while accusations of tumblr&ao3 fandom being misogynist are, like. correct. because society at large is misogynist and fandom is no exception. i do wish people would keep in mind that tumblr and ao3 are The Androphile Websites. a huge driver of the numbers discrepancy between female and male characters, and slash and femslash, is that the people hanging out in these spaces want to Fuck Men. most people even in the tumblrao3 fannish space are, in fact, straight cis women. community forms where the people are, which means when the cishet fujoshis (non-derogatory) coalesce around slash because they want to Fuck Men and holy shit, two cakes, the bisexuals are also going to go there so there are people to talk to, even though they theoretically also want to Fuck Women.

the thing about han sooyoung is she actually likes kim dokja so much its embarrassing. hes like her favourite guy. she stays up late writing just so he can have something to read in the morning. she gives him her candy when he's feeling upset because she hates seeing him sad. he walks into a room and she has to catch herself to make sure she doesnt start smiling too obviously. and all of this is of course perfectly normal behaviour between two people who are close but han sooyoung is soooo embarrassed of it. shes like yeah he's my favourite guy on earth. he's ugly and lame and has shit taste in novels and we havent even spent that much time together but i miss him when he's not in the room. tch.
