to MAKE him stay put. Freddy inmediately liked her superficially but what got him hooked was that she somehow managed to make him summit.
Heng Yue scolded him afterwards but it was obvious that he wasn't paying attention at all at to what she was saying but he was only paying attention to her.
He didn't waste time, he inmediately started teasing her a bit, making jokes, trying to play smooth, all of this was met with Heng Yue rolling her eyes and coldly stating that she "isnt interested, and will never be"
Freddy refuses to accept defeat, he often chases after her. He sends her gifts, he tries to get her number and fails miserably, he gets hurt on purpose just so she has to accept seeing him. Freddy does know Heg Yue is from the Union, so when he sends her stuff he does it anonymously, however Heng Yue knows its from him
On the other hand Heng Yue doesnt know Freddy is from the Shadow Decree, she doesnt get very involved with esper matters unless is absolutely necessary and she focuses more on her career as doctor. She thinks Freddy is insufferable but she also finds him amusing at times. She often refers to him as "the dog".
Freddy did extensive research on her, originally he just wanted to know more of her so he could approach her more but he just got more obsessed. However what drove him over the edge was that one time he managed to get an appointment with her and when he was teasing her like he usually does he actually got her to smile a little.
The first time Freddy managed to make her smile his tail started wagging so hard that she noticed it and she giggled at the sight, she apologized and admitted that it was somewhat cute.
Heng Yue does find him physically attractive(at first) thats why she calls him a dog, because thats what he looks like to her. As time passes she start seeing more human traits on him and she starts seeing him differently.
Heng Yue as a doctor and an educated woman had to admit that Freddy intrigued her, animal espers are rare, theres a few in the Union but she has never been able to study them more closely. So after a while of Freddy pestering her she decides he might as well be useful something.
Freddy normally wouldn't accept this from anyone but all he wants is approval and attention from her so he accepts to let her study him. However he's very careful to not let her know he's from the SD because he doesn't wanna ruin all the progress he's made with her.
Heng Yue already knew Freddy was a ball of energy but when she tried to do a checkup on him it really showed as he was incapable of not moving, he was tapping his feet, scratching himself, tapping his claws and he was very talkative.
Heng Yue writes down everything she considers might be important, mostly things about his anatomy. She likes a lot how Freddy's fur bristles when she inspects him.
She already has a bit of experience deducing emotions on animal espers thanks to Drew's infamous ear language so she often checks on Freddy's ears to see how he's doing because he refuses to admit that he might be in pain or if he's uncomfortable. But she has something in her favour and thats that Freddy has a tail, a big bushy tail that gives her all the information she needs.
She likes playing with his tail sometimes and says she's just checking on it.
Freddy sometimes regrets getting this close to her because he doesn't like the idea of being a guinea pig but when he sees her so fascinated by him and how she even points out positive traits about him all his regrets fade, of course he still doesn't like this treatment but he likes it when its her that treats him like this. Still he does tell her that his tail is not a toy.
In between checkups they chat, they talk about fashion, they complain about their day, about a co-worker, they talk about how atrocious x person dressed the other day, they share beauty tips with each other etc. Sometimes Freddy says something that concerns her, she has always been able to tell Freddy isnt someone used to having his wounds treated by anyone and that he isn't exactly very sane.
After sometime Heng Yue starts respecting him more, validating him. Freddy is over the moon when one day Heng Yue proposes they should go get something to eat together after the checkup.
Heng Yue actually keeps his gifts now.

Okay okay okay okay Ive got this. First and for most we gunna ignore any music restrictions the gang get because of being merchandise and property. Can't have our mascot promoting a song we don't approve of no no! So this is all music they listen to in private.
Freddy: I think he listens to swing and pop. Stuff that is groovy! It's partially what his programming asks if him but also he adors a song you can dance too. A second type of music he listens to on less energized days are songs that work more like poems. His favorites being ones of complex alliteration, comparative lines, changes in mood from word choices. He loves sitting down and writing the lyrics down to analyze them. He's secretly used one or two lines in his own Faz-Bear approved songs.
Roxy: Indie and Alternative, you can't tell me this cool gal doesnt listen to the niches bands. She especially loves bands that she can play along side too, rocking out to her song of choice in her green room during the dead of night. She also can't stop herself from humming and ghost playing the songs in her down time. She's also fiercely protective of her music tastes, usually when asked she'll say she likes Rock, she just doesn't want anyone to say anything about the songs she loves, very sensitive to perceived criticism. It takes her forever to show her music to anyone.
Monty: anything and everything. So long as it's got a high energy beat. He usually gravitates towards Rock and Heavy Metal. Where he can really rock it on the bass (op note: I see Monty as a drummer more so than a bassist but I'm trying to keep in canon thinking), he absolutely loves when a song gets a proper bass solo, where he imagines himself shining through. Management does know he listens to this genre and allow him to play specific songs to keep up his bad boy persona. A genre he equally listens to is Country, he loves the twang of singers voices and the strums of aucustic guitars. He even asked for his own once (unfortunately denied), he loves listening to the more emotional country songs. This one management doesn't know.
Chica: She listens to *everything* she doesn't tie herself down to one type of music. She's listening to pop, to rock, to heavy metal, to folk, to rhythm and blues, to soul, to hip-hop, everything. She expresses her love of the music with dance, learning so many styles to properly get a feel for what she's listening too. From ballroom to breakdown she just loves music. She's tried to get the others to dance with her with varying degrees of success. To her music is so much more than something to listen to. It's emotions in the form of sound. An expression fo culture.
Sun: Hyper pop and breakcore (op note: mood) he prefers this music right into his audio receptors where the music can drown out all thoughts. He enjoys just laying out while the music ruines all processing power. When he can't sit and vegg out he instead dances in a spuratic way, mans has no pattern nor style, it's just feeling, just getting the energy OUT. He's also the type to put on music in his audio receptors while he works because listening to the (while cheerful) CONSTANT song of the theme song. It gets annoying when it isn't as energetic as he is.
Moon: Folk, Blues, Instrumental and on the occasion Screamo. He's the same as Sun and doesn't like it out loud, preferring it in his head. He loves slow energy songs you could sleep too, especially the kind with lyrics like a story. He loves to picture worlds and imagine them to those songs. The slowly music is just enough to keep him calm and happy, then on the flip side is the one or two (a lot more) Screamo songs that come on that blow up his ears. That's when he gets his energy out in a crazied energy. It's especially fun when he's on security, listening to soft blues and rnb when he detects someone. A big grin as he swaps it to a LOUD song and he gets to have a fun chase.
DJMM: Electric, Dubstep, Swing, and Rap. Generally he prefers to make his own music so when he does it's usually the first genres, how ever he loves listening to Rap, if he could sing he'd be just as fast or rhythmic as them. The best he's gotten at it is changing his eyes to the words and doing interactive sign rapping. He secretly knows everyone's favorite songs and preferences, how? Who knows.
What music genres do you think the Security Breach animatronics listen to? I like to think they all have a genre they adore. This extends to Sun, Moon, and DJMM. I want playlists of these robot fucks

more funtime found family au stuff but this time focusing on funtime freddy and michael's relationship. it's incredibly rambly and turns into off-kilter dialogue but i gotta get this off my chest.
tw mentioned child abuse/death
• doesn't actually like michael (at first) even tho i draw them hanging around each other a lot
• bon bon is the only reason he does loaf around him. (bon bon and bonnet being the only ones who like Michael in the beginning.) They're attached to each other so it's inevitable that they would hang around mikey.
• ft freddy plays really mean spirited jokes on michael bc he's not allowed to harm him. he has to get real creative. (ft freddy has a lot of anger inside of him. people write him off as being dumb and goofy but really that's just a mask that he put up so he didn't scare people away. of course the funtimes know how he is, knows who he is right to his core bc they're all connected on a deeper/technological level.)
• (slaps funtime freddy. this bear can fit so much trauma and abandonment issues in him!)
• can be incredibly vindictive when he wants to be and takes out a lot of his agression on Michael. michael shares the afton name (bc he sure as hell doesn't look like william in my au lol) and that alone is enough for ft freddy to bully him.
• (the funtimes blame william for abandoning them so ft freddy takes it especially personal when his ankle biter comes around to "liberate" them. and on some deeper level freddy is just terrified that michael will abandon them all, just like willy did. he never voices this of course. opting to show his apprehension and fear in a more destructive way, pushing Michael further away.)
• canon ft freddy: sinister but still goofy and knows how to have a good time
my ft freddy: goofy and repressed anger issues, doesn't know how to enjoy himself without causing someone some kinda pain.
• michael gets fed up with being terrorized eventually and confronts him, and ft freddy drops the silly act for a bit just ready to blow up at him. (he can't even place why he's still so angry at michael when really he's been nothing but hospitable and accomodating to their wants and needs but fuck he's just so wound up he doesn't know what to do) michael compares him to william during the argument (cruel and vindictive just like william wanted) and ft freddy nearly rings his neck, absolutely seething but bon bon doesnt let that happen of course. (idk if this is confirmed canon but bon bon was designed to placate freddy. he raises his voice even slightly and bon bon's petting his face, stopping him from getting even more agressive)
• ft freddy shuts down after the confrontation ends (emotionally, anyway) and the blow out itself is completely anti climatic, nobody getting hurt. he ends up isolating himself from the others with bon bon hovering around like a concerned mother hen. Baby and the others give him space but michael (after he cools down anyways) won't leave him alone.
• See the thing is: Michael understands. Michael understands more than anyone what it's like to feel so deeply, what it's like to hate and hate and to keep hating until that rage is your whole life. It's suffocating. and he had to deal with that all on his own, choking on his own grief and rage without anyone to guide him. (his brother is dead bc of him and he carries that with him everywhere he goes, in everything he does.)
• They're living in the countryside of France at this point in time, far off from any wandering eyes, a thick forest surrounding their home. Freddy has a few hiding spots that he scouted out within the first few days of staying there. And that's where Michael finds him, hiding out in a small alcove by the a creek, throwing rocks at the trees (and sometimes wildlife).
• freddy doesn't aknowledge him, ignoring him like a child would and bon bon frets nervously between them, not wanting another fight to break out. Michael tells them that he's not here to fight anymore, he just wants to talk. you like to talk, don't you? and freddy doesn't say anything, running his fingers through the dirt, absentmindedly.
• michael asks bon bon to leave so that they can have a private convo and bon bon freaks out like absolutely not, he might hurt you and michael asks freddy directly like "are you going to hurt me?" freddy still isn't talkative, and he's rigid when he shakes his head no after a bit of silence. Bon Bon asks if he's alright with him leaving and freddy just shrugs, still staring at nothing in the distance. bon bon hesitates for a few moments before finally leaving, telling Michael to call out to him if he's in danger but michael rushes him along.
• it's just them now, nothing but the sounds of nature around them. michael asks how he's feeling and freddy shrugs again. Michael strikes up a one sided conversation, stepping closer and closer to him over time not really getting any kinda response out of him but eventually, during his rambling, freddy finally looks at him and says "Y-You just don't get-get it." and then goes back to the silent treatment.
• Michael's quiet, having made his way up to standing right next to freddy (he's only a tiny bit taller than him when he's just sitting like that). he nods his head, considering something for a while until finally he goes "Did I ever tell you about what it was like? Ya know. Being William Afton's golden child?" freddy doesn't say anything but he pauses from drawing circles in the dirt, tilts his head just a fraction to let mikey know he's listening.
• michael stares at the creek. "He wasn't the most outwardly loving father. Wasn't really the nicest one, either. But, I wanted his approval so bad, I'd do anything for it." Freddy slowly turns his head to watch him carefully. that's got his attention. "I did a bunch of stupid shit back then, all cause I wanted to be noticed by him. But all that attention went to my little-" and michael draws in a sudden breath, pained. stays silent for a moment, working up the courage to speak. "I did something awful to my brother. All for my father. And it's an awful thing to say but his death didn't matter. Pops didnt bat an eye and Mom was too far gone by that point after Elizabeth...." he looks back in the direction of the cottage. "Well.... you know what happened to Elizabeth." Freddy's stare is hard and unyielding. "He's gone now and I was the only one who cared enough. His fuckin' abuser cared more for his passing than his own father did."
• "He threw me into the basement. Did you know that?" Michael bounces from one foot to another, anxiety written into his very bones. he's lost in his rambling now, having never spoken these words out loud to anyone. "I killed his son and he locked me away in the dark for three years." Freddy fully turns to give Michael his undivided attention, stock still, hanging off of his every word. "I got out. Eventually. I ran away and lived on the streets for years until someone got a hold of me. Told me my old man was missing, presumed dead. Got a pretty penny from the fazbear business he co-owned with Mr. Emily. Things were going good, I guess. I was overwhelmed for the most part, didn't do anything other than bounce around from hotels every few days. In some way, I felt like he was still out there, watching me. I just kept running. And then i found out about you." He glances at freddy and looks away quickly when he finds an unblinking visage staring back. "Found out about all of you. Locked away in a storage facility for over 30 years. In the dark. All alone." an incredibly long silence stretches out between them, freddy fidgeting, hyperaware of every noise going on around them.
• "You think I don't get it. But I do. I think I understand you more than anyone could." Michael's staring back at him, raw emotion across his face, eyes soft with empathy and that's what makes Freddy turn away from him. Suddenly uncomfortable. "I don't want to fight with you. Not you. Not Ballora, or Foxy, or Eli-" He visibly winces, but regains his composure. "...I just... need you to understand that I want to help."
• Freddy's never been so quiet, and it's such an odd sight. Michael's not sure if he should say anything else or if he should leave the bear alone. the bear speaks up, finally "W-We could've kill-killed you."
• "That was always a possibility, yeah. I woulda deserved it." Freddy's not sure if he likes the way Michael talks about himself sometimes. "I needed to get you guys out of there, though. That was more important than whatever could've happened to me." Michael huffs. "Besides, if I hadn't bailed you guys out then I would've never gone to Paris. Ballora has good taste in real estate, I think." and despite everything, freddy lets out a sudden breath that could've been mistaken for a sensible chuckle. Michael smiles anyway.
• Things settle down afterwards, though there's no bite to Freddy's jokes now. They're not as close as Michael wants, Freddy still keeping his distance, keeping his walls up but it's something.
• Freddy starts watching horror movies with him late into the night and until dawn. Doesn't let Michael sleep in afterwards and he might just regret this but it makes Freddy happy. Things go back to normal in the cottage, as normal as things can be for a motley troupe like them anyways. Michael starts laughing at his jokes more.

Ok this is complete #blasphamy and creamiscle will always be my ship, but I can't stop thinking about a Freddy/Eddie/Vic threesome
Vic's the one who orchestrates it, near the beginning right after the name scene before Freddy gets to know Larry, Vic and eddie are in bed after sex, and Vic's like, “so who's the skinny kid, Mr Orange”, and Eddie’s like, “some guy, petty dealer, we’ve never worked with him before but he came with a good referral”, and Vic's like, “I just know the kid's a fag, you see those looks he was throwing your dad's friend, try and get him here”, and eddie's unsure, he and vic have had threesomes with women in the past (where they both had to pretend they were only into her and not also each other) but this just seems different to him.
But Vic keeps pushing him so Eddie invites Orange back to Eddie's place in the guise of it being a business thing, and Freddy's secretly shitting himself b/c obvs Eddie is second in command and the Cabot heir so the LAPD wants him almost as much as Joe, plus Blonde is just intimidating (even if Freddy thinks he's kinda hot, god why does he find dominate men so sexy, keep it down newandyke, don't let your fag out, just do the job, you're super cool)
And when he gets there Eddie leads him into an office and Blonde's there, and Eddie starts going over the heist but Blonde keeps touching Freddy, not overtly at first just a hand on his shoulders and then both on his waist for a couple seconds to move him over a bit, and Freddy's freaking out, why's he doing this, Eddie doesn't even seem to notice that Blonde's manhandling him right in front of him. And Vic's just getting bolder now and is standing behind Freddy and running his hands down Freddy's side then thighs then over his crotch and pressing down on it, and this is right in front of Eddie who doesn't even blink and just continues talking about the job, and then when he finishes what he's saying, Blonde whispers in Freddy's ear "I think you'd better thank Mr Cabot here, hm?" and forces Freddy to his knees.
And Freddy's thinking, oh god oh shit they've figured it out I'm undercover, they were both fucking with me and now they're gonna shoot me in the head execution style, but Eddie kinda goes "Vic ..." in a voice he often uses to tell Vic to dial it down a bit, and Vic just shrugs n pulls Freddy up by his shirt (god god jesus he shouldn't find it so hot how easy it is for this guy to manhandle him) and freddy's thinking, "what's going on, maybe my covers not blown, maybe I'm gonna live after all" and then Vic pushes him towards Eddie slightly and suddenly Eddie's lips are on his and they're making out and he hadn’t thought about Eddie that way (tho he'd had a few good wanks over that mr white guy) but it's been ages since he's been kissed or even touched and Eddie's a good kisser, he finds himself opening his mouth slightly and deepening the kiss, and Jesus Fuck he's kissing Eddie fucking Cabot and then he sees Vic lean over his shoulder and nudge his head out of the way and then Vic and Eddie are kissing and a few other things are starting to click into place for Freddy, he's part turned on and part massively relieved this office isnt going to be his murder scene.
So Vic and Eddie lead him to Eddie's bedroom, and the bed is huge and Eddie lays down at the head of it with his head propped on a pillow while Vic kisses Freddy, he has to lean down to do so lololol, and Vic started undressing Freddy while making out with him, and Freddy''s kinda weak at the knees coz even if Blonde still scares him the submissive part of him would let him do anything, then Vic's talking to Eddie, "I Wanna see him blow you" and Eddie rolls his eyes and says, "Vic he's a person not a plaything, ask him", and Vic turns to Freddy and cups his face in his hand and says in this soft voice (that still sounds dangerous to Freddy) "you wanna blow Eddie baby, you wanna suck him while I watch?" n having his face being caressed and being talked to like that brings Freddy down into a sort of subspace and he nods and then hes on all fours on the bed over Eddie's legs, sucking his dick, and he can feel Blonde's hands on his back encouraging him, moving up to rubbing between his shoulder blades, and then Blonde's hand on the back of his head, pushes him down a bit and Freddy chokes, and Eddie says "Vic" in That Voice again and pushes Vic's hands off Freddy. and vic just lays on his side next to them after that watching them intently.
After Freddy makes Eddie come (he swallows it with both of them watching, which he usually does anyway, but he gets a feeling with these two like he doesnt have much choice in the matter), they all just kinda have their hands all over each other, and despite his reservations and still being scared, Freddys loving the attention from two guys at once, two pairs of hands touching him unpredictably, at one point eddie's sucking his neck and playing with one of his nipples while Vic's teasing the other nipple between his teeth, he’s embarrassed at how much he’s moaning and whining, and then Vic says to Eddie "wanna get him ready for me?" and Eddie rolls his eyes again and goes "ask HIM" and Vic does the same thing again, caressing the side of Freddys face and running his hand thru Freddy's hair and cooing "you want Eddie to get you ready for me to fuck you hm?" and Freddy nods and tries to say yes but hes feeling so out of his element and slightly embarrassed that he stutters twice trying to get it out, but Vics like "aw, you're cute" and moves Freddy so he's on his back with his head on the pillow where Eddie started off, and again Freddy finds it so hot yet disconcerting how easy it is for this guy to manipulate and move his body.
And then Vic's sucking at his neck and jaw and nips his earlob then his shoulder, it hurts a bit and Freddy thinks he even draws a bit of blood, but it feels so good, and he hears Eddie say "lift him up a bit" and feels Vics hands under his lower back lifting him up and pillow being slid under his arse to bring his hips up and then Eddie's fingers are in him, stretching him, Freddy feels overwhelmed with Eddie's fingers opening his arse while Vic has his mouth locked in a kiss that demands his full attention. And then Eddie beside them, pulling Vic's head away from freddy and towards him for a quick kiss, and Freddy barely has time to register it before Vic's between his legs, lifting them up, grabbing the lube that Eddie had tossed beside them and rubbing some over his cock, and then he's got the head of his dick pressed against Freddy's hole, he's sliding in slower and gentler than Freddy thought he would, even tho it still hurts coz his dick is in proportion to the rest of him, but he's not being nearly as rough as Freddy expected, running his hands down Freddy's sides, and it's starting to feel really good, Freddy’s letting out lil groans and gasps, he hasn't been fucked in a long time, the familiar pleasure-pain mix that he slightly hates himself for liking so much.
After a while Vic starts to speed up, grabbing his hips and doing some sharp shallow thrusts, laughing when Freddy whimpers, "oh you are cute, kid", he's leaning over freddy now, his arms on either side of Freddy's head, sucking his neck, nipping him, and Freddy doesnt feel like he could say anything, ask him not to leave marks.
Vic's not really looking at him, just staring down at where their bodies are meeting so Freddy closes his eyes for a bit, just trying to stop his thoughts and enjoy the fuck. He can hear Vic talking with Eddie and then Blonde's thrusts start to stutter a bit, he hears him say something like "god Eddie ... Eddie", Freddy opens his eyes and Blonde's still above him but is looking behind himself, he starts to stop a few times then presses deeper into Freddy, and hisses "Eddie..." again, and Freddy realises with a jolt that Eddie's inside Blonde, fucking him while he’s fucking Freddy, and Eddie starts sharply thrusting and Freddy can see his hands moving around Blonde's waist and stomach, every time Eddie thrusts it just drives Vic even deeper into Freddy.
Freddy's whimpering a bit, and Vic laughs and goes "god this guy's noisy" and Freddy feels embarrassed, he sees Vic turn his head and meet Eddie for a kiss, and Freddy desperately wants someone to kiss him, but doesn't want to ask for it, and doesn't want it to be from either of them.
Vic grabs Freddys dick and starts jerking him, making Freddy groan some more and Vic's like "yeah, you like that don't you baby, you love having my thick cock in you, hm?" and Freddy likes the dirty talk and feeling dominated, but he also feels slightly weird, Eddie's arms are around Blonde and he's kissing his neck and Freddy feels so so full yet bizarrely empty, like he's just a prop for Blonde and Eddie's lovemaking.
Vic turns and kisses Eddie again, then gives his attention back to Freddy, and is teasing him, "I wanna fuck you from behind next time ... have you on your hands and knees, or bent over Eddie's desk. Maybe we could even fuck you on Joe's desk one day hm, would you like that baby? You'd like me fucking you hard over Joe Cabot's desk, wouldn't you, but if we made a mess you'd have to lap it all up" and Eddie makes a noise behind Vic that he definitely does NOT approve of that idea and he slams into Vic hard and Vic grunts but he's still grinning widely, and god Freddy shouldn't find his fucked up dirty talk as hot as he does, but its no more fucked up than this whole situation is already.

Joger ask: how would they cope with Roger having a crisis about the fact that John has written hit singles including their biggest ever hit and he has yet to pop his a-aide cherry? Is he rubbish? Is he really just a pretty face? He knows he brings lots of musical input & the sonic volcano & ‘the girl for everything’ for the band but really, who is he kidding? And John can’t deny that he aced his degree or does the finances or wrote hits... Thankfully Radio Gaga comes along and all ends well...
hmmmm ok. this got? long. very ramble-y. apologies
so like. roger is so fucking proud of john y’know???? and it’s not john’s songs being more successful than his which is cutting deep (because, well, commercial success is somewhat ehh to roger now that they’ve already made it big. the music he’s writing and creating, off on the side, is more about the music than anything else), it’s that he didn’t see it coming
100% did not see aobtd being a hit. hated recording it with his drums taped up, and thought the whole thing was a waste of time which.... it obviously wasn’t because john’s latest royalty cheque was big enough to have even freddie blinking in surprise
and. well. roger’s kind of always been the one with his finger on the pulse, so to speak. roger was riding the early waves of punk before the sex pistols had so much as looked at a safety pin and thought, “hmm, i wonder”. and his ability to keep up with, stay just one step ahead, of the trends has been invaluable in the past and now.... he might be slipping behind?
because even though he fucking hated half of the lines in ymbf he... he knew it was going to be a hit in the US. that sort of soft poppy feel, with a funky little bassline? the american’s eat that shit up in spades. of course it was going to be popular.
but, yeah, he didn’t see aobtd being a hit and now he’s starting to wonder if maybe the reason he isn’t writing hits isn’t because he hasn’t been trying to appeal to the broader audience, hasn’t been trying to write songs that will get massive air time or be played in clubs, but because he’s got no fucking clue about what people want anymore
‘girl for everything.......... except knowing what people want’ doesn’t, uh, sound as good
and it’s not? it’s not a Big Deal, not really. he just gets a little quieter about voicing his opinions on tracks because, well, maybe he doesn’t actually know what the fuck he’s talking about?
and so, hot space
brian’s losing his gd mind arguing with everyone and everything because he feels backed into a corner, freddie isn’t playing the peacekeeping role he usually does, john is being Just a Little Bit of an egotistic shit, and roger is........... not getting involved. which works kind of awfully because both brian and john take his silence as tacit approval of their position, which boils over into a lot of misunderstandings about just what it is roger thinks about what’s going on in the studio
(and mostly what roger thinks about what’s going on in the studio is that this album is going to be a Fucking Disaster because instead of ripping apart one anothers songs and building them back up stronger all they’re doing is ripping into one another and calling it creative differences)
and he tosses up a couple of songs and lets them do what they will with them (and oh my god if you haven’t listened to action this day performed live???? do urself a favour and do it oh my god i fucking hated that song until i listened to it live) because well. they probably know better than he does at the moment, because he doesn’t quite trust himself. and tensions are high enough that inserting himself into the cockfight when he isn’t actually Sure about his opinions just seems an unnecessary risk.
and. uh. hot space...................................................... does as it does
and john is pretty mortified about the whole thing because.... ???? all of that work and fighting and it’s flopping which is. made all the more worse by brian’s oh too casual sympathetic comments during the press junket, and then even worse by the way that roger. doesn’t seem surprised?? because. well. even when it was a love song written about roger roger was honest about what he didn’t like about it, but now there’s a whole fucking album that john pushed really hard for and roger a) didn’t like it and b) didn’t tell him
he thought they respected one another more than that. he thought they were more secure than that.
which sort of........ simmers uncomfortably between them as they gear up for the tour and sort of. explodes when roger starts making suggestions for changes to some of the songs for the live performances that. annoyingly sound much better and why didn’t you bring this up when we were recording the fucking album, roger (look aight atd sounds SO MUCH BETTER LIVE, IT’S BEEN MONTHS AND IM STILL SHOOK)
and roger’s sort pussyfooting around it because oh well... you know you and freddie really wanted to this one as a sort of concept album..... and brian and i didn’t want to interfere...... (brian: very much did want to interfere) ............ so ya know................ it’s not really my style so i didn’t wanna stick my foot where it doesn’t belong.........
and john’s like???? its music what the fuck are you Talking About? you know music you know what sounds good and what doesnt and it’s not like you’ve ever been shy about voicing your opinions before, so forgive me if im a bit confused about the sudden reticence
regardless, it’s Not a Big Deal. no really. roger will insist this til the day he dies
and things calm down? they take a break and, as they are wont to do, the tensions of the band slowly start slipping from john and roger’s day to day lives? like, when they’re not living in close quarters and feeding off of the energies that brian and freddie and mack and everyone else is putting out. it’s just them, yeah?
but anyway, roger’s still been writing music and ha enough for a new solo album so he’s like. yeah. think imma do that and john’s a bit taken aback because? fuck, you’ve been busy then you said you didn’t have much of anything for hot space??? and roger’s like. uh, yup. been busy. busy bee, me. ya know. while ur out painting the shed i gotta keep myself occupied somehow
except. well. john’s obviously lending a hand with bass and mixing, and brian’s in and out too, so’s freddie and. it’s freddie, actually, who picks up that roger had been working on the beat of  I Cry for You (Love, Hope and Confusion) back in the studio when they’d been working on hot space which.   doesn’t make sense, because he definitely hadn’t shown them it to them which is odd, because roger usually shows them everything he writes in case they want it for queen?
and then brian chimes in because, actually, he recognises the lyrics for killing time?
and john is like what the FUCK is going on because this is just? weird?
so john ends up lowkey cornering him at home in a totally not cool sneaky fashion (read: he gives him a fucking mindblowing orgasm and then is like [head propped on roger’s chest] SO)  because???? ofc he supports rog’s solo career but also? why didn’t he share what he was writing with him? what’s going on? music’s always been a language they’ve shared, even if they tended towards different dialects, and now it... well it doesn’t feel very good that roger seems to be inching him out of something that john knows is so very important to him
and roger’s like huh no idea what you’re talking bout. been really busy writing recently. shame though, means i might not have much for the next queen album
and john’s like? do you want to leave queen, if that what this is about?
and roger’s horrified because what the fuck no i’m just not sure i’ll have much to contribute is all which has john like?? because. it’s roger of course he’s got something to contribute what the fuck are you talking about
but roger’s like oh well ya know nothing im really writing at the moment is much of our current style so. that’s cool, though. that’s fine
but john is confused bc well. hot space was a bit of a failure so they’re probably headed back to more consistent waters so that’s not a problem, and hey, maybe if roger had injected a bit more of his style into the album things might have been better right?
ANYWAY basically john’s like yo my man like. if u dont wanna write any material for the new album that’s? fine ig? but we kinda Need You to be a little bitch about the things u dont like because.... things work better when ur being a nitpicky little bitch than when ur being silently supportive of me :) though that was sweet
and rogers like oh i was 100% not being supportive of either u or brian’s bullshit tbh i just. disco isn’t my forte ya know i didn’t wanna chat shit ab smth i know nothing about like, god, imagine if you’d listened to me about aobtd?????????
which. john’s like. i? i mean, i did. fuck sake, the whole thing got rewritten to be about our dog (steve) bc u made a joke about it? i.     i did listen to u about aobtd
and john has honestly NO IDEA what any of this is about? because roger has an awful tendency to sit on things until they’re Much Bigger than what they were to begin with. like, john’s actually not great at that? he’s not very good at hiding that he’s angry or upset, not for the long term. roger’s a lot better at it in the worst kind of way, because unless you pick up on it right at the beginning by the time you’ve figured out something’s wrong it’s months down the track and so many micro interactions or events have been tacked onto the Original Problem that it’s a sprawling mess of “i dont want to communicate that im feeling vulnerable about something so instead im gonna try and turn my vulnerabilities into armour” - like deciding to turn all of your writing, not just the stuff that won’t fit on your main project’s albums, into solo material because your solo stuff doesn’t have to be successful
but also, ok fine.
and so he sort of? lets it go? because tbh once roger latches onto something, when u havent go in there early enough? your best bet is to just wait for him to.... get over it. which he generally does. he doesnt have the patience for decade long grudge matches, not really.
and then it all comes to a head when brian writes and shows them all machines (or: back to humans) which obvs came about from an idea of roger’s and. well. freddie thinks its amazing, john is nodding along even as he sends him small little side eyes and well. fuck it, right?
and so the next week he comes in and slams down the first rough draft of radio gaga, the music heavily influenced by I Cry for You (Love, Hope and Confusion) which freddie had been complaining about being used up on a solo album
and then he goes home and tops the hell out of john, the end.

I dont usually vent but here is the last one.
I know that many followers on fb do have a chibi artstyle and have felt before that theyre "fandom cancer" because they cant draw them super scary or detailed or vary a lot in bodytypes. Hell, some of them cant even draw men. They have cool ideas, outfits and colouring skills but are scared to show their designs often because of this.
To which I say... pay no mind? I see so many young people who are eager to keep the fandom alive in the hispanic fandom but feel scared to do so. I dont care if you have a cute artstyle, this doesnt mean that your gijinkas are cookie cutter copies of... lets say... pole bear? Idk. You can vary the personalities, orientations, gender, skin tone and outfits of your gijinkas no problem. I hate it when these young people are put down because they feel like "ohhh latias is going to be mad because he keeps encouraging ppl to make varied gijinkas and I have a cute artstyle and cant draw horror or contrasting bodies. oh no im the worst I bet they feel like im copying pole on purpose".
And im over here like: the fact that I encourage you to make gijinkas that are not heavily based on overused fandom tropes (chica being a child or young maid, foxy being a tall introverted handsome guy, dressing freddy as a generic waiter, etc) because I want you to give your interpretations their own identity instead of feeling that you HAVE to make them generic and similar to pole's or else "the fandom will ignore me/they wont like me and accuse me of going against the norm because I want attention" (like they used to tell me back in 2015 lol) is really important. That doesnt mean im the police and that doesnt mean that im going to gatekeep you if your chica happens to be short or your mangle happens to be female. Like.... no. Thats the complete opposite. I did not spend 3 years building a community on my FB page so that we can encourage each other just for you to be afraid of me "not approving". Why kids, why? You can improve your artstyle like we all do with practice in the future, but that doesnt mean your attempt to break free of the over nostalgic polebear/rebs community and show ypur own ideas is enough for me to appreciate you. Thats why my group pictures exist, thats why my chibi lines exist. I dont want to shame you into retreating back to drawing popular designs because you feel like ypurs wont be well recieved. Take the risk, please. You can change them later on. As soon as I developed my art a little bit I made my freddy buff, I gave some characters a beard, I changed the girl's bust size, etc. But for you to re evaluate your characters and change them later on, you have to get your base ideas out first.

The quarterback ignited a storm by kneeling during the national anthem. He wanted to communicate a message but, sadly, many still refuse to hear it
Tumblr media
Colin Kaepernick is everywhere. Like an icon, he is freeze-framed stoically kneeling for everyone to see. We see his image on stickers, T-shirts, graffiti and posters. Its on magazine covers, television shows and social media sites. Oddly, the more we see Kaepernicks likeness, the less we hear his message.
Colin Kaepernick first kneeled during a pre-game national anthem in 2016. His reasoning was simple: [Im] not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.
To Kaepernick his protest was: bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.
He was referring to the fact that many police officers involved in high-profile killings of black people do so with apparent impunity. The killers of Tamir Rice, Alton Sterling, Eric Garner, Terrence Crutcher, Philando Castile and Freddie Gray (to sadly name a few) have all gone unpunished. They either were acquitted or, even worse, were never charged with a crime at all.
That is what Kaepernick wants to talk about. Instead, his message is being slowly erased. Some want to make Kaepernicks protest all about Trump. Others want to ignore what he is saying completely and shift the conversation to patriotism, the military and respect for the flag.
The NFL the same league that now treats Kaepernick like a castaway is in on the game, too. After Trumps admonishment of the sports league, some higher-ups tried to turn the kneel into a symbol of unity among players, coachers and owners. It became a protest against, not the politics of the president, but the fact that he criticized the NFL.
That isnt what this is about.
Ive known Kaepernick as a friend for some time now, and I can see how his intentions surrounding the protest are being ignored.
Kaepernick used lucid language to articulate his mission when he said: This [protest] is not something that I am going to run by anybody. I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed. If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right.
This reminds me of something Franz Fanon poignantly wrote in The Wretched of The Earth, his groundbreaking text on race and colonialism: Each generation must discover its mission, fulfill it or betray it, in relative opacity. Colin doesnt just want to fulfill his mission. He has made his mind up to never betray it.
When Donald Trump was busy threatening to cut the budget for Meals on Wheels, a program that provides meals to older impoverished Americans, Colin Kaepernick was donating $50,000 to their program.
As Trump was signing an executive order to push forward the intensely disputed Dakota Access pipeline, Kaepernick was donating another $50,000 to desperately needed health clinics at Standing Rock.
When Trump was talking about repealing the Deferred Action of Child Arrivals policy, which protected migrants who came to America as children, Kaepernick was donating $25,000 to United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led organization in the nation.
During Trumps tirade about the un-patriotic nature of Kaepernicks taking a knee, he forgets that Kaepernick donated $25,000 towards paying rent for US veterans facing eviction, and providing employment training programs for people who served in military uniform.
We need to eliminate the noise. We need to listen to what Colin Kaepernick is saying, pay attention to what he is actually doing, and why.
As he put it himself: This stand wasnt for me. This [protest] is because Im seeing things happen to people that dont have a voice. People that dont have a platform to talk and have their voices heard and effect change. Im in a position where I can do that, and Im going to do that for people that cant.
Thats why, as this protest gathers steam, its important to know what this kneel is about and what it isnt about.
Kaepernick was the architect of this protest. He was candid with his convictions, and clear with his vision. He could not take it any more. He wanted to talk about black lives being crushed by law enforcement. He wanted to bring attention to the many tentacles of systemic oppression. Kaepernick has been true to his message.
The question is: have we been true to it too?
