So a question for vegans, vegetarians or people who know about the subject:
Do you guys swear off anything that uses fossil fuels since they used to be alive or is it fine because you’re not eating them?
Like separate from climate change and such, are fossil fuels vegan/ vegetarian?

So, The Child didn't know what/who Gritty was (yes, failure as a parent, I know)
I opened the Wikipedia page on NHL mascots, and was surprised to find that there are two sabertooth cat mascots?
Not caring about hockey, but living in the Nashville Metro area, I knew about the Nashville Predators mascot, so I only just learned that the Buffalo Sabers also use a sabertooth tiger (or, honestly, that the Buffalo Sabers even exist)
The aesthetic choices are distinct

i wonder if theres some kind of evolutionary advantage that little electric rodents have that makes them pop up in every region. are they just an integral part of the ecosystem? did they evolve independently or are they all descendants of the same ancestor?
sure you could be Lazy & say "uhh all the pikaclones are just gamefreak trying to recapture the success of pikachu until it just became tradition" but that is boring & does not answer my question. unless gamefreak is an in-universe company genetically engineering new electric rodents, but even then i still think the concept of long-term Evolution in pokemon is more interesting (do they call it smth else? "evolving" in the pokemon world happens in mere seconds it seems, so how would they describe the kind of change that takes place over many many years?)

have you seen ticinoteuthis chuchichäschtli the tintenfischart
Tumblr media
«Zuerst haben wir uns überlegt, die Art nach einem Kollegen zu benennen», sagte Christian Klug vom Paläontologischen Institut der UZH gegenüber der Nachrichtenagentur Keystone-SDA. «Aber das Fossil ist so unansehnlich, dass wir das niemandem antun wollten.» Stattdessen tauften sie den Tintenfisch deshalb auf den Namen «Ticinoteuthis chuchichaeschtli».
