hey so.. just spent the last 2ish hours binge reading the entirety of “heartbreak:offline”. so yeah. just thought i’d let you know. entire fic had me on the edge of my seat, couldn’t imagine reading it while you were still uploading. also this is the first time i have ever sent an ask not anonymously. it was that good. okay bye! ❤️

been mourning hb:l a little and about to re-read, buttt just before i do, i was wanted to ask how rafe came into contact with his mum and what it's like when her and reader meet, if they do. thank you again for this incredible series and looking forward to what you create this year. happy new year z, hope you continue to make many more incredible memories

right around his birthday when barry sent him the odsessy11 file! that was when he recognized an issue of his and reader's relationship was the financial stress caused by his dad, so he knew he wanted to contact his mother to get more information about how she handled it. there were little clues to that throughout the series—from an article about a dropout alumni appearing on campus to talk about family, from cleo mentioning that she's analyzing homer and their themes of reconnection, and rafe contacting the law firm which is odysseus' last name!—so yeah!

rafe would give his mom a bit of an explanation of his appearance, especially regarding his situation with reader, so when she meets reader for the first time, the first thing his mom does is hug her! especially knowing what she been through. originally, reader's parents were not gonna be supportive and this was gonna be the first time she has someone who treats her with respect regarding her pregnancy.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AAAA ik I'm a few days late (iv been down with a fever) BUT IM BACK anyways I genuinly can't believe it's already over like this has been such a fun story and I'm so happy with the ending bc Like HELLO THE MOTHER?!?! it's so cool hoe rafe doesn't have to do shit just bc his father won't help him when he's in need. And ik for a fact that when yn and the mother meet they'll be best friends bc they went trough the same thing just a slightly different outcome. i hope ur feeling better! first and foremost, thank you 🙂‍↕️ i can’t believe it’s over too, hb:l had consumed my life for two whole months nonstop and to see it now… done with… oh my god. i feel empty. on top of that, i always knew i wanted the mother to come back. she was left as a chekov’s gun when she was first mentioned because she wasn’t DEAD, she just LEFT. so the implications means she has to RETURN. also i love that rafe doesn’t have to fend for himself but still stood up to the main issue: ward. all in all, im so proud to know u loved it to the end. i was afraid people weren’t gonna like the ending. tysm for being a longstanding supporter, ily 🍓
