Shifting tips plz?

hey hon!! i’m going to be honest, i’ve been avoiding answering this because i feel like this is a three part thing. before shifting, during shifting, and after an attempt. so im gonna try to answer it like that.

!! long blog ahead !!

pre-shift

• before a shift, it’s good to meditate. get your mind, soul and intention on one thing, making an attempt.

• set an intention/affirm! for a few minutes, just say “i am going to shift.” “i have shifted.” “i will shift this attempt.” “i always succeed when i shift” or things like that. get it deep into your mind, into your bones! let the universe hear it!!

• do something to tire you out PHYSICALLY! this is some advice i haven’t seen before, but has helped me. if your physical body is tired, it’s easier for it to fall asleep so it can recover. but, after exercising, your mind and subconscious wasn’t doing much, so it still has energy to spare!

• hype yourself up! another thing i don’t see much, making yourself excited to shift. if you’re pumped with adrenaline, and then you’re about to do that action to get where you’re going (example, you got ready for a party and you’re getting ready to go in your car) you’re going to be like going CRAZY mentally and this will help u so much!!

• reflect! yeah, this is similar to affirming, in the way you’re reminding yourself of what you did and what you can do. remind yourself of that he attempts you made in the past, the symptoms you got, the times you temporarily shifted (or minishifted if u call it that) remind yourself of your power, your abilities!!

• read your script to where you’re shifting! if you have a script, of course, i know some people mentally script or don’t script much, but look over it if you have one. change little things, remind yourself what you look, the colour of your eyelashes compared to your eyebrows. random things like that.

• visualize it. “thoughts become things. if you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand” — bob proctor. this isn’t limiting yourself to visualizing, hell, you can SAY you’re doing it. like i sometimes tell myself “i’m going to shower” or “i’m going to make a blog today” then i do it. i saw it in my mind, i spoke it, now i hold it in my hand. and there’s proof! witnesses, bro! sometimes, all you gotta do is think it and believe those thoughts are real.

during a shift

keep focus! or as my pastor once said, keep watch! watch your thoughts, watch your mind. if it starts drifting away from the method and you start thinking you want a sandwich ( *cough cough* me and @shiftingwithhale *cough cough* ) then refocus and redirect your thoughts. “i accept this thought, i will now move back to shifting.” then focus on shifting again. your mind WILL wonder, and that’s not a bad thing! you are human as much as you are god! you will make mistakes! but that doesn’t mean you keep making those mistakes. yall, i accidently stole once and i CRIED MY FUCKING EYES OUTTT!! before returning it. i was so upset i accidentally stole, and i went back in that store CRYING when I gave it back.( i was like 4 btw. i was so scared, it was cold n i wanted to ask my mom for smth but i forgot when i was holding her hand 💀)

listen to a sub/theta waves/a guided method! just something! it helps the brain focus and calms the crazy side. this is obvs if u have the ability to. for example, i know someone who can’t have their phone after a certain time + their parents make sure to take it before and check on them. they aren’t into shifting, it just makes it extremely difficult to talk to them after a certain time 🙄🙄 if u can’t do this, dw!! listen to a sub before going to bed/while doing hw :)

when intrusive/negative thoughts come — “why am i doing this?” “this is stupid.” “i what if i mess this all up bc i gotta sneeze” WHO TF CARES!! LITERALLY MOVE. TELL THEM TO SHUT UP. TELL THEM U WRE BETTER! OR EVEN TAKE A BREAK BRO! the break can literally b a few minutes js to regroup. sit up so you won’t fall asleep, open your eyes, count your fingers and toes (LMAO?? this is specific to someone) and tell yourself “i can do this because i’ve done it. plus other people have done it, all over the world! if one can achieve, so can another.” i feel like it’s so powerful just to remind yourself that if other people can do it you can. if you wanted some new shoes but js got fired from your job n you don’t know what to do, then just wait for a moment. talk to ppl you know. get it done somehow, because eventually you’ll get those shoes, if not better ones!

just do it bro 💀💀 like actually. if you fall asleep after counting to 17 WHO CARES! an awake method can b an asleep method. your brain shutting off does not equal your subconscious shutting down. dude, it CANT DO THAT!! it’s always working, and it works better when your body is resting. keep that in mind.

after an attempt

CELEBRATE i don’t give a shit if you fully shifted or not. you did something. you committed to it. sure, i know it’s hard to keep high spirits, but celebrate the little things. isn’t thanksgiving coming up? be thankful that u found out abt shifting. be thankful you can do an asleep method n shift that way. don’t b mad u didn’t wake up in ur dr, be happy you woke up in a parallel reality and you’re even closer!

write down what worked and what didn’t! if something in your method frustrates or confuses you, change it or remove it. if you visualize in the middle of the method, and you don’t like it, drop it 🤷 do what helps YOU PERSONALLY! use this as a form of journaling. and also, take a deep breath and write out your frustrations w shifting. then write what you love about it. always balance the negative w positive <3

do a reality check! make sure you’re not in a dream. weather you shifted where u want to or not, it’s always good to get in the habit of doing reality checks. it may surprise u and allow u to lucid dream and then shift!!

be in the present! if you didn’t shift, fuck that! you’re here right now and that’s what you can control! sure, you didn’t shift in the PAST but you can in the PRESENT and the FUTURE! so focus on that. it helps with your hope and motivation <3

Every step Hero took felt followed. Every movement felt unmissed. The street was dimly lit, it probably wasn't the smartest to be walking here at three in the morning… 

The snap of a stick caught their attention, bringing their steps to a halt. They looked behind them, jumping as a dark figure emerged from behind them.

“Who is it?” Hero gritted out. They were tired, all they wanted to do was get home and put their feet up. But alas, they had no other choice but get rid of the lingering threat. The shadowed figure just stopped, the black masked face staring blankly back at them. Hero huffed out an impatient breath, muttering, “Creep,” as they continued to walk on.

In an instant, Hero was grabbed from behind and a hand shoved a cloth over their face. Hero cried out, trying to fight against the grip but it was useless. They heaved in breaths which only made them inhale the chemicals more.

“Relax, little hero, just take some nice deep breaths for me and relax.”

Hero’s blood went cold, their stomach lurching; Villain.

Their vision filled with blank dots but Hero tried with all their energy to fight against Villain. But it was no use. The chemicals filled their senses and their vision went to black.

It felt like it had only been a second before their eyes snapped open. They looked around them, eyes wide. The room was dark, their arms were tied tightly to each arm of the chair. Their ankles tied to each leg of their chair. Fuckfuckfuckfuck.

“Well, well, well, good morning sleeping beauty,” Villain smirked, tucking a lock of hair behind Hero’s ear. Hero flinched back, face filled with disgust, “Don't touch me,” The growled. Villain scoffed with a smirk, “Oh trust me, I’m not enjoying this anymore than you are.”

Hero scoffed, “Bullshit.”

“Oh shut it!” Villain yelled, their hands clenched into fists as they roared, “Ever since I laid eyes on you I have fucking hated you. You're- you're like some annoying fly who’s buzzing around and I can't seem to get rid of you!”

Hero blinked, taken back at how defensive Villain was getting, “Alright, jeez, chill out, dude.” Villain blinked quickly, feeling their face grow pink and they turned away quickly, pretending to busy themself.

Hero yawned, trying to lift their arm against their restraint before sighing, “So…what do I owe the pleasure of being kidnapped?”

Villain gulped, absentmindedly sharpening their knife as they sat on a stool, their back facing Hero, “SuperVillain wanted to talk to you,” They mumbled. 

Hero nodded, their tongue running along the bottom of their teeth. The silence filled the room once more.

“So-....so you’re not gonna be my entertainment while we wait, or-”

“Oh just shut.up!!!” Villain roared, quickly getting to their feet and pacing towards Hero, knife in hand. “Jesus fuck, Villain, what the hell is going on with you today?!?” 

“I-...you-... w-” Villain took a shaky breath, looking up at the ceiling as they blinked hard, “Who were you fighting with two nights ago?” Their voice was low this time, quiet. They almost sounded… vulnerable.

Hero blinked, “Two… Oh- you mean [Other Villain]?” Villain gulped and nodded once before looking away.

Hero couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh, “Villain… you're hardly jealous-....are you?”

Villain rolled their jaw, looking down to their knife before twirling it in their hand, “I…I thought we had a deal…” Hero couldn't help but feel slightly guilty. There was something about Villain suddenly, they looked like all sad and vulnerable. It was a side of Villain that Hero had never seen. Their eyes glazed over, brimming with tears as they clenched their jaw tight.

“I’m.. I’m sorry Villain…I didn’t mean to make you feel like this. The other- they… they came out of nowhere and I didn't have Sidekick to help me. So I had no other choice but to fight them!” Villain just stared at Hero for a moment before nodding once. 

They got down to one knee, bringing the blade to Hero’s ankle, making the other flinch. But in a moment, the rope fell away. Villain continued this until all the restraints were gone before taking a step back, “You uhm…I think you should go now…”

Their voice was quiet, probably the lump in their throat restricting most of the volume. They looked away as a tear slowly ran down their cheek. Hero gulped before getting to their feet. They cupped Villain’s face, thumb brushing the other’s tear away, “How can I make it up to you.”

Villain forced themself not to flinch back, Hero suddenly feeling so close to them. They took a shaky breath. All along they have wanted this, dreamt of it. And now it was happening. Villain’s cheeks were red and they took a slow breath before their eyes slowly met Hero’s;

“Kiss me…”

okay so after seeing all of the first three episodes again last night with friends and falling even more in love with the cast than before, i finally got around to episode 4 today. some thoughts:

i can't gush enough about the set design, it's all absolutely gorgeous. i was completely in love with the little clearing where young zoro and kuina have their match, just seeing the sunlight filtering through the trees...it really gives off that kind of nostalgic, romantic feeling that you get when you think back to a simpler time in your life. and of course, kaya's mansion is gorgeous! it doesn't look like yet another generic rich person mansion. it has character! i loved all the wall art in their dining room, i like the orderly yet cozy cluttered feeling of the kitchen, i love how it all feels lived in, like it has a history

talking more about the technical aspects, i love the costume design too! i like the slightly too clean look of the marine uniforms - it brings notice to the fact that these are new cadets who don't have much fighting history. i like that both nami and sham get to wear practical clothes! no stupid high heels for nami! no short shorts!

i didn't mention this last time, but i LOVE jacob's version of usopp. it's crazy that they managed to find a guy who can do usopp's over the top facial expressions in real life. they really lucked out with this entire main cast, i can't imagine literally anyone else playing our beloved straw hats. i hope we can see at least one more season, and i hope i adore robin and chopper just as much as i love these the east blue crew

as sad as it is, i'm glad that it seems like merry really is dead. i like this more brutal direction for the live action, because it feels like there are actual consequences for them, and i like that you can't take for granted that just because someone survived in the manga/anime, it means they'll survive in the live action too

the child actors are a little stiff, but i think they're really doing a good job given how young they are! young zoro's actor was definitely doing a better job that kojiro's. he sold his grief over kuina's death very well

speaking of koshiro, i still fuckin hate that dude. he did kuina so dirty with his sexism, convincing her she had no future as a swordswoman, making her believe that she could never stand up to men.

i think having koby and helmeppo show up at kaya's mansion and inevitably get duped by kuro was a good choice. it lets koby get a little more experience in a leadership position, and more than that, it helps establish usopp's distrust of the marines. from the beginning he was always interested in the romantic view he had of pirates because of his dad, but seeing that the marines failed him, even after they said they would help him, and that they didn't believe him no matter how much he begged them to, it helps establish a reason for him to go along with the pirates when they invite him to. the marines didn't do shit to protect kaya, but luffy and his friends did everything they could. they loved kaya, maybe not as much as usopp, but they wanted her to be safe.

side note, it's kind of hilarious to think about helmeppo trying to kill luffy, and then going back to the ship and finding out that he's garp's grandson 💀💀

when we are! started playing in the background as the going merry set sail for the first time with her crew...i cried, i'm not ashamed to admit it. gosh, i missed her, and i miss the first opening. it's so nice to see her get to go on more adventures with her crew in this new medium! i know some people were unhappy with her figurehead, but i just adore it, it suits her crew well

luffy's little shit-eating grin when kaya just gives them merry for free, and nami being just SO exasperated because he's gonna be so insufferable now, it made me laugh so hard! i love these idiots

when usopp and luffy were arguing about which one of them was captain, and nami just burst out laughing? and then zoro started chuckling too? that was so healing! they've already had good chemistry so far, and they've shown loyalty, but it's so nice to finally see zoro and nami kind of starting to admit that they do like these people they've become friends with, and it's nice to see that they're coming around to how much they care about luffy

i was a little iffy about them doing the garp reveal at the end. my first instinct was to be really annoyed by it, but after thinking on it for a moment, it honestly does make sense. in the first place there wasn't really a plot reason to put off the reveal until post enies lobby anyways. and then you also have to take into account that it would be a huge success if we ever even get a second season, let alone reaching post enies lobby. so it's not ideal, but i'm not too upset at them about it. ALSO, seeing zoro, nami, and usopp's reaction to the news was fucking hilarious. i hope we get some good dynamics in the next episode! i want to see garp call luffy his idiot grandson. i want that funny family dysfunction.

An old man walked into the room of a young boy.

“WHAT IS THIS?” The old man screeched. The boy cowered in fear.

“My report card..” the boy said. The man growled.

“A B plus? What is this, a joke?!” The man yelled. The boy shook his head hesitantly.

“Uncle I can explain..” the boy replied. The man waited for his response.

“There’s this.. uh.. girl-“

“A GIRL? YOU HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO THINK ABOUT THAN A GIRL!!” The man lashed out at the boy, dragging a sharp object up his arm. The boy cried in pain.

“Uncle, I'm sorry it won't happen again!” The boy sobbed. The man scowled at the boy.

“Oh stop crying, crying is for the weak.” He growled, before leaving the boy with a gash in his arm and a first-aid kit that the boy himself had bought and hidden.

Hunter was home, full of the chicken-bread Willow had given him.

Fuck, shes pretty. Hunter couldn't help but think. He knew he'd fallen, he’d fallen really quickly. It only took him one day to realise that he’d fallen for her.

(Help i am listening to teeth and it's stopping my brain from thinking because it's so good to vibe to.)

(Also I’m doing this in the middle of a class of some description that I should be paying attention to because people play games on the computers. We got them chromebooks and they’re probably not doing the work. But anyways- 💀)

Hunter sat on his bed quietly. All he could think about was Willow. He sighed, checking his watch. Nearly time for his bread and water meal. At least he could savour this round of stale bread because he was already full. He knew he’d better stop gushing over her school photo that he somehow acquired.

The door opened quietly and a plastic water bottle and three stale bits of bread were thrown at him. He stuffed the break in a box under his bed, and flopped down, bringing out her photo again. He sighed. She sounded so concerned after learning that he didn’t eat much on the weekend, and he wondered what she’d act like if he told her about his home life. He brought the bed sheet over himself and drifted softly to sleep.

Willow got home very quickly, but spent her afternoon wondering about Hunter. He’d been so quick to defend his earlier statement of the fact he didn’t eat at home. Was it a lie?

Despite her concern, her dads cotived when she came out for dinner, her red face and floppy ears.

(In this story, floppy ears are gush/embarrassment.)

Gilbert had an idea of what was going on, but Harvey was clueless.

“Hey flower, what’s on your mind?” Gilbert asked. Willow snarled back to reality, facing her dad.

“Uh-“ Willow thought for a minute. Tell the truth or lie? Truth. “A boy.” She smiled, giggling in embarrassment. Gilbert snorted with laughter.

“A boy?” He asked.

“Yeah.”

“What’s his name?” Gilbert asked. Willow knew he was just trying to pull information fro her, but she decided she was going to answer this time.

“Hunter.”

“What does he look like?”

Gilbert recalled the name. It was the name of the boy who wrote her up everyday for wearing things against the dress code, which he thought was unreasonable.

“He’s blonde.. with magenta eyes. He has a… sizeable nose.” She giggled. Gilbert loves listening to his daughter.

“Special to you, is he?” Gilbert asked. Willow faced dropped.

“Actually, I’m concerned for him. When we were talking, he slipped in speech and said he didn’t eat at home, but quickly corrected himself to not eating much at home.” She explained.

This sparked a thought of concern in Willow’s father. All he could produce is an ‘oh’, before leaving the conversation.

“Willow, please this school needs to look good for the school that is playing here today.” Hunter whined as Willow absentmindedly tracked mud into the school.

“Oh- sorry Hunter.” Willow blushed and took her roller skates off. Hunter nearly gasped in surprise. She didn’t usually do this. Then surprising him even further, she had a cloth in her bag, and she wiped up the mud she had brought in.

“Oh… well that was different from you.” Hunter commented sweetly. Willow smiled.

“Anything, anytime.” She smiled. “You can talk to me about anything, you know.” She added. Hunter tipped his head to one side. That was a strange statement. Maybe he was overthinking it.

“Uh, thanks?” He replied to her. Something wasn’t right. This didn’t seem like her. Where was ‘rebellious roller skater that can do anything and you can’t stop me.’? He shook his thoughts away. Something wasn’t right but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Obviously, apart from the fact she wasn’t rebelling.

Well, he can’t focus on that right now can he? He had a school to keep clean.

It sent the entire crowd into shock before some of them started screaming their lungs out to the song that was being blasted out by the speakers.

“MAX! MAX! MAX! SUPER MAX!” everyone was jumping up and down screaming their lungs out by now. The camera that was displaying everything on the big screen behind Y/n panned towards the V.I.P suite where everyone could see Max Verstappen on his knees covering his face with his hands while Lando Norris, Daniel Ricciardo and Charles Leclerc were standing beside him laughing so hard that all of them had tears in their eyes.

Everyone cheered when Max had finally stood up and was smiling so hard it looked like his face would split in half with the amount of force he was using. If anyone asked him in the near future if those were tears that were slowly gracing his waterline of his eyes, he would defend that statement until his death.
