Haven't done anything empires in a while, so I decided to draw my favorite wooden demigod, Hermes! (Featuring him as a Real Boy!)

I really wanna talk about my design, but no idea how to explain it as there's not much lol.

I gave Hermes birth mark like lines where his wooden joints used to be (and gold markings where he may have gotton cut or chipped, the big star shaped one on his chest being where his golden heart used to sit, exposed.) and brown hair for no reason other than I thought it looked good and would make sense.

Also, I gotta mention, despite it already being five months ago, I absolutely adored the finale, especially sausage's???? God, when I went back to watch it to get references I got bulldozed by his last line a whole two times in a row

ooo, sure! i don't have a lot, tbh, but i'll give you what i do have!

he is not blond, i know everyone drew him like that because of the shulker head, and i get it, but oh my god he's not blond. he's half puerto rican and both his dads have dark hair, that boy is NOT blond.

he picked up languages really well as a kid and knows at least bits and pieces of a ton of them. i believe sausage mentions at some point that he knows english, spanish, and greek (from his parents) and can read but not speak/hear japanese, and i think he picks up bits of a few more in universe languages as well.

i ignore one part of the finale and it's the bit where he talks. this kid is nonverbal.

after he gets older and starts getting into universe hopping, he does relatively frequent visits with pearl. either in her heaven/afterlife or in whatever season of hermitcraft she's currently on.

similarly, at some point when he's experimenting with jumping realities he finds oli back on x life (or wherever he's ended up at that point, maybe he's been working on getting to hermitcraft in the meantime) and he doesn't totally recognize him, cause the last time he saw this guy he was like 5 and a decade and a half later oli looks pretty different, but he knows that he knows him, y'know? and since sausage mentioned in the finale that he occasionally brings people from his adventures home for dinner, he decides to bring oli home as well to see if eddie or sausage can help place him. oli also doesn't recognize hermes, cause, again, last time he saw this kid he was a child, but he arrives in sanctuary and goes "oh, you've gotta be kidding me" and when he's brought to sausage's doorstep and sausage goes "oh my god, oli?" he makes a split second decision and goes "who?" and then it's like, a whole thing that oli now gets/has to fake not having all his memories (as sausage did after he got all his memories back). hermes earnestly believes that oli has lost his memories for about two minutes and then is constantly trying to convince his dad and grandfather that oli's bullshiting them. it's an extremely weird nightmare for him.

I have so many ideas for this already. Tom being protective of Hermes and watching over him even though Hermes is the slightly older one. The Bot Brothers causing Hermes to turn into a red life, making him go nearly mad and coming back for revenge in the middle of the night, striking down Grum and turning him into a red life as well, then trying to go for Jrum (been calling him J/Jay in my mind) but being stopped by Grum shooting an arrow through him after respawning and grabbing the first weapon on hand, yelling for Jay to run and battling with Hermes (in my mind this is a gorey battle, right from the start). Hermes goes down, right as Tom arrives and sees him being struck down for good, his items going all over the ground. Grum agknowledges Tom but his main concern is his brother, so he rushes to Jay's side to see if he is okay. Tom approaches and falls to his knees next to his half-brother's things, picking up his golden armor and staring at his reflection in it. A slaughter insues. Tom stabs Grumb as he's turned away and then spawn camps Jay until he's gone as well, then goes for Jeremy Jr (I call him just Jr). Jr runs and tries to get away and buy himself time to prepare to fight back, but he can't get away from Tom. Tom tries to tell him one last thing, give him one last chance, but Jr can't hear him like Hermes always did, and Tom is too unstable to form a proper Watcher message to him. They end up fighting, but are both on yellow and away from either of their respawn points, so it turns into a manhunt as soon as one of them goes down. I don't know which one of them would come out victorious, but in my heart it is Tom, as revenge for them murdering his brother Hermes.

And then they all respawn back in their main world and have to talk about what just happened, apologize a bit, etc.

I also have another idea of Hermes and Grum argueing and Tom swooping in to forcefully stop them after some very hurtful things were said, giving them a long and angry lecture via Watcher messaging (I have a very specific visual for this but to me it's kinda like telepathy), then setting a shulker of golden carrots on the floor and signing "sit. eat." as an order, and then they all just eat in silence until everyone has calmed down

Hermes is a sweet baby child but I feel like he'd be a bit arrogant or prone to mania from time to time, like his god dad Joel

My most favourite part of Joel's recent episode is just, more than half of it is just spent declaring he loves his son, Hermes, so much (even if he isn't sure what exactly his son is, he doesn't really care), and that Hermes is a good boy and Joel will do anything to protect him like

I'm sobbing he loves his boy so much 😭😭

His son has the super, most special island shape; that has fun bouncy pads, a big three-sized bed, an aquarium, and some other pets he can have

He deserves every little bit of spoiling Joel and Sausage showers him and he is honestly one of the best parts of this season ngl

so like what’s the general consensus on the trauma hermes must have suffered after this? kid’s barely a year old (physically) and I headcanon like 6-7 years old (developmentally) and he’s been kidnapped by an alternate version of his father, seen their actual father get beat up, and is probably having the worst time of his life while their parents are partying it up at glimmergrove.

bound to be some trust issues even after helping him defeat said evil alternate counterpart of his father… by electrocuting the guy as he screams in pain.

actually— should we question their parenting? do i need to bring in cps? /j

okay so i just finally finished watching Joel’s stream so i can finally posted this (just wanted to wait until it was done just in case) but can i just say

it actually makes me really happy that c!Joel and c!Sausage have a kid together platonically

like obvs shipping is all fun and games so long as the the cc’s behind the characters are comfy with it (which, Joel apparently isn’t for himself with anyone but Lizzy, which is valid)

but my little aro-ace heart just gets filled up with so much joy by people having that kind of stuff be platonic. like!!! yes raise that child together platonically!!! you go kings!!!
