Best Medicine (Requested Ghost oneshot)

Summary: Y/n is the newest ghoul who just finished her first ritual. She didn't realize how much energy the band usually spent; it was nothing like the rehearsals so when the adrenaline finally wore off she found herself feeling drained with a pounding headache; good thing she wasn't alone in her suffering.

Follow My Work!

The real deal was so much better than rehearsals. She loved the rush being on stage in front of thousands gave her. She loved jumping up and down with Swiss, loved teasing Mountain from her small stage at the back. She loved being pulled into little dance-offs with Sunny and flirting with Cumulus or Cirrus when the Air Ghoulette went to play her keyboard. Y/n loved it all. Watching Dewdrop, Aether, and Rain mess around up front while Papa pretended to be fussy always gave her a giggle. She just loved performing and she was grateful for the chance to join them as a newly summoned ghoulette for the band.

But man did the backlash kill her when the adrenaline finally wore off. She felt so drained and she felt her temples start to throb from the constant noise. After the ritual was over and they did their walk around; throwing picks, receiving flowers and other gifts, and doing a few cute little fan service moments the Ritual was over and she was more than grateful to be off the stage and out of the spotlight.

As they headed down the steps out of view Y/n sighed feeling her shoulders sag in relief as much as bone-deep weariness. But they weren't out of the clear yet. They still needed to make it to the dressing rooms before they could fully relax. At least, Y/n felt like it. She still wasn't comfortable with taking off her mask and gear until she was in the privacy of a closed door even if they were out of the eyes of the fans.

An arm swung around her shoulders as she walked behind Rain and Dewdrop ahead of her and she turned her head; her mask knocking against Swiss' as he bent his head down to speak to her; his usual megawatt smile on his face shining bright against the darkness of his face paint.

"How'd you like your first ritual squirt?" he asked as they walked.

"It was so much fun! A lot better than I thought it'd be. I was so nervous." Y/n confessed smiling back despite the throbbing in her temples.

"Well, you did amazing out there! I think the fans really loved you!" Sunshine piped up, skipping over and linking her arm with the other female's.

"I hope so!" Y/n smile was small as she imagined the fans not being so keen on a new member joining but the majority of the fans didn't seem to mind her; they were generally paying more attention to the three ghouls that usually took front stage with Papa.

"Hey, are you feeling okay lovie?" Aether's voice piped up from over Y/n's shoulder as the quintessence ghoul peeked over as if to see her face despite her mask still being on along with the others.

"Oh yeah just...a little tired, I guess." Y/n confessed looking down at her boots as they walked.

"Oh, honey are you not feeling good? Shoot, let's get you back to the dressing rooms so we can just relax for a moment." Aether offered as the group headed towards the main dressing room they were assigned.

Once inside Y/n plopped herself on the sofa and tugged off her mask; smoothing her hair back from her face and closing her eyes when the light made her headache worse and caused her to groan as she tipped her face back against the comfort of the leather.

"You don't look too good, Blossom. Are you feeling okay?" Mountain's voice rumbled from somewhere in the room and Y/n just nodded weakly.

"Just tired...." she mumbled.

"You look more than just tired. You're actually burning up!" Sunshine's cool palm rested against her forehead and Y/n sighed leaning into the cold touch.

"Are you feeling ill?" Rain piped up next as he went to grab a water from the minifridge for himself and then grabbed a second one to toss at Mountain who caught it easily and uncapped it with a soft crack of plastic.

"Here petal, this'll help. Can you tell us what's wrong?" the large ghoul knelt by her side and lifted the bottle to her lips.

Y/n greedily sucked down the cold liquid and sighed when she drained nearly half the bottle before it was taken away from her. She peeked an eye open to look at him and give him a reassuring half smile.

"I'm okay, just probably dehydrated." she reassured.

"No joke. Those stage lights are a killer." Dewdrop muttered as he wiped the sweat from his forehead after taking his own mask off.

"Yeah..." Y/n mumbled leaning against Sunshine for comfort. The movement made her stomach churn and the lights felt suddenly too bright for her eyes as she buried her face into the ghoulette's shoulder.

"I'll go let Papa know and see what plans are for staying somewhere for the night." Swiss offered as he left the room with Aether in tow.

"I'll go grab you a bag of chips or something to snack on, Droplet. It's better if you don't go on an empty stomach after a show." Rain added softly as he gazed across the room worriedly at his packmate.

He left with Dewdrop in tow behind him muttering about wanting a candy bar too which left Sunshine and Mountain with Y/n. Cumulus and Cirrus had followed Papa to his dressing room to talk to him earlier.

"How are you feeling honey?" Sunshine asked sweetly as she pressed a kiss to the other's head.

"Like the world is tipping on its axis.' Y/n confessed and then clamped a hand over her mouth when she felt the acid burn in her throat.

"Shit!" Mountain grabbed a trashcan nearby just in time to place it in front of the youngest member before the ghoulette upheaved stomach acid into the plastic bucket.

Sunshine lifted her hair from her face and rubbed her back in soothing circles as the other gagged and spit into the bucket between her legs.

"Y/n when was the last time you ate anything?" Sunshine asked worriedly.

"Uh...this morning? I think? Papa brought us some chicken biscuits from the nearby diner, remember?"

"This morning?! Y/n that was over 12 hours ago!" Mountain chided with a sigh as he went to dig in his bag to grab some pain killers for her head. "You have to take better care of yourself, petal. I know your still getting used to being topside but even as demons we have to make sure we refuel ourselves. We don't have the same tolerance of lack of hunger as we did in Hell." he said as he returned and sat down beside her; a hand holding two small white pills in his large palm while the other held the rest of the water bottle out to her.

Y/n gave a weak smile and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand before grabbing the pills and water; downing the medicine before leaning back against the couch with a groan.

"I know, I forgot. I was just nervous about tonight I guess I just forgot." she mumbled.

"No more forgetting. We'll have to make sure you start eating regularly again." Mountain pulled the girl against his side and she sighed contently as she nuzzled into his side; curling up like a kitten against his larger frame.

Sunshine smiled and wrapped her tail around her fellow ghoulette's leg and draped herself across her lap purring and running a soothing hand along her thigh.

"It's okay Y/n, we promise. We've all done it once or twice." she replied soothingly.

Y/n smiled back even when her eyes were closed and she took the other's hand to press a kiss to it before cuddling it against her shoulder like a pillow causing the bubbly female to giggle.

"Let me turn the lights off okay? We can take a quick cat nap before Papa comes to get us." she offered before unwrapping herself from the others and going to click the lights to the room to give Y/n some relief before rejoining them on the couch.

When Rain and Dewdrop returned arms full of snacks they found Mountain stretched out on the couch with Y/n curled up against him and Sunshine across her; both females fast asleep as the gentle giant rumbled in a purr that was lulling them into a deeper sleep. When they entered Mountain placed his finger to his lips as a sign to keep them quiet.

Rain smiled placing his stash down on the table before heading over; his cool hand placing itself on Y/n's forehead to feel her temperature. "She doing any better?" he whispered.

"Just forgot to take care of herself." Mountain replied. "She'll be better when she wakes up from her nap."

Dewdrop wrinkled his nose as he nudged the puke bucket to the side. "We can see that." he grumbled before dropping down to the ground to lean against the couch and rest his head on the free space of cushion beside them.

Rain chuckled and shook his head but joined his packmate on the floor to cuddle against him. "Swiss and Aether are going to go pick us up some dinner. Papa and the girls are checking in with our hotel reservations for tonight. We'll be leaving soon to head there." he informed.

"Good, I'm tired of sleeping on the tour bus." Dew yawned.

"Then we'll have a few minutes." Mountain replied back as he rested his head back on the couch and let out a long yawn of his own before closing his eyes.

"Hmm. A nap sounds good." Rain added as he snuggled against Dewdrop's warmth; curling around him like a cat and letting his eyes shut.

"Just a quick nap wouldn't hurt...."

Remember how I said I couldn't stop thinking about Ghouls? yeah LOL. Anyways, I finally finished my "Ghoul Guide" which is a comic featuring made up lore about summoning nameless ghouls as well as things about them and their roles!

this by no means is comprehensive of everything I've made up for them, but I'm testing the waters with this comic! if it gets enough love I'll make an additional comic about ghoul origins, element types, and maybe even design non-assigned ghoul outfits for each era costume hehe.

A rite of passage for becoming “Papa”, It starts with a will and your judgement

A specialized chamber is necessary, 1) to avoid interference 2) to prevent escape.

After all; feral ghouls are raw elements, And to survive, one must tame them.

Each element has a diversity of strengths and rarity / and the first ghoul summoned sets precedent for how a leader is perceived.

Additionally, the first is the personal servant and an important assistant for life; Often times assistance is needed for future summoning, but a limit of 2 maintains respect to show you’re still capable.

However, they must accept you- you must earn their respect, and they only choose if willing. And they are not always willing.

One must be prepared to face Hell itself. To prove one is worthy to take the stage, controlling the devil’s magic is key.

It’s important to roll the dice and summon a variety, but one may only tame as many as the power of their sin allows, which, naturally, varies.

And while they’re loyal as determined by one’s rank… / Remember: The ministry comes first.
