I found these in a list of my old AU story ideas (there is SO much G/t in these notes lol I just never got around to writing them. Free for use, for original stories, fanworks, or otherwise!):

Cinderella-esque story but it’s a borrower who shrinks back at midnight

G/t AU where tiny Character A has or gains powers that make them bigger, but it’s hard to hang onto that form. (They get in deeper than they meant to and now have to hide it from their new big friends…whether those friends are actually aware of this shifting or not.)

Based off the previous one, but it’s a different size dynamic. Character A is human-sized (or a giant) already and gets smaller to hang out with smaller new friends.

Tiny (who probably was not always tiny) trapped in an object due to a curse. A necklace, lantern, crystal ball, etc. you could also go “2D” with it (trapped in a book or mirror) but this kind of loses the tangible G/t aspect for me.

MORE ON HUMAN PARENTS FOR BORROWERS: ANGST EDITION

First off, how did a human get possession of a borrower child? are borrowers known of in this world, and it's an adoption situation?

In that case, what is the borrower foster system like? What led to them entering the system? Maybe by the time they are adopted they have an inherent terror of humans- requiring lots of patience and space.

Is there schools for borrowers? Are they as good and funded as human schools? If not, you've got to homeschool now. Or, if schools are mixed, now you've got to deal with your kid facing even worse bullies.

Does your family accept them? Do people look down on your kid, viewing them not as capable as humans? (Almost how people view special needs kids). How do you explain to your kid that the world isn't accessible to them? That they can't do all the things that their friends can do: go to the beach, ride bikes in the streets, go to the mall, or even parks.

Are there support groups for parents of borrowers? How do you take them to the doctor, or do they have to go to a vet instead (plus the dehumanization that comes with that)

Maybe borrower rights aren't the same in every country- having to explain to your child how they are seen or treated in other countries. Having to expose them to that unfairness. Your heart breaking as their expression crumbles, as they understand that reality.

Or maybe borrowers *arent* discovered. Maybe you thought you had a nice infestation and brought an exterminator. Maybe you accidentally killed the parents with a trap. But all of the sudden not only do you discover there's tiny people, but all of the sudden you're saddled with a tiny *child*, and with the guilt that you're the reason they don't have parents.

You need to learn to cook for them. Doll clothes don't fit them, so you need to learn how to sew. Plus, the fact that this completely tiny child is absolutely terrified of you. Do they blame you for the death of their parents? Do they even understand it? Maybe you hide it from them, let them believe their parents died some other way to try and avoiding the plaguing guilt, as well as the child's anger and fear of you.

You have to make sure all holes are closed, they might hurt themselves in the walls. You set up things to help them get around, but you're still so *terrified* with every step- children have no sense of danger, after all.

What if they get sick? You can't exactly take them to a vet or a doctor, they'd probably be sent to some government lab. You can't give them medicine, any issue with dosage could be fatal. That fear of not knowing if your child is going to be okay.

You can't introduce your child to anyone- who knows who they'll tell, and you can't risk endangering them. You watch as your kid struggles socially, you as their only human interaction. Maybe they're annoyingly needy, and you struggle with being patient with them.

What situations would arise if they were to encounter other borrowers? What if they wanted to join them, and *leave* you? What if you wouldn't let them. (I'm almost envisioning Pixar's Bao short with this)

Do you know what's even better than parental g/t? Angst in parental g/t.

Imagine that, a giant adopts a tiny child when they're a baby. The kid was raised by their giant their whole life - they never feared their parent and couldn't understand why other kids that did.

But the kid grows up to be a teen. We all know what teens are like: they argue with their parents, don't obey, say the most outrageous and mean stuff.

The giant parent was always patient with their tiny teen, but they slowly start to loose their cool.

One day the giant parent and the tiny teen have a huge argument. The teen says something so harmful to their parent that they completely loose their cool.

The giant grabs their kid and yells at them, while holding them in a tight grip.

It's the first time the tiny teenager saw their parent so mad. The giant was freaking terrifying.

The teen starts crying and apologizing and begging for their parent not to hurt them.

That's when the parent realizes how much they have screwed up.

Mir's doing the equivalent of picking fights with ants... But there's reason for it, all related to the world setting and lore. And there's even more reason for him insisting on fighting with Atula specifically (once he's "trained" her to meet his "standards" ofc).

Him not being very ... self-aware doesn't help.

But overall: Man desperately needs a hobby.

Being loomed over. Receiving little flirty comments from someone a hundred times your size. Your difference in size and power is nearly indescribable - you can barely comprehend how large they must be even as you look at them. Their voice comes out as a low rumble, their body moving slower than normal due to the dilation of time caused by their size (or, perhaps, your size), and as their hand reaches down towards you impossibly slowly, you still cant escape it, in all of its vastness. A finger taller than you are poking you in the stomach and causing you to nearly topple over. The larger is on another plane of existence, in a way. But as they look down at you with such infatuation, regardless of your survival instinct telling you to run, your pounding heart, and your trembling form, you feel oddly safe. Its nice to be doted on a little. To be observed by eyes larger than your torso. To be treated gently by something that could crush you like a bug. To be loved by something beyond comprehension. Erm. Yeah.

HUMAN PARENTS WITH BORROWER KIDS

Their kid keeps finding and bringing back bugs HOLY SHIT-

There's even tinier and sharper toys laying around for unsuspecting parents to step on (and you thought legos were bad)

Speaking of legos, legos or dollhouse palaces and play structures for your kid

Your kid is also using you as a jungle gym and has no sense of fear and HOLY SHIT JUST YELLS "CATCH ME" BEFORE DIVING OFF THE COUNTER AND GIVING YOU A HEART ATTACK

They're so small you can hold them in your hands, cradling your whole precious world

THE UNCONVENTIONAL CUDDLING POSES

you can carry them everywhere, or build ladders so they can get around! Just watch your step, of course

A baby monitor of sorts in case they need help?

You can build them a room out a dresser; with different layers and ladders- it's almost like their own building-

Cooking both big and small portions

Your kid wants to cook with you so you have them ratatouille you

And oh my gosh the angst potientals (let me know if you're interested and I will go in DETAIL I have thought about this EXTENSIVELY)
