When thou ringeth the Bell of Awakening, the fate of the Undead thou shalt know... Well, now you know... And I can die with hope in my heart... Oh, one more thing... Here, take this... An Estus Flask, an Undead favourite...

Canon implies that Ford's an alcoholic as early as his research days in Gravity Falls, what with all the bottles and glasses in his room meant to contain and pour alcohol. And he's got that flask post return that's implied to contain hard alcohol. But we don't know how severe his substance abuse is.
For Martian Stan AU? Ford, who's isolating himself while trial-and-erroring into taking better care of himself while rebuilding the portal to save Stanley, because otherwise Stanley will be lost longer. Ford who's still reeling from Bill's torture. This could get bad during that year or after the reunion, if it isn't already a disorder.
I do in fact personally subscribe to the ‘alcohol problems if not outright alcoholic for a period of his life’ Stanford Pines headcanon, for the reasons you shared, and! Also because Stan also has a history of substance abuse so it wouldn’t be a stretch to believe that it was something the two of them saw in their parents (namely their mother, I’d think. I could see her having too much to drink at times) (all three of them, Fiddleford, Stan, and Ford all struggling with substance abuse in different ways could be a fun dynamic to explore and parallels to make narratively)
I’m honestly not sure how I would fit this into this specific au, though, except it could definitely be used as a parallel for Fiddlefords own recovery. Hmmmmmmm. Aw man, now the gears are whirring. I’ll have to keep thinking on that

Hi, hello, sorry quick question.
Why the fuck can Morgott the omen king randomly jump you at any point in a nightreign playthrough, completely ruining a perfectly good run?
It's not enough that fighting him is a massive timesink in a game that I think already doesn't give you enough time to do everything you need to do, but he also just has to give you a massive debuff if you die to him that basically ends the run then and there.
It's bad enough in co-op where only one person gets effected by the debuff, but you might as well just reset the entire run if you're playing solo and he gets you.
Just what I need in an already heavily RNG reliant game. The possibility that one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring will descend from the heavens and strike me down with no warning when I'm busy with something else and have almost no flasks left. And to top it all off, he increases your damage taken for the rest of the run when you die to him.

Materials: a selection of healing items! because what kind of item shop would this be without some of those?
we've got your standard healing potions (in all sizes and strengths), estus flasks, chug jugs, stimpaks, enchanted golden apples, medkits, high quality blood from Yharnam, and a nice variety of herbs. Be healed!

possibly controversial opinion but now that I have observed elden ring being played for longer at a time I can definitively say that although it is a very pretty game with a very nicely designed world, it is still not as good as dragon quest viii journey of the cursed king

Date Everything! demo update
Day zero went off without a hitch. WASD works now, no clue why it didn’t earlier. Laptop also wasn’t trying to die during the walks around the house (then again it’s a lot cooler today)

interestingly. i dont see a lot of talk ab marika's reign-imposed fear of/disdain for death and obsession with perpetual life/healing and how that manifests gameplay wise. how many of the erdtree incantations are healing and defense spells?? golden vow, blessing's boon, blessing of the erdtree, erdtree heal, barrier of gold, heal from afar, minor erdtree... and im pretty sure im forgetting some.
most of the attack spells r associated with either the crucible (all the aspects) or the realm of shadow (land of shadow, wrath from afar). wrath of gold, black blade, and elden stars r the only ones that break from this pattern i think, and black blade was only meant to be wielded by one specific person. wait even wrath of gold has a defensive "get the fuck away from me" knockback effect. hrm. I Like This.

(And finally the incantations section. Heavily taken from the servants of rot incants in the ER convergence mod, which I recommend playing if you can)
