OH RIGHT MY ITERATION

Okay so these are just the concept info pages I made and these are not the final designs though, I’ve updated some designs A TON already

OKAY this iteration is called

TMNT 2032

and these pages are in order of when I made them so there’s no rhyme or reason.

This is Cassius Casey (Kirby) Jones, he’s the first person I designed for the AU and his design does not look like this at all anymore. He’s got Japanese heritage from one side of the fam and Mexican on the other. No real reason except I wanna push my Spanglish onto him. Also he’s gay.

This is April O’Neil, she’s the second person I designed but I never really thought her I through. She I guess has a possessed softball bat cause she’s a lesbian and the bat is a reference to Rise April. Her mother’s family is Indian and her dad’s is either Indian-American or African American. Like I said before, I haven’t thought her through much.

She handles the supplies for the Homatos and that’s really all I have, I should probly think her through more 😬

This is Raph, originally he was going to be a snapping turtle but I decided he’s actually going to be biologically related to his brothers with the turtle DNA. I haven’t thought too much about him but he does have romantic feelings for Mona Lisa when he meets her but I still need his personality-

Okay so here’s Mikey and he’s the one that I’ve HEAVILY changed—DRASTICALLY, if you will. I wasn’t even really in the right mindset to design him here so I am not at all proud of this design 😬

Yeah so he’s technically not the youngest I guess and also the drawing I did here was horrendous so uhhhhh let’s ignore this and we’ll have better content on him later.

Here’s Kassandra Karai Jones, I had SO MUCH fun designing her. She’s a super badass lesbian Foot clan royalty soldier. Also she’s Casey’s twin hehehehe I love that so much. I can’t wait to write her arcs and stuff but I’ll have you know right now that the girl is a DISASTER around attractive women.

This is Donnie!!!! He’s DEFINITELY up there with the Jones twins as one of the most fun characters to design, he’s so awesome I love drawing himmmm eeeeeeeeeeek!!!!

Okay so I made a mistake saying he has dual Bo-staffs, I just liked the way it looked with his design, but that’s incredibly impractical so that’s one of the first things I changed.

He’s the one character that I have his WHOLE personality fleshed out because I loved designing so much and he’s either a silly gay or a silly bisexual. I can’t tell you everything about him right now bc he’s still in the making and I wanna leave some room for content but he’s so much fun to draw and write!!!!

This is Jennikka! Did I mention she’s in here? Hehehehehehhehehehehhe well now I did. i am not getting involved into the making of the turtles because I spent DAYS working on that but I love it so much but ANYWAYS she’s here and she’s sapphic.

This is Venus!!! She’s so cuuteee eeeeeeek I love her she’s aroace and she’s also here. She has a deep connection with spritual energy and stuff much like Mikey from Rottmnt or I think the 2003 Venus as well? I haven’t gotten that far in the 2k3 show yet so I don’t know much abt her but I heard she has strong mystic connections or smth. I absolutely love her design and I hope you do too.

He’s a bit like Rise Leo I guess but just more smooth and more serious on his training like every other Leo. I had him down as a tattle-tale at firs but then I decided nah. Oh also he’s the medic

Oh and I don’t think I mentioned but Donnie starts out as the leader cause he’s the oldest but eventually the title just moves liquidly through them until it lands on Leo. I had a little headcannon that I’ll never write down on paper but I keep up here that they be wingmen for each other when someone’s tryna impress a love interest they “hold” the leader title. See: Raph gets to be leader when they meet Mona Lisa.

I have Splinter, Mona, most other Mutants and almost Draxum’s concept designs on paper. I’ll post info on the creation some other time but maybe not. Maybe I’ll keep it to myself.

All I’ll say abt it for now is that the turtle’s creations were all at the fault of Splinter being an absolute disaster of a bisexual.

hm okay so if i were to narrow it down i think i would make it so they still were trained/raised by splinter but none of them were mutated. it has been. some time since i've seen tmnt so i can't quite remember if all the villains were mutants/monsters too or all the backstory details but if say the spill or mutagen had never happened then i wonder how that would change? i also would wonder how different dynamics would be if they weren't forced underground. lmk if you still need more specifics!

That’s great, Anon! Thanks for giving me a little more direction. I’m going to apologize in advance, because I got waaaay preoccupied with certain details, so it’s a lot more worldbuilding than it is putting together a definitive plot, but I’m hoping it still fits the ‘what would this entail?’ bill. Let me know if I missed the mark, though!

And standard disclaimer: even though this is an AU, it’s still heavily based on 2k3′s characters and versions of events. What can I say? It’s My Brand.

I’m not 100% sure what you meant by ‘none of them were mutated’, but I’m choosing to interpret that as something akin to Rise’s yokai situation, where non-humans are born that way. In this case, the “yokai” society and human society would be integrated, but that might be a newer development (within the past 100-300-ish years). TMNT has always used mutants, aliens and other non-humans as allegories for groups that have been discriminated against, and I feel like, even in a more tolerant setting, that would still stand. The humans and non-humans put up with each other, but aren’t on the best terms, and the humans are usually the aggressors. (I also want to make it clear that non-humans are human in all but body/looks-- some have features that provide some benefit or drawback (shells, for example), but there are no supernatural abilities inherently associated with it.)

Bear in mind that I’m writing this as someone who has only left the west coast to visit Ohio of all places, so if I make a Glaring New York Mistake, my bad. I feel like there’s no way the Hamatos live in New York County, so I’m going to tentatively say they’re based in the Bronx. Yes, I know. That was not the intention. Shenanigans can still happen in NYC, but I was breaking my own suspension of disbelief. There’s still some ninja-adjacent training, but most of it is more martial arts-focused-- both for protection in a potentially hostile world, and as a tradition. We still have the chain-of-adopted-parents-slash-teachers going, with Yoshi taking Splinter in, and Splinter raising the boys. An important butterfly-effect here is that if we’re classifying the Utrom as a subsect of non-humans, then a bunch of other stuff didn’t happen, and we could easily argue that Tang Shen would still be alive. She and Yoshi live together, and see their adoptive family somewhat regularly. In this version of events, I’m also thinking the guys know Casey from when they were kids. I could put together an AU variation of The Lesson to mesh with what we’ve already established, but this really isn’t the time.

Personality-wise, I don’t think a lot changes-- the most dramatic would probably be Leo, who, while still the eldest, doesn’t have the responsibility to lead his brothers. I mean, he still tries, but it’s less because he has to and more because of who he is as a person… and also because it drives his brothers up the wall. Splinter has the support of his own adoptive parents in this ‘verse, and I think that would take a lot of pressure of of Leo. Raph, while still frustrated with the state of the world, has learned better coping mechanisms and has more outlets to rely on; he’s easy/quick to rile up, but unless it’s something serious, he can deal with it, and he’d never go to any pipe extremes. I feel like, if anything, Donnie might inherit a bit of Raph’s temper; he’s still very much the ‘I want to help however I can’ humanitarian type, but would be fighting against all sorts of prejudices in order to do so. Still fairly self-conscious and thoroughly adorkable, though. Mikey still has his major vices, but he’s also in a situation where he can network properly, share his art and collaborate with other people, so I think that would become more of a focus for him, and he’d be a little more chill. Between Mike, Don and Raph, they know someone who can help with practically anything they need; Leo’s more reserved, and, while he can and does talk to other people, too much socializing can be a bit outside of his comfort zone.

So, in terms of plot, it feels appropriate to draw primarily from sociopolitical arcs. Thrilling, I know, but since the basis of this AU is ‘what if they lived on the surface’, I would want to focus on what all that entails. That being said, the Mouser intro is a series mainstay, and I don’t want to exclude all fantastic elements, but some things can/should probably be toned down. (I think current events have also proven that, even without the mutation danger, Outbreak would still be a perfectly viable threat.) So, maybe, under the guise of reducing the rat population, Stockman starts using the Mousers not to steal physical assets, but to collect data, which he then uses to anonymously blackmail/extort residents. This may or may not be part of a larger plan-- I wanted to draw inspiration from City at War in particular-- but I don’t have the galaxy brain to figure out what that is, right now. (Stockman’s the kind of recurring villain who, while people know he’s at fault, either can’t be definitively linked to an incident, or is just on the right side of the law. Every time he crops back up, people trust him less and less. Eventually, desperation drives him to work for/with Saki, and then Bishop, so he really should have quit while he was ahead, it’s just not a pun this time around.)

Just because I haven’t mentioned her yet, April’s definitely a part of this, but I’m not entirely sure how/where she fits in. I’m thinking that, instead of threatening her with the Mousers when she discovers what he’s been doing, Stockman might use some of his new connections to try to take her out as she goes home. Cue the classic rescue sequence. It’s kind of an abrupt change of topic, but I also want to keep the ‘Saki’s an Utrom’ reveal, though the impact is somewhat different here; I’m just not sure how to accomplish this without turning him into Sophia the Robot. There are so many things I haven’t even mentioned, and I feel bad that I haven’t really established a proper plot, but this is getting wildly out of hand, and I need to rein myself in.

As a parting point, in addition to City at War, I’d definitely want to incorporate parts of/themes from Still Nobody (wrt the Turks/gang recruitment), Garbageman (the homeless), and, of course, utilize the Purple Dragons.

TMNT 30 Day Challenge Day 25: What Would you like TMNT to Crossover with?

Ooo, this one is fun! I'm one of those people that actually really LOVES crossovers, provided that they are written well. I've seen so many ideas that are excellent but could just use a little fine tuning. My big thing with crossovers is that both (or more) universes  that are crossing over have to be relevant. It shouldn't be a case of "Oh Universe A is the real hero and Universe B is the damsel" I like to see the different sides work together.

So, first off, I will say that I love the idea of a TMNT multiverse where they can crossover with one another. While I did have some complaints with Turtles Forever, I still really enjoyed it! I've had my own ideas about how to resolve my issues with that crossover; namely, that the 80s Verse Turtles were actually hit with that 'Giggle Ray' Krang mentions prior to the adventure beginning due to a mess up by Bebop and Rocksteady which his why they act a bit OOC. I love to cross the 2k3 verse and the 80s verse and the NICK verse is fun too. I admit also to liking mixing in the PD movies with the multiverse. That is the utter joy of having a multiverse!

Outside of the multiverse? I'd love to see TMNT meet Gargoyles. Both of them exist within New York, they all take on the role of protector, though I think the Gargoyles would take a more active role. There are such potential for great interactions with these groups! Donnie and Lexington, Mikey and Broadway, Raphael and Brooklyn, Leonardo and Goliath, Splinter and Hudson.

 I have to say though what intrigues me the most is the turtles interacting with Demona. She has become the way she has because of how her kind was treated, how she was treated and I think for the turtles, who face the same kind of discrimination, it could be a real eye-opener. Might draw some attention to how important it is for them to process some of these emotions all their adventures create! I'm also totally seeing Mikey feeling sorry for Demona, even though she's doing all these horrible things.

Second? Ghostbusters. I know they did a comic book crossover but given I don't really keep up with the IDW comics (though it's on my list of things to catch up on) I am talking more about crossing the animated series. They all deal with the same kind of weird stuff and I can just see them becoming allies after starting with a major misunderstanding about the turtles being some kind of demon. Maybe the Ghostbusters could buffer some of the bad press the turtles get or cover for them when their covers are blown on occasion. Again, I really see some awesome potential with these characters interacting. Honestly, I always saw Mikey as able to get through Peter's rather gruff exterior. Mikey is good at that!

Third? Okay, so I realize this one is a bit odd but you know what? I read a fanfiction on it a while ago and it was freakin' awesome. Dragonball Z. The main reason I love this is because the concept of ki based attacks/techniques is not entirely out of the realm of possibility for the turtles. I think it could be a really neat way for Mikey to come into his own spiritual abilities. I have to say, I've had this idea in my head of Mikey training to go save his family, make use of the DBZ time chamber and come back so utterly in tune with his abilities that it's ridiculous.

The other thing that I admit to loving the idea of is using a young Gohan (Cell Games or younger) and having him interact with the turtles. Here is someone that has been through so much crap and has maintained that sweet outward nature. I just see so much potential for those interactions. It would definitely need to be a universe cross though. If you're interested, the fanfiction I've read is called "Saved by the Saiyan."

Plus, I mean, c'mon, there has never been a more appropriate character to launch the "Turtle Destructive Wave" than the TMNT.

Okay, am I the only one here who is absolutely DISGUSTED with “Rise of the TMNT”? I mean, come on! This is NOT TMNT! It’s Power Rangers combined with Teen Titans Go! The voice acting is horrible! The Turtles are more like the Three (Four, I mean) Stooges instead of badass yet loveable ninjas like in the 2012 series! Heck, even the campy 1987 TMNT series had better writing than this garbage! More importantly, where’s the heart? We can’t just have all humor! Drama is what made TMNT amazing! ☹️

Oh... I’m not really one for this because I like Power Rangers (totally saw the new movie in the theaters with my siblings and boyfriend) and Teen Titans Go! I also love Invader Zim, Final Space, and a bunch of other stuff people tend to frown upon.

I, for one, didn’t enjoy the weird drama that the 2012 series had, at least not with the relationships. To me it seemed all the female characters could do whatever they wanted and have no consequences and I hate that. I’m a firm believer that if you do something wrong you should get punished for it. But in that series April literally got away with murder and it was swept under the rug because she “only scattered Donnie’s molecules” and was able to bring him back. No, she fucking killed him and everyone was fine with it.

2003 series had a lot of drama in it too. A lot darker than 2012. 

Now, I know MANY people that are fans of the 2k3 series and not the 2k12 because of the same reasons you had mentioned.

Everyone has different tastes, and thankfully each time the TMNT series is rebooted it cators to another demographic. 

I find this new series to be a lot like the 87 series just modernized. It’s honestly the whole reason why I don’t like seeing “adult” drawings of this version of them (I’ll still reblog if it’s really well done art out of respect for the arts). I mean, Mikey is 13 in this series, I don’t need to see baby porn. 

I can’t speak for others but my whole attraction to this new series is that it doesn’t have the drama. My own personal life is already so full of drama that I can appreciate it when there is none in the shows I watch. 

I do suggest giving it another try but this time view it through the perspective that this is a stand alone cartoon, that there were never previous series or movies, this is brand new idea and has nothing to do with anything else. It might surprise you.

I’ve got a full time job and I’m coming back from a loooong haitus of @deusxmachiina-a - I mention this, because I am going to be selective with interactions. I will not respond to all requests for roleplaying and I will pick and choose who I roleplay with. 

This blog is 18+. While I do not do NSFW, I have decided that I am just more comfortable roleplaying with people in their majority. If you are under 18, you are more than welcome to enjoy this blog and send in questions or character memes, but there will be no IC interaction.

This blog is not t-cest friendly. I don’t mind roleplaying with t-cest blogs, as long as all IC interactions are t-cest free.

Multi-verse friendly. I don’t mind roleplaying outside my fandom so if you think our characters would be a good fit, send me an ask! 

I am flexible with styles. I can do short/medium or long form roleplays. I tend to be wordy, so don’t be shocked if a 400 word post suddenly gets a 2000 word answer. Sometimes it just be like that,

I only track NAMED THREADS. Other interactions will be labelled as IC. Feel free to remind me if you are waiting for a reply for either IC or named threads, but do not harass me for posts. You will be ignored.

I’m not a fan of insta-romances or insta-relationships in general. Donatello is a mutant ninja who has lived in secrecy all his life. While he is kind and friendly, he is also overly cautious to the point of paranoia. No, your OC will not know where the lair is. Even Harold doesn’t know where the lair is. I ship chemistry. And maybe some Jhanna/Donatello, MonaLisa/Donatello, leavemealone.

If I write with someone you don’t like, or if I interact with a fandom you don’t like, that is something you can ask me to tag for you. I’ll create a trigger warning and make sure to do my best to keep it off your dashboard.  But unless you have some SERIOUSLY good evidence as to why said thing deserves to be cancelled, you do not and will not tell me what I can or can’t enjoy. I respect that people may have had problematic experiences with certain fandoms, and I support everyones right to a dashboard that they are comfortable with. But I’m not going to pretend that drama doesn’t happen for drama’s sake and yeah, Send me a DM, we’ll work something out, but do not tell me what I can and can’t post.

I think that -in 2k3 series- they all work more like a team, because they are ninja. They all have their basic roles (like don being super good with technology, standard genius and good with social relations outside the team), but also all of them have supportive roles -they work as a ninja team and that is important for it-. Now i think a lot of ppl get leo super wrong. He doesnt claim to be perfect, he is a perfectionist (and that is a virtue but more important, a flaw). At the beggining of the series, he acts very bossy and like an 'alpha' brother, because he is inmature (like most of them at the start of the series) -he just took donnie's phone while he is talkin, stop Raph by the shell when they'r goin up, stuff like that, by force- well, because he think is the most efficient way. Of corse, during all the series, he evolves and changes a lot (like the others in their own way). By the middle of the series, he stops using these methods and instead (for example) ask donnie about things -normally when the team is confronting a problem- and also asks if it could be solved by a way. He is efficient but acts as part of a team alright.

Now about his perfectionism, its really useful for following ninjitsu. A trait of him is that he needs to hold up to something (he is obsessive), so ninjitsu and bushido does great for him. So he trains all time. Its his main hobby. Also because of being a perfectionist instructed in bushido (if you know bout it) he must serve and respect his master. Its a rule of the code. The bad side of being a perfectionist person -one of the many bad things- is that you feel like you must do everything perfect (duh) so you get upset bout weird stuff like not being able to (for example) draw exactly what you are thinking. In Leo's mind, for putting an example, there is this episode in which he complains to raph that he cannot aim at something efficiently and beautifully at the same time. Why for? because those are the instructions and it should be that way.

Now, about fighting, i think he is the best fighter. He likes to use his swords and do extra movements with them, but he relays more on his legs in real fights. Why i think he is the best fighter? Well for an example, because he always beats everyone in the trainings and reacts better in battle. (Don, who likes to do other things instead of training, is corrected many times by splinter about his postures while fighting, also sometimes he freezes or panic, and that makes sense cause he does many other freakin things appart of fighting... I also think he punches like a damn monster because of all his machine building stuff) an other example is that he waits for fighting. By the end of the series (excluding most of season 5 and all the rest because i think there is a lot of bad writting *nickelodeon and rights away from Laird*), after all the ancient one thing, he fight less but stand and reacts when needed (as a better class bushido warrior) cause he is watching the entire battle and doesnt show more than needed (old style japanese warriors dont show their fight levels if not necesary, they fight just slightest better than their opponent)

When against a strong opponent, like Karai, he fights like this and at the end just showed her that he could kill her, as a warning, then left.

This kind of battle is used mostly with katana, cause its a weapon made for kill hopefully at one strike and depends on how good you are. (Its a delicate sword that really depends on the owner)

The weird and problematic thing about this (and i think of the misunderstanding of this character) is that is based on a comic -not for kids- so there is a lot of killing and blood.

Leo cannot kill one to another and another guy like is nothing. He cannot follow his own path appart of splinter after finishing his learning or being in disagreement with him -just as splinter cannot send his ninja to his own revenge quests- so there is this loop in which Leo is always very obedient, but it is for his own training.

Oof yeah Im sorry this is long and boring.

Last thing, I promise

About the leadership... its a ninja team, but not a classic one. They dont have a ninja clan leader, they have a father and an informal tactical leader. They just ended up followin Leo in stuff and trusting him, because he is the more qualified in most situations. But many times they relay on Donnie, cause he is the best at what he does. Aaaand also thats why i love this damn team so much

You know while Leonardo is the one claimed to be the near perfect one, I actually think Donatello is the perfect one not because I favor him or whatever but hes got the brain and the brawn. Leo wouldnt be able to function as well as a leader or play the role of calm older brother without him. I think Leo knows this and in a way kind of looks up to donnie for both his calm demenor and his smarts. Leo has to train twice as hard to basically be on the same level as his brothers. What do you think?

it is canon that leo depends on don’s ideas a lot on the show. about the calm leader HEEH idk sometimes fon contributes to that, other times he dont bc he goofs around with raph n mike a lot, but then again everyone can be calm around him! hes just a chill lil dude
