Hardersson x Teen!Reader
Summary: Your first match for Sweden
"And Sweden is making a substitute. On comes y/n Harder, Arsenal's youngest forward. Blackstenius makes way."
It's your first match for Sweden, the first of Sweden's euro qualifiers as well.
You high five Stina on your way onto the pitch.
It's a late substitution, maybe five minutes or so until the ninety minutes are up so you know you're the last kind of hail mary before this ends in a draw.
You pass some of your Arsenal teammates on the way to the corner that's being set up.
It's hardly the first time you've worn a Sweden jersey. You were a staple on the youth teams. You always had been.
Your first long term foster family had gotten you into football. They'd sorted you out with kit and gear and put you into a kid's football club to see if you liked it.
You really liked it.
Their foster license expired and you got moved but you never left your football behind.
Some families were more into it than others but none of them stopped you from pursuing your football.
Least of all Magda and Pernille.
You knew Magda from a distance when the senior team had come down to help out with whatever youth team you were on at the time. It was almost like fate that you got placed with her and Pernille over the summer.
It had been the best summer of your life both emotionally and physically.
They worked on your game while they were off season. They helped you with your studies and they took you out to the arcade and the beach and anywhere you wanted to go.
You didn't want to leave.
They didn't want you to leave.
There was a bunch of red tape around it, lots of meetings with lawyers and the judge and your care worker but by the time the next season rolled around, you had a new last name and two mothers.
Now, you're here.
Playing in Wembley Stadium for Sweden with Momma's last name emblazoned on your back.
You weave between Morsa and Johanna, slotting between them during the jostling to get into position.
The ball comes in and you make the jump.
It gets cleared away and England are on the counter attack quickly.
Magda peels away from your side quickly to sprint down the pitch to intercept while you follow at a more sedate pace.
Defending is not your role and you're not the greatest at it.
You've been bought onto this pitch for one thing and that's to score a goal.
You pass Lotte on your way and exchange a small smile with her. You've still got to go back to North London after this and you and Lotte are friends.
Morsa recovers the ball quickly and boots it up the pitch.
Most of your team was concentrated in your half of the pitch so the ball falls neatly to your feet.
You can feel Lotte at your back quickly, almost too quick for you to react but you turn even quicker, keeping the ball out of her reach.
You don't have any backup as you drive forward into the box.
Greenwood slides in for the tackle but you jump over neatly with the ball practically attached to your feet.
Charles and Bronze start closing in as you lose Lotte behind you.
The angle's getting tighter and tighter and Earps starts coming towards you to collect the ball.
You've driven into the box so quickly that there were no reinforcements for you to pass to.
So, you kicked the ball upwards just as Earps comes out.
The ball sores over her head before landing and rolling into the empty goal.
The Sweden supporters go wild as, seconds later, the ref blows the final whistle.
You scored.
The familiar arms of Morsa wraps around you from behind as you celebrate.
"Debut goal!" She cheers as the rest of the team finally run over.
You laugh. "Do you think Momma was watching?"
Of course she was.
She couldn't travel to watch, not with preparing for her own Euro qualifiers but your phone is ringing by the time you get back to the locker room.
"Hi," You say as you pick up, Pernille's face filling the screen.
"Debut goal," She teases and you look down bashfully.
"That's what Morsa said."
"It's impressive," Pernille says.
You roll your eyes. "It's my job."
"Still impressive. Don't sell yourself short."
"I'm a Harder," You reply," It's what we do."
Pernille grins at you, face full of pride. "Don't do that," She says," Celebrate, alright? You have my full permission to let loose and drink tonight, alright?"
You huff out a laugh. "You know most mothers wouldn't encourage underage drinking."
"I think I can make an exception tonight."

Vampire Fiddleford/Werewolf Stanley Au:
(Might be bc I’m working on a short fic for this)
- Fiddleford got bitten by a “retired” vampire bat while on a research expedition with Ford in the local cave-systems
- Ford only noticed when Fidds lashed out at him by accident (took a month or two)
- Ford attempted to look after/research a cure for him while simultaneously working on the portal by himself. Fiddleford felt bad for the stress he was indirectly putting on him, so he snuck out and stayed away for a few months until he became a bit more stable.
- Fiddleford has memory loss/amnesia from the time he first got bitten bc he was slowly going crazy from starvation
- Stan got bitten by what he thought was a Coyote when he fell asleep on a park bench (it wasn’t)
- He was then convinced he had contracted rabies, scraped his money together for a rabies shot, only to find out he didn’t have it
- Fiddleford doesn’t remember the portal incident bc of amnesia/brain fog
- Eventually fed off of vermin (felt really gross about it) until he learned to hunt
- Stan usually isn’t able to “fully turn” during full moons, he calls it “werewolf constipation”
- Caused by stress which he refuses to address
- Stan has higher hemoglobin (like wolves) so his blood tastes better so it has a distinct scent (to Fiddleford anyway)
- Full moons give him knee/back pain due to his bones shifting, takes enough ibuprofen to kill a man
- Fiddleford covers his mouth any time he smiles/laughs because he doesn’t like his fangs
- His hair still grows, but it does so extremely slowly. Meanwhile, Stan has the opposite issue.
- Ingestion of blood provides very limited blood flow to vampires but does not inhibit function (movement, breathing etc.)
- Stanley doesn’t much care for his abilities, finding them more of a nuisance. He does appreciate the heightened strength, however, but still experiences joint pain.
- Although more durable, Fiddleford is still able to get injured, they just take twice as long to heal
- Stan smells like rank BO & wet dog 80% of the time, Fiddleford tries to ignore it
- Hunting works out for both of them when they end up working together. Stan can use the meat and Fiddleford the blood.
- Stan learned how to hunt from some of the locals as he reasoned it would be similar enough to fishing. Went for it since he was low on money, and his enhanced senses made some foods taste/smell weird. Never bothered to get a hunting license.
- Stan usually keeps to himself the week before full moons when Fiddleford moves in. Mitigates the severity of said pains as he’s used to dealing with it alone & feels he doesn’t need someone to look after him.
- Stan is the one to teach Fiddleford how to hunt with his minimal experience.
- They meet after Stan has been moved in for 3 months after Ford fell into the portal. Fiddleford remembers Stanley from old pictures Ford had hidden in an old textbook (ref. Book of Bill)
- Stan only found out Fiddleford was a vampire after he caught him draining the raccoon that kept pushing over the trash cans at night
- Fiddleford found out Stan was a werewolf because he had coincidentally stepped out at the same time that night during a full moon

I CANT STOP DRAWING THESE.... GHRRRRR THESE GAY PEOPLE!!11!1!!!! explodes
erm sum headshots + explanations as to how they r during contender mode, TD, and when sandman wins his title back (2009 wii version btw......,,)
also again im still trying to figure out how 2 draw everyone so sandman might look odd lmao
the headshots themselves:

more info under cut cuz theres a lot of info
contender mode:
clementine 🍊
after working with sandman for over a decade, he's EXTREMELY confident that sandman will keep his title; he'll only lose it when he retires.
however, after seeing that star punch... he may have some doubts. but that's okay.
paperwork has been a steady stream and never ending, but that's the usual. sponsorships have been interested in little mac vs sandman, and clementine is happy to entertain the idea of more media attention.
he's excited to see his champ win another round. plus, he's got his two week vacation soon. woohoo!
sandman ⏳
he's been at the top for years. there's no one that can bring him down.
he's heard of the little guy— what was his name? little mac?— running through the circuits. he was at bald bull so far, and that fight was scheduled for next week.
sandman's not really worried. he has been training more often, just in case. clementine's been helping out a bit with that.
TD:
clementine 🍊
well, shit. there goes his vacation.
sponsorships are pulling in and out, the media somehow found out where he lives, and there's so much happening that clementine thinks he's going crazy.
clementine thought he had imagined sandman's haircut.
he hasn't slept in god knows how long; the paperwork wormed its way into when he's supposed to sleep.
and, shit, the time he ISN'T at work is spent falling back into old habits.
he's *trying* to get a meeting with sandman to discuss what the hell happened during that match, but he isn't answering any of his calls or texts.
no one has seen him, but clementine knows where he is: training.
he'll go down to where he thinks sandman is in a minute. just... he needs to lay down first.
sandman ⏳
livid doesn't cover half of how pissed he is.
he fucked up badly. lost the title he held for however long he had.
now look at him: a mess. a tired, bloody-knuckled mess.
he hasn't slept, hasn't eaten, hasn't been anywhere but his apartment and the gym.
he needs to train. even if his knuckles are bleeding, even if his body aches, even if his phone is blowing up with texts and calls and whatever else.
sandman wants his title back. that's *his* title.
fuck the sponsorships.
fuck the cameras.
fuck the money.
he's the world champ.
title won back:
clementine 🍊
he's seen a lot in his career, but a real life speedrun of a boxing career? never.
in just under a year, clementine watched someone absolutely pummel the competition, become the champion, and then retire.
while clementine was absolutely thrilled that sandman got his title back, he was worried. very worried.
knowing sandman's anger problems, especially seeing the building he broke, clementine recommended— forced— sandman into therapy. the last thing he wanted for him was his license being suspended due to anger issues in the ring.
clementine put himself back in therapy as well. surprisingly, the WVBA actually accepted both of them going into therapy. go figure.
paperwork has slowed down, but it's still there. the media is still harassing him, but that's normal.
all that matters is that sandman is fine.
and that his fuck ass haircut is gone.
sandman ⏳
the once familiar weight of the belt feels... odd.
his title is back in his hands before.
sure, his record was now 31-1, but maybe that's the reason why he feels weird.
yeah. that's why. no other reason.
no... other reason.
just focus on protecting his title from now on.
me working on this:

#punch out#bazooka-overkill#bazooka overkill#punch out wii#punch out oc#punch out!! wii#punch out wii oc#mr sandman#punch out!!#THESE GAY PEOPLE ARE MAKING ME EXPLODE#AAAAAAHHHHHHHGGG#ermmmm i hope u guys liek this..... i spent a lot of time on it blehh#:p#should i give clementine his vacation

can we get i an oc tour pretty please?
Sure!
Up first, we've got Izjik Meautammera, from Honor's Outcasts

(I'm so serious when I say these memes are the best refs I have)
She's 26 and a halawemavar selkie, which is just a selkie with catfish seasoning. Out of the four Outcasts, she's somehow both the most responsible and the most reckless. Her sense for emotion is keen, so she does her best to help everyone work through their pain, even when someone else might not notice they're upset. However, she's also the most likely to wrestle a greased elephant seal for a free beer. Let's call her the dad friend. She has a connection to a mysterious entity known as End as well, though she doesn't know much about it and would like to keep it that way. All she knows is that it gives her the ability to kill what shouldn't be able to die. Because of this ability, she was imprisoned in an undersea oubliette for eight years, alongside the man who would become her closest friend.
A man who's name is Sepo Kaiacynthus!

Sepo is a siren, though he can assume a human-like form as Izjik can. He was a priest to the god of song and drowned sailors until he burnt down the siren empress's palace and killed her daughter as revenge for the unfair execution of his brother. As punishment for this, his tongue was cut out (negating his vocal magic) and he was tossed into prison, where he met Izjik. Personality-wise, Sepo is prickly, easily aggravated, and generally grumpy. He loves to argue, even if he'd never admit it, and has a nobleman's sense of refinement tempered with a healthy dose of having lived in a pit for eight years. Together with Izjik, he took in a runaway sorcerer girl, by the name of...
Twenari Undetasib!

The daughter of the most successful smuggler on the Janazi sea, Twenari was raised as a tool more than a child due to her prodigious sorcery. When she finally broke under the strain, she ran away, pursued by her mother’s agents. She's a genius and not only a naturally talented sorcerer, but an ambitious one as well. She seeks to understand magic in all its facets, down to the most minute level. This can lead her down some dangerous paths, as she cares more about learning than her own wellbeing. Other than that though, she's a perfectly sensible and pragmatic girl (probably more so than the adult Outcasts). She can be rather awkward in social situations, as she's used to being a business asset, not a twelve-year-old. However, thankfully, she's not the face of the crew.
That distinction would go to one Djek Kagura

Djek is a 19 year old human who grew up on the streets of Fayuki after his parents abandoned him during a famine in an effort to save their six other children. This has left him with some pretty severe people pleasing problems, as he's terrified of being abandoned again. When he was fifteen, he fell in with the Tunnel Wasps (Twenari’s mother's smuggling operation), and was taken under the wing of a woman named Tyche, who forced him to commit many unsavory acts, including trying to recapture their boss's runaway daughter. Djek has a class clown sort of vibe. He's always trying to get a laugh, even if it's only as a distraction while he picks your pocket. Deep down though, he has a sensitive heart and longs for meaningful connections. He, like Twenari, is a sorcerer, though his magic is pretty measly compared to the average, and laughable compared to Twenari’s.
And that's the Outcasts quartet! They're a cute found family whose favorite hobbies include religious terrorism and uncovering maddening eldritch truths. The other group (just the MG crew, no catchy name) exists 20 years down the road from the adventures of the Outcasts, and though not directly connected, have a few similar encounters. Without further ado, here they are!
Up first is Astra DuClaire, the best witch of the borderlands

Or, at least, she says she's the best. Astra is a self-taught rune mage (hence the title witch, not mage, since she has no license) from humble beginnings. She seeks to pay off her mothers' debtor contracts, thereby releasing them from service in debtor's prison. Her personality might best be described as forceful. Astra is a loudmouthed braggart with an opinion on everything and a chip on her shoulder the size of a mountain. She believes deep down that she'll never be a truly good mage with her subpar education, so she covers this up with arrogance. Her story starts when she discovers a mysterious robot broken on the side of the road and decides to fix him up.
Said robot goes by the name of Mashal (surname Darezsho, but he doesn't know that at first)

Mashal doesn't remember anything before waking up in Astra's wagon. All he knows is his name, that he's lost, and that anything having to do with magic fills him with terrified paranoia and an urge towards violence. He seeks to discover what happened to him and who he is. Astra decides to aid him in this, and the two of them develop a friendship and later a romance on this quest. Mashal himself is rather soft-spoken, with a gentle heart that struggles to make sense of his violent instincts around magic. He has a talent for art and swordsmanship, and though his timidness can come across as weak, anyone who pushes him finds his morals are iron hard.
The third piece of this puzzle is Detevtive Ivander Montane

Born to a wealthy banking family, Ivander was always intended to follow along into the family business. When he was sixteen, he learned the truth of his family's dominance over the city of Unity's finances; the Montanes had made a deal with the god of greed. The contract Ivander signed with this god gave him the ability to call on miracles in exchange for his service. Only, when he couldn't bear hawking payday loans and convincing desperate fathers to sell their children as factory indentures any longer, he ran away. This default on his divine contract caused a curse to befall him. Slowly, Ivander's flesh is being eaten away and turned into smoke. This leaves him in terrible pain, though he covers his disfigurement with an illusion. Now 30 years old and disillusioned, Ivander works for the Unity Bureau of Arcane Investigation. His last hope to not die and be condemned to hell lays in mysterious killer known to strip the magic from their victims. Despite the horrors he's endured, there's still some good deep down in Ivander's heart. He's an incorrigible gossip, a selfish fop, and avoids emotional intimacy like the plague, however, he still loosely holds his childhood dream of helping people.
The next two characters are introduced in book 2. Sadly, I don't have funny little portraits for them yet.
First up is Elsind Cavernsight!

Elsind is a 20 year old changeling working for the Salis Legion of the People (a Skysheerian revolutionary group) as an infiltrator and spy. In Skysheer, changelings are frequently exploited, and like many of her kind, Elsind was kidnapped from a life with her loving elven mother at 13 to be used as a marquis's court freak. When they were 18, an SLP cell robbed the mansion they were kept in, and Elsind took a chance and escaped with them. Since then, he's been a loyal soldier fighting for his nation's freedom from tyranny. You might expect such a figure to be tough and jaded, but Elsind is nothing of the sort. They're a chatterbox, cry when nervous, and can't help but empathize with nearly everyone. They also have a deep appreciation for cheap romance novels.
On the other side of the coin, we have Duchon Avymere Kalaphon Spearsong III

Avymere is the Duchon of Salis (gender neutral form of Duke/Duchess), only child of the Archduke Eluan Spearsong. They are 153 years old and have been expertly manipulating the Salis gentry for nearly all of that time. To the court, they are a kindhearted, if ditzy, noble, who seems content to spend the rest of their days making social calls and practicing their odd martial arts hobby. In private, however, Avymere is a peerless spy who uses their unassuming persona to gather information for their father, to whom they are faultlessly loyal. They view themself as a servant of their people - more a tool than a person with wants and dreams. Despite their good intentions though, there is a disconnect between Avymere and the reality of Skysheer. They would consider easing tariffs to be a generous act, when in truth, most Skysheerians couldn't care less about foreign goods, and are more concerned with not starving or freezing to death.
And that's all the main characters! This turned out to be longer than I expected, but please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I also have their full bios (not Avymere or Elsind though, still gotta get on that) linked in my intro post, if you'd like a more in-depth look at anyone. Thanks for the ask, and you have yourself a bitchin day!

Of all the Swiss watch brands, Omega is perhaps most adept at strategic leaks. (See: Daniel Craig showing off a new, unreleased Seamaster and Speedmaster.) So our antennas were raised when it was announced that actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson—one of the leading candidates to succeed Craig as 007—is now officially an Omega brand ambassador. It could merely be a huge coincidence or a sign of things to come…Of course, such a signing isn’t a sure thing re James Bond. Taylor-Johnson is a big deal in his own right and few brands are as aggressive as Omega when it comes to snapping up talent. The brand could very well have added him to its staple by simple virtue of his significant talent as a thespian. But given the Swiss watchmaker’s proclivity for teasing significant news via its brand ambassadors, we’re inclined to think otherwise.Taylor-Johnson has been rumored to take over as 007 for years now. His name has been throw around with such frequency that even Pierce Brosnan gave him a co-sign. Plus, Taylor-Johnson checks all the boxes: tall, British, handsome… and now he’s even got the right watches. Then again, the Bond role is perhaps the most important lead of any film franchise on the planet, and those leading the franchise, which is now under Amazon’s control, has a habit of picking what initially seem less than sure things. (It turned out beautifully with Craig, much to the chagrin of many who derided his…blondness.)Courtesy of OmegaOur only horological hint that ATJ is perhaps not the next fictional MI6 agent with a license to kill is the watch he wore to Omega’s manufacturer. The actor wore a Speedmaster First OMEGA in Space on a brown leather strap (ref. 310.32.40.50.06.002). The FOiS is a modern take on the ref. CK 2998, the first Speedmaster worn outside the Earth’s atmosphere back in 1962. It predates the “twisted-lug” case that debuted with the ref. 105.012 in 1964 and still graces nearly every Speedmaster through the modern era. (With notable exceptions, of course.)While this is an excellent, vintage-inspired Speedy with serious horological cred, Bond (the character) is an ex-Royal Navy man and a loyal Seamaster wearer. Perhaps outfitting Taylor-Johnson in a dive watch before any news is confirmed would’ve been too on the nose? With Amazon now in control of the Bond franchise, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Bezos & Co. as to Taylor-Johnson’s future as 007. In the meantime, however, watch this space—at the very least, we should expect some cool new watches teased on his wrist in the coming years.John Krasinki’s IWC IngenieurKristina Bumphrey/Getty ImagesCourtesy of Ilaria UrbinatiSpotted at the NYC premier of his new film, the Guy Ritchie-directed Fountain of Youth, John Krasinski rocked the new IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 in 18K 5N gold. Having tried this thing on during its debut Watches and Wonders 2025, we can attest to the fact that it absolutely rocks. Measuring 40 mm in diameter and paired to a matching gold bracelet, it features a black dial with the collection’s signature “grid” pattern, a 3 o’clock date window, and the automatic IWC cal. 32111 movement with 120 hours of power reserve. Based roughly upon the original Ingenieur SL designed by Gérald Genta in the ‘70s, it marries tool watch bona fides with nearly $50K worth of gold. (Hey, if you’re gonna go looking for the Fountain of Youth, you may as well do it in style, no?)Steph Curry’s IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Lake TahoeEllen Schmidt/Getty ImagesSteph Curry’s injury during round two of the NBA playoffs had one small silver lining. Freed from shooting preposterous threes, the all-time guard was able to prove his horological bona fides on the bench. Exhibit A: his IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar TOP GUN Lake Tahoe Curry. This positively enormous, 46.5mm ceramic timepiece pairs the IWC pilot’s watch case shape and heritage with the sophistication of a perpetual calendar module accurate until the year 2100. Colored ceramics have become an increasingly huge deal in the watch industry in recent years and this all-white case remains one of the most stunning executions out there. This Lake Tahoe colorway celebrates the white uniforms of U.S. naval aviation personnel.Austin Butler’s Breitling Chronomat 32Daniele VenturelliCourtesy of BreitlingSince becoming a Breitling ambassador, Austin Butler keeps pushing things smaller. He started his tenure with the brand by introducing the Top Time B31, one of the smallest men’s pieces in the brand’s lineup. This week, at Cannes to celebrate the premiere of his new film Eddington, Butler wore the Chronomat 32, a small, quartz-powered version of a watch that the brand originally designed for the Italian Frecce Tricolori Jet team in the 1980s. Available in a wide variety of case sizes, metals, configurations, colors, and more, the Chronomat is notable for the four “rider tabs” that appear on its bezel, which serve to protect the crystal when handling the watch and make bezel manipulation easier with gloved hands. Butler’s Chronomat 32, in particular, features steel construction, a cream-colored dial, and a “Rouleaux” bracelet with a butterfly clasp. And while not necessarily a dress watch, it looked killer with his tux.ASAP Rocky’s Bvlgari Monete Catene High Jewellery Secret WatchDaniele VenturelliIt’s official: ASAP Rocky won Cannes by virtue of his timepiece, a Bvlgari Monete Catene High Jewellery Secret Watch. What’s so cool about it, you ask? Made of gold and absolutely frosted with diamonds, it hides its mother-of-pearl dial behind a nearly 2,000-year-old denarius of Caracalla, a Roman emperor from the second/third centuries AD. Furthermore, this is a mechanical piece powered by the brand’s Picolissimo hand-wound mechanical manufacture micro-movement. It’s jewelry; it's historical; it's beautiful; it's horologically compelling. It’s dope as hell. Hopefully we can expect more “secret” watches on the red carpet after this sartorial gauntlet drop! POLAR I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR OCS AND SEE THEIR CONCEPT ART‼️ please I need food, I need to eat your art sjdhhsjdhsj /lh
GRAHH FINE SINCE YOU ASKED… my lore. Sorry this is so late gngahgahshsjsh… you literally caught me as dinner came home. Like. Oops… crazy… right after I knocked out shekhrkdbddmbd anyway! :)
Under the cut because it may or may not be a long thing, with most plot points just being little ideas—no fully fleshed story, just, erm. Ideas I like.
Update. It’s long. Also tumblr is so glitchy rn it kept making this saved post disappear and then reappear in my asks after I exited the app and opened it again what the fuck 😭😭
So, in this world, a majority of the population do. Not. Have powers, having them is seen as a blessing, But… It's a dystopian themed world—where these powers are incredibly monitored and regulated by the government—with some being minor, and some being full on changes to the physical body and how they manifest. (ie. My excuse for drawing anthros… or kemonomimi… shushhhh/also allows me to just dump all of my ocs which you may have seen before, in one little world and play with them like they’re my puppets :( I love them sm!! One of them sora is from DND they hold a special place in my heart...)
But again, having these powers is seen as a blessing from a God of some sort—and a curse, as while they’re regulated by the national government heavily, some individuals still manage to slip by, or cause harm to the general public, so from this, they (the gov) took advantage of this to instill a system of ‘heroes’ and ‘villains’ there’s a few ‘vigilantes’ but most either become heroes (through turning themselves in and doing plenty of community service work, and discussing a contract with some government representatives—most who become heroes are never the same. They always have a look in their eyes, as if valor to help their nation has blinded them), but some may become villains.
Heroes are those who just have a license and have signed a contract with the government—most get these contracts renewed or take a small few month break in between contract renewals. They’re unable to use their powers in these circumstances, unless it’s out of self defense. Civilians can too (those not heroes, are regulated by the government heavily, and choose not to pursue it. But it’s like US NAVAL contracts too. you can join programs in the gov that give you supplemental access and benefits to college/pay it off, etc etc etc. like the national guard but more celebritized), but they (civilians) need to find a GOOD lawyer. There’s so many laws that heroes are naturally given a smalllllll pass over, that it’s just best to run away, or be a hero in that small instance.
(This has sm mha influence. As sad as it is, that show influenced me sm. Got me into trying art. Fr fr/on digital. PLA is just where it improved a weeee bit).
OKAYYY ENOUGH AGOUT THE SET UP!! THE CHARACTERS… I’m so sorry idk why I’m rambling this much, I’m not even hyperfixated on my own OCs. Like what the fuck.
Anyways! A key note is that having bright colored hair is a key identification that you probably have powers that haven’t manifested yet, and the hair is always a bright color, unless, you’re Astor!
He’s got so much trauma *slaps roof of car.* You can fit so much trauma in this one bad boy. And despite it all he remains a good person. Dawg. You have more strength then I’d ever have. But igggg the want and need to help people because you were hurt and want to make a change does seem motivation enough… anyways. They’re so marysue coreee

The main character & a small-time vigilante going to the new school that’s just been set up. His hair only really turns those bright colors when she’s using their powers—but in the ref it’s just for convenience sake. She has so many skeletons in her closet, that they can’t risk being caught. But they love helping people too much. They’re a bit altruistic.
Here’s their vigilante suit ref :)

For ease of mind, they always have a small bit of static on their hands—both to stun new people meeting them. To make the air feel charged with thunder and electricity—a warning to her presence, and because it means their hair stays that color. No matter the charge. His eyes stay the same color though. Again. These are some old doodles from last year of some characters. Notably, that I also revamped. Heroes, villains, and vigilantes stories always hold a special place in my heart,,,
Next up is Anzu! Silly goober!!! Please give him head pats!!!! He loves it!!! This is Astor’s only… real friend. Since Astor likes his solitude. But tolerates Anzu’s silly behavior. Utter dichotomy between them!!! <333 I haven’t decided if they’d get together or nah, but! <3333

Yeah, this guy (and Astor) both have autism (I didn’t even realize that him liking trains was an autistic stereotype… oops. Mb gang. But like. Seriously. Ywah didn’t mean anything by it. I’m autistic myself and I’m possibly pursuing physics or engineering 💪💪 I think it’s alr if I project onto a character I made 🔥🔥🙏)
Yes, he’s based on the irl dinosaur. Yes, he’s autistic, hear me out. I just put lots of things together. And he just ended up with major tism 🔥🙏
And finally, a hero I designed :) I changed her a weeee bit. But she’s mostly the same sand manipulation :) villains dislike her since she puts sand in their shoes. Her big container is full of sand and stuff. She doesn’t have a weakness other then she needs to be a bit concentrated on making her sand creations—but they’re like second nature to her because of how long she’s been a hero. She’s an antagonist only because she’s trying to take Nexus in. She sees how sweet she can be to the native cats (from a distance. Never touching them, and she never knows why, they look at the native cats, longing to pet them but always stops) so she wants to take him in and make a case for him to join the government’s hero program.

Arizona! But her hero name is Sahara yk… Yeagh…. Anyways :) I love her lots. She does mean well. But she’s also blindly faithful in the government, or will see its problems and will deflect or try to be better to make things right. But she always holds rules above anything else. Even if she cares about someone who’s breaking them, a lot, so yeah… totally not talking about the mentor and mentee relationship between her and Nexus… where she pushes her morals aside just to listen to him seldom talk about his intrepid interests.
If Nexus didn’t have those powers—in her opinion—she would’ve made an excellent leader in whatever field he’d want to pursue. And she knows he’s got something up with them—some history. And that breaks her heart a little seeing how much pure joy Nexus gets at being able to try new things, like new foods, or try out purely common things that should be normal to a kid like herself.
Very much love found families and going to the extreme for them :33
ANYWAYS!!! Those are the main 3. I have some others I’ll show. But yk. They look a wee bit different + have names labeling them and the key parts of them. I don’t think tumblr would like me dropping all their refs :,)

Actually :O hold on, their refs are here. Trust

I’m so smart for pasting them all here. Trust anyways. Those are my pookies, so sorry this took so long.. erm I like them a lot. Oh yeah, I made a comic with them for art class. Yeagh. They were mostly changed for ease of drawing but yeah. I did not want to do it but I had not wanted to do this 🚬🚬

But yeah, pookies…. Sorry you probably didn’t want this comprehensive lore about them grrr

Chapter 9: Blitz Took Rachel Shopping At Some Point
Percy wasn’t happy.
But after a very brief argument with Annabeth, he’d had to concede that it was like trying to find a red needle in a stack of mortals.
So they were heading off to Boston. Argus handed the keys over, only blinking a few suspicious eyes at them as Percy showed off his license. Percy had sadly understood the confusion, the lady before him that day had smelled way to suspicious of illegal substances and it had lingered, he looked like he was trying to smile, breathe through his mouth, and show off his teeth all at once while forgetting the question he’d just been asked. It wasn’t a face he was happy to repeat on inspection.
Someone had repainted the buses recently to draw in more business in the wintertime. They were now bright pink, the strawberries painted all over with adorable cartoon faces, some even had googly eyes jostling in place with sunshine smiles and green hats. Percy’s promise not to crash it had sounded like a lie to his own ears as he started the engine.
At least he got to drive, as the other two made no claims.
Jason had remained silent through the ordeal of them bickering over eclairs and coffee as the bus wound its way through mid-morning traffic.
“I’m going to rip that horn out if you do that again,” Annabeth groaned from the seat behind him, still swaying from the motion of his lane change. “The Harpies don’t use it half as much as you!”
“It was a valid call ref,” Percy shrugged, nearly taking the bumper off a little hamster car with him as he swerved behind to make his exit.
Jason waited until they were through the worst of it and the green tinge to Annabeth’s face had faded, as well as her cussing out half the universe to a dull mutter, to ask, “did you guys dream last night?”
“No,” Annabeth said with a miserable frown, toying with the beads of her necklace once more. There was a red coral pendent there that looked like a real ruby flashing about. He’d almost rather she finger the hilt of her knife strapped in place, that felt less ominous. Even though Jason had never seen them before, they looked right, made her look whole again.
“Nada,” Percy agreed, though he at least sounded relieved not to have any more twisted nightmares from his ‘not dad.’
“I dreamed I was back at the Wolf House,” it felt like a confession, though it was nothing to really hide. “I saw this enormous wolf, twice the size of any of them there. She promised me I was on the right path now, but she wouldn’t offer me any help.” He kept the craziest part to himself, worried they’d tell Thalia. She wouldn't take it well if she heard him refer to some animal as his mother, but that’s what he’d felt when he looked at Lupa. The she-wolf was the closest thing to family he’d had before he’d lost himself, he’d woken up sure of it.
“I’ve heard of Lupa,” Annabeth agreed, she’d already tried to get a bit of studying on Rome’s history in, if not as much as she liked. Curse her easy proneness to car sickness or she’d still be studying now. “It’s odd she got a message to you when the rest of the gods either can’t or won’t still.” Her nails ripped up some polyester when the bus went up on two wheels to make a hairpin turn. Neither of them looked out the window to see why Percy had made that decision.
They weren’t exactly sure what park they were looking for, and it was hard to believe anyone would be waiting there in this weather that constantly spat ice and rain down all day as they searched, but when they finally rumbled into the strange town of Boston, it only took them a few hours to hunt around all of them and find them. They sort of stuck out.
Percy barely took the time to throw the bus in park, and it still skidded a few feet on the ice and rested on the sidewalk anyways as he jumped out. “Rachel!”
She was in a downy teal jacket that somehow made her startling red curls a fashionable accessory for once, and the marker littered jeans seem artful instead of erratic. She was sitting on a duck statue just out of the stormy gloom and watching a stout man intently when she whipped around and went running to meet Percy.
They collided and went down in a pile of snow and laughter from the ice, but helped each other up quickly still hugging and trying to out talk the other, Annabeth and Jason smiling all the while.
“-found myself in Pakistan,” she was explaining, still a little breathless.
“What?” Percy asked blankly.
Rachel laughed again and clapped her hands together to chase the snow out of her matching gloves. Which was strange. She never wore anything matching unless she was in her school uniform. “So glad I still get to see that confused look, book or no book. It’s the largest dam in the world. I think Oceanus was aiming for the Hoover dam? Maybe he was listening in? Honestly Percy, who can say,” she rolled her eyes and didn’t seem particularly concerned at having found herself halfway across the world. “I only just got here this morning from all the flight connections I had to make.”
“Why are you here?” Annabeth asked with polite puzzlement, still studying her first elf with deep interest more than paying attention to the two; despite the fact she had half a dozen questions ready for Rachel on such a landmark in her back pocket.
“Don’t know,” she confessed. “I was making my way towards Camp, but I just had this hunch when I was at my last terminal.” She shrugged and looked back at the two. “I found them here, and we got to talking. They seemed to guess I wasn’t just another crazy art student somehow. I’m sure you’ve guessed, this is Blitz, and Hearth.”
“I’ve got a nose for that kind of thing,” the stouter of the two agreed, his dark skin and wild black beard hiding most of his face.
“Hey man, glad you’re okay, Magnus was pretty worried about you,” Percy grinned at Hearth. “Where’d you land?”
“Some all girls school,” Blitz answered, his voice remaining gruff as he studied Annabeth.
Rachel barely smothered a giggle as she explained, “mine, to be exact.”
“I’m going to kill that Titan,” Percy sighed. They never would have found him there!
Hearth signed something else. Not one of them had a clue what, but it didn’t look like he was offering to bring them to a taco joint as far as Percy could tell to explain how he’d wound up here next.
Then he waved his hand impatiently at them, and Blitz reluctantly seemed to ask a question that he knew the answer to as he kept studying the three of them. His voice was bleak. “Where's the kid?”
Annabeth’s tears froze in the corner of her eyes, her voice choked on nothing.
“We promised him you’d have a safe place to call home if you wanted,” Percy said. “I’m making good on that,” he gestured back to the bright bus, he’d only lost one googly eye on the ride, glad his girlfriend had a strong stomach and it wouldn’t smell like vomit, or strawberries.
The two exchanged a look, and their hopes plummeted like those stone ducks would if they were dumped in the pond even before they shook their heads.
“Please,” Annabeth stepped forward, offering out her hand. “I’m sorry, I want to explain, and we want to help you.”
“We don’t need help,” Blitz said not unkindly. “He was under our protection, and I’m glad you two got a chance to get to know each other.”
Hearth signed something and pointed at the tree. Blitz nodded and went back to studying Annabeth. “Did he die with a weapon in his hands?”
Annabeth looked down at her palm in confusion, before she shook her head.
This clearly troubled both of them more than the obvious news he was dead. Hearth signed something else, and Percy and Jason knew one of those. He was asking something about Alex.
“Alex did,” Jason said firmly. “He died protecting one of our friends.”
“Then that’s where we’ll start,” Blitz nodded his thanks and turned to walk off.
“At least come to camp for a few days, just, just so you know where to find it,” Annabeth tried, but there was defeat in her voice Percy loathed to hear.
“Oh, we’ve got our ways of finding places we need to,” Blitz assured. “You look after yourself Annabeth.”
“How did you-” but she stopped and smiled at Hearth, who nodded and waved farewell. They walked towards the tree, and then like the world bent out of shape to mess with them, suddenly the two were gone. They wanted to blame their exit on the Mist, but somehow they felt it was something else, something different than what they could even comprehend. Just like everything else about Alex and Magnus since the moment they’d met.
“They’re going to try and find him in their afterlife,” Percy said, a chill running down his spine that had nothing to do with the tree dripping ice down his jacket.
“I hope Nico’s back by now,” Jason said grimly. “We’ve got way too many people going underground when they couldn't possibly be doing it at the worst time.”
Percy put his arm around Annabeth and turned to Rachel. “Nice jacket.”
“Thanks, Blitz picked it out.” Rachel grinned. “He’s got an amazing sense of style, though according to him he’s a special dwarf.”
Nobody even blinked. It really just made too much sense at this rate. “How many days you got left for your winter break?” He asked instead.
“A week,” she said in relief. “It’s high time I get to enjoy some of it!”
“Yeah, about that,” Percy sighed as they began trudging back to the bus. Annabeth kept sniffing and looking over her shoulder, but tucked her hands into his pockets all the same. “We didn’t exactly get early parole for good behavior…”

Tell me about Harper, your One piece oc!
THERE IS SO MUCH LORE TO HER. OH MY GOD. also a lot of details i don't go over (primarily from age 8-10) since it's super sensitive and traumatic
!!! also general trigger warning brief drug mentions and for abuse of all kinds (including slavery and anything regarding the Celestial Dragons in One Piece) !!!
yapping below cut!!
okay so she's a harp seal fishman first off!
ref below! also in the corner is her (8) and her older sister Carrine! (whom i just realized i didn't add her spots...)

she is 6'9 feet tall and 20, she's a doctor (not licensed but what crew doc in one piece is licensed) and keeps track of a lot of stuff for her crew! (nobody follows her diet plans even when she asks nicely).
to go chronologically, she was born in the Ryugu Kingdom (aka Fishman Island). she was primarily taken care of by her older sister, Carrine as their mother was (and still is) an addict. Carrine had a necklace with a great white shark tooth attached to it, belonging to her childhood friend (Hody).
when the girls were 8 and 18, they were sold to a Celestial Dragon (and enslaved). soon after they were bought off by one of the Gorosei, Nusjuro.
when Carrine refused to do something for Nusjuro, she was shot in the face in front of Harper. all she got to keep was the necklace Carrine gave to Harper when they were first enslaved in case anything happened to Carrine.
after roughly 2 years, consisting of every kind of abuse, Harper was sent to the Marines when she was 10. she was put in a branch that my bf and i made called the Navy Seals, a branch made up mostly of enslaved seal fishmen.
there she met Leo, her future adoptive father and captain, and Ellen, a future crewmate. together, they escaped and formed their crew, the Seal Pirates. from then on, Harper studied medicine to help others!
!! regarding events / arcs / sagas in One piece !!
The Seal Pirates were working for the Donquixote Pirates, originally they were watching over Caesar Clown experiments on Punk Hazard, until the Strawhats showed up. they ran off to alert Doflamingo in Dressrosa, then staying on alert and on watch for the Strawhats. they made a quick escape when Doflamingo was fighting Luffy.
then the crew ran off to Wano, specifically Onigashima as Doflamingo was working with / for the Beast Pirates. they clashed a lot with the crew, but remained with them for protection until the Strawhats showed up (again), where then they had minor clashes with the Strawhats and the alliance they had, running out of Wano when the raid began.
after Wano, i'm not sure where they are going as the manga is still going ^_^! Harper generally works as a doctor for the crews her crew works for and teaches first aid / medical classes for people in the local area or said crew. While in Wano, Harper was stationed at the prison in Udon with All-Star Queen.
that's all for my yap session!
bonus seal pup! (not sure what seal though..)

I just wanted to put in a couple of cents for claim 4 "England had a homophobic propaganda campaign against Italian tourism because Italy was turning their kids gay" but it's complicated and comes in a couple of parts.
There was a British propaganda campaign against Italian tourism but it was because of Catholicism:
In Our Time (radio show on BBC and is available online) has an episode called The Grand Tour from May 2002 which talks about some historic British anti-Italy propaganda. The show is mostly about cultural resonance of European travel to the British, but a speaker mentions a campaign against travel overseas (based mostly on xenophobia) mostly because of fears of Catholicism in Spain, France and Italy, which is the home of the Vatican and the Pope, hence ground zero for bad (~3:55 minutes in). It is in this section that the pamphlets and sermons are mentioned by Jeremy Black, Professor of History, University of Exeter (maybe he's got some references to the pamphlets and sermons in his book, The British Abroad: The Grand Tour in the Eighteenth Century which is mentioned on the show but I haven't read it).
2) Italy turning kids gay:
In Our Times doesn't discuss this.
There is further discussion about ignorant tourists behaving badly, aristocratic young men, gambling, sexually transmitted disease, drunkenness, and general sexual license while traveling which sounds like it's mostly heterosexual but homosexuality is is also mentioned. There is also discussion of people being sent abroad as way of having them behave badly outside Britain and hence using the Grand Tour a bit of a relief valve- so there was actively wanting these people to sin elsewhere, including Italy. (Like the old spring party week stereotype but Europe/Italy instead of Daytona Beach)
There is a passing reference to homosexuality as the 'Italian vice' (~19:30 but speakers did not go into why this vice is specifically considered Italian, perhaps in combination with the decriminalization of homosexuality mentioned in the Todd's video (?) but that happens toward a much later part of the period of history the show is talking about) and they refer to William Thomas Beckford, an aristocrat and writer who self-exiled after proof of his complicated sexual history appeared, and then traveled across Europe after 1784- so in this example, he was outed before he traveled to Italy and wasn't made gay by Italy (wikipedia ref).
Further, there’s a chapter in the book Italian Sexualities Uncovered, 1789–1914, called The ‘Italian Vice’: Male Homosexuality and British Tourism in Southern Italy, where the author writes that same-sex practices were thought to have originated in Italy and that "in some writings it [sodomy or pederasty] was linked to Catholicism" and maybe this connects up to the first bit but the reference here goes to an Italian document and I don't know Italian, so that's that. However, the chapter continues by claiming that British male homosexuals actively went to Italy for sex a lot (especially southern Italy, because of the social leniency before decriminalization and the lower cost of living and also the belief that because the climate is hot, so were the sexualities of the people who lived there), to the point where Italians considered pederasty “il vizio inglese” or (as google translate calls it) “the English vice.”
I still think the claim as made by Somerton is wrong and it's a little complicated to pick it apart, but I wanted to give a reference (not saying any of these is the source of Somerton's claim or wherever the person he got it from got it from).
Note, I am not a historian but I happened to have heard this episode years ago and so I went back and dug around a little bit extra on the internet to figure out where this claim came from. If actual historians want to weigh in on this (I'm sure actual historians are actually busy with other stuff), I'm all ears.
youtube
This video is important.
We all watched the hbomb vid (or at least got a summary of it) explaining how Somerton stole much of his "research" word-for-word from other queer creators and writers.
Okay, so, we unsubscribe from his channel; we've done our part; everything is cool now, right?
Unfortunately, no. The biggest damage Somerton did may not have been to those he stole from. Rather, it was inventing large swathes of LGBTQ+ history out of whole cloth, tinged with his own incel-adjacent brand of misogyny and weird anti-establishment centrism.
Worse, many of the "facts" Somerton invented are freely circulating on the internet, even on this website, and they are coloring how queers - and especially young queers - understand our own history.
So it's not enough that Somerton's empire burns and he flees with his tail between his legs. We need to actively purge all of the nonsense he injected into the discourse - out of his own personal agendas and resentments - in the years he was posing as an intellectual authority (perhaps the intellectual authority) on our history and experiences.
So give it a watch. It's not nearly as long as the hbomb video and it's neatly organized as well. Save it as a reference for the next time someone pulls out a "Somerton fact" you need to debunk.
Let's work to preserve our history from liars and charlatans.
#james somerton#history#wrong#todd in the shadows#italy#in our time#the grand tour#a little bit of a correction#expanded comment from the video#commenting on this took a lot more time that I really wanted to spend but I wanted to make sure I got as much correct as I could

In addition we have the 51% rule in Sweden. It means clubs don't have one majority owner and is owned in majority by its members. The members have a big say in the clubs and the annual member meeting is the highest deciding body in the club organisation. Not the board, the club director or the chairman. The majority vote of the members can say yes or no to the board's suggestions. What is decided at the annual meetings is what the board will work with the coming year. They're accountable to the members and the members have the option to remove the board with a vote of no confidence. It's a bit more details and rules to it than this, but this is a simplified way to explain how the clubs function overall.
When Kopparbergs/Göteborg folded the women's team, the chairman and main sponsor Bronsman got offers from people who wanted to buy the club. When he explained how club football worked in Sweden, they lost interest 😂
The Swedish league is semi-professional. In some teams most players if not all play football full time, Rosengård for example. In others there's an even mix of full time paid players and those who have part time jobs or study. Some teams just have a few full time players while in others there are no full time players at all.
All head coaches are required to have a Uefa Pro license, the highest there is in Europe.
The double clubs in Sweden with both a men's and women's senior team have been slow to start investing in women's football. Häcken is the first to make the same resources available for both the men and women. Hammarby has come around in recent years but not too long ago, they were yoyo-ing between the top tier and the relegation league.
For the refs, we have 2 female refs who are full time refs. Tess Olofsson is the most known of the two. She reffed at the World cup and is a CL ref. She's also reffing men's elite football in Sweden.
The league was expanded from 12 to 14 teams a couple of years ago. Two teams are relegated and a third gets to play for survival. Compared to in England which is a 12 team league and where one team is relegated.
Yeah it's a very different kind of setup

Finally got a new WotH design ref to share! This time we have Blaze, princess of the Sol Tribe! Thanks so much to my co-writer for helping me come up with this beautiful design!
Also here's some more lore for her, so far:
Princess of the Sol Tribe, Blaze hails from a land shrouded in mystery that lies beyond the Requiem Mountains of Rhapsody. There was once a way through the mountains courtesy of the mines of the village of Elegy, but after a cave in due to a yeti moving in the town was abandoned. Blaze was young when this happened, but she was able to pick up the language thanks to a pair of siblings her tribe had taken in long ago that hailed from outside the Valley of the Sun - the area her people called home - and is fluent in both tongues.
A recent tragedy struck her home however when an umbra dragon belonging to the witch Ursula Belle attacked her home, and she's since been traveling with Sonic, Amy, and co. in order to help them stop this witch, and find her place in the world while she's lost. She's currently training under Amy to earn a full Huntress license while she figures things out. She dreams of one day bringing whatever is left of her scattered tribe back together again.

Flip Real Estate Virtually with Paul Lizell & Jay Conner
Jay Conner
00:02:57
My guest is a good friend. We’re in a mastermind together. Well, he is the founder of The Virtual Investor. That’s right. He is a virtual investor and virtual wholesaler. He’s been flipping properties all the way back since 2001. And he actually is the original virtual wholesaler. And he’s purchased all over the US since 2009 virtually. In addition to that, my guest has bought and sold properties in 44 out of 50 states and continues to look at expanding into new markets. Now, in addition to that, he contributes his success to utilizing systems and processes that simplify the online buying process. He’s focused exclusively on online auctions bank REOs, buying off of the MLS, and wholesalers across the country since 2013. I’m so excited to have my friend and fellow mastermind member, Paul Lizell. Paul, welcome to the podcast.
Paul Lizell
00:04:32
Thanks for having me, man. I really appreciate it.
Jay Conner
00:04:34
Absolutely. I’m excited to have you on here, Paul. And of course, we’re going to be seeing each other again here pretty soon at one of our upcoming mastermind meetings. And today we want to hear all about what it’s like to be a virtual wholesaler. What in the world does that mean? And what’s that process look like? But before you get started on all that, tell us, how’d you get into real estate?
Paul Lizell
00:04:58
Interesting story. So let’s go back to the 1990s when I was in college. I was working for my uncle who’s a general contractor and he bought a quadplex, a 4-unit building. We fixed it up, renovated it. He turned around and rented it out. He was making pretty good profits on this property, too, and still had a lot of equity in it. So that kind of stoked my interest in real estate. And that point on, after he bought a few more and we renovated them and I was going through college, I decided this is something I got to get into. It’s gotta be my long-term goal. So I did and basically in 2001, I started my first property. Unlike his, it was a fix and flip. I got into that so I could build up some cash. Eventually, I did build up, got some rentals as well, but stuck with the wholesaling, the fix and flip game owner-finance game, and I’d been doing that ever since.
Jay Conner
00:05:46
That’s awesome. So, were you doing fix and flips a while before you started doing wholesaling? Or were you doing wholesaling and fixing flips simultaneously, like right out the gate?
Paul Lizell
00:05:59
Well, I really started in the fix and flip game and then when I had too many flip deals going on, I did a couple of wholesale deals. And I started to realize it was kind of easy doing these wholesale deals. So after the crash of 2008, 2009, when all the marketing was just tanking, and you probably remember that well, I’m sure, I decided, all right, let’s go more to the wholesale game and turn them and burn them, and we did that. And we still did fix and flips, don’t get me wrong. We kept those good deals, did fix and flips on them, kept some good deals, rentals, some owner-financing, but we basically became virtual wholesalers at that point. We started expanding. We started in Pennsylvania where I was originally from. I just moved here to Florida this past month, but originally I’m from about 45 minutes north of Philadelphia. And so I started in that market, expanded out, went to Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, the Carolinas, which I love and where you’re from. And then I started going down to Florida, Texas, before you know it, I bought and sold in 44 to 50 states.
Jay Conner
00:06:57
First of all, let’s make sure everybody understands what we’re talking about when we say wholesale a deal. There’s more than one way to wholesale a deal. So, what’s your definition of wholesaling? And what’s that look like?
Paul Lizell
00:07:11
So for most people, they think wholesaling is getting a property under contract from a seller and assigning that contract and collecting assignment fee. So for us buying bank-owned properties, and we do a few of those, don’t get me wrong. We do a few of those deals, we get some of those referrals. But, primarily, what we do with auction properties or bank-owned or HUD properties, we have to buy them, take them down and then resell them. So, it’s a wholesale, it’s just we actually have to take down the property. So we do need the funds to be able to purchase it, whether we use transactional funding, private lending, as you’re great at, at raising money, we do as well. We love the raising money game and using private lending for that. But yeah, it’s kind of the same deal as it is with assignment of contract, it’s just we actually take it down so we show ownership at one point.
Jay Conner
00:07:59
So, what’s the advantage of actually buying the house instead of getting it under contract and then collecting an assignment fee?
Paul Lizell
00:08:09
You know in certain states there’s been a crackdown, I think Tennessee and Illinois have had a crackdown on wholesalers where they’re making them become licensed realtors. So I think this kind of negates that because you’re actually purchasing the property, right? You’re showing you have the vested interest, not just the vested interest or equitable interest, you actually purchased it and took it down. So you have the right to do what you want to afterwards, and nothing can come back. So from a legal standpoint, we’re probably the safest and best. I am licensed in Pennsylvania. I probably will get licensed in Florida. And occasionally we’ll do some of those assignment deals, but for the most part, we just take them down, resell them. And in this market, as you know, wholetailing has been unbelievable, just getting the property in decent enough shape to be mortgageable reselling it, not sitting on it for 6, 7 months while the rehab is getting done, while the showings are going on. It’s much quicker, you’re in and out 30 days at the most, and you’re hopefully selling it in 30 to 45 days in this market right now.
So, it’s been much quicker and better.
Jay Conner
00:09:08
Right. So the reason you actually buy the house and take ownership of it is, that way, regardless of where you’re doing business, you don’t have to worry about there being issues with just collecting an assignment fee. Am I hearing you right on that?
Paul Lizell
00:09:27
Yeah, absolutely. I mean, we would prefer to do it without having to have all the cash and buy it, but the banks don’t allow you. So if you buy a property from the bank, you can’t just assign it to another buyer, you must take it down in your name and you can do things with it. We’ve done things in trust. You know trusts are great. But the problem with that is, unless it’s an investor that’s a buyer investor, that trusts in you and understands what you’re doing, that they know what you’re doing, they usually don’t want to buy your trust, or if you put it in an LLC and sell them that LLC, they don’t usually want to buy it. And I totally understand that, they’re going to want to put it in their own name. We’ve run into that in the past with Fannie Mae. Fannie Mae had that anti-flipping where you couldn’t sell it for more than 20% of what you paid for. I think it was 90 days after the deed was recorded, not when you purchased, but when the deed was recorded. So with those properties, it either had to do something off the HUD, or we just had to wait those 90 days and then just sell it to them at that point, which has other risks. But, overall, if you’re making profits, I’m alright with that.
Jay Conner
00:10:26
There you go. So when you’re buying the houses in today’s market, are you primarily selling them to other real estate investors at a profit? Or are you selling them to people that are actually going to move in and own the home themselves and live in it?
Paul Lizell
00:10:44
In this market, we’ve done more to end-buyers. More people are going to live there than in the past. Typically, we sell to other investors for the most part, but in this market, the way it’s been and the kind of properties that we targeted, we’ve kind of pivoted and go on into less of the trainwreck properties, the ones that need everything and more to the ones that just need a little bit enhancing to get it back to become mortgageable and then resell them. So we’ve kind of pivoted a little bit just in this market to try to take advantage of what’s there. Go after the low-lying fruit rather than everything else.
Jay Conner
00:11:14
I got it. I know it’s going to depend on the market. I mean, you’re in all kinds of markets all over the nation, but what kind of profits are you seeing in today’s market doing the business the way you do it?
Paul Lizell
00:11:26
So our wholesale profits are generally around $12,000 per deal, and that’s your standard wholesale. If we’re wholetailing it, we’re around $32,000 and the full-scale fix and flip we’re into anywhere from probably close to your number, the $67,000, but we’ve had plenty of that have been $80,000, $100,000, even $120,000, especially in this market over the past year. So it’s been nice, but those are your full-scale rehabs. And those were the home runs, obviously, they’re not your average.
Jay Conner
00:11:55
Right. And we’ve already said it, but I want to make sure our audience understands it. Tell everybody what wholetailing is versus wholesaling.
Paul Lizell
00:12:05
Yeah, great point. So wholetailing is more or less where you’re getting a property and it just needs some paint, some carpet, it doesn’t need a full kitchen gut. Maybe you just repaint the cabinets. Maybe you put new cabinet poles on them, or maybe put countertops on them. With bathrooms, you’re okay with them but maybe you just put a new toilet in, or a new vanity or even easier sometimes, just a new faucet on a sink. And then you’re reworking your painting and carpeting. Usually, you don’t have to do roof siding, windows, things like that. So wholetailing has really just been super profitable. It’s more so than the fix and flip, believe it or not, for us. When you look at it from a time standpoint, we’re selling those so quickly, as quickly as our full-scale fix and flip, but we’re putting less effort in, and our holding costs are so much lower. It’s been worthwhile for us and less management of contractors because it can be one of the most difficult, taxing things in this business.
Jay Conner
00:13:00
Do you think that wholetailing, or in other words, “not doing a full rehab,” but you just make it okay and nicer? Do you think wholetailing is so much more popular now and working so well because there’s just no inventory?
Paul Lizell
00:13:16
That’s it. You hit the nail on the head with that, Jay. We go back to 2009 when I was doing fix and flips. If I didn’t do a full-scale, redo everything, you didn’t have that many buyers interested in the property unless it was the first-time home buyer. But as the market has gotten hotter and hotter and has lesser and lesser inventory, people are being less picky figuring they’ll do some of the work themselves. So it’s really just kind of taking what the market gives you. We follow it in our business. We follow the “Keep it simple, stupid” theory, and I think that’s the best thing to do in any business. Whatever the market is giving you, take that, right? If you don’t need to do the full-scale rehab, don’t, unless it’s going to warrant you getting an additional $50,000 or $60,000 where it becomes worthwhile, just take what the market gives you.
Jay Conner
00:13:56
Yeah. So how do you determine how to price? Like if you’re wholetailing a house to an end-buyer, what’s your criteria for pricing that home at the stage you got it in versus a complete rehab?
Paul Lizell
00:14:15
So basically what we do now with the wholetailing, we’re discounting it at 10-15% off what the normal end, full-scale rehab would be, which is still giving some equity to the buyer, should they want to do something there. And still it makes them fly off the shelves, I tell you, they don’t last very long when you’re just doing the basics and people see it’s clean and easy. I can change the carpet. I can change the paint color or whatever, I can do this or that. So people aren’t as picky as they used to be because there’s just no inventory. It’s hard to be picky. You take what’s there, basically, more or less.
Jay Conner
00:14:50
So in this market, as long as it’s clean and it smells good, if it’s dated, that’s okay, right?
Paul Lizell
00:15:03
Yes, dated, okay. You go do the ’80s, ’90s style. People can live with that as long as things aren’t broken, right? As long as you don’t have holes in the roof and things like that. Roofing is definitely a big issue, HVAC system for people. We just did one in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and unfortunately it did need a new HVAC system, so we did install that. We’re still gonna do pretty well. His property is still gonna net around $32,000, even though we had to do the roof and the HVAC system and the rest of it was a wholetail.
Jay Conner
00:15:32
Gotcha. So when you’re wholetailing to an end-user, are you finding the buyer by listing it with a real estate agent in the MLS?
Paul Lizell
00:15:42
We are. So, 90% of the time we do that. And occasionally like we did in one in Charleston, Tennessee, which is a very rural area, I had my disposition manager reach out to a bunch of agents in that area to just let them know we have a property and we offered them 2% commission. And the only thing we had to do was put it in a hot water heater in that one. That was literally it.
Jay Conner
00:16:05
That’s amazing. So first of all, to be virtually wholesaling, you have to find these deals and there ain’t no inventory to speak of. So everybody wants to know, well, if there isn’t any inventory, how in the world are you finding the deals?
Paul Lizell
00:16:27
Well, we got a little bit of an advantage over a lot of other people in the market. Most real estate investors out there stick with certain territories, maybe one or two markets out there. Occasionally somebody does three or four, but for us, the whole country is our oyster, really. That’s what we look at. We got inventory anywhere. We have preferred states where we’d like to do business, don’t get me wrong, but if there’s a great deal in another state where we don’t typically do business, we will go there. Just to give you an example, we’ve done 5 deals in New Mexico this year. We hadn’t done a deal in New Mexico in I think the previous 6 years before that, so we just kind of take what the market gives you. If there’s a deal there, we’ll take it. And we also hit those tertiary markets, and the second-tier markets that if you’re looking at a town or a city like Charlotte, go an hour outside, like a town like Kannapolis, Gastonia, and then go another hour outside that loop there. And then you’re in like a third-tier market. We target those markets because people do want to live there, especially now with what’s going on with the pandemic and everything. People are looking to be more and more rural. So it kind of fits right into what we’ve done all these years, which is a big advantage for us.
Jay Conner
00:17:33
Right! So how do you get the leads?
Paul Lizell
00:17:35
So for us, it’s our own time. So we pay no marketing fees, right? We don’t have any marketing costs whatsoever. I had turned off the direct mail marketing in 2013 and I just buy exclusively off of these auctions. For me, it’s really looking at what’s on the auction sites right now. We use VAs. We have several VAs that do this for each different auction site, whether it’s Auction.com, Xome, the Hudson & Marshall, Hubzu, Realty Bid, Auction Network, HUD Home Store, Fannie and Freddie. We have them go through and they do what I call “First-level fig.” They look at it and we give them the criteria of what we look out for – square footage, repair amount – and then they’ll send me a spreadsheet on Excel. Yes, yes, no, no, no. So, let’s say there’s 250 properties on this particular auction that’s coming up.
We might weed that down to about 20 to 25 that we’ll actually bid on. And then as the bidding process goes, if we’re getting out there and we just let those go off and again, we pick the low-lying fruit there. We’re not going to get into a bidding war. Today, for example, there’s a property in Florida that was in Sarasota, which is a red-hot market. It’s a nice market. My maximum allowable offer is 141 because there’s a buyer’s premium on this property. So the most I would spend was 150 because the ARV was 350 tops. This thing ends up getting bid up to 203 with a buyer’s premium. It was over 210 that that person is purchasing a property for, plus it needed everything. This thing needed at least 125 and work. So basically whoever bought this is probably an end-buyer, but they’re going to be upside down when all is said and done. So we fall off that, we have our maximum viable offers that will go up to, and you can’t get emotional with it, right? That’s a nice market. I would have liked to have been in there, but it didn’t fit our criteria. So I let it go.
Jay Conner
00:19:27
Paul, in case we’ve got some listeners that need to leave the show a little early, go ahead and let folks know how they can get in contact with you and continue the conversation.
Paul Lizell
00:19:38
Sure, absolutely. So we have a couple of different websites. www.REOAuctionAcademy.com is one of them. And also FlipRealEstateVirtually.com is another one. Both URLs work. You can contact us, and if you want to learn more about our coaching program, which we teach people how to do exactly what we do. As a matter of fact, we teach a lot of other investors who do direct mail, postcards, and PPC. They want to learn this aspect of the business. They actually hire somebody or have somebody who doesn’t have as much going on and let them handle this whole new arm of the business for them.
Jay Conner
00:20:13
Again, those 2 websites are REOAuctionAcademy.com, and the other one is FlipRealEstateVirtually.com. All right, so you got the leads coming in. You got your VAs researching all the houses that are coming up on all these different auction sites. How in the world do you have boots on the ground, eyes on the ground, in all these different markets, taking a look at these houses to even know what a close estimation of repairs would be that you need to do? Because, obviously, you don’t want to bid on a property until you know what kind of repairs you’re looking at.
Paul Lizell
00:21:02
Absolutely. And this is one of the most important things. So how you develop these kinds of relationships and these relationships end up blossoming and give you more deals throughout the years. I’ll give you an example of it. So in Tucson, Arizona, there was an REO agent who I bought a bunch of properties through over the years from 2010, all the way through now, we still currently do. Basically, he saw I was a serious player in Tucson, Arizona. We wholesaled a bunch of them. And then he was starting to bring me deals and bring me leads and bring me properties. So he was my boots on the ground. And how that started was I just reached out to him initially after I was bidding on some properties, and this is what you need to do if you’re entering any new market, you need to contact the realtor or the REO agent for that property.
If it’s a bank-owned property, get some details. You’re trying to get the BPO, which is the “Broker’s Price Opinion” of the property. And if you can get that, that’ll tell you basically what they think the “as is value” is, the 30-day sale price, the 90-day sale price, the 120-day sale price. And they’ll show comps on there, and that’s like, that’s gold. That’s gold when you get that. So you utilize them for that. You also try to get additional pictures from them. And then you’re trying to get what kind of repairs are needed because they generally know, again, the utilities usually aren’t on, but they know what repairs were needed. They know if the roof’s leaking, they know if the air conditioner or heater looks really bad and it looks like it needs replacing, the hot water heater. They’ll tell you if the kitchen needs to be replaced. And the best referrals I get for contractors, hands down, is from these agents.
And the big reason is these contractors who work for these agents get referrals and they get a lot of referrals. So they do not want to screw over these agents when they’re giving them, basically, free marketing. So the guys that we’ve used from all the agent referrals have all been good, and I’m going to knock on wood when I say that, the ones that I run into that have been bad are ones that I picked on my own. I’ve also gotten great ones, but the best referrals from people who are there, who have boots on our ground and have local people, you know how to do those repairs. So we relied big time on the agents on these properties. If there is no agent, we use a company called BPO Photo Flow that’ll go out there and take some pictures of the property.
And if we have a lockbox, they can usually get inside, take more pictures. And we kind of tell them what to look for, like take pictures of the exterior, make sure there’s no cracks in the foundation, take a picture of the basement, the systems, make sure the HVACs are right, hot water heater, kitchens and bathrooms are important. You know, anything that they noticed cracks or issues with flooring, whatever, anything off-level. We want to know that kind of thing. If there’s moisture in the basement, just so we know what we’re in for an aid, generally do a pretty good job and they’re fairly inexpensive to utilize.
Jay Conner
00:23:49
And what’s the name of that service? One more time.
Paul Lizell
00:23:54
It’s BPO Photo Flow, like “Broker’s Price Opinion.” BPOPhotoFlow.com. And they do a really good job. They’re not in every market, so sometimes we actually have to reach out to other local agents and send them out there. And then we just pay them basically more or less to go out there and take some pictures for us and then tell them if we buy it, we’re going to list it through you. We do offer that. And if we do buy, we do end up listing it with them or having them help us sell the property if they know some investors.
Jay Conner
00:24:20
So these REO real estate agents, also known as bank-owned real estate agents, have the listing for these properties that are going up for auction. So obviously if you buy it, you don’t have to pay them anything for the purchase because the bank, the REO, is paying their commission. But do you compensate these agents in any additional way other than when you make a purchase, the bank pays them?
Paul Lizell
00:24:46
We do at times, like if we know they’re going to be doing above and beyond, and they’re not going to get the listing, we will definitely pay them. We’ll say, “What do you want for this? Or what free one for that service?” They usually are very, very fair with the prices and we’re glad to do it. We just Venmo them most of the time. I’ve never really run into any issues with that. Most of the time, they’re really happy to just hand the listing for you. I even have thought of them managing my rehabs for me because they know the contractors, they kind of manage, oversee, and take pictures. They’re happy to go do that. They see the progress and they want it listed so that they can get their permission when all is said and done.
Jay Conner
00:25:21
Awesome. And how do you find these REO agents? I suppose one way you could find them is, well, your VAs are looking at auctions coming up. They go research the property and right there, they see who’s got the real estate listing on it. Right?
Paul Lizell
00:25:37
Absolutely. And you get a lot of these agents who will have 5, 10, 15, 20 different properties. And they’ll cover a huge geographical region, which is crazy. I mean, they’re running around all the time. Nobody works harder than an REO agent, that I can tell you. Those guys and gals, they work their butts off and they are good. Their numbers are so spot on. For example, on a property we had in Ohio a few years back, I was talking to the agent, “What do you think the value of this property is, as is?” And she’s like, it had to be somewhere between 17 and 20. Sure enough, we picked it up for like $7,500. We sold that for $17,500. She was just right on the money with it. And that happens time and time and time again, the only time, if you’re in with a newer agent, that’s where you want to be careful.
If it is a newer real estate agent, they’re not going to be as experienced. You’re going to want to try to lean on a secondary agent. Hopefully somebody that’s in one of these towns that has their own brokerage that’s been there for 10, 20 years and really knows the market. Well, those have been our best sources. Far and away, the people that are in small mom & pop shops, they just know the market. They know everybody in town. They usually know who lived in that property, especially if it’s a smaller town, like you live in, Jay, they know people, right? And they’ve been our greatest source all over every market that we’ve ever been in.
Jay Conner
00:26:55
Let’s say that you make a bid and you win the bid at the auction and all these auctions are online, right?
Paul Lizell
00:27:04
Yes. They’re all online.
Jay Conner
00:27:05
So you win the bid. So now you’re the winning bidder. On average, how long do you have before you get close? In addition to that, do you sometimes, or always get a home inspection before you take it down?
Paul Lizell
00:27:22
So, Jay, I’ll answer the first question first. 30 to 45 days usually is what you got, time-wise. Sometimes a little bit longer. If the title is a little cloudy or there’s past issues or where something wasn’t done right at the Sheriff’s sale. That’s the answer to the first question. The second one, we never get a home inspection. We’ll just send a contractor out there. I don’t have too much faith in the home inspection field, business, people. Most of these guys learn out of a book and never swung a hammer a day in their life. So the people I rely on are the contractors. I try to find general contractors that really know everything, as many aspects of it. And yeah, if they miss some stuff, sure, they’re gonna miss some stuff here and there, but they’re going to see the big stuff. And they’ve been a great source for me and are far less expensive because you’re just gonna pay $400 or $500 for these home inspections when I can send a guy out there for a hundred bucks to give me a pretty good inspection, you know.
Jay Conner
00:28:14
And again, as you said, you find these general contractors by referral from the bank-owned real estate agents, right?
Paul Lizell
00:28:21
Yup. And about 95% of the time, they don’t charge you a penny to go out there. They’re hoping to get the work.
Jay Conner
00:28:26
That’s fantastic. Well, this is a fantastic business model you’ve got, Paul. Any parting comments?
Paul Lizell
00:28:35
I love it. It’s a great business model. The one thing I really like about it is that I can turn a business on or off anytime I want, unlike the direct mail marketing or the PPC where you gotta be on those calls right away. On a PPC lead or direct mail, it’s constantly going. If I want to go on vacation, I shut down for 2 weeks or a month. If I want to go overseas, I can do that and just stop operations and start right back up when I get back. So I do love that. That is my favorite aspect of the business. I also don’t have to deal with home sellers 99% of the time. So those are 2 facets. I really like how it’s really simple. It’s not turnkey, but your time is your marketing costs, right? Your time and energy, which is your most valuable asset. Your time is all your costs involved.

Phargion

Image by Trevor Harsine, © Wizards of the Coast. Accessed at the D&D Miniatures Handbook Art Gallery here
[Commissioned by @crazytrain48. Hey, remember the droidekas? Those rolling, force-field having droids were one of the design highlights of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and were already four years old when the D&D Miniatures Handbook was released. Why these, of all creatures from pop culture, got a D&D expy in that book is unclear. Maybe it was an in-joke: Hasbro was making a licensed Star Wars Miniatures game at the same time as the D&D Miniatures game.]
Phargion CR 6 N Aberration This creature appears to be something like a bipedal insect, with a face like a human skull. Its arms are oversized and are covered in bladed shields, and its legs are stumpy. It curls itself into a ball and rolls with surprising speed.
A phargion is a strange pack hunting predator with a unique mode of locomotion. They curl up into a ball and roll rapidly, able to cover great distances on level ground. Thus, they prefer to live in open, grassland habitats. In their packs, they cooperate with one another to make multiple hit and run attacks against a target, and packs are known to down prey as large as an elephant. A phargion isolated from its pack will often attempt to team up with other predators, and a phargion hunting alongside a gray render or behir is not unheard of.
Phargions speak Draconic, but only haltingly. Their vocabulary maxes out around 100 words. Their society is loosely hierarchical, resembling more a wolf pack than anything resembling a humanoid community.

Roll Up (Ex) A phargion can roll into a ball as a swift action, and unroll as a move action. When rolled up, its speed increases to 50 feet and it gains a +4 natural armor bonus to its Armor Class. It cannot make armblade attacks while rolled up, but it can make combat maneuvers. Wheeled Maneuver (Ex) When rolled up, a phargion gains a +2 racial bonus on all CMB checks made to bull rush and overrun. It does not provoke attacks of opportunity when attempting these combat maneuvers.

Amy Rose the Hedgehog/Echidna
Alright you motherfuckers, Amy Rose is a Hedgehog/Echidna Hybrid and i’m going to prove it to you.
1. The history of Amy Rose
1a. Classic Amy
Amy Rose made her video game debut in 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog CD, as a non-playable character. In this game she is an 8 year old hedgehog girl kidnapped by the new antagonist, Metal Sonic. In the Japanese release, she was primarily known by her nickname Rosy the Rascal, although it is still stated that her real name is Amy Rose. She later appeared as a playable character in several ensemble spin-off games such as Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2, Sonic the Fighters and Sonic R. She did not appear in any of the early TV series, although she was included in most comics, including the Archie Comics series, the British Sonic the Comic and the French Sonic Adventures. (Via Sonic Wiki)
TLDR; Amy first showed up in comics, although she was created for the video games. As shown above her first video game appearance was Sonic CD.
Amy Rose was created in response to a request from the character division of Sega's licensing business, who wanted a character that could be the "Minnie" to Sonic's "Mickey" However, it was felt that it would go against Sonic's personality for him to locked into a standard cartoon relationship like Mickey and Minnie. Instead, it was decided that a one-way relationship, where Amy's affection for Sonic is unrequited, would be more interesting ((via Sonic Wiki))
TLDR; Amy was created in response to a request to give Sonic a love interest, but feeling that would “Go against his character”, they made it a one-sided relationship.
-
Why am I letting you know this? Well to be acquainted and understand the significance of MODERN Amy, you need to know CLASSIC Amy.
Classic Amy had a very different design, although she was still pink, she wore different clothes, has different quills (very important) and is 8. She only showed up in Sonic CD and the comics, pretty much being reduced to a minor character. Even to this day, Classic Amy has no appearance in Sonic Mania (2017), despite having Mighty and Ray, only making an appearance in a holiday episode of Sonic Mania Adventures (2018)
-
1b. Modern Amy
When Sonic Team reunited and started work on their three-dimensional follow-up to the classic Sonic games, Sonic Adventure, it was decided they would revive the pink hedgehog and give her a starring role in the game. Like the rest of the returning cast, Amy was given an updated design by Yuji Uekawa. While Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all received minor design changes, Amy's clothing and hairstyle were completely revamped. She also had her entire figure redesigned to make her appear older. In addition to her redesign, her official age was changed from 8 to 12. (via: Sonic Wiki)
TLDR; Amy was brought in as a main character in Sonic Adventure, getting a complete revamp in character design, unlike the other characters who only had minor changes.
Remember this. It will come back later.
Now we’re to the Amy we know and love! Short cute hair, colors that actually match and don’t look horrific (why is classic wearing green and orange. Whos idea was that) And older, but maybe not too much more mature, Amy Rose.
Another note, her design might have been revamped, but her personality wasn’t.
-
2. Why that Matters
I know what you’re thinking, “why is that incredibly handsome he”-no sorry, “why are we going though the history of Amy? Why does it matter just tell us why you think she’s part echidna?”
I’m getting there, don’t worry.
I wanted everyone to be extremely clear on her history, on the changes between CLASSIC and MODERN, which is very important to this theory. Not everyone us super aware of her history.
-
3. Her (modern) Design
-it was decided they would revive the pink hedgehog and give her a starring role in the game. Like the rest of the returning cast, Amy was given an updated design by Yuji Uekawa. While Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all received minor design changes, Amy's clothing and hairstyle were completely revamped. (Via Sonic Wiki)
Now, Finally, let’s get to her design, and the weirdness of it.
3a. Her quills
Amy is a pink-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with green eyes and peach skin on her muzzle and arms. Unlike other hedgehogs, her spines are not spiky in appearance - but are rather worn down like that of ordinary hair, somewhat resembling a bob cut. (Via: Sonic Wiki)
I’m going to assume you knew I was getting to this
“Unlike other hedgehogs”, is a totally fair statement. Every other hedgehog we’ve seen (Even non-canon ones with terrible designs ((looking at you sonia))) Have had their quills in a very specific manner.
Out, Long, and Back.
Very much in contrast with Amy’s, Down and Short.
Also note that Shadow and Sonic, on their heads, have six quills, silver having two long ones and 5 bang quills. Basically, their quills are layered, Amy’s however, is not. It’s one right next to each other.
I note the layered quills as very important. Makes sense for mobian hedgehogs right? I mean they have layered quills like that in real life, even if there’s a lot more.
This is very important why? Because there’s another species that has their quills/spines/hair/etc. right next to each other, instead of layered.
Interesting how close it is to Amy’s own hairstyle isn’t it?
it’s even drawn similarly.
In conclusion, her quills are VERY strange for hedgehogs, but very average for echidna’s, weird for a hedgehog huh.
-
3b. Her Back
“What?” You say, confused.
But listen.
There’s one specific thing that other hedgehogs have, that Amy Rose is lacking.
Back Quills
None on her back. Absolutely zero.
Again, strange and weird for a hedgehog, not at all strange or weird for an echidna.
-
3c. Other stuff
-The top of her red dress looking like a crescent moon, alot like Knuckles’s own on his body. I just noticed this looking at the two ref sheets above. -Might be crazy, but I feel like with the 3D models Amy’s tail is longer than the other hedgehog’s. Might just be me though -Most (normal) hedgehogs we’ve seen like Sonic and Silver have very cool colors like Blue and White, and Echidnas are very centered around reds and oranges. And I mean, Pink is a light shade of red.
-
4. Hybrids
This will be a quick one, hybrid’s HAVE existed in the sonic universe
Although an obscure character now, Fang the Sniper has always been a hybrid.
Touma would state on Twitter that he designed Fang with a jerboa (トビネズミ?) motif in his mind.[6] However, the sales departments of Sega decided upon him being half jerboa and half wolf in Japan, and a weasel in North America.[7][8] (Via: Sonic Wiki)
And, you could be wondering why i’m saying she’s a hybrid and not just an Echidna instead of a Hedgehog. Well, She has the hedgehog ears and eye-shape.
5. The whole picture
I’ve shown you the pieces, now to put it together.
Each of these things with her new design sepretly would mean nothing, but together it means a lot.
But you HAVE to be thinking, “There’s no way that was purposeful.” and I get it. When I first thought of this theory, that was the roadblock that kept me from fully believing it, until I did some research.
I don’t belive it was the idea from the beginning. And by that, I mean CLASSIC Amy.
She looks like a hedgehog, she has back spines, she has normal, layered, quills. As well as Amy debuting before Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (1994)
MODERN Amy, however. Is a different story.
Remember when I told you to remember a certain paragraph?
Amy’s design was changed drastically for Sonic Adventure, even saying so in this paragraph. Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles got minor things, like eye colors and more dexterity. Eggman got an outfit change. Amy’s whole body was changed. Quills, Back, Outfit, Everything.
Once again, you’re wondering, “Why does this matter?”
Amy was completely redesigned for Sonic Adventure. A game that include, features, hell, CENTERS around Echidnas.
Every flashback is about the Knuckles clan, and how Chaos ended up like that™️ because of them.
In a game where you have a bunch of Echidnas, I, personally, feel like i’d be difficult to make the mistake of 50% of Amy Rose looking like one.
Anyway Amy Rose is an Echidna/Hedgehog hybrid and either doesn’t know or is too dumb to tell anyone thanks by
