fantasy novel wip has officially crossed the 10k mark since i started the new draft with the new outline last month. gotten less writing done than i would have wished but when i am able to sit down to write i'm getting a lot more done than i had previously.

#also this scene i'm about to wrap up had spanned two and a half chapters at this point #whereas in previous drafts this was like. just my first chapter or even a part of my first chapter #basically when i redid my plot outline (or rather actually made a plot outline)#i was able to add in so much metaphorical meat that gave me so much more to work with regarding the characters and the setting #that this opening bit... is actually settin stuff up for once. like theres actually stuff the characters can and should do here finally!#i dont know if that makes sense to anyone whos not a writer (or even people who are lol)#i still have a ton of personal worldbuilding to do to flesh out the story in my head so i have enough to work with as i continue to write #(is this setting in a monarchy? an oligarchy? what does the average person know about X or Y?)#but like. most days i sit down to write and im keeping my daily goal at just 400 words #and most days im cranking out at least 800 because i actually know how to continue after each paragraph!#its fun im in the writing is fun phase #remind me of this when i get another 'money is lace' idea and have to stop writing a week to figure that out #(money is still lace i love being indulgent to weird ideas)#gravitas #gravitas wip #i need a wip tag for this

#rug hooking #muffled laugh #wip #artists on tumblr #squints #honestly the difficult part is over( aka the cat) so that's good #I say speedrunning but it's in two weeksish #but it's kinda big? hgnng I want it to be an actual rug but since it's not pure wool idk how durable it would be #in the long run #which again I still wanna make a big rug for my room #so I can stomp around on it/test it out haha #being able to use the malabrigo chunky green yarn is very satisfying #also bless you chunky yarn which is making the progress go a lot faster haha #I drew a failed pattern on the other side of the backing and the fingertips on my left hand #look super bruised but it's just the marker rubbing off mhjfg #still like this style the most I think (the blended color type? like with the sea otter haha or the horse one #or like there's a big mix of textures/yarn size #coelacanth is fun but I think I got a little too nitpicky with it #lmao all my breaks between work have either been coral island or rug hooking #sort of related but there was a yarn shop I went to maybe 2 years ago?#and there was a yarn I bought there that I'm finally using up more and it's literally the softest/fluffiest yarn ever :'D #need to dig through my labels to see which brand it was #sorry to all the people who decided to open tags and got slammed with a wall of text/ramblings LMAO #edit: rip the yarn brand's actually been discontinued since 2018 hAHA

Playing around imagining what an older Rayla might look like (a total excuse to draw her in a dress).

I think she's between 25 and 30 here, got a bit to get used having the title as the first elven princess of The Pentarchy. The earrings are a reference to her Arc 2 concept art but for a lot of reasons it made sense they scrapped the idea so I HC that when the war is over and she doesn't have to fight anymore she will let her hair loose, wear jewerly and pretty dresses (ofc all gifted by Callum since we know how babygirl is).

Her back is open because Callum wants to enjoy the view
