im kinda annoyed when i hear people talking about "why isnt ml for console?"
did you. did you forget about the entire gps mechanic of the game. you do remember quadratum, the world of fiction, looks basically like our real life right? the world that you get to by passing through the astral realm? you remember that part right? its literally the entire basis of the closed beta?
i am sympathetic to people not having a phone to run it though. im not 100% sure mine will be able to run it. but for people who are complaining only because they don't like mobile games its like. *gestures* the gps mechanic

When cell phones and internet go down...
If you're in one of a myriad of marginalized groups who know they can't count on the government to help them, then this post is for you.
I feel like I'm cramming messages into bottles from my fairly niche interest (radio, emergency comms) and chucking them into the sea of Tumble in the hopes it reaches people it can help. What happened in Spain and Portugal recently and some of the cell outages we've seen in recent years - they're is a great example of why back up communication methods aren't just for doomsday preppers.
If cell phones and internet (and possibly power) went out, how would you communicate in an emergency?
Note: this is geared toward the US. It's where I am and it's all I know.
If I only had ~$25
I'd grab a Beofeng UV-5R ($18-$25) if I thought I might study to get my ham license eventually ($15-$25 test fee + $35 FCC fee),
OR
If I knew I didn't want to test for a ham license and thought I might pay $35 for a GMRS license eventually, I'd pay a little extra up front and get a Beofeng UV-5G plus GMRS radio (~$35)
While this would not allow me to transmit usually, this would allow me to:
call for help in an emergency - the license requirement for transmission is lifted in the event of a genuine emergency
listen to weather frequencies - it will not turn on and give you the alert but if you know bad weather is coming, you can turn it on and listen for alerts as they come in. Weather stations give alerts for a fairly broad area so you'll be able to hear about any significant storms as the move into and through your area.
listen to local repeaters - repeaters, in my experience, are kind of a combination of a megaphone and an internet chat room. You set the frequency and the PL tones (password sounds your radio sends) for the repeater and then you can hear people from much further away. This is one, just fun to listen to on a given day but two, a great way to find out information if your area is experiencing an event but you don't require help. Some even have EAS weather alerts (thought this still won't turn your radio on if it's off in an emergency). Use repeaterbook to look for repeaters in your area and use CHIRP to program them into your radio - tutorials abound.
For ~$15 more you can upgrade the UV-5R to a bigger battery and USB-C charging (UV-5G comes with USB-C charging).
This can be thrown in a go bag if you need to evacuate or your housing is unstable. You can have your handheld radio monitoring a local repeater while you have a car or portable radio listening to commercial or public stations for updates.
If I only had ~$100
I would get a GMRS license ($35) and a Beofeng UV-5G plus (~$35) and a single Meshtastic node (~$25).
If I had a little extra, I'd grab a second Meshtastic node for a roommate, partner, family member or nearby friend.
This would get me the ability to not only monitor frequencies but the ability to talk on them in non-emergency times which would be helpful practice. Some GMRS repeaters have regular "nets" - it's basically a meeting on air where someone invited folks to tell them/radio in their call sign (radio license ID basically) and then they confirm they heard you. This gives you a chance to test your equipment.
The GMRS license covers your family so they can pick up a radio as well and then you'd be able to communicate with them as well (as long as they're close enough; 1-5 miles but varies by terrain, more range if using a repeater). It's not a phone so the conversation would be heard by other people but this is great for wellness checks or a quick check up.
Meshtastics add the ability to text people and share GPS coordinates with people near by - encrypted if you so desire. The range is much less (I've only tested it to about a mile currently though with tweaking more is possible). This adds an important link in your communication plan - asynchronous communication. As long as the device is on and paired and in range, you'll most likely receive a message. It does drop occasionally but that's pretty rare. My nesting partner and I often have to rely on them because the internet and cell signal is so poor up here but they serve us incredibly well for that. Beyond the Emergency Comms use, it's just nice for morale to be able to text during an event. Best part is, if you're in an area were other people have them too, you can bounce your signal further for no additional power.
Past this amount of money, I'd still get my GMRS license and encourage my friends and neighbors who didn't want to study for the ham license to get theirs. Then I'd get my ham license and buy the best handheld I could afford - probably one of the value Yaesu models - so I have several ways to both coordinate among my loved ones and get any needs to a net in the area during a disaster.I'd get and pass out several meshtastic devices to people who were within range that I might want to commincate with. I'd look into back up power for recharging (I like my Jackerys).
Amateur radio is a deep well and this barely touches on it of it. Don't let how vast it is keep you thinking it's too complicated for you. I promise it's not. I'm very much a noob myself but I'm happy answer any questions that I can.
This is part of self care - ensuring you can care for yourself during chaotic events and emergencies to the best of your ability. Even a little bit of preparation can keep something like storm outbreak or power outage from turning harmful or even deadly. Learn what you can. You've got this!

💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Teleportation Circle Stamp
Wondrous item, rare ___ This handheld stamp is covered in arcane glyphs. When found, there is a 20 percent chance that it has a sigil sequence for a permanent teleportation circle carved into its wooden base, which has a diameter of 4 inches. You can carve a miniaturized sigil sequence that you know into the base of the stamp, provided it doesn't have one already. If it does, you can sand it flat and carve a new one instead. Either option takes 1 hour of careful work using a set of woodcarver's tools. If you're proficient with woodcarver's tools, it takes 10 minutes of work instead. While holding the carved stamp, you can use an action to apply a wash of fine inks worth no less than 10 gp onto its carved base. You can then use an action on a following turn within 1 minute to press the inked stamp onto a flat surface within your reach, creating a special "teleportation circle" at that point that's 4 inches across. The circle remains until the end of your next turn, at which point it flashes with arcane power and disappears. Any object that's fully within the circle's area is magically teleported to the linked teleportation circle when it disappears. Creatures can't be teleported using this special circle, and any item that creates an extradimensional space, such as a "portable hole," fails to teleport through the circle when it disappears. ___ ✨ Patrons get huge perks! Access this and hundreds of other item cards, art files, and compendium entries when you support The Griffon's Saddlebag on Patreon for less than $10 a month!

When MC Drives For Them on a Road Trip
THE DEMON BROTHERS
1.7k words | NSFW | gn!Reader
Content warnings: Mostly lots of fluff and family dynamics, minor cursing. Some suggestive content but nothing explicit.
A/N: I think they'd appreciate the novelty of MC driving them on a road trip in the human world. I think they'd find it attractive too.
Tumblr media
LUCIFER
Tumblr media
He offers to drive if you don't want to because his main priority is that you enjoy yourself.
If you insist on driving, he wants to sit in the passenger seat, and he'll play play rock-paper-scissors if that's what it takes.
If you need directions, he reads them off your phone for you instead of using the GPS.
He adjusts the trip so you drive along the scenic routes instead of the busy freeways—it's nicer for sight-seeing.
(And it's a convenient excuse to spend more time with you if you're the only ones in the car.)
He won't admit it, but he's concerned about the other terrible drivers out there so he'll choose whatever route avoids the busiest highways if he can.
He tells you that you can listen to whatever music you like, but he’s very happy if you choose to play something more suited to his tastes.
If you place your free hand across the gear shift, he'll lace his fingers with yours, even if his brothers in the back seat whine or tease him about it.
If you go on an evening drive together, there's a very good chance you'll end up making out after he drags you into his lap.
He likes to get you worked up, and then he smirks when you drive back faster than necessary.
Tumblr media
MAMMON
Tumblr media
He's willing to drive for you too, even though the others will complain about it.
They tell you that he's so reckless when he drives, but you've never seen anything like that in your experience.
(He drives slower and safer because you're in the car with him.)
He's also willing to play rock-paper-scissors for the front seat, and he’ll start offering bribes to whoever won if they’ll let him have their spot.
He turns the volume up if you want to listen to music in the car—he says it helps drown out the losers stuck in the back seat.
He usually puts on the playlist you made together so it's the perfect blend of both your favourite music.
If any of his brothers are in the car, he doesn't hesitate to offer you his hand across the gear shift.
If you're alone, he'll rest his hand on your thigh or he'll stretch his arm across the back of your seat.
He's too distracted chatting with you to offer to help with directions, so you'll need your GPS for that.
He won't complain about your driving at all—he might even encourage you to drive faster.
He will 100% will make out with you in the car, and if he's feeling particularly riled up, he might ask you to ride him in the front seat, or he'll fuck you against the hood.
Tumblr media
LEVIATHAN
Tumblr media
He doesn't mind sitting in the back seat—the glare from the windshield can be annoying if he wants to play his handheld.
If he's not watching a livestream on his phone, he might request to listen to playlist of his favourite anime opening/ending songs.
(You already have it on your phone, sometimes you listen to it when you miss him.)
He thinks it's hot cool that you know how to drive, but he won't admit it.
He might joke that it's a good thing you're a better driver in the human world than you are playing Devil Kart.
If you pretend to be offended, he gets flustered and stutters when he tries to apologize.
Depending on how well he slept the night before your trip, he might doze off beside you even though he tries to stay awake.
He spends half the trip glancing at you nervously and wiping his clammy hands on his pant leg before he clears his throat dramatically and holds his hand palm-up over the gear shift.
He stares out the window and pretends he doesn't care what you do, but you can tell he's smiling when you take his hand in yours.
He's too anxious to initiate anything in the car, but he will fall to pieces if you suggest he gets in the back seat.
He turns beet-red when you tell him it'll be more comfortable to blow him or ride him back there, and he fumbles with his seatbelt in his haste to switch seats.
Tumblr media
SATAN
Tumblr media
He would prefer to sit in the front seat with you, but he won't throw too much of a fit if he can't.
The exception being: if Lucifer ends up sitting next to you, Satan will sit behind him and kick the back of his seat throughout the entire trip.
He feigns innocence when you glance at him over your shoulder, but you hear his quiet grumble about how Lucifer started it (even when he didn't).
It's so much worse if Lucifer, Satan and Belphie are in the car together.
Lucifer insists that their antics are too disruptive for you and it usually devolves into him warning them to behave or else.
All you have to do is threaten to withhold cuddles/napping together/kissing and they (mostly) behave themselves after that.
Satan prefers to keep the radio volume low because he'd rather talk to you than listen to music.
He brought a book with him, but more often than not it ends up ignored on his lap while you chat for most of the drive instead.
He'll reach for your hand if it's free, or he'll rest his hand on your thigh if it's not.
He's the one climbing into the back seat and trying to drag you back there with him as soon as you've parked the car somewhere partially secluded.
Tumblr media
ASMODEUS
Tumblr media
He likes sitting in the front seat where the sun is bright and warm, and he likes being able to stretch out and relax.
He buys you new sunglasses, even if you have your own.
They match the new ones he bought himself, and he likes to compliment how good they look on you.
(He gets annoyed if Mammon any of his brothers try to wear them, he bought them for you.)
He'll sing along with whatever music is playing.
He gets a little flustered when you compliment his singing, so don't be surprised if he scrolls through your playlist and croons out a sappy love ballad to get you worked up in retaliation.
If you're not listening to music, he scrolls through his social media feeds and updates you on the latest gossip.
He's also taking lots of pictures and videos of human world scenery and neat things he sees along the way.
He takes a lot of pictures of you, too.
He likes to hold your hand while you drive.
If he feels particularly affectionate, he tells you quietly how much he appreciates spending quality time with you like this.
He's not as fond of car quickies—a heated make out session to tease you is as far as he normally pushes things.
After a long drive, he's more interested in drawing a warm bath for both of you so you can relax properly after being cramped in the car all day.
Besides, he'd rather take his time when he shows his appreciation for you between soft sheets on a comfortable bed.
Tumblr media
BEELZEBUB
Tumblr media
You basically give him the passenger seat by default because you know he'd be too cramped in the back seat.
He feels bad if the others whine about it, and he'll offer to switch seats if that means they'll stop bothering you.
Of course, that's very nice of him to offer, but no, they can deal with it.
He feels bad chatting with you too much because he thinks it's distracting, but he's more talkative if you reassure him it's fine.
He packed a lot of snacks for the trip, but most of them are in the backseat or the trunk.
If he keeps them in the front seat, they won't last very long.
If you see a farmer's stand along a country road, you pull over so he can look at whatever's for sale.
You figure buying fresh fruit or home-baked goods is better than buying junk at a gas station, and Beel appreciates the snack variety.
He doesn't buy a lot of souvenirs on these types of trips because he spends a lot of money on buying food to share with you instead.
Trips with Beel take a bit longer because of food-related detours, but the others enjoy them too even if they don't want to admit it.
They like knowing you're well-fed and rested if you're driving, and they can trust Beel take care of you in that way.
If he's feeling frisky, Beel's more likely to press you against the hood or side of the car if he wants to kiss you (or more).
He still prefers to you to bed properly once you've both had a shower and a snack together.
Tumblr media
BELPHEGOR
Tumblr media
He won't put up much of a fight for the front seat since the back is more comfortable for napping.
If it's just the two of you, he sits up front with a neck pillow (that you bought him), and you keep the music volume low if he's napping.
He's interested in the new places you explore together, and he likes picking up little souvenirs from your travels.
You offer to stop if he sees an interesting tourist attraction so he can take photos (usually of you, and Beel if he's there too).
He forgets to bring sunglasses with him which means he usually asks to borrow yours.
Sometimes he gives them back, sometimes he doesn't.
He'll hold your hand while you drive, or he'll trace little shapes into the top of your thigh to tease you.
He might rile you up on purpose so that you're a squirmy, needy mess.
If you drive somewhere secluded and pull over, he lays across the back seat and pulls you on top of him.
Kissing him is slow and lazy and indulgent, but if you ask him nicely, he'll make sure you're sated before you have to drive again.

The 141 break into your house. Whoops! A Gaz x F!Reader fic Warnings: violence, guns, human traffickers, eventual smut, home invasion, fast as fuck cars, dead parents, angst, misunderstanding to lovers Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
1. A Little Less Boy Next Door, A Little More Home Invader
“...okay, I have an address for you.” Laswell’s voice crackled through Price’s comms. He sat forward in the driver’s seat of the stolen sedan, making Ghost glance at him from the passenger’s seat.
“Direct me,” he said, one hand leaving the wheel as he passed Ghost the small, handheld GPS. As Laswell recited coordinates, Gaz sat forward in the backseat.
“What should we expect to walk into?” he asked, concern in his voice as he glanced over at Soap, who was bleeding and half-conscious in the seat beside him.
“Old mentor of mine from the CIA. He’s been retired for a while but is always willing to lend a hand. I tried calling ahead, but there was no answer. I have on good authority there’s a key hidden at the base of the birdbath in the front yard.” Laswell said.
“Captain Walker? I haven’t seen him since he walked without a cane and his daughter was little. It’ll be nice to see him again, despite the circumstances.” Price said.
The GPS settled on a route, and Price pushed down harder on the gas pedal as they hurdled across the night.
You couldn’t sleep.
As shuffled through the living room on your way back from the kitchen to get a glass of water, a glint of light caught your eye. Your heart broke all over again as you reached on top of the fireplace and gathered the simple urn containing your father’s ashes in trembling hands.
You’d picked him up earlier that day. At least now he’d be able to be beside your mother once more.
You put his urn back into its place, scooting it closer to your mother’s. Being alone in the world was suffocating. A car wreck had snuffed him from existence just two weeks ago and you could still hardly stomach your new reality.
In less than a month your life had collapsed. Your fiancee was the first to leave, along with most of your former friends. You’d lost your job, your apartment. And after moving back in with your father, you’d lost him too.
You padded back to your room, the great weight that you carried seeming to become even heavier. As you slipped into bed once more, you shut your eyes and tried to shut out the world.
A noise pierced the darkness. Your eyes cracked open as two car doors slammed outside. The sound of male voices, indistinct and far away, drifted through your open window.
You sat up and swung your legs over the bed, foregoing your slippers this time. If the cops found your dead body stuffed into your dad’s old novelty fish slippers, you’d be embarrassed. Crossing the room in an instant, you flung open your closet.
You had a shotgun loaded and were halfway down the stairs in the blink of an eye. Even though he was gone, you were still your father’s daughter.
You tensed as the sound of a key slotting into a lock echoed from the front door. There was a twist, then a click, and the door swung open. Coyotes began to yap and yowl in the distance. They were chasing prey.
Boots clomped across your threshold and your breath caught in your throat. This had never actually happened before. You made it to the bottom of the stairs, silent as a kangaroo rat, and took a deep, shaky breath. The boots kept clomping toward you. You rounded the corner and aimed the shotgun at the head of the boots’ owner.
“One more step and I’ll-”
He grabbed the gun, forcing the muzzle up toward the ceiling and slammed you back into the wall, knocking your head into a picture frame and sending it to the ground where it shattered. You wailed in pain, the fight leaving your body as you tried to slide free from his grasp, letting go of your shotgun. Your assailant tossed it aside and pinned you to the wall by your wrists.
“Who are you?” he yelled as you shied away from him, not daring to look him in the face.
“Just take what you want and leave!” you wailed, tears falling from your eyes as you did your best to squirm away from him.
“Where’s Captain Walker?” he shouted.
“Dead!” you screamed, your vision blurring as your knees gave out. The man holding you to the wall let go of you and you collapsed to the ground, sobbing into your hands.
“Gaz, what’s going on?” a voice echoed through your entryway. Another man joined the one who’d pinned you. You shied away as he knelt beside you.
“Came at me with a shotgun. Says Captain Walker is dead. Don’t know what to make of her,” Gaz said, picking up the shotgun he’d tossed aside before clearing the chambers.
“It’s alright, love. Not going to hurt you,” the other man said. He offered a hand but you didn’t take it, wiping the tears from your eyes to take them in. As the second man got a good look at your face, recognition flashed across his features.
“I’ll be damned. You’re Walker’s daughter, aren’t you?” he asked. You nodded stiffly, your eyes snapping to the doorway as a large man came in, a second man in his arms.
“I’m sorry to barge in on you like this. We were expecting your father. Has he…passed?” the man asked, drawing your attention back to him. You heard the door shut and lock in the entryway.
“Two weeks ago,” you said, your voice breaking as tears rushed into your eyes again. “Who are you? What do you want with my dad? Why did you break into my house?” you asked, sniffling as indignation began to seep into your voice.
“I’m an old friend of your father’s. He offered this place as a refuge should any of his friends ever need it. I have a man hurt and we need a place to lie low for a little while.” he said. You stood shakily, looking around your living room at the chaos.
“The damage is…done. But I want proof. Who are you?” you asked.
“John Price of the SAS. I can put you in contact with a former subordinate of your father’s to confirm everything. Do you know Kate Laswell?” Price asked as he stood with you.
“Laswell. I…never called her,” you breathed. Price’s brow furrowed. “After he passed.” you explained. He nodded.
“I’ll take care of that. Right now, rest. You’ve had an eventful night,” Price said, turning to Gaz. “Can you help get her settled?” he asked. You flinched as your gaze met Gaz’s. He nodded, and as Price stepped away to help tend to his wounded, he approached.
“I’m sorry, love. You gave me quite the fright there,” he said with a small smile, offering his hand. You took it reluctantly.
“You scared me too,” you said, unable to meet his eyes as he lead you into the kitchen.
“I am sorry. Don’t quite know what to say, if I’m honest. I’ve never mucked up a first impression on a woman quite so badly,” he said, pulling a chair at the kitchen table out for you. The lights in the house had been turned on and you watched as he snagged a few bags of frozen peas from your freezer.
“It’s not the worst first impression I’ve ever had of a man,” you offered after a minute to break the silence.
“There’s a story there,” Gaz said as he settled the peas onto your bruising wrists.
“My financ-- ex fiance and I met when he collapsed on my desk at work and threw up on my brand new shoes,” you said, unable to stop the giggle that slipped from your lips. Gaz laughed, returning to you with a glass of water.
“Christ, that’s horrendous. Was he drunk?” he asked, pushing the glass into your hands.
“Nope. I used to work at a pharmacy in a hospital. He came to pick up medication after being discharged, but apparently wasn’t ready to go yet,” you said, picking up the glass in a shaking hand. As soon as you’d downed it, you rose.
“I’m going to get some rest,” you said, turning to go.
“Are you sure you don’t need anything else?” Gaz asked, surging forward to be at your side. You flinched, doing your best to keep the peas balanced on your wrists.
“No. Thank you,” you said, offering a wry smile as you headed for the stairs.
As soon as you were out of sight, Gaz sighed. There was a weak chuckle from the living room and he caught Soap’s eye.
“Ye think she’s bonnie, don’t ye?” he teased weakly. Gaz felt blood rush to his face and his ears felt hot.
“You’re on pain meds, mate. Noticing things that aren’t there,” he said. He fiddled with the shells he’d taken from your shotgun absentmindedly, sitting down on the couch that was the furthest away from Soap.
“It’s true, though, she is bonnie. Almost as bonnie as you, LT,” Soap slurred, his hand coming to rest on Ghost’s thigh. Ghost merely stood, glaring down at the Scot before going to sit beside Gaz.
“Tough crowd,” whined Soap.
You woke the next morning to light streaming in through your windows and knocking at your bedroom door. Sleep had hit you hard the night before and you sat up, rubbing your eyes and struggling to adjust to consciousness. Your wrists were sore and the thawed bags of peas had dropped to the ground. The knocking came again
You slid your feet into the fish slippers and padded to the door, opening it and gazing at your visitor. Gaz stood before you, a plate in his hands.
“Did I wake you?” he asked, stepping back as he took in your sleepy form. You nodded.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. You took him in. He was still wearing the clothes he’d been in the night before, sans gear. He was covered in grime and dried sweat and smelled a little.
“You didn’t shower?” you asked. Gaz paused, taken aback.
“Suppose we didn’t think to,” he said. You stood in silence for a moment, awkwardness filling the hallway.
“I made breakfast. I thought you might want some,” he said after a beat, seeming to remember why he’d woken you in the first place. He held out the plate as if in offering to a god - almost timidly, with great reverence. You smiled and took it, snagging a slice of apple from the edge.
“Of course I want some. Who in their right mind turns down breakfast, even if it is from an intruder?” you asked. Gaz laughed a little and followed you as you left your room, headed for the kitchen table.
The rest of the men seemed to have already eaten, and you noticed that like Gaz, none of them had showered. You cringed internally at the thought of the sweat and grime permeating your furniture.
“Good morning,” Captain Price greeted as you sat down at the kitchen table, tucking into your food.
“Morning. You know, if you guys are going to be here, you might as well make use of the entire place,” you said. “I’ve got guest bedrooms - there’s no need to sleep on the couch and the floor. There’s four bathrooms in this house. Go get cleaned up, you can throw your clothes in the wash. My dad’s closet is yours to raid,” you said.
“Think she’s sayin’ you stink, Ghost,” the wounded man with the Scottish accent wheezed from the corner. You felt heat rush to your face.
“No, no, nothing like that. It’s just…if you were friends of my dad, then I want to treat you how he would’ve - with open arms,” you said, embarrassed.
“You dad was a good man, love. I’m sorry to have barged in on you like this. Would’ve left right away had we any other choice,” Price admitted.
“Honestly? If you’re going to keep waking me up to freshly made pancakes, you can stay as long as you want.”
You dressed after breakfast and brought out some of your dad’s old clothes. The boys had showered one at a time, and much to your amusement, Captain Price seemed to take a liking to your dad’s Hawiian shirt collection. Paired with his boonie hat and a pair of your dad’s cargo shorts, the resemblance was striking and made your eyes misty for a moment.
When the big man in the skull balaclava left to take his shower, the Scot beckoned you over conspiratorially. You sat beside him curiously, leaning in to hear him as he spoke in a low voice.
“What do ye think of Gaz, lass?” he asked, a pain medication induced twinkle in his eye. You laughed nervously.
“He’s…kind of scary, like the rest of you,” you admitted. There was no denying the aura of danger that each of the men in your house radiated. You imagined your father was once the same, but you’d never seen that side of him. You’d never been exposed to his job like this.
“Between ye and me, he thinks yer bonnie. Don’t tell him I said tha,” the Scot slurred.
“I don’t know what that means,” you admitted with a laugh. Noticing his bandages had become a little grimy, you stood to fetch your first aid kit. When you returned to him and started removing his old bandages, he wiggled his eyebrows at you.
“Don’t let Kyle see ye touchin’ me or he’ll be jealous,” he teased. You rolled your eyes.
“What’s your name?” you asked curiously, focusing on cleaning his wounds and redoing the bandages.
“Johnny to ye, lass. The big fucker in the shower without me is Ghost,” he pouted.
“You can clean up if you want to. I’m sure your boyfriend wouldn’t mind helping you,” you said. Johnny’s eyes shot open from where they were half lidded.
“He’s not my boyfriend!” he cried, startling you. He glanced around, eyes searching the room frantically before they settled back on you. “How did ye know?” he hissed. You closed the first aid kit and shrugged.
“Just…guessed, I suppose. But don’t worry, my lips are sealed,” you promised.
You left Soap to his own devices and he fell asleep rather quickly. You went outside to work in your dad’s garden after lunch, wanting some space from the home invaders and some peace and quiet. The hours slipped by, and you reluctantly came inside when the sun slipped below the horizon.
The fridge, which had been stocked with enough groceries for one, was mostly emptied. You sighed and started making a list of what you’d need to get at the store the next day. The groceries for one had become groceries for five.

Obey Me - roadtrips
I was stuck in the car for 9 hours driving from Louisiana to Tennessee and I started thinking about the brothers from Obey Me and roadtrips. So here are a few hcs I came up with during my time hanging out in the passenger seat.
Lucifer- always the driver. Doesn't need the GPS bc he memorized the directions. He's just that good. Unless specifically requested, he's not playing any music. Completely dead silent like a psychopath. MC really has to beg for him to relent and when he does, it's going to be something soft and chill. Doesn't care for road trip games, but will begrudgingly play along if asked by mc. No stopping unless it's on his itinerary or someone Really has to go to the bathroom.  His number one road trip need is company, he hates to go alone.
Mammon-loves to drive, but doesn't have to. He likes having energy drinks readily available, especially for long trips. Expects his shotgun to navigate. Likes high energy, bass heavy music, something that really gets him going. Gets too distracted for road trip games. Wants to make a million sidestops. His number one road trip need is music, he can't stand the silence.
Leviathan- 100% passenger princess. Cannot be depended on for navigation. He's usually got his head buried in a handheld game or manga. If he gets to pick the music, it's his weeb shit. He doesn't care about side stops, he's barely paying attention. If he had his way, he'd still be at home, buried alive in his room. His number one road trip need is simply to be left alone until he gets where he's going.
Satan- he doesn't mind driving, but he'd rather shotgun. He's got GPS running nonstop because he doesn't trust anyone else to navigate (unless it's lucifer, but he'd rather it be ANYONE else with him). He would like to listen to classical music while driving, or an audio book if he can. He's too busy following the GPS to stop anywhere. His number one road trip need is no traffic.
Asmo- not even a passenger princess. They're sprawled in the backseat taking up as much room as they can, whether it's the or their stuff spread everywhere. Probably livestreaming the entire time (how many times can we do x before y loses their shit and turns this car around?). Definitely did a 'get ready with me/us' and bugged their brothers to share tips and tricks for road trip travel with the camera. Pop music blaring. Only wants to stop if it's for something trendy or they really need to pee. Their number one road trip need is an audience, whether it be in the car or online
Beel- he's more comfortable driving. Makes him feel useful. Definitely depends on someone to navigate for him. He will let anyone pick the music, I think his prefernce would be nu metal or hard rock, something with growly vocals. He'll stop whenever he feels like someone needs to stretch or they might be feeling even the tiniest bit hungry or thirsty. You don't even have to ask. His number one road trip need is snacks.
Belphie-definitely asleep in the backseat. Absolutely no help with navigation but also isn't the one who's going to ask to stop 1837373 times because... He's asleep. Might wake up if there's a traffic jam, but he's just gonna look around, realize he's definitely not made it to his destination and then he's out again. If he absolutely had to be involved, he's going to complain the entire time. his number one road trip need is an empty backseat to stretch out on as much as possible.

Miami GP Review (Very Long)
I was at the Miami GP last weekend and so decided to share everything that I think is helpful if you are considering going next year. Keep in mind I was only there for Saturday so I did not see everything, but I think I saw/did quite a bit.
In the nature of transparency I had grandstand tickets for the West Campus(turn 18 grandstands) in row two thanks to my mom's coworker selling them to us for a major discount. So it could be different at different grandstands or if you do general access.
Starting strong on things I would STRONGLY recommend. A fan. I cannot stress enough how hot it can and will get in Florida during the day. Especially accounting for humidity it can feel miserable and you need to keep cool. Fans, misters, cooling towels anything you can think of, do. I brought both a handheld folding fan and an electric fan. We used both frequently. I would also strongly recommend bringing your own water bottle inside. You can get more water and don't have to spend 6 dollars on a water. The water refill stations were very nice and water was cold. I dont think every station had them but the one in the fountains near the entrance was giving out liquid IV.
TRANSPORTATION:
If you want to save money I would recommend not staying near the track. I took the tri rail down and it only took about 40-50 minutes on the way there and the way back. And tickets were only $5 per person for a roundtrip ticket. The one downside is you have to watch the time towards the end of the day because their latest northbound trains are 6:14 pm and 9:14 pm. We weren't going to make the 6 train so we ended up leaving the paddock later to avoid crowds (we ended up waiting an hour and a half for the next one) The Tri rail provided a shuttle bus to the paddock and dropped off at Lot 16 (It was right across the street from gate 3) Parking was really expensive even for the far parking lots however we did only look the week of the GP for parking. People who live near the track also will let you park in their yards, so if that doesn't worry you that's also an option.
FOOD & DRINKS:
The food was a bit pricey. Stadium food I considered reasonable pretzel was I think 7, and big pizza slices were around 11 I think. So you can find decently priced food however we did pay $75 for lunch for two(for transparency it came in a box and was a wagyu steak sandwich) but you can find cheaper options. They have food karts and actually booths so you can find a lot of options(I saw poke bowls, sushi, burgers, pizza, ect)
MERCH:
Normal merch was really expensive, so I would choose to buy any merch online, not in the paddock. But you can find a lot of options if spending isn't a concern. Chase had a store that was 20% off if you payed with a chase card. We got a long sleeve shirt($75) and short sleeve shirt($60) for $114 and then a tote bag for free. So stuff there was a lot cheaper than the f1 merch booths.
RACING SERIES:
There was 3 separate series going on Formula 1, F1 Academy, and the Porsche Carrera Cup. The Porsche cars are so loud. We were leaving towards the end of their race and got stuck next to the track my ears hurt so bad😭 so I would recommend ear plugs for that event even if you don't use them for F1/F1 academy. Also if you have the opportunity I cannot stress enough to watch the different racing series bcs I actually got really interested in them and it was really cool.
F1 academy is so so cool pls do not sleep on it when you go🙏 the racing was good and I was really invested during the race. Saw a good amount of overtakes and you can see the the F1 academy paddock which was cool, it was raining, and we were gonna be late to the F1 sprint race so we didn't stop that long but definitely next time around.
Tumblr media
F1 obviously was super cool, being in a crowd is a bit funny because everyone is just going ohhh at the same times. The commentary was loud and clear so it was pretty easy to follow what we were seeing. I didn't use earplugs for the majority of the race events, cause I didn't find it that loud to me, but if loud noises do bother you I would recommend earplugs. (Enjoy my mediocre and crappy camera work)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FAN THINGS:
There was a lot of stuff to look at. They had a pitstop challenge, show car, you could see the championship trophy, and the paddocks for the other series. We also had the Lego cars on our side of the campus (I waited like 10 mins to take a photo of the Ferrari Lego car bcs a group of people were standing and talking right in front of it😭)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
BATHROOMS:
The bathrooms near the front (aka the permanent buildings) are nice. Porta potties were not but that's to be expected a lot of the sinks for those were out of order or had no water. So bring hand sanitizer or something.
RANDOM:
We got confused getting to our grandstands because we went to the stadium first and got confused on how to leave😭. So we were really turned around but eventually got there. I'd bring a poncho no matter what Florida weather says, we had only like 20% chance of rain I think and it ended up raining for a lot of the morning. Maybe it was the rain but our maps did not last the whole day so I'd grab more than 1 in case one breaks. If you don't have the right shoes you will get blisters. 2 random things I brought that I was really glad I did were extra socks(thicker). My feet were hurting a lot towards the end and I put them on and it really helped get me through the end. And then a word search or some kind of small entertainment thing. My mom and I like raced each other to find words first while waiting for the next event to start after we had lunch(it was like 20 mins) and then waiting for our train she did them for like an hour.
FANS:
I didn't have any issues with people, the fans I met were really nice, I did hear one person make a mean comment about me but I was also saying oh thank God when Lando couldn't beat Max's pole time so that may have been why😭.
Overall it was such a nice experience and I had a lot of fun. The walk out of the paddock is the worst because my thighs were chaffing so bad but even then I had such a good time. And definitely want to go again next year
Tumblr media
(the stadium, people kept cheering randomly so I think they were seeing people😭 I think I saw one of the alpine drivers but I couldn't tell whose buzz cut it was, and then I feel so certain that I saw GP(or I'm delusional but ehh)

modern au chekov i’ve been talking abt non stop for the past couple days. i haven’t completely settled on a backstory for him, but i think he’s a college graduate at 17 who meets the rest of the bridge crew at 18 and joins up with them bc he hasn’t found a job yet and he’s got nothing else better to do. he prefers using maps and a compass(just to double check) to plot out courses, but he isn’t dumb, and does recognize the need for a gps sometimes. he won’t let anyone in the group use their phone’s gps, though. if it has to be by gps, it’ll be by his handheld unit with longer battery life and much higher durability. he’s independent and pretty sarcastic, but he genuinely gets along with the rest of the crew, and he has a lot of fun with them. in his free time, he likes to do some amateur cartography of what ever mountains, valleys, or rivers are nearby
who should i do next?

could you do a hunting gear haul of all the stuff you use for the dogs, like the reflective vests that you use and collars and such. I don't know what reflective vest I should buy for my dog and am wondering what a hunter uses.
The vests are old Ruffwear Track Jackets, they are not made anymore but you can still find them in ruffwear resale groups on facebook and sites like ebay. The newer version Ruffwear has is more bulky. A lot of hunters use vests made by a guy called Larry Riel, he does stuff the old fashioned way, you gotta call him and send a check.
The collars I have are 1.5" reflective biothane with name plates riveted on. I do not use dangly tags when hunting, they just get ripped off. I buy most of my hunting dog collars from Outdoor Dog Supply and Double U Supply.
You can use whatever leash, always have one with you.
My dogs also wear Garmin Alpha GPS collars. I have the Alpha 100 and TT15Mini collars. I like being able to use the tone when my dogs are out of sight or hearing for recall. If you want a Garmin GPS but don't want ecollar functions (which are customizable) you could get an Astro instead. I have birdseye, property types, terrain, trails, and road maps installed on my handheld. Be very careful buying these used, don't get them from some random guy on facebook as most of the time that is a scam. Buy from a Garmin authorized reseller for used and refurbished units. Most of them run black friday deals on Alpha and Astro units and collars.
GPS is not necessary to hunt with, I just strongly prefer to have it because I hunt on small tracts of land and like to know exactly where my dogs are.
You can use a cheap blaze orange shirt, hoodie, hat, or vest from walmart and as long as you've got the minimum required amount of blaze for your state you'll be good. You can carry squirrels in any kind of bag or pack, you do not need specialized equipment for that but it does make it easier.
The first vest I used was a Browning Upland vest I got for cheap on sale somewhere online. It's got pockets for carrying shells and game, but did not have a waist belt, was kinda bulky, and got warm quickly. This is a very common style of vest and you can find them for much cheaper than this one is new.
The vest I use currently is an older Orvis Pro Upland vest. I got this on sale too, I almost never pay full price for hunting stuff. They have a couple other models, and lots of other companies make these too. The problem I have with mine (and a few others I've tried) is they are too big even in the small size, and getting a vest that actually fits me from a company that makes products for smaller people and women is ridiculously expensive, so I just deal with it.
Most of my smaller hunting gear fits in this vest. Binoculars, leash, spare battery for the GPS, a headlamp, water bottle, multi-tool, snacks, and ammunition.
Boots, boots are very important. Wear something comfortable that is built for the terrain you'll be hunting in. During the earlier season or if it's not too cold and there's not a lot of water or snow, I wear my Merrell Moab hiking boots. I occasionally wear a pair of gaiters if I'm hunting a really brushy area, but only with the hiking boots. Once it's cold, snowy, or really wet, I wear muck boots, usually my Arctic Pros.
My favorite brand of socks are Darn Tough, I wear those for everything. They are worth what you pay for them and have a lifetime guarantee.
If you have to wear gloves, be sure you get something with good grip. A warm pair of gloves is useless if you can't hold anything. Since my shotgun is a pump I really need good grippy gloves to cycle a new round. I often just wear my mountain biking gloves from HandUp.
Since I hunt brushy and thorny areas, I wear brush pants. I have a fancy-ass pair from First Lite that are *extremely* comfortable, but they do not go over my mucks and are not good for very cold temperatures without a base layer or two. They are great for warm season hunting though. I recently got a pair of Duluth briar pants and they are my new favorite, but I cant find them on the website at the moment.
Brush pants are another very common item that you can get cheaply from other makers and are frequently on sale. You can also just use a thick pair of work pants, I hunted in double front carhartts for a couple years. Chaps are another option.
I use a Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge fixed modified pump action shotgun and steel #6 small game shot. (A lot of words, I know.) You can use many different firearms, and some states allow you to use air rifles too. A friend I hunt with is a big fan of his Benjamin Marauder. I've seen people use slingshots, archery, and even hawks. Check your regulations to see what is legal and pick something you are comfortable with.
I accumulated my gear over time and either inherited it, bought used, or on sale. I've been hunting for 10 years now, when I first started all I had was my hiking stuff, shotgun, and a blaze hat. Hunting is only complicated and expensive if you make it.
