HTML Elements & Tags
Element: anything from the start tag to the end tag.
Tag: a piece of markup language that is used to indicate the beginning and end of an html element in an html document.
Example: <p> your text here </p>
<header><;/header> - Represents a container for introductory content or a set of navigation links. Usually contains one or more heading elements (<h1> - <h6>), logo or icon, or authorship information.
<;h#></h#> - header element. The higher the number, the greater the importance. Only use one <h1> element per page. There can only be six. Main topic on a web page. When visitors to your website see the h1's, it draws attention as it stands out the most on the page as it generally appears as a larger font size and in bold.
<p></p> - paragraph. used to create a paragraph of text on websites. Always starts on a new line. A lot of browsers add some white space (a margin) before and after a paragraph.
<;!-- ____: _______ --> - comment. Used to notate code with text that will not appear on the website/browser display. It allows you to make code inactive. You can use them to explain your code, which can help you when you edit the source code at a later date.
<main></main> - an element that identifies a content area. The main element. Specifies the main content of a document. This type of element/tag makes your html easier to read and helps with Sear Engine Optimization and accessibility. Should not contain any content that is repeated across documents such as sidebars, navigation links, copyright information, site logos, and search forms. When you put things inside the main element, this is called nesting. Nesting elements should be placed two spaces further to the right from the element they are nested in. This spacing is called indentation and is used to make html easier to read.
Example: <main> <h1>Tumblr Meme App</h1> <h2>Tumblr Photos</h2> <!-- TODO: Add link to Tumblr photos --> <;p>See more Tumblr memes in our gallery</p> </main>
<img> - used to images to your website. This element has an opening tag without a closing tag. A tag for an element without a closing tag is called a self-closing tag.

I've now posted my second weekly QL recap post and I'm honestly just really proud of myself. Not just that I've stuck to doing it but also that I've managed to make it something I might actually be able to keep doing because I've made it as easy as possible for myself. That way it's less likely that it'll start feeling like a chore or that it'll take up a lot of my time when I'd rather be talking about the shows than formatting a post.
So because I'm a nerd and I kinda wanna show off a little bit because I'm proud of what I've managed to make, let me tell you exactly what I've set up to make my weekly recap post.
The basis for the post is simple enough: an excel spreadsheet and a python script.
My Spreadsheet of BLs
The spreadsheet is based on My Watchlist on MyDramaList which I literally just do ctrl+A and copypaste into a sheet. This is then automatically compiled into a different sheet where I've made a better overview of all the shows I'm watching and have watched in the past.
Based on this I've set up the weekly overview in a separate sheet shown below
When I'm compiling my weekly recap I can then easily add any new information here.
For new shows I add the information below to the sheet
- MD Title (copied from MyDramaList overview sheet)
- Title (usually copy of MD title with minor edits)
- Site I'm watching the show on
- Tags I want to use for the show
- Episode nr. I'm starting the show on
I also make a banner for the show but I've found a good source for images so it doesn't take long most of the time.
I have to manually upload the banner for the first week but then for the second week a show is in the recap, I can add the HTML for the banner from the previous week's post to the sheet. That way the banner will just be automatically be added to the post every week after that.
Throughout the week I then write notes on each episode I watch into the sheet and before I make the actual post I add the order I want the shows to appear in on the post.
The Script is Where the Magic Happens
When I've finished filling out the spreadsheet for the week I go to my python script, change the week number in the script and run the script.
In the script I've taken the HTML code from my original recap post and set it up so the script fills the information from my spreadsheet for each show into the right places in the HTML code. Since I doubt you guys would find it riveting to look at my full script, here's a little snippet!
When I run the script it then prints out the HTML for the post which I can insert into a new post on tumblr and voila, a weekly recap!!!
I do then have to go through the text for each show and add breaks and spellcheck because that's easier to do here than in the excel cell where I write the notes to begin with. If I have any overall notes or any new banners I have to add, then this is also when I'd do it.
I'm sure there are things you could set up in a better way but this works for me and reduces the amount of time I have to set aside every week for creating the post by a lot. It just makes it easier for me to share my thoughts in a way that's nice to look at without having to spend a ton of time formatting a post each week.
Hope this didn't take away any of the magic behind my posts but just gave a cool insight into the things you can do to make recurring posts easier to make.
Any questions or comments are welcome!
Side note: if you use tumblr on the mobile app and notice that any of the lines with "Episode x of x || Watching on:[site]" are split into two lines, let me know!
That line was surprisingly the hardest to make look the way I wanted because the width of posts and look of text types change depending on whether you're on desktop or the mobile app.
#Sof's a Nerd™ and owning it#I'm actually pretty new to python#so it took me a hot minute to figure out how to wrangle the information out of the spreadsheet and into the HTML script#but at the end I'm pretty satisfied with the result of my hard work#I'd much rather have spent time on the script and spreadsheet in advanced than have to spend a lot of time on the post every Sunday/Monday#it makes it easier to keep up doing the recap posts when I'm busy during the weekend#I was also worried that it would become a chore and as a result also make it a chore to watch BL which is the last thing I want to do#Sof watches BL#Sof Watches Weekly

The sun is slowly disappearing from view, the sky a soft orange surrounded by blue.
He regrets leaving.
He regrets leaving, and this is why he’s coming back to Vesuvia, tail between his legs and flowers in his hands.
You see, this is the first time he saw this kind of flowers and their uniqueness made him think of you.
He hides his face in them, blushing.
The pumpkin bread is still hot in his bag, he knows how much you like it when it’s still warm.
Oh, how much he misses you and how he hates fighting with you.
Especially when you are right, and you are.
He admires your courage, your will to be there for the less fortunate, he adores your strength, he-
Asra cannot bear the thought of something happening to you.
He cannot bear it, but he can’t stop you either, so he ran.
You screamed at him that it is what he does best, and how could he blame you?
That’s what he always did, every time his feelings were going to spill out of him, his heart too small to contain them, he ran away.
Faust snuzzle his cheek, and he lightly scratches her chin.
She misses you, too.
He wanted to tell you, he did, but he could never find the right moment; he used to fantasize, to imagine the two of you on an endless stream of adventure, but then-
What if you didn’t want him?
What if you cared for him as a friend, when he-
When he loves you so much.
But this, this was going to end now.
Asra squares his shoulders, moves his hair out of his eyes; he will tell you, he will tell you that he loves you, tell you that he will be there for you even if you don't love him back, his heart is big enough for the both of you and if he has to look as you find your happiness elsewhere, with somebody else, he will.
He grips the flowers when the shop enters his vision, but suddenly-
His stomach drops as he walks faster, twist the knob to enter and you aren’t there.
He breathes, calms himself.
Surely you are at the palace, helping Julian find a cure, ever so selfless.
So he keeps on walking, ignores the way his skin is covered in goosebumps, the way his throat is dry, no matter how many times he tries to swallow.
Of course, everyone at the palace knows who he is, so he enters quickly, his breathing labored.
He sees a dark figure with red hair bent over a desk and his knuckles hurt, the flowers bending.
“Julian, long time no see.” He says, wills his face to smile.
“I was searching for-”
“Don’t.” Julian answers, covering his face in his hands.
“Don’t?” he repeats, his heart running in his chest, eyes wide; he doesn't recognize the uncontrolled edge in his own voice.
“I am sorry, you know that I am sorry! I’d do anything Asra, anything!”
The flowers hit the ground the moment Asra’s hands grip Julian’s clothes, their faces inches apart.
“What are you saying?” he demands, he pleas, and Julian tries to hide his face again.
“The boat went to the Lazaret a week ago. It’s too late.”
No.
No,no,no,no,no,no-
Julian’s body hits the ground while Asra runs, runs down the stairs, runs and keeps running even as his knees hit the ground, time and time again.
This isn't happening, you aren't gone because he would have known, he would have felt it deep inside his chest and his bones and his lungs, he just needs to find you and you will be there, waiting for him with that smile that makes him want to live and stay and be back for dinner because you are his home, his family, the only thing that makes sense to him.
He runs to the first boat he sees and begs the driver to take him to the Lazaret, begs him and gives him everything that he has, empties his pockets of all his little trinkets, begs until his voice is hoarse.
The boast goes on slowly and Asra grips the wood with all his might and the moment he knows that the water is shallow enough he jumps and he can sense you, you are here, in this gloomy place, you hate places like this, you hate them and you shouldn’t be here and once when he finds he’ll take you away, he’ll bring you home and he will never go away again, to without you, he will promise you this, he will kiss and cry and promise and he will-
Asra takes a step back, and then another, his head shaking violently because how can he feel like you are right in front of him when you aren’t there-
He drops to his knees.
His fingers hit the sand before he can think about it, he digs and digs and digs and his eyes are so full of tears that he can barely see, the sand moves with shades of red until he finds something, something white and curved and the sand is darker and its almost grey and the smell of burned flesh fills his lungs and the taste of acid covers his tongue as he folds, his face in the ashes of what he loves the most.
He didn't even notice how he kept screaming your name, now barely a whisper.
Asra looks at his hands, at the blood and the ash and the bones-
This will not end here.
His hands close around the ashes, around the sand, trying to hold you to his chest.
This isn’t the end; his eyes are wide open.
He will bring you back.

I made a simple free to use "adopt/character shop" code for toyhouse! The idea was to make something that could work well both as a forum post and/or for a folder. It should be theme and mobile friendly.
You can see a live preview here. Hopefully it's easy to edit to anyone's liking.

The Long Way Home I Interlude
Oscar Piastri x Harper Grace (OFC)
Summary — When Harper, a kind girl with a guarded heart, meets rising karting star Oscar Piastri at their English boarding school, sparks fly.
It only takes one silly moment of teenaged love for their lives to change forever.
Warnings — Teenage love, growing up together, falling in love, teen pregnancy, no explicit scenes when the characters are underaged (obviously??), strong language, manipulative parents, past death of a parent, dyscalculia, hardly any angst, slice-of-life basically!
Notes — Tell a friend to tell a friend… she’s backkkkkk. P.S. We’ll pick up Oscar, Harper and baby Clem in the next chapter which will begin our F2 era (forgive me for skipping F3, but we will revisit that era in the future!)
Wattpad Link | Series Masterlist
They started to call it home before they even had the keys.
It was the kind of flat you only ever saw in a glossy magazine or on a Netflix teen drama — all clean lines and warm wood, soft lighting that dimmed with a voice command, floor-to-ceiling windows that turned the city skyline into wallpaper. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a concierge who knew them by name, underground parking, and a leafy park nearby with a duck pond.
It was somewhere in Zone 2 — close enough to the centre for Harper to feel like part of something, far enough out for Oscar to breathe. Within easy driving distance of Silverstone, and surrounded by three coffee shops that all knew Harper's name and her usual: an oat flat white, extra hot, one sugar. Coffee had become a staple since becoming a mum. It was either that or total collapse.
They signed the lease two weeks before Clem's second birthday. Moved in one week after. Harper carried the baby through the door on her hip, while Oscar fumbled with the keys and kept asking, "Are we really doing this?" as though the furniture wouldn't show up in four hours and make it permanent.
Oscar had taken a year out of racing after Clementine was born.
It wasn't a planned decision, and it wasn't one many people understood — least of all the people who'd watched him dominate junior karting and expected him to rise like smoke through the open-wheel ranks. But he'd missed too much school. Missed too many nights, too many hours of Harper crying or trying to make Clementine latch, or just needing someone to keep her upright. And when he was asked — really asked — Are you sure you're not throwing it all away? his answer was always simple.
"She's my baby. Of course I'm sure."
So while others trained and raced and pushed for attention, Oscar Piastri vanished. No interviews, no paddock appearances. Just him, and Harper, and a squishy pink newborn who made the ceiling light look like a disco every time she waved her hands.
They stayed at Haileybury, still just fifteen, turning sixteen. They re-sat their missed GCSEs and passed on the second try. Clementine learned to crawl in the boys' dorm common room. She took her first steps in the school library.
Their friends — Jane and Sam and Matt and Alfie and the rest of that oddball, fiercely loyal circle — became her first family. Clementine had more teenaged godparents than anyone could count. She learned to walk holding onto Oscar's physics notes. She learned to talk sitting in Harper's lap as she typed HTML.
Then came the offer — again. F3. A team ready to take him as soon as he was ready to return. It had been a quiet year in the eyes of the motorsport world — but Oscar came back different. Sharper. More grounded. And far more terrifying behind the wheel.
So they moved into the London flat. Nicole helped decorate — soft colours, baby gates, a kitchen with pale blue cabinets and an American fridge.
Mark handled the other side of Oscar's life. The logistics. Contract offers that just kept getting longer.
Clementine's nursery was a vision board of calm: birchwood cot, pastel cloud decals, a plush rug like walking on cake.
Harper coded the baby monitor app herself — it had the ability to learn and distinguish between Clemmy's cries.
Oscar installed blackout blinds and built a mini bookshelf filled with picture books in three different languages.
They weren't struggling — not the way people expected seventeen-year-old parents to be. Not financially, anyway.
But money never softened the sharp edges of responsibility.
There were still nights where Clementine cried for hours and Harper paced in circles, whispering, 'You're okay, you're okay,' like a mantra she needed to believe herself. There were still moments where Oscar stared at the calendar on the fridge — race dates, interview days, booster shot appointments — and felt panic coil in his chest.
Still, they chose it. Every day. And every day it got a little easier.
In the two years after Clementine was born, the world became a blur of trackside hotel rooms and baby bottles tucked into designer handbags. Harper and Clem travelled with Oscar more often than not — Japan, Italy, Austria, France.
Harper made a rule: in every new country, within three days, she had to learn to order a coffee in the local language.
Oscar made a rule: Clementine got to press the elevator button in every hotel.
They were young. Strange. Wildly out of place sometimes — but a family all the same.
Harper built Oscar's official website from scratch — sleek, scalable, clean UX, dark mode toggle because he was picky. Max Verstappen emailed her after seeing it. (Hey — could you build me something similar?) She said she'd think about it.
She sat her A-levels online. She was already starting to specialise in full-stack development. Her dyscalculia made things hell sometimes — numbers swam on the screen — but she learned how to code by pattern and logic, by rhythm and recursion. She learned how to work with her brain, not against it.
Oscar kept racing. And winning. F4 became F3. Then whispers of F2 began. He got sharper in interviews, more polished for sponsors, more careful around cameras. But at night — when it was just them, limbs tangled on a hotel bed, or Clem snoring softly between them in the cot — he was still that awkward, soft-eyed boy.
They celebrated Clementine's second birthday in a hotel suite in Barcelona with balloons Oscar had blown up and a lopsided cake. They FaceTimed the Haileybury crew. Jane cried. Sam tried to teach Clementine to say fuck.
Later that month, they hung a print in the entryway of their flat. Just one word, in soft gold foil.
Our Home.
Because for all the flights and chaos and podiums and late-night feeds — that's what they were building. Slowly. Quietly. Against every odd and every doubt.
They were seventeen and a half. Young. Exhausted. Occasionally terrified.
But they were a family.
And it was messy, and real, and theirs.

Propaganda
Jeremy Brett (My Fair Lady)—"...he was beautiful. A strange adjective to use in describing a man. I use it not to suggest effeminacy or a kind of male prettiness, but in the same way I would use it to describe a throughbred stallion, Michelangelo's David or Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. There was with Jeremy Huggins [Brett's non- stage name] a perfection and sublime symmetry in his features that was beautiful." [quote from "Bending the Willow" by David Stuart Davies]
Gene Kelly (Singin’ in the Rain, An American in Paris, The Pirate)—It’s hard to know where to start with Gene Kelly because he did so, so much, of such a high quality, from the ballet scenes in “An American in Paris” to the classy suave movie star act of “Singin’ in the Rain” to the incredibly camp, sexy “The Pirate”. He just never stopped finding cool ways to do things and he’s just brilliant to watch, especially when he’s dancing, but even when he’s doing drama or being silly! He’s one of those guys who could genuinely do it all and just radiates charisma through the screen, literally an #icon in every sense of the word.
This is round 4 of the bracket. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage man.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Jeremy Brett propaganda:
"according to critic Kenneth Tynan a 'too beautiful' Hamlet."
“Please take my humble offering of propaganda for bisexual icon ✨️Jeremy Brett✨️ and his early career!"
"he’s such a himbo sunshine boy in my fair lady"
“not technically propaganda because it won’t let me save the images but just found out my bi king jeremy brett played patroclus https://www.jeremy-brett.fr/crbst_183.html and also apparently dorian gray in the 60s and basil hallward in the 70s?? range.”
"...as a dashing D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers (1966/67) (Duelling is no problem! XD)”
“dropping to sleep - Jeremy is far too handsome to play d'art and also too tall, lol”
Gene Kelly propaganda:

"he was genuinely kind and supportive to judy garland when she was going through a rough time. she was having heavy trauma/addiction responses in 'Summer Stock' which led to her being late all the time and being too scared to come on set, and he actually faked twisting his ankle to distract everyone from her and give her some time off! so yeah, maybe he was a hardass, but when his friend needed him he was 100% there for her, and I think that's worth noting."

Isagi Yoichi
You and Isagi just had your first real date.
It went wonderfully, and he was so sweet, too. He picked you up, paid for dinner, walked you home, held your hand (for the first time, actually), and gave you a smile that made your stomach do a stupid flip.
Everything was perfect. He was perfect.
Hot. Financially stable. Tall (enough). A gentleman. He had you swooning the whole night.
Until he texted you this.
Yoichi
hi! just wanted to say i had a great time!
also uh pls dont be mad
but can you fill this out when youre free???
[Date Debrief : Strengths and Areas for Improvement – Google Form]
You opened it out of curiosity. You shouldn't have. But you did.
And it was dead serious.
Date Debrief : Strengths and Areas for Improvement
by:- Isagi Yoichi (aka your #1 striker)
1. On a scale of 1 to 10, how punctual was I?
○ [ ] 1 – You were late and I thought you ghosted me.
○ [ ] 10 – You showed up like a protagonist in a shojou anime. I will marry you.
2. Did I talk about soccer too much?
○ [ ] – Yes
○ [ ] – No, but you came close to it.
○ [ ] – What do you mean "too much"? You gave tactical analysis on the waiter's footwork.
3. What was your favorite part of the date? (select all that apply)
○ [ ] The food
○ [ ] The walk home
○ [ ] The part where you got flustered trying to hold my hand
○ [ ] When you said "I'm not competitive" and then raced me to the side walk.
○ [ ] The moment where I realized you're my endgame and not just a side quest.
4. Areas for Improvement? (short answer)
There was a sample response in italics:-
[You could've complimented me more than hyper analyzing why we were both such a perfect match with information from trusted sources like my best friend. Also, maybe don't stare at my thighs as much next time.]
5. Would you go on another date with me?
○ [ ] Yes
○ [ ] HELL YEAH
○ [ ] Fill in this response with excessive emotional detail so I can reread it later and scream into my pillow.
You fill it out and sumbit it. He answers less than 45 seconds later.
Yoichi
okay so based on the data
i think i can increase hand holding frequency by 69% next time
also i wont call the kiss a 'strategic breakthrough' again
promise

u/ @beepbopzlorp :- Akqnshwkbwoq YTA but in a loving way????? Bro thinks he's dating a football LMFAOOO
Oliver Aiku
You and Aiku are in the middle of yet another mild argument.
Nothing dramatic, only you calmly explaining that maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't be flirting with the barista while holding your hand.
You're standing in the middle of your living room, arms crossed and frustration building.
"I feel like... if we're dating, there should be some boundaries. Like mutual respect? Is that crazy?" you frown at him.
Oliver casually runs a hand through his hair, and it's clear from his expression that he is barely listening.
"Mhmm. Totally. Mutual. Absolutely, babe," he yawns, turning his head to the side.
"Oliver! You don't even listen to me! Do I matter at all to you?"
"Babe, I was listening. Why do you have to be so–"
Just then, Oliver catches a glimpse of himself in the hallway mirror.
Shirtless. Slight sheen of sweat from training. Hair artfully messy.
He pauses. The room goes silent. His brow raises.
Then he flexes.
Right there. Mid argument. Slow and practiced. Left bicep. Right bicep. Abs. He's admiring the way the light was hitting him as if he was in a cologne commercial.
You pause. Your soul leaves your body.
"Are you... serious?"
He doesn't even seem ashamed. "Babe, I'm not even trying to be hot. It's just happening. Naturally."
You scowl at him. Where does he get the audacity from?
"You forgot what I was mad about, didn't you?"
He thinks for a moment. "...Was it jealousy? I don't blame you, it's a natural response to greatness."
Frustrated, you leave the room and he calls out for you.
"Don't go! I was gonna hit a back flex next!"

Hello! I really like your fic(s. All the Wrong Space stuff is so cool) and I would like to present you with the information on how to put images in Ao3 (and do any other cool thing with code if you want)!
HTML Images
^This^ is a link to a website (www.w3schools.com) that provides tutorials on how to use HTML (what Ao3 uses 🎉Truthfully, most, if not all, websites use HTML, Ao3 just lets us interact with it/use it in the site). This specific link will lead you directly to the tutorial for placing images inside a web page.
Important note: Because you cannot upload images to Ao3, whatever image you want to put in your fic must already be posted somewhere else on the internet. The instructions for that are under the heading "Images on Another Server/Website"
You can also use HTML to put images, italics, bold, strike throughs, and other text stuff in comments!

So this is what Hot Rod looks like in the fic! Mostly, anyway, just slap some gaudy flame designs on there and you've got him :)
#I was going to put this in the comments but links don't work there lol#HTML and CSS are how people do stuff like creator's style and work skins too#Creature Hot Rod is such a vibe

NGC 6164: A Dragon's Egg Image Credit & Copyright: Daniel Stern
Explanation: Beautiful emission nebula NGC 6164 was created by a rare, hot, luminous O-type star, some 40 times as massive as the Sun. Seen at the center of the cosmic cloud, the star is a mere 3 to 4 million years old. In another three to four million years the massive star will end its life in a supernova explosion. Spanning around 4 light-years, the nebula itself has a bipolar symmetry. That makes it similar in appearance to more common and familiar planetary nebulae - the gaseous shrouds surrounding dying sun-like stars. Also like many planetary nebulae, NGC 6164 has been found to have an extensive, faint halo, revealed in this deep image of the region. Expanding into the surrounding interstellar medium, the material in the halo is likely from an earlier active phase of the O star. This gorgeous telescopic view is a composite of extensive narrow-band image data, highlighting glowing atomic hydrogen gas in red and oxygen in greenish hues, with broad-band data for the surrounding starfield. Also known as the Dragon's Egg nebula, NGC 6164 is 4,200 light-years away in the right-angled southern constellation of Norma.
