Furina is the type of friend who helps you run through all your closet in order to find the best outfit for a date. After all, she knows what would make Neuvillette speechless.

“Robin thought about the string that Edwin used in his spells: how a particular cradle might have five or six or eight lines of the pattern joining one hand to another. Binding them close. Robin and Edwin had already shared a handful of secrets, and now they shared another, and this awareness of their common nature—in a way that had nothing whatsoever to do with magic—hung delicate and unspoken between them as they left the room.” - @fahye, A Marvellous Light

Atreus talking about Loki like that’s not him and Atreus and Loki being regarded as two different people makes me wonder what path they’ll take with his character in the next game, will they go with the two personalities thing or what

And another thing while I’m on the topic of Lysandra- the Greek saga had a tendency to just use her as a plot device where she is more kratos’s wife he’s sad over than as a character in her own right, but, man, I wish they hadn’t continued that trend into Valhalla. I still am disappointed that the DLC that was supposed to go into kratos’s past only gave Lysandra 3 minutes of reflection, and the gist of it was “she was a good woman and she wanted me to be better but I didn’t appreciate her until it was too late”
Which is all well and good, but who was she as a person? I’m just tired of the “man is sad over woman he did wrong because she was a Good Person and wanted to change him, but he didn’t listen.” It would have been the perfect time to flesh her out more. Even mimir says that Lysandra is a “bit of a mystery.” I just really dislike how she is pushed off to the side just because kratos had a more recent relationship with Faye. He literally has her ashes on his skin, was so distraught by what he did and so guilt ridden… there’s not just one, but two scenes in the first and second game where he is nearly in tears over her (and calliope) - the scene where he has to fight his evil doppelgängers and the scene where Gaia pretends to be her to get kratos to fight again.
So with all that said, I’m baffled when I see some people act like kratos didn’t really care about her or love her. He clearly did, but I think that’s forgotten about because of the Norse saga, where of course kratos is trying to move on. It reminds me of how some people will say the Greek games had no depth, when that just isn’t the case. It’s like the established lore that is so important in the OG series just gets retconned and left in the dust.

If you wanted to set up a Last Binding server I would be so down to join!
💛💛 Throwing it out there then: if you too love a magical Edwardian queer found family and would be interested in joining what I imagine would be a pretty small chill server to chat about them, give this post a like/comment/reblog or drop me a message and if people are keen I'll start one.
Alternatively if anyone knows of an existing TLB server that's open to new members, please let me know!
ETA: I've now set this up—if you're 18+ and love the books please come on in!

The frustrating thing about being a Witcher Netflix fan is that I do agree with a lot of the criticisms most people have about the show, I don't like the way the Geralt & Jaskier relationship is, or anything about how the other Witchers are portrayed in season 2
But at the same time, I don't see those people acknowledging what does work about the show, or even mentioning these actresses at all and that is 100% the female characters,
especially the sorceresses Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Anna Shaffer as Triss, Mimi M. Khayisa as Fringilla, Cassie Clare as Philippa are all incredible, and even if you don't like the writing, you have to admit that they are the best part of the show
This definitely isn't everyone or even the majority, but I can't help but be a bit suspicious when I see an account that only mentions the white male actors (whether positively or negatively doesn't matter this post is about prejudice, not only about what you think of the show) and characters, but doesn't acknowledge these actresses
especially with all the comments of racism and misogyny that the cast and crew received and are still receiving today, not all bigotry is as loud as those YouTube channels that have "woke" in all the titles and thumbnails, some people I saw were hiding their true thoughts on the guise of it "not being Slavic enough" and then only pointing those comments towrds the POC actors, yeah Ill believe that when they say Geralt should have been played by a slavic theater actor (something I believe BTW)
