The gifts for 2024 are 100 ml fragrance sprays. These are not perfumes, they are more like room sprays. According to Yana, they worked with professional perfumers and the fragrances were formulated with each character's "image" in mind! These each come with a unique bottle label, plus a ribbon and a little wooden charm with a matching character motif on it. You can soak the wooden charm with the fragrance and use it to diffuse the smell through a room.

Preorders are open until 10 March 2024.

(Warning: in the case that these contain alcohol, it will not be possible to send the fragrances overseas due to shipping regulations against flammable materials. The paper goods—the 2024 Valentine Gift messages—will still be able to be sent out.)

Each character has their own unique scent. The following are summaries of what each spray smells like overall (according to official posts), but each also has its own more detailed descriptions of the top, middle, and base notes on their individual website postings.

Apparently, fatty aldehydes smell like fresh citrus but I believe the literally translated term is “fatty aldehyde”; not sure why it was worded like this. There are many forms of aldehyde and each smells different. For example, one form smells closer to a rose. Another supposedly smells like rancid butter 💀

Rafayel: -His cologne is Tom Ford "Soleil Blanc" - “a floral amber scent that evokes remote private islands where summer lasts all year. Alive with seductive cardamom and refreshingly decadent ylang ylang, Soleil Blanc unapologetically exudes the endless pursuit of sun and luxury.” -We’re basically going for with a lighter scent, with some floral notes and a touch of the ocean -Likes to use scented lotion too, even if it’s yours, and will ask you if you think he smells pretty every time he does -It could be the length of his hair or the way it curls at the ends, but it holds product for so long and you can smell his shampoo every morning when you wake up together -It takes all of your strength not to stick your nose in his hair and inhale, because he definitely teased you about it the first time you tried

She grew up with both of her parents in her life but they could never be around as much as they wanted to be. Her parents were highschool sweethearts who dropped out once they became pregnant with her. Audra is the oldest of 5 kids but she always felt like the actual parent of her household. Regardless of how exhausted she was every day she had very good grades in school and was always praised by her teachers. She always wanted to go to parent teacher conferences as a kid to show off to her parents but they never had time. 

She got into college on a scholarship and was planning on getting a degree in business. She was the one who managed her family’s money and all the bills. She hoped those skills that were forced on her could actually get her somewhere in life. 

Audra worked a part time job as a waitress to help her family while she was gone. She found out from her younger brother Theodore that her parents were using the money to gamble. He didn’t want to tell her at first but he found an electricity shut off notice and was scared so he ran to the only person he knew he could trust.

She ended up dropping out of school because she was working too many hours to try and keep up with her parents spending and began failing all her classes. Losing her one chance at changing her life was the final nail in the coffin for Audra. She realized she couldn’t take care of her parents anymore and instead she needed to take care of herself since no one else ever would. She refused to move back in with her parents or give them another cent, once she told her parents that her mother slapped her across the face. That was the last time she ever saw her family.

After shoving her family into her past she did whatever she wanted, she spent her money however, slept with whoever she wanted, went to clubs, made friends, and had fun. For once in her life she was finally free, until she wasn’t.

The day she was turned she woke up in an alley with the stars lighting the sky. She was thrown into a corner, faced down like a piece of trash. She doesn’t remember much from the beginnings of her hunger besides their screams. 

After every feeding it was like she became conscious again, the world became clear, and the screams of her victims would echo through her mind. She remembered the crunch of their bones as she gripped their throat. She remembered the blood sliding down her throat and warming her belly.  She was a monster. She needed to die but she deserved a chance at living more.

She would prowl clubs, bars, casinos, anywhere with pathetic little people who would give up a little blood for a fun time. She would pick up the most desperate person she could find and take them up to a room she made sure they paid for. She would seduce them, fuck them, and then drain just enough blood so she wouldn’t kill them, rob them of everything they had in their pockets, and then kick them out. 

She met a woman named Leona at a casino bar, but Leona was different; her eyes weren’t glazed over like every other addict ruining their lives in her vicinity. She wasn’t oozing with desperation and helplessly trying to hide a wedding ring Audra would just steal anyways. Leona was alluring, her eyes blazed a fire over every inch of Audra’s skin, her plump red lips had a confident smirk like she knew all she would have to do is wave her hand and Audra would crawl right into her lap. 

Audra didn’t fuck Leona, Leona dominated her. She consumed every bit of her, and Audra was happy to give herself up on a platter. The moment the bite came Audra couldn’t stop herself from drinking her dry. Leona’s blood was intoxicating like nothing she had ever tasted before. She was watching the life drain from Leona fast, she was shaky and pale, but she didn’t pull away from her. Instead, her eyes rolled up into her skull and she was desperately pulling Audra closer to her like she was urging her to suck even more. It was like they were stars hurtling towards earth together ready to destroy anything in their path. Leona was special and Audra knew she would never be able to let her go. 

All of her clothes are stolen or bought from stolen credit cards from rich assholes she fucked. She would specially steal from dickheads who had pictures of their families hiding inside their wallets. 

She thought being a vampire could at least give her cool powers like telekinesis or mind control but all she got was a thirst for blood and to look desperately anemic. 

She loved dying her hair as a kid to every cheap hair dye color she could get her hands on. Since turning her hair no longer grows so she buys wigs now whenever she wants to changer her hair.

Scent Headcanon (with Reccs)

•Liu is a fairly simple smelling guy, he keeps things masculine but more on the youthful cool side. Personally i can see him having a very cedar smell with hints of spice to it. A bit smokey but nothing overpowering

•Otherwise i feel he gives off a very cinnamon and vanilla smell, sweet yet spicy in a way thats comforting like fresh baked goods.

•If not baked goods i also can see him having a more masculine floral smell to him that would be more on the lines of calming and level headed

(DISCLAIMER PLEASE DO NOT GO MIXING THESE PERFUMES/COLOGNES AS I SAY IN EVERY POST I AM A LOVER OF DIFFERENT PERFUMES/COLOGNES NOT A PROFESSIONAL!)

I found a few different colognes that i feel suit Liu best (which you’ll see also influence’s how i feel Jeff smells as i will address that extra headcanon in Jeff’s post tomorrow) more so with the woodsy yet spiced smell

-Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Cobalt (Woody Spice with Pink Pepper, Geranium and Cedarwood)

-Versace Eros Energy (Cool Spices with Italian Bergamot, White Amber, Musk)

I feel if Liu had to pick he’d likely wear the Bad Boy Cobalt, though both of these suit him quite well it reminded me more of him. The spiced way they smell yet that its not completely overpowering or headache inducing suits his character a lot more.

Overall, i think soap wise he would use more vanilla scents, something thats soft and not too crazy but namely he uses whatever the most convenient and best smelling he can get is. I also headcanon he uses soaps made for sensitive skin so it would be vanilla/oatmeal scented to keep from getting much irritation when using it!

I’m sorry this one isnt nearly as long as my others! I hope regardless you enjoy it and share your opinions on it! Now my favorite part….. My drawing! I have never drawn Liu before so its not super accurate, but i hope you all enjoy it nonetheless! Hello! Do you have any tips for a scent layering routine and how to always smell clean and fresh? Thank you!

Hi love! Sharing some tips below. Hope these help xx

Scent Layering Tips:

Remember your routine starts in the shower. Use fragrance-free body wash/lotion if you want to ensure they don't mix with any perfume/fragrance mists. Otherwise, test to see whether your favorite scented body wash/lotions complement each other/work together to create your desired scent.

Apply scents from the heaviest to the lightest. Apply your heady perfumes (musky, deeper, spicier, and richer-smelling scents) before your lighter fragrances (brighter floral or citrus scents). Typically, bolder perfume scents have more dynamic and/or deeper base notes (the notes that last on the skin for the longest skin [4-6 hours -once the perfume has "dried down"]. Popular base notes include vanilla, oud, musk, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood) and can have common heart notes [actualize around 20-60 minutes after spraying the perfume after the top notes, or initial scent, starts to fade]. Some common heart/middle perfume notes include jasmine, rose, cinnamon, geranium, lavender, black pepper, pine, and lemongrass.

When in doubt, layer two perfumes (and/or scented body products) with the same/overlapping base and/or heart notes. Think a vanilla-scented body lotion with a vanilla-based perfume or scents with vanilla-jasmine notes like Valentino Donna Born in Roma EDP layered with Versace Crystal Noir.

Don't layer two heavy scents together. Think of scents like Tom Ford Black Orchid and Mugler Alien paired together. When combined the smell can be overwhelming and give you a headache. Huda Beauty created a great fragrance scent layering guide (in the hyperlink).

How To Smell Fresh All Day Long:

Shower daily with soap and water under your arms, behind, and on the bikini area (only use water on the inside/your vulva)

Moisturize your skin daily (body hands, face)

Brush your teeth twice a day. Floss at least once a day. Keep a disposable toothbrush or at least some breath mints handy for use throughout the day if needed

Apply an antiperspirant deodorant every morning/before any activity where you think you'll be sweating. Carry around a mini one in your work bag or if you have room for one in your purse if out for several hours at a time on a hot day

Have feminine hygiene wipes and wet wipes on hand to cleanse the downstairs regions as needed

Keep some cleansing wipes/spray to refresh your body/face if you're in a hot/humid climate or are prone to sweating (I like the Pacifica Coconut Milk & Essential Oils Underarm Deodorant Wipes and Evian Facial Spray to freshen up throughout the day)

Change any liners/pads/tampons every 3-4 hours when not asleep

Wear underwear with a cotton gusset daily (lingerie is the exception)

Change your underwear and socks throughout the day

Ensure you're washing your towels and pillowcases at least once a week

Choose breathable fabrics (linen, bamboo, cotton, Tencel, silk, merino wool) in the hot/humid weather or if you're worried about sweating

Keep a rollerball of your go-to perfume to freshen up on your pulse points if needed throughout the day/night

Chapter 62 - The Open Door

Chapter Summary: Church returns to the Material Plane, but a certain someone won't be leaving without a fight. Back where they are meant to be, Astarion and Church steal a moment to be alive together.

It isn’t until a fussing Alfira leaves them alone to bathe that Church realizes that he has been holding the elf’s hand in a vice-like grip the whole time.

“Sorry,” he mumbles as he releases him. Astarion grimaces, flexing his hand.

“I’m not going to float away,” he chides him half-heartedly.

Still, Church can’t help but feel a little anxious as Astarion disappears behind the screen. He almost wants to follow him out of a need to stay as close as possible. But he instead forces himself to focus on the task at hand. He departs for his own tub, stripping off his filthy, torn robes and easing into the hot water Alfira and Lakrissa had prepared for them. He splashes it onto his grimy face, running his fingers over the scaled skin at his temples all the way down to his chin to make sure the scarring really is gone. He then gropes for a small, cracked mirror nearby to check if his eyes match again.

They’re both bright and yellow — as they should be.

He uses the geranium soap that Alfira had left for him. It smells like her hair, and it’s a comfort in itself.

Astarion makes no noise except for the sloshing of water and an occasional sigh. But just knowing that he’s there, even if out of sight, is enough of a comfort for Church. 

And then it’s a relief to see him again when Church has dried off and pulled on clean clothes. As he watches the elf gingerly coiffe his damp hair into place, Church wonders if Astarion’s fingers still sting with phantom pain. He wonders if his body still aches with a gnawing hunger even after draining the tiefling dry. 

He wonders…

“Do you want to be alone?” Church asks Astarion in a hush. After an emotionally-exhausting debrief with their companions, Church is relieved that they were generous enough to leave the two of them some space for themselves. 

Astarion's face is wan as he appraises the tiefling. Despite everything that happened during the day that passed in their own time, Church wonders if the elf is still resentful of what he saw with Gale. Maybe they’re right back where they started. 

“I’d understand if you want to be alone,” Church assures him hastily. “You've had quite enough of me in the Shadowfell, after all. And we haven’t had a chance to really… talk…”

He trails off and flushes as Astarion strides over to him, his expression unreadable. The elf doesn’t slow down as he spreads his palm upon the tiefling’s chest, pushing him firmly, irresistibly back into his tent. 

His teasing laugh tastes sweet upon his lips.

Church grunts as Astarion practically collapses on top of him, the momentum of their kiss dizzying as the elf takes him into his arms. His fingers claw through the tiefling’s damp hair and clothing, and his eyes are half-lidded as he breathes him in. 

“It’s alright,” Church finds himself assuring Astarion as the elf groans into his neck. As he mouths at his skin, the tiefling nearly jolts at the memory of fangs ripping into his throat, but he manages to recover before Astarion seems to notice.

What scares him now is the elf’s desperate, heavy touch. Church’s body is too exhausted to react in the way it normally would, thank goodness, but he needs Astarion here in the present, not dissociating beneath a mask of desire…

“Take off your clothes,” Astarion begs him, and Church’s hazy mind clears at once.

“...what?” he frowns. “Love, we need to rest, I…”

“No, not for that, I…” Astarion stammers, looking at Church with pleading eyes. “...I need to feel your skin on mine. That’s all.”

Church gawks for a moment at him. And then he nods, slowly tugging at the ties upon his own shirt. “That’s all?”

“That’s all,” Astarion repeats, fumbling for his own belt.

Feeling self-conscious, Church sheds his shirt, noting how Astarion’s gaze roams over every inch of exposed flesh. But he doesn’t wear that salacious smile he has donned before during their moments together. Instead, his eyes are hungry in a way that almost gives Church pause again. 

“You can tell me to stop,” Church murmurs.

“So can you,” Astarion replies.

“Alright.”

Church tosses his shirt aside and gasps as Astarion immediately drops down to him, pressing his cool palms against the planes and ridges of his torso. Eventually, Astarion settles his ear against Church’s chest, closing his eyes as he listens to his heartbeat.

“Still works,” Church reassures him.

“What a lovely sound,” Astarion mumbles to himself, and he reluctantly pulls away to shuck his shirt off in turn. It’s comforting to see the spawn’s body restored — his ribs far less pronounced beneath his musculature. 

“Well don’t just lie there,” Astarion grumbles, slapping the tiefling’s hand upon his own chest. “Touch.”

Church happily obeys, wrapping his arms around the elf’s back as he presses his face to his chest. In the silence of their tent, he can make out his companion’s barely-perceptible heartbeat. Astarion doesn’t smell much like his perfume oil or soap now, but it’s still him beneath the geranium soap. 

All the while, Astarion’s arms and hands drift down Church’s back, dancing over every ridge of his spine and the curves of his vestigial wings. His hands move further down, resting with a question upon Church’s hips. 

“Yes please,” Church encourages him. 

Astarion smiles, and slowly he maneuvers the tiefling’s trousers down over the swell of his ass, his hands indulgently cupping the flesh there with a pleased hum. He then shimmies backwards to pull the trousers further down, and Church takes over with a laugh, kicking them off as Astarion surges back to kiss him again. The elf encircles his hand around the tiefling’s tail, stroking lazily along it and winding it around his arm with each pass. 

Church smooths his hands along the gentle curve of Astarion’s back. As he hooks his thumbs into his waistband, Astarion wriggles forth, shedding the rest of his clothes as he devours Church with another kiss. 

With no more pesky layers between them, their naked limbs intertwine completely — skin flush as Astarion presses Church back down against his spread bedroll. 

Church closes his eyes as Astarion nuzzles into his hair, his neck… and then down to his clavicle, sternum, navel, and —

“—ah,” Church shudders as he feels the elf’s curls tickle the inside of his hip bones, his nose pressing into his skin. “I… I don’t mind this, I just don’t think I can…”

Despite reveling in his touch, his exhausted body is the furthest away from aroused. It’s for the best, really, because despite Astarion’s nose practically nuzzling into his groin, he doesn’t seem to bother with any of his usual ministrations. He rather appears to be savoring Church with all his senses, his eyes closed as he breathes in against his warm skin. Astarion greedily runs his hands along his companion’s body, kneading them into the knots of muscle atop sore bones. 

Church is content to hold him as he explores. He sighs as aches and pains meet the pressure of the elf’s fingers. He holds Astarion loosely —

— and then he’s clinging for dear life, yelping as Astarion rolls them over to pull Church on top of him. 

After a burst of exhausted, sheepish giggles, Church finally relaxes, resting his head fully against Astarion’s chest as he curls into a warm, reassuring weight. Astarion seems to revel in it, continuing to stroke Church from the base of his horns all the way down to the tip of his tail in long, languid stripes. 

As they are both very naked and very close, it doesn’t come as a surprise that the elf’s length begins to thicken and fill reflexively as it presses against Church’s thigh. But Astarion makes no comment on it, and neither does Church.

Instead, before either of them knows it, Church falls asleep upon Astarion’s chest. He hardly stirs as a wool blanket drifts gently down over both of their bodies.

It’s a pity, really, for if Church were conscious, he would have noticed that Astarion was still stuck beneath him. Consequently, the blanket was draped by none other than a mage hand —

— the first one Astarion had cast in centuries.

After a long, stressful day, a warm shower can be very relaxing. But to add another dimension of relaxation and health to your shower, try a shower steamer tablet. These tablets are infused with essential oils and other natural ingredients to offer a spa-like experience that can promote relaxation, clear congestion, and even improve mood and sleep quality.

While some of these tablets can be expensive, it is something you can make right at home reasonably. You can even make them as gifts for family and friends! Try throwing a few in a little basket with a candle for a wonderful, thoughtful present for someone you love!

Check out the recipe below to learn how to make steamer tablets and which oils will help you turn your shower into a tranquil oasis. I’ve tried other recipes, (there’s lots on the internet including ones using mostly all baking soda and baking it) but I prefer this one as it makes a sturdier tablet. 

When using your shower steamers, I recommend setting the tablet in the shower outside of the direct stream of water. This allows them to dissolve slower and extends the calming, aromatic experience. I usually put mine in the far corner of the shower where water will hit it slightly but not pour down on it and completely dissolve it too quickly. 

You can make shower steamers with a blend of essential oils or just one oil at a time. Get creative!

DIY SHOWER VAPOR DISKS RECIPE

You will need:

1/2 cup Baking Soda

1/4 cup Citric Acid (I purchased a large bag online)

2 tablespoons Corn Starch

Essential oils (see recipes above)

Witch hazel (& small plastic spray bottle)

Soap colorant (Optional – I got my blue color at Michaels, but I often leave them natural/white)

Mixing bowl

Measuring cups

Silicone mold (I have flowers and hearts) or muffin tin with paper liners

Gloves

STEP 1: Measure and mix dry ingredients in your bowl — 1/2 Cup Baking Soda, 1/4 Cup Citric Acid, 2 Tablespoons Corn Starch. I use my gloved hands to mix the ingredients and get rid of any clumps.

STEP 2: Add in essential oils. I usually try combos with 20 to 30 drops of oil because I like my steamers to be more aromatic and fragrant.

STEP 3: Optional – Add in drops of your colorant. I used 8 drops of blue soap colorant to get the light blue color. If you want a more vibrant color add more drops. Always mix with a gloved hand. And again, this is optional. I often leave them without added color.

STEP 4: Put witch hazel to a small spray bottle so you can evenly mist your dry mixture. You want a damp texture, but you do not want too much liquid at a time. Too much liquid can start a premature fizzing reaction between the citric acid and the baking soda. Start by covering the mixture with a few light sprays then use your other hand to mix around the liquid. Keep doing this until your mixture reaches a damp sand consistency that can be packed together and keep its shape.

STEP 5: Once the mixture is packable, start grabbing handfuls and packing it into the silicone molds or cupcake papers in a muffin tin. Try to fill all corners of the mold evenly. Push down lightly to make sure the mixture completely packs into the bottom of the mold. I usually fill my molds/tins about halfway high.

Makes about 4-6 tablets depending on the size of your molds. If you want to make a larger batch, I recommend starting the process over. Trying to double or triple batches makes it harder to mix without causing the reaction with the witch hazel.

STEP 6: Allow the mixture to cool in the mold overnight. Then carefully pop the hardened shower steamers from the mold and enjoy.
