Damien permanecía de pie en una esquina del salón principal, con una copa en la mano que apenas había tocado. Sus ojos recorrían el lugar, observando cómo las conversaciones se volvían más discretas, los gestos más calculados. Después de todo lo que se había expuesto esa noche, no quedaba más que silencio disfrazado de cortesía. Cuando notó la presencia del joven acercándose, desvió la mirada hacia él, con una expresión que oscilaba entre la cautela y el cansancio. "supongo que ya no hay tal cosa como 'seguridad' en este círculo," murmuró, moviendo la copa en su mano con desgano. "cada familia tiene esqueletos en su armario... pero quién iba a pensar que los sacarían todos de golpe." le dedicó una mirada más larga, como si evaluara cuánto sabía o qué tanto estaba dispuesto a admitir. "¿y tú?" preguntó con un deje de curiosidad afilada. "¿eres de los que fingen sorpresa o de los que ya lo veían venir?"

La luz tenue de la sala de juegos proyectaba sombras largas sobre la mesa de billar, donde el verde gastado del tapiz contrastaba con el resplandor iridiscente de su vestido. Hedda dejó que la yema de sus dedos resbalara por el borde de madera pulida, una caricia distraída, más para mantener sus manos ocupadas que por auténtico interés. El aire olía a whisky añejo y tabaco caro, impregnado de murmullos distantes que no le importaban. No se había refugiado allí por capricho, sino porque necesitaba aire, espacio, algo que no le recordara que cada par de ojos en la gala la había desnudado con su juicio silencioso. Un sonido, pasos amortiguados contra la alfombra, interrumpió su aislamiento. No se giró de inmediato. No tenía interés en compartir el encierro con nadie, pero tampoco tenía energía para dejarlo en claro. "si buscas compañía, prueba en otra mesa" su voz cortó el aire como el filo de una copa rota, suave pero peligrosa. Cogió un taco de billar, como si de verdad fuera a jugar, pero en realidad solo quería aferrarse a algo que no fuera su propio enojo. La madera se sentía sólida en su mano, más real que todo lo demás esa noche.

Random hc list time go:

Will is Chinese-Mexican! He knows English, Cantonese, Spanish, and also ASL (which is unrelated). He's big on learning different languages for his medic stuff.

"Solace" is Naomi's stage name that she legally changed to. It's Will's legal surname, but it isn't Naomi's original surname. She jokes it's her married name.

Will grew up with his grandma taking care of him whenever Naomi was on tour. They're very close and love each other very much <3 Grandma Tsang is very proud of her daughter and grandson.

She's also fully aware that Will is a demigod (and is very grateful that he decided to be a medic instead of go on quests all the time). She thinks his healing and sun powers are neat and very practical. The sound powers... sure were something when Will was a baby. (Will does not tell her about the plague powers) (she knows and is mostly just wondering why he hasn't cured one billion diseases yet.)

Will takes after his grandma - they're a similar height and body type. Naomi takes more after her dad (Will's abuelo).

When he says he's from Austin he means he's from around Travis/Caldwell County. After his mom got famous she moved outside the city and got a little ranch. They have a couple of animals but not a ton, since Naomi is out so much, Grandma is getting old, and ever since Will moved to New York they don't have as many hands around the house to help with them.

Will is a big fan of snakes and rodents and had pet rats and a boa growing up, among the other numerous animals. He'd love to get a snake again but other Apollo kids tend to be scared of them.

The animals are how Will initially got interested in being a medic and started honing his powers. He originally wanted to be a veterinarian when he was little. He will still take helping a horse give birth over a nymph giving birth any day.

Naomi and Will have matching sun tattoos to honor Apollo and also each other <3

Naomi is openly queer herself and advocates about it a lot. Will picked up a lot of that from her and runs the GSA at camp and other pride events. Will is also trans and his family is very supportive and helped him socially transition before he went to CHB.

They also both know Will has a boyfriend and keep asking when he's gonna bring the boy home. Obligatory family pestering <3
