Honestly for the small flaws it does have, I did overall really like Ashes of the Academy. Like, perhaps it's because of the all-girl's school trauma that I like to brag about ❤️, but I do genuinely like Mai's character development in it, and it warms my heart to see her grow.
I think (or at least I like to think) that a lot of what I expected Mai's character development would be in the comic in my post before the comic came out was on the right track, so I'll try not to repeat myself too much here.

For some reason this panel hit really hard lmao. In a hopeful way
I think my observation that Mai was often forced into things she didn't want, mainly by her parents chasing status, and later Azula. This is, most likely, why she pushed down her emotions, since in her adolescence, her emotions and desires did little to help her. Of course, this led to Mai struggling to express herself and using mainly passive aggressiveness to get through negative emotions.

Though I don't know how I feel about the comics seemingly completely handwaving Michi's involvement in how Mai was brought up. Michi seemed to be at least eager to bolster Ukano's political career at the cost of Mai's psychological wellbeing, mainly being the one to quash Mai's self expression and even scaring her with stories of evil spirits. Also the potential Tom Tom neglect but we won't talk abt that right now.
Mai : My mother said I had to keep out of trouble. We had my dad's political career to think about.
But this isn't too much of a retcon, I suppose, more of a... recontextualisation. Michi could just be incredibly unaware, and, once she realised her husband wasn't great, she decided to step up and try to do better as a parent. Which is commendable.
I know a lot of people were a bit upset about the notion that Azula and Mai's friendship wasn't "organic", but rather due to Mai being pressured into it by her father, as Mai and Azula seemed at least a little bit fond of each other in the show.
Though I don't think this necessarily duscredits Azula and Mai's relationship. I think it was always a complex thing, with both characters having a lot of layers to themselves and their interactions. And Mai befriending Azula at her father's behest doesn't mean she stayed Azula's friend for that reason. We see that Azula had many sycophants, but seemingly only her relationships with Ty Lee and Mai endured.

I also know some people disliked that Mai wasn't a "meanie" like Azula, but, honestly, just because she wasn't as eager and active about it as Azula. Though it is important to note that Mai is implied to have participlated in Azula's bullying (throwing le knives at your fellow middle schoolers may be a little more than bullying though), as well as being complacent in Azula's bullying of others. Which, if you haven't been bullied before, even if only one person is actively bullying you, there's a whole lot of difference between them being alone, and then having a friend standing there menacingly.
And we've already seen that Mai will often do the bare minimum for Azula, and even shunning her "duties" if she thinks she can get away with it.

I think, boiled down to its bare essentials, "Ashes of the Academy" is about characters in the Fire Nation who were previously complacent despite potential doubts taking an active role in dismantling the Fire Nation's harmful traditions and unlearning their compliance.
This is where the mild parallels between Mai and headmistress Shihan come in. They're both characters who were complacent in their environments, bolstering the power of dangerous people and systems just by keeping their heads down. It was safer, easier to comply.
Shihan grew to become one of the Fire Nation's regime's upholders, directly contributing to the indoctrination of new generations. Mai could've easily followed a similar path, if it weren't for Zuko. While I don't think, at the time of atla, she shared much of his 'redeemed worldview', he was still someone she cared for, someone she was willing to rebel for. And it was the first step of Mai unlearing what had been drilled into her from her childhood.
And although the Gene Luen Yang comics weren't the most graceful about this, we did see Mai growing to be more opinionated and genuinely believe in dismantling the system. Once she realised it was possible, and she had gotten more freedom in her life, she grew as a person. Shocker.
It's also important to note that it was, in essence, Zuko who showed her that rebellion is possible. Which is another reason to as why she may have been so hurt when he left. They both felt trapped by the Fire Nation, but alleviated each other's misery. And then, from Mai's perspective, Zuko abandoned her, going somewhere that she wasn't aware she could follow.

However, Mai has, by the time "Ashes of the academy" happened, learnt that she can, in fact, follow Zuko in rejecting the restrictions their upbringings' had placed on them. And that she can, like he did, inspire others, like Shihan and the children, to strive for a better tomorrow. It's all very sweet actually.
It also makes me happy to see that they've both grown so much and gotten healthier since we last saw them. It makes me happy to see Mai tell Zuko whrn she has an issue with something he's done instead of letting it boil over until she blows up at him. And that Zuko is learning to trust again, and to share the burdens of ruling the Fire Nation.

It makes me happy to see them grow, and it does give me hope for the future of maiko. Do that's nice. I know we didn't get much content that is "technically" shippy, but this is very good groundwork, and I'd rather this than for them to get back again and be handled poorly again.
#this sounds like gloating i promise you its not im just mai pilled rn#not sure if mai is an underrated fav. whats the online consensus on her#also announcing myself as the Internet's only shihan stan#i need to do more Mai metas I love her and theres so much I want to talk abt with her#mai#maiko#zuko#azula#ukano#michi#headmistress Shihan#ashes of the academy#avatar#atla#avatar: the last airbender#the last airbender

May I request a Choso!Reader with Alastor and Rosie (separated) if you write for her too, I think I would be adorable to see how the dynamic would work.
Hehe! Aww! I’d love to write for Rosie. Alastor and Rosie, they are cute. Very cute! I suppose I can try this but I am not sure what could come out of it! I do like Choso as well so let’s go! Rosie is personally my favourite female character in Hazbin! Sorry. This was SOOO hard to write for!
Alastor

You’re a quiet and mellow person, kinda just fading in the background, overshadowed by the much more interesting people. By whilst your personality isn’t winning any rewards, your powers, your skills and your loyalty to your brothers are
Alastor finds your power incredible. Blood manipulation, producing beams of blood that can cut limbs off. He likes a fighter capable of mass destruction and he is already interested in you when he sees you with your little villain group just reluctantly fighting
Alastor does try to befriend you but it’s kinda hard. You’re bored and uninterested. The only way you’ll pay attention is when somebody is proven to you and trust me, Alastor proves himself and afterwards, you’re being protective over him
Working with him and even calling him your ‘little brother’. Whilst it took a bit to develop your likeness towards the Radio Demon, it’s quite strong now and you enjoy spending time with him. Listening to him silently and giving out both straightforward yet wise advice, based on your many years of experience
“My dear. Want to play some chess with me? If you do, please don’t break the pieces again”
Rosie

Rosie wasn’t suspecting to ever meet somebody like you. A mellow, controlled and yet very caring and powerful sinner with the ability to manipulate and attack with their own blood in such a violent way. You’re definitely a unique one and she can’t help but keep her nonexistent eyes on you. She wonders what you’re like behind that image
As suspected, it’s quite hard to get you to like her or even look at her. You just stick around this ‘villain’ group and only ever show interest when she proves herself to you as a good ally. Then, when that happens, you switch from that group to the Cannibal District, overwatching Rosie and following her around like a bodyguard. With your power, you should be her bodyguard
You know Rosie loves the fact you’re the oldest sibling of around nine other siblings. She likes cute families and she commends that but as well, she’s insanely shocked when you begin to call her your ‘little sister’ and be brutally protective over her. She is an Overlord, whilst not a magically powerful one, but an Overlord and you’re protecting her?!
Rosie doesn’t mind you being so quiet and almost bored. It’s much better than people being so loud, you two can just enjoy tea and sweets together without much words needed. Instead, she can just speak to you and you can give off as much wisdom and advice as you can to try help make her a better ruler
“Oh? Darling… what’s wrong? You’re crying… you’re crying over the people? Why?”

So, I'm gonna preface this ask by saying: the beautiful Pony!Calamity Trio art you did on the Amphibia shared-canvas-thing got me thinking A LOT about the finer details of the Trio as Ponies–
That being said, after spending far too long pondering the subject myself, I'm curious— do you have any ideas for what the Trio's names would be as Ponies?
— @knave-of-clubs
(doodles in question for those who weren’t on this aggie a while back)

thank you!! they were fun to design! i have colored fullbodies of their show-age designs in the works too (sasha’s is done, marcy’s is lined, anne’s is sketched), so i wanted to try out rough concepts for their future designs as well. i’m sure i’ll make fullbody refs for their timeskip designs too at some point, though these are just kind of a “whenever i feel like it” project more than something actually on my to-do list, so not sure when that’ll be. i HAVE to make a darcy design too tho, it just sounds like the coolest thing ever.
the designs were mostly just for fun, so i don’t have a lot of the details figured out about the au as a whole, except that their species were chosen to align the “hierarchy” of their respective amphibians with the “hierarchy” of the pony species. plus they just fit the vibes this way.
it seems like it would be pretty similar to the show, honestly. they would still look just as weird to the amphibians as they did as humans, and the plot and character arcs wouldn’t change much from thinking off the top of my head. andrias’ desire for human tech would be a moot point because ponies don’t rely on tech of the same kind/the same way, but that’s not to say he wouldn’t absolutely find use of the ponies’ magic, especially if he found a way to harness it. i can see him really being intrigued by it after befriending marcy and seeing the power she holds in her horn even while possessed by the core (especially since unicorn marcy is likely to be incredibly gifted in magic)
i don’t think anne would gain her wings and horn when using her partial powers throughout tc and s3, but i think it makes sense/would be cool for the calamity powers to grant all three of them temporary alicorn status when fully activated. “the powers must stack when used in tandem! classic synergy buff” as marcy would put it. but the power isn’t everything, of course, and anne’s heart and sacrifice are still the factors that ultimately win the war for them.
as for names, i’ve thought some about it but haven’t really gotten to any definitive conclusions. their warrior cat names came to me pretty instinctively but pony names feel much harder 😭
it would be really cool if each of them had something tying back their calamity trait ingrained in their names from the start, tying them to the prophecy long before they became remotely aware of it, but i’m not sure what words would make the names still sound natural and not obvious. ofc the prophecy’s not the only substantial thing about them and shouldn’t define them, it’s just cool in a “woooaahh it’s always been our destiny” kind of way. but not sold on it bc i can’t come up with any particular ideas lmao, plus i was already planning on incorporating the “three stars” part of it into each of their cutie marks so it’s not a concept i’ll likely likely end up sticking with. but as for specific thoughts for each girl, here’s where i’m at:
• i can see the “bright” from waybright being used as part of sasha’s name, and can see it suiting her. i feel like a fiery, warm, powerful feeling to her name in general suits her really well, both pre and post-redemption. she’s a protector at heart, it just takes her a while to learn to do it right, and that feels like it should reflect in her name. bright, wing, ember, blaze, flame, spark, etc. are all words i’ve considered for her, just haven’t settled on anything that really feels like her yet even though she’s the one i have the most ideas for
• anne is transfem to me in every universe, so her name needs to feel to me like something she would pick herself. pretty and feminine but not dainty. maybe floral. Lilypad Lotus is where i’m leaning. lotus like in my warrior name for her ties her back to her thai culture again which i’m also all for, and it just really suits her. i can also see her liking lilypad as part of her name, chosen before amphibia just because she thought it was pretty. her being kind of inexplicably drawn to it, only for the tangential relation to frogs to become such a massive part of her identity later. her “first name” being her own like in the show with her “last name” still being hers but also a draw back to her heritage, which would no doubt be different as a pony, but still could parallel the thai culture as much as possible
• marcy on the other hand has me completely stuck. she feels like she should be easy, but she isn’t. her character is too big to simplify her name down to her hobbies and interests like some pony names. the principles i used choosing her warrior name don’t really align here, because her warrior name is sparrowflight but she’s not a pegasus, so it doesn’t feel correct. i’d like some option where she can keep her plethora of nicknames (mar-mar, marbles, marshmallow, etc. having marble in her name somewhere might even be good), because that way she’d also have some tie back to her human name like if we were to use bright and lotus. some sort of name highlighting her intelligence feels right (i would probably say “bright” if it didn’t feel more right to give that to sasha), but it’s also not her only characteristic and shouldn’t be treated like all she’s good for, so it would have to be a healthy combination. a name highlighting her energy and hyperactivity as well makes sense pre-amphibia, but she definitely mellows out a lot after, so it would still need to be flexible enough to still feel like marcy at every period in her life. she’s still excitable and bouncy (eventually), but she’s an artist— she does Not have that kind of energy anymore 💀 we don’t know how connected to her culture she is, but we know she’s canonically fluent in mandarin at the very least, so there’s definitely a case to be made for choosing a taiwanese/chinese-inspired name somewhere in hers too, though i wouldn’t have any ideas without doing some more research first. and the whole thing gets even MORE complicated when you realize her name has to easily change to something else to become darcy’s name. there’s so many angles you could take marcy’s name in that there really doesn’t feel like an obvious answer
i’m definitely open to name suggestions for all three and cutie mark ideas for marcy and sasha (i already have one for anne. vague idea for sasha that i may just need to develop more, but once again stuck on marcy) if anyone has other ideas! i have a lot of fun making crossovers like this so i’m happy to receive more potential inspiration lmao

My personal undertale headcanon is that Flowey isn’t emotionless and incapable of connecting with others because he lacks a soul or is inherently “bad”, it’s because he was deeply traumatized from watching his best friend/sibling kill themselves in an incredibly painful way only to die violently himself hours later at like, the age of 11?
That would break anybody. To make things even worse, he woke up an undisclosed amount of time later in a body wholly alien to him, unable to move, completely alone until Asgore found him. If that wasn’t bad enough he then had to directly face the consequences of his and Chara’s plan, and the deep pain that it caused everyone in the underground. His father, the king? Broken. His mother? Missing. His people? Devastated and hopeless. Chara? Gone.
And to make things just that much worse, when the pain and grief of everything gets too much for him, and he deems himself broken beyond repair and decides to take his life he finds out that he has complete control over time itself.
He then spends an unimaginable amount of time experimenting with this power, constantly trying to do the right thing, constantly trying to help people and make the world better. But he’s never satisfied. He’s never happy. He does this, again and again and again. He grows older and older but never actually ages, he sinks deeper and deeper into his own tiny world, becoming even more distant and disconnected from the people around him as situations repeat themselves and peoples lives loop and loop without end.
Eventually he becomes so unbearingly bored of the endless, unescapable cycle that he starts to experiment with more negative situations. Afterall, his actions no longer have consequences, right? Anything he does, he can and will undo eventually. Even the most horrific actions hold no weight in Flowey’s impermanent world. The only person who ever has to deal with the consequences of Flowey’s actions… Is Flowey himself.
So he does it. Slipping deeper and deeper into his delusions. Falling deeper and deeper into genuine insanity as the years repeat themselves onto eternity and Flowey disconnects completely from the world around him.
At this point, he feels that he’s experienced quite literally everything the world has to offer. He probably lived as Flowey far longer than he ever did as Asriel by now. He’s befriended everyone, he’s hurt everyone. He’s saved everyone, he’s killed everyone. He’s done everything. Even violence doesn’t interest him anymore. So what does he do? He stops.
I’ve always wondered how Frisk even had the chance to fall into Mt. Ebott and usurp Flowey of his powers if he was constantly resetting the timeline, but I think I finally get it.
Flowey probably just… Stopped completely at some point. He stopped resetting, stopped interacting with the world and sat himself at his best friend's grave and just… waited. Waited for something, anything new to happen. Eventually enough time passed for a new human to fall, a human who inherently overpowers Flowey’s control of the timeline and so, for the first time in what must have felt like eternity Flowey was finally free from his power.
-
After everything that Asriel experienced leading up to and during his death, he probably would have needed intense therapy to overcome the trauma. But that’s not what he got was it? He didn’t get therapy. He didn’t get the chance to heal. He got the powers of a god and the curse of his actions no longer having consequences. I don’t believe Flowey is incapable of connecting with others or feeling true happiness or love. I think that’s just a lie he told himself so his situation wouldn’t hurt as much.
-
But, even after all of that I believe Flowey still has a chance at happiness. We see his character shift dramatically after the Omega Flowey fight. After he is once again stripped of his power over time, he has an intense moment of vulnerability that shows what I believe to be his true colors, followed by him coaching Frisk on how to get a better ending for everyone.
Sure, this was likely a trap for Flowey to take everyone’s souls, but once again, after his defeat as Asriel and returning to Flowey’s form, he has yet another character shift.
He’s genuinely happy at this ending. He’s happy that everyone escaped the underground, happy that Frisk gets to live their life. He begs the player to just leave everyone to their lives and to move on themselves. He doesn’t want his power back, he doesn’t want the cycle to continue anymore.
For the first time in god knows how long, Flowey is satisfied.
And maybe if the alarm clock dialogue is anything to go by, given time Flowey can finally heal. Flowey can finally find happiness and love again.

[This is not a request, i judt had this idea and wanted to share with someone :DD]
Penacony 2.2 story spoiler!
OKAY, thinking about my aventurine yuu idea, I just couldn't stop thinking about my other faves as students in NRC, and a bit of expanding Aventurine's character. Pretty much, certain characters and what dorm I think they would be in, and some get an Unique Magic :DD
Aventurine - Like I said, I highly believe he matches Octavinelle. Shady dorm for a shady guy? Great combo. He would 100% befriend the Octotrio, and probably entrust one of them with his past. He also doesn't wear his uniform right, pretty much just the buttonedup shirt and a bow tie, no jacket. His Unique Magic: "All or Nothing" (Really creative if you ask me), has a 50/50 percentage chance of working. What does it do? Pretty much, by chance, can either completely ignore a spell/curse, or make it even worse/more powerful. Would you like to try your luck ;)
Dr Ratio - Veritas is a fun one but there is something that couldn't escape me. He is 100% Scarabia, why? Scarabia is home to some of the most intellectual students AND is academic rival to Octavinelle, if you catch my drift >:)). No Unique Magic, Aven would annoy the hell out of him bc of this.
Sunday - (My baby man :(( pls be playable) Heartslabyul. Is there a more perfect dorm for a man like Sunday? He would know every single one of the 810 rules from head to toe and follow them diligently, even punish those who don't. Riddle enjoys his company due to it. Unique Magic? "Satisfaction", allows him to manipulate and distort people's memories and emotions, making them perfects mannequins. (Was probably banned from using this Magic due to how dangerous it can be...) [Probably collapsed nentally after Riddle's Overblot, almost overblotting himself]
Argenti - I'd like to say Pomefiore bc beauty and all that, but then I had a funny thought... Savanaclaw. Imagine, seeing this pretty student, almost a real life prince, picture perfect, wearing the Savanaclaw's uniform, priceless. As a Knight, Argenti has incredible physical abilities and he is not afraid to use and get dirty, so Savanaclaw matches him kinda well. Him and Rook would be absolute menaces with each other, Vil would 100% try to make a deal with Leona to change his dorm. No Unique Magic :((
Last but not least, my baby son, Misha - His dorm? 100% Diasomnia. Despite his youthful appearance (Unlike Lilia, he is actually "young"), he has an impressive magic control and abilities, surprising even his classmates. A 1st Year. Unique Magic? Yes, and I'm in a bit of doubt between two. One based on his technique where he is able to stop time in a small "dimension" he creates, or, being able to bring whatever people dream about into reality (although, as an illusion).
THIS WAS LONG I'M SO SORRY 😭
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH OMG i loved misha’s the most (totally not favoritism) BUT YOURE SO RIGHTT OMYG
also Dr.Ratio!Yuu is so funny to me like just imagine him wearing that mask that he wears in hsr around the campus as he gets judgemental stares CACKLINGHH

grabs ur hands dm ur reasoning rn *looks at you with my big eyes*
YOU GUYS ARE PEER PRESSURING ME WTF... but ok im just gonna post it here then hi tc thank u for the ask :) going under the read more because my initial ramblings were literally 3k but let me see if i can chop it down. cw: LONG. also pic for reference so we know what im talking about
so the placements all assume the only headcanon thats real going into this is that the morgans are siblings. no canon second parents which means no chrom!inigo or anything like that they all have single moms or whatever idk not important but just clarifying none of that is impacting their placements because i dont want to think about that
black eagle placements were the most fun because the fun thing about that route is that it splits into two more! one thing thats always bothered me is that when that route splits, the only thing that changes is that you either lose edelgard or hubert or you lose flayn. are you really telling me those are the only three students with enough free will to not let byleth pick the rest of their life for them? ferdinand would NOT go to the church i dont care!!! this is something they fixed (kind of) in warriors but in general when picking the black eagles i wanted to keep that in mind too
so kjelle was the first character i looked at and went “i know where you go.” i think she looks at edelgard and goes “you are everything i want to be and more” because what edelgard fights for and how she accomplishes it. kjelle is a very “the strong must protect the weak by any means necessary” which is kind of harsh when its presented to the player in awakening but it is literally edelgard’s whole philosophy. and kjelle is very egotistical (not hate i love her ass so much underrated fav!!) she thinks incredibly highly of herself so for her to bow down to anyone they would have to 1) echo her ideals and 2) be stronger than her. sorry shes never bending the knee to dimitri and claude i dont give a fuck she doesnt like those men. i think she’d understand edelgard’s idea of putting power in human hands and fully commit to the ends justify the means. this isnt really a gameplay rewrite thing im trying to do but if byleth picked the church she would leave. also… please. please please consider edelkjelle… okay guys… for me……..
on the opposite side nah was my second immediate “ohh i know what im doing with you” and its because if byleth picks edelgard, shes out!! granted, i could just put her with lions or deer but how is that fun. its not. nah, being a manakete, would probably be much more understanding of rhea and willing to reach out. being a manakete is probably a pretty isolating experience for her, ylisse or fodlan or otherwise, so i think her finding solace with rhea and flayn and seteth during her time at the academy would allow her to get closer to people more like her, and understand on some level why rhea is the way she is and why governs the way she does. though, still being housemates, she’d befriend edelgard and i think she’d admire edelgard’s conviction and maturity during the academy arc. but when edelgard betrays the church i think she’d take that very hard, and i dont think anything edelgard would say to her would get her to turn on what is basically the family she never got to have (theres also second gen angst potential in here somewhere…)
inigo was interesting to think about and i did almost saddle him in with golden deer but i like the potential of him with edelgard a lot more when i really sat down and thought about it. im pulling more from his characterization as laslow i think but at first i wasn’t really sure if i had a case for him picking between the empire and the church but i decided to go with the empire because i do think in the time he has with edelgard, he’d be a voice of reason for her (to hubert’s dismay). edelgard’s problem is that she has literally no outsider pov and is going based on her own sense of justice that, while its based in good intentions, has a lot of unintended consequences and failure to acknowledge how it impacts everyone else. i think inigo could take a unique role, similar to ferdinand (or lorenz to claude, felix to dimitri) in that he challenges edelgard but on a much more friendlier level. the thing about how that role normally plays out is that its formed on some personal grievance rather than genuine better interest of the people, and i think of all the lords, edelgard needs a friend the most (its why shes so attached to byleth???). and just looking at how hes able to handle xander in fates and how much more introspective he becomes, i think it’d play out similarly here. also i think with the forces of him and dorothea combined they would give ferdinand the worst bisexual panic of his life. ik i mentioned felix/inigo WHICH I STILL LIKE but imagine the layer of angst if they are on opposing sides… ok thanks
was on the fence about gerome until beloved mutual (hi woocy :3) convinced me he would be beagle and im completely down with that. for me, i struck out blue lions immediately. so after that its just a matter of do i think he fits in better with BE or GD and quite honestly. for some reason golden deer gets the rep of being the meme house but aside from lorenz looking a little funny anf claude putting up a facade YOU ALL FELL FOR this straight up is not true. the funny house is black eagles and by GOD it would piss gerome off to be there. i dont think they chose their houses, by the way. i think they got to fodlan and rhea vibe checked all of them immediately so he didnt have a say in this. not only is he stuck with inigo, hes stuck with watching kjelle—the strongest warrior ever probably the only one in the second to match him in terms of raw strength—stumble over herself over their house leader because wwaauuw women pretty LIKE COME ONNNN. though, i do think he’d respect edelgard for her strength, and theres a lot of interesting dynamics for him to explore. dorothea pissing him off, bonding with petra over their enjoyment for wildlife, he would definitely be training partners with caspar, and i think he’d actually be like. really good at talking to bernadetta? maybe seeing her reminds him of how he was when he was younger. maybe he gets her out by introducing her to minerva. much to think about. but in general he would keep mostly to himself with standard gerome “cant get close to people that i cant guarantee will stay with me” fashion i think he probably wouldnt be as close as say someone like inigo or nah would be with the house. so when the time to choose a side comes… i dont think he’d have the relationship with edelgard to pick her. i think he would oppose her ideals, and go with nah, if not flee fodlan entirely because omfg who careeesss…. WHO CAREEESS his ass is in wyvern valley (no i think he’d fight. but he’d def consider dipping)
m!morgan is here because i think it would challenge him. guy who is so cute so earnest so ready to be happy in school learning everything hes ever wanted hoping to come home and make momma proud and oh my god he got put in the most crazy house imaginable. whoever his professor is is probably like wow morgan you have a gift for tactics! why dont you try managing the class for a mission? and being morgan he’d go YES ABSOLUTELY!!! unfortunately this house has hubert. and ferdinand. and bernadetta. and linhardt. and caspar. the thing about robin and the shepherds is that most people immediately respected robin as their tactician and robin was able to connect and befriend most of them fairly easily because they were mostly all sane and normal people. the black eagles are most definitely not and have you guys seen that black eagles seating chart post? well. i just think it’d give morgan a hard time and between him and f!morgan its funnier if its him. also splitting him from the justice cabal for timeskip angst sorry. also i think it’d be cool if he took edelgards side. i dont actually know which way he’d lean thats a tossup like this is a character that i could believe would trust byleth’s judgement and go with them but if its edelgard i think that could set up fun conflict between him and nah. grima vs naga part 2!! though i actually did have him for blue lions first if only because of the three houses the blue lions probably need a tactician type the best but. i like this one better.
so for blue lions i immediately clocked owain like look at this guy. i think owain would see the house of cool knightly chivalrous types fighting for justice and being cool and having swords and i just think he’d be in heaven. i also think, to him, dimitri would be a figure to look up to similar to lucina, but with the difference that they are not family and owain might put him on an even higher pedestal because theres this sense of familiarity he had with lucina thats not really there anymore? kind of similar to ashe and dimitri. and when the timeskip comes, i think he’d be endlessly devoted to dimitri even still, never forgetting who he was before and striving to bring him back, still thinking of this idolized version of him, even if it puts himself at risk. i also think in general, owain would thrive in the blue lions house. felix, ashe, ingrid, dedue, annette— those are all prime support partners for him that have a lot of potential. the blue lion house is very… the way that they are. and something owain shows in fates is that though hes very good at using his theatrics to ease people, whether that be on purpose or otherwise, and by god do the blue lions need it. look at them… jesus.
cynthia is in the blue lion house for similar reasons but i think she has a key difference from owain. while i think owain is the type to go down with the ship, i think cynthia might actually serve as an opposition to dimitri and potentially go against him in a similar fashion to felix and annette in thats hidden in the games files and was never put in the game (WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. dimitri doesnt get enough push back in azure moon!! another post for another time though). in their time at the academy, while owain is fangirling over dimitri, i think cynthia would too at first. but fodlan is very different than ylisse, and in particular faerghus treats its knights and specifically women knights very differently than cynthia wouldve otherwise been treated. i think this would push cynthia into questioning faerghus’s ideals (especially in getting close to ingrid who im sure she’d find friendship in) and eventually dimitri in how he seemingly upholds those ideals. when he goes down a darker path in the timeskip, she’d probably take felix’s more critical approach, and i think she could turn on him. for the empire? probably not. but i dont think she’d be as down as owain or ingrid to keep following him when hes not taking accountability for what hes doing. she might find her way back once hes come back to himself but who really knows. not me (<- girl who is writing all of this)
yarnes a funny pick because lions are supposed to be brave and fearless and hes a Rabbit. but obviously yarne would be very aware of that irony and i think it could serve as a push for him to come into that bravery, and thats something i think the lion house could help him do. i think he’d look to dimitri for solace similar to how he does with lucina, and dimitri would be very happy to provide that for him. when the timeskip comes and dimitri is lost, i think yarne would have to find it in himself to abandon that anxiety for a bit to come help ease dimitri, sort of repaying him for his initial kindness (read: i want eyepatch scary dimitri to find stress relief in petting a big ass bunny). also i dont need yarne to be in the same house as petra and marianne for him to interact with them. dont worry thats a thing. also if youre a real one you recruit marianne to blue lions everytime. no i dont know how they’d handle bringing a taguel to fodlan i dont really care either
for severa i think, even if she would rather not admit it, justice and loyalty are very key parts of her character. its buried underneath her mean girl attitude and like five pounds of trauma but its there. and what are the blue lions if not loyal knights with very LOUD auras of sadness? she would be similar to felix in terms of their views on knighthood, and obviously her whole thing with cordelia would put her at odds with the whole dying for your king/for glory thing faerghus has going on. similar to cynthia she’d be very critical of faerghus and dimitri except she’d be that way to his face. she doesnt have the same personal beef with him the same way felix would, and might be a little more like how i imagined inigo would be to edelgard, criticism with the better interest of the greater good rather than formed of personal beef. in the end though, i think she would stick with dimitri. also i think she’d have insane sexual tension with ingrid like i dont think theyd like eachother but like. my vision… do you see it.
bradys in lions partially due to mutual influence (hi zorua) but also because i ended up liking his potential with the lions as opposed to the deer or eagles. he’d have a very cute friendship with mercedes and annette i think, playing violin for them and having tea party gossip sessions. i think he and dedue could bond over being kinda scary but doing what they can to ease people’s fear of them. since thats an insecurity for both of them that brady purposefully takes steps to get rid of (ex: him hunching over is so that he can be eye level with children and people shorter with them so as not to come off as intimidating or more powerful) i think brady could help with that. though if im being so real i dont think he would like dimitri. i think he would stay and stick around and help dimitri get better. but i dont think he’d approve of his bloodlust and be very open with his issues in regards to how dimitri handles and carries himself. sorry guys im not meaning to have dimitri catch so many strays here 😭 i love the guy i just also like when theres conflict here i promise
laurent is in the golden deer because i think he and claude would be very like minded people in terms of trying to discover the secrets behind fodlan and what that means and how to better navigate fodlan as uncharted territory. theyre both foreigners, as are all of the second gen kids, but thats something claude keeps under wraps that i think laurent would be able to tell very quickly (not that it was hard. claude doesnt hide it well its just that everyone in fodlan is either stupid or all the smart people are kept away from him) that claude is from almyra. i think this knowledge could help him serve as something of a confidant to claude. obviously he wouldnt tell laurent everything but when claudes supposed closest allies are lorenz (guy who hates him and prays for his downfall) and hilda (girl who is racist and from a racist family) its just like. well maybe claude should have another friend who is normal adjacent at least, and laurents not the type to go blabbing anyways. obviously both lorenz and hilda (eh. well.) get better about their mindsets post timeskip but i think in the time of the academy laurent would be a very valuable friend for claude and vice versa. in general laurent would do well anywhere because i think most of his interest would be with the technological and scientific advancements of fodlan which is flexible, but i think, with rhea purposefully halting progress and claude being the main guy who wants truth above all else, this is the best spot for him. could hear an argument for him going to edelgard (potential recruit out of house recruit fs) but i do like him with claude a bit more. gerolau angst also.
lucina is in golden deer because i dont want her in the other two houses but also because i do think, similar to laurent, she’d be very valuable to claude and vice versa. awakening world building is horseshit but from what little we do know there is quite a bit of political discourse that lucina probably knows quite a bit about. even if her timeline was thrown into war when she was young, she probably had some form of royal training and can help claude navigate fodlan a little bit. i also think coming to fodlan would just be a very refreshing experience for lucina as the burden of everything is no longer directly on her shoulders, and i think she’d be looking for a broader perspective on life and finding another purpose for herself now that grima is dealt with. i think claude would be able to help her with that and i think she’d be genuinely interested to learn of his homeland once she figures out where hes from (i do think laurent beats her to the conclusion but not by a lot. remember this is lucina aka marth aka woman her disguised her own royal status and was very successful at it. just saying). also while i did say that golden deer is in fact not the meme house, i think they are more light hearted overall in terms of character (does NOT mean meme house or funny house. look me right in my eyes and say the house WITHOUT hubert and linhardt is the meme house. fucking liar) and i think lucina would love that. i want her to get the chance to be silly and childish for a little bit. characters like raphael and marianne and lysithea might help her heal that inner child that she never really got to let out and i just think the golden deer house would be the best place for her
morgan is here because i didnt want her and marc in the same house thats too easy. but while i think claude is the least in need of a tactician type character, him and morgan would be sooooo funny so cute and i need someone who can keep him on his toes. i think he blurts out a plan and morgan goes “ermmm ackchully” and half of the time her rebuttals are complete nonsense she just wants to argue. i think they both enjoy it. i also think, similar to lucina, a light hearted house would be a little better for her. shes much more prone to mischief than m!morgan is i think and i think the deer would benefit from that if only so she can target lorenz and make me laugh. i also think separating the twins would make for fantastic angst down in the timeskip but for now shes just hanging out having fun being a piece of shit. #girl also i think its funnier if one morgan is absolutely thriving and the other is barely keeping his shit together and by god it is way funnier if its f!morgan getting away with everything
noire is here because. i. could not think of a reason for her to go anywhere else! i thought about putting her in beagles but i dont think making that choice between the church and edelgard would be as interesting for her? and i dont think putting her in lions would do anything for her. i think the best lord and the best house at helping her through her issues and being understanding of her mood changes is probably claude and the deer. i could see hilda and leonie reaching out to her, or ignatz and her getting on pretty well, but im not quite sure on the specifics of that. my least thought out placement but also it doesnt matter because it keeps the placements balanced to put her here. i’ll have to give this one more thought…
anyways if you can believe it this is the cutdown version. i know right. i hope i didnt forget anyone that would be really embarrassing
#garreg mach au#ann writing paragraphs#hi guys i didnt wanna put this on the original post bc i dont like giant reblog chains#but for the most part i like where everyone ended up#even if i dont have a REASON for noire i do like her with the deer#i just need to think about how it’d play out more….#anywyas theres a lot of unpolished ideas i might do something with one day#not anytime soon though but its fun to think about i think#anything to extend the stories of my favorite guys in the whole world ever

💚 and 🧡 for the unpopular opinions, maybe? :D
💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?
MAYBE?? YES I SAY!! :D :D
You know (lol all too well, my patient, generous friend <3) that Dooku remains my true favorite, but I think the last time we played one of these ask games together, I threw Dooku at you when you were probably expecting a Sifo-Dyas answer, so I’m going for the reverse this time. :3 >:3
I’m lucky enough to be in a beautiful community of people deliberately writing Sifo-Dyas as more than a helpless victim of the narrative here on tumblr. But in the wider fandom, clicking a Sifo-Dyas tag can be a real gamble. He’s an easy character to minimize and project on. We all love our pathetic lil’ meow meows. But I think it’s especially tempting to make a prophetic character be a static victim of fate. This is doubly an issue with Sifo-Dyas, who is one of the best canon examples of a Jedi with a disability that is treated seriously and not fixed by any space magic. People minimize him in a way that is altogether too common.
And yet, canon Sifo-Dyas is actually incredibly dynamic, one of the few characters actively aware of the plot of the prequels and trying to change it. This isn’t my headcanon retelling of an obscure character for representation; every time Sifo-Dyas shows up in the books, he is depicted grabbing the mic. He is a classic example of a person who, upon finding himself feeling powerless, deliberately tries to wrestle back control. His literal last words are ones of imperative command.
He's described as a powerful Jedi and member of the Council for years. Far from being a guileless victim, he’s the one to both befriend, and later, cut contact with Dooku, and it seems to have been his choice/idea to go back to Dooku that last time. The other Council members think he’s a demanding asshole who does whatever the fuck he wants. Mace Windu thinks his death has destroyed the Council’s entire ability to sense the future - they relied on him that much.
So yeah, that’s what the fandom gets wrong. Give Sifo-Dyas back his agency. He wasn’t falling out of the sky on the Obi Diah moon, he was trying to ride that ship down. Hell, canonically, he’d done it before.
🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?
I downright hate the theory that Sidious “let” Mace win so that Anakin would need to save him to prove his loyalty/as a Sith test.
Not only does that create risk that goes against Sidious’s compulsive obsession with preserving his own life, it breaks the pattern. Anakin’s Sith test is killing an unarmed (lol) defeated Dooku, the same as Dooku’s was killing a defeated Yaddle, the same as Luke’s is supposed to be killing a defeated Vader. Sith don’t prove themselves spiritually by preserving life, they commit to their path by taking it.
Mace is the head of the Jedi Order, and his form is literally designed to take apart the dark side users. He has a physical advantage on Sidious, a location advantage, he has the numbers on him, and he’s been training for specifically this his whole career as the most elevated Jedi Master in the Order.
So why should Sidious need to be faking for Mace to win?
#(we all know why)#DUDE THIS WAS SO FUN :D :D :D#thanks for your patience in my going so long about my guy#and thank you again for asking you are fantastic#and I am working on the others of these in my inbox and so excited to finally get them posted seriously you all are the best#sifo dyas#dooku#mace windu

Headcanon Tag Game ✨
Tagged by the lovely @esta-elavaris 💚
Tagging -hopefully for the first time-: @emmanuellececchi @sotwk @from-the-coffee-shop-in-edoras
I love this tag game! It's so fun and a creative way to think about characters.
rules: use this headcanon generator to make headcanons for your ocs! then talk about how accurate they are.
Éostré could easily survive The Hunger Games.
She knows enough about survival to survive well, and forced, she would win, likely to win a lot of audience favour.
Éostré has an incredible spice tolorance.
Oooh I love the implications of this one. Considering Gondor and Rohan though, I don't think so. She would absolutely try to power through and appear unaffected though. Tears running freely and red-faced, still insisting she likes it.
Cleia has fallen asleep at their desk while working in the middle of the night.
More than a few times. Kalendora has picked her up and put her to bed with missions and announcements printed on her cheek.
Cleia can play the piano.
I don't know about piano but I think definitely guitar. It's easy to carry and take out around the bonfire for some singing. She has a lovely voice though, and she loves to sing in times of peace.
Kalendora forgets to eat sometimes.
I think she wouldn't! She is a very in-the-moment person, and she doesn't ignore her body's requests. Eating is one of the ways she enjoys life.
Kalendora role plays on discord.
I don't think she would roleplay, but she definitely gives animals voices and makes them have entire conversations. Sometimes Cleia and Kalendora have entire discussions through a cat, or a squirrel.
Avelina has a pet hamster.
I would definitely see her with a bunny, but I don't think it would be a pet, more of a wild befriended animal. But yes, she absolutely loves fluffy animals and petting them.
Avelina reads wattpad.
She does and she might have tried her hand at angsty and romantic stories as well, when Rivendell got a little lonely.

for oc ask game ⭐️🌈🎉🖍
⭐️ Tell us about your favourite OCs!
AAAAA ok so recently I've been Obsessed with my open original species I made, SYNTHS! *infographic here
Here's some of my favourites, and some little character profiles ab them 😊
🧿 SHIMMER
Shimmer is interesting bc I actually have two canons for her! I originally made her as a demaverse OC but I also have an original story for her that I'm creating with @silkysong <3
🌈 Shimmer is bisexual and A Creature first and foremost. Gender is incredibly incedental to her and her pronouns are She/It.
DEMA STORYLINE
☆ Shimmer is a Bounty Hunter ("Compound Representitive") in Dema who works off the books to capture escapees and bring them home. Synths are not allowed to hold positions of power in Dema so she tries to clutch it wherever she can.
☆ Due to the suppression that her society forces upon her, she despises humans and sees the presence of humanity in her biology as a defect. She works with a shady doctor (owned by @polarized-disguise ) who does strange genetic experiments on her to try and suppress that human part of her.
☆ She's very isolated and closed off, and doesn't like to open her heart to anyone. She only cares for her brother, Skye, who is the only person she respects at the start of her story. Over the course of it, she meets Iona (owned by @silkysong ) who troublemakes her way into a begruding Shimmer's life.
ORIGINAL STORY
☆ Similar to above, Shimmer is a representative of a power station in a small town, of which has far too much influence and power over its citizens.
☆ She has intense romantic tension with Iona who she begrudgingly begins to befriend over the course of the story.
☆ Female Rage Incarnate <333
🩵 SKYE
I literally only have recent photos of him and Shimmer together MFMSKD do not separate!!!
🌈 Skye is pansexual!
♡ Skye is a club owner in Dema who puts up a front as an empty headed, vacuous party boy but he secretly hides depth under his charming veneer. He aids the banditos by arranging escapes and supply drops, and tries his best to inspire FREE WILL into others, and encourages them to make their own decisions, whatever they may be.
♡ He and his sister oppose intensely in ideology but love each other deeply because they're all each other have really had for so long. Both of them think what the other is doing is dangerous, but would support each other in an instant if things were dire.
♡ He's constantly haunted by the fact that, due to being a Synth, he will never truly be able to connect with other humans. He often feels lonely and like a ghost, putting up a front to try and get through life. Where this instilled a deep longing in him, it prevented his sister from forming empathy.
♡ He's just a sincerely kind person :) <3
🦭 AQUAMARINE

Pictured: Ultrababy of forever
🌈 Nonbiney creature. She/They
◇ Aquamarine is a young plucky turquoise synth that loves to play and draw.
◇ She was plucked out of her life - from school, from her home and all she knew - and placed in an Incarceration Compound... To guard and monitor an unstable Empty Synth, 199 (owned by @silkysong ). She, despite her diminutive size, is physically very strong and good at helping calm others emotions, which is why she was selected.
◇ She's exposed to horrors beyond her comprehension and is forced into a role of responsibility that she should never have been given, but despite it all she loves her job and 199 and would never trade him for anything. She's selectively mute and chooses to sign her words!
⚔️ BLADES
HORRIBLE vile stinky man. art by the lovely silkysong <3
🌈 He's into anyone he can use to further his nasty little agendas
♤ Blades is another Compound Representitive that works in Dema alongside Shimmer. He's soooooo sucks <3 He very rarely actually does his job, instead choosing to hole up in his living quarters and do absolutely nothing to help Shimmer. He only makes a move when he absolutely has to, or if he has something to gain by doing so.
♤ He actually does the exact opposite of his job, distributing banned material to the inmates of the compound in exchange for "favours" or high prices. He's selfish and opportunistic, and is allergic to any form of responsibility for anything.
♤ He essentially never truly formed connections with others due to isolation, and therefore doesn't really have a working concept of love or empathy for others. This leads him to do terrible, irredeemable things, and hurt people who could possibly save him from himself.
❤️🔥 AEFRID

One of my NPCs from my DNDema campaign! She's so awesomes...
🌈 Aefrid probably likes women but she hasn't really thought about it
♡ Aefrid is a young, elite vialist priest who works directly under the bishops in the main towers. She is part of a secret experiment which attempts to strip synths of their autonomy and steal their augmentations, in her case, pyromancy.
♡ She is immature and overconfident due to being told how amazing and elite she is her entire life, and she fully believed her own hype. However, when she was finally faced with conflict from a source outside her sect, she IMMEDIATELY had her ass handed to her, and was dismissed from the sect.
♡ She has a deep bond with her sister, Maeve (Staunch vialist but with a warriors spirit - I also love her but dont have her art yet), who always tried to keep her feet on the ground, however, these lessons never really permeated.
♡ When Maeve was defeated, Aefrid jumped to save her from death and was mortally injured herself. The party members decided to save her, to which Maeve, who is a warrior above all, pledged her debt to. Aefrid is Resentful and Furious that Maeve would EVER help them and doesn't understand why her life is valued this much. She's currently very begrudgingly being sent to Trench so she and Maeve aren't hunted down and Glorious Gone'd.
🐺 FENRIR & 🫎 ANTHELION
These two r actually the cutest... I love them so dearly. Or should I say deerly B)
🌈 Fen is bisexual and Anthelion likes Fenrir :3 Fen is He/Him and Anthelion is They/Them
☆ Fenrir is another vialist priest in the same sect as Aefrid and Maeve. He is, however, completely unimpressed by the role and only got there because he scored incredibly high in all of his aptitude tests. He feels immense pressure from his family, his city and the Bishops to persue his intelligence and somehow ended up in with the Elites.
☆ He's a reliable, intelligent person that deeply cares about others despite his flat affect. He often guards himself because he doesn't believe in the teachings of Vialism, however he's in an Elite Sect within the church where any known dissent would lead to immediate death so he just keeps up airs despite being resentful of the entire practice.
☆ He longs to be free and immerse himself in Trench. He almost escaped a few times but always had second thoughts and returned to the towers every time... Until he both realised the horrible things they wete doing to synths through his new friend (and crush) Anthelion, along with meeting again with his old schoolmate (and crush) 199, who helped inspire him to fight back and leave the sect.
♧ Anthelion is a tender loving person who has not had much exposure to the world, due to being a Generation 3 synth. They were created as a purposed synth to be used in the experiments by the sect, and their abilities are related to Decay and Rot. Their focus is on plants, where their abilities allow them (and Fenrir when they are interlinked thru psychokinesis) to cause plants to decay instantly, and bloom again from the nutrient rich soil. People often mistake their abilities for controlling Plants when they really control the rate of decay and bloom within those plants.
♧ They and Fenrir are deeply tied to one another, due to the fact they were the only ones who treated each other with kindness and understanding while both were trapped within the towers. They trust and rely on each other to protect one another, and have spent a lot of time in each others minds bc of the psychokinesis, so they know each other very well.
♧ Anthelion is neurologically disabled! They have a speech impediment and have slowed reactions, and they need some extra help sometimes to understand the intentions of others, especially when they are bad ones.
BONUS QUESTIONS
🎉 Which one has the most growth over the course of their story?
I feel like they all have similar amounts of growth, be it progression or regression, but I think I've worked on Shimmer the most out of all of them!

Dahlia Rosenheim in Winx Club!

Here are a bunch of facts about Winx!Dahlia:
Dahlia is a unique type of fairy. She is a Mimic Fairy, one who is gifted with the ability to mimic a person's power.
Dahlia does this by absorbing the energy from the person's power before converting that energy as her own, letting it flow in her body afterwards. Once done, Dahlia can manipulate the same abilities as the source she copied from.
This does not mean Dahlia has stolen the power. She only took some energy in order to mimic the ability. Dahlia's ability allows her to copy, not steal.
She can copy one power only. Once she begins channeling the energy into her body, she cannot mimic another person's ability. And if it is possible, that would be very exhausting for one fairy. (Not to mention, it would make her seem incredibly overpowered.)
The more energy Dahlia uses to use the powers, the faster they will drain. That means her ability to mimic one's ability isn't forever. This is why she fights her opponents wisely.
Dahlia does not have a specific element. This is why she needs a person as her source to imitate their energy in order to have that element herself.
Like many characters in the show, Dahlia is still a newbie with her magic. She continues to practice mimicry in Alfea College.
Because she is still learning, there are moments where her ability fails to function properly. It is unsurprising that it can also backfire at times.
Speaking of backfire, this can be done by Dahlia when she starts absorbing the energy. When mimicking malfunctions, the energy can attack instead of flow through the body. Dahlia has described the backfire as similar to being electrocuted by bolts of lightning.
Even when Dahlia cannot mimic anybody's energy (she is powerless without a source), she still knows how to fight without magic. She fights with a pair of stilettos, her handy daggers if magic is unavailable. Dahlia also thinks her weapons are elegant.
Dahlia's ability of mimicry is inspired from Magiano, a character in Marie Lu's "The Young Elites" trilogy novel series.
Her outfit—specifically the transparent skirt—was inspired from Jazmin_Studios in YouTube.
The outfit of Dahlia's fairy form is yellow because it is the same color that symbolizes energy. Therefore, it shows that Dahlia absorbs energy.
Her wings are from Alef Vernon's illustration of fairy wings in his Winx Club X Taylor's version post. (I asked for permission if I could take the Folklore wings)
Dahlia is best friends with Flora, Musa and Bloom. She says she enjoys their company and they are interesting fairies.
She occasionally admits that she is tolerable of Stella's attitude. She does not like impulsive and self-centered people, but Dahlia is aware that Stella is a good person at heart. That is why she still chose to befriend her.
She is good friends with Tecna, often chatting about technology. Dahlia is amazed every time at what the other fairy can do.
Dahlia does not share a dorm with anybody. She is alone in her own room, yet she does not mind at because she is an introverted person.
She idolizes the Specialists a lot, intrigued at their daily training and the mechanics of their wind riders. She is also totally not curious in trying to ride a dragon.
In the earliest mornings—usually at 4AM—Dahlia would sneak out of Alfea to watch the training routines of the Specialists in Red Fountain. She is careful not to be caught by anyone.
She is best friends with Brandon, often laughing a lot when she is with him. She admits that she views him as a brother.
Dahlia's relationship with Timmy is similar to Tecna's. They also chat about technology and logical thinking.
Sky and Dahlia are friendly with each other. They are not close because the girl tends to walk on eggshells around him due to his royal status. Dahlia needs Bloom by her side whenever interacting with the prince.
Riven is the first guy who catches Dahlia's attention a lot. She claims she is does not really give an opinion about boys. But when she met Riven, she is highly interested in befriending him. (She tries talking to him with the help of Brandon, it failed miserably)
Her secret love interest is either Riven or Sky. Only Flora and Brandon knows about this information, though the Specialist tends to tease her a lot more about her secret.
When Dahlia met Helia after a year, she immediately added him into her list. Still, her crush on Riven/Sky remains to stay.
Her relationship with Helia is "birds of a feather flock together". They have the same passion for arts and poetry, which made them very close to each other. These two eventually became best friends.
Although there is less seen interaction, Dahlia does talk with Mirta from time to time. She whispers a promise to herself to help Mirta whenever she needed it. She saw the good heart in the witch.
Dahlia is an early bird as she likes the quiet environment and dark skies.
As much as Dahlia wanted to wear clothes that exposes her midriff like the other fairies, she chooses not to because Dahlia fears she will only embarrass herself due to her pudgy body.
Because of her pudgy build, she has been described to have big thighs. This can either be a compliment or an insult.
Dahlia's height is 163cm (5'4" ft). When she wears heels, her height is 167cm (5'6" ft).
Bloom influenced her and Musa in becoming Swifties (let's just say Bloom is a Swiftie herself). Now the three of them listen to her albums in a loop.
After Bloom influenced Dahlia to listen to the earthling singer, she instantly had a huge liking to the Folklore album and the song "Wonderland" in 1989.
(This is swapped for Canon Dahlia since her favorite album is 1989 and her favorite song is "this is me trying" in Folklore.)
Bloom once introduced some novels made by human authors to Dahlia. When the mimic fairy was able to borrow these novels, she finished them in a week, ranting to Bloom about it afterwards.
When she first encountered the Trix, it is Darcy who first caught her attention. In all honesty, she thinks Darcy is rather attractive (because she is).
Dahlia is often mistaken to be a Light Fairy by many people due to her fairy transformation.
The reasons why Dahlia aims to be a true fairy is because she wants to see her potential and share kindness to the world. And just like Flora, she attends Alfea because she wanted to learn new things. (Stella also hits her face with a pillow at her 'nerdy' answer XD)
Dahlia shares many similarities with Canon Dahlia (i.e. interests, likes, personality).
The Fairies of Mimicry are one of the lesser known fairies due to a small ancestry thousands of years ago. Because of this, mimic fairies are not often seen nowadays.
Dahlia lives in planet Andros with her family. She has a mother, a father, and two younger siblings. The family has mimicry as their ability.

Act 1 Interlude 1 - All the Time in the World (Page 5)
LORE | CHARACTERS | ABOUT / CHAPTERS / WARNINGS
← PREVIOUS | BEGINNING | NEXT →
Violeta
Oskar's house is as quaint and cosy as I expected. His parents built it with their own two hands, and that's why he never bothered to moved from Windenburg. The little woodwork animals he's been making are incredible considering he says he's 'not too great' at them yet.
He told me he'd make me whatever I wanted. I've always had a fondness for bears, and their dangerously-deceptive cuteness. Within two days, he'd carved an almost-perfect bear, and just for me. The last time anyone had made anything for me was when my mother sewed me a doll when I was very little…
For the first time in many, many years, I feel emotion. Joy. It feels warm and nauseating in my stomach, and I make the mistake of giving him a thankful hug. He throws me off almost immediately. Was it my body temperature or my smile that gave it away, I wonder?
"What was that? You're freezing cold- and those teeth!"
Both.
He looks absolutely terrified. I'd made a friend, the first in many years, and he is already afraid of me. I thought he had an interest in the occult? I try to calm myself before I say anything. I wasn't planning on giving him two shocking truths in one day.
"Yes, Oskar. I'm a-"
"Vampire?! But we've been out in the light for goodness-knows how long and you're fine!"
Not every vampire is affected by sunlight, Oskar. It's luck-of-the-draw. Some vampires can even eat normal food, but I unfortunately cannot. However, that does not mean I plan to do anything of the sort to you, okay? I don't feed off of friends."
Oskar's demeanour changes from fearful to relaxed, and he gives me a slight smile.
"I apologise, Violeta. It's just...I've never actually met anyone like you before. I've read all about vampires and lycanthropes and witches, but I've never met one."
"You know about the vampire-hunts, yes?"
"I do," he says, with a solemn touch to his voice.
"There aren't as many of us as there used to be, Oskar. Any decent vampire would only feed off animals or cruel people, the same way any decent lycanthrope would do anything in their power to not cause too much harm on the night of a full moon. The trouble is, it is not always easy to exercise control. No matter how much we try to change ourselves, it won't be enough to stop us from being all killed off eventually."
He remains silent, wrapping his arms around himself.
"Do what you can to keep safe, Violeta. It would be a dark world without someone like yourself in it. I can promise you that."
It's not often that I meet anyone decent and friendly. It made being immortal much easier, but the heaviness in my heart returns. If I truly befriend Oskar, then all I will ever think about is losing him in thirty or forty years' time.
When I was turned, I tried to cry in my parents' arms- not because of me, but because I would outlive everyone I ever came to care about. I couldn't cry. Vampires can't cry- there's no catharsis that isn't your fangs in someone else's neck. Remembering I was once a warm and caring soul is an alienating thought, but either way, I thank Oskar for his kindness before I leave.

Why the Sentinels from Murder Drones are kinda mid

Hello Everyone! So basically, one of my friends recently convinced me to watch Murder Drones with him(as he's a fan of it and has wanted to watch it with me for awhile), and we've been binging the show for the past 2 weeks. We just finished watching Episode 6. Now,I know this was a very well hidden-secret,but I am a pretty huge Dinosaur enthusiast, and was looking forward to this episode the moment my friend mentioned there where Dinosaurs in it(even though I did have worries that the Dinosaurs would feel out of place). After watching it, I have to say that I was pretty let down with said "Raptor" Dinosaur creatures, the Sentinels. I had high hopes for them going in because personally, the idea of Robotic Dinosaurs(especially incredibly fast and agile ones like Velociraptor or Utahraptor that you wouldn't expect to see mixed with typically slow-moving Robots) sounded really cool to me,but honestly, I was just really disappointed with how these guys were used.
First off,I have to say that whether Story-wise or Creatively-wise, there's really no reason for them to be robotic versions of dinosaurs in the first place,as it's never explained why JCJenson made them(atleast,I'm assuming that's who made them, as they really don't explain where these guys came from) into Robot Animals instead of just regular, more powerful Disassembly Drones or something like that. It's also not clear why they even needed to be Raptors in the first place,as their one special ability(which we'll get to very shortly) isn't directly related to a Raptor dinosaur and could have easily been used with any other type of Robotic creature/animal. And overall,Dinosaurs(regardless of whether they're Robotic or not) just feel really out of place in this futuristic series that features little to no Animals(as I alluded to earlier).
Secondly, the Sentinel's one unique ability(the "Boot-Loop" Light, which sounds kinda weird honestly) is cool, but it doesn't really feel very Raptor-like,in my opinion. And I'm not saying they should have just had the Sentinels claw at and tear up the Drones into pieces or something like that, because that would have been kinda boring. Instead, they could have used something like or akin to Mind Control(considering Raptor Dinosaurs in general were some of the smartest of all dinos). This could let them render the Drones basically immobile by forcing them not to do anything(or even force them to kill the other Drones),which is what they partially already use in the series with their Boot-Loop Light attack, which just immobilizes the Drones, but this simple change would have made them alot more interesting, atleast for me. They already show that the Sentinels are intelligent with the typical "hunting in packs and sneaking up on their victims" thing, but considering they're literal Robots, theres no reason they couldn't have gone further with their intelligence in ways that were unique and actually related to the intelligence of Raptor Dinosaurs. I also personally think Glitch(the guys who made Murder Drones) took a bit too much inspiration from the Velociraptors from Jurasic Park(I swear it feels like some of the shots are almost exactly the same as one's that were from the Jurassic Park movie, aside from the one that's intentionally that way to make fun of Jurassic World,I think) and didn't really try to differ the Sentinels from them all that much with any unique capabilities, outside of their light stunning attack.
However,I will say the Sentinels were used in a pretty good joke in the episode, which doesn't really save them for me but does make them a bit more enjoyable. In the scene, the human character,Tessa, tries to befriend one of the Sentinels by holding out her hand to it,like Owen Grady did with the Velociraptors in Jurassic World. This results in the Sentinel viciously biting her hand and causing it to bleed, which I laughed pretty hard at with my friend. I think it's supposed to be making fun of Jurassic World in some way(I personally believe its for making the Velociraptors tame-able and much less like killing machines than the OG Jurassic Park),and if so, it's a really good joke that I enjoyed, and helped make me a bit less dissapointed with the Sentinels.(There's also the possibility that it's not meant to be a joke and just a simple reference,as there's a scene in one of the Jurassic World movies that's literally identical to the one I just described, but I like to think it's not just a simple reference)

Also,I do REALLY like the way these things move. Seeing them crawling around, specifically in one scene where the red-eyed one climbs down a wall, is surprisingly creepy. And their designs are genuinely phemonial and really cool-looking,especially their multiple blue eyes.
Overall this really isn't a problem for most people, but I'm a guy who's enthusiasm on a piece of media can skyrocket from a 0 to a 100 at the mere mention of Dinosaurs being in it,so I was more than a bit dissapointed and I wanted to voice that here. Also,I'd like to clarify that I haven't actually finished the show with my friend yet(we're currently about to start Episode 7),but I've been told that the Sentinels barley appear after Episode 6 so I'm gonna just assume not much changes for them.
Oh,and for those who want to know my overall opinions on the show,I'd say (so far) that it's somewhat flawed(it introduces alot of plot points and characters that dont really go anywhere and aren't explained) and unfunny at times but it's overall a wonderfully animated series with a banger soundtrack, decently interesting story as of now,and overall really likable and enjoyable characters(my personal favorite is probally that one background Worker Drone who's head is always on fire),and it's clear it has alot of talented people behind it. I'd definitely reccomend it as I enjoyed the majority of it, just not to fellow Dinosaur fans lol.
Alright, that's all for this post. Have a good day/evening/night!

(btw I'm gonna be using this image to end off all my "lengthy" posts from now on. Hope you guys like it! :D)

might make a longer post later about more details from the video, but have been thinking especially about how delighted i am at the ways characters are categorizing and drawing lines around things in owen's newest new life ep? careful about the cut; there's spoilers in there.
i think... in other series, or watching videos created by other ccs, if someone monologued at the audience about how they think the mechanics of the world work, i would just take that at face-value and move on? this is a thing people do. minecraft is pretty open-ended -- the things that happen in it and the mechanics players interact with can have many interpretations, and probably the person holding the camera is telling you their interpretation so we have The Intended Way To Understand The Rest Of The Video. or at the very least, those interpretations don't tend to be characterizingly wrong? i'm thinking of pixlriffs in empires season two, who posits a theory in-character about how dreams connect different worlds. i'm thinking about scott literally in his most recent new life video saying to us, "oh, that bolt of lightning must be my light snare, one of my powers." these things tell us more about the world and its mechanics, smoothing over the gap between game and interpretation, than about the people sharing those understandings.
so it's. really really fun to me that owen is playing with that? sparrow newlife is just straight up wrong about a bunch of things, but he also has a really obvious stake in maintaining the distinctions and categorizations he's had in place so far. i'm thinking particularly about how long he goes on insisting that the sculk is good and the warden is bad -- it's something he's been saying some variation on since he first became sculk, and it's also increasingly evident that it's just not true! sure, it's in the warden's mind that he find the otherside and the memories therein, but those flashes of memory are about the sculk spreading. he's been saying himself that the sculk wants to spread! and at the end of the episode, sparrow, despite insisting he's a sculk hybrid, hears scott's heartbeat and literally sniffs him out like a warden. there's not really a perfect separation between sculk and warden even on the level of sparrow's hybrid abilities, but he's so lonely and scared, and he's been so convinced for so long that being a hybrid is the best or only way to be wanted and liked -- he needs the sculk to be benevolent, to have welcomed him into the fold because it wants him just for being him. thinking about his final monologue: he's so deeply hurt that, specifically, the sculk used him! he hasn't been upset about being sculk; he's upset that it didn't ultimately mean anything!
and speaking of self-interested drawing of lines, i'm also delighted that scott in his perspective of this episode's encounter does this thing too? as he runs away from sparrow, he mutters to himself something like, "i don't think [sculk sparrow] is the sparrow i used to know." it's... not completely wild to interpret that as scott telling us the viewers that sculk sparrow is genuinely A Different Entity and that this is something that is now just true about the world, but i like thinking of it as scott, the lightmancer, the character, terrified (that heartbeat sparrow hears is going so fast??) and frantically trying to reconcile the image of sparrow covered in sculk and pulling a knife on him with the pilot he befriended all that time ago. it complicates sparrow in interesting ways! it complicates scott in interesting ways! there's a mismatch, on both sides of this falling out, between who each person thinks the other is, and who that other person actually is, and scott saying this gives us a glimpse of another angle to that mismatch. the sculk is deeply a part of sparrow, yes, and is affecting him, but that well of incredible insecurity in sparrow has been here this whole time. he's always had that tendency to curiosity-cruelty and he's always been holding onto the belief that being a hybrid would make him worth something. this whole encounter is more interesting to me if Yeah, It Is In Fact The Same Guy In There. struggling against something terrible, for sure, but still the same guy! sparrow did that. he burned down those structures. he pointed a crossbow at that villager. he, hurting in a million different ways but still doing it, jumped into scott's head and killed him.
#sparrowsong#new life smp#owengejuicetv#yeah sure i'll maintag that.#he's so!! fascinating!!#Blorbo. Little Blorbo Man*.

if you've followed me for any amount of time you know i love winter soldier (2018) run, but let me just write an essay to convince you to read it.
ya’ll. seriously. it’s so, so, so important to bucky as a person. it’s, honestly, the biggest character development for him. because it’s one of those rare times where he does something, and it’s not about steve, or nat, or captain america.
like please, don’t get me wrong. i love steve and nat. bucky loves steve and nat. they’re both so incredibly vital to his character, and in completely different ways! bucky practically idolizes steve–he’s like an older brother, and they’ve got a friendship that is so central to both of them. they text, they drop everything for each other, they’d do whatever it took to save or help the other–but that’s kinda the issue, too. because steve does a lot more of the asking than bucky does. and it’s always well-intentioned, but it’s not always the best for bucky. bucky makes the choice on his own to try not to kill people anymore. but steve asks for him to be sniper backup and bucky’s right back at it again, pulling the trigger for steve when he can’t. and that’s the thing, is that there’s always going to be that power dynamic in that relationship where he’s willing to do anything for steve, because that’s what he’s always done. it’s what they’ve always done.
and with nat it’s kind of a same song different verse, in a lot of ways. they’d do anything for each other, they have each other’s backs–nat was pretty much glued to his side when he was captain america, and even after, when they worked on eradicating threats for shield. bucky loves and admires nat, both as a friend and a lover, and he wants nothing more than to protect and help her. but i think, in a lot of ways, the power in the relationship lies with nat–she’s the cool-headed one, the logical thinker, and bucky, bless his dumb little heart, throws all logic and thinking out the window whenever his heart gets involved. he’s emotional, and vulnerable, and it puts him in a… reactive? submissive? role in their relationship. for as much as bucky may call the shots at times, he only does it because he knows he has nat’s trust. but more often than not, nat’s the one pointing out things to bucky–she’s the better spy, the better manipulator, the one who’s memories, while compromised, are clearer because she’s lived more life than he has. and i think he really just… grows in fits and starts around her. because i think bucky wants to be a man nat admires and thinks of him as, but i don’t… i don’t think that’s what bucky always wants? i think bucky and nat have very different goals and feelings, and while there’s always this bond of understanding and shared experience it’s just… not where bucky needs to be to grow for himself, as himself
because let’s face it, he hasn’t been given the option as to what he wanted to do with his life since he was a kid, basically. when his dad died, he essentially dropped out of school and joined the army. and then at 16, was chosen to be captain america’s sidekick. he hasn’t been his own man, making his own choices, standing on his own outside of everyone’s shadows–for good or bad–since he was 16! and what does he choose to do? he wants to help people find redemption and start over. you know, like he did, like what he’s always working towards.
and i think it’s incredibly fascinating that the two people shown helping him are sharon and tony. two of the people he befriended, who only know him from this time. and one of which, he tried to kill when he first met (which is a whole other thing in and of itself). but both sharon and tony get this… new mission, new goal, new bucky, in a way that i don’t know nat or steve would. not as intimately. because, i think in a lot of ways, steve will always see 40′s bucky, and nat will always see red room bucky, but sharon and tony only know the winter soldier turned captain america who let himself be put on trial, who let himself be put into a russian gulag, and who died trying to live up to being captain america at a time when the world was dissolving in fear. they know the current bucky who did all those things–and yeah, both sharon and tony probably read files on what bucky did in the past. but that’s just it–it’s the past for them. information on paper. it’s not what they’ve seen him do and seen him work for. they’ve watched him work to redeem himself. and they’re here for him now because they’re friends, yes, but because they also believe that people deserve second chances–and they, more than most, know what it’s like to need that redemption.
and that’s honestly what the entire run is about. it’s about how no one’s too far gone to not deserve a second chance. that sometimes, what someone needs is the opportunity to do some good. and that the difference between saving someone and helping someone save themselves is all about giving people the chance and freedom to make their own choices, for good or bad, and simply doing your best to support and love them.
#[ also there's something to be said about ]#[ how i don't think steve nor nat feel guilt about the things they've done ]#[ or a personal sense of responsibility in the same way that bucky does ]#[ he's in a very different position from them ]#[ and it makes his outlook on redemption more personal ]#[ and why i enjoy him relating to sharon and tony on that front ]#[ two people who *also* feel they have something they need to be redeemed for ]#wintersmoulder#wintersmoulder / headcanon.

Rockman.EXE and Cyber Security.
When you are a Rockman/Megaman Battle Network fan and you take a college course about networking, you start to notice how broken the internet is in the anime. So just for fun, I want to talk about a few things I learn about network security and how it is interpreted in the Megaman Battle Network anime.
1. Firewalls
What are firewalls? In simple terms, it is a security barrier that is placed between a private network and the public network.
They are configured to monitor and filter networking traffic, hackers go through them by figuring out how they are programed, once they do they can either bypass the security undetected or simply disable the firewall.
Lets take a scene from the movie where Lan sends Megaman into a secretary’s console to destroy a program inside a company’s server.
Megaman is running through the network between the console and the firewall, which protects the private network of the company.
Logically, for Megaman to go through the firewall, he is going to need to use his powers as a Net Navigator (Net Navi) to analyze the firewall at an incredible speed to try to find a way to go through it, right?
WRONG! Battle Network logic says you can just break it with brute force!
You see the problem?
Does this mean Navis and battle chips are just as destructive to the net as viruses? Because last time I checked, Viruses and malware are the only programs with the ability to destroy networks.
2. Viruses
Viruses are man made, they are programed with a purpose that’s usually to destroy data files. They can also be used to change and manipulate programs, that’s why you can see evil Navis controlling viruses to do specific jobs for them. Viruses can’t replicate on their own without a user interface, so how is this Moloko a baby?!

There was an undubbed episode of Megaman Axess where Rush meets and befriends a baby Moloko virus, which doesn’t make any sense. Yes, Rush is a virus, and it has been established that viruses can communicate with each other, but why does this Moloko have parents? And why was the group of Molokos it separated from was being herded by other viruses like Trumpy? All I’ve seen Molokos do is charge at megaman when they see him, trying to ram him. Why would someone herd them? For the wool? It disappears after you hit it!
And what even is Rush’s purpose anyway? When he first appeared in the anime, he was made to track down Rockman’s frame or structure when they were trying to revive him with the backup data, but now?
All he does is being a crappy character who runs away when things get dangerous, doesn’t act like a dog anymore, and irritates me because he can move between the cyberworld and the real world! He is selfish, lacy, and practically useless, there are several times where Megaman goes missing and Rush is never even called to track him down, so he doesn’t even have that ability anymore.
On a positive note, viruses can be interesting, I found out that there are different types of viruses. For example.
A Stealth virus is a virus that avoids detection from anti virus software, this means it can conceal itself and attack without being spotted, sounds familiar? In this case the anti-virus software would also include Navis.
A retro virus tries to destroy anti-virus programs, I like to think these apply to viruses who specifically target Navis in battle like Canodumbs and Piranahs since they only attack when they detect an enemy in the line of fire.
Armored Viruses are hard to detect or analyze because they have a protective code, These could be Viruses with armors or auras like the Dominerd or even the life virus.
But Phage viruses remind me of these guys because they rewrite programs.
And I guess this one counts too?
Other viruses just act like malware, like the Alpha bug that is more of a worm than a virus, because it can replicate and travel across networks without any human assistance.
Others are obvious like the Pop up virus which is just Rush, and it is supposed to be adware, but just like Rush, it is more annoying than harmful.
In the anime, killereye viruses are used as spyware, there was an episode were Videoman used them to spy on Rockman and make copies of him.
3. Tracing a signal.
Basically, everything you do on the net leaves bread crumps or cookies behind that makes it easy to track a user online, every device have a Mac Address and every network has an IP address, but it takes a special kind of software and advance skills to track down somebody in the real world.
Let’s talk about episode 32 of Stream.
Remember that episode were Megaman followed a revived Shademan to 20 Years in the past and he witnessed a famous hacking incident that was stopped by Colonel?
Aside from the fact that it was 20 years in the past and Megaman is more advance than most of the technology there, there were a few things bothering me.
For starters, why does that computer show a little Colonel doing something to that guy’s hacking program? It’s cute and all, but this is a confusing way to show someone disabling a program, it usually just shows a notification. Or is that how the computer sees colonel, like a little pixel version of him? XD
That hacking program was made to open any cyber lock, it uses three special pillars to disguise the signal so the police wouldn’t be able to track down the address, this means those pillars have some special form of encryption to cover the data to make it untraceable. In the anime’s world, that means it’s invisible, but somehow Megaman can still sense it? And how did Barryl know where the guy was? Did colonel tell him? Or did the viruses he sent to delete colonel revealed his location? Oops.
4. Hard Drives.
To end this post, what are hard drives? They are what your computer uses to store files, so Navis can obviously be stored in a computer as well. The problem is that they are still sentient inside the computer instead of dormant.
The concept of containing a Navi, yes, Navis have their own jail in this universe, doesn’t really make any sense. We know Navis can sleep, but the Navis we see in cages are still active, and if everything is connected to the internet, how can they not escape?
I’m using this scene with Megaman as an example, when he was arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, he was put in a cute little cyber cage.
However, since Megaman is more advance, he wonders if the hard drive of the computer he is stored in is weak against vibrations. What does he mean by that? Physical or cyber vibrations? Does that mean he can control a frequency in that computer’s cyberworld to alter it?
Whatever he did worked, because he left a gap in the cage, but how did he do it without damaging the Hard Drive? The police officer wouldn’t be able to access his files anymore, maybe it was minor file corruption?
And the worst part is that he opened a gateway into the internet, which is still there! I guess Megaman can travel through routers by himself? Maybe that wouldn’t have happen if the officer just disconnected his ethernet cable.
This Network based world is a scary one.

Oh thank you for liking my American wizards ideas
And about guns, okay modern trick a lot of writers use that magic is often uncomfortable with modern technology.
Now my Americans wizards gun magic is that they use mainly colonial muskets, revolvers, and recent advancements allow WW1-2 guns to be used.
Also like for the modern AK-47 and desert eagles, okay gamifying a bit. But american wizards enchantments get slow to change the type of bullets the guns use, ie a enchantment take make the bullets releasing posion gas after hitting the target and such
Actually I notice something I notice in post hp fantasy settings and especially after Rings of Power. A lot of modern creators try to put modern or globalized characters into middle age inspired settings
Like the push for black rep in fantasy…the problem is that the type of fantasy people that could resembled modern black people is if the fantasy setting take place in colonial or industrial eras.
But I think a lot of black activists in these progressive circles never realize or took the hard pill that the average black American and the modern Yoruba people are strangers to each other. We have no pagan cultural roots to Africa
Yeah it’s sucks…but it sure as hell will help you in the long wrong
And as you know I’m a Midwestern. This tweet made me realize my fantasy ideas is so different
https://x.com/oliverjia1014/status/1770085801113849979?s=46
It was a fun read
Now my Americans wizards gun magic is that they use mainly colonial muskets, revolvers, and recent advancements allow WW1-2 guns to be used.
You were talking about a steampunk type visual, you'll see a lot of old flintlock, wheel lock, and cap and ball type with the people that do steampunk, it's Victorian era so basically if it existed prior to to 1901 you're good.
Actually I notice something I notice in post hp fantasy settings and especially after Rings of Power. A lot of modern creators try to put modern or globalized characters into middle age inspired settings
Ya it's getting old, fantasy setting is not bad that and how they explained Morgan Freeman's character in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves worked great.
Moorish man that Robin had befriended instead of killed while out on the Crusade, came back to see England with Robin. It had a few 'magic negro' moments but not really magic other than the magic of his voice.
Just a inspirational speech, telescope thing too iirc been a while not really magic but a great vehicle for inserting someone who would not appear normally in that area at that time into a story.
But I think a lot of black activists in these progressive circles never realize or took the hard pill that the average black American and the modern Yoruba people are strangers to each other. We have no pagan cultural roots to Africa
Some are acutely aware of it

It's the 'they took our jobs' that everyone says it racist when you're talking about immigrants, but this is slots in college admissions and not racist at all if you ask them.
Xenophobic would be closer.
And as you know I’m a Midwestern. This tweet made me realize my fantasy ideas is so different

Guy moves to farm country and find out that farmers aren't actually the racist hicks he thought they were, many such cases.
There's a imageset from a post from FB or twitter or something, black woman breaks down in the middle of farm country on her way somewhere and her worst nightmare comes true when a white dude with confederate flag and maga stickers pulls up.
Guy was friendly and polite, helped to get her car functional and showed her where was a good place close by where a more permanent fix could happen.
There's a few, variations on who was driving and one I'm thinking of their bumper came loose, others with flat tires and what not.
They all end the same way, preconceived notions wind up being shown to be incredibly wrong.
