It was the golden hour and I just kinda stopped. for a sec.#and like. breathed and closed my eyes for a few minutes. is this what inner peace is? gosh.#so of course I had to draw the two men plaguing my mind currently doing the same lol#it's funny. I drew their emotions kinda ironic here by accident? i literally do not care about big emergencies on abc's 911. i want to see my characters talk to each other and have stories that are parallels to small, everyday (everyday for first responders) emergencies

I find the way that BBC Merlin set up Merlin's powers in the first episode to be quite funny. I mean, we see this sort of lanky guy and it is established that he is Merlin and (according to our own common knowledge) therefore he is the most powerful warlock ever. Okay, cool. One might assume that he has come to Gaius to develop his powers, that maybe he's only in the beginning of his magical journey. But instead the exposition shows Merlin, in the pilot episode of this 5 series show, stop time and employ levitation to save someone's life with magic, and then it is announced that prince Arthur is essentially his soulmate, and their joint power will create the most glorious age Camelot has ever seen. Quite an exciting set-up. And then for the rest of the entire show this man who we know possesses TIME-ALTERING POWERS mostly uses them on-screen to do common chores and annoy and prank THAT SAME Arthur. Like that one post said, "All of it's destiny and all of it's his fault." :p
#i also think something tragic comes out of this#he thought things would go as destiny said they would so he did not really try to contradict arthur at all#also poor morgana - but that's a whole other topic#perpetuating repressed queerphobia metaphor? never#he is set up as an almost-god almighty and loving and kind#and both merlin and us imagine this beautiful kingdom#but then even when arthur is king nothing really changes#and it's for many factors one of which is that nothing changes without a fight (queer metaphor? never)#and another is just the heartbreaking fact that merlin is too compassionate for radical action#merlin loves arthur in one way or another#but still his love doesn't compete with his kindness#so at least firstly he can't bring himself to sacrifice someone in the present for an abstract future arthur#a god cannot afford to be too kind#especially not when it comes to time#and even in the pilot his godly powers are attached to a kindness#an obvious one like saving a life#but still a kindness that perhaps not everyone would have employed#bbc merlin#merthur#i'm sorry merlin - you deserved more

#wind breaker#shuhei suzuri#my precious adorable baby#i swear i could write a thesis about him#(if i were good at writing and not suffering with my real thesis)#i had a shitty week last week so#he is my way of coping#he's one of the best characters in wb imo#i love how nii-sensei was able to capture suzuri's context and how it impacted his behavior#i feel that he tried to talk about this issue (which really happens in reality) from an informed point of view#as if trying to explain rather than justify (this is a big difference)#he framed suzuri not as good (it was all a result of his context) or bad (it was only his decisions)#but as human (a complex interaction of context and individual aspects of oneself)#and even considered the difference in the experiences#(i especially find it beautiful when tsubaki apologizes to suzuri for speaking without knowing hid conditions)#god i love tsubaki's fight against suzuri so much (i think I could say it's my favorite)#sorry for my rambling#i don't even know if it makes sense

#arya stark#asoiaf#a character centered around family and /pack/ who spent the entire story wanting to return home to/with her family isn't#going to end up with a family of her own (outside of siblings) because she doesn't want to be a trad-wife...okay#she was 9 years old on the run and worrying about how to fix Weasel's hair can we bffr for two seconds#Weasel latching onto Arya's leg...Arya using her name as an alias in Harrenhal...that's literally mother and daughter#impact so great she has her future love interest taking care of kids in her memory when he initially wanted to leave weasel#which is funny because people always want to project onto Gendry as the /family man/ type who has to convince Arya when it's the opposite#Arya is going to have a romance and family as a non-conforming woman on her own terms and I think that's beautiful#the unfeeling detached persona y'all try to project onto her is never going to stick she literally thrives off of community#it's very obvious when you speak on a character without having read their chapters btw

Some of Tee and Ja'Marr's thoughts on the Tee Situation
Tee said to me 'right now I get to play with one of the, if not the, best quarterbacks in the game, I get to play with one of, if not the, best wide receivers in the game, that opens up so much more for me.' And then he said 'this offense is designed for so many different players to be spotlighted, the way that I am used in this offense so plays to my strengths.' And then he said to me, 'can you guarantee I can have that exact situation anywhere else?'

So do I think he's taking a home discount? No. But I do think that he is very very smart, he sees the whole picture out there...

It's very easy to compare this situation to what Ja'Marr had at LSU with Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson. And Ja'Marr has said Tee is very different than Justin Jefferson. That every single minute with Justin Jefferson was a competition. That everything was who makes the more dynamic catch, who has more catches in practice, who runs faster? Everything was that way. Ja'Marr had to speak up and demand the ball a lot at LSU, because so was Justin. Ja'Marr told me that he doesn't have to do that in Cincinnati because Tee, and this is a quote from Ja'Marr, is one of the most unselfish humans you'll ever meet.

Thinking about how Kaz was so possessive and obsessive over Fifth Harbour because that's the place where he crawled out of the sea no longer as Kaz Rietveld, but as Kaz Brekker, and how that place was his start of darkness and the beginning of his hunt for revenge. But then he gifted Inej a ship there. He told her that her berth would also be free for when, if, she decided to come back, because she is under no obligation to. That's where he gave Inej her parents back. He made his place of start of darkness, to the place of his start back to light, and healing.
Thinking about how Kaz always fixates on the smallest details, and no matter how symbolic it is in an analysis, it's more symbolic to him as a person in the story.

i think part of my problem is i lived with my best friend for two years of my life and have been searching for the same feeling of joy & acceptance & support ever since
#like I’ve sat down and had a think about it and the times I’ve felt the least lonely in the last 5+ years are when my roommates were close#friends I could pray with/laugh with/cry with/unmask with#something something you can’t keep trying to go back somewhere that doesn’t exist anymore you need to go forward#but the only way I can see myself thriving is if I can live with people/someone who feel(s) like home#and I know that can come with time and you meet new people and make new friends and settle down somewhere and slowly build yourself a life#but how do you do that without dying along the way#and I’m here in this new state and I’m trying to be content but there’s the very real possibility everything is going to change *again*#later this year and I just. I’m done I want it all to be over I want to get to find someone and commit my life to them and get to know we’r#we’re gonna figure it out together#and bitterness is so tempting right now bc unless God heals & transforms & really really surprises me#(all of which He CAN do but I just have never thought that was His desire for me); unless that happens I will probably be alone for the#rest of my life#and I can write essays on the importance of platonic friendships and how good and beautiful it is to value them but that grows weaker and#weaker the older you get the more all your friends seek marriage and find their other halves and you’re still. just. in poto (1990), whenever erik brings out the GORGEOUS white (wedding) dress for christine to wear for her debut...do you think he helped her put it on? women back then typically had a lady's maid to help them get dressed in such gowns becuase of the intricate details and the corset backs, etc.
