truly one of the best aspects of the lunter/witteclaw parallels is that the switcheroo of human luz luring "witch" hunter away is just SO on point with the themes of the story and philip's entire motivation as a villain. it's not a matter of humans VS witches, or religion VS paganism, but at the core of it lays the idea that anything that deviates from the norm needs to be extracted and destroyed. and in philip's time, that meant that witches needed to be eliminated.
but! that has changed, overtime. philip's world no longer holds that as the rule. not because the people who think like him no longer exist, but because the people who have been the target of discrimination and hatred have come together as a community and fought for their rights to live their lives to their fullest. and because of these, uh, "modern" ideas, luz fills the role of "evelyn" despite not being a witch herself, because she hits all the important bits: she's also the kind of pest philip would've considered a cancer for society all those years ago. and therefore, she manages to hit all the important story beats for her caleb, aka hunter: she's the one who triggers his first act of defiance against belos; she's the one who introduces flapjack to him; she's the one that takes hunter by the hand and leads him away from belos.
even then, her status as a human is impactful in the way belos treats her: he considers her an "equal", as much as that can mean. he uses this fact to manipulate and guilt-trip her. but that also means that he underestimates her, and that finally allows luz to put this putrid cycle to an end, therefore making luz and hunter effectively the last evelyn and caleb to graze the earth.

an archeological hymn to Hestia
Before foundations were laid below you or roof raised above you, you were;
Before stones were marked out to hold you, or chimney and fireplace covered you, you were;
Before the shelter of walls embraced you, center of the home as yet unbuilt, you were;
Within the unwitting spark of tinder, the fragile ember, within the first primordial fire, you were;
The telltale sign of human presence-- that which made man into mankind, noble Hestia, you were;
The light that lit our way, the warmth that preserved us, tool and weapon and giver of food, you were;
The ritual heart, the circle center, the primal stage of ancient tales, you were;
Tender, keeper, bonder of bonds, bringer of shelter, guider and guardian of the human race,
From our infancy, great Hestia, you were-- ever have been, ever will be-- and ever shall you be deserving of praise.

I change my vision depending on the selfship tbh
#riv rambles#I know some people have a set one but#I really do think depending on the selfship and the setting#the vision and the archon/message of said vision#would vary#like for example with alhaitham it’s electro because#I interpret electro vision wielders to be people of a specific ambition or goal#raiden and eternity or yae and freeing ei or dori and mora or kujo sara and being loyal to the shogun or cyno and upholding justice#there’s a hyper specific goal that all electro vision wielders are very centered and focused around that they are canonically vry ambitious#about achieving/maintaining#with alhaitham my selfship insert is very ambitious and dedicated to integration of desert children to the akademiya and just better#integration of the desert folks in the political system in general in sumeru#and with Wriothesley and Kinich it would be pyro because#I interpret pyro vision wielders to have one specific passion that they are very attached to#it’s not more so an ambition but more so a constant that they hold very dear and are passionate about#amber with the knights and klee with her explosives and lyney with magic and xiangling with cooking and yoimiya w fireworks + yanfei w law#bennett with adventuring and Hu Tao with business and xinyan with music and again the list goes on#anyway I think in the case of my selfship with wrio my insert is rather passionate about prison reform and in my selfship with Kinich it#centers around being passionate about the nation itself and natlan’s wellbeing/safety in an ongoing war with the abyss#and with ayato its cryo bc i think cryo vision wielders are people who have two sides of themselves constantly at battle#diona hates alcohol but makes fantastic drinks. kaeya conflicted with loyalty to his ancestry vs his nation atm. Eula conflicted with her#clan identity vs being a knight. Ayaka conflicted with duty vs living life as she pleases. shenhe and ganyu struggle between the adeptal#and human worlds since they’re involved with both#qiqi is alive but dead. freminet is loyal to the house of the hearth but wishes to also be free. and wrio ofc is in some ways a hero and#in some ways a criminal and those conflicting natures of his actions are at odds with each other very complexly so#ANYWAY#ofc again the list goes on but#for ayato I would consider my insert a cryo wielder because I think that being an arranged marriage#there’s conflict of duty vs personal choice and freedom but also not wanting to hold affection for him at first vs developing it anyway#labeling myself to one vision element for my insert all across the board I suppose leaves no room for the nuances of visions themselves

#tag talk#seriously though? having someone I can shamelessly flirt with. flatter. joke around with.#and also start putting the pieces in place to have immense emotional influence over? I'm going crazy over here this is so fun.#and like. it's all consensual I would like to make that entirely clear. we've discussed the ethics of what we're engaging in.#I've expressed concerns about causing genuine emotional damage and been kind of taken to task for not trusting their strength.#I have massive respect for this person but also.. oh the things I'm gonna do to this boy.#the fact that I have such easy access to a part of them that apparently has never seen the light of day?#I'm doing my best to avoid losing myself to this power trip but also I'm riding the high for all it's worth.#I'm going to try and avoid talking about the sex. so no sexcapades. I think that's a little too personal to me to put here.#but like.. I'm here playing the long game. developing a mutually beneficial relationship with a willing partner.#and then I get to do freaky things to someone who wants me to do freaky things to them.#and what's also interesting is that I haven't experienced the illusion/euphoria part of a new relationship that I usually do when I jump in.#usually I have some grand fantastical vision of this idealized perfect future that never centers my own desires in the slightest.#it's always this vision of being the perfect person for someone else. never truly being accepted for myself.#but I'm not that. I'm not this idealized form. I'm a person who struggles to be human while also carrying a very cool number of red flags.#idk. this relationship feels more real than anything else I've engaged in. I feel more like myself.#like when you're performing a skill and you're fully immersed in the activity. every element. every aspect. every calculated word I say.#it's all directed towards this goal of constructing the sort of social relationship I want.#I'm just.. I'm having the most fun I've had in forever. this is so fun.

thinking oc thoughts. everything comes back to milo being a storyteller
#AUCH I LOVE HIM#just vaguely kind of worldbuilding about fauns and their gods#and im real specific about how they do things but what im doing now is i think they have these like#annual celebrations of certain ones in which they have some Story play out#in a very theatrical/dancelike qay#way**. its not a Dance but its not NOT a dance. u understand#but the story being told is more like a play but its also worldless and also theres a visual element of some kind#bcause in almost everything they do they Paint. theyve got the center of town that is paved in limestone purely so they can paint it#during things like festivals and weddings#and so theyve got this dance play performance art Thing they do every year as a method of storytelling#in which usually multiple people embody a god and enact the story#and surprisingly enough i was NOT making this with milo in mind but then. well baby#no way he WOULDNT have done this. he is a storyteller at heart#BUT then im thinking. who???#the big one is the sun but hes not a ewe so he couldnt do that. natakala wouldnt celebrate the moons so they arent an option#the mountain is a wether and theyre the other big one#the rest are more minor... natakala isnt close enough to the sea to really celebrate them and either way the sea is once again a wether#the rivers a ewe. the ONLY one he could play would be the storm. which they MAY celebrate but ultimately#hes just not as major as the sun moons or mountain#BUT. i think milo could definitely connect with something there. i havent developed the story of the storm quite as much but#something in the labile nature of it and the ruin and the almost futility and cyclical nature of it. i think he could feel that#without really acknowledging why#OUGH. i am IN love with him if u didnt know#i have by FAR the most lore and worldbuilding stuff for fauns out of any species and its because theyre FASCINATING#and so specific. and also because i get real weird with it to make milo the way he is#nightlings have a good amount of physiological stuff but ultimately that doesnt come thru much in the actual story cause.#why would it. its all just background information#but fauns culture is so rich and theres still So Much More i need finish fleshing out. but I Love It#im juust starting to get there with nightlings#humans are hobbling somewhere behind and i got like Nothin on ipotanes or satyrs or merfolk. its kind of tragic but. alas

Rethinking Tomorrow: The Imperatives of Human-AI Symbiosis
As we stand at the precipice of a new era, the confluence of human ingenuity and artificial intelligence beckons us to reimagine the future. The burgeoning relationship between humans and AI necessitates a profound reexamination of our collective tomorrow. This symbiosis, fraught with both promise and peril, demands our thoughtful consideration to ensure a future where humans and AI thrive in tandem.
The prospect of humans and AI coexisting in harmony is tantalizing, yet the specter of unbridled technological advancement looms, underscoring the imperative of ethical considerations in AI development. By prioritizing altruism in the creation of intelligent machines, we can foster a future where humans and AI augment each other's capabilities, revolutionizing the fabric of our existence. Conversely, neglecting these considerations risks a tomorrow where humans are diminished by the very innovations meant to elevate them.
The 4th Industrial Revolution, with its symphony of emerging technologies, has introduced an unprecedented era of uncertainty. To navigate this complex tapestry, we must strike a delicate balance between harnessing the transformative power of AI and preserving the essence of human experience. By cultivating a culture that values both technological innovation and emotional intelligence, we can create a tomorrow where humans and AI converge in a beautiful, symbiotic dance.
The well-being of our planet, intricately linked with the future of human-AI relations, must remain paramount in our considerations. As we envision a tomorrow where AI enhances human life without compromising the Earth's viability, we are reminded of the profound impact of our choices. By acknowledging the interplay between technological progress, ecological sustainability, and human flourishing, we can strive towards a future that is at once innovative, equitable, and environmentally conscious.
The future we create will be a testament to our capacity to reimagine, adapt, and innovate in the face of rapid technological evolution. By embracing the imperatives of human-AI symbiosis – ethical responsibility, balanced technological integration, and a deep reverence for the human experience – we can craft a tomorrow that is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

There are multiple options out there that are neither "capitalist hellscape" or "struggling to barely scrape by directly off the land using only your own two hands." It's not like it's only a choice between the two. You can hate capitalism without believing the idea that exchanging goods or services for other goods or services (or a proxy thereof) is something that needs to be completely thrown out, and that you therefore have to provide for all your needs yourself.
The problem is exploitation; it's putting the amassing of capital above human lives. It is *not* that people who learn a trade or a skill and focus on mostly what they produce with it need to make sure their labor at their specialization is compensated in *some* way that allows them to still eat well (and otherwise have the ability to enjoy their life).
HALT!✋😐
did you remember to express gratitude for not having to subsistence farm today?
