Could we get the Claymore Queens (and anyone else of your choice) reacting to their SO trying to be tough for their sake, not saying anything, not wincing (or trying not to), not complaining, although they're not in the best condition?

(Genshin Impact) Clorinde, Eula, Dehya, Beidou, Navia, Noelle, Furina and Xinyan's S/O trying to tough out their injuries

"Nah, I'd win." - Me at 1hp to my friends after getting hit by a boss's move dead on.

Clorinde has been in so many duels to the point where she can tell someone is bluffing, simply by their body language alone.

S/O was heavily injured: their legs were slightly trembling, breathing heavy, and weapon shaking.

And she's only glanced at them for a few seconds. They were in no condition to keep going, even if they insisted otherwise.

(Clorinde) "You need to rest, S/O. If we get into another fight, you've already lost."

She rests a firm but affectionate hand onto their shoulders in an attempt to get them to relax.

(Clorinde) "Getting yourself killed will not prove to me that you are strong."

Eula frowns the moment she hears her S/O say they're fine.

She doesn't even need to look at them, Eula immediately turns around and tells them what they need to hear.

(Eula) "You are not fine. Tend to your wounds, I won't be the one dragging your unconscious body back to Mondstadt."

Though her words are harsh, it comes from a place of concern and love.

She'd prefer not to have S/O injured at all and be the one in their shoes instead, but it'd at least make her heart rest easier knowing they were out of harm's way and recovering.

(Eula) "At the very least, just wrap the bandages around yourself."

Dehya scoffs and crosses her arms, shoulders sagging as she raises a single eyebrow.

(Dehya) "Psh, yeah right. I'm sure that blood dripping down your arms means you're completely rarin' to go, right?"

She shakes her head as she forces them to sit down, and with her arm strength and S/O's injuries, it is very easy to do.

(Dehya) "Sit still for a sec, you're not fooling anyone."

Dehya knows they weren't trying to worry her, but if anything this was doing the opposite.

...Then again, she can't exactly blame them. She'd probably do the same right now.

Beidou lightly punches their arm, and when S/O yelps out, that solidifies her decision.

(Beidou) "Thought so. You're sitting this one out for now."

Beidou's top priority is always the safety of her crew, S/O was no exception.

She doesn't take no for an answer easily, and Beidou does not care how much S/O tries to convince her otherwise.

(Beidou) "You'd convince me a lot more if you weren't hissing every single time my hand brushed against you, y'know."

Navia isn't even listening to S/O try to insist that they're fine.

Navia, along with some bodyguards that appeared out of nowhere, are already tending to their injuries.

(Navia) "We'll get you fixed up in no time, you leave everything to me!"

Her heart is pounding when she's looking at their injuries, trying her best to block the unpleasant thoughts out of her head.

What matters the most right now is that S/O not push themselves anymore for her sake.

Navia needed them to be okay.

(Navia) "No more of that talk, S/O! You're resting here and that's final! Gentlemen, S/O does not move an inch from this spot, understood?"

(Bodguards) "Yes. ma'am!"

Noelle pouts when she sees S/O trying to walk beside her.

Absolutely not! They weren't even in the condition to help her clean.

Granted, not a lot of people can clean an entire wagon just by lifting it with one arm, S/O included, but her point still stands.

(Noelle) "I do not think so! S/O, I ask you leave this work to me! You sit here and rest, I'll clean the rest of this mess up!"

Noelle is twice as determined to ensure not a single enemy gets through her. Her goal was to make S/O not worry, not the other way around!

As a dutiful maid should!

Plus, S/O knows if they try to protest, Noelle is using that superhuman strength to make them stay put.

Furina's fists clench when she sees S/O try to smile despite the heavy hits on their body.

...No. Enough was enough.

S/O would not get themselves hurt anymore for someone like her.

(Furina) "Do you take me for a fool, S/O?! I demand that you take a seat this instant!"

Her expression is angry, angrier than S/O had ever seen Furina.

But it quickly simmers down once her voice starts shaking.

(Furina) "I'd never forgive myself if you tried to keep going simply to not make me worry...Just be honest and tell me you have to rest!"

The irony of being honest was not lost on her, but they already knew the truth about her.

It's only fair that they didn't lie about how they were either.

Xinyan walks in front of S/O, hands on her hips.

(Xinyan) "Heck no, ya ain't fine! Ya look like yer about to keel over!"

She rushes to them and ushers for them to sit on the ground, while getting a few bandages out.

(Xinyan) "'Fine' my butt! You're lookin awful! Please just take a rest!"

A sigh of relief leaves her body once S/O complies, allowing her to tend to all their bruises.

It pained her to even see them this injured, but if anything, they won't strain themselves any further for her.

Now whether or not you could be trusted around guns, there came a time Navia decided upon teaching you how to wield her weapon, both because your eyes seemingly threatened to pop out of their sockets whenever you saw her shoot it. Luckily for the both of you however, you were already well acquainted with the basic rules of handling a firearm, having received a lengthy lesson from Clorinde the moment you told her about buying a pistol.

“Put your other foot right here. Try to dig in with your heel a bit, I may make it look easy, but its recoil is no joke”, Navia instructed you while standing close behind you, moving your limbs around as if you were a puppet to make sure you didn’t hurt yourself before finally taking a step back, both to give you some space and to take a good look at her work.

“Looks alright to me, Partner! I’ll count down from five for you, don’t forget about the recoil”, the Spina’s President called out to you once she was done staring, slowly moving a few steps behind you while readying herself to catch you for when you inevitably underestimated the force of the recoil. A mistake she had committed as well on her first try, as no matter how much one was warned beforehand, the realization that one was firing what was basically a cannon in your own two hands only truly settled in after the first shot.

And what a wise decision it was for her to prepare, as barely a moment after the last number left her mouth, you were sent flying backwards, clumsily trying to regain your balance to not fall on your behind before inevitably having to be caught by her.

“And? Did you have fun?”, Navia asked half-teasingly, looking down at your face as the shock was written all over your face, as she tried her hardest to hold back a smile.

“WHAT?!”

Oh, right. She nearly forgot you weren’t used to the noise yet. The ringing of your ears probably the only thing you were hearing right now… with the exception of your heart beat perhaps. 

“You’ll get used to it”, Navia thought out loud before shooting you an apologetic smile and planting a small kiss on your forehead.

ok theres a lot. prefacing this by saying ive been a hardcore albedo fan since he first launched and klee was also the only five star i was saving for when i first started the game bc. yeah. so finding out they were siblings was Big for me and made me love them even more. i like. Dug into furniture descriptions, item descriptions, weapons, etc for them and their family (including alice, rhine, and any of rhines other creations) for Years.

basically: i was heavily fixated on her.

spoilers for simulanka and paralogism and below.

ok now in game backstory:

simulanka:

genshin had an event during the summer called simulanka, a fairy tale land made by the hexenzirkel so that another version of durin (mini durin) could get a second chance. primary cast for this event: traveler, paimon, kirara, navia, scaramouche.

we get some more insight on durin being misunderstood and hurt bc he was physically incapable of going towards mondstadt. we also learn that durin will one day come back to life.

this event parallels mini durin to scaramouche bc of their feelings towards their mothers abandonment (through death or ei’s attempt at liberation), guilt over living, loneliness, and villainy. oh this event Also adds a bit to my klee and durin parallels which makes me sick i have a post abt it somewhere anyways. mini durin left simulanka and lives w scara i believe.

NOW MY PROBLEM W THIS. is that towards the end, they start? acting like scara is the most important person to durin?????? for some fuckass reason? like theres an afterword where albedo and scara Do meet and discuss actual durin and albedo says that irl durin’s fate and scara’s fate are now tied. which is absolutely crazy to make ALBEDO (the character who hs the most to do w durin) say but lol. ive already talked at length abt why i dont like this decision but

tldr: their relationship and this connection serves scara way more than it serves durin. if it Had to be an unequal relationship, it Should’ve been w albedo. like ut makes the most sense from both a logical and artistic standpoint.

paralogism:

quest starts off w traveler coming to mondstadt for windblume (festival for a thousand winds where you offer flowers to barbatos and your loved ones). traveler is then summoned to jean’s office where theyre like heyyyy sooo albedos on trial can upu come with us to the court? and travelers like …. yeah. we learn albedo is being accused of murder by hertha bc he was seen burying remains, though when dug up, nothing was found except for clothes and some bones. he’s sentenced as guilty bc of a letter that, when put together w the witness accounts, imply he was abducting humans and using them in morally dubious alchemical experiments. albedo is mostly quiet throughout the trial. he Does demand a retrial though and that goes through. between the time of the first trial and the retrial, traveler goes to albedo’s office and searches for evidence, at jean’s request. they find a secret compartment with maps marked w the locations witnesses saw him burying a body AND a third location that was unaccounted for. traveler goes there and finds an empty hole with worn claw marks.

during the retrial, traveler presents the fact that the MO w the first two locations and the third dont add up and albedo brings up primordial albedo (aka subject 2/dorian). albedo claims her innocence, saying she never killed a person but he Did bury things in those locations and she Did kill someone in dragonspine, that someone being subject 2. she reveals she buried him and subject 2’s body was dug up and fed to durin. then things go to hell bc a second hertha enters the room, revealing that the hertha accusing albedo of murder was actually a synthetic human and oh no actually theres more synthetic humans around them. ok so fake hertha is actually the core and all the others are somehwat her whim it seems?????? its a bit vague. anyways we find out this entire trial was a ruse the knights planned to lure out the imposters and we learn that it wasnt Just hertha but a large amount of civilians who’d been replaced by synthetic humans and now a bunch of monsters are attacking mond.

the synthetic humans were sourced from durin, who grew jealous and spiteful after absorbing subject 2’s being and learning abt albedo. he wants to take albedos place. albedo’s plan is to basically kill durin and resurrect him into a new form, using mini durin from simulanka, who expressed interest in taking on a human form. she’s hoping that this durin won’t take on actual durin’s evilness and would take more of mini durin’s desires and pureness. albedo passes trails by the hexenzirkel, gets permission and materials, and gives mini durin a human form. he. kinda looks like kosma from what we’ve seen lmao anyways. quest ends w albedo dropping huge lore drops abt 1. rhine leaving him there so that he could find a life of his own and make human connection (which he finds in his family) 2. RHINE FUCKING FUSED WITH THE RULER OF LIFE WHAT THE FUCK????????????????????????

also a bunch of ppl know albedo’s a homunculus now. a bunch of ppl also know venti is barbatos.

NOW MY THOUGHTS BC I HAVE A LOT OFBTHEM:

I LOVVVVVE THE FACT THAT THEY ACTUALLY CONFIRMED THE RHINES MOTVE THING. IT WAS SOMETHING WE SAW COMING FROM ALBEDO’S CHARACTER STORIES + CINNABAR SPINDLE DESCRIPTION BUT IM SOOO SOOO HAPPY W IT BC I FEEL LIKE IT GIVES BOTH RHINE AND ALBEDO A LOT MORE DEPTH BC THEIR LIVES AS KHAENRIAHNS ARE MARKED BY DEATH IN A WAY.

god i love the open acknowledgment of family bc thats Always been the Most Important theme w albedos character and they actually stuck to it.

ALICE <333333333 ALICEEEE I LIVE YOU FOREVERRRRRR. she shows up in the quest and shes sooo sooooo silly i love her badly.

we got lil cameos if ofger characters and fhat was really cute :’) it makes the world feel so much more lived in i like that a lot.

they made klee’s skill do 40k per jump.

i like the dynamic they introduced w dahlia and venti. dahlia is the deacon of the church and knows venti’s identity. he teases him abt it its honestly sweet even if it kinda came out of nowhere 😭😭

the big cutscene was gorgeous oh my godddddddddd it was beautiful.

we actually visit the imaginarium theater in a quest.

venti chose cecilias (his and albedo’s ascension mats) as the windblume and brought up the prodigal son line in reference to albedo which is exactly what i connected when that line first came up in emilie’s story quest!!!!!!!!!! prodigal son also being jesus, ofc, so the venti thing is just a plus for me.

ok now cons:

pacing was…..interesting to say the least. it was strange i get that we’re supposed to be traveler, but the way they jaist drop us in the middle of it felt really weird i feel like genshin just kinda shot itself in the foot by limiting us to Only traveler in this particular case.

kinda sucks that they just so readily shared the fact that albedo is a homunculus w everyone thats so boring give me drama i want drama. why didnt they do anything w kaeya and khaenri’ah.

it also makes the fact that the trial was fake even more :1 to me bc. idk i Wanted them to be more ballsy w it i guess? i mean i guess they already did that w childe in fontaine but like. yk. fontaine trials gave me Drama and Stakes.

THERE NEEDED TO BE MORE KLEE. ok if you havent read my word dump abt klee, she’s increidbly important to albedos story in particular i dont understand why they barely utilized her bc imo, the emotional fulfillment would’ve been worth so much more than the logistical (doylestinian) fulfillment of keeping her away.

the way durin was characterized was really weird to me? i dont get them constantly emphasizing how evil he is when we Know for a fact that he was misguided and thought he was playing when he wrecked havoc on mondstadt (festering desire description). like.. that was The point w simulanka too. and the jealousy over albedo felt oht of place for me. i think they were trying to do a “oh those are feelings he absorbed from subject 2” but that feels sloppy to me when 1. durin is his own character lmao. 2. you would think durin’s own feelings would surpass subject 2’s considering he’s way more powerful and yk. a million times larger. 3. artistically, wouldn’t this just make this story way too similar w shadows amidst snowstorms??????? i feel like it wouldve been a million times more poignant to Not do that and actually go w the corruption thing theyve been hinting at.

spekaing of the corruption thing, WHY WASNT ALBEDO CORRUPTED😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 THEY PUT THAT LINE IN HER STORY QUEST ABD JUST DIDNT FOLLOW UP?????????????????????? i need to have a word with their writers what the fuck

i also have a lot of mixed feelings on the durin turning human thing but i fear i cant be As objective w this as everything else bc im not the biggest fan of mini durin as a result of simulanka kfjdjendj. like narratively i guess it would be a full circle moment for albedo to match rhine in her feats but also????????? what about for durin. yk. like durin Is a tragedy and i much preferred him dead bc of that. theres a line in cinnabar spindle where rhine wishes for albedo to surpass herself and her other creations and i feel like that would be a million times more poignant if albedo was the only rhine creation with a life yk. (life as in like. living rather than existing.)

speaking of mini durin though, idk man. i have no idea how to feel i have very mixed feelings abt it and its partially bc im still sour from simulanka and partially bc?????????????????i just dont really get why narratively they would do that. scream. i have tjoughts on mini durin if you cant tell. i like him in comcept but i also think the themes wouldve been stronger had he not been real.

the random subject 2 erasure was out of nowhere to me bc didnt we have that cutscene w another albedo watching over the actual albedo in the shadows amidst smowstorms event am i crazy. it just feels really weird for albedo to kill him off camera and then they only bring it up now.

where tf was klee im so serious. im putting it again i dont get how you can have an albedo quest abt family and Not have klee play an important role esp when we KNOW she’s a foil to those w fucked up families. theres literally a line in a previous event where kaeya essentially says klee heals those w broken families w/o even knowing it. like……. WHERE WAS SHE. she’s important wnough that they activeky kept her leitmotif in albedo’s theme but they wont give her more than 5 lines???? idk dont get why they used her so sparingly bc we got her mom here why isnt She there. and alice is literally using dodoco as a form come on???? klee shouldve been there. in my head i would rather klee and albedo be the one to do the trial but #whatever. they couldve been so devastating.

just. overall kinda feels like they were playing it safe which kinda sucks bc i really wanted them to be ballsy w this in a way that fit the characters. yk i didn’t actually think they would kill anyone bc that would fuck up the genshin format but like. give me more risk the conclusion just kinda feels unearned i guess??

Heres the Heartslabyul doodles!! Im just about done with 2 of the final draft designs so id say next week id start posting them!

As a small detail i came up with for the au though-

Riddles family runs the Roseheart Info Guild, closely associated with the Spina Di Rosula. Yes, Riddle has tea with Navia, I needed this- Id also like to imagine hes memorized all of the rules of Fontaine just the way he does for actual Heartslabyul!

Ace and Deuce are his Guards, Cater is one of his top investigators(he pulls strings with Charlotte to get access to places and info, i think those two would be quite chatty together!

And lastly Trey is both his attendant and negotiator. He does run a bakery with his family in Fontaine but it becomes a good place for meetings and for gathering info from regular city folk who come in with new gossip!

I also realized that the Aduece combo is mirroring Lyney and Lynette (color wise the red and blue and weapon wise Lyney/Ace as Archers and Lynette/Deuce as swordsmen) so I like to think they loke to mimic them, playfully pretending to do their tricks and jokes from their performance. Aside from that, Deuce looks up to Clorinde like an Idol! Wants to be just like her, the sparkle in his eyes when he got his vision, the same element as hers!

Hope you guys look forward to hearing and seeing more 💕💕🥹🥹 let me know your thoughts too!

I had a dream about the majority of the Fatui Harbingers being playable, along with some details but since it's a dream I only remember so much. But I thought I'd share!

Remember, this was only my dream!! Nothing is based on concrete facts and if there are similarities it only a coincidence.

So in my dream I was bitten by a snake and had to recover at the hospital. But instead of normal hospital things on the wall there were seven posters. It was about the seven harbingers that have yet to appear/be playable minus Signora and Pulcinella. It had possible materials, release dates, weapons, bursts and skills along with a theme.

Pierro's theme I believe it's called "The Director." Or something similar, just related to being the head of the Harbingers. It said the release was version 7+ so that would mean it'll be in the Khaenri'ah chapter. His weapon was a catalyst, and he was a cryo but he doesn't have a vision. His skill was similar to Lisa's but it rains ice shards, and his burst was similar to Gepard's (From Star Rail) but it was an attack where the iceberg(?) He creates hits the enemies. I didn't know his materials so it's most likely a new enemy from Khaenri'ah.

Dottore's theme was "Madness and Folly." And for some reason he was a claymore?? I don't see him as a claymore but I guess my dream did. Release date 6.4+ so in the Snezhnaya Chapter. He's also a cryo, but with a vision. His skill was similar to Rosaria's burst, but I couldn't remember his burst, all I know is that the animation is him snapping his fingers with a smirk on his face. His materials were dead ley lines (the ones abyss mages dropped.)

Columbina's theme was either "Fallen one" or "Downfallen" and she uses a bow. I don't know her element since her playstyle in my dream was that she's meant to be physical damage and a healer. Her attacks were throwing daggers instead of arrows (Like Lyney using cards) and her skill was rushing at enemies and unfurling these sharp, white wings and using them to slice the enemies. The animation for the burst was her putting a finger to her lips and telling us to "Hush" and similar to Qiqi enemies will be marked so if you hit them you'll heal. In the background while the burst is active you'll hear Columbina singing. It said she'll be released during the Natlan Chapter, 5.8 iirc, and I didn't recognize her materials.

Arlecchino's theme was "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing." I think. Similar to the leaks she's a pyro polearm and she'll be released 4.6 as well. Her skill was like Tartaglia's, it switches polearm and her using claws to attack the enemies. Her burst was only one kind though no matter which phase, it'll be a close-up of her face and I think she said "The games are over." Or "The show's over." Before it zooms out and an explosion happens behind her. Her materials are the Fatui operative's pocket watches.

Sandrone's theme was "Cog in the Machine." And she's a sword user, but I don't remember her element. I think it said Version 6+ so her release would be during the Snezhnaya Chapter. When she gets hit, her robot protects her like Svarog to Clara in Star Rail but there's no counter attack. Her skill would be summoning her robot (the one where she sits on the arm) and it auto attacks the enemies. The burst would be her robot releasing rockets on the enemies just like ruin guards do. Her materials are what you'd expect, it's the ruin drakes' drops.

Unfortunately, Pantalone is the one I remember least about. His theme was "Mora and Power." And he's a hydro catalyst. I don't remember his skill and burst though. His release date is also in the Snezhnaya Chapter and his materials are the treasure hoarder insignias.

Capitano's theme is "Rebellion." Or "Rebel Forces." And his release is between 5.4-5.6 and he's a pyro sword user. His attacks are similar to fencing maneuvers. His skill is similar to Tanjiro's water wheel in Demon Slayer but it's pyro. I remember his burst was called "Hellfire." And it rained lava meteors like Navia's burst. His materials looked like broken swords of a new enemy in Natlan.

Odysseus trying to get home, stumbles upon Jaspar, or rather, Jaspar stumbles upon a washed up Odysseus who has crashed his ship in his attempts to thwart the Aeons and get home. His armour is busted, his weapons broken and that which gave him more of an edge. Jaspar perhaps helping him to health and then helping rebuild his ship and the weapons that he needs to get home.

Perhaps within that plot becomes a sub-section of it where Odysseus and Jaspar then begin experimenting with weaponry and armour builds that can accommodate the strength he has lost. Losing the favour of the Aeons means he no longer can access the divine abilities given to him, so how can they compensate for it. Perhaps this leads to Odysseus actually having fun for the first time in a long time, the solemn, world-weary man breaking a smile as he lands on his backside when something they attempted goes wrong.

I think as a light-hearted plot, perhaps Ravi wanting to know more of the world and Mortefi left bereft of work in the lab leads to him suggesting they go on an expedition elsewhere. They can traverse over Huanglong, settling in villages and taking samples, Mortefi focused on things for his work. He explains parts of the land he knows, but also recommends others Ravi can talk to if he finds interest in these facts he offers.

And then on a slightly more serious note, Ravi catching Mortefi descaling himself would open them up to having a conversation about draconic heritage and why Mortefi is so ashamed of his enough to essentially rip his own scales off when they become too abundant. That in turn opens Mortefi up to the talking about the reasons he came to Jinzhou and how he carries this weight of the consequences of his overclocking. And perhaps Ravi offers some words in return or some advice.

I think it would be neat to have some kind of plot of her bringing him into the theatre more, pulling on his skills, him having to temper her vision a little as she goes off on a tangent. The idea of them working together to make her dream a reality, bringing the intangible into the world and making it real. Particularly after her being in Simulanka where creativity was at its peak. Perhaps she came back and feels this initial rush of ideas and it becomes almost overwhelming, and Ethan's here to help her navigate it before she ends up crashing out with dejection.

Alternatively, I think it would be neat for them going on travels together, to explore the wider world. Perhaps he's the only one really she wants to adventure with - perhaps to Fontaine to meet Navia again after Simulanka. In the same breath she is introducing him to all she knows, talking about his skills, and perhaps because she knows Navia, they both end up helping in the rebuilding of Poisson. He in the practical work, her in entertaining in the evenings with dances from her homeland. And if Navia catches her smiling as she watches Ethan work, she promises its just because she loves to see him in his element and thinking about how far they have both come.

They had been preparing for this for weeks, and finally, it was time.

This would be their toughest battle, one that would test all of their skills and determine the fate of the world. Failure was not an option.

Clorinde sat at the head of the table, her game master screen keeping the details secret from those gathered at the table. For this adventure, Navia and Clorinde had managed to get Lyney to rejoin them and also pull in Emilie and Chevreuse as new players. It took a few sessions for the latter two to get their feet under them, but they both proved to be clever companions in this imaginary journey.

Now it was time to put this all to the test with Clorinde’s final boss. If Navia had to guess, Clorinde had spent weeks putting this boss together and thinking of the best way to challenge her players. 

As Clorinde prepared to start the session, the rest of the table were looking over their character sheets and items one last time. Next to Navia, Emilie was preparing her character’s various healing abilities for the coming fight. She had an impressive arsenal of potions and healing spells, but the Iniquitous Baptist they were facing was notorious for its ability to shred through player characters easily. They would need every advantage to stay alive.

Chevreuse, across from Navia, was munching quietly on the snack food as she reviewed her setup. Her character was a fighter armed with powerful weapons gained in their travels; currently, her best weapons were prepped and ready to go against an Abyssal entity. The patroller seemed fairly calm about the upcoming fight; Navia supposed that an intense fight, even an imaginary one, was business as usual for Chevreuse.

Next to her, Lyney was looking through his rogue’s various abilities and skills, mumbling quietly to himself. While he was not as much of a damage dealer as Chevreuse and Navia’s character (a paladin warrior dedicated to fighting the scourge of the Abyss), his debuffing abilities would be crucial in hindering the Abyssal leader’s insane damage output.

And Navia? Well…

She had an idea that had been brewing for some time, something that could completely turn Clorinde’s encounter around. But if she revealed her hands too early, Clorinde could stop her. Careful not to make her suspicious, Navia casually glanced over her sheets but mostly fought to keep a grin off of her face.

Clearing her throat, Clorinde looked over the group. “Is everyone ready?”

Various affirmations met the GM, and with that settled, Clorinde launched into the narrative.

“The Abyss had been tormenting this region for years, poisoning the land and making the citizens suffer. Their monsters ran free, tormenting weary travelers and killing the unfortunate who could not fight back.

After weeks of chasing down clues and talking to dozens of NPCs, you had finally found the location of the Iniquitous Baptist location. This individual is the leader of the Abyss in the area and if you can take him out, this will protect the region for years to come and save hundreds of innocent lives.

The hideout is inconspicuous, but you can sense the evil emanating from within. As you descend into the darkness, the air is stale and old; very few living beings set foot in here. The Abyssal energy swirls around you and leaves you cold down to your very bones.

After wandering the long corridors carefully, you finally find the center of this hideout. There stands your enemy; tall and imposing, you can feel the Abyssal aura pouring off of him. Two long, dark blades rest in his hands and his head turns in your direction.

“Adventurers,” a dark voice speaks out. You can hear the malevolence, the sheer darkness in that single word. “I see you have come to your doom. Prepare to face your end, here and now!”

The Iniquitous Baptist raises his swords towards you and—”

“GM, if I may?” Navia spoke up sweetly, cutting through Clorinde’s description and grinning at her. Immediately, Clorinde was tense; she knew Navia had a penchant for…chaos when she used that tone.

(In Navia’s defense, chaos made the game way more fun. She also enjoyed keeping Clorinde on her toes and seeing what the duelist could come up with on the fly.)

“I would like to talk to the Iniquitous Baptist,” Navia said, making sure to keep eye contact with the GM as she spoke. “....what for?” Clorinde asked. Her tone made it plenty clear she didn’t really have an idea of what Navia was doing and wasn’t sure she wanted to know.

“I want to see if he’s willing to play a game with me before we get into a fight,” Navia said, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“A game,” Clorinde repeated, her voice somewhat flat and disbelieving. “With the Iniquitous Baptist.”

“Of course!” Navia smiled at the duelist. After a long moment of consideration (and the rest of the team glancing at each other and Navia in confusion), Clorinde finally spoke.

“...pull a card for persuasion.” Her tone practically screamed, ‘I don’t know why I’m even allowing this’ but like any good GM, she would at least let her players try a crazy course of action.

Reaching for a card, Navia quickly pulled it out and flipped it over. Her grin grew even larger as she turned the card to Clorinde; a golden 20 stared back at the woman.

“No way!” Lyney burst into laughter upon seeing the 20. “Isn’t your persuasion score maxed out too??”

“It is,” Navia confirmed. Against all odds, she had pulled off the perfect persuasion against the Iniquitous Baptist of all beings and won.

Clorinde sighed heavily, looking like she was about to start rubbing her forehead. “The Abyssal leader pauses and looks at you for a long moment. He finally says he’ll agree to this game of yours, if only to get some amusement before he kills you.”

Oh yeah, Clorinde was for sure going to destroy Navia’s character first for this.

Leaning on her hands, Navia stares down the Champion duelist and tells her, “I pull out the Deck of Many Things and tell him to draw a card.”

“Oh my Archons,” Chevreuse sighs as Lyney’s laughter redoubles. Emilie is trying and failing badly to keep her smile hidden. “This is going to go so badly.”

“So little faith, Chevreuse!” Navia chided as she grabbed a deck from her supplies. Carefully shuffling the cards and fanning them out facedown, she presents them to Clorinde. 

Violet eyes assess the cards carefully before a white gloved hand reaches over and grabs a single card. There’s a long pause before Clorinde flips the card around for all to see: Two of Spades.

“The Two of Spades card represents Balance,” Clorinde reads from the list of what each card does. “Your mind suffers a wrenching alteration, causing your alignment to change. Lawful becomes chaotic, good becomes evil, and vice versa.” As she speaks, each word sounds more and more disbelieving.

“...does that mean…?” Emilie asked, eyes wide as she stared at the card.

“The Abyssal Leader is now good??” Lyney finished, sounding incredulous. Navia watches as Clorinde’s mind frantically spins through the information and how it applies to their enemy; she knows the duelist well enough to see that Clorinde is quickly realizing there’s no way out of this one.

“I do believe so!” She chirps, her cheeks aching from how widely she’s smiling. 

“...congratulations,” Clorinde finally says, sighing heavily as she drops the card to the table. "You defeated the Abyssal leader and saved the land from the great evil."

Teyvat — Overture Teaser (Fontaine)

🌱 This is a bit late post, but I’m just really happy and quite overwhelmed to get a teaser from Hoyo for Fontaine! It is so surreal how last year, we just got Sumeru, and it possessed quality stories most particularly the Archon Quests. They improved with their writing considering that Inazuma was not expounded properly.

The side quests such as the Aranara, Golden Slumber, Dirge of Bilqis, and Khavarena of Good and Evil were also notable. Although not voiced, for lore enthusiasts, the stories enlightened missing portions of lore read only through books or articles scattered around the region. I particularly like the Aranara Quest despite its lengthy missions.

🌱 Moving on to Fontaine, we get a glimpse of the characters who will play major roles in the quest.

💧Freminet — Cryo Claymore — Automaton

Hoyo introduced this character first, and we see that he’s a diver of some sort based on his appearance. Lyney also mentioned that he is his older brother. Whether it would be by blood or not, we will know in the future.

💧 Lynette — Anemo Sword — Felis Alba

Next we see are the twins, Lyney and Lynette. Lynette appeared to be more robotic in a sense, and on the drip marketing, she was mentioned as Lyney’s assistant who seemed to prefer keeping to herself. She preferred Lyney to do the talking than anything else. For what reason? Still unknown to many.

It’s interesting really because Lyney seemed to care for his siblings a lot, and others may have already known but they were from the House of the Hearth headed by Arlecchino “The Knave”.

As for Lyney, he was the narrator for the teaser, and he has been hinting about the current situation in Fontaine. I’m really excited to see how things will go from here on out especially since Sumeru was a blast!

By the way, they look so cute here! Wrio looks like he’s teasing her with choosing the tea instead of the other drink! It’s still unsure what their relationship is, but they look like siblings huhuhu

💧 Clorinde — Electro ???

As I’m looking at her, I’m also desperate for Hoyo to have a gun shooting character. Like a gun weapon type, but I’m not sure if they’ll ever introduce another weapon type because Mika has cross-bow, and not even a new type. A big sigh of disappointment leaves my lips.

She’s so cool though! Aaah! I’m so excited to see what’s her relationship or occupation in the Court of Fontaine!

🌱 Arlecchino — The Knave

Then we got Arlecchino looking so hot and ominous at the same time! The way she talked about Lyney and Lynette as well as the traits of a good actor makes me wonder if she’s treating the situation in Fontaine as nothing more but a trivial play.

🌱 Last but not the least, we get Furina and Neuvilette.

💧 Neuvillette — ???

If others may have remembered, we already heard of Neuvillette from Nahida’s drip marketing. He’s the Chief Justice in Fontaine and the one to head any cases in the court. He also mentioned once how he admired the Dendro Archon unlike his, but I think he has some sense of respect to his archon.

He also has some theories already speculated by the mass such as him being a Khaenri’ahn because of the eyes while others think he’s an oceanid in human form. Whatever he may be, we’ll know soon. I’m definitely pulling for this daddy man 😋

As for Furina, one thing that comes to mind is she’s definitely the Hydro Archon. This is not coming from leaks or whatsoever, but from pure reasoning alone. Nahida mentioned that the Hydro Archon loved to immerse herself in the feeling of the courtroom but not engaging in it. So it means that she’s usually seen just hanging around the court and never interacting with anyone. In the trailer, she’s seeking a surprise to finally come her way. This makes me think that maybe that surprise she’s looking for will involve the Fatui and Traveler. Whatever conflict it may be, Furina wanted to find delight in that.

🌱 Anyways, that’s all! I just really want to talk about it. I may not be making sense at some parts, but I try. One more patch, and we’re finally seeing our fifth region. I’m so excited!

The following is a rant on the current state of Genshin Impact, the VA situation, Escoffier(and the reason I will not be supporting her banner on release) and the problem with the fans, hate will be blocked so just don't even bother.

Hot take but Escoffier is the ugliest design I've seen for a Genshin character since Rosaria and why has nobody realized she was basically "advertised" as an ill tempered pyro chef and is nothing like what she was, also why TF did they decide to have her use a ladle like a wand? She's so gimmicky it hurts my eyes, most unnecessary character since Lan Yan's existence.

I'll give it to you straight, Escoffier is ugly and a completely unoriginal design, she is basically a ripoff of Navia, Mizuki and Chevreuse, she was supposed to be Pyro(we all know that, it was basically confirmed without being confirmed) and was changed and the only reason you all don't hate her is because she's from Fontaine and not Natlan, you do know very well THE SAME PEOPLE WHO MADE NATLAN MADE ESCOFFIER, IT DOES NOT MATTER. YOU ALL SIMPLY HAVE A BIAS AGAINST NATLAN FOR REASONS THAT ARE SIMPLY YOU.THINK.IT SHOULD.BE.DIFFERENT. If you are so sure on your opinions then go work at Hoyoverse and complain to Da Wei because I personally don't want to hear just how much you hate Natlan. In fact I was an avid Genshin Impact and Hoyoverse hater who thought they didn't deserve to exist UNTIL the release of Natlan, when Natlan released I saw a fun area that answered alot of players desires and it felt like they were actually listening to you guys so I gave it a shot, but you people want to be disgusting ingrates. HOYOVERSE GAVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU WANTED, ADMIT IT! The literal ONLY reason you were unhappy about it was because it came after Fontaine, trust me if they released Natlan BEFORE Fontaine we never would've had this problem. Escoffier is absolutely no different from Chasca but you like her because of where she's from, surprisingly racist when it's a FUCKING VIDEO GAME. Trust me now when Nod Krai releases none of you are going to be pleased and it may just destroy Genshin because you're no longer gonna get the Nod Krai you wished for, you will be getting whatever they changed it to after Natlan feedback. Have you all not realized yet that you're basically treating Hoyoverse how Fontaine people treated Furina, she couldn't be herself because it's not what Fontaine expected of a god, and Hoyoverse cannot give what was promised to people who don't see "good enough quality". You are all entitled and as you all suffer through the karma that's due to you I hope the players who have stayed loyal, the VAs who have suffered and Jacob Takanashi(I apologize if I spelled it wrong) WHO IS DOING AN INCREDIBLE JOB, can all enjoy Nod Krai and whatever comes next, as for the rest of you....go move over to ZZZ where you're welcome and very obviously belong.

Now for Escoffier, as for her design I'm not pleased and it genuinely feels poor quality and like an OC and not a genuine character, but as for her elemental powers I am very disappointed in the change from Pyro to Cryo, we don't need more Cryo characters in the game, and I will not be supporting her banner for the foreseeable future as a means to support Natlan characters especially Chasca who were passed over for the exact same reason. I was genuinely so excited for her and she is such a let down so I will purposely not be supporting her as a means of fighting against the players who are essentially using her as a weapon to further harass the Natlan characters, team and fans.
