tired of nonbinary people being pressured to be thin hairless elf like pretty and always depicted as white afab skinny kids with blue hair, of course only using they/them. give me nonbinary people who are heavily fem/masc aligned!! give me nonbinary people who use neopronouns and xenogenders!! give me fat nonbinary people!! hairy nonbinary people!! nonbinary POC!! amab nonbinary people!! disabled nonbinary people!! nonbinary people who wear crazy clothes, or nonbinary people who don’t stand out and don’t feel the need to!! nonbinary people with names like Moss or Socks, or nonbinary people with “regular” names like Susan or James or something!! Give me every flavor of nonbinary people, and stop trying to make it into yet ANOTHER gender binary!! Nonbinary can be anything, not just a third gender to adhere to!!

incomplete list of things i really enjoyed while seeing Cats (international tour/Düsseldorf 2025) live at the start of the month:

tugger and misto sitting on the side during Gus the Theater Cat, tugger on the oven and misto on the pipe, and neither paying attention to gus, instead constantly flirting making eye contact and comments (jokes?) at each other

demeter convincing munkustrap to volunteer during mistos number till he reluctantly raised a hand (+ his relief when misto picked cassandra instead)

all songs were done so well but especially gumbie cat live was just awesome. love to see a whole stage full of cats in weird trash costumes tap dancing <3

tugger howling like a dog in the background during pekes & pollicles

second row seats = Intense Eye Contact especially during The Naming Of Cats & Ad-Dressing Of Cats (+ getting a smile from the performers bc my friend and i were mouthing along the lyrics)

the FULL darkness after macavity kills the lights... and Misto relighting all the lights and the stars and the moon... so cute

the old women in the row behind us LOUDLY gasping when misto magic'd back old deut. they were so genuinely impressed by the switcheroo

One must never deny themselves from themselves by remaining out of place. One must step forward with complete belief, leaving as little unsaid and unresolved as possible. It’s not a “fresh start” or a “new beginning”… It is simply what comes next. In many years when I look back over all of it, the move, my relationships, my losses and burdens, my demands and hopes. All will be seamless like a glassy bed of water, all will balance what came before and lay stone for what waits. When things are out of rhythm, out of cycle, out of Hope, out of creation, out of place, they are ill in their nature and bound to fail.

So laugh awhile at what troubles you, take stock of what you have, pack light, look your friends and lovers in the eyes as you embrace them and then take your leave. You are doing no one favors (least of all yourself) by remaining. Come back to them when you found your grin again, when your voice fills your words with a honest and strong timbre as it once did. No more burning up, no more half hearted grasps at relief, quickly now.
