I really like that they made Jor-El speak Kryptonian and Clark unable to understand him. The whole "aliens speak English" thing that happens in every goddamn media has bothered me all my life. Ik sometimes Clark just gets zapped in the brain for insta-second language but that always felt like a cheap shortcut.

Jor-El had a lot on his mind when he set up that magic spaceship okay. The world was ending and he was trying to do as much as he could before time ran out so he could be there for his son. He was rushing. He likely didn't consider Kal would be raised with a whole different language and not know any Kryptonian nor have anyone to teach him.

Bonus! Based on this quick thing I did this afternoon and the idea took a bit more shape and turned into that thing from above uEK

#not too much effort on the colors with this one #o would’ve left it just with lineart but at the end I thought it would look nicer with some rough shadows #shadowing. you know what I meant.#his plant markings being extremely faint on his eyes when they aren’t glowing is very true to me also #I think itd be awesome if Vash’s eyes would just look like that when he isn’t masking #or they could be a bit more lax but still look like they are staring far far away into the void #or into your souls if you so happen to make eye contact with him. like woowoo over here #he is probably listening for one of his sisters who is not so close to him. maybe even Kni? who knows it’s up to interpretation #Vash’s hair can be such a nightmare also. oh i’m in shambles </3 i’ve just started to read caleb’s 4 star memories which consists of the old days between him and mc way before the explosion and—

he’s been with her since the very beginning. he is her “gege” (it’s mentioned many times in cn/jp dub but the eng localization replaces it with other words) and ofc she’ll trust him with everything she has— caleb has always been so kind to her, notices when she’s upset and will try to cheer her up

he’s visibly surprised when he thinks mc is upset bc of some random guy :’D he even lists down the guys she’s ever involved with and is about to take matters to his own hands 🙂‍↕️
