A recurring problem between evil time lords is the fact that all their plans are shit and never work. They go out to the universe, try to conquer a planet or kill a bunch of creatures and fail miserably. In fact, they fail so bad it’s an embarrassment.

So I’m here to propose to The Academy for Time lords to consider an evil plans course. A 3 years course where young timelords learn how to brew evil plans that could work. Show them what to do and what not, how to survive the wild while also looking as superior as timelords are. This course could help to show other planets that time lords are not bad at plans and that they’re superior and amazing.

The first one and a half years are all about famous pathetic evil time lord The Master, and how to avoid being like him. They show every plan he created and failed miserably at and the young timelords have to understand how to change them to make them work. The Master takes too much time that in fact I’d also propose a special course about him that should last more than 10 years, as we would have to add time with every failed plan he creates.

Last five months of the course are about rogue hated timelord The Doctor. You may ask yourself “oh, why so little time for the one who will probably stop all these evil plans?” Well the answer falls in no one fucking knows how to stop him. They try to find ways and those always end inconclusive or don’t work in the long run. So we plan to show in those months how to escape The Doctor and be able to rethink your ideas.

This will show how amazing timelords are.

One thing I like about Stolas is that he learns, and then he takes action of his own accord. He's not stagnant. Sure, he can be a bit oblivious and lost in his own head, but once he's finally informed that there is a problem he always makes a real effort to reflect on it and then do something about it.

We see it as early as Loo Loo Land, where he misses all the cues that Octavia is upset, but once she actually tells him what's wrong he immediately reassures her. He then promptly leaves with her, asks her what she wants to do instead, and takes her there despite not understanding the appeal. His focus is on her the whole time from the moment he finds her crying. He even carries her like she's a small child again the entire way back to the van, and she lets him because physical comfort is something she needs and he knows it.

We see it again after Ozzie's, where Blitz is finally honest about his belief that Stolas wants him for nothing but sex. After a night of heavy drinking, he immediately starts to reflect on things and comes to the correct conclusion that their deal needs to end, because in hindsight Blitz didn't seem happy or like he was having a good time like Stolas previously assumed, and then he tries to find Blitz a way to stay in business without relying on him. He gets a little side tracked because of the divorce, but he never gives up on getting Blitz an Asmodean Crystal, even when it requires him to wait several hours in Asmodeus' waiting room fresh out of the hospital.

We also see it in Apology Tour, where he reflects in his song and starts to realize that his behavior early on wasn't taken as him being cute and playful like he intended, but pushy and overbearing. Despite how Blitz hurt and yelled at him both that morning and the night before, he acknowledges that it wasn't malicious and doesn't try to put the blame for things going wrong on Blitz, although he doesn't yet realize that it's not because Blitz doesn't care, it's because he cares too much and is scared of that.

Stolas is learning and changing, but it's a slow process. It comes in pieces. Which is generally how it goes in real life, too. People don't usually change overnight, it can take years and years to fully unlearn bad behaviors and do better, but fuck if he isn't trying.

He needs problems spelled out for him though. He's been extremely sheltered and socially isolated his whole life, and there are a lot of things pointing to him being autistic as well. He's going to miss or misinterpret things that are just implied, there's simply no getting around that. For example, he was never going to realize that there are problems with how he treats imps in general without prompting, because that's been normalized for him and he's high enough on the food chain that almost no one is going to correct his unconscious bigotry. That is, until Blitz, who is perhaps the only person of a lower class Stolas knows who's not intimated by him in the slightest (other than Striker, who was torturing him at the time, which is yet another trauma barrier that will make it hard for him to reconcile with his racism/classism), tells him in a fit of rage. 

I'm sure he'll reflect on Blitz's words and what they mean about how he acts when it's not less than 24 hours since he got his heart smashed to pieces. I don't know about you guys, but I know firsthand that the humiliation and betrayal he likely felt after having his feelings mocked not once, but twice (first on accident, but the next very much on purpose. Oh Blitz, the self-sabotage is so painful to see) take a little while to get over. Let him reflect on how his over-enthusiasm had him running roughshod over Blitz first for a bit, which he's already in the process of doing, then when things aren't so fresh he'll be in a better headspace to consider his overarching biases.

And from a narrative standpoint, the fact that it's taking a while for him to work through everything is a good thing. Expecting him to just Know Better is unrealistic and would cheapen his character arc. He's fighting to do better for the people he loves despite his trauma and implicit biases making that hard for him, and if he is autistic then there are just some things he will always struggle with, like reading social cues. But for any of his improvement to feel satisfying for the viewers then it has to move at a reasonable pace, and unfortunately that kind of change takes time. It's difficult, but he's actually doing a pretty good job so far. He's making a real effort to fix his behavior. But you gotta be patient, he's basically fumbling blindly through this alone.

Anyway, I just really love that, slowly but surely, he's learning. He's not being babied by the narrative or the creators, he's holding himself accountable and changing himself for the better. If you want realistic characters with nuance and depth then you have to let them actually act in the messy, imperfect ways real people do. This is true for Blitz and his character arc as well, but that's for a whole other post.

Tell me why ten-year-old Jake has actually decided that today is the day to be unreasonably sappy and wants to do a casual bit of character observation/deep forewarning on my boy Michael here like what is this factual response/deep poetic shit coming out his mouth right now I swear that was not me

Both boys willingly walked back to the pavilion, bantering good naturedly, and when Michael rubbed his arms to try and return some heat to them, Jake gently placed Cleo’s jacket over the son of Apollo’s shoulders, which was nice, as Michael had forgot he had that. He smiled gratefully and wriggled into it again, then poked Jake smugly. “Wishing you had a hoodie?” 

“Nope.” Jake smirked back, gesturing to himself. “I have internal heating. Unlike you.” 

Michael frowned and reached up to put one hand on the son of Hephaestus’ chest, scowling when he realised that Jake was actually still very warm, even through his t-shirt. “That’s unfair.”  

Jake smirked and shrugged. “You’re like sunshine, I’m like fire. The sun is hot, but because of its distance from the Earth, we don’t feel the effect of its warmth as strongly at first. Fire gives off more immediate warmth.”

“That-” He frowned again, glaring at the other boy. “That’s also not fair. I thought I was the son of the god of poetry?” 

Jake just grinned, shrugging again. “All I did was lay out the facts. You’re the one who interpreted it poetically.”

“Oh where’s Marlene?” said Mary as soon as she came into the living room and saw Lily reading on the couch, alone.

“With Dorcas” replied Lily, looking up from her book. “You are back early.. how was it?”

“Fine.”

“Fine? It was fine? Mary please…” Lily rolled her eyes and with the teasing tone she continued, “He was ugly wasn’t he? oh my god was he bald? Was your blind date Danny DeVito?”

Mary wanted to be annoyed at Lily, because the redhead was doing everything possible to be an annoying asshole, but Mary couldn’t be annoyed, she couldn’t, when she was praying to her knees not to buckle, because quite frankly Lily with that teasing smirk was hot.

“Oh I wish he would have been Danny DeVito, at least he would have been funnier” mumbled Mary, sitting on the other end of the couch.

“Oh so that bad huh?”

“Well.. he was nice, polite..?” Mary continued with a questioning tone

“Are you asking or are you telling cause if you are asking I don’t think I know the answer, you were the one on a date after all” Lily was on a roll of running her mouth apparently, but god that mouth looked so good doing anything. “You couldn’t have stayed there for more than an hour tho? What was so terrible about him? Patchy beard? Weird Mole? Fake accent?”

Mary considered making an excuse, saying something that would be believable but a lie. But Lily looked so beautiful, so so kissable.. and she looked exactly how Mary imagined her surrounded by fluffy cushions and blankets, comfortable and pretty. And when Mary was in that stuffy restaurant only thing she wanted to be was next to Lily on that couch. So she looked straight at the redheads teasing eyes and whispered. “He wasn’t you.”

The end of that confession and Lily’s lips on Mary’s were simultaneous.

Lily kissed like a woman hungry, woman determined, woman taking. Mary was immediately engulfed. Her head thrown back on the back side of the couch pulling Lily onto her lap.

Lily’s lips traveled downwards like they were on a mission. Mission to cover every inch of Mary’s body. First the jaw, then the sweet spot on her neck, collarbone, breasts, where the damned lacy bra allowed the skin to be free, stomach under messily shoved up blouse.

Every inch of her skin covered, accompanied by the sweet, sweet sounds of Mary. Until Lily’s head was buried under her skirt.

I mean she did help her choose that one before the date, “looks good with the blouse, goes with the new shoes” Lily had said, she however didn’t say how much she wanted to well to put it simply fuck Mary in it.

Lily was getting what she wished for and she was not wasting the opportunity. She kissed Mary right above her lacy panties, sucked on her inner tights, traced the sweet spot with her fingers. And when Mary’s voice grew higher and her squirming more well squirm-ish she finally buried her tongue. When Lily thought licking and sucking were not enough she added her fingers, looking up at Mary’s eyes rolling back. Mary was coming undone on the couch in the living room, the neighbors probably heard Lily enjoying her sweet treat. It was insane, probably would traumatize Marlene if she came back home seeing kneeling Lily and moaning mess of Mary. But well, what could Lily do, Mary needed to be reminded of some particular things and she was determined to be the cue.

As she felt Mary’s breathing shorten and her body start to shake, Lily quickly pulled out her fingers and stood up on her legs.

Even if Mary needed to be reminded of things, and even if Lily was taught to always finish her dinner, she also needed to get the message across. “You will get the rest when you stop going on dates.”

Lily could hear Mary’s tiny scoff as she tried to even out her breathing.

Mary needed more than couple of seconds to calm down and get her mind back. Being taken at the edge of the cliff but never getting the push to go over and fall was one of the pettiest things Lily had done. But I guess Mary deserved that, she deserved every bit of an attitude from Lily but she also deserved to get what she was dreaming the whole evening.

Mary walked to Lily’s door and watched her loosely braid her fiery hair with the same delicate fingers that had made Mary scream just moments ago. She twisted the strands of hair around each other swiftly and it looked beautiful, it was a shame they would get ruined very, very quickly under Mary’s fist.

Mary walked into Lily’s room like a panther, gracefully, laced with danger. Lily looked at her with a stoic expression like absolutely nothing had happened minutes ago. Though that expression was darkened quickly when Mary straddled her lap and started kissing her neck.

“I will.. stop.. the dates..” was breathed out after every kiss. “You can have all of me Lily”

“All mine?” was questioned by the head thrown back.

“All Yours” was echoed as Mary was suddenly being thrown on Lily’s bed.
