Extreeeeeeeeeeeeeemely small detail on the Big Interdimensional Three-Headed Dragon Time Creature Reveal page, but I find it delightful that Castle Heterodyne - fully repaired, self-repairing, showing off, back to fighting strength -
still has a waterfall.
Tumblr media
Because I did not think that this:
Tumblr media
was part of the Castle's intended/preferred design. Not originally, anyway.
...actually, I was pretty sure that it was not supposed to be gushing water.
Headcanon: Castle Heterodyne has decided that it just has a water feature now.
I envision a future in which Agatha decides to fix the Actually Massive Water Main Break That Isn't Supposed to Be There, and the Castle throws a tantrum because she's trying to take away its waterfall. ("But...but...we can throw your enemies to their deaths over it most gloriously, Mistress!") I'm sure they can compromise on some efficient and well-plumbed water gardens that will be fun to build and only death traps if the tourists are really intrusive. The signs were right there, after all.
Castle Heterodyne: Now With Waterfall
Doubtless The Castle's Waterfall will be a new stop on the walking tours as soon as that time dragon problem is taken care of. Possibly a little bit before.

...all right, I can see this happening, and that would be a twist, and I love it.
I want this man back off the board as soon as possible, and that would about do it.
given that 1: You could set your clock by how often Othar falls out of this airship 2: We've already seen Othar fight with one person (jäger) all the way to the ground 3: There's a giant monster fight going on outside 4: The Foglios love slapstick & reversals within fight scenes 5: He's the only one there that we *know* is vulnerable to Lucrezia It would be hilarious if Othar thinks to collar the Baron as he's getting thrown off the airship, à la Richenbach falls. That way they can bicker & grapple for a bit before bouncing off a limb of the giant monster and joining that thread of the story. Not immediately, he's got to continue to Be A Problem up in the air for a few minutes. Just soon enough that when Lucrezia pops out of that jar she'll find a totally different set of people than she expects.

GUYS
Idk if someone else has thought of this before, but hear me out on this new worldbuilding headcanon for Minecraft. Phantoms pose the same ecological role as IRL vultures. That being, they eat dead bodies. The reason a lot of them swarm (and even attack) the player when they haven't gotten sleep is because they sense lack of energy (which, for a lot of animals means death is nearby) and assume the player is either dead or dying.

I've been wanting to redesign Sandwings since I watched Dune part two, that movie got me obsessed with Sandwings and I decided to draw them for a school project.
anatomy- sandwings are quite short compared to other tribes. they have flat bodies covered in spikes similar to thorny devils. they have large barbed tails, the stinger is strong enough to break through bone. Sandwings wings have large feather like structures that can join and separate at will, once separated they will create a rattling sound, sandwings will often rattle their wings as a sign of anger or fear.
unlike other tribes sandwings have partial hairs on their bodies. these are most notable in hatchlings who are covered head to tail in dark micro hairs which are used to protect parasites from digging under their scales. they also have whiskers which can detect changes in weather.

Mildly deranged and inevitably doomed headcanon:
Princess Terebithia is not actually the root cause of the situation in Paris right now.
It's actually all the Parisian advertisers and merchants collectively inventing an ACTIVE CRISIS as a distraction, so they can flee the massive and vengeful copyright suit Van has been unleashing on them for their unauthorized use of Agatha's image and reputation while the main story was in England.
The merchant lawyers of Mechanicsburg are MEAN. They used to be bandits, raiders, and con artists and they still are, actually.
(Terebithia's probably still taking advantage of it, though.)

It sounds like power changes hands in Skifander quite a lot, actually, so Klaus has no way of knowing if Zantabraxus is still in charge there. Given what Europa's like, which Klaus has been dealing with for a couple of decades now, it's perfectly plausible that some new Queen would be sending assassins after the loose ends of Zantabraxus' family. Klaus doesn't, and can't, know.
...at least, not without talking to Zeetha instead of jumping to conclusions, which he didn't get time to do.
...
Can we just strap Klaus to a really big chair and take turns yelling at him until everyone's on the same page? Please? He can even yell back if he wants.
So, this whole time, I (and many others, I think) have been under the impression that Klaus stole Gil to keep him safe from Skifander and Zantabraxus. That Zantabraxus was complicit in the attempt on Gil's life.
But now I wonder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gil on the left looks closer to a newborn, but we can't see much of him and let's be real--Klaus is a very large guy, I think any baby is going to look incredibly small in his hands. Gil on the right is not a newborn; at the very least, he's capable of holding his head up unassisted and eat solid foods (lollipop from Father for being an agreeable young lad during the apocalypse).
It is not possible to keep a newborn alive without access to breastmilk or formula. And while I don't doubt Klaus could Spark his way to inventing formula, I wonder...
I haven't seen my wife in years.
Personally, if my wife tried to kill my son, the son I would burn the world down to keep safe, I wouldn't miss her all that much. At the very least, I wouldn't be sad about not seeing her.
But if my wife had defied the taboo of her culture and tried to protect her son, had helped me keep him alive until he was old enough to survive without her so I could take him away...yeah. I'd be sad about being separated.
I wonder if Zantabraxus wasn't as determined as Klaus to keep her son alive.

✍️Tommy Kinard: Speculating His Rank in the LAFD (Canon + Structural Analysis) 📊📋🧵
Tumblr media
📍TL;DR: Based on canon clues and real-world LAFD structure, Tommy Kinard is most likely a 🎖️Fire Helicopter Pilot V—the highest pilot classification. His career path is unusual: he started in suppression at the 118 before transitioning into Air Ops using his Army flight experience.
-----------------At your own risk- Lets Spiral-----------------------------
While the show hasn’t explicitly stated his rank, there are enough visual, behavioral, and contextual clues/crumbs to build a solid case for where he fits within the LAFD—especially given the real-world structure of Air Operations.
Similar to Tommy’s military-to-LAFD career timeline, this is meant to be both canon-compliant and grounded in how the real LAFD operates, in order to build a plausible theory around Tommy’s role, rank, and seniority. It’s part character study, part structural breakdown.
🔍 Canon Facts/Clues (What We Know)
Tommy is introduced in S2 as a ground firefighter at the 118, and reintroduced in S7 as a helicopter pilot at Harbour Station.
In 7x04, he tells Buck that he used to be a pilot in the Army.
He has over 20 years of service in the LAFD (stated on-screen based of begins episodes).
He has taken helicopters out without formal clearance (7x03, 8x15). While reprimanded afterward, the fact that he has the access and autonomy to do so is notable.
He is seen launching without escort, clearly trusted to operate independently and justify his decisions after the fact.
He casually offers to teach Buck how to fly (7x04), suggesting he holds—or is qualified for—a trainer or flight instructor designation.
In 7x06, Tommy arrives at the hospital in turnout gear, soot-covered, after a fire at Angeles Crest. Raising questions about whether he was working suppression or Air Ops.
In 8x15, Tommy performs evasive maneuvers while being pursued by military helicopters—diving low, climbing high, and weaving between towers—as part of an aerial diversion to buy time and deflect pursuit.
In 7x03, Tommy helps Hen bypass red tape by taking a helicopter without official approval, offering only a vague line about Central Bureau and brushing off objections from Melton.
🚁 How Most LAFD Pilots Get There
In real life, becoming a helicopter pilot in the LAFD follows a specific and highly competitive path:
Most candidates begin with military flight experience or are already civilian-rated pilots (e.g., with commercial or instructor licenses).
However, even military pilots must first complete four years of full-time suppression duty within LAFD before becoming eligible for Air Ops roles—there are no direct-entry exceptions.
That said, their military flight hours and FAA qualifications do count toward pilot certification requirements, making them strong candidates once they transition.
They are hired into pilot trainee roles (Fire Helicopter Pilot I or II) and must pass rigorous evaluations.
Air Operations is a separate track—pilots do not typically come from suppression (ground firefighting) units.
As a result, most LAFD pilots have never served on engines or trucks.
Pilots usually work 12-hour shifts (day or night), typically on a 4-on, 4-off schedule, and remain on-call at the airport rather than responding on the ground.
🧩 Real-World LAFD Air Operations Structure
LAFD helicopter pilots are classified under the following civil service ranks:
Fire Helicopter Pilot I or II - Pilot Trainee Roles
Fire Helicopter Pilot III – Entry-level pilot
Fire Helicopter Pilot IV – Senior operational pilot
Fire Helicopter Pilot V – Training/lead pilot (sometimes informally called “chief pilot”)
These ranks are lateral to suppression-side ranks like Firefighter, Engineer, or Captain. While pilots typically don’t carry the "Captain" title unless cross-trained—but senior pilots often operate with comparable authority within their unit.
🧭 Why Tommy’s Path Is Unusual
Tommy’s trajectory breaks the mold in several important ways:
He began his LAFD career in suppression, working as a firefighter at the 118.
Only later did he transition to Air Ops, requalifying based on his Army flight experience.
This kind of cross-track shift is rare—most suppression-side firefighters never move into aviation roles, especially after years on the ground.
🔄 Update (Post-Publication): As clarified by a kind commenter, all LAFD helicopter pilots must begin in suppression roles. So Tommy’s path actually aligns with departmental requirements.
What still makes him stand out, though, is how long he remained in suppression—over a decade—before switching tracks. That kind of deep dual experience is rare.
He’s probably one of the few who might have earned credibility in both areas: the fireground and the flight deck.
This dual-track background probably makes him a unique versatile asset with extensive experience to the department.
🧵 What That Tells Us About Tommy
Tommy’s military aviation experience likely included high-risk flying, tactical decision-making, and possibly training roles—skills that directly translate to LAFD Air Ops.
He entered the LAFD through standard firefighter routes—like all Air Ops pilots must—but instead of transitioning to aviation early, he stayed in suppression for over a decade before requalifying as a pilot. (But why?! 💭🤔)
That makes his path both rare and earned.
His ability to take out helicopters independently, despite the fallout, signals a level of seniority and operational trust only afforded to top-tier personnel.
His offer to teach suggests a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) license or LAFD-equivalent designation, reinforcing that he may also serve in a training or mentoring role.
Tommy might still be dual-certified (implied by full turnout gear after the Angeles Crest response. (Or the show forgot he’s a pilot?!)🫨🤐)
His evasive flying during the diversion mission —dodging military helicopters —points to tactical or combat-style flight training. Possibly special ops. (So sexy.😘)
He’s senior enough and holds enough field authority or just bold enough to fake it to casually override protocol with a “You didn’t get the call?” deflection.
🧠💥 Conclusion: Most Likely Rank 🎖️
Tommy Kinard is almost certainly a Fire Helicopter Pilot V, or at the very least, a senior Pilot IV on the cusp of promotion. He’s not formally titled “Chief Pilot,” but functionally operates as one—with over two decades in LAFD, firsthand suppression experience, and the kind of authority and autonomy that reflects a deeply trusted position and seniority to push limits.
He may not wear Captain’s bars, but between his dual-track career, leadership instincts, and ability to push protocol when it counts, he clearly stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the station’s most senior personnel. 💬 If I missed something or misread a clue, feel free to correct me (kindly)—or share your own version. Always open to digging deeper. After all… the writers clearly aren't worried about consistency. 😌
📎PS: 🤷‍♂️ All of this is, of course, pure speculation—built off canon clues/crumbs, real-world LAFD structure, and my completely healthy, not-at-all obsessive need to spiral over every background detail the show refuses to explain. I know 9-1-1 isn’t always that deep (and sometimes barely tries). Don’t worry, I’m seeking a therapist. 🙃👩‍⚕️ learning to chill.😎🪭
if you read till the end 🫡 & don't ask why we needed to know all this!
✨ Update: Added more canon evidence from 8x15 and 7x03 that reinforce Tommy’s seniority + elite training 👀🚁 (That somehow got lost in my Excel-to-Tumblr exchange. Damn. I need to stop. I’m putting myself in a time-out. Bye.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS 2: Okay, so I did mess that up🤣—turns out all LAFD pilots need to start in suppression for 4 years, and someone kindly pointed that out (thank you!! 🙏). Just to clarify, this post isn’t absolute fact—I don’t have a firefighting background, just sharing what I could find. Also, I am not from USA. please take all of this with a grain of salt. this is just a fun exercise. I've now learned even more about fire department structures than I ever planned to.
Seriously guys, stop enabling me 😭 I should be updating my resume, not drafting municipal org charts for fictional men.

Currently thinking about the way the BatFamily is perceived by the tabloids. Like yeah, the Wayne family, it’s one of the richest families in America, but they keep to themselves mostly, no one really knows any intimate details about them, they’re more locally famous than anything. Then Thomas and Martha come along, and they’re regarded as kind-hearted, good natured people by most, heavily involved with charity work, so when they die so suddenly, it makes national news. A massive family fortune and the rights to a major corporation have been left in the hands of an eight-year-old? But thanks to people like Alfred, the press isn’t able to get close to Bruce all that much, and the story mostly dies after that… until Bruce goes off to college and gets into his first series of scandals, and everyone’s thinking, “oh no, the good parents died and we’re left with their idiot son who’ll probably squander the family fortune and make a mess of the company.” Then he straight up disappears??? Most common theory is that the Wayne Estate forced him to lay low for a while to keep him from ruining the family image any further, or he’s in rehab, or something to that effect. Then when he comes back a few years later, it’s more of the same wild-child act. Eccentric man being eccentric. The tabloids eat it up.
Dick Grayson, I feel, wouldn’t get as much media attention as others in this list overall. The initial adoption case gets printed everywhere, naturally—“Play-Boy Bruce Wayne Looking to Adopt?” Nobody likes the look of it, but Bruce swears he has no ill intentions and will do everything in his power to care for the boy, and he makes good on that promise, so… after the initial shock wears off, the tabloids wind up with not a lot to work with. Dick is protected by people like Bruce and Alfred, he generally doesn’t do anything in public that might count as a scandal, and when he’s flown the coup, he goes on to do charity work mostly. All good stuff, but as far as the gossip columnists are concerned, he’s not worth their time.
Jason is an interesting case, because when his adoption was pending, I imagine everyone sat up and said, “wait, didn’t we already do this?” There are a few raised eyebrows at Bruce adopting *another* orphan, but hey, maybe the guy got lonely after Dick moved away? It’s certainly grounds for a potentially interesting story, but once again, the paparazzi are foiled in their attempts to dig up some juicy dirt. Just a fight at Gotham Academy, maybe, and a rumour or two about Bruce developing a strange new coping mechanism, and not much else. When Jason dies, it’s sad, but most people don’t really care. Either they got confused and thought, “wait, there was a second adopted son of Bruce Wayne?” or they went, “I knew something bad would come of that Bruce Wayne’s odd behaviour.” Either way, they didn’t have a lot of time to get to know Jason, so his death passes and then people forget.
After that, Timothy Drake, son of another famous wealthy person in Gotham, loses his parents and gets adopted by Bruce. Now this one spreads by word of mouth among the socialites before the tabloids get their hands on it, and it generally sounds like this, “The Waynes and the Drakes were very close, it’s no wonder—with Bruce’s history and his connection to them—that he would open his home to Timothy.” Things don’t really start picking up until Bruce starts considering him for Wayne Enterprises and bringing him to meetings and showing him the ropes. That’s when the cameras come out and everyone’s suddenly very interested in this young man. Will he inherit the fortune? The company? He’s young, he’s handsome, he could be getting the keys to the Wayne kingdom, it’s all very exciting.
Then Damian comes along and it’s at that exact moment that the Secret Love Child rumours go flying. Like, Bruce is up to four kids who all came out of nowhere as far as the general public is concerned, and they all kinda look like him. It does make sense—everyone knows he was a play boy back in the day—the ages of the kids make perfect sense too—so the next few news cycles are just everyone trying to guess who the “mothers” are. (Damian also makes a name for himself by not being able to hold his tongue in front of the press and generally being a little scandal generator, namely the first time he broke a reporter’s hand… yeah…)
Then Jason comes back, and he’s going straight to the reporters, looking into the cameras, and saying, “the details of my death were greatly exaggerated” just to annoy to Bruce, and now there’s even more confusion and speculation. “Wait, who’s Jason?” “Jason was alive this whole time?” “They pretended Jason was dead?!” “What is going on at Wayne Manor???”
Cass arriving was what compounded the newest popular theory: Wayne Manor was hiding a cult. They don’t know what kind; they don’t know what’s going on inside of there; they don’t know why Bruce is obsessed with adopting all these kids, but it’s definitely some kind of cult. Several investigations of the estate have been made and Bruce has made several statements assuring the people that there is no cult. (But no one believes him or the reports.)
Duke just made it worse. Suddenly, people are becoming afraid to leave their kids alone near Wayne Enterprises and every time Bruce does anything, everyone’s expecting him to suddenly debut another adopted child.
Now, over time, there will be lots and lots of theories thrown around about the family, but the mainstream media will likely forget the cult speculation after a while, if things appear to be relatively normal and there’s no drama about the Waynes they can stir up. However, they still keep tabs on all the members. They don’t know if, where, or when something’s gonna happen, but something’s gotta happen sooner or later. It’s just a matter of time.
Any other fun tidbits you would add? Anything I missed?

If the Justice League were ‘The Office’...
Superman: I want to trust Batman, I really do, but sometimes I can't help but question him, you know? Yesterday, I came home from the Daily Planet and ran into Batman outside my apartment. When I asked him what he was doing there, he claimed he was on a case looking for "evidence," then ran off. Not that I’m accusing him of anything, but… one of my undergarments has gone missing.
The camera pans out, revealing his costume conspicuously missing its iconic red underwear.
***
Batman: [holding up Superman’s red underwear sealed in a plastic evidence bag] That’s how I uncovered his big secret. How do I know for certain it’s Superman’s? Well, for one, no one else on the planet has them in this size. [glares directly at the camera] And two, you really should have kept spares if you didn’t want me to figure out who you were, Clark Kent.

Humans and Rainwings are both optionally omnivorous frugivores. It would make sense if they had evolved similar teeth, minus the venomous fangs, of course. Also it's hideous and I love it.
