Every Hermes person I have met so far, myself included, has been diagnosed with ADHD LMAO
Ever heard the phrase "Hermes, God of ADHD"? It's an actual inside joke for many worshippers of Hermes because, trust me, you aren't the only one to have noticed this trend XD

Hello. I love your Poseidon design! I wanted to ask, how tall is Poseidon? Since he’s the tallest according to you. Love your work💙
Hi, and thank you!
I don't think there's an easy answer. Basically, my gods don't have a definitive height to them; they can change as they please, but, just like their overall appearance, they choose what feels most comfortable and natural to them (which slightly varies each time, so i can't tell you specific numbers).
[That said, for example Zeus could be bigger if he wanted to, but chooses not to, since being smaller feels right to him; Poseidon himself doesn't like getting any smaller in humanoid form because he gets naseous when he tries to, and he's used to being the tallest his whole life.]
This applies no matter if they're massive or more human-like.
I have no artwork, but i made a silly sketch to demonstrate some of this idea better:

I hope this answers your question!

can we have more details about hermes x Odysseus? Please ~
More than happy to dearie
(Also you didn’t need to send the ask twice lol)
Since Ody is technically Hermes great grandson (*cough cough*), he’s known about his general existence long before he met him on Aeaea. He didn’t care that much about him tho, cause like if he gave a shit about every mortal offspring he had then he literally wouldn’t have time for anything else.
Still, hearing that Athena herself had taken an interest in one of his? Fascinating to be sure. Not enough to start giving a shit, but still, fascinating
And then, Poseidon. Hermes was of course the first to hear the news that Poseidon had attacked and killed over five hundred Greeks over one slight, and you know he spread that gossip to the rest of Olympus like fucking wildfire. But still, that makes two gods (one of which a member of the big three) that has taken an interest in some way in Odysseus. So it might be time to investigate
Hermes finds him and the remainder of his crew having washed up on Aeaea, which tickles him a bit. One of Athena’s “warriors”, seeking refuge on Circe’s island? Interesting choice indeed.
But Hermes takes his time to indulge in one of his favourite pastimes, spying on people. And sure, Odysseus does his fare share of moping there on the beach, but to the messenger gods surprise, despite all of the man’s losses, he takes action almost immediately, ordering some other guy to go scout out the island. And even though Hermes loves watching Circe trick and hex people, he doesn’t leave to go check that out. He stays, watching the mortal go about.
Hermes also takes the time to truly take notice how handsome the man is. He has a slightly short stature and lean build, just like any descendant of his, but he seems to have not let that stop him as he moves about with confident elegance. His hair is much darker than Hermes own, and despite being ruffled and damp from the sea water, the messenger god can see that it’s well cared for. Most of all, he takes notice of the mortals eyes, a deep rich brown, and despite the weariness and paranoia to be found in them, he still sees a small twinkle in them, a light that has not yet been snuffed out by his uncle.
Hermes could have watched the man for hours if he so desired, and so was a little pissed off when the other man from before came running and interrupted them.
But it was through that that Hermes got a chance to see another of Odysseus strengths, his way with words. Despite the frankly idiotic decision to land on Aeaea, the messenger god could clearly see his sister in the way he spoke. He was even more intrigued by the things he was saying, showing loyalty and honour, despite having a chance to escape the situation. Hermes himself never cared much about loyalty, but the fact that the mortal is willing to risk his own life and safety for his crew? He can’t help but be impressed
Until he realises that yeah his new favourite mortal is most definitely going to fucking die if he doesn’t do anything, so, he gets involved.
And if he’s a bit extra giddy when Odysseus says his name, if he flirts a little more than he usually does, if he holds him extra close when they dance, well that’s only for him to know.
Hermes keeps spying on Ody even after Circe, even going so far as to follow him to the underworld. Usually when mortals have extreme breakdowns and cursing the gods out, Hermes finds it kinda funny. It’s a good show. But, when his mortal does it (Because that’s what he is. He’s not Athenas, or Poseidons, he’s his. It was Hermes who saved him from Circe, it’s Hermes who’s keeping an eye on him, hell he would never have been born if it wasn’t for Hermes), it’s way less fun, and just upsetting.
Hermes keeps keeping watch as his mortal keeps getting worse. The sirens, Scylla, his mortals crew turning on him, Hermes witnesses it all. As much as he’d like to assist in some way, he was already in trouble with Zeus for his intervention on Aeaea, and that had been a pretty minor thing all things considered. Despite everything that occurs, he still sees that same twinkle remain in his eyes, that same light that Hermes treasures so.
Still, it was hard to not get absolutely pissed when that other man stabbed his mortal.
When Zeus got involved with his mortal and struck down his crew, Hermes lost sight of him. The messenger god spent seven years scouring the ocean for any trace of the king, but to no avail.
When he’d searched every single corner of the earth, Hermes through in the towel and finally did what he really didn’t want to do.
He asked his sister for help.
Despite how much it upset him, Athena had actually formed a divine bond with Odysseus, which made her capable of tracking him.
And find him she did. On Calypso’s island.
Fuck.
Luckily, Athena wanted him freed too, so Hermes didn’t have to grovel to Zeus himself. He would have done so if needed, but having Athena do ir for him was easier on his pride.
And he was more than happy that that was the case, as Athena got a lightning bolt to the face, and Hermes got the job of retrieving his mortal.
He’s never been as excited as he was, travelling to Ogygia, past the veil keeping the island hidden from the outside world. And, maybe he’s a little gloaty when he tells Calypso to release his mortal, but it’s difficult not to be. The goddess has spent seven years thinking that Odysseus belongs to her. Laughable, truly.
Hermes has spent years thinking about his mortal, missing his elegant stride, his beautiful hair, his lopsided cocky smile, his eyes. Yet, when he first get a look of him again after so many years, building his sad little raft, it’s nothing less than painful.
Because he’s wrong. The paranoia has settled in, making him jumpy and uncertain, and while his time on Ogygia had made him altogether more healthy, it was in a way that just didn’t fit. He looked almost uncomfortable in his own skin as he moved. And worst of all, his eye twinkle had all but vanished.
But all of his upsetting feelings vanished the second his mortal laid eyes on him, and his smile shone brighter than Apollo himself.
Hermes stayed by his side as long as he could warning him both about the dangers ahead, but also drinking in every moment his mortals attention was on him.
But even still, he eventually had to depart. He knew his uncle was waiting for a final chance to finish his mortal off. If Apollo was to be believed, Odysseus would survive the encounter, somehow, but that didn’t stop the rising anxiety Hermes felt as he said farewell to his mortal, taking his leave with a soft kiss.
~~~
I have many thoughts on Hermes, my favourite Greek god (Not my favourite overall god tho, Idun my beloved <3). Mans is most def extremely Not Normal about poor Ody, who did not ask for all this attention from the gods.
I do also imagine most gods to be extremely possessive, and do not like sharing, so Hermes isn’t too fond of the fact that like five other gods are vying for Odysseus attention.
He remains silly tho, stalker tendencies and all
I always headcanon that Luke's mom didn't start off as bad mentally as we saw in canon. At first Luke's mom somehow managed to hide what happened to her and took care of her son. She had episodes, and kept seeing the very worst things that could happen to him. But she always told herself, it's the future it could mean anything, plus you don't know the affects it could have on mortals ehat happened to her. But eventually it got worse and worse. To the point where she couldn't hide it from Luke anymore. To the point she had more bad days than good. To the point where we saw how she was in canon. Luke leaving honestly made it worse because the guilt ate at her. She blamed herself. Why she kept imagining her son would come home.
Ah, May Castellan.
She’s a complicated one, for sure.
Hestia tells Percy that “they were happy” - meaning May, Hermes, and Luke - before Camp Half-Blood asked May to be their new Oracle. But we also see that Luke was still a swaddled infant when May tried to take the position. How brief their happiness was.
I don’t know what horrors exactly May saw, because there’s literally no point in Luke’s life that could be called “good.” So it could have been only his death or, as Percy speculated, Luke being possessed by Kronos, or it could have even been Luke’s entire life. I don’t think it was mere possession, because that’s a difficult thing to see from the outside (particularly since Luke’s outward appearance didn’t change except his blue eyes turning to gold). I’m guessing it was either Luke’s life up to his death or just his death (which, as a reminder, was extremely brutal; he was essentially tortured before killing himself [tortured isn’t exactly the word I’m looking for but the, ah, severity of injury was incredible] and he suffered greatly).
So now May, this mother who was so happy with her lover and child, has to live with this knowledge of what’s going to happen to her son. Who is, again, an infant. A helpless baby. May’s beautiful, beloved baby. Her baby, who is described as “happy” by the goddess of the hearth. How often did May look at Luke, and think that this was going to be the only time in Luke’s short life that he would be happy?
It had to eat at her. It would eat at me. It had to fester, this open wound in May’s heart and mind. It probably choked her, probably made May furious and despairing in equal measure. Because it’s not fair and it’s not kind of the world to do this to her baby and there’s absolutely nothing that May can do about it. There’s no cure, there’s no trick, there’s no running and hiding from it, there’s no way to fight it. It had to eat at her.
And if that kind of stress wasn’t bad enough - wasn’t enough to have caused the fits of crying and screaming about Luke’s Fate, of shaking him while she speaks his doom - May did not escape the encounter with the Oracle unchanged and unscathed. I’m not talking about her knowledge of Luke’s Fate, I’m talking about the fact that her eyes turn glowing, Oracle green. A piece of the Oracle is in May Castellan.
I wonder if it’s her who’s doing the screaming and the shaking. If the Oracle who was cursed for helping someone avoid their Fate is now trying desperately to change Luke’s, through May. Ah, but she’s been dead for so long, hasn’t she? And she’s not even all the way there, only a piece of her trapped in May. Does she even remember how to behave with mortals, with children? I wonder if their mutual despair created a sort of feedback loop, only intensifying the horrific helplessness they must have felt.
I’m sure you’re right, in that the erratic and scary behavior escalated as Luke got older. Every year that passed was a year closer to Luke’s brutal death. Every year that Luke grew up, May knew that he’d never get to grow up. Not for real, not with the time he should have had. Depending on if you count Luke’s death as happening when Kronos possesses him in BOTL or if you count it as happening when Luke stabs himself in TLO, then Luke dies at either 21 or 22.
(the general audience for this series being young teenagers, most of them think that Luke was super old and mature and that 22 is such a long life but it’s actually a tragically short life and Luke was still so fucking young - being adults, both May and the Oracle would be fully aware of this)
May grieved for Luke while he was right there with her, for years, and I think that between her grief and the Oracle, things got bad in that house for Luke. Probably faster than you’d expect. But you also have to remember, that this is all Luke knows. Luke never talks about going to school, and he says that Thalia was his very first friend (who he met when he was between 12-14), and there were no other adults around who could have helped. Hermes has left them.
(speaking of adults, though, the gods and Camp Half-Blood sure were very fucking interested in Luke and May, everyone keeping tabs on them, but did they do anything to alleviate any of their burdens? no. no, they didn’t.)
Anyway, this is all Luke knows in life. It terrifies him to the point that Luke hides in closets to get away from May. And by nine years old, Luke’s decided that he can’t live like this anymore. I think Luke loved May, because she’s his mom, but at nine years old, Luke was already breaking.
The guilt of Luke running away probably swallowed May whole. He didn’t return for five years, and when he did Hermes told Luke not to come back because Luke’s presence made May “worse.” She was right in the next room and Luke wasn’t being quiet, I wonder if May heard this. Her lover telling her son to stay away…because she was too sick to see him anymore. She might have known Luke would come back seven years later, to seal his death and save her life. Or Hermes may have later told her that Luke would never come back (this could be what May is referring to when she talks to Nico and Percy, but she could just as easily be talking about whoever was there for Luke’s latest visit, since he definitely wasn’t coming back after that).
You know that I firmly believe that Luke bathed in the River Styx to save May’s life, because of two little scenes in TLO. May literally tells Percy and Nico that “Luke left to protect me. He said if he went away, the monsters wouldn’t threaten me.” And later in the book, Kronos says that he “had to pressure Luke in many ways” to get him to agree to the Styx. So now imagine the guilt of that on top of everything else. And this was nearly a year before Nico and Percy visit her, so May has had a year to sit with this knowledge, this guilt and grief. I think it broke her thoroughly, so that she becomes the scattered, confused woman we see in TLO.
Can I request Hermes with a winged fem!s/o. Reader has dragonfly like wings and can fly extremely fast
🔔 message received !
— i did bullet points and second person pov on this... if you want it differently, feel free to send another ask. let me know whatever you guys like. i think it's a little sucky, it's been a hot minute since i written requests...
୨୧ character ┊ hermes.
୨୧ pronouns ┊ she / her.
୨୧ contents ┊ reader is a mortal with wings. female reader only implied.
Tumblr media
It was simply a blessing from Phobos. he gifted you a pair of beautiful wings and you couldn't wait to show this off to Hermes.
Almost immediately, he asks to race you.
And you accepted without hesitation.
Foolish decision when you've yet to grown used to flying.
You crashed into a tree within twenty minutes of the race.
Hermes laughed first before he helped you.
It takes a while to get used to flying and zipping all over the place. Hermes tried to help but his wings are feathered rather than veiny like yours.
Once you get used to it though, it is such a fun perk!!
He's denied a kiss from you by floating off the ground before, so guess what!! Now you can just take it!
Absolutely marvels at your wings. The way it looks and moves is just so intricate.
It's really transparent and looks thin but it's pretty resilient, he likes looking through them and see the funky shapes that come out.
It's like mirror funhouse.
While he's definitely happy you can fly together now, he missed when he can just pick you up in his arms and watch you scramble in his arms.
He also praise you at how it's so much more low maintenance than feathered wings since you wouldn't need to prune.
Does that thing where you kiss someone but covers your face with something, he does that with your wings. No it is not effective. Yes, he is aware.
He'd jokingly confuse you with an actual dragonfly whenever he spots one.
“Oh my me! I must be seeing doubles!” As he looks back between you and the dragonfly.
He'd pull you in for a mid air dance at one point. Not that he doesn't already do it before you had wings but now you can actually keep up.
thank you for requesting ♡
Any headcanons for the gods divine forms?
Personally imagine Hermes similar to a biblically accurate angel/bird mainly because of pg 248 in the sea of monsters
HARD agree on the Hermes i LOVE that for him. (how about an ibis as a ref to the whole Hermes-Thoth thing heh?)
right off the bat I think Apollo is the fucking solar system. yeah that's right you know the moment he goes supernova and blinds commodus? i imagine a huge sun just majestically flinging solar flares out with celestial objects orbiting it.
and if you are NOT as lucky as commodus, who did not in fact get the full blast, you will eventually see something so terrifying it will dissolve you into nothingness. now OUR sun wouldn't ever become one of these fuckers because it's too damn small, but DETAILS this is a god we're talking about and this is as terrifying as stars can get.
i see this terrifying something as an eldritch version of a black hole.
one of these fuckers.
Tumblr media
imagine THAT being the last thing you see. it's so beautiful and deadly and terrifying all at once. you're THAT close to a black hole? buddy you are DEAD. DONE FOR. BYE BYE BYE.
Helios imo was a neutron star
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
like so
Demeter is def some sort of eldritch earth creature. Poseidon the same but ocean. Hestia is a pillar of fire like in Exodus. Hera is so beautiful that it’s terrifying and very very bright to look at. Aphrodite is the most eldritch. Dionysus def has horns as a callback to Orphic him. Persephone is same as Demeter but with more death vibes.
that’s all I have lol I’m not quite sure on Zeus, Hades, Hephaestus, Ares, or Athena just yet.
