So this is scary Day #13: Handstand of the #yogaflowemoji challenge with @lynnieluve. I dreaded this day and I was anxious to say the least. I looked up all kinds of how-to's on handstands and settled on the fact that this takes time plus I have to get over my apprehension at being upside down. I included a pic of myself standing there thinking about the pose, because that's what I did the longest. LOL. In the middle pic, I used the wall to steady myself, then removed my feet which lasted a grand total of 3 seconds. 💩 Then I tried the method of walking up the wall facing away, then pushed off the wall which I held for 2 seconds, followed by crashing to the ground. 😂. With most exercises, you're pulling (or pushing) against gravity. Using the cross cable machine can allow you to change that as well as the angle of pull. This creates more #instability and depending on the angle, can also change the difficulty of the exercise. Denise here is performing a #deadlift from a high anchor on the cables. She has to #stabilize anteriorly so the weights don't "pull me through the wall" (her words). Throughout this movement, drive the hips forward and squeeze the glutes.
