Hii hello, I’ve been loving your writing lately so I had a little req in mind :3

With a gen!neutral reader that’s an exchange student or just a new student from a European country, still settling into the school ^_^ Mixing in things like getting used to new environments, maybe having an accent or struggling with English could be a sweet little thing to add to make it more interesting.

Charlie Dalton x gn!reader

Summary: Charlie finds himself totally enamored by the new foreign student. The foreign student finds themself enamored by him.

Warnings: Inaccurate foreigner experience. (I don't know the American experience or the European experience) I do not know what it is like so I'm sorry if this offends.

Charlie was running late. Something that occurred often considering his lack of passion for learning. His lack of passion for Welton.

The rarity of this though, was that Charlie was running late to English. He usually made an effort to attend Mr. Keating's class, as it was the only subject he enjoyed and found of value.

During his speed-walk down the hall, he caught the murmurs of a feminine voice from the gap of an open door. It was a smaller room. Wasn't meant for a full class. The voice wasn't in English. This caught his interest. He slowed and stood behind the open door, so he'd remain hidden but still be able to see the people in the room.

The feminine voice belonged to a teacher. One of the newer staff at Welton. They were sat on the top of a desk, talking down towards another student. That student was sat hunching in on themselves, clearly unhappy, uncomfortable. Arms folded, picking at the pills of their uniformed, knitted jumper. The teacher, Ms. Danfords, started speaking after taking a deep, patient breath.

"If you want to be a part of your classes, you have to know the basics of writing and speaking in English. You're not practicing."

The hunched body at the desk spoke back in a foreign language sounding of harsh, round vowels and a bitter tone. Ms. Danfords spoke back in a commanding tone in the same language. The student quickly grabbed their books and made their way towards the doorway where Charlie stood.

They brushed past him. High shoulders, teary eyed, small, frustrated pants from their mouth. He heard a quiet "Pardon," as they passed him.

It fascinated Charlie. The round shape of the 'o' and the long sound of the 'ar' as they spoke to them. The length and cut of their hair. A different cut and shape but so flattering. Something he hadn't seen in popular American magazines.

He trailed after them for a few steps, absolutely fascinated until he realized how strange he would have seemed following a near-weeping stranger.

Charlie's thoughts had been consumed by the single word. "Pardon" was repeated throughout his mind. He was sat in silence, biting his nails for most classes during the day. The poets knew something had happened. Whether it was good or bad, they couldn't tell.

The last period of the day had finally arrived. Charlie, along with Neil and Knox sat down for mathematics. Another hated concept of Charlie's.

Charlie was slumped in his chair, thumb nail in his mouth and knee bouncing, when they walked in. The upset, new student from when Charlie was on his way to English. He watched as they took the seat right in front of him. He sat up, suddenly pin straight.

Neil took notice and leaned over to tap Knox on the shoulder and draw his attention to Charlie. They both snickered. and nodded in the direction of Charlie's neighbor. They realized what was wrong. Charlie was romantically interested. Charlie pulled a stern look, silently telling the boys to stop it.

Charlie leaned forward in his chair, chest against his desk in front of him, ready to speak his first words to the new student. That was until Dr. Hager walked in.

The new student flinched at Hager and then flinched again at the proximity of Charlie behind them. Charlie quickly gave a "Sorry" and sat back in his chair. Rigid, cringing from the interaction.

Little did he know, the student had suddenly realized who it was behind them. The boy who was meant to be funny, but they didn't understand his jokes. The boy who spoke to fast for them to understand, yet he was the most interesting. The handsome boy that was so concerned at seeing them crying. They were invested in knowing this boy.

The wide vowel he spoke when apologizing to them. 'Sorry'. It sounded so different. So nasally. So modern. Whatever Dr. Hager was talking about didn't make sense, and this time it wasn't because of the language barrier.

Soon, they found themselves slowly turning in their chair. Just a little. They wanted to see the boy again. Charlie's cocked brow and half smile.

The boy looked up as he heard their chair squeak. His pencil in his hand frozen above his exercise book. The pair both froze in silence. Looking at each other. The girl was biting their lips. Fearful of what he thought of them.

Weak, sad, foreign, strange.

Charlie was thinking of something charming to say to them.

I like your hair. Never seen anything like it before.

Instead, Charlie suddenly remembered their previous panic. Their sad eyes and hunched shoulders. He was suddenly asking if they were okay.

"I'm fine." They spoke defeatedly. Maybe Charlie did see them as sad. "I'm sorry you saw that, Charlie."

"I'm sorry you find this so difficult." Charlie spoke in a whisper. Sincerity was heard in his voice. It made them feel better and give a small smile to the boy.

Their lips caught Charlie's attention when curved into a smile. He smiled back, toothier this time, still focused on the curve of their mouth. Charlie suddenly had a thought. A very good one.

"How come I haven't seen you at study hall?" Charlie questioned quietly. Dr. Hager was blabbering on still. It was pure luck Charlie hadn't been shut down by the girl or Hager.

The girl looked away slightly. "I don't know..." They hesitated. The classroom was already a foreign land most of the time. They didn't want to put the students who used study hall as a break in an uncomfortable situation. "It would be hard for me."

"C'mon," Charlie had leaned forward in his chair, it squeaked noisily.

This interrupted Hager.

"Dalton," Dr Hager's stern voice echoed in the silent classroom. Most students looked up. Those who didn't stopped working to listen. "Mingling or equating, Mr. Dalton?"

"Uhm..." For the first time, Charlie sweated under the question of a teacher, longing for a comeback. "Both?" He was questioning himself at this point.

"Dr. Hager," A third voice shocked Charlie. It was them. The European he was slowly befriending. "I didn't understand something. He was helping me."

"Well," Hager hesitated. For the first time, someone had made him fumble over his persecution of punishments against Welton students. "Perhaps ask me for confirmation next."

Heads bowed again, back to their books as Dr. Hager turned back to the chalk board. Charlie stayed looking at the back of the student's head. He was amazed, shocked at how they'd shut Hager up. Suddenly, the girl turned to look at him again.

"If I go to study hall..." They hesitated. Was this a stupid idea? They thought. Before they continued, Charlie butted in.

"I'd sit by you." He spoke quickly, he tried to rectify his offer, thinking of it as too forward. "But if you want me to do that, I mean."

The European smiled softly at them and nodded. "I think I would like that, Charlie."

The Great Ties

In round 1, as we all know, Darby and Jack tied exactly at 85 votes apiece. It was decided they would both move on to round 2 in order to duke it out once more. Then they both lost. Darby lost to The Butcher by 20 votes and Jack lost to Trish Adora by 35 votes. This marks the end of both of their journeys with Darby getting a total of 193 votes and Jack finishing one slot above him at 216 total votes.

No one brought it up, but there was a tie in round 2 as well. Both Kota Ibushi and Mr. Brodie Lee earned a total of 79 votes. Working from the great tradition of precedent, they'll both be moving on to round 3.

And the near-tie that broke everyone's heart, Anthony Bowens VS Hangman Adam Page. The closest contest thus far that was separated by a single vote in Bowens' favor. Our cowboy will ride into the sunset and Anthony will live to scissor another day

AEW Dynamite 1/18/23

Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Jay Lethal for the AEW All Atlantic Championship -- This was fine. Short and sweet. Lot of nonsense with Jarrett, Sanjay, Singh and Danhausen. Cassidy retains with an Orange Punch. Rating: 2.75

The Young Bucks vs. Top Flight -- Springboard moonsault-assisted powerbomb by Top Flight! Slingshot Canadian destroyer by Nick! Doomsday Device by the Bucks! Nice homage to Jay Briscoe. The Bucks go for the BTE trigger, but Darius ducks and the Bucks collide with each other. Darius rolls up Matt for the pinfall!!! Wow!! This was a really good match. Nice surprise victory there for Top Flight. Didn’t expect it, but love to see it. Rating: 3.75

The Gunns are in the ring to talk about The Acclaimed. They say that they made The Acclaimed popular. They even gave The Acclaimed their dad. Lol. 

Ricky Starks vs. Jake Hager -- This is fine, short serves its purpose. Menard and Parker continuously try to get involved. This is Hager's demise in the end, as Starks shoves Hager into Parker on the apron follows up with a spear and for the pinfall. Starks continues to run through the JAS!! Rating: 2.25

Bryan Danielson vs. Bandido – Great start on the mat with some nice exchanges of holds. Romero Special by Bandido. Danielson reverses by picking the ankle, then transitioning into the surfboard position. Instead of going for the Romero Special, Danielson stomps the knees of Bandido into the mat! Nice pinning combination by Bandido, with Danielson's wrists captured behind his own back. Danielson muscles up with no hands to get his shoulders off the mat. What abdominal strength!! Bandido catches Danielson out of the air with a huge delayed hip toss, then locks in a nasty submission hold! Danielson manages to escape and books it to the outside!! Big topé con giro to the outside by Bandido!!! Uppercuts and kicks in the corner by Danielson! Bandido is down, and Danielson says, "now it's time," putting Bandido in the Romero Special, then transitioning into a pinning combo with the arms still trapped! But Bandido gets the shoulders up. Bandido throws Danielson into the air and absolutely slams him down onto the mat with something of a facebuster!!!!! Dang! Huge exchange of chops! Thrust kick and tornillo off the top by Bandido! Huge display of strength by Bandido with a delayed vertical suplex!!! Cover, but Danielson kicks out. Frog splash attempt by Bandido, but Danielson gets the knees up and transitions into the LeBell Lock!! Danielson traps the second arm, but Bandido gets his foot on the rope to break! Round kicks by Danielson, but Bandido catches the leg and lands an X knee!! Bandido goes for the 21-Plex, but Danielson reverses out onto his feet! BEAUTIFUL drop toe hold and pinning combo by Danielson, but Bandido kicks out! Bandido returns with the same pinning combo on Danielson, but Danielson kicks out! Outside the ring, Danielson lands a running knee strike! Back in the ring, both guys are on the top rope. Huge backflipping cross body from the top by Bandido, followed by the 21-Plex and a cover, but Danielson kicks out!!!! Exchange of elbows!!! Huge round kick by Danielson to Bandido's head!! Thrust kick by Bandido! Danielson grabs an armbar, and Bandido starts to deadlift Danielson up, but Danielson reverses!!! Psycho knee by Danielson!!! Cover by Danielson! 1, 2, 3!!!! Really, really great match here!!!!! Great showing by Bandido!!!!! Loved it!!! Rating: 4

While Danielson is still in the ring, MJF shows up on the big screen. He says he hears and reads everything people are saying about him not deserving his position in the company as champion. He calls these people fickle. He tells Danielson that until now, they have been dealing with Masked Max. He says Masked Max likes to keep things light and have some fun. But the closer they get to Revolution and the iron man match that Danielson thinks he wants, the mask is going to slip off. And not even a dragon is a match for the monster behind the mask. Good stuff!!!!!

Saraya with more disrespect to Shida backstage, calling her throwing the kendo stick into the ring last week stupid. 

Brian Cage is announced by commentary as Danielson's next opponent in his quest for number one contendership. Backstage, MJF holds up an envelope and tells Cage that he has more money there than Cage has ever seen in his life. He tells Cage that he doesn't care if Cage wins or loses against Danielson, but he does care that Cage breaks Danielson's arm. MJF slaps Cage in the face!!! Cage puts his hands around MJF's throat, but MJF asks if he wants the money or not. Cage lets him go. MJF: "See that feeling you've got right now? That's hate. And I learned at a young age, there is no greater motivator. So next week, use it." 

Toni Storm vs. Willow Nightingale -- This is a fine match. Some nice power moves from Willow. Really nice-looking spinebuster and a vicious shoulder tackle. Saraya with some heel antics, distracting the ref, while Storm rolls Willow up for the three count, tights in hand. Saraya and Storm attack Willow after the bell. Ruby Soho comes out for the save. This seems to have come out of nowhere. Rating: 2.25

Backstage with Renee, Takeshita talks about how it was great to wrestle his hero Bryan Danielson and how he has learned so much from Danielson. He also calls MJF an asshole. Nice.

Darby Allin (c) vs. Kushida for the TNT Championship -- Kushida!!!!!!!! So, so happy to see that he has escaped the clutches of WWE. Here we gooooo!!!! BEAUTIFUL start on the mat. Standing switches, wrist locks, pinning combos, quick armbar attempts. Outside, Kushida tries to trap Darby's arm, but Darby stops it by driving Kushida hard into the barricade! Back in the ring. Beautiful rolling elbow by Kushida!!! Darby lands a Code Red!!! Kushida kicks out and gets to the outside. Darby lands senton from the top rope to Kushida's friends from the NJPW LA Dojo on the outside. But Kushida comes from out of nowhere, locks in an armbar on Darby, runs with the arm trapped, and drives the arm down on the floor!!! Oh my god!!! Huge palm strike by Kushida in the ring!! Kushida traps Darby's wrist with his leg, then traps Darby's other arm and one of Darby's legs with his own hands. Kushida drops onto his back on the mat, wrenching down on Darby's trapped wrist. Strike exchange!!! Cross body and pele kick by Kushida! Kushida comes off the ropes, maybe looking for a back elbow, but Darby catches him in midair with a Scorpion Death Drop!!  Darby to the outside. Kushida lands a diving knee off the apron to Darby's shoulder!!! Damn!!!! Stunner on the apron by Darby!!! (Nasty landing for Darby here, his back hitting hard on the edge of the apron.) Damn!!! Darby goes to the top and dives to the outside, but Kushida catches his arm in armbar!! Holy shit!!! Back in the ring, both guys are onma the top rope. Kushida with a wrist lock on Darby on the top!!! Then Kushida flips backwards off the top with Darby's wrist still trapped, driving the wrist down into the mat! Oh my god!! Kushida transitions right into the Hoverboard Lock!!!! Darby escapes! Quick last supper pinning combo by Darby! 1, 2, 3!!!! Darby retains!! Kushida shakes Darby's hand and raises Darby's hand in victory after the match. Loved that. 

What a match!!! This was exactly everything I want in a wrestling match. Exactly my taste. Absolutely loved it. So great to see Kushida here, and Darby rocked as usual. Rating: 4

“i’ve got a feeling this year’s for me and you” | the 14th annual joe iconis christmas extravaganza night 2 early show and night 3 late show, 54 below, 12-14 and 12-15-2024 ***flashing light warning: slides 9, 12, and 14*** my second year of my favorite holiday tradition was a total blast!! i went to twice as many shows this year as i did last year, which meant double the chaos and double the fun, as if i’d expect anything less. it was so cool to see so many of my favorite iconis and family members between the two shows i went to, and especially so because i got to see some of them in different tracks than last year and some in different tracks on different nights, which was wild. there is always so much joy and silliness at joe’s shows but especially at the christmas shows, and i love that everyone onstage has just as much fun as everyone in the audience. 14th annual also marks the end of my sixth year of going to joe iconis’s musicals and cabarets, and i know i say this a lot, but i am so so very grateful for this incredible community and for all of the joy that i have in my life because of it. i got to go to eight of joe’s cabaret shows this year (one in pittsburgh, three over the summer, two halloween, and two christmas) with a bunch of my friends, and i feel like i’ve made my 2018 self very proud. my 2024 self definitely lived her best life this year :) thank you so much to every single person who made all of the joy and chaos of 14th annual possible - see y’all again at 15th annual, and may this tradition last forever!! rainy days - three shorts following our favourite duos

1. chris and ginny

"This stuff feels sticky." Ginny whined.

"Don't be so dramatic, Gin," Chris sighed, amused. Unable to contain herself, Ginny betrayed her act with a grin. Chris just smiled and continued to apply the creme eyeshadow to her girlfriend. "You do this all the time already, you're an actress."

"I know, I'm just messing with you." They were at Chris' house, her parents were out in a business trip so she was left alone for a few days. As soon as they left, Chris called Ginny over for a sleepover and started to give her a makeover to practice her skills.

"Allllright," Chris dragged out. "all done." She held up a mirror to Ginny, letting her see how she looked.

"Woah," She breathed. Chris had transformed her entire face into some mythical being, a new interest of her's ever since she saw Midsummer. "I look really good"

"You always look really good." Chris commented. Ginny met her eyes and they sat there, just watching each other intently until Ginny leaned forward and pressed her lips to Chris' gently, hands snaking up to her face. They broke apart for a second before Chris wrapped her hands around Ginny's waist and kissed her harder. They sat, making out for a little while, Ginny moving to sit in Chris' lap when a strike of lightening broke them apart, Ginny shooting up and letting out a little yelp. Chris snorted with laughter.

"Shut up," Ginny said laughing, hitting Chris in her shoulder.

"I think it's raining." Ginny got up off of Chris and helped her up, the two of them walking to the window to see buckets of rain falling in the late afternoon. They grinned and looked at each other. "You know what this means?" Ginny asked.

"Scary movie night?"

"Scary movie night." She confirmed.

Almost and hour later, the girls were cuddling on the couch with popcorn more than half way through Dracula. "I remember when this movie came out." Chris commented idly, her head on Ginny's lap.

"Oh yeah, you saw that with Chet, didn't you."

"I did. How do you know that?"

"I remember being really jealous of him." Chris lifted her head up off of her lap and sat up.

"You have nothing to be jealous of."

"Yeah, I know that now, but did you think I did back then?"

"Let me rephrase that. You never had anything to be jealous of. It was always you." Ginny smiled and pulled Chris in for a kiss.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Gin. Always."

Let's just say neither of them payed attention to the rest of the movie that night...

2. neil and todd

"Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest." Neil spoke. He and Todd were laying on his bed. Neil was reading him Hamlet as they lay tangled together on top of the sheets. Neil on his back with Todd's head on his chest listening to both his voice and Neil's heart beating in his chest.

"Have I ever told you how much I love it when you read Shakespeare?" Todd hummed dreamily. Neil huffed a laugh.

"All the time, love." He said, pressing a kiss to Todd's head.

"Good." It was a cold day at Welton, the boys had their radiator on high and relied on their lamps for light, not wanting to ruin the atmosphere. Neil kissed his head once again and just before he could continue reading, a crack of lightening sounded from outside. Todd got up quickly and practically ran to the window.

"Are you afraid of lightening?" Neil asked his boyfriend. Todd shook his head.

"No, I love it. It looks like a storm's coming." He turned to Neil. "What's the time?"

"Uh," He checked his watch. "around four." Todd looked at him in anticipation. "...What?"

"Can we go outside?" Neil sighed, weighing the options in his head. Carpe diem, he thought.

"Why not? We just have to be back by five so we can get changed before dinner." Todd grinned so wide Neil could see all of his teeth. He pulled him off the bed and have him a quick kiss before darting out the door, daring Neil go follow. Oh, how much he's changed, he thought happily before running after Todd.

By the time they made it far enough into the woods they wouldn't be seen, they were completely and utterly soaked, hair laying flat on their heads like helmets, jumpers heavily hanging off them. Neither could find it in themselves to care. Todd was spinning around in the rain, arms out, head back to feel the drops on his face. Neil ran up behind him and wrapped him up in a hug, arms circling his waist. Todd hummed happily and turned in Neil's arms, putting his own around Neil's shoulder, pressing their foreheads together.

They swayed gently to the imaginary music, spinning each other occasionally. Neither of them had ever been so happy. Both slow and needy kisses were exchanged in the rain that day. "I'm so glad I met you." Todd spoke. "Don't know where I would be without you."

"Get used to it Todd, because I'm not going anywhere."

"And I wouldn't have it any other way."

3. charlie and cameron

Charlie burst into his and Cameron's shared dorm room with a bang. "Jesus, Charlie. I'm trying to study. Do you have any respect for others?"

"Of course not. You've known me for years now, how did you forget that?" Cameron sighed and put down his pencil.

"What us it?"

"I'm going to cut right to the chase, my ginger friend-

"Don't call me that"

"-I need your help to get back at Hopkins."

"Why? What has he done?" Charlie sighed dramatically and flopped back on his bed. Cameron stared at him from his place at his desk.

"He ruined my prank on Hager by accidentally spilling the beans to him. Got me detention for a month as well as fifteen rounds with the paddle." Cameron cringed. He hated it when Charlie got beaten even if he'd never admit it.

"Then stop pranking maybe?" He faintly heard the sound of lightning outside. Neither of them payed it much attention.

"You're no fun."

"Hey," he said, putting up his hands in surrender. "you came in here and for my help." Charlie groaned.

"Only out of necessity. Trust me, I don't want to."

"Okay then, why not go find one of the others. Neil perhaps?" He said, starting to go back to his homework.

"Everyone else is busy doing something. You're the only one that's not."

"I'm literally doing homework."

"Yeah, like I said. Nothing." When Cameron didn't relent, Charlie begged. "Pleeeease, Cameron." He whined.

"What's in it for me, Dalton?" He finally gave in, dropping his pencil once again and turning to Charlie who only grinned.

"I solemnly swear to not tease you for two whole weeks. No pranks, no making fun of you." Cameron thought about it for a second. It really wasn't that great of a deal but he had been doing homework for hours now...

"Fine."

So that's how Richard Cameron ended up in this situation, distracting Hopkins as Charlie snuck into his room and put itching powder in his clothes drawer. This was so much more of a Neil job, if only he wasn't spending time with his boyfriend. (that's right, he knew about them. the boys often underestimated him. he was much more observant than they realised) Cameron couldn't converse for shit. "What did you need me for, Cameron?"

"Oh, uh, I... needed advice for the test on Monday! Yes, that's it." He lied (terribly). Hopkins gave him a quizzical look.

"You want my help on the test." Shit. He only realised how stupid that sounded now. "Did you hit your head or something?" Just as he was going to come up with another shitty lie, Charlie appeared behind Hopkins' shoulder, giving him a thumbs up.

"Um- you know what? Never mind." And sped off behind him, leaving Hopkins dumbfounded.

He caught up to Charlie who was whooping with laughter. "He's in for a surprise later on. What lie did you tell him?"

"Uh," He stammered. "I may have asked him for help on the chem test on Monday..." Charlie stood still for a moment, an unreadable expression on his face.

"You asked Hopkins for help?"

"Um... Yes?" They stood still for another moment before Charlie burst out in laughter. Cameron couldn't help the giggles that came out of his own lips at the sheer absurdity of the lie.

"Oh my god-" He gasped, trying to catch his breath.

"Shut up! I was put on the spot, okay?" That just made Charlie laugh harder and out his arm around his shoulders, walking through the halls.

"Maybe I should bring you on these more often."

"No." Charlie paused for a moment.

"Y'know, maybe you're not as much of a stick-in-the-mud as I thought." Cameron smiled.

"Maybe you're not as idiotic as I thought." They came to a window and saw it was pouring outside. Charlie looked at the rain, them back at Cameron. He tagged him quickly on the arm before running to the door that led out to the courtyard. "Tag! You're it!" Cameron smirked devilishly before following him out into the rain.

"Oh you're on, Dalton!"

A warm comfort fanfic about Dead Poets Society introducing Diana Williams. Might not always be (chronologically) accurate, but has the intention to warm your heart and take you to a wonderful place. Will (hopefully) be updated, because I love wrtiting it. Feel free to give feedback and correct linguistical mistakes <3

Chapter one, in which the thoughts are free

I stop and take a deep breath. The time-honoured school building looks stunning against the setting of trees, whose leaves are starting to turn colourful. I still can't believe I'm really here. My heartbeat accelerates with excitement as I let my gaze wander over the dark, weathered brick bulidings and the adjoining school grounds. A river runs through the valley and flows into a lake aside the houses. Welton Academy. I actually made it. A blast opens up the cloudy sky and the golden sun rays of late summer bathe the school building in their light. I close my eyes, hold my face against the warmth and then set out for the Academy, for a new life.

In front of the entrance door, an old man with grey hair is waiting for me. He introduces himself as Dr. Hager and shakes my hand. „You must be the recipient of the Eisenhower-Scholarship. Diana Williams, right?“ I nod. „Yes, Sir.“ „Well, in addition to my function as teacher of mathematics, I am residential supervisor for grades eleven and twelve, a cordial welcome to Welton Academy on my behalf. Please follow me to the director now.“ I tightly sqeeze my suitcase as I walk behind Dr. Hager. In the entrance hall, the walls are covered with pictures of former years and special awards of students. One day, my picture will be on these walls, too, I think and feel like I could scream with joy. But of course, I controll myself. Keep it upright, a slight smile on my lips, just like my mother told me to. Dr. Hager stops and knocks on a door made of the same dark wood the walls here are covered with up to shoulder height. „Come in!“, it sounds from the director's room. I square my shoulders, adjust my glasses and step in. Behind the huge mahogany desk sits a man with short, white hair. For a moment, his eyes behind the round glasses linger on my school uniform before he signifies for me to sit down. „Miss Williams, it is a pleasure to welcome you to this school. Your parents don't seem to have arrived with you?“ „No, Sir. They were both indispensable, so I took the train here by myself.“ Director Nolan takes notice with a nod and then continues. „You certainly understand why the school has asked you not to attend the traditional welcome ceremony. Students and parents have been informed about the project, but the school administration considered it appropriate to avoid any possible disruption of the ceremony.“ In other words, the teachers think the presence of a girl would lead to inappropriate behaviour on part of the students? I internally roll my eyes. „Miss Williams, as you know, your admission to this school is a pilot project. An attempt to see if teaching female students at an institution like Welton is possible. Of course, you are familiar with the rules of this school as well as our four pillars?“ „Yes, Sir. tradition, honor, discipline and excellence, Sir. It is a great honor for me to be able to attend this school.“, I say in a steady voice. Nolan nods again, almost approvingly this time. „Here, you are expected to adhere strictly to the tried and tested standarts and to understanf the four pillars as the headstone of your life. Be aware that your success or failure at this school contributes a major part in the decision about an enlargement of the pupils.“ I can feel his stern look on me, but I don't even blink. I have been aware of the efford and the responsibility this scholarship would entail from the very beginning, when I was suggested by my principal. „As for your school uniform“, Nolan throws a glance at my legs in the suit pants, „an alternative will be found as soon as possible. You will understand that until now, this institution hasn't had any need for adequate skirts.“ That's what I was afraid of. Why can't I just wear pants? Skirts may be pretty, but most of all, they are impractical. Well, my school uniform surely doesn't have top priority here. Who knows how long it will be until I actually have skirts to wear. „It also goes without saying that you won't exploit your position as, well, unique. It is an important requirement for the continuation of your scholarship that the concentrated working atmosphere in the classroom won't be disturbed. For this experiment to be successfull, you too are expected not to let living with male students diminish your achievements.“ „I assure you this won't be an issue, Sir.“ Nolan hands me a paper on which my schedule appears to be printed. „From tomorrow on, you will attend class with your classmates and, based on your last report cards, you will take part in the following extracurricular activities: Pupil's magazine, yearbook and debate club. Dr. Hager will now lead you to your room and I will have your class representative lead you through the school during the afternoon. He will also tell you where to pick up your books. Dinner starts at preciely six o'clock. He rises and so do I. „Thank you for your time, Sir.“ After a quick handshake, I am dismissed.

My new home is a small room, the last one on the left side oft the hallway, that has my name on it's door. The walls are dirty white and it's very plain, but at least it has a window with a wide ledge. It was probably originally used as a storage room or something, but now it has everything I need. A simple metall bed, a wardrobe for my clothes and a desk with a chair and a small lamp. It reminds me of home. I slowly put down my suitcase and step up to the window, from which I have a beautiful view of the school grounds. A slight mist is rising, making the lake and the far edge of the forest seem blurry and mystical. I feel tears rising in my eyes and I can't tell wether it's the beauty of nature or the fact that I'm actually here, at the best preperation school in the United States. Six month ago, I couldn't even dream of an opportunity like this. But now, with a lot of work and a degree from Welton Academy, I should even be able to go to college! Almost floating with happiness, I start unpacking my possesions. I didn't bring much, just a few everyday clothes, my coat and a pair of shoes, which I put into the closet next to the school uniforms that have been sent to me. I have just stored my books and writing material and am wondering what to do with my bathroom stuff when I hear muffled noises outside my door. A moment later, someone knocks. That's probably the class representative, i think and quickly put away my bathroom bag. When I open the door, a boy in grey Welton uniform is leaning against the frame and looks at me with a mischievous grin. Behind him stands a group of boys around my age whose facial expressions range from enthusiastic to mild panik. It's hilarious. I slightly raise my eyebrows. „Can I help you?“ The boy that's leaning in the door frame casually extends his hand. „Charlie Dalton. Welcome to Hell-ton.“ „Diana Williams. Pleased to meet you.“ As I shake his hand, he looks deeply into my eyes and pulls my hand to his lips. I sigh internally and stifle a grimace, but I continue to smile nonchalantly. Of course, I knew what kind of attention I would get here. Remain polite and kind, I admonish myself. Mother taught you the best way to handle situations like this. Fortunately, another boy steps forward and I can withdraw my hand. The boy's school jacket is covered with pins. „Diana, I'm Neil Perry, the class representative. Mr. Nolan sent me to show you around and“, he gestures to his companions and gives me an apologetic look, „these guys absolutely wanted to welcome you, too.“ I inconspicuously wipe my Charlie-Dalton-kissed hand on my pants before i extend it to Neil Perry. „That's nice of you“, I say, even though I can't quite avoid a mocking undertone.  „I understand that it must be rather unusual to have a girl here. Let me tell you, it's a weird situation for me, too. But please, come in if you want to. We really don't have to talk with one foot in the door.“ I sit down on the window sill and watch the whole group enter my freshly occupied room. Charlie Dalton immediately makes himself at home on my bed and another one takes a seat on my desk chair, but the others keep standing more or less awkward in the middle of the room. For a moment, nobody speaks, until I tilt my head and casually ask: „Alright, and how is the rest of my eloquent guests called?“ Charlie Dalton's grin widens as he begins to introduce the other guys. „This right here“, he points to the boy that is sitting on the desk chair, „is Steven Meeks, the genius of the class.“ Steven Meeks makes a face and slightly rises his hand. „To his right, we have Gerard Pitts.“ The boy is so tall that in order to stand unter the pitch of the roof, he has to crouch uncomfortably. „Those two are Knox Overstreet and Richard Cameron...“ A smiling boy and another one with a very neat haircut nod to me. „And this“, he points to a guy that is kind of shyly standing next to Neil Perry, „is Todd Anderson. You already know Neil here. We are the best your class has to offer, the rest is dull.“ I have to smile. „Alright Charlie Dalton, Steven Meeks, Gerard Pitts, Knox Overstreet, Richard Cameron, Todd Anderson and Neil Perry“, I say without missing a beat, „it's a great pleasure to meet you.“

The guys seem smart and adorable and I feel much more comfortable with them than I expected. We talk for a while, then Neil shoos them to the common room so he can carry out his duty as a guide. He shows me where to put my stuff in the bathroom and leads me through the school buildings and the classrooms in which I'll have class tomorrow. Neil chats to me cheerfully and tells me stories about teachers, but i hardly listen. I'm enchanted. The escritoires made from dark wood, the chalkboards, the pin boards, the smell of ink and paper. With every breath, I can feel all the knowledge, all the thoughts and hard work. In the room we have english class in, I sit on one of the escritoires, pull my knees to my chest and stroke the wood, that generations of students chafed with the back of their books, with my fingertips. „There is one thing I don't get“, I say and draw a circle around an ink stain. „You are telling me all these awful things about the teachers and how exhausting the classes will be and yet all I can think about is how beautiful it is here. Don't you feel the freedom this place is radiating?“ I look up and see Neil frown. „Freedom? If Welton lacks in one thing, than it's freedom, believe me on this one. You do have to be disciplined, or else you'll get penalty points.“ I nod pensively and jump off the escritoire. „Hm, I don't think that's what I mean.“ So we go and pick up my books. On our way back to the living quarters, we meet Todd who apparently has been waiting for Neil. Both of them accompany me to my room, where I store the books. Neil turnes to Todd. „Do you get a feeling of freedom when you enter Welton?“ Todd shakes his head. „No, if anything, the opposite of freedom.“, he says quietly. „Why?“ „That's how I felt.“ I turn around to face the boys. „And I think now I know why. You may not feel this way, but for me, this place is more than I could ever dream of. When I can make it here, then...“, I gesture vaguely, „basically anything seems possible.“ Neil and Todd nod. „I'm glad you feel this way“, Neil says with a smile. „You are right, your situation is just different. You didn't expect to go to Welton. But you'll see how little controll they give us here.“ I shrug as I watch the last rays of the dying sun slowly fade away. „The thoughts are free, boys.“ Before I can go on, the bell calls us to dinner.

Former champion Jon Moxley remains the number one contender for either championship at 21-1. Moxley sits at 27-3-1 overall.

Back-to-back Dynamite Diamond champion MJF sits at 11-1 in 2020 and sits in second. MJF is 17-3 since joining AEW full-time.

Sitting at third is Cody Rhodes, who is 20-3-1. The former TNT Champion is 30-9-2 overall in singles action.

Brian Cage and Team Taz teammate Ricky Starks round out the top five. Cage is 13-1 in 2020 and 14-2 overall. Meanwhile, Starks is 16-2 in 2020, holding an overall singles record of 17-4.

AEW Women’s Championship

Designed by Studio Seilern Architects, the Andermatt Concert Hall is the first major purpose-built concert hall in any Alpine ski village. The intimate hall features an exceptionally flexible stage capable of incorporating a 75-piece orchestra. The acoustics and theatre design are respectively by Kahle Acoustics and dUCKS scéno – the same teams behind the Philharmonie de Paris.

The project transforms an existing underground space that was originally intended to be used for conventions and events for the hotels nearby. Studio Seilern Architects has proposed to lift a large section of the existing roof to double the effective acoustic volume up to 5,340 m3, increasing the total capacity to able to host 75-piece full symphony orchestra and a total of 663 audience seats.

The Andermatt Concert Hall received planning consent on Friday 3 November.

The project will transform a building that was originally intended to be used for conventions and events, converting its existing shell to adhere to the acoustical requirements of a state-of-the-arts concert hall.

Studio Seilern Architects has proposed to lift a large section of the roof, allowing daylight to penetrate the space and increasing the effective acoustic volume from 2000m3 to 3500m3. As a result, the concert hall will be now able to host large orchestra concerts and louder orchestral ensembles. The raised and extended roof will create a covered plaza and an alternative entrance to the concert hall, allowing it to be independently accessed directly from the adjacent hotels.

Acoustic reflectors will flow through the upper volumes of the hall creating a dynamic view from the raised ground level. A centralised stage will sit against the foyer. This placement transforms the foyer into a crossover space for orchestra access during the performances, creating an intimate feel where audience and musicians are physically close and visually connected.
