(On my shit again, already on my second watching of VMF today...immediately after finishing the first) --- "So this is what's become of grocery shopping, has it?" 'Rather than stay in the confines of his workshop, Wallace has decided to venture into town for a spot of supply gathering. Similar to forgetting what it was like to use a manual teapot, he's now having to get up to speed with the steady gentrification of West Wallaby town centre. Large store chains are replacing the local family-owned markets as stalls themselves become a weekly occurrence in the form of pop-up vendors and overpriced knick-knacks. Anything homegrown is either classed as organic or unfit to sell without proper licensing, life as he knows it is changing, and Wallace is still accepting the grim reality of capitalism' "Duddly and Sons got bought out last year, Sparks & Mencer took over the space soon as they received the go ahead. Same thing's happened to everybody except Wendolene, Harrison and Alice, but even she's on the way out the way they're pushing things" "It's criminal! Someone ought to stand up for the non-commercial! They're going to ruin West Wallaby at this rate! You mark my words!" "Marked and accounted for, Mr Wallace! Now can we focus on this list? It is my turn to shop for us this week and if I forget Gromit's hummas again, he is certain to poison my granola" 'Journeying through the denser populated parts of the town, the inventor is surprised to see how many of his local haunts have either closed down to await renovation for new rental agreements or already found themselves replaced by pop up venues, organic coffee suppliers, vegetable juicers, fruit smoothie cafes, reasons to print money and introduce a younger, boho type to the area. Soon enough the two have mainly what they've come for, and are preparing to grab the last few items when a casually dressed, heavily pierced woman somewhere around DL's age appears and walks straight up to them, almost excited to see the pair as she clomps over in her platform sandals' "Aye-Up, Rooster! Been looking for you. Guess what" 'Wallace recognises this girl, she used to be strawberry blonde, long hair always platted, fair skinned with freckles all over her plump face and braces to correct the slight overbite in her jaw. Now she's about three dress sizes smaller then she used to be, wearing oversized shirts, ripped jeans, several types of metal adorning her features and hair a sickly chemical green. This used to be Franny Cromwell' "Hmmmm, I dunno...You finally got promoted to head piercer" "That too, BUT! ...check out my arm" 'She rubs her left forearm until it reddens, highlighting a glittery shine to her numourous tattoos' "No...YOU GOT THE EVER SPARKLE INK! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT FOR MONTHS!" "It just came in...I can book you for thursday. What do you say?" "Oooooohh, Baby! I'd love to!" 'Wallace clears his throat, pursing his lips in a disapproving display' "Got a cough there, Grandpa? As I was saying, Love to...But I have a thing thursday. How about we arrange something for later on in the month. Just got some stuff going on and I can't be all wrapped up" "Of course, just gimme a call when you're ready to be booked in" 'For a minute it seems like the conversation is about to end there, yet Franny stays in her spot, rocking as if she's in on someone's dirty little secret' "Soooo?" "So?" "Who is she?" "...I'm sorry what?" (PART 2 ON THE WAYYYYY)

PROMPTS FROM ZOMBIES (pt. 1) Assorted dialogue from the 2018 Disney Channel Original Movie. Feel free to adjust pronouns, etc.
Stop teasing her.
Just do something.
This is empty.
There's nothing back here.
Are we still friends?
I'm on the football team.
Are you okay?
I've always wanted to come here.
My plan is working.
I'm not a monster.
I was out with a boy.
Now who exactly is this boy?
I have to go, I'm late for class.
A human, here?
We don't clap for cheerleaders.
You want a piece of me?
Do you wear corrective lenses?
Is that an overbite?
Is one leg longer than the other?
Are you coming to the meeting?
We really needed a win.
So, you like a girl with brains?
You know that's super offensive.
So how do we stop the monster from eating our brains?
Zombies are not safe.
they can't make me hide it anymore.
I'm not leaving this seat.
Get off of me, you big lug!
Where are you taking him?
I'm sick of waiting.
Your father and I have been so worried.
I will tell nobody.
I swear on all that I hold dear, mostly glitter lip balm,
Well, deep fry me and dip me in cocktail sauce.
"I could get in so much trouble."
I'm a totally normal teen.
Doctors can't explain it.
Do we need to take a trip downtown?
People love me, okay?
There's no fire!
You're not hideous at all.

If one decides to start a creative project about their favorite thing, be it fanart, fanfic, fangame etc. , which approach do you prefer, the creatives involved fully dedicating themselves to recreating and recapturing what made the original works...work, or make an active choice to be derivative (this doesn't mean artists are ignorant about the original material, not necessarily) How do you feel about either, and are there any other approach you can think of?
There's this guy who used to post at SFGHQ named Sam Beddoes who now runs Freakzone Games. He's made the official Manos: The Hands of Fate game, he did both AVGN Adventures, he's the project lead on that Toxic Crusaders beat'em'up, etc.
But he's an old guard Sonic head and I've heard him turn up on a couple of Sonic podcasts, specifically to talk fangames, and by his account he got really fed up with the Sonic fangaming scene when everybody became obsessed with perfectly replicating the Genesis games, because to him, all the creativity and magic went away.
I remember hearing that and both agreeing and disagreeing with him. And I have enough thoughts about it that I've actually considered doing a video about it, and about fangaming overall.
I think there is a stigma to replicating something perfectly that's very adjacent to people who are concerned about young artists who start out by tracing pictures other people have drawn. Plagiarism is a real, legitimate problem. But it's only a problem if you lie about tracing.
I'm of the mind that if you're starting out drawing, half the problem is just learning control. Tracing can be a valuable tool in helping you to understand hand motions and give you a perspective on the construction of an image. For the earliest beginners, I don't think there's any shame in starting out by tracing. It's building muscle memory. Just don't say you drew it.
Similarly, my game development skills went way, way, way up about the time I started to analyze and perfectly replicate existing games. Like, the long canceled Sonic Forever project used an early enough version of the Sonic Worlds codebase that I had to read the Sonic Retro Physics Guide and use their data on how to add Knuckles in from scratch. My code matched how he worked in the Genesis games almost 1:1, because it was largely me just interpreting the values into something Clickteam Fusion could understand.
Something similar happened when, in 2012, I started (and never finished) a remake of my famous Mario Blue Twilight DX fangame. That's when I started really paying attention to how the source games worked so I could get a better sense of how a Mario game needed to "feel" in order to be correct.
And that trend continued with every fangame project I worked on following that, like when I figured I could make my own version of Sonic 2's Hidden Palace Zone, since I wasn't happy with the Retro Engine version. The idea was to be accurate above all else. In some cases, I'd even watch recordings of official gameplay in slow motion just so I could see exactly how the game was created, and in some cases, count frame by frame the duration of certain actions.
And all of this just makes me think of when I showed a friend my game jam game, OverBite. He complimented me on how nice the controls felt, in that kind of backhanded way where he said "When did you learn to make games feel so nice?"
Because if you go back to those really early games of mine, they all feel like garbage to control. And I attribute it to putting in a lot of time pulling apart the nuts and bolts of real retro games and putting a microscope up to why they work the way they do. Deconstructing all of their little nuances and sub-states and then trying to put it all back together again in a different programming language.
You learn a lot when you're forced to stop and understand why a piece of code exists in the way it does. Why there are all these little edge cases that you never notice but still exist to make a game feel just a little better.
At the end of the day, yes, Sam was right. Games need to have creativity and seeking out the perfect replication of the Sega Genesis Sonic games can feel somewhat futile. Every SAGE for the last ten years, there will be at least three games that instantly vanish from my memory because they are basic, plain Sonic Worlds Delta fangames with no style of their own. They just want to make Sonic 4 and we've had a lot of different Sonic 4s by now.
But the thing about learning is, you gotta learn the rules before you learn why and where to break them, because breaking (or at least bending) all of those boring, standardized rules is where your personal style starts to emerge, and that personal style is ultimately what people are going to be interested in at the end of the day.
So I think it is vitally important to start at 1:1 exact recreation and once you've made a comfortable replica, only then should you start asking yourself what you'd change and why. Make sure you understand the material before venturing further. You gotta learn to do it right first.

How Fast Can I Get Straight Teeth? A Complete Timeline
The desire for straight, perfectly aligned teeth is one of the most common reasons people seek orthodontic treatment. Whether it’s to improve your smile or to correct dental issues like an overbite, underbite, or overcrowding, straightening your teeth can significantly enhance your confidence and oral health. However, one of the most frequently asked questions when considering orthodontic treatment is: How fast can I get straight teeth?
While the answer to this question varies depending on multiple factors, including your age, the type of treatment, the severity of your dental issues, and your compliance with your orthodontist’s instructions, this comprehensive guide will provide you with a detailed timeline, factors affecting the speed of treatment, and what you can expect during your journey to a straighter smile.
Factors That Affect How Fast You Can Get Straight Teeth
Before diving into the timeline for straightening your teeth, it’s important to understand the factors that can influence how quickly you will achieve your desired results. While some individuals may achieve straight teeth in as little as six months, others may take longer. These factors include:
1. Age
Age plays a significant role in the speed of orthodontic treatment. Younger patients, especially children and teenagers, tend to experience faster results compared to adults. This is because younger individuals still have developing bones, making their teeth and jaw more flexible and responsive to movement.
Children and Teens: Orthodontic treatment in younger patients usually results in faster tooth movement. The bones of the mouth are still growing, so it’s easier to shift the teeth into the correct position.
Adults: For adults, the process may take longer because the bone structure is fully developed. Adults also often have denser bone tissue, which can slow down tooth movement. However, with the advancements in modern orthodontics, adults can still achieve excellent results with the right treatment.
2. Type of Orthodontic Treatment
There are several different types of orthodontic treatments available, and the method you choose will significantly impact how quickly you achieve straight teeth. The most common options include:
Traditional Metal Braces: These are the most widely used and effective type of braces. They typically take anywhere from 12 to 24 months to straighten teeth, depending on the complexity of your case. Traditional metal braces work by applying continuous pressure to your teeth, gradually moving them into the desired position.
Clear Braces (Ceramic Braces): Clear braces work similarly to traditional metal braces, but they are made from ceramic materials, which makes them less noticeable. The treatment time is similar to that of metal braces, typically ranging from 12 to 24 months.
Invisalign (Clear Aligners): Invisalign is a popular choice for those seeking a more discreet treatment option. These clear, removable aligners are custom-made to fit your teeth and gradually move them into alignment. Invisalign treatment usually takes between 6 to 18 months, depending on the severity of your dental issues. However, Invisalign may be less effective for complex cases that require significant tooth movement.
Lingual Braces: Lingual braces are placed on the back of your teeth, making them less visible. The treatment time for lingual braces is usually similar to traditional braces, but they can take slightly longer due to their positioning and the need for frequent adjustments.
3. Severity of the Dental Issue
The severity of your dental misalignment plays a critical role in determining how long it will take to straighten your teeth. Mild to moderate cases of misalignment typically take less time to correct than more severe issues, such as large gaps, overbites, underbites, or significant overcrowding.
Mild Misalignment: If your teeth are only slightly crooked or misaligned, treatment can often be completed in as little as 6 to 12 months. Aligners like Invisalign can be particularly effective for mild cases.
Moderate to Severe Misalignment: If you have significant dental issues, such as an overbite, underbite, or severe crowding, you may require more intensive treatment. This could take 18 months or longer, depending on the complexity of your case. In some cases, additional treatments such as extractions, rubber bands, or other appliances may be required, which can add to the overall treatment time.
4. Patient Compliance
Your commitment to following your orthodontist’s instructions can also affect the speed of your treatment. This includes wearing your braces or aligners as directed, attending regular appointments for adjustments, and maintaining proper oral hygiene. Non-compliance can lead to delays or complications that extend the treatment timeline.
For example:
Braces: You must wear your braces for the entire duration of the treatment and attend regular appointments for adjustments. Missing appointments or failing to follow your orthodontist’s instructions can slow down the process.
Invisalign: Invisalign aligners need to be worn for at least 20 to 22 hours a day. If you fail to wear them as directed, your treatment may take longer. Additionally, aligners need to be changed regularly, typically every 1 to 2 weeks, to ensure the treatment is progressing effectively.
5. Frequency of Orthodontic Visits
Regular checkups and adjustments are critical to ensuring your orthodontic treatment stays on track. Most orthodontic patients need to visit their orthodontist every 4 to 6 weeks for checkups and adjustments. Missing these appointments or delays in receiving adjustments could lengthen the overall treatment time.
6. Oral Hygiene and Health
Good oral hygiene is essential during orthodontic treatment. If you don’t take proper care of your braces or aligners, you may experience problems such as cavities or gum disease, which could delay treatment. It’s important to brush your teeth thoroughly and floss regularly to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
General Timeline for Getting Straight Teeth
Now that you understand the factors that can affect the speed of your treatment, let’s explore a general timeline for getting straight teeth, based on the type of treatment you choose.
1. Mild Misalignment (6 to 12 Months)
If you have mild misalignment or only a few crooked teeth, your orthodontic treatment may take as little as 6 to 12 months. Treatment options such as Invisalign, clear braces, or even clear aligners can effectively address these issues in a relatively short period.
2. Moderate Misalignment (12 to 18 Months)
For moderate cases of misalignment, such as teeth that are slightly crowded or have small gaps, treatment may take between 12 and 18 months. Traditional braces, clear braces, or Invisalign aligners are all effective options for moderate cases.
3. Severe Misalignment (18 to 24+ Months)
If your misalignment is more severe, such as significant overcrowding, bite issues, or gaps between your teeth, treatment may take 18 months or longer. Traditional metal braces are often the best solution for severe cases, but depending on your situation, you may also need additional procedures or appliances, which could extend the treatment time.
What You Can Expect During Your Treatment
During your orthodontic treatment, you can expect several key stages:
1. Consultation and Planning
The first step is a consultation with your orthodontist. During this visit, the orthodontist will assess your teeth, discuss your treatment options, and create a personalized treatment plan. X-rays, impressions, or 3D scans of your teeth will likely be taken to help design your braces or aligners.
2. Installation of Braces or Aligners
Once your treatment plan is in place, your braces or aligners will be installed. For traditional braces, this involves bonding brackets to your teeth and threading a wire through them. For Invisalign, you’ll be given your first set of custom aligners.
3. Regular Adjustments
Throughout your treatment, you’ll need to visit your orthodontist regularly for adjustments. For braces, this involves tightening the wires, replacing rubber bands, or making other modifications to ensure your teeth are moving as planned. For Invisalign, you’ll receive new sets of aligners to continue the progress.
4. Retainers
Once your braces are removed or your aligners are complete, you’ll likely need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in their new positions. Retainers help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions. You will be instructed on how often and for how long to wear your retainer.
Conclusion
The time it takes to get straight teeth varies from person to person, but the typical timeline for orthodontic treatment ranges from 6 to 24 months. The speed of your treatment depends on several factors, including the severity of your misalignment, the type of orthodontic treatment you choose, your age, and your level of compliance with your orthodontist’s instructions.
To achieve the best results, it’s important to work closely with your orthodontist, follow their recommendations, and maintain good oral hygiene. With the right treatment plan and commitment, you’ll soon have the straight, beautiful smile you’ve always desired!

<<<<<<Previous Chapter | Next Chapter>>>>>>>

"You like this hot sauce?" Seonghwa smiled, looking at the label of the sauce. "Me too." He walked to your small dinning table and placed down the hard bottle on its cold surface.
"I made dinner, 'want some?"
You stood there, staring at him. Now finally seeing his face in better lighting, you could say he's definitely a visual. Handsome. But you didn't let that fool you. Marshmallow stopped barking, now sitting up right with her overbite and her tongue sticking out of the side of her mouth.
"Macaroni and cheese..." his back now facing you, walking into your kitchen, looking for something.
You only stared at him- no- glared with wide eyes at his figure in your kitchen. You weren't only just confused, he did just used your last macaroni bag.
"Only one fork...?" He asked, turning to face you, holding up the utensil. Your heart skipped a beat when you both made eye contact. You watched his eyebrows rise, arms crossed, leaning back against the counter. Still staring at him with wide eyes filled with confusion.
"I'm one person..." you stated with a straight face.
He hummed. "Hm... good point..." he corrected his posture, turning once more to grab your wooden fork and spoon in a small plastic wrap you received from all of the restaurants you've ate at. Walking towards you and closer to the dinning table, he gestured his hand to the opposite seat in front of him.
"Sit." He demanded.
Blinking, stunned. This man probably saved your life (if you recall) in the parking garage nearly 5 months ago and disappeared like an ant in a hurricane. The police got no records of what happened the night you were hospitalized. The fact that you lived was all the police seemed to cared about. Finding whoever done it, went cold quickly. Now he's here in your apartment, making dinner. Macaroni and cheese. Do you know how long that takes to make?
Silence stood between you two, pointing to him with your arm still low, "How...how did you even get in here," you asked in a small voice, dodging anything he said before.
"The front door, Jagiya."
That explains the sudden temperature change.
You stared at him with big eyes, silence still lingering in the air. Till you squeezed your eyes and rubbed them in frustration and full befuddled. "Hey, listen..." you started again still rubbing your eyes almost as if you were still questioning if the man in front of you is real.
"I'm... I'm not going to have dinner with you after-"
"After?"
"After you tired to kill me, then break into my apartment with the audacity to made yourself dinner with the- MY last bag of macaroni-"
His eyebrows furrowed, placing the fork into his hot cooked food.
"Number one, last time I remember, I saved your life. Two, I did not break into your home- you live on the 30th floor and you have terrible placement for your back up key. And third.." he stopped, placing his hand on his hip. "I'm not here to hurt you... look!" He stands up straight. "I have no weapons on me..."
Your eyebrows raised and your still wide e/c wondered to his hip. His belt. His harnesses. Silence lingered in the air before Seonghwa followed your eyes.
Two guns and a large dagger sat on the side of his hips as his shirt rises revealing a small part of his abdomen.
He looks up to meet your wide confusion eyes. You turned your head slightly but your eyes are still on him, giving him a small side eye.
"Ok... I don't have any weapons in my hands at the moment..." your eyes scanned his hands. His long fingers having defending rings around each finger.
"Ok... I get it but-"
"If you wanted to kill me you would've done it already...." You cut him off.
"Yup."
You pointed to the door.
"Because I walked through the door-"
"Exactly-"
"And you were behind me..."
"Right."
You sighed, letting your arm fall to your side. "O...kay..." was all you said as he sat down and poured the hot sauce you threw at him earlier into his food. "Do you like spicy food?"
"No."
"Huh..?"
"Yes."
"oh..?"
He stopped, putting down the bottle right when you joined him.
You watched him. His face. HIS FACE. How can someone be so angelic, handsome, pretty but also menacing at the same time? But you kept a stable mindset. This man could kill you in a heartbeat. You can tell he killed people. Shot guns. In this day of age, with the witches, gods, and, aliens running around, he probably flown an aircraft. You sat there looking and scanning his face, his hands as he mixes his food. 'He's handsome. Definitely seduces people. Women and men-'
"So!" He snapped you out of your thoughts.
"Do you wanna join?" He asked, taking a bite of his food. 'He doesn't even eat messy, Jeez. Is he a model or an assassin?'
"..." you continue to stare at him with big judging eyes. To be honesty, you felt like shit. Your clothes that were your size looked like they were twice your size. You needed to take your meds because you forgot earlier today but now your mind is focused on the threat in your home. You had small eye bags. But in a sense, it made your eyes look like a doll to him.
Seonghwa seen those type of eyes. Tiredness. But they weren't just topical 'tired' eyes, they were eyes that were eyes of guilt. A runaway. They hold so much and sometimes on their breaking point. You were close to those types.
"I know you can talk you know...?" He teased, putting down his utensil.
"...." You opened then closed your mouth, avoiding eye contact and biting on your lip, making them go thin. You shook your thigh up and down unable to load the stress building up in your chest.
.
"..."
.
. "I just heard your voice."
He tilted his head in hope of catching your gaze, which he did. "Your Korean is really good, how long do you study for?"
"..."
"..."
You both stared at eachother for a couple of seconds. Your eyes still slightly wide while the handsome male wore a small smug. Which you did yourself a favour and looked down to your lap. "...Nearly 6 years.."
"Ah.." he nodded.
Silence lingered for a couple moments again. You bounced your leg up and down even more as an attempt to calm your heartbeat. Fidgeting with your rolling anxiety ring.
Seonghwa on the other hand, couldn't enjoy his food. He could sense you're tensed, Stressed- uncomfortable. If he was gonna get a conversation going, he's going to have to gain your trust and to do that he'll have to make himself vulnerable. Sighing he stood up.
The sound of your dinning chair flinched you to look back at him. You stared up at him with large worrisome eyes. Leaning back stiffly, shoulder up and gripping the seat. He's a threat and when you're vulnerable, you listen to the threat till you see an opening. But as time flies, you can see your opening is getting smaller and smaller-
Three heavy thumbs caught your attention. Running your eyes back to the dinning table to see he had dropped his weapons in the middle of the table. Two large hand guns and that insanely large dagger.
The guns were full pitch black. They look almost soft and less metallic. They looked to be specially made for him and him only because of the engraved signature on the handles.
Now your opening was semi-wide, but you weren't taking any chances. Aliens, witches, sorcerers, mutants, you name it exists in this day & age- for all you know, this man- Seonghwa, could blast you with one of those 'pathic' powers.
"Do you trust me now?" The sudden change of tone in his voice gave you a sign that he was getting serious. It was deep and sharp, almost a slap to the face.
You shrugged. "...you..." you pointed up for second before dropping your arm back onto your lap. "...you still got your rings..." you informed. Which, unexpectedly made him smile a bit before sitting back down.
He must've thought to was some kind of joke cause he didn't try to take them. You mean, he's going to have to get closer to certainly use those.
"Let's talk, L/n."
After a deep conversation of mostly Seonghwa talking, you found out the people involved of your hospitalization were originally supposed to kill to fuel their enemies out of hiding or vice versa and you were wrongly linked to it. As to how? He didn't know. You only stare at him and listen to his words. Some information going into one ear and exiting out the other, you did forget to take your adhd medication. As to how you were chosen, was left to the General to explain. He knows, you know for a fact that he knows and is leaving you on a string and a dirty ass kitchen.
"When the General visited you in the hospital a couple months ago, someone saw them exiting your room," your raised an eyebrow. "That person is a part of a group, a dangerous group, they'll do anything to get what they want and you're on their list." He said in a serious tone, the rest of his food getting cold. His gaze was cold.
"Do they want to kill me?"
"Yeah... kinda... they believe you have information or work under our service... so you got another target on you, this one is a serious one," he spoke, leaning closer to you. So the other one wasn't?
"Are you here to kill me?" You asked more quietly.
You watch his tongue make a bulge through the inside of his cheek. And sigh left his nose as he crossed his arm tightly around his chest.
"If I was here to do that, I would be well on my way back home by now." He started.
"But... I can, if you want?"
You furrowed your brows.
"I'm sorry what?-"
"If you want."
"Kill me?"
"Yeah.."
You tilted your head up, eyes still on him.
"You're-" you started again.
A smile started to form in his lips as the silence held again.
"You're weird..."
You heard him snort softly.
"Also, I'm here to tell you that your application expired..." he informed, turning his head to eye your tall shelf in a distance.
You blinked. He just dismissed the fact you're targeted by a group that's enemies of his organization, and now suddenly your shelf looks more amusing.
"No offence but... I never applied," you mumbled but he heard it. "That's..." Seonghwa pointed to you before standing up. "A fair point...but," your eyes followed his form walk into your living room to the shelves beside your small tv. One hand still in his pocket and the other reached over to your shelf full of souvenirs.
Many photo displayed on the black painted shelves. Many of them were family and friends. Crystals and minerals from different places you've been. Family- your biological and adoptive parent(s). Friends- There was a photo of you smiling while holding a bow and posing for a photo beside-
"Don't touch that.." You gasped, getting up from your chair and running around your couch, ripping it out of his grip and hiding it behind your back.
But he's quicker. Before you could step away from him, he grabbed your wrist, stopping you from walking away from him. "Give it," he demanded, his other hand gesturing for you to get it back to him.
"You-"
"I don't like to ask twice..."
You attempted to rip your wrist from his grip but he didn't even flinch. He was stiff. His hand continuing to gestured for the photo repeatedly. "The hell..?" You said in confusion. Something was not right. He's crazy strong. Like someone familiar. You stopped squirming and looked into his eyes, taking a step closer, your shoes nearly touching his.
Your wide tired eyes looking into his as if you were trying to find something in them. You didn't want to believe it. There were a few people in the world with the ability. You only met two in your life, and now your wrist is in the hands of another one. You remember Sam and Bucky had some terrible with some individuals who held similar abilities. Which leaves you to question how many people does this organization recruite?
After a couple of seconds, your panicking dead down. "You're a..." you paused trying to find the right words "one of those people... a- I think a super-solider..?" For a second his eyes widen a bit before returning to its nearly half hooded look.
"Looks like we underestimated eachother," he murmured under his breath before a small smug appeared on his lips again and releasing your wrist. Immediately you created some distance between you both and checked of on your wrist in case if you needed to take a trip to the emergency. You heard him sigh.
"I've gotta go..." Seonghwa said after checking his watch, walking past you. He held up his dress shirt before the knife and guns on the dinner table flew towards him with ease and securing itself in his harness in seconds.
"Thanks for the dinner, and..."
"wha..." you pointed to the table, then back at him. "Huh.."
"Good talk, F/n..."
"Wha... how do you...," you only eye him as he walked to your large window and effortlessly yanking it open.
You could never open that window.
Seonghwa let the cold night air into the small apartment, stepping onto the windowsill, he turned to face you. "Your Uber is a nice guy, you're gonna like him."
You blinked. "I'm sorry... Uber..?" He flashed you a smile, raising his hand and holding the photo in between his long fingers. "Trust no one from now on and... A photo and a autograph with Tony Stark... wow.."
Looking down quickly you saw you only held the frame and the photo was no longer there. Turning it quickly to see the back clips barely hanging on.
"How did you-" looking back up to your window, your eyes only landed on the buildings in a distance and the window left opened wide.
"Do that...?"
THREE DAYS LATER—————>
"Come on..." you squealed at Marshmallow whose tail was wagging nonstop. She barked in excitement when you pulled out the walk leash back in the apartment.
You're walking in the park where a small festival took place. You thought about the words the male told you so you thought the best way to forget and avoid them is to place yourself in an environment where it would be hard for them to capture you. You wanted nothing but to enjoyed your home, locking yourself in your bedroom and distant yourself from the loud world but if it means to not get kidnapped and killed by another dangerous gang, so be it.
It has been 3 days since Mr. Park made an appearance in your home. Your 'Uber' was nowhere to be seen. You didn't even say yes or no to the acceptance but you were definitely scared about the people that were after you. He brushed it off like it was nothing. Your guess is that he knows how far they are from knowing who you are. Knowing where you live or how you look like. You hope that's the case, cause now, you kinda want that 'Uber' would show up. You couldn't sleep since then- honestly- you haven't been sleeping well since the night of your accident. Living near streets where traffic is heavy, gives you flashes of what happened on that night.
Therapy did something, yes. But it didn't help your PTSD. Cut yourself some slack, you had it since your parents were buried under pounds of rubble. After you left New York and moved to Korea, storms, rain, and thunder became less comforting and more terrifying.
Wait-
You noticed a familiar figure standing near the large body of water, watching the small boats sail by. Slowly approaching the figure you peeking beside him (with distance), wanted to see his face first.
"Are you stalking me?" You asked, walking up to the mysterious person but stood a couple meters away from him. He chuckled.
You looked around, opening your mouth, "are all of you this weird..."
Seonghwa still faced to rivers direction.
"Are you the one picking me up?"
You heard him sigh and rise to straighten himself up.
"No," Seonghwa said, raising his body before turning to you while backing away slowly. "Be careful, F/n..." is all he said before turning around and walked away. "Wait-" you called but he continued to walk away from you without a second thought.
You're nothing but a corpse as soon as they get their hands on you. Seonghwa didn't even know why he followed you from your apartment to the park. He knew that Nuclear would strike at any given moment, snatching you in seconds to spare. He couldn't let that happen. Not that he wanted it to happen, he could let it but the orders he's given would say otherwise.
You could only watch him disappear behind the passing people like a phantom. Mysterious that one. You kinda find him weird though, hella handsome. First name bases? And he calls you jagiya. What's up with that? You not too sure if he means in a 'baby' way or a calling/gesture. Your thoughts ran as you walked the opposite way and mumbled words under your breath as if you were trying to solve a puzzle. It felt like you were. Attempting to put everything together.
So they fucked up and linked to you instead some how or someone was targeting you in the agency and now that the general visited you in the hospital, someone saw her and now you have another target on you because they think you're apart of the same organization. So now they're trying to get their hands on you. So its a tug of war or first-comes first serve. Also you're a tool to hopefully aid them except one of them wants to protect you and the other wants to kill you.
That's kinda bullshit.
You stopped by a bush to let Marshmallow pee as you pointed to the air like you were piecing back together a puzzle. To other people, you looked drunk.
Maybe if you turn yourself in, no one would have to get hurt. You didn't even get the choice to pick to go or not. You're so lost in your thoughts that you didn't immediately notice a stinging pain shoot through your neck. It took you a couple of seconds to process what had happened. You choked and reached up to feel a dart drilled into your bare neck.
Quickly turning around to scan your surroundings, your eyes fell on a female in a distance with a tranquilizer. You watched her approach you just as you pulled out the dart from your warm neck.
"We have a lot of questions for you..." a woman spoke, before placing her hand on your shoulder. You breathed heavily, trying to keep yourself up on your feet and whimpered as a response. Your body felt numb. Gripping your chest tightly feeling your lungs give, you fell on your rear and coughed aggressively.
She smiled before pressing on her earpiece. "I have her-" her head flinched back, your eyes widen at the hole in the middle of her forehead. Blood squirted from the crimson hole and ran down her pale skin before her body went limp and fell backwards, her body landing in a dramatic thud and got trampled by the scared running people.
You had your fair share of blood and gore, but the site of this made you want to scream. And you did. Your screams blending into the crowds panicking and Marshmallow barking started to become muffled.
"HE HAS A GUN!" Someone yelled right when the sudden crowd of people yelled and screamed away from the bright colours of the festival. Parents grabbing their children, people ran to their cars.
There were a lot of people out today, it created a great distraction. No one would see you get kidnapped. 'They'll do anything to get what they want' you remembered Seonghwa's words the night you talked.
You panicked. Past you would've ran or seen the woman earlier but you froze and now staring with wide eyes at the dead lady who was just talking to you. If had your bow- the thing is, you don't. You don't have anything. You dropped everything nearly a year ago. Guns were nothing to you now you're scared of them more than ever. You're were a fighter and now you're nothing but a scared civilian.
The panic. The chaos. The screaming. It reminded you of the past you paid hundreds of dollars for therapy to forget about it, and even that wasn't enough.
You body felt hot. Your arms anchoring your body upright began to give. You had no idea what was in the dart, probably something to knock you out as your eyes uncontrollably began to roll up before closing.
Except your body didn't hit the ground. No, a warm arm slithered around your waist and tossing your arm around their shoulders. Rising to your feet, you found the mysterious person holding you was a tall male. Your ears were ringing so his words were nothing but a distant murmur. Running through the crowd and onto the road the male stopped behind a black Jaguar vehicle. He unhooked you arms, unlocking the vehicle.
This how you-
"Can you hear me-" his voice suddenly reaching you as he grabs your face, his large hand caressing your heated cheeks. You muttered jiberesh before letting out a small chuckle.
You suddenly felt... great? The rush of adrenaline leaving your body. Your head fuzzy. You felt drunk. Like you could run and jump into the park's fountain just to act silly.
"Oh mom, you're so silly.." you snorted.
The male didn't say anything else before shoving you into the passenger side. Grabbing Marshmallow and threw her in the backseat of the car. Running to the other side and got into the drivers side.
Your breath was heavy and immediately searched for your fanny pack to take out your inhaler. You squirmed uncomfortably in your set and muttered more jiberesh. "Who the hell are you... bring me back home..." you said. The world was spinning and your words were nothing but slurred. "I used to live in New York~"
"My!"
"My~" you repeated.
"Name!"
"Name~"
"Is!"
"Is~"
"Yunho!!"
"...."
"Yun~hoe~" you chuckled, throwing your head back and kicked your legs. Yunho reached over you and put on your seatbelt. "What a... gentle..man.." you commented before Yunho put the car on and put it on drive. "Hold on..." "you don't gonna worry about m- WAHH.." he stomped on the gas pedal, your back hitting your back seat aggressively. "Oww.." you mumbled.
Then you heard it. Shots. Looking into the rear view mirror you found that there were three other vehicles driving just as fast as Yunho. The three other vehicles were large thick black SUV's following closely behind yours. The shots sounded like heavy rain but were muffled due to the car and glass being bulletproof.
"That's not normal- Red light!" You yelled like a child, you have no control of what you're saying or thinking. He drove straight past it, other car from the other lanes stopping in the nick of time.
"Oh my- Mr. Troubleeee~"
"Are you drunk? Were you- oh- were you drugged...?"
"I told you mom, I don't do drugs, I am drugs-"
A bullet suddenly blew the wing mirror right off the black vehicle. Yunho was thankful Yeosang recommended him to take the bullet proof car instead of his own. He'll have to thank him.
"Have you been in a car chase before?" "It's my middle name~" you slurred.
Yunho swerved the car and took a sharp right cutting one car off as it attempted to take the sudden turn but crashed and flipped onto the other road. Yunch looked out your side wing mirror to check. "One down, two to go.." his muttered.
You turned your head after looking into the mirror to double check the flaming vehicle. "Do you just..." you trailed off. "That's illegal..." you paused. "You are my Uber riGht?" Your voice cracked as you asked him the question. "What do you think?" Yunho respond, swerving around other cars on the road to get past.
Your head was not with you. It left empty and hot, like it was on fire. "I think my head's gone!!" You yelled. You never drinked, smoked or used, so this feeling is completely new. "oh Marshmallow- MARSHMALLOW?! Oh no no no!" You waved your hands in the air as if the animal on your lap was nothing but a disease. Yunho spared you a glance. "What's wrong!?" "I kidnapped a doggg!" You whine as Marshmallow found her way to the front of the car. Her tail wagging aggressively. "She's not yours?!" He argued. "I'm a dog sitter!"
Yunho cursed. Not at your kidnapping of the dog but at the traffic the GPS is locating. "Theres been an accident on highway 37, it would add... 20 minutes to your travel." The GPS spoke.
"We'll have to take a detour..." he muttered to him before sharply turning the vehicle into a nearly empty park. The dirt flying everywhere and grass painting the fast moving wheels in a muddy colour.
People panicked and dove out the way from the incoming vehicles. Yunho looked into his mirrors to see the two cars still hot on his tail, he pressed on the gas after driving around while beeping for the people's attention to move out the way and found an exit. The problem? There were automatic bollards that started to rise. Quickly, he pressed on the gas further just in time for the bollards to partly rise as the vehicles behind them crashed straight into them.
"Oh hell yeah!" Yunho yelled in excitement. But it was short lived due to your sudden whining. "Celebrating dude? That's like... breaking the law..." "The law? Honey we are the law!" He yelled back in the same manner and smiled.
"You know! I think me and you are gonna be best friends!"
"I—I...I don't know about that one!" You griped the handle above you and the seat with the other before raising your legs up to support yourself as if he was gonna press on the breaks despite him going over 100/hr.
Your stomach felt like something was moving in it. Clinching it you yelled "I think I'm gonna hurl!" Yunho eyebrows furrowed. "Not here! Oh god not-" suddenly the glass of the back window burst, making the glass fly everywhere. Yunho quickly glanced to the mirrors with wide eyes to see a motorcyclist. They wore full biker gear and their motorcycle pitch black. A male figure sat on the seat with a large black hand gun in his hand, it glowed a bright red colour- Yunho took that into note.
"You know kids should stop throwing rocks..." you snapped Yunho back to reality with your comment. "Rocks? No rock can burst through a bullet proof glass!" Yunho turned the car to dodge another bullet from the unknown gun.
"Or a normal bullet..." he murmured.
You both ducked to dodge the flying bullets making the car swerve uncontrollably. "If Wooyoung haven't taken out the only bullet proof car for a week, I would've gotten here sooner!"
"Who's Wooyoung?" Now driving on the speeded high way, Yunho took the exit to the airport. "Wait- airport? I thought you guys were Korean-based organizationnnn!?" "We are just-" he turn onto a dirt path off the main road, the long sharp branches hitting and scratching the black colour off of the vehicle. "There's no way to get there on wheels!" "GET WHERE!?" "TO OUR BASE L/N!" "Ahh!" You sudden yelled as Yunho drove straight through the a fence, dragging the metal fence under the cars wheels.
"Pass me that box!" He requested. You clumsily pulled on the small yet heavy metal box he pointed to before handing him it. You watched his large veiny hand over power the small box as it suddenly transforms into a what looks like a sci-fi gun. It was similar to what the cyclist used to blast the back window. In a swift motion, Yunho grabbed and turned the wheel till it stopped and hit the break before rolling down the window as the wheels bounced and sparks igniting under the now ruined luxury car.
Aiming to glowing weapon to the incoming cyclist. It happened slowly, you were on the verge of losing consciousness as Yunho fired his gun and in one shot, blew the cyclist and his motorcycle in bits.
Despite feeling like you were falling off a high cliff, you wore a terrifying expression while the male beside you smiled ear to ear. You held Marshmallow tightly as if she was gonna jump out the window. Yunho turned and laughed at your expression. You breathed heavily at the burning motorcycle and side eyed his now large gun-like weapon under his large veiny hand.
"Why... Why are you laughing?" You suddenly ask at him. Your thoughts and questions couldn't stay in, you sweated buckets and your chest tightened every chance given. "Wha?" He wore a fake pouting face and leaned over to you, which made you leaned back away from him, holding Marshmallow closer to you which made her head cover your bottom half of your face.
He stops and smiles, his fluffy black hair covering his eyebrows made his eyes look bigger as he stares deeply into yours. If you were in the right head right now, you would've hopped out already.
'Handsome but an assassin and is extremely dangerous' is what you told yourself meeting Seonghwa back in your apartment. "Now looking at it, to think she wants you," flinching back a bit as he playfully pointed his gun towards you.
You could feel the the hot muzzle approaching closer to your face.
"You looked so strong in that parking lot..." you slightly dropped Marshmallow just for him to see your full face before he smiled, letting a snort escape his throat.
"Definitely becoming best friends."
Wooyoung, Seonghwa, San, and Ji-woo stood on the loading dock of the large plane, waiting for the black Jaguar to turn the corner. "His radio is silent..." Seonghwa informed quietly, having to take his motorcycle to get to the plane before you just as the chaos started.
"His coming." Jiwoo encouraged.
"Or he could've failed and dead for no reason-"
"Watch your words." San warned, cutting Wooyoung off.
"What? he could've-"
"Coming in hot!" Jiwoo yelled as she watched Yunho aggressively turn the corner revealing the black banged up Jaguar. The dirt flying everywhere creating smoking. Yunho slowed down before gently pressing on the gas to enter the large air craft. You looked scared cause you are. But short lived upon seeing Seonghwa slowly approaching the vehicle just as Yunho stepped out.
"See he made it!" Jiwoo started, punching Wooyoung in the shoulder. "Totally..." Wooyoung rolled his eyes. San ran to the front to inform the pilot they're ready to take off. Their conversation was muffled as you curled yourself into a ball around Marshmallow who seemed to enjoy your embrace.
You felt like crying. You're surrounded by dangerous strangers and on the verge of slipping into coma, yes you know Seonghwa but just enough for you to know he probably has little control of what's to happen next.
"She was drugged.."
"Shit." You watched a female walk up your side of the vehicle before opening the door wide. You scooted away from the door as far as possible just as Jiwoo handed you her hand gently. Eyeing it closely and thinking whether you should take it or not.
"Its okay-"
"Are you babying her?"
Yelled Wooyoung as he hopped onto the hood of the car before aggressively ripping the headliner off the damaged Jaguar. "Hello~" he greeted in a flirty tone. "Wooyoung..." a voice warned. Wooyoung rolled his eyes before throwing to large piece from the car onto the ground just as the plane began to shake and lift off the ground.
The voice came from Seonghwa. "Ya Wooyoung!" Jiwoo warned as well. "What? I just wanted to see her," he informed still looking down at you. "She's shaking-"
"She was drugged, dumbass," Jiwoo said before gently stepping into the car and grabbed the moving dog off your lap. "Wait.." you mumbled, gently stretching out your arms but Jiwoo already pulled away. "I'm not gonna hurt him..." she informed you before walking away. You could only watch her walk away with her as she was the only thing keeping you sane in this situation.
"Her, it's a her..." you mumbled but it was more to yourself. You looked up at the strong male who couldn't stop and still is looking at you.
Wait...
"You're... familiar..." you mumbled, getting up and standing up on the glass filled chair. Your legs shook at the drug still in your system, trying to keep yourself stable and straight; standing at the same level as him. "Wooyoung..." you repeated tauntingly, squinting your eyes as an attempt to recall memories.
"My car..." you pointed to his nose before stepping up onto the part of the car he was on. He almost wanted you to touch it, giving him a reason to push you off.
"Wooyoung..." Seonghwa warned again.
"We need to get her on a bed, no?" Yunho panicked.
You stumbled back and forth, your chest nearly touching his.
"You-" you clumsily slipped off the car but somehow was able to land on your feet. Wooyoung gave no effort to catch you. Jiwoo swear under her breath, having already pulling away Marshmallow in a cage and ran back.
Her hand was out in front of her, inches away from you as if she was getting ready for you to fall. But you didn't. You wobbled on your feet and walked away for the male standing on the damage car, as if you completely forgotten he was there.
"Ya!"
"Hold her!"
"What's going on!" San yelled coming back from informing the pilot. San looked at you and immediately his memory flashed in his eyes. How he got beaten by a simple civilian. How he trained for years and got his ass kicked by a simple civilian. How he wanted nothing more but to kill that simple civilian. Now you're standing, wobbling in front of him.
He eyed you before turning to Yunho. "She good?"
"Drugged." Yunho informed which made San nod. "And you..." you pointed to him the same way you did to Wooyoung. "I remember you..." you stomped closer to him, your pointed finger closing in to his nose. "You're..." San watched your arm suddenly drop and your eyes close but was able to keep your balance and the fact that the plane is now in the air, wasn't helping either.
There was silence. All of them watching you, watching what you're gonna do next. Only you didn't do anything. You just stood there on the ball of your feet and roll your head as if you were trying to keep yourself awake.
"This is not working..." Jiwoo said through the silence. "Agree! Let's throw her over."
"We can't do that." This time Seonghwa's warning was cold and even more serious. "What...?" He said, casually stepping down from the car towards the black hair male.
"You're gonna save your girlfriend?" Seonghwa stared at him, his jaw slightly clinching.
"Orders are orders... she's here, so don't fuck it up because she was able to beat your ass."
Yunho snorted and spared Wooyoung a glance then back to Seonghwa. But are the realization set in, the tall male's jaw dropped for a second while making eye contact with Jiwoo before closing it immediately.
Yunho mouthed something to Jiwoo and she immediately shrugged.
"Stay awake..." you whispered. You're trying, really. Felling unconscious here would be a bad idea. You completely unconscious and in the arms of a stranger who probably wants to kill you. You could feel it. You're sure the only thing stopping them from shooting you right now is the fact they're following orders.
You rolled your head a couple more times before finally stopping and opened your eyes. Your e/c eyes meet a dark brown pair standing a couple meters away from you. Seonghwa pricing eyes glared past Wooyoung.
Your lips twitched. Now finally realizing that the people in front of you tried to kill you mouths ago. They're standing right in front of you, fighting the urge to strangle you right now, your saviour and them working together and is now — in a sense, kidnapping you.
"...Man.."
Where did you go wrong? You should've stayed in New York with the hero spider boy of Queens to save your ass knowing if this is how your life would've ended up.
"...That's some bullshit...." You spoke in English before the balance in your feet gave in.

Braces 101: Everything You Need to Know About Teeth Braces for a Perfect Smile
So, you’re thinking about braces? Or maybe you just got them and have so many questions? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Whether you're a braces newbie or just curious, here’s your ultimate guide to achieving that picture-perfect smile.
✨ Why Get Braces?
Braces aren’t just for aesthetics (though a straight smile is chef’s kiss). They also: ✔ Fix crooked or crowded teeth ✔ Correct bite issues (overbite, underbite, crossbite) ✔ Improve oral health (easier cleaning = fewer cavities!) ✔ Boost confidence (hello, glow-up!)
For even more in-depth tips on braces care, check out this detailed guide on dental braces—it covers everything from pain relief to picking the right orthodontist!
🔍 Types of Braces
Not all braces are created equal! Here are your options: 🔹 Metal Braces – Classic, durable, and now way sleeker than back in the day. 🔹 Ceramic Braces – Less noticeable (clear or tooth-colored brackets). 🔹 Lingual Braces – Hidden behind your teeth—sneaky! 🔹 Invisalign – Clear aligners, removable & nearly invisible (great for mild to moderate cases).
⏳ How Long Do You Need Them?
It varies! Most people wear braces for 1–3 years, depending on:
The complexity of your case
How well you follow your orthodontist’s advice
Whether you actually wear your rubber bands (seriously, wear them).
🍎 Life with Braces: Dos & Don’ts
✅ DO:
Brush & floss like your smile depends on it (because it does).
Use wax if brackets irritate your cheeks.
Eat soft foods at first (your teeth will thank you).
🚫 DON’T:
Chew gum, caramel, or hard candy (RIP popcorn).
Skip ortho appointments (adjustments are key!).
Panic if something feels loose—just call your ortho!
💖 The Big Reveal: Life After Braces
Once those braces come off? Retainers are your new BFF. Wear them as directed, or your teeth might shift back (and nobody wants round two).
Final Thought:
Braces are a journey, but the destination? A flawless, confident smile that’s so worth it. ✨

In my bed at almost 2 in the morning seething over the movie adaptation of Wonder instead of going to bed, so you get to hear my complaining. God they did such a piss poor job on his appearance. Rambling below the cut.
His appearance makes kids run and scream, and then the movie makes him look like the most bland, nonthreatening face in the world. And it's not like it wasn't clear! The book gives a detailed description of what he looks like! So descriptive that the fandom wiki page just gives THAT QUOTE FROM THE BOOK in the section for his appearance!
And it's based on a real syndrome!!! There are people alive with Treacher Collins syndrome!! You can find them! Use them as a starting point! Don't prance about with this fancy label if you're not willing to commit to making the actor LOOK LIKE THAT when his appearance is a CENTRAL POINT OF THE NOVEL YOU'RE BASING YOUR MOVIE ON.
"Ah but Henry it's a lot of work to make an actor look like that... So much makeup.." Tough. You've sterilized your character and it's an insult to the people he's based on. ALSO. Those people you're basing him on? They can act! Find one, or do better!
I think nothing is more damning evidence than the description itself, so the following is pasted straight from the (admittedly fandom) wiki page:
"His eyes are about an inch below where they should be on his face, almost to halfway down his cheeks. They slant downward at an extreme angle, almost like diagonal slits that someone cut into his face, and the left one is noticeably lower than the right one. They bulge outward because his eye cavities are too shallow to accommodate them. The top eyelids are always halfway closed, like he's on the verge of sleeping. The lower eyelids sag so much they almost look like a piece of invisible string is pulling them downward: you can see the red part on the inside, like they're almost inside out. He doesn't have eyebrows or eyelashes. His nose is disproportionately big for his face, and kind of fleshy. His head is pinched in on the sides where the ears should be, like someone used giant pliers and crushed the middle part of his face. He doesn't have cheekbones. There are deep creases running down both sides of his nose to his mouth, which gives him a waxy appearance. Sometimes people assume he's been burned in a fire: his features look like they've been melted, like the drippings on the side of a candle. Several surgeries to correct his palate have left a few scars around his mouth, the most noticeable one being a jagged gash running from the middle of his upper lip to his nose. His upper teeth are small and splay out. He has a severe overbite and an extremely undersized jawbone. He has a very small chin. When he was very little, before a piece of his hip bone was surgically implanted into his lower jaw, he really had no chin at all. His tongue would just hang out of his mouth with nothing underneath to block it. Thankfully, it's better now."
Got that in your head? Envisioning it?
Good. Now, his portrayal in the movie:

Like, what the hell man. Go look up what people with Treacher Collins syndrome actually look like if you want to see exactly how far off it is.
Anyway rant about an 8 year old movie over. Henry out

Braces Near Me: Which Type Is Right for Your Smile Goals?
When you search for braces near me, you're likely looking for a treatment that not only corrects your teeth alignment but also fits your lifestyle, preferences, and long-term dental health goals. With so many orthodontic options available today—from traditional metal braces to clear aligners—it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But don't worry. Understanding the different types of braces, their benefits, and when additional appliances like a palate expander may be needed can help you make a confident decision.
In this comprehensive guide, you'll explore the types of braces available, how to choose the right one for your needs, and why visiting an experienced orthodontist north miami can make all the difference.

Why Braces Still Matter Today
Braces have come a long way from the bulky metal gear of the past. Modern braces are more comfortable, efficient, and tailored to meet your unique needs. Whether you're dealing with overcrowding, bite issues, or gaps, orthodontic treatment plays a major role in not just your appearance but also your oral health.
Some reasons you might be considering braces near me include:
Correcting crooked or crowded teeth
Fixing bite problems (overbite, underbite, crossbite)
Aligning jaw development in younger patients
Preventing future dental complications
Boosting self-confidence with a better smile
Types of Braces Near Me to Consider
When you visit an orthodontist north miami, you'll likely be introduced to several options for braces. Each type has specific advantages depending on your dental needs and lifestyle.
1. Traditional Metal Braces
These are the most common and time-tested orthodontic solution. Metal braces involve brackets and wires that are adjusted regularly to move your teeth into alignment.
Pros:
Effective for severe misalignments
More affordable than other options
Durable and long-lasting
Best For: Teens and adults with moderate to severe alignment needs
2. Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces function similarly to metal braces but use clear or tooth-colored brackets for a more discreet appearance.
Pros:
Less noticeable than metal braces
Highly effective
Cons:
More fragile than metal
Slightly more maintenance required
Best For: Adults or teens concerned with aesthetics
3. Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are attached to the back of your teeth, making them invisible from the front.
Pros:
Invisible when you smile
Effective for complex cases
Cons:
Can be more difficult to clean
May affect speech initially
Best For: Professionals or individuals seeking invisible treatment
4. Clear Aligners
Although not technically "braces," clear aligners like Invisalign offer an alternative approach using removable plastic trays that gradually shift your teeth.
Pros:
Nearly invisible
Removable for eating and brushing
Minimal dietary restrictions
Cons:
Requires discipline to wear 20–22 hours a day
Not suitable for all cases
Best For: Teens and adults with mild to moderate misalignments
What Is a Palate Expander and Do You Need One?
Before starting braces, your orthodontist north miami might recommend a palate expander—especially if you're younger or have a narrow upper jaw. This device gradually widens the roof of your mouth to create space for teeth to align correctly.
What to Expect: Palate Expander Before and After
Before:
You may have crowding, crossbites, or speech issues
Your upper jaw might appear narrower than your lower jaw
Braces may not fit properly without creating room
After:
Improved alignment and space for incoming teeth
Better bite and facial symmetry
Reduced need for tooth extractions in some cases
Using a palate expander before and after braces can greatly enhance your results, especially during early adolescence when the jaw is still developing.
Key Factors to Consider When Choosing Braces
When looking up braces near me, think about more than just appearance. Each option comes with its own set of responsibilities and outcomes.
1. Severity of Dental Issue
Some cases require stronger corrective force (like metal braces), while others can be treated with clear aligners.
2. Daily Habits
Do you snack frequently or play contact sports? Metal braces might be better than ceramic or clear aligners due to durability.
3. Aesthetic Preferences
If you’re concerned about how braces look, ceramic or lingual braces may offer a more discreet alternative.
4. Treatment Duration
Some braces work faster than others depending on your case and consistency with treatment.
5. Orthodontist’s Expertise
A skilled orthodontist north miami can evaluate your case and suggest what works best—whether that’s traditional braces or using a palate expander before and after treatment for optimal alignment.
The Treatment Journey: What You Can Expect
Understanding what the process looks like from start to finish helps you prepare mentally and physically for orthodontic care.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
You’ll meet with your orthodontist to review your dental history, get X-rays and impressions, and discuss your smile goals.
Step 2: Treatment Planning
Based on your consultation, your orthodontist will recommend a type of braces and possibly a palate expander.
Step 3: Appliance Placement
Braces or aligners are fitted. If using a palate expander, it will be placed first and worn for several months.
Step 4: Adjustments and Monitoring
You’ll return every 4–8 weeks for adjustments and to monitor progress.
Step 5: Retainers
After your braces are removed, you’ll wear a retainer to maintain your new alignment.

Common Misconceptions About Clear Aligners
Clear aligners have revolutionized the way people achieve straighter teeth, offering a modern, discreet alternative to traditional metal braces. However, with all the excitement around this innovative treatment, there are still some common misconceptions that may leave you wondering if clear aligners are right for you. At Black Bear Dental, your local provider of clear aligners near you, we’re here to clear up these myths and provide expert insights into why clear aligners could be the perfect fit for your smile journey.

Myth 1: Clear Aligners Only Work for Minor Teeth Adjustments
Many people believe that clear aligners are only suitable for small corrections, like closing minor gaps or straightening slightly crooked teeth. This misconception often leads patients to think they aren’t a candidate if they have more complex dental issues.
The Reality: Clear aligners have advanced significantly and are now capable of treating a wide range of orthodontic concerns, including crowded teeth, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. At Black Bear Dental, we use the latest aligner technology that can effectively address even more challenging cases. Our experienced team will conduct a thorough evaluation of your teeth and customize a treatment plan that suits your specific needs, no matter how complex.
Myth 2: Clear Aligners Take Much Longer Than Traditional Braces
A common misconception is that clear aligners take longer to straighten teeth compared to traditional braces. It’s easy to assume that because clear aligners are removable and less visible, they might not be as effective in achieving timely results.
The Reality: Clear aligners can be just as efficient, if not faster, than traditional braces, depending on the complexity of the case and how consistently the aligners are worn. Most patients complete treatment in 12 to 18 months, which is comparable to traditional braces. In some cases, clear aligners can even achieve results faster because they are designed to apply continuous, gentle pressure to shift teeth more predictably.

Myth 3: Clear Aligners Are Uncomfortable to Wear
Some patients worry that clear aligners might be uncomfortable or painful, similar to the discomfort often associated with metal braces. This misconception can discourage people from choosing aligners, fearing that the treatment won’t be as comfortable as advertised.
The Reality: Clear aligners are custom-made from smooth, BPA-free plastic that fits snugly over your teeth. While you may experience mild pressure when switching to a new set of aligners, this is a sign that the aligners are working. Unlike braces, there are no sharp brackets or wires to irritate your cheeks and gums, making clear aligners a far more comfortable option for most patients.

Do Dentists Recommend Clear Aligners?
Absolutely, many dentists and orthodontists recommend clear aligners as an effective, convenient alternative to traditional braces. At Black Bear Dental, we often suggest clear aligners for patients seeking a discreet and flexible treatment option that fits seamlessly into their lifestyle. Here’s why:
Effectiveness: Clear aligners are proven to effectively treat a wide range of orthodontic issues, offering reliable and predictable results.
Aesthetic Appeal: The nearly invisible appearance of clear aligners allows patients to straighten their teeth without the noticeable look of metal braces, which is particularly appealing for adults and teens who are conscious of their appearance.
Convenience and Flexibility: Because clear aligners are removable, you can enjoy your favorite foods without restrictions and maintain your regular oral hygiene routine with ease.
Customized Treatment: Every set of aligners is tailored specifically to your teeth, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit that drives optimal results.
At Black Bear Dental, our focus is on providing personalized care that meets your unique needs. We evaluate every patient’s individual case to determine if clear aligners are the best choice for achieving their smile goals.

Wolfgang + MFS
Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects connective tissue in the body, so it can affect lots of things in the body, such as eyes, heart, lungs, and joints. Wolfgang was born with this syndrome, and it was obvious from birth that he had it. It was passed down from his father’s side of the family.
So, what’s all affected?
Appearance/skeletal system: Wolfgang is a very tall and thin individual, with long arms, legs, fingers, and toes. His chest has a caved in appearance. He’s extremely flexible, but has scoliosis. He experiences joint, bone, and muscle pain often. His teeth are crowded in his mouth, and he has an overbite. He has a high palate, which results in a speech impediment. He also has flat feet.
Eyes: Wolfgang has nearsightedness and blurred vision, resulting in his need for glasses. He doesn’t wear them as often as he should, though. He also has a high chance to develop high glaucoma or cataracts at a young age.
Heart: Wolfgang experiences fatigue, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, racing heartbeat, and some chest pains.
So, how does he get around?
Wolfgang can find it difficult to get around, due to the pain he feels, plus his nervous system. His nervous system is slowly degrading, due to a weakening of a protective sac around his spinal cord. He can experience headaches and various other body pains, but they usually subside if he lays down.
He uses a tall cane to walk long distances, but his heart can cause problems, especially his shortness of breath and heart palpitations. His flat feet can make it hurt if he stands or walks too much as well.
He wears a back brace to try and correct / prevent his scoliosis from getting worse.

Smile Makeovers: Dental Bridges, Orthodontics, and Dentures Explained
A healthy, beautiful smile is more than a cosmetic asset—it plays a vital role in your overall health, confidence, and ability to enjoy life. Whether you're dealing with missing teeth, misaligned bites, or aging dental restorations, modern dental care offers solutions for every need. This article explores the essential dental services of Dental bridges in Manchester, Orthodontist Manchester, and Dentures in Manchester, while also answering the most common questions patients have about these treatments.
What Are Dental Bridges?
A dental bridge is a fixed prosthetic device that replaces one or more missing teeth. It uses the surrounding teeth as anchors (called abutments) to hold a false tooth (called a pontic) in place. These bridges restore chewing ability, maintain face shape, and keep remaining teeth from shifting.
How long do dental bridges last?
Dental bridges generally last between 5 to 15 years. However, with good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, some bridges can last even longer. The longevity of the bridge also depends on the type of material used—porcelain-fused-to-metal bridges tend to be more durable.
What is the downside of a dental bridge?
There are some limitations to consider:
Preparation of adjacent teeth: Healthy neighboring teeth must be filed down to support the bridge.
Decay risk: If not properly cleaned, decay can occur under the crowns.
Bone loss: Unlike implants, bridges do not prevent jawbone deterioration over time.
Despite these potential downsides, Dental bridges in Manchester remain a popular and effective tooth replacement option due to their cost-effectiveness and natural look.
What Does an Orthodontist Do?
Orthodontists are dental specialists focused on diagnosing and correcting misaligned teeth and jaws. Their work is essential not only for cosmetic improvements but also for functional dental health.
What does an orthodontist do?
An Orthodontist Manchester can:
Straighten crooked or crowded teeth
Close gaps between teeth
Correct bite issues (like overbite, underbite, and crossbite)
Guide jaw growth in children
Prevent or treat problems that arise from misaligned teeth
Orthodontists typically use braces, aligners (such as Invisalign), retainers, and other devices tailored to each patient’s condition.
What’s the difference between a dentist and an orthodontist?
Dentists offer general care: cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, and gum disease treatments.
Orthodontists undergo additional specialized training to focus exclusively on tooth and jaw alignment.
While dentists can sometimes offer basic orthodontic treatments, complex cases are best handled by a specialist.
Can orthodontics treat gum disease?
Orthodontics does not directly treat gum disease, but correcting alignment issues can improve gum health. Straight teeth are easier to clean, reducing the risk of plaque buildup and periodontal disease. However, if active gum disease is present, it must be treated by a periodontist or general dentist before orthodontic work can begin.
All About Dentures
Dentures are removable appliances that replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. They help restore your smile and improve chewing and speech for those with multiple missing teeth.
Which type of denture is best?
The best type of denture depends on individual needs, but options include:
Complete dentures: For those with no remaining natural teeth.
Partial dentures: Used when some natural teeth remain.
Implant-supported dentures: Offer better stability and function.
Many patients seeking Dentures in Manchester prefer implant-supported options for their durability and comfort, despite the higher cost.
What are the three types of dentures?
Conventional full dentures: Made after teeth are removed and gums heal.
Immediate full dentures: Placed right after teeth extraction.
Partial dentures: Attached to natural teeth with metal or flexible clasps.
Each type has its pros and cons, and a consultation with your dentist will help determine the best fit for your lifestyle and oral health.
How much will it cost to have dentures?
The cost of dentures can vary widely depending on:
Type of denture (partial, full, implant-supported)
Materials used
Number of appointments required
Clinic pricing and insurance
On average, conventional dentures range from £500 to £2,500, while implant-supported dentures may cost between £3,000 to £10,000. Many clinics offering Dentures in Manchester provide payment plans and consultations to help manage costs.
What is the downside to having dentures?
While dentures are a reliable solution, they do have drawbacks:
May feel uncomfortable or bulky at first
Require daily cleaning and maintenance
Can shift or loosen while eating or speaking
May need adjustment over time due to bone loss
That said, modern dentures are more natural-looking and comfortable than ever before, and with the right care, they can significantly enhance quality of life.

Have you ever tried rollin rascal? It’s very good and cool and probably the closest thing we’ve ever gotten to proper classic sonic style gameplay in 3D
I've been playing these folks games all the way back since Sonic GT. I've played every public build of Rollin' Rascal they've put out.
And every time I see it, it gets a little better. I do like their approach, where everything has a little bit of homing/correction on it. Sly Cooper and a lot of other Sucker Punch games did that kind of stuff. Instead of a guiding hand locking you down into scripted set-pieces you can't control, you're getting little nudges in the right direction. It's nice.
It's a real fun game, but I still wonder about the enemy control/takeover stuff. It feels like it only exists so they have something to point to when people say it's "just a Sonic game." Because, no, it's not just a Sonic game, you can ride on enemies and use their guns and attacks and stuff, right?
But it feels so easy to ignore, and Rascal himself feels so fast and agile, and at least as far as the current demos go, it's only like 2% of what's going on in a given level. At the same time, I'm not sure how you balance that. It's sort of the Spark the Electric Jester problem, right. Spark 2 added this full on Platinum Games style combat system, but it felt really mashy and it made the pacing weird. Like, you COULD stop and fight everything, but it would make levels take 10x longer.
Spark 3 is a lot better about it, but that means you can run past most enemies and they just don't matter. But at least its paced better, so it doesn't feel like the end of the world to go zooming past most enemies.
Rollin Rascal is still dialing in that pacing, I think. I dunno if it applies to them or not, but personally I think it's really weird to go from making a fangame to making an original game because with a fangame, you're sort of working in the constraints of existing concepts. Enemies work a certain way, are placed in certain places, etc. You have a blueprint.
When you move over to making an original game, it can almost feel overwhelming realizing the amount of freedom you have. And it can be difficult to see what you have in front of you. Again, that's one of those things that I feel like happened on OverBite.
So they're free to have a little wiggle room, I think. I get it. It's understandable.

Metal Braces: The Classic Smile Fixer Everyone Should Know About

When most people think of orthodontics, one image often pops into their minds—metal braces. These shiny, silver dental tools have been around for decades and are still the go-to solution for straightening teeth, correcting bites, and creating confident smiles.
In this blog post, we’ll dive deep into the world of metal braces. Whether you're considering getting them or just curious, you'll learn what they are, how they work, the pros and cons, what to expect during the treatment process, and how they’ve changed lives.
What Are Metal Braces? A Quick Breakdown
Metal braces are orthodontic devices used to straighten misaligned teeth and fix bite issues like overbites, underbites, and overcrowding. They consist of metal brackets bonded to the front of each tooth and connected by a wire. Over time, this wire is adjusted to gently move the teeth into the correct position.
Unlike newer options like clear aligners or ceramic braces, metal braces are typically more noticeable—but also more effective for complex dental issues.
Why Metal Braces Are Still Popular in 2025
Even with the rise of Invisalign and other clear aligners, metal braces haven’t gone out of style—and for good reason:
Durability: Made from stainless steel, they can withstand a lot of pressure.
Effectiveness: Ideal for complex orthodontic cases.
Affordability: Generally more cost-effective than other types of braces.
Faster Results: In many cases, they correct alignment issues more quickly.
If you’re looking for a reliable and time-tested solution, metal braces still lead the pack.
Types of Dental Problems Metal Braces Can Fix
Let’s look at the most common dental issues metal braces can solve:
1. Crowded Teeth
Teeth overlap due to lack of space. Braces create room by gradually shifting the teeth apart.
2. Overbite or Underbite
Braces realign the upper and lower jaw for a balanced bite.
3. Open Bite
When teeth don’t touch when the mouth is closed. Braces bring them together.
4. Spacing Issues
Metal braces can close gaps between teeth for a more even smile.
5. Crossbite
When some upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth. Braces correct the alignment for a healthier bite.
Challenges of Wearing Metal Braces
Like anything in life, metal braces come with a few hurdles. Here are some common challenges and how to overcome them:
1. Discomfort
Initially, your mouth may feel sore as your teeth adjust. This usually fades after a few days.
Pro Tip: Use orthodontic wax and over-the-counter pain relief to manage discomfort.
2. Oral Hygiene is Tougher
Food can easily get stuck in the brackets and wires.
Solution: Use interdental brushes, floss threaders, and water flossers to clean around your braces.
3. Dietary Restrictions
Hard, sticky, or chewy foods are off-limits.
Suggested Foods: Soft foods like yogurt, pasta, rice, bananas, and mashed potatoes.
4. Appearance
Metal braces are more noticeable than clear aligners.
Mindset Shift: Embrace them as a part of your journey to a beautiful smile.
5. Adjustments Can Be Uncomfortable
You’ll need to visit your orthodontist every 4–8 weeks for wire tightening.
Reminder: This is a sign your braces are working. Adjustments mean progress!
Step-by-Step Guide: Getting Metal Braces
If you’re wondering what the full process looks like, here’s a simple step-by-step breakdown:
Step 1: Initial Consultation
You’ll meet with an orthodontist who will assess your teeth, bite, and jaw using X-rays and digital scans.
Goal: Create a custom treatment plan.
Step 2: Teeth Cleaning and Preparation
Before applying braces, the orthodontist ensures your teeth are clean and cavity-free.
Step 3: Bonding Brackets
Small metal brackets are glued to the center of each tooth. This is painless and takes about 1–2 hours.
Step 4: Connecting with Archwire
A thin wire is threaded through the brackets and held in place with elastic bands (ligatures).
Step 5: Monthly Adjustments
Every few weeks, the orthodontist will tighten the wire to continue shifting your teeth.
These visits usually take 15–30 minutes.
Step 6: Braces Off!
After 18–36 months (depending on the case), the brackets and wires are removed.
Step 7: Retainers
A retainer is given to maintain your new smile. You’ll wear it full-time at first, then gradually reduce wear.
Real-World Case Study: Mia’s Journey with Metal Braces
Let’s meet Mia, a 17-year-old high school student from Brisbane.
The Problem
Mia had crowded teeth and a severe overbite that made her self-conscious and uncomfortable while eating.
Treatment
Her orthodontist recommended metal braces for 24 months. Mia visited the clinic every six weeks for adjustments.
Challenges She Faced
Soreness after adjustments
Difficulty eating crunchy foods
Getting used to brushing more often
The Outcome
After two years, Mia’s braces were removed, revealing a perfect smile. Her confidence soared, and she even started modeling part-time.
Quote from Mia:
