What if you two were to swap roles and personalities?
How'd that go out to be??
(Miles and Chris)
👀
"I’d be a whiny little-" Tails started, but he stopped short when he caught the look on Kit’s face. The fennec wasn’t glaring or pouting, he just looked tired, resigned.
Tails hesitated, then cleared his throat. "...Uhh, I mean, I guess I’d be... loyal... And kind... And smart." His voice lost its edge, and he glanced away, rubbing the back of his neck.
Kit raised an eyebrow, surprised by the shift in tone.
"It’d be weird, though," Tails added, awkwardly. "Not being the one overthinking everything or fixing machines. I don’t think I’d pull off the ‘gentle support role’ thing half as well as you do."
Kit gave a small smile, eyes softening. "And I probably wouldn’t last a day in your shoes. I’d forget half the math, trip over wires, and probably explode the lab by lunchtime."
Tails finally cracked a small smile in return. "Eh... you're smart, I'm sure you'd manage. Plus, you’d look good with goggles."
"Of course I would," Kit said with a little shrug.

Additional Theories for Season 3
Hunter
Hunter will use a lightsaber
Omega and Hunter REAL HUG
Hunter finally discovers his purpose and resolves his arc
Hunter finally loses it and goes Joel Miller on everyone’s ass
Hunter will make riskier decisions since Omega isn’t around. He won’t be playing it safe. He might even make some morally questionable choices.
Hunter will have a hard time trusting Crosshair when he comes back to them.
Cad Bane and Hunter rematch (neither will lose/it will be a draw)
Fennec and Hunter banter
He will be the only main character to die (the more and more I hear about season 3 and the more I think about it, him being the only death besides Tech makes a lot of sense. They’ve been leading up to it a really long time)
He will tell Omega he loves her
He will hand off responsibility for Omega to Crosshair, showing that he finally trusts him again. Mutual forgiveness between them.
Omega will take his bandana/helmet
Tech
Tech will return in a way we don’t expect (if he returns at all)
Tech is not the mystery soldier
Tech’s goggles will have a tracker in them (put there by Hemlock. It will be how he finds Pabu)
The team will visibly struggle without him there
Lots of callbacks to Tech
Phee will be shown missing him
Crosshair
Crosshair will continue to struggle with decision making, Omega will serve as his conscience
He will struggle greatly with PTSD
He will reunite with his fam mid season
Crosshair and bros HUG
Crosshair will be sassy with his bros again
Crosshair will grow in his relationship with Omega
Sickest Crosshair sniping yet
He’ll compliment Omega on her shooting skills
Hunter will hand off caring for Omega to Crosshair (which will be such a great resolution to both of their arcs)
Wrecker
Wrecker will showcase more of his emotional intelligence
Wrecker will be desperate to not lose anymore of his family
He will blow up so many things
Wrecker more subdued/sad/thoughtful
Origins of Lula revealed
Either Lula is left with Omega or at Hunter’s grave
Echo
Echo will leave with Rex for good
He will get his handprint back (I’m thinking in the red blood of someone he loves this time…)
Echo finally gets a normal arm
Echo survives, fate unknown so he can be in other Star Wars content (Echo base etc)
Callback to Fives
Echo SURVIVES (he won’t die. They would be showing him in trailers much more if they were planning on killing him off)
Omega
Confirmation that she is Force Sensitive
Omega’s purpose revealed
Omega tied to Rey somehow (?)
Flashback of Omega meeting TBB as babies
Omega being strategic and getting herself and Cross out
She will have a bond with Emerie and change her for the better (like Omega always does. She just makes people better)
Ventress will take interest in her and vice versa
Omega will help resolve the tension between Crosshair and Hunter
She will survive to the end of the war. She will be in future Star Wars content.
Asajj Ventress
Asajj will force choke the boys (that’s a given)
She’ll probably flirt with them too
She will team up with the boys (after she tries to kill them first, and she will almost succeed because they honestly don’t stand a chance against her)
She will have a particular relationship/role to play with Omega
Quinlan Vos cameo (he will be with Asajj)
Others
Cody will return
Cody’s fate won’t be revealed in TBB so they can use him for other content
TBB get a dog
Flashbacks of TBB Clone Wars Era
One of the boys will actually cry actual tears
Someone will get a life-threatening injury
Galen Erso appearance
More Director Krennic
Pabu will be compromised and destroyed
Pabu will be revealed to be Scarif
Bad Batch family shot mirroring that scene on the Kamino landing platform in Season 1
Force sensitive clones
Darth Vader cameo (albeit brief)
Nemec and Fireball will die
Fennec teams up with and leaves on good terms with the boys
Fennec gives the boys a hard time
Snoke reveal
Death Star references galore
Final Clone War/Uprising

[I.D. Digital art of Donnie from ROTTMNT and an oc. Donnie and an anthropomorphic fennec fox are sitting at a table typing on their respective laptops. Donnie's has an angular D symbol on the back, while the fox's has three pairs of eyes stacked on each other. Donnie is not wearing a battleshell, and his goggles have wavy lines running up and down them. He glances over at the fox and asks "Can I use you for dubiously ethical science experiments?" She smiles, her ears pricked upward, and says "Depends, what type of experiment?" She is wearing a tanktop and has earbuds that connect to her laptop. End I.D.]
made this like two months ago, put it in a draft, and forgot about it lol
Anyway, the fox girl is kinda maybe my version of Alopex, that said I know nothing about Alopex and I might not give her that name. In My Circus My Turtles, she's sort of Donnie's friend/science partner. They do experiments and build stuff together, but maybe don't hang out much outside of that? I'm still working it out tbh. Also she's blind. So far I'm thinking she does more of the software stuff and Donnie does more of the hardware when it comes to what they make.

Ok...I might have to watch TBB Ep 10&11 again...but...SPOILERS:
But I DO BELIEVE this man snuck onto Clone-X's ship and is hiding out...even Omega doesn't know he's there.
Maybe I missed him showing up somewhere on the island after that ship took off? Someone please let me know.
In the beginning of the episode Hunter looked in the direction of where the ship landed, seeing the island birds flying away and definitely telling someone he sensed something was off.
He also knows since Ventress landed in that beach cave that it's the ideal place to infiltrate the island.
When he swam to shore, Batcher didn't just seem to be happy he was ok...she MIGHT have alerted on a presence down at the beach...just like she did when Ventress landed.
And, he was RIGHT there (unless he was dumped on the OTHER side of the island) that he might check out to see if anyone landed a ship there. Is he on board? Is Batcher with him? Or did he plant a tracking device himself? Am I assuming too much? Maybe he can radio Rex and Echo for help? Emerie may help break out the children and clone prisoners? Maybe I'm wearing clown shoes...
Lastly...If he didn't make it on the ship, REALLY don't think Hunter is going to ride Crosshair's ass for his mistake with letting Omega go. He could have really raked Cross over the coals back on Barton IV, but he didn't. Now that Crosshair recognizes the stakes, I seriously doubt it's going to happen.
Honestly, with 4 episodes left, we don't have time for more squabbling.
I still feel it's hard to tell if Clone-X is Tech or Cody. The voice sounded like both at different times. If it was Tech HOW could he forget the coordinates to Pabu when Phee put her hand on his shoulder in S2 and gave them to him while he was going all goggle eyed over her touch?
Nala Se getting Emerie to question her motivations to head Project Necromancer. I feel that Emerie is gonna turn on the Empire. Will she survive?
Terrifying that it's children involved in the project...and now they have a baby to experiment on. Hope that force sensitive babeh force throws some bad guys in later episodes like that freakin' vase.
Hemlock and Tarkin passive-aggressively arguing over project funding. lol
Luckily Batcher wasn't shot. I was a bit scared there.
Hopefully Wrecker is going to be all right. He has to be since we see him in the trailer in the Juggernaut and there is an episode named Juggernaut.
The Marauder is gone, so they need another ship. Is that what Phee helps them with in the trailer?
Glad Cad Bane was used ONLY momentarily in the episode instead of using up the whole episode. He seemed to fit in the story and the episode did indeed further the plot. Sorry, but I don't thing Ventress and Fennec's arc really did much of that for two whole episodes. We missed out on a lot of relevant storytelling.

Some Quinlan Vos/Bad Batch speculation because it could fix/break everything (and I want my man back)
Was it established how Ventress found Omega and the boys on Pabu? We can pretend it was her force signature, but what if she got Fennec to give her something Hunter and Wrecker left behind (maybe some chipped off piece of armor, etc) and Ventress handed it over to her psychometric partner, who then narrowed the location down based on memories?
In any case, psychometry could be the turning point for the rest of the series. What if when Ventress was on the Marauder she nabbed some of Omega and Crosshair's former Tantiss prisoner uniforms, knowing something was going to go down? If the children in the Vault were already on the precursor-to-the-Path's radar, Ventress may have had other intentions seeking out Omega rather than just the M-count discussion.
So let's say Ventress gives Vos the objects belonging to the two who have been on Tantiss - if they find out the coordinates, great. But does psychometry work if the memory-holding-person is un/semiconscious? Imagine Vos seeing something in Crosshair's memories that Crosshair himself doesn't remember, referencing the dark past that Shadow Clone hinted at. What if that's how we find out CX-2's identity?
There are plenty of ways Vos's psychometry leads the batch to Tantiss, but you know what would do me in? If Ventress takes Vos to Pabu to debrief and look for clues, and he touches Tech's goggles, which we know are safe from the Marauder's destruction. We would instantly know what Tech's final moments were like, or if they were his final moments at all.
If Vos has been in hiding, which makes total sense considering he's not only a Jedi, but one that the Empire might see as prime Inquisitor material given his dark past, I feel like getting a chance to save the kids from the Vault might push him out. Not to mention Ventress being alive and clearly having a soft spot for Omega already.
It's pretty hard to imagine Vos not being reintroduced soon, given all the opportunity.

Besides the muzzle, glitchy eric has the exact same palette as the kit the fennec
Despite this fact, Kit has been confirmed to NOT have been inspired by the Eric/Blueckles glitch! He's actually more probably inspired by the aptly named "Cyborg Tails" right here (since Ian Flynn mentioned him being inspired by a blue Tails palette glitch):
(Whether or not Surge and Kit being cyborgs/originally meant to be androids being a reference to this is unlikely)
The inspiration is actually a bit more noticeable with Evan Stanley's concept art of Kit:

(Note the slightly more pastel blue with white highlights, the backpack coinciding with the red, and the eyes being hidden by goggles, giving the impression of them being black, while also maintaining the darker coloration with grey without being pure black. HELL, even the shoes are more accurately colored than finalized Kit.)
There's also a version of this glitch with Sonic that has a suspiciously familiar palette:
#ps: yes i am gonna make cyborg sonic inspired oc in the veil of ashura and wechnia#yes he is gonna be sonic exe inspired as much as i dislike exes#and YES i do casually have this kind of knowledge casually stored in my brain#and i LOVE to unleash it#sth#kit the fennec#kitsunami the fennec#miles tails prower#random stuff#whould i create a glitchposting tag?#fuck it#glitch posting

Chekhov’s Guns in TBB Season 3 (as of E11) *SPOILER WARNING*
What is Chekhov’s Gun?
Tech’s Goggles: Why keep them and make sure they are out of the Marauder before the big boom? Something needs to happen with them.
Lula: Wrecker’s plushie he gave to Omega. Also taken out of the Marauder before the explosion. Is this supposed to represent that both Tech and Wrecker are MIA/incapacitated at the moment? Important to note- there is also the Hay Lula that Omega left behind and Emerie ended up giving to the one force-sensitive child. Maybe Lula represents comfort? Whenever Omega is without Lula something bad happens to her. She creates one to bring her comfort on Tantiss. When Lula is put in the museum is right before Wrecker gets exploded. Emerie gives the child Faux Lula to bring her comfort.
CX-2: That’s it. Why is he so durable and everywhere??? Who is he?? (Tech probably). His identity is important.
Rex’s Clone Rebellion: This has to die and fail. We only see three clones in Rebels, so how do the poor boys get wrecked (ha!) by the Empire?
Nala Se: As the last of the Kaminoains she has to die right? At least sacrifice herself to save Omega.
Emerie: Her development is going to lead her to trying to rescue the kids, probably. Just how and what is her fate? Does she also save Nala Se?
Omega(credit to @clonebrainrot for this): Omega and her M-count blood. Something has to come of this. Whether she is injected with the high M-count blood, or hers is used for something else, she and her blood is important.
The 30,000 Credits: The 30,000 credits that Crosshair and Omega got in Ep4. They must use this for something important right? Since Ventress, Cad Bane, and Fennec Shand have already shown up with their trailer clips, who is left? Could they pay Sid for something? Use the money to get a new ship? Give Phee the money? Throw it at Crosshair for loosing Omega? Pay Wrecker’s medical bills? *Insert other use of Credits here.*
These were all of them that I could think of! If you have any more, feel free to comment/reblog them.

The Bad Batch: Specter
Episode 10: Common Ground
edited by: @ryleeeeeenn warnings: I swear, Specter's on laughing gas in this episode, I don't know why I wrote her like this
The Bad Batch walked together through the streets of Ord Mantell back to Cid’s parlor; Omega sat on Wrecker’s shoulders, happily munching away at her snack.
“How’s the Mantell Mix, kid?” he asked. The girl nodded, dropping a piece into Wrecker’s mouth.
“Better than ever,” she answered.
“Yeah, it is,” he laughed in agreement. Specter smiled at the merriment but still kept her eyes on their surroundings, keeping an eye out for any suspicious characters possibly after them.
“So, when’s our next mission?” Omega asked.
“With two bounty hunters after you, it’d be wise to keep a low profile,” Tech turned to advise. Hunter stopped the group.
“Tech’s right,” he said, helping Omega jump down from Wrecker, “there's too much heat on us right now.”
“Ha! That never stopped us before,” Wrecker jeered. Specter pulled him aside.
“Hey, she’s just a kid, not a soldier. She isn’t trained like we are and has been through enough. She needs a break,” Specter scolded in a hiss. They watched as Echo sniffed at the Mantell Mix, Omega and Tech watching, amused by the gesture.
“She seems fine to me,” Wrecker shrugged. Specter sighed, rolling her eyes.
“Some scars aren’t always visible,” she muttered. She followed Hunter into Cid’s place; indistinct music played quietly in the background as they all took a seat at the bar. The Trandoshan came around with a gleam in her eye and a task obviously already in mind.
“I’ve got a mission for you boys,” she said, “a simple extraction on Raxus.”
“Raxus?” Tech perked up. That is the former center of the Separatist government. It has since become an Imperial outpost–”
“I’m not interested in a history lesson, Goggles,” Cid interrupted. Specter already had a feeling the job lined up for them was time-sensitive. “You’re being hired to locate and free Senator Avi Singh from his confinement.” She pulled up a hologram of the senator. He was a darker-skinned man with a thick white mustache, and he certainly dressed like a Senator. Specter glanced at Omega, who was eagerly focused on Cid’s words; she was worried about the girl being out in the field again so soon, especially on a Separatist-turned-Imperial planet. “My client will meet you at the given coordinates to brief you. Details are on this. Now get going,” Cid tossed the data card to Tech, but Hunter caught it instead.
“Help a Separatist? Not gonna happen,” Hunter refused, throwing the card back to Cid. Specter almost sighed in relief.
“Your debt’s still not paid, remember? A job’s a job,” the Trandoshan insisted. Hunter brought her aside, out of Omega’s range of hearing. Specter stood just out of sight, listening in on them.
“I am not bringing Omega to a planet swarming with Imperials,” Hunter explained.
“So leave her here with me. I’ll keep an eye on her,” Cid offered. Specter almost scoffed; after the ordeal of getting her back to them from Cad Bane and Fennec Shand, she was not so willing to leave Omega in someone else’s care. She could tell Hunter felt the same way.
“I don’t exactly trust you either,” he said.
“Good. You shouldn’t. But if keeping the kid safe means more money in my pocket, it’s in my best interest to do so, isn’t it?” Cid reasoned. Specter hated that she had a point.
“If anything happens to her…” Hunter threatened.
“Yeah, yeah, Bandana. And just so we’re clear, I’m more afraid of Shorty than I am of you. Just get outta here,” Cid said, shoving the data chip at him before walking away. Hunter glanced at Specter, who turned her head away just in time so she wouldn’t get caught. He shook his head and went over to tell Omega the news. The girl smiled up at him, adjusting the strap of her energy bow.
“Ready when you are, Sergeant,” she said, saluting. Hunter knelt down.
“Not this time, Omega. You’re staying with Cid,” he explained. Omega’s face turned to one of confusion and disappointment.
“But th-the mission. I’m a part of this squad too.”
“Then following orders shouldn’t be a problem.” Specter went to speak but bit her tongue.
Following orders was never really this squad’s forte, she mused to herself. She winced at her next thought. Crosshair would laugh if he could see us now.
“Stay close to Cid, and don’t leave this parlor. Got it, soldier?” Hunter continued to instruct Omega with a hand on the girl’s shoulder. Omega groaned, rolling her eyes.
“Yes, sir,” she grumbled. Hunter nodded and stood up, walking with the boys out of the parlor; Wrecker patted the girl’s shoulder as he passed.
“We’re trying to keep you safe, Omega. After you had to deal with two bounty hunters at once, we’d rather have you lay low for a little while,” Specter explained, placing a gentle hand on the girl’s hair. Omega slouched, now saddened.
“I know. I just wish he would trust me,” she said.
“He does trust you, hun,” she knelt to the girl’s level, “you’re just as much a part of this squad as any of us. But you’re also a little girl. You have a whole life ahead of you, and you get the opportunity to have a childhood… that’s something we didn’t get. I’m sorry you have to miss out on this one, but Hunter’s right. We were created to fight the separatists, and we fought them for years. So, helping one on a planet swarming with Imperials has us worried. Do you understand that, Omega?” She nodded, a little more understanding of the situation. Specter smiled and patted her head before taking her leave.
“Be safe out there,” Omega called after her.
“Thank you, hun. We’ll be back soon,” Specter winked and waved farewell before catching up with the squad.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“We’ve never been to Raxus before,” Wrecker said, entering the cockpit. Specter stood, leaning against his chair.
“The coordinates from Cid have us landing outside the capital city of Raxulon, the home of their Senate,” Tech said.
“I can’t believe we’re helping a Separatist senator,” Echo grumbled, arm and scomp-link crossed. Specter rolled her eyes and bit back a sigh.
“So you have said. Repeatedly,” Tech quipped back instead.
“I’m with Tech; if I hear anyone else complain about this job, then I’ll give you something else to complain about,” she threatened, giving pointed glances to Hunter and Echo. Neither met her gaze.
“I always thought we’d make it to Raxus someday. But not like this,” commented Hunter. Raxus was a popular destination among the clones; being the center of the Separatist government, many of them hoped to make it there during the war and be the ones to win the planet back for the Republic. That hope was gone now and replaced with the hope they would complete this job for credits.
Tech dropped them out of lightspeed, the ship quickly descended into the atmosphere of the planet ahead. Specter heard more words of admiration for the planet’s natural beauty than she did tales of battle. They flew through the fluffy clouds of its skies, navigating their way through the airspace until two patrol craft flew by, blocking their path and slowing them down.
“Unidentified transport, this is restricted airspace. Transmit your clearance code,” the trooper said over comms.
“Input the codes from Cid’s client,” Hunter instructed. Specter started to bring her hand up, trying to fight the urge to nibble on her nails in nervous anticipation again as they waited for a response.
“Hunter, the client is a Separatist. How do we know this isn’t a trap?” speculated Echo. He didn’t get an answer, as the trooper replied back to them.
“You’re clear for entry. Proceed,” he said before he and his wingman flew off.
“Now are you convinced?” Tech asked, teasing a little.
“No,” Echo answered, still frowning.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The ship landed in the red-leaved forest, a few klicks away from the city. Specter held her rifle ready as they exited the Marauder, observing their surroundings as well as the appealing scenery.
“I am simply stating the fact the codes did, in fact, work. The client being a Separatist is not relevant,” Tech said behind her.
“It is to me,” Echo argued. She groaned and turned back toward them
“Will you two just shut up? I am so close to shooting both of you in the mouth,” she hissed.
“Specter’s right,” Hunter said. “Forget politics. We’re here to do a job.”
“I am very pleased to hear you say that,” a voice said from nowhere. They all raised their blasters, watching as a droid emerged from behind a tree.
“Who are you?” Tech asked.
“I am your client,” the droid answered.
“Can I still shoot it?” Specter whispered before Hunter pushed down her rifle.
“We’re working for a droid?” Wrecker said, speculating the situation.
“That is correct,” the droid answered, “my master, Senator Singh, was arrested for speaking out against the unjust occupation-”
“We don’t care,” Echo interrupted.
“Just take us to where the senator’s being held,” Hunter ordered.
“Right to it. I like you,” the droid said. “Very well. Follow me.” It waved them along; Echo hesitated, groaning, before following the others through the forest. Even though the area was void of Imperial soldiers, Specter, out of habit, made sure to keep her footsteps quiet and the traces of her presence nearly invisible.
Sneaking into the city was easier than they expected. Patrols passed by between large intervals with only a few troops marching, accompanied by a walker. They reached the front gate of a building complex, out of sight behind bushes across the street.
“We have reached our destination,” the droid said. Tech lowered his visor and Specter looked through her rifle scope, standing behind Hunter and using his shoulder as a mount.
“There are six exterior guards and multiple heat signatures inside. Four in the subterranean level,” Tech reported.
“Why do I get the feeling you’re setting us up?” Echo accused, pushing the droid back against the wall.
“It is against my programming to send my allies into danger,” it answered simply.
“We ain’t allies, tin bin,” Wrecker growled.
“Ha ha, ‘tin bin’,” Specter said with a laugh.
“Enough,” he said, turning towards the other two. “We need to take out the compound’s surveillance system. Move in.” They all followed Hunter and his order, advancing toward the complex. Keeping out of sight of the cameras and quieting any guards in their path, they found a blindspot by a separate entrance into the complex. Tech signaled there were two guards at the door.
“Time to make yourself useful,” Hunter said, shoving the droid forward. Specter giggled as she moved back out of sight with the others.
“I do not possess a military skill set for a tactical advantage,” the droid mumbled.
“We’re counting on it,” Hunter assured. They waited for the droid to lure the troopers toward them with its bumbling antics; it ran back towards them with the soldiers only a few steps behind, telling the droid to stop. Once they were in range, the Batch knocked out the soldiers and advanced toward the gate, letting the droid open it and lead them inside. Waiting for a patrol pair to pass, they advanced again to a doorway, letting Tech do his thing.
“I am tapped into their security system,” he reported.
“You two, clear the upper levels,” Hunter ordered Wrecker and Echo. They nodded and went inside.
“Let me guess: Namesake?” Specter said, already stowing her rifle away.
“Exactly. They’ll figure out we’re here one way or another, so we’ll need to know when, how, and where,” confirmed Hunter.
“I’ll look for possible escape routes too, free of charge. See you later,” mused Specter, heading inside and promptly disappearing. “Namesake” was a plan devised solely for Specter, in which she would live up to her name; unseen by their enemy, she would gather advantageous information and watch over her team like a ghost. A specter.
She snuck around corners and made her way through crawlspaces and vents, leaving no trace or glimpse of herself for anyone to see, including the cameras—not even Tech would be able to detect her. Specter found Wrecker and Echo sweeping through the third level, finding only two patrol troops that were easily silenced. She moved on, confident they would fulfill their task. The roof was deemed the best possible escape route, after all, Imperial troops would need to come in from the ground floor entrances in order to reach them.
“Sarge, I got us an escape route. We’ll be taking the roof. You find that senator, yet?” she asked over comms.
“Affirmative, we just got him. Echo and Wrecker already confirmed the upper floors are clear.”
“Confirmed. We—wait a moment,” she paused, looking out the window from her hidden corner. All of the soldiers previously on patrol were no longer at their stations; to an amateur, it would have been a good sign. “I’m not liking the look of things. We need to move,” said Specter, tensely.
“Copy that. Relay to the others.” Specter repeated the information to Echo and Wrecker; by the time the others had made it to the roof, Specter was already there, waiting for them.
“Welcome to the party. Main entrance is completely cut off, we need another way down and out.” She looked everyone over, glad to see her squad as well as the two guests.
“There,” Hunter said, pointing over the far ledge. Tech, Echo, and Specter peered over alongside him. “We’ll seize that tank and blow our way outta here.”
“How do you intend to gain control of the armored vehicle from up here?” the droid quested, obviously doubting their skills and sounding exasperated—and for some reason, holding a vase.
“Coming through,” Wrecker said, shoving between them, taking aim, and firing a grappling round at the tank.
“Nice shot,” Specter commented. Tech and Echo slid down the line, taking control of the walker with great efficiency.
“All clear,” Tech reported as it came to a stop.
“Impressive,” the droid commented.
“After you,” Wrecker offered Specter, mimicking a courteous gentleman. She snickered and slid down the line with ease. Tech was already at the controls, getting himself familiar. Wrecker arrived with the disheveled senator under his arm, as did Hunter with the droid.
“Alright, let’s get moving, Tech,” Specter said. The tank lurched forward, walking at a steady pace. Wrecker tossed out the unconscious soldiers with almost too much glee.
“They’ll feel that in the morning,” he jeered. Specter held on as they made their escape, trying to formulate any sort of idea to get them out of this mess. Something hit them from behind, almost breaching the hull and sending smoke and shockwaves through the tank, making it tumble to a stop. Specter lost her balance, almost falling into Echo.
“The rear axel stabilizer is off-line. We will need to calibrate manually,” Tech reported.
“Get this bucket up and running,” Hunter ordered before turning toward the others. “Wrecker, Specter, and I will hold them off.” The Batch jumped out of the tank as another approached, still occupied by Imperials. Echo and Tech deviated off to start repairs while the other three ran ahead. Hunter ran forward, sliding and stunning oncoming troopers; Specter was behind him, using her shotgun to blast at the walker’s vulnerable joints. Its steps staggered but didn’t stop. Wrecker climbed up the front, using his brute strength to move the top cannon away.
“No, you don’t!” Wrecker grunted. It fired at a distant building. Specter appeared behind the operator and stunned him.
“Wrecker,” Hunter called out, tossing a grenade to him.
“Oh!” he eagerly laughed, tossing it into the walker, knocking out everyone inside once it detonated. The tank came to a complete stop. “Oh, yeah!” he cheered.
“Incoming!” Specter shouted just as a cannon shell hit the building next to them. They ducked from the blast, hopping off the disabled tank as another came flying towards them. Imperial reinforcements arrived just as the three ducked for cover. “The pay better be worth it for all this. Or at least hope this senator tips well,” she said, firing at oncoming troops.
“Tech, how we doing?” Hunter asked over comms.
“I need more time,” he answered.
“Ah, wouldn’t that be nice, if we all had more time in our life?” Specter mused, almost mindlessly firing at the soldiers.
“Sarge, I think Specter’s getting ‘battle brain’,” Wrecker said to Hunter, who shook his head.
“Repairs complete,” Tech announced just in time.
“We’re on our way.” Hunter led the other two back to regroup, jumping into the tank just as Tech powered it on. They soon got to walking again, making their escape from the Empire closing in.
“Turn down that alleyway,” the senator said, pointing ahead.
“We’ll be trapped in a choke point,” Tech pointed out with a glare. Specter tensed, wondering if the senator’s intentions were truly worth anything.
“You have to trust me,” he assured. Tech looked to Hunter, who nodded in approval before advancing toward the alley. They were hit several times; smoke filled the interior, and Specter was pretty sure something was leaking. “Move into position next to that wall. It leads to a subterranean passage,” Senator Singh instructed next. Tech parked the walker next to the wall, the entrance flush against it. The senator entered the main hull, opening the door and feeling the wall. “If you don’t mind, please blast a hole in the wall right here.”
“That I can do,” Wrecker said, eagerly pulling out a detonator and placing it on the wall. They closed the door and let the explosion open up the wall. Specter was the first to inspect the tunnel, finding it stable and clear of Imperials.
“Not bad, Senator. We’re all good,” she announced. The droid helped Senator Singh over the rubble into the tunnel.
“Hurry. This way,” he urged, pointing down the tunnel once everyone was out of the tank. The Bad Batch followed him, but Specter stopped Wrecker before he went too far.
“Ahp ahp ahp! Close the door behind you, Wreck,” she teased. He groaned and backtracked, placing another explosive on the wall by the other hole they blasted, sealing off the tunnel, allowing them all to escape.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They didn’t stop running until they were deep in the forest. Specter led the group, impressed that both the senator and droid were able to relatively keep up. She practically smiled at the sight of the Marauder opening its doors to them. However, the senator paused before setting foot on the ramp after the Batchers.
“What am I doing?” he muttered, turning back towards where they came from, although no one could see the city from where they were. “I cannot abandon my people. I must help them.”
“You will, Senator, but not if you are in Imperial custody,” the droid said, reassuring but firm.
“She’s right,” Echo chimed in next to him. “Live to fight another day.” Specter watched the senator sigh before turning to step foot on the ship. In the end, she decided he wasn’t bad for a Separatist, and she understood his conflict. It was a difficult choice to leave one's people behind to live and fight for them another day. Perhaps she understood that conflict a little too well, wanting to stay and bring Crosshair back to them, but also wanting to live and survive, to protect what she currently had.
Tech and Echo got them off the ground and flew away back to Ord Mantell. Senator Singh was strapped in for the majority of the ride, conversing with his droid about their next steps. Specter had checked in with everyone, asking about any possible injuries, which thankfully, there were none. She went to Hunter, who sat at the inner console, keeping an eye out on Imperial chatter.
“Everyone’s cleared, Sarge,” she reported, leaning over his shoulder.
“Good. What would we do without you, Spec?” he teased, looking up at her.
“Probably die,” she muttered. He chuckled and rolled his eyes, flicking away a piece of her hair, now free from her helmet. Silence passed between them for a moment.
“I… there was a moment I forgot Omega wasn’t on the mission with us,” he admitted. “Do you think she’s alright?”
“I do. Omega’s a tough girl who’s already been through a lot,” Specter affirmed but continued. “But she was upset after you left, you know. She didn’t feel like you trusted her.” Hunter looked up at her, surprised, before nodding, understanding, and admitting he had to fix it. “You better talk to her. And I know you’re just as scared of me as Cid is. Maybe even a little more if you’re smart.”
“Were you listening in on our conversation?” Hunter asked, but Specter was already walking away.
“You can’t prove it either way, Hunt.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The group walked back to Cid’s parlor, surrounding the senator and droid. They were met with a curious sight—several patrons excitedly entered the parlor, cheering about something.
“What’s all this?” Wrecker wondered aloud as someone pushed past them towards the door. Hunter led them inside, although there was almost no standing room as tons of people were gathered around one of the dejarak tables.
“No one can stop this kid!” someone cheered.
“Of course,” Hunter sighed once he saw what was going on. Specter gasped, caught up in the excitement as Omega sat across from her opponent. Cid stood by the girl as the opponent considered his next play. He moved his character across the board, right into the range of Omega’s own character.
“Rookie mistake,” she muttered. The young girl smirked, defeating her opponent and winning the game. Specter cheered alongside everyone.
“Oh, she did it again!” someone cheered. Cid and Omega caught sight of the returned Batch through the crowd; the girl pushed through and ran to greet them while the Trandoshan dispersed everyone.
“Alright, the show’s over. No more bets,” she said.
“Kid, where’d you learn to do that?” asked Wrecker, lifting the girl up into his arms.
“She’s a natural. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Cid complimented. Omega beamed. Specter ruffled the girl's hair, causing her to giggle.
“I told you to keep a low profile. This is the opposite,” Hunter scolded, his voice low. Omega’s smile faltered; she hung her head, but Cid slapped his arm.
“Ease up, Bandana. Omega made enough money to pay off the debt you boys owe me, so try showing a little gratitude to my friend,” she said, walking by. “You did good,” she said to Omega. “Senator, glad you made it. Let’s talk payment.” The Trandoshan ushered Senator Singh and his droid toward her office, as did Echo, Tech, and Wrecker once he set Omega down and gave Hunter a pointed look. Specter walked past as well, putting a firm hand on Hunter’s shoulder and bringing him close.
“Fix it. Now,” she whispered before joining the others. She trusted him to keep to his word and make it right.

Grogu Story links in AO3
A few people have asked and at least one very recently, if I had something that could show the timeline of all the stories I write with my OC Ta'lan Bet and of course with Grogu and Din Djarin. So here it is. Sort Of.
The first list shows the Ta'lan Bet stories. I have written more content for her, I just haven't posted it. If you want to see them, let me know. Not all of her content is for general consumption.
Then a Mandalorian story of how the Darksaber was brought back to the Jedi Temple. It was a request from another reader. I have more like it if you want to read them. Let me know and I will post them.
Then I have the stories that involve Grogu, Din Djarin and Ta'lan Bet. They are shown in order. These are set after the events of the TV series (so far) and cover a lot of territory.
Finally, finally, if you have a story suggestion, or think an existing story could use another chapter, or you need an explainer, let me know. There is a file that provides some background for Ta'lan Bet, the Brethren, Seb, etc.
I will post a list of links to the other content when I have more time. I still have to write somethings today.

To take this same idea and compare it to another Star Wars property (I've mentioned this comparison before, but I'm taking this opportunity to spell it out):
Kanan's death versus Tech's.
Kanan: dies at the end of the episode, his sacrifice is THE focal point. The entire next episode (25 minutes) is spent following his family as they process their grief in different ways. Kanan's influence as a friend, confidante, mentor, father figure, and more is touched on in every episode through the rest of the season. His influence and legacy is given almost complete credit for Ezra's success and sacrifice to save Lothal.
Tech: dies in act 1 of an episode, his death is glossed over, he is granted a few name drops the next season so at least the show's creators can say they didn't actually forget about him, we as the audience get to stare at his goggles a few times but the ONLY member of the family who actually interacts with them at all is Omega (and his goggles are given the same focus as Lula), and the only time he is mentioned in the finale is when Crosshair wants to storm Tantiss by himself.
The thing is - there COULD have been a point for "well, look, life doesn't always slow down after a death, this is another look at reality" to explain the season 2 finale barely giving any moment to process Tech's death. And hey, Tech's death apparently is what made Hunter finally decide to stop being a soldier... and that development is given emphasis for all of 5 seconds. Which is why I was waiting for early season 3 to give us some closure. But then there are 5 months of Omega frequently visiting Crosshair, with no mention of Tech (when one of the main questions after 3.03 first aired was "wait, does Crosshair even know what happened to Tech?" you know a "convenient time lapse" wasn't a good idea). There are 5 months of Hunter and Wrecker searching for Omega, yet nothing showing us how the news gets broken to the other important people in Tech's life. There's some time spent in relative peace on Pabu as the team waits for Echo to return and then wait for Phee's intel on m-count and then wait for Fennec to live up to her end of the deal. Life DID slow down enough for them to discuss Tech, set up a memorial together, ANYTHING - and they didn't. Except to say that decryption would be hard and hey here are some of Tech's notes.
Now, after a rewatch, I'm headcanoning that the reason why the death is handled this way is because Crosshair can't deal with it and therefore is trying to ignore it, until the finale when the grief and guilt builds to the point that Crosshair wants to embark on a suicide mission. But this is a headcanon, because even after THAT gut punch of a line, there is absolutely no closure. If poor Crosshair felt guilty about Tech in the finale, for all we know he still never actually got over it.
It's us desperate audience members who keep saying "Well, it was Tech's sacrifice that made the happy ending on Pabu possible." THE SHOW AND THE MAIN CHARACTERS NEVER, EVER SAY IT. They don't even give a passing mention to Tech during the end scene on Pabu. The epilogue shows us Omega yet again interacting with Tech's goggles, but not any of Tech's brothers doing so.
The thing that absolutely slays me, though? The show's creators obviously know how to write a meaningful and short scene honoring a deceased character, as they give us a moment of Crosshair honoring Mayday. So the fact that they never gave Tech a "Mayday moment," even at the end of the finale, just FLOORS me.
I absolutely ADORE Bad Batch. It is a phenomenal show. Which is why I will never get over the fact that Tech's death was handled so poorly, when literally all they needed to do was include a "Mayday moment" for Tech (more moments than just one would have been preferable, but I'd accept even one!)
I guess what I'm saying is: if Star Wars is going to kill off another main character, PLEASE, Lucasfilm, for goodness' sake, take notes from Rebels or even X-Men 97!!!
So, here's what X-Men 97 did that TBB did not, for its main character death. Obviously, huge X-Men 97 and TBB spoilers.
The death happens at a pivotal moment story wise, but is NOT immediately abandoned for other plot.
Remy (Gambit) dies towards the end of an episode which is in and of itself a real jaw-dropper, much like Plan 99. Out of nowhere a safe haven for mutants is being glassed, and Remy sacrifices himself to put a stop to it, because he's a little crazy but also well aware of what he's capable of and knows it might be their only chance to save SOME of these people who are his fellow mutants. The episode ends with his lover, Rogue--who's finally decided she agrees with Remy on things and is going to choose him and the X-Men over an alternative--holding his lifeless body in her arms.
Tech, on the other hand, dies 1/3 into an episode and vanishes from sight. Our POV character here, Omega, is injured and doesn't witness most of the ensuing escape, so when she wakes up, she demands they go back for him, crying, and we see Wrecker cry and Hunter explain he didn't make it.
...and then the episode keeps going. They're betrayed. A villain tosses Tech's broken goggles at Hunter and threatens them. Omega is captured, the remaining members of the Batch barely escape. For almost twenty minutes of runtime AFTER Tech dies, the story keeps going and has NOTHING to do with him dying (save the dig about the goggles). His death gets maybe, at most, 2 entire minutes of focus between Omega and Wrecker's reactions, Hunter's when Hemlock gives him the goggles, and Echo looking at the empty pilot's chair. That's it; for the bulk of the episode Tech's death has next to ZERO involvement in the story. It's not the climax. it's just A Thing Which Happened, and that massively devalues it from a narrative viewpoint. No one stops for more than a single breath to react to it, thus we as the audience don't.
(If anyone is winding up with 'that's because they can't due to the everything', this is why it's NOT GOOD WRITING. If you want the death to matter to your viewers/audience then you need to MAKE the time for it in your story, somehow. This isn't real life, you DO in fact control the horizontal and the vertical when making your plot.)
In X-Men 97, the death is the immediate focus of the next episode and a character's entire arc of the ensuing episodes. In TBB, it's a footnote.
In the following X-Men 97 episode, Remy has a funeral which Rogue doesn't attend, not because she doesn't care but because she's off raging against the machines, trying to find those responsible and kill them. There's a gorgeous eulogy for Remy, some thinking back on who he was and what he meant to them, a friend angry at Rogue for not being with them. It's so good. We cut to Rogue, absolutely furious with grief and looking to take it out on, well, everyone. She winds up putting herself into a coma as a result.
Literally nothing like this happens for Tech. Nothing close. There's a several month timeskip in S3 eps 1-3 which negates any immediate mourning or revelations to people who wouldn't know (Crosshair, Phee, Shep and Lyana), and we see NONE of Wrecker, Hunter, OR Echo's processing. Just what we saw in Plan 99, which again, is almost nothing. For a main character who as of S2 had the third most screen time of any character.
In X-Men 97, Remy keeps coming up as someone to remind them of what they're fighting for, what he would want for them. Tech is a skillset and a pair of goggles.
Remy is the first thing on Rogue's mind when she wakes up from her coma. She's instantly grieving him all over again, and mentions him numerous times throughout the remaining episodes as someone who wouldn't want this for them, or would have hoped for that. He's a guide for her even though he's gone. The rest of the characters reflect on him off and on--not his skills or abilities, but who he was, his nature. Remy's death completely changes Rogue's behaviors, almost 180 degrees, as well.
Tech is mentioned for what he could do, not what he liked or didn't like, how he felt about things, save for once: when Phee reveals he told her all about Crosshair. This is the only time someone talks about him like people talk about Remy in X-Men 97, and it happens twelve episodes after he died.
No one's actual narrative course changes trajectory in the case of Tech's death either. No one is shown making different decisions based on his loss (just the lack of his skills), no one is bringing him up as a rallying call for themselves, nothing. He is excised from the show in terms of his emotional, character impact. The loss is of someone who can decrypt things or knows stuff, not of a beloved sibling.
Remy's presence remains throughout the rest of X-Men 97, despite him dying in episode 5 of 10. Tech vanishes and becomes an occasional reason they have to do something the hard way and a background prop.
If you want to know how to actually write a main character death and have it MATTER and make it good story telling, watch X-Men 97.

BAD BAD BATCH SEASON 3, EP 8 SPOILERS
FENNEC SHAND
Total bitch. But effective bounty hunter.
Props to her cutting the wires on the pontoon boat.
Boo to her nasty remark:
Hunter "Money isn't everything."
Fennec: "That's cause you don't have any."
He didn't clap back. Too tired? Or, he KNOWS he's got a family and a place on Pabu where money isn't really even super important.
In fact, she even asked him about Omega. Back in S2 she seemed to be bantering with Omega about having to be careful, especially if you are on your own. It seemed she was speaking about herself too.
She also alluded to Omega being taken. But didn't elaborate if that was when Cad Bane or Hemlock took her.
The person Fennec spoke to via the garbled or distorted transmission at the end:
Could it be Tech? Or Clone Trooper X?
I tried to turn up my TV as loud as possible to hear the voice, but I think it was distorted intentionally to keep us guessing.
The music playing was ominous, so there is a chance it was nefarious. But it wouldn't seem to be the Empire as she wouldn't need to phrase the question about the "Empires M-Count" the way she did.
Fennec to Wrecker and Hunter: "You can either fight me or trust me. Your choice.". Then she salutes them as her ship pulls out of the hangar.
It would be kind of cool to see them all work together again. Good bickering teammates.
**********
CROSSHAIR AND OMEGA
While I like the message of reaching out to others for help. I didn't like the narrative of having to "fix yourself with meditation/possible Force power" if Crosshair indeed does have PTSD.
This series is veterans of war coded. PTSD is something many came home with and struggled/will struggle with for the rest of their lives. There is no quick fix.
I'm hoping Omega will be supportive, but Crosshair may have to accept not being a perfect killing machine in exchange for being an imperfect loving human being.
We will see..
********
PHEE
This saddens me so much: The lack of serious conversation or even a memorial moment for the loss of a central character and potential love interest.
Yeah, it's a kids/young adults show. But even then effective grief representation could have been written in.
The clones (many of which were nameless) in TCW S7 who went down with the Tribunal got a final resting place tribute marker with their helmets.
There could have been one for Tech on Pabu with his Goggles. Perhaps he would have had a place in the Archium? And a moment of silence with the whole Batch, Phee, Lyana, and Shep. He helped save the people of Pabu and rebuild after the Tsunami.
********
That's all I got to say about this episode.
What's everyone's thoughts about it???

beta: Inquisitor
“Bit like a fox, that one. Fast, pointy, and brightly colored.”
Oleander “Olly” Trevelyan (‘Foxtrot’ if you’re Varric.) Inquisitor. Human noble.
Male. He/Him/His. Pansexual. 11 Harvestmere, 9:14 Dragon Ostwick, Free Marches. Rogue; duel wield. Assassin.
FC: Alexander Skarsgard, circa early True Blood. Eyes: Pale blue, purple towards the center in the right light. Hair: Platinum blond, verging on white. Shoulder blade-length, usually in a messy ponytail. Very fine. Skin: Incredibly pale. Does not tan. Does not freckle. Will only crisp like bacon. Calloused hands. Height: 6'2" Build: Tall, leggy. Broad shouldered, tapered waist. Well built, but built more for sprinting and ambushing than for direct melee combat. Notable Details: Crooked nose; broke it when he was younger. Scar through his right eyebrow. Has albinism. Voice: Graverobber from Repo! The Genetic Opera
Positives: Unambiguously friendly, assuming he hasn’t been given a reason to be wary or hostile; generally fairly accepting and open to strangers and newcomers. Resilient, physically and mentally; he bounces back from most things fairly quickly, his good cheer only mildly dinged. Independent and very curious; he genuinely wants to know as much about the people around him as they’ll let him get away with. Diplomatic; good at figuring out what concessions can and should be made, and knows when to put his foot down if someone is trying to push things too far. Negatives: He’s a bona fide little shit; you know he’s your friend because he will give you unending amounts of well-meaning shit until you regret using the word ‘friend’ anywhere where he can hear you. As such, he can be prone to getting on peoples nerves and it only gets worse when he’s nervous. Self-sacrificing dip, quite willing to ignore his own needs for extended periods if acknowledging them would cause distress; he takes his self-assigned role as the morale officer a touch too seriously. Stubborn and sometimes naive; too willing to believe a situation has taken a turn for the better when it probably hasn’t, equally unwilling to say a situation has gotten worse when it has. Had a sheltered upbringing; he means no harm, but can be tactless and clueless around elves, dwarves, and qunari. Neutrals: Fairly chummy. Usually wears his heart on his sleeve. Extroverted and incredibly social. Energetic. Very tactile and at ease about physical contact. Optimist vs. Pessimist: Usually an optimist, though he tries to be a realist. Quirks: Wears glasses at home/base. Usually wears dark goggles and/or a hood if he’s in the field; can be seen shading his eyes with his hand, papers, or anything convenient if he’s outside and doesn’t have his goggles. Hard of hearing; watches people intently when they’re talking to him. He can and will snap his fingers in someone’s face to remind them to look at him while they’re talking. Knows Ostwick-specific sign language. Very partial to a sickle and a hook blade, rather than straight blades. Gesticulates a lot while speaking.
Religion: Loosely Andrastian; believed less and less as the events progressed. Likes: Clothing with high-quality materials, even if his color choices can be questionable. Foxes. Fennecs. One hell of a sweet tooth. Warm weather yeah Skyhold was a hit. History. Art, of various types. Dislikes: People who mumble. Ambient noise, especially a lot of people talking over each other. Masks. Dark colors. Red wine. Cold weather, and especially snow he can’t fucking see. Feeling useless or like he’s in the way. Favorite Colors: Red. Yellow. Orange. Gold. Hobbies: Chess. Reading. Drawing. Getting into peoples business and generally being a puppy. Recreational parkour; can frequently be found on ledges, on roofs, or up trees at random times. Falconry. Writes letters home a lot.
Family: Estelle Trevelyan (mother). Everell Trevelyan (father). Steed: Citrine; hunter-shade dracolisk. Other Critters: Verity; hunting falcon. Romance: None. Friends: Dorian. Solas. Varric. Cassandra. Cullen. Note: Was and still is very close with his parents. Grew up as an only child, but I headcanon that his parents took in a handful of the youngest mages to escape from Ostwick’s Circle, to keep them safe.*everything in this sectioncan of course be tweaked or disregarded entirely for specific threads, if you’d rather.
