Which modern professions would each character mostly end up with? (beside family/house legacy...business) :D

Aegon: something that gives him flexibility to move on if he gets bored. Definitely not something that requires him to sit at a desk all day. I can see him trying a variety of things, like night club DJ and standup comedian. Whatever pays for his room and board until he flits off to the next thing that catches his eye. When he eventually settles down, he gets into coaching youth sports and yells at everyone who isn’t Cheeseball.

Jace: She would 100% be the breadwinner between her and Aegon. Even without a nepo cushion, she would do well climbing up the corporate ladder somewhere. But she’s too nice, so she probably tops out at management or director level; she doesn’t get to the C-suite. She probably does marketing.

Aemond: Consulting. What kind of consulting? IDK, but he gets paid a ton of money to tell people they’re idiots.

Luce: Accountant. Also runs an Etsy shop.

Daeron: He goes to law school because he wants to help people, but he ends up getting stuck at a giant law firm that represents oil and tobacco companies. Eventually he quits and goes into public service.

Joff: She has a PhD in a very niche but desirable field, so she ends up in a cushy professor position at a top university. Her teaching requirement is minimal, she’s mostly there for research.

Helaena: Entomologist is too easy of an answer. She would enjoy a very solo kind of job, like archivist or coder, which allows her to mostly do stuff on her own without needing to deal with people.

Baela: Like Aegon, she cannot do a desk job. Maybe being a bodyguard for female celebrities so she gets an excuse to knock guys onto their butts.

Rhaena: A people-oriented job (so the opposite of Helaena) with a big organizational component. Probably event planning, or even wedding planning. She’d be great at dealing with bridezillas.

Fun question for Sonamy Fans!

Why do you personally ship, like, or appreciate Sonamy? What got you into Sonamy? What’s your favorite moment between the two?

I’ll start.

One reason I ship them is because of how subtle they are about their platonic romance. I also think pink and blue looks nice together in general.

A bunch of amazing fan art, comic dubs, and fan animations got me into the ship. But once I started seeing the signs myself in official art, shows, games, etc it was ALL over for me.

I have too many moments I LOVE between the hedgies, but I will say this one moment from IDW had me squealing.

I suspect the real person might have. So would Alexander! But my Hephaistion most certainly would!!!!

That said, I will add that Excel spreadsheets are largely a mystery to me personally. I rarely use them unless foisted upon me. I’m still an analog girl and will happily make my little tables and charts by hand, thank you. And a second review makes me wonder if Hephaistion might as well. I think he’d have a love-disdain relationship with calculators. He can do that shit on his fingers. But maybe not the higher math functions, so…

Amazing question. I’m going to presume this is for a modern AU.

Aegon: trespassing during one of his detective missions. Also stealing, but it wasn’t intentional. He just picked up a cool tchotchke and forgot he was carrying it.

Jace: running a stop sign while she was stressed. She turns herself in. The police try to tell her this isn’t arrest-worthy, but she doesn’t believe them.

Aemond: beating up Clement Celtigar for trying to publish AI-generated photos of Luce.

Luce: beating up Clement Celtigar for trying to publish AI-generated photos of her.

Daeron: gullibly accepted “headache meds” from a friend while studying for final exams, gets woken up by a campus security guard who found him naked on the campus quad at 5:30 AM.

Joff: planting a toxic substance in food intended for Daeron’s friend who gave him “headache meds.”

Baela: street-racing and crashing. Nobody was harmed, but the car was totaled. It was Daemon’s prized sports car. He doesn’t pay her bail.

Rhaena: conspiracy. Conspiracy for what, I’m not sure yet, but that girl is sneakier than she appears.

Not sure if you intended to exclude Helaena because Helaena’s too innocent to be arrested. 😂 If I had to put something down for her, it’d be for suddenly appearing at people’s bedroom windows at night so she can shout ominous predictions at them.

not an anon but would love to know what inspires u for ur microfics? i love hearing about the creative process of others !! <33 sending u a hug

This is such a good question and honestly so hard for me to answer because my process is all over the place so I’m going to ramble about it a little bit…

First thing I’ll say, is that I probably spend too much time on one microfic. I only do one a day, but I spend so much time thinking about it. Mainly because I look at the prompt word in the morning, then let it sort of bounce around my brain all day and I don’t sit down to write the fic until the end of the day. But I have a lot of fun doing that because I’m not lying when I say I have Regulus/Jegulus on my mind all the time, so it kind of works for me.     

The first thing I do with the prompt is try to think of all the different uses of the word and not just the first thing that comes to my mind.  

A personal challenge that I have set for myself is to try and make the whole fic about the word. (Hair was all about James’ hair. Dark was about being afraid of the dark, etc.) I would say this only happens maybe 60% of the time. But that’s always the first thing I try to think about.

After that I usually think of a few different sentences or phrases using the word and see which one I can build a fic around. One of the first things I like to figure out is what stage of their relationship they’re in; pining, flirting, getting together, established, married, etc. And I try to spread these out; I don’t like to do four back-to-back domestic fluff or too many teen angst, etc. in a row.

From there, I just let the word and/or the phrases bound around my brain until something sticks.

Sometimes I have a fic idea, and I make the word fit into it, or I have an idea rotting my brain and I wait until the perfect word comes along.

Sometimes I overthink it and I end up saying the word over and over in my head until it doesn’t even sound like a word. Then I can’t think of absolutely any way I want to use it, and I get really frustrated and I end up putting it in a random sentence that usually doesn’t make sense and it’s obvious I forced the word in there just to use the word.

Something that has happened so so many times is as soon as I read the word, a song will instantly pop into my head and then I can’t think of anything else. Those days take me a really long time because I just keep singing the song. I was this 🤏 close to having James catch Reg singing ‘Respect’ in the kitchen because I couldn’t get the song out of my head.   

I think this is probably a lot more thought going into a microfics than is needed, and I’ve giving myself some personal challenges that make it even harder. But I have a lot of fun doing it this way. Plus, I still consider myself a new-ish writer and I know I write really slow, so having a process just make my brain work better. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway, yea. I find myself saying “bless you” or “excuse me” or “oops sorry!” To my pets all the time. It’s just instinct really!
