Steve lemme love on Steve*there's a home made meals of those spicy noodles again one for soda and one for Steve, there was also a little box that had two wedding rings in it and the box was labeled for later down the line*

“Oh, yeah!” Soda picked up the box, which had been sitting by the register for what had been a few hours, passing it over to Steve. “This had yer name on it.”

Steve looked it over, opening the box and seeing the labels, before immediately shutting it when he caught a glimpse of those shiny jewels.

Soda looked him over. “...Was it bad?”

Steve stared at the box for a minute. “N– no. Just, uh.” He cleared his throat. “Nothin' I need to worry about right now.”

Soda blankly stared Steve over a little longer. Steve could tell Soda was trying to pick up on his body language, and immediately moved around, as if to shake off his staring eyes.

Steve stretched dramatically, bending backwards and placing the box on the shelf behind him. “I'll just save it here. Keep it there for, uhm... later.”

Soda nodded. “M'kay.” He grins, before slowly turning back to the jar.

“Don't m'kay me, Soda.” Steve gruffed.

Soda laughs. “Alright, alright! What was in it though?”

Steve sighs, resting his head on the counter. “S'mething stupid. They got me jewelry that I won't wear.”

Soda tilted his head. “And you closed the box all crazy 'cause of that?”

Steve squints at Soda. “...Yeah.”

They both stare at each other for a good second, before Steve flips his head around to rest the other way.

“Quit naggin' me. You're hard to lie to when you're starin' at me like that.”

Soda bursts out laughing. “What?! I'm just lookin'! I know you are, you can't keep stuff that easy from me!”

“It ain't important! Go back to your notes!”

“Fineee...” Soda giggles, pushing Steve lightly. Steve just scoffs.

Even if he would never say it out loud, Sierra had become his sparkling. Adopted or not, he claimed her as his bit lit. His little one to care for with Cliffjumper. Even if he butt helms with the Autobot, in the end he just wanted to do right by her.

And sometimes that ment showing the worst of himself. Claws split and tore open lines and wires, tearing them apart as he screeched. Six tendrils whipped and snapped, slicing and tearing into more. No one hurts his sparkling, not one gets near her.

Another screech as he slammed into another vehicon, using him as a lunching pad to chase. No one would hurt his sparkling, no one would take her from him.

He would get her back and burn them all.

No no no no no no no no no-

This isn't- this wasn't- this was not supposed to happen

She left, she got away, she stole Cliff right out of the interrogation room and escaped with him off the Nemesis and she went home and that was supposed to be the end of it-

But it's not. Because Starscream has found her.

Sierra doesn't know if the Air Commander wants to drag her back to the Decepticons or tear her into tiny shreds of scrap metal (or both, as Megatron has done to him so many times) but regardless, Sierra refuses to go down easily.

Too many other flyers in the sky, so she took to the ground, down into a mist-filled valley with looming trees and scattered pillars of rock, where her small frame can move quick and quiet, using all the tricks of scouting and evasion she's learned from Cliffjumper and Arcee and Bumblebee. It's not perfect. It won't last forever. But it should keep her one step ahead of Starscream's squadron until help can answer her distress beacon.

Or until whatever else is hunting said squadron catches up.

Visual sensors and scanning equipment don't work very well in the heavily shrouded environment, but sound travels just fine. Sierra heard the first Vehicon go down screaming, and there's only been a steady series of repeats since then. Whatever else is down here, it's catching up faster than Starscream's troops.

Maybe Sierra will get lucky and it's only after Decepticons.

Right, and maybe Screamer only wants a goodbye hug.

Wishful thinking at its finest.

She ducks around another rock formation and presses back against the water-smoothed stone, desperately trying to quiet her ventilations, freezing as one of the few remaining Cons goes running past her hiding place, calling on his comm for reinforcements.

Something dark blurs through the mist, and the words cut off with a shriek, a screech, and finally a dying gurgle.

Sierra doesn't so much as twitch a wingtip.

If the show was more focused on character development than it currently is, what do you think would change? What do you think would stay the same?

REALLY INTERESTING QUESTION!! my first thought is that the show would lose most of its appeal for the average viewer if the characters were allowed to become more fleshed out. i mean, the primary attraction of south park is that it's funny, and the simple, static characters allow the writers to consistently deliver the brand of humor we've come to expect from them. if, for example, cartman started learning from his mistakes, sp just wouldn't have the same appeal it has with his antics and repetitive failures.

(i'm reminded of the deleted ending to the list, where cartman briefly reflects on the fact that he's not a good person. it's an insignificant moment, cut from a 15 (?) year old episode, but it's interesting to think that even a handful of instances like this could culminate in some sort of character development for him. which the writers absolutely want to avoid)

of course, allowing the characters to have depth and grow wouldn't necessarily make the show unfunny—the humor would just evolve. into something better, something worse, who knows!

so, alright, the comedy would change, one way or another. and naturally, if they were to transition south park into a more character-driven show, the difference in humor and plot and everything would alter the fanbase SO much. i already mentioned that the typical viewer would be alienated, but for the most part the like. tumblr/shipping/fandom culture would be upended, as the characters gaining personality traits in the show would obviously support some headcanons and leave others high and dry. this could lead to infighting the likes of which we've never seen. but it might not. i mean what do i know. i don't know anything
