Cotter's not conventionally attractive - meaning that while he might not be what most people might consider attractive, there's still people who would think he's attractive. Case in point, Gared thinks Cotter is quite handsome, and had they had the chance to meet him, Rodrik & Asher would have agreed.

When the wights crumbled, Gared knew it was almost time to head south. To Ironrath. The threat was over, the North Grove no longer required protection. He needed to know if House Forrester survived.

But seeing Jon again was not part of the plan.

"Ser Gared the Gallant," Cotter mused, watching the flames consume the branch thrown into the fire.

Gared, still holding some of the kindling in his arms, looked over at Cotter with a snort of laughter. "Come again?"

"It sounded better in my head," Cotter dismissed, looking away. "I was thinking about that time you mentioned that you were going to be promoted from a squire. And what your title would be."

"I don't think I'll be getting promoted after desertion," Gared admitted with a frown.

"Oh. Right," Cotter sighed briefly, but looked back at Gared with a smile. "... I still think it suits you, though."

"Thank you..." Gared paused to throw another branch onto the fire, before turning to Cotter with a grin. "... Ser Cotter the Charming."
