There are two (2) reasons why I drew Ghurrix for my weekly art series of @criticalrole. 1) I enjoyed that combat. 2) I just wanted to draw a pit fiend.

WELP- about every bit of theorizing I did last past were wrong, wrong, wrong. Right down to the incorrect timeline on the CR Twitter post. Shucks. Furthermore, there ain’t even any Episode 43 minis! Tarnation!

BUT- there were some models in the intermission ad roll. The Monsters of Exandria Set 3 looks pretty dope.

Love the demon-strut that the Ghurrix has going on. And that Naga Abomination is very metal and very Tiamat. Here. For. It. And every one of them dang multicolor snek heds!  See ya next sesh!

The sheer chaos of the battle with Ghurrix and everyone being panicked and clueless at the beginning really gives me more joy than it should.

Unless I misheard, it sounded like Matt said Juuraiel.

She was the fire giant in the City of Brads that had the Plate of the Dawnmartyr, which Vox Machina failed to obtain in a gamble and instead slayed Ghurrix the Pit Fiend.

If the group is going to Marquet a la Kaylie, Pike is getting her Vestige in the City of Brass, and Keyleth’s Vestige being stuck in Yenk the Goristro, then J’Mon Sa Ord, Ghurrix, and Yenk are big Candidates for possible Matt roles

Looking ahead at Vox Machina season 3, I find myself wondering who Matt is going to play as his "main role" for the season. He was Sylas Briarwood in S1 and Umbrasyl in S2, so the trend has been for villains.

Except the main villains in S3 will surely be Vorugal, Thordak, Ripley, and Raishan, all of whom already have VAs. So who's most likely to be the Matt Character with the story they have to cover? I'm struggling to think of an obvious choice.

After reading your great write up on Hell, I was sort of thinking about the Pit Fiend, and his boss knowing about VM, and I was wondering if it was at all possible, that, since the Iron City has dealings with other planes, if that particular Archdevil was Dispater.

Absolutely could be! We didn’t get any indication of what Archdevil our good buddy Ghurrix the Pit Fiend served. The only Archdevils I can think of who wouldn’t have much interest in doing business in the City of Brass would be Levistus and maybe Baalzebul. Could be any of the others but Dispater is a pretty likely option.

- That Vecna can cloud the sight of Osysa and Kamilijori

- Followers of Vecna still out in the world

- Craven Edge (it’s not gone, just in another plane)

- The horn of Orcus in the Temple of Bahamut

- The other horn of Orcus out somewhere in the world

- Orcus

- The Githyanki eye crystal skull

- Somebody out there wanted to kidnap Vex

- Somebody out there has Vex’s face

- The Clasp

- Hotis

- Ghurrix

- Orthax

- Jurazel the glabrezu

- Other vestiges

- Anytime a solstice comes up bad things happen

- Other guns Ripley may have made and hidden

- The unknown potential of whitestone in Whitestone

- What happened to Lord and Lady Briarwood in Wildmount to make them that way

- The fact there is still traces of necromancy from the vial that was in Grog’s chest

My one nitpick with this would be that Juuriael finished the last campaign very much alive in the City of Brass while this other person seems very, very, very dead.

And other than winning the Dawnmartyr Plate in a game of cards, there was nothing particularly unique about her. She was just a fire giant Vox Machina had to kill a Ghurrix for if I remember correctly.

Juuraiel was the giant VM won the last vestige from in the city of brass — and she won that armour from the Sutan bloodline… like the Lord Sutan whose house the M9 broke into in Zadash.

Zadash. The city where Oban is looking for this information.

And maybe even more significantly – the armour was worn in the battle for Ghor Dranas – aka Rosohna!!!!!

(I heard many players are playing as the Perc'ahlia quarter-elves, the Kashara Tieflings, and Pikelan gnomes and that's cool but I'd like to see if any other characters/factions are represented)

The best part of this was that they were using illusions to try to sell themselves to a pit fiend.

Pit fiends have truesight, Ghurrix saw straight through them.

This is probably the worst plan Vox Machina has ever come up with
